2000 lanos check engine light illuminated.the vehicle ran fine.several months later the consumer received a recall notice from daewoo 5/1/2006.the recall was for the camshaft position sensor.the consumer called the number provided but kept being connected to the message service.the consumer has left severalmessages but has never received a response.

Engine light has been coming on since jan 2002. Have replaced cam sensor once, fuel filter once, oxygen sensor twice and now they say it might be the fuel injectors. Timing chain fails and bends valves. Water pump and other components failed as a result of the timing chain failure.car just won't start at all. No warningprior to failure. The timing belt tensioner for my lanos and my sons nubira both froze and caused the timing belt to break just as the warranty expired. Something should be done so the tensioner does not damage the belt. This ends up being a very costly problem because the engine on both cars had to be changed.

Both connectors that connect to the headlights have deteriorated, apparently due to heat from the headlights, so badly that the connection disengages while driving and the headlights go out. I have to stop and jiggle the connection to regain headlights. The wire harness connection is defective and makes for a very hazzardous situation when traveling in washington dc traffic and suddenly the headlights go out.

Headlight plugs melted, causing the headlights not to operate. Consumer replaced the plugs, and a service bulletin recommended that consumer can change the type of phillips bulbsused because it could be causing the problem.dealer won't repair damage, replace bulbs or take responsibility for the failure of the plugs.*la

Disc brake on right front froze in the closed position and heated up the brakes and wore them down metal to metal on disc brake. Had to be towed in to dealer , central valley chrysler in modesto , ca. For repair. Warranty work completed by the dealer. Brake calipers and disc were replaced do to damage.dt

While driving about 45 mphdriver's window anddriver rear window shattered. Winds were 40 mph. Driver and child passenger suffered minor cuts. Same night while vehicle was parked, rear passenger's window shattered. Not taken to dealer yet.
