Vehicle shut down while exiting the highway.*mrwhile leaving the expressway at 5 mph the motorhome's neutral switch failed and caused the vehicle's brakes to activate suddenly.the sudden braking was followed by the engine shutting down.the consumer contacted the manufacturer and they indicated that they were aware of the problem with the neutral switch .the consumer is concerned because the motorhome is not equipped with and emergency brake and if the part failed again while driving at a faster speed the outcome may be different.
While traveling at 35 mph with our 2002 damon daybreak rv with the p32 chassic we smelled a burning brake odor real bad inside. At that time the brake pedal pressure was good.we had just left our home heading out on our trip when this occurred.we made the decision to turn around and head back to our local repair shop for inspection.wepulled in to our repair shop we had no brake pedal.after stopping in the parking lot of the repair shop i found the front brakes on fire.yes on fire.luckily we had a fire extinguisher inside and was able to extinguisher the fire but not after a lot of damage was done.i am now told just today we are looking at a minimum of $2500 to $3000 in repairs for starters.this rv has only 25,422 miles on it.problems such as ours has been recorded for years and damon corporation or workhorse chassic refuses to acknowledge the problem.i spoke to both this morning and was told they were sorry for our problem but they have no responsibility for it.when a life is taken as a result from this brake problem then maybe something will happen.that's said to think this way but true.the p32 chassic problem is just as bad as the w20 series recall.
