Consumer states that when trying to accelerate, the gas pedal has to almost be press to the floor before it engages.rpm's are at 3000.please provide any further information.

I have a 2002 coleman caravan and the refrigerator in the camper started defrosting and had a strong ammonia smell inside and outside the camper. There is yellow stuff coming out in a panel in the rear of the camper and strong odor inside the camper as well. I found out about a recall on these yesterday and called and the company said the only thing they will do is pay a dealer to put a "shield" over the part that is cracked that the stuff leaked out from and nothing more. They said that it was a fire hazard and the shield would contain a fire to just that part and not the rest of the camper. They will not replace anything else nor pay to have it fixed. I have had alot of problems with this camper. Flooding coming out from the bathroom area..clean water had it worked on at the dealer that i purchased it from and they found nothing...it has flooded 3 other times since then. Only can use the pump when needed. Floor is spongy through out camper..feels like you will fall through it. (not just the area of flooding) had a recall on microwave panel when it kept turning on in the night..they fixed at no charge to us. I don't understand how dometic company does not have to pay to fix this problem. Please do something about this..it is not fair to the consumer.

Coleman caravan travel trailer 2001-2004 all campers developed a spongy floor due to known leaks and cheap construction from manufacturer. When contacted manufacturer all were told if not original owner your out of luck. There is a serious saftey factor when towing a unstable structure. If you google coleman caravan floors you will see many frustrated people with the same problem with no where to turn for help. Coleman knew very well that there was a problem with the floors but did nothing about the problem. We all paid top dollar for this product becuase of tyhe name on the product which we thought was one of the best on the market. What i can't understand is why the manufacturer did not have a recall on this product it,s pretty obvious that there is a problem with all of these campers i hope that when you do some research you will see that this problem should of been adressed by the manufacture.
