The contact owns a damon daybreak workhorse chassis p30. While attempting to start the vehicle, the contact noticed smoke coming from the dashboard but stopped independently within seconds. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The current and failure mileage was 21,000.
After going through stop and go traffic in harrisburg pa the brakes gave out completely with the brake pedal going to the floor in slow traffic. There was a tiny bit of braking and the vehicle coasted on the shoulder to a stop. Lots of smoke from the brakes front and rear. Repair was over $2200 to change the left rear brake caliber that had hung up. Front right bake over heated as well melting the speed sensor and cable. Workhorse/international claims that this p32 chassic is not part of the brake recall even though it has defective brake calibers. 2001 damon daybreak rv only has 16k miles. It would be wise to advise all workhorse p32 chassis rv owners that their rv could catch fire or fail to stop and be involved in an accident. I would like to encourage the dot to force workhorse/international to do the right thing and recall this chassis and replace the brake calipers.
