I was pulling my horse trailer down the highway at 60 to 65 mph with three horses and the rear axle broke. Blowing the tire, rim & entire wheel straight out to the side. I did know it had happened until someone flagged me down. I was stuck in anthony nm from friday to sunday. Pulled trailer empty to big tex dealer in odessa, tx to fix. Was stuck their from sunday to wed. On cm manufacturer horse trailer website. Says, the no mad 3 horse bumper pull slant aluminumhave 5200 lb axle.mine had only 2 3500 lb axles. Big tex determined was not due to my trailer not being serviced or in bad condition. So, dexter paid to repair rear axle. However, when big tex checked front axle showed problems as well. Bit tex charged me $278.82 for those repairs. It is clear these axles had serious problems. I was not rememberedfor cost to board 3 horses, hotel cost, gasoline, food. We could have been killed along with our three horses. Is their any laws protecting us and requiring manufacturer or dexter reimburse me for my out of pocket expenses. Is cm in violating of any laws?
