The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While thecontact started the ignition, the air bag warning light indicator illuminated. The warning light remained illuminated until theengine was turned off. The failure occurred whenever starting the ignition. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was waiting upon a response from the authorized dealer regarding the cause of failure at the time of the complaint filing. The failure mileage was 53,091.

I had an accident and the under dash driver side air bag deployed. In front of the air bag is a large metal bracket , that is strapped to the front of the air bag. The metal plate stuck me in the shin, right leg and created a bone contusion and 3 inch high hematoma. The hospital said it was the worst one they had seen 3 months later i am still in awful pain and out of work. I contacted chrysler after speaking to several shops who said they had never seen a design with a steal plate in front of an airbag. Chrysler refused any responsibility. They did send an inspector. More specifically the air bag is mounted to the van structure then, nylon straps are sewed to a steal plate in front of the air bag, a plastic cover under the dash clips into the steal plate. In my case the plastic cover dropped and broke and steel plate hit me. There is no way possible way for the actual airbag to protect the driver being the steal in frontof it. Very, very disappointed to be so injured by something they designed so poorly. Then they refuse any responsibility. I would highly caution any other chrysler town and country drivers. This is not safe. I am a young woman with strong healthy bones. I couldn't imagine if a senior person had this happen. Thank you for your time

Air bag light on, could not reset.had previous errors and could reset.probable air bag sensor bad.had to replace whole airbag (very expensive) ornone of the airbags would work.dealer was very helpful.have noticed many airbag recalls on other vehicles lately.why not this one?

Driver's air bag light would illuminate occasionally - took it to the dealer would could not replicate the issue. I was told by o'neal chrysler (raleigh, nc) that it must be a loose connection and until they could see it themselves, they could not do anything. I took it in twice more as the light would come on every few months, but only stay on a for a few seconds. We have the 100,000 extended warranty. Fast forward to 2012 - the light would come one every other day, but not stay on long enough to get it to the dealer. I made one last attempt and called dealer to get fixed, but they said that they could not duplicate the issue, but that if i wanted, they could put in a new air bag system at about $1000. Fast forward to 2014 - now 124,000 miles, the light will illuminate 10-20% of the time when driving. I took it by local repair shop that said it was a "drivers seat belt pretensioner open".internet search suggest this is a common issue with chrysler.

Airbags failed to deploy. Front and side airbags did not work during rollover accident on the highway.single car accident. Injuries to the head and face.

The horn started activating on its own, lasting 2-3 minutes at a time while driving. This has persisted since that date. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed me that the issue (after diagnostics) was the airbag in the steering wheel is slowly expanding causing the contacts on the horn to activate. They also indicated that the airbag could have deployed without notice. This could have resulted in an accident which it did not in this case as i took it quickly to the a dealer, where it sits today. The dealer assistant service manager also indicated they have heard of this issue i have happening on the rare occasion. This not from normal wear and tear and i feel it should be researched before someone is injured or killed should the airbag deploy. I also think chrysler should be required to provided repairs to these vehicles, i have sent a request to chrysler as well.thank you for your time in this matter.

I was parked in my vehicle in the parking lot at my job and an airbag in the rear spontaneously went off with no collision or anything anywhere near it. It shattered my rear window as it combusted.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town & country. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the clock spring was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was serviced however, the repair failed to remedy the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 18,468 and the current mileage was 20,000.updated 04/27/12*lj

Driving over a water puddle such as in a pot hole results in a splash of water that somehow causes the air bag warning lamp to come on. Doesn't happen often but has happened at least six times that i can recall in the last three years. Often when the vehicle is shut off then restarted the lamp doesn't stay on.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 35 mph, the air bag warning indicator began to illuminate. The warning light remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The failure recurred ten times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the front passenger seat sensor would need to be replaced. On a separate occasion, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who detected water pump leakage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

About a year ago my 2007 town and country overheated had to replace a part then the air conditioning went out, burns oil, sliding doors don't work, replaced calipers, have to replace wheel bearings and air bag light stays on.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system) however, the parts to do the recall repair was unavailable. Drivers airbag warning dash indicator comes on driving during wet road conditions, or driving through rain and puddles. Contacted dealer and chrysler corp. Received a letter of decline for any warranty service for this fault. I expected a safety condition such as this airbag fault to be more of a concern for chrysler.

I was in an accident with my 2007 chyrsler town * country mini van. I rear ended another vehicle. All of the airbags deployed as they should. The lower airbag that has just been recently installed in 06 & 07 vehicles deployed and shoved the large plastic cover that is under the dash into my legs and right foot and ankle area causing tremendous bruising and broke my heel bone on my right foot. The amount of pressure pushed the plastic cover hard enough to force my foot into the brake pedal as i was trying to stop to avoid the accident.

Electrical system shut down and power window failure, dome light failure and remote control door lock/unlock failure

The 2007 town and country i helped my disabled sister buy has defective door and rear lift gate issues.we were parked and shopping and i was a passenger in her car when her home health aide hit the button to open the rear hatch for me to something out of the back. The hatch lifted then let go and slammed shut shaking the entire vehicle before i could leave the vehicle. I barely got out of the way that same day when it did again. Come to find out ithad happened before and my other sister was injured when the door hit her head. The same day her aide opened the left side door for me and as i extended my leg out the door it suddenly slammed shut, thankfully i was able to move fast enough to move my leg back into the vehicle before it closed.the driver side rear door does not work at all and has a chronic leak and mold in the tracks. This van is extremely unsafe!!!! i afraid my sister who does not move fast will be injured. Please help.

The contact's wife owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While the contact's wife was driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was unable to be restarted and the security indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to armory garage cdjrf (926 central ave, albany, ny 12205 (518) 641-7777) where it was diagnosed that the wireless ignition module and the key needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 101,776.

Pretty much ever since i've had the car, i will occasionally be driving and bump the key with my knee, turning the van off altogether.the power steering stops working with the engine off, so i have to try to turn on my hazard lights and carefully navigate to the side of the road to put the van in "park" again so that i can restart it (i can't restart it while i'm still moving).i am very, very careful to try to never even touch the key with my knee so that this doesn't happen, but it still does occasionally.

My gauges started going crazy.the abs and brake lights came on.the heater and radio went off while this was happening.at times the van just cut off in traffic but so far i'm able to start it up again.was told by rick hendricks chevrolet service dept that i needed to an alternator.had a new alternator installed by b&b automotive along with a tensioner.van still doing the same thing.also, when the gauges start going crazy, they make a tapping/ticking noise.i replaced the battery in october or november of last year because the van at times did not start..on one occasion when i had trouble getting it to start, the next day i took it to gerald's tires and brakes who told me i needed a battery.this morning when i approached a stop sign and stopped, the van cut off but fortunately i was able to start it up again.this happens when the van is in motion.happens just about every day because i drive to and from work.i limit my trips to get groceries or do any unnecessary driving because i'm afraid of the van cutting off in traffic.

After fill in gas in gas station, drove about 3/4 miles, trying to make a right turn at an intersection, suddenly the car lost power.engine stopped, no power steering, no brake. Finally the car stopped at the opposite side of the street. After several minutes, turn the engine back on, then everything back to normal.

Car was in our driveway, not running. Horn, lights, wipers - everything started going at once, smoke was coming from under the hood and the car was trying to start. We couldn't turn anything off. Called 911, fire dept. Unhooked the battery and took out the electrical box. Had the car towed back to the dealer.

The vehicle stalls intermittently at any speed in drive or reverse.this issue has happened at least one time per week for several months.

Three incidents of the same happening.last incident while driving at 70mph on interstate, the motor shut off, the speedometer registered "0" and the gas gauge registered "0".i was forced to make my way cautiously to the shoulder of the road.after calming down from the fright, i was able to restart the care and resume the trip.the first time this happened at 45mph on city street and the next time while pulling into a parking lot.very dangerous. May have been rear ended as the car slowed down drastically.

Fill-up gas after 1.5hours of highway travel. Off from the gas station joining a busy street at ~10mph, van stalled. I had wife, my son and two friends - it was a nerve wracking incident. The car behind us had to swerve to next lane to avoid rear-ending us.stalling continue to happen everytime i fill-up. Thus i would volunteer my vehicle if further testing is needed to investigate the root cause of the issue.

Passenger side headlight does not operate on low beam.occasionally will come on when driving on rough surfaces but will go out again.serious safety defect and a know issue with the tipm (fuse box under hood) being diagnosed as the problem by a reputable mechanic.headlight bulb has been replaced, headlight assembly has been replaced (they were "foggy" anyway), fuses have been replaced, headlight switch has been tested (swapped with a known good switch) and the headlight is still not working.blubs used on passenger side were tested on driver side and are working properly.numerous instances of this issue have been reported, many videos and articles on-line regarding the issue and still no resolution from the manufacturer.do people have to die before they do a recall and accept responsibility for their design flaw with the circuit board in the tipm and it is corrected?

Last week, within a minute or two of refueling and restarting the engine, the car stalled completely - eliminating steering control and making braking extremely difficult, causing me to hit the opposite curb and obstruct traffic. This has occurred at least 7 times in the past 2 years.it has happened immediately as i've exited the pumps at the gas station and also after i've exited the station and turned onto a city street or a highway.one time it happened as i turned onto a freeway on-ramp. It has happened after turning and also while driving straight ahead. I have reported this frightening situation to the chrysler dealership. They couldn't find anything the matter. When it occurred again, i've taken it to two independent mechanics who also couldn't figure out the problem.

Map light flickered and intermittently went out.i attempted to replace the bulb but the original bulb contacts and socket had burned and melted.i see this as a fire hazard.

Someone is going to get seriously injured if chrysler does not address the fueling problem in its vehicles.after fueling, my van will either begin sputtering and then stall or stall without warning.i recently fueled at a gas station on an exit off of interstate 70.upon entering the highway from the on ramp, my van stalled.fortunately, the tractor trailer approaching me in my lane was able to swerve into the adjacent lane and avoid hitting me.i took my vehicle to the chrysler dealership service department where i have the vehicle serviced and told them about the problem.they said they are "hearing about this issue more and more" and simply advised me to "not fill up the van with gas all the way".they also mentioned that chrysler 300 models have the same issue.what is being done about this problem?

I was driving at interstate speed, 70 mph, and the car shut itself off--lost all power.i was forced to carefully change lanes, and ease my way to the shoulder.the odometer read 0 mph and the gas gauge read empty.this was unsafe as i could have been rear-ended or side swiped.this was the third occurrence.the mileage is 40,500.

While driving on expressway at 70 mph, i pulled to the left to avoid a vehicle entering my lane and the car simple stall. No warning, all electrical system warning lights came on and after stopping in the center median, i attempted to restart the vehicle with no results.after having vehicle towed to the nearest facility, i was told that the fuel pump died and had a short. After replacing the fuel pump, the car would run for 9 minutes and would shut down. The mechanic informed me that one of the electrical control modules was faulty causing the alternator to over charge and shut off. I have had issues since we purchased this vehicle in 2007 with the gauges shutting down and the car shutting down. I have asked the dealer on several occasions about this problem and their response has always been that it doesn't happen when they have the vehicle. Now i find out that the chrysler dealer stated to the pepboys mechanic that this is a common problem with the town and country.

Electronic sliding lateral door does not close nor lock; opens and slides with travelgas tank not taking fuel causing back flow when trying to use fuel nozzle at station

The passenger side sliding door will not open from the inside.the electric door release won't work and now the manual door release won't work.people are trapped inside.only way out, is to open it from the outside to release the people inside.

Van has an automatic rear hatch door that closes up and down.the key fob has a button that must be pushed twice to close or open the rear hatch.there have been four incidents where the door has closed on its own. One of these incidents was verified by a family member who was using the vehicle and had not pushed the buttons and the door just came down on them. In two of the incidents an elderly person was hurt and had to go to the doctor and in one case the hospital.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town & country. While driving approximately 25 mph, the airbag light appeared on the dashboard, moments later, she noticed that the entire dashboard stopped functioning. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer and there were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 54000. Updated 11/23/09. *ljthe consumer stated the vehicle has no brake lights when stopping, except the tailgatelight.also, the blinkers and hazard lights are inoperative. Updated 11/24/09

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town & country.the contact stated that the vehicle has a rear parking assist warning mechanism that beeps when reversing within one foot of an object.the dealer stated that they could not repair the mechanism and referred him to the manufacturer.daimler chrysler stated that the mechanism was working according to specifications.the contact felt that the mechanism did not provide adequate warning.the current and failure mileages were less than 24,000.

Power window motor and regulator failure. The power window on the drivers door will not lift the window back up. I was told the motor and the regulator need to be replaced and that this is a common problem for these minivans.

Ignition switch doesn't return to on after starting. Causes directional signals not to work and flashers won't work. If i put right signal on the left will flash. If i manually move it to on position then everything starts working again. The vehicle was in motion when this was discovered and stopped when i found out why.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that there was an internal electrical short that caused the fuse box to fail and the horn not to function, according to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

Power sliding passenger doors stop working due to wires inside wire harness breaking. Splicing the wires back together is only a temp. Fixadditionally rust has developed at the bottom of the sliding doors. Additionally, i am not able to lock the passenger sliding door on the passenger side.

Fri., jul 28, while driving at a low speed (5 mph) to get into a funeral procession my car suddenly stopped midway through a slight turn left. A battery icon lit up as well as "pcm" message.this caused me to block traffic.it was raining and i am very fortunate that i had not yet made it to the highway before the car stopped.although i had turned the car off the instrument panel flashed and the odometer continuously switched between 0 and 5 mi.whenever i attempted to open the driver door the alarm went off and the instrument panel indicated that the key fob was disconnected. The key fob has a new battery and it never left the car.it took nearly 30 minutes for the instrument panel to stop flashing.

While moving in reverse around three to five miles per hour, the four-way emergency flashers activated and the passenger power sliding door opened approximately one to three inches. After coming to a stop and while shifting to drive the power sliding door completed the opening cycle. The passenger power sliding door was then unresponsive and had to be manually closed.one day prior to the incident the passenger power sliding door began showing symptoms of electrical problems. When opening, the door would stop just a few inches from the latch. When closing, the door would stop just a few inches from the latch.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the map lights positioned over the front driver and passenger's side dash did not operate. While removing the bulbs, the contact discovered that the plastic socket assembly that housed the light bulb had burned and melted. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer but not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 65,000. Updated 7/14/14

During a low-speed local trip (less than 2 miles, 45 mph max) acrid smoke starts coming out front a/c vents. Stop, turn off ignition. After merely describing the problem to an experienced mechanic, he says he knows what the cause is and proves it by removing the glove compartment to reveal a fried wire and nearby heat-damaged parts. He adds that many chrysler-built (also gm-built) vehicles had caught fire because of this very reason. The a/c blower motor had started drawing too much electrical current (reason unknown*) which caused its wire to get hot enough to burn its own insulation plus melt nearby plastic parts. The wire is, obviously, undersized for a nominal overload. (*the blower was still blowing as it always had, and had never blown its fuse.) as an electronics technician with 39 years' experience in engineering, i find the use of wiring too small in gage to safely handle the full load rating of its branch circuit (as determined, in this case, by the blower fuse amperage) to be appalling. The national electrical code protects us in our homes from such dangerous electrical design, why isn't there a code to protect us in our highway vehicles as well? what other undersized wires in my car are waiting to set it on fire? what such wiring in other makes and/or models? youtube provides graphic evidence of what can happen when a car burns, even when no crash has occurred.

Overhead dome maplightstopped working smelled like burning it was safety issue because when i popped of the clear plastic cover idon't know why the van hadn't caught on fire yet. Half the base of the bulb was black, the plastic part of the socket was scorched ,warped , melted and smelled burn and damaged console sockets. Clearly this was defective parts that should be the reason chrysler changed the design and part but never notify consumers and issue recall . This is series safety issue fire and electrical damaged may cause serious injuries. I was told thatdealer is not responsible and not interested helping and i need to pay $400 to change entire socket for two small light bulbs . When i call chrysler corporate again i was told they can not helpbecause i have old vehicle . This is clearly defective design and part unfortunately chrysler would not take ownership and accountability to notify and repair this issue . Please see attached picturewhen i went to dealer forreplacement bulbs for about $6 each i was told i need to replace entire console because they no longer have thisdefective bulbs when i popped of the clear plastic cover i wondered why the van hadn't caught on fire yet. Having problems with ignition switchwhen i turn the key to start the car ignition switch does not open is like there was a burned fuse panel lights don't comeout is everything dark . All lights are good . One another thing when i try to open the locks with the keyless entry by pressing unlock or lock they don't respond to the signal key so i have to open with the key directly this van has 67000 miles what could it be?

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start sporadically. The vehicle was able to be started after several attempts. The headlights randomly go out while the switch is in the on position.they may work fine for 10 minutes or an hour, then go dark.if i wiggle the headlight switch i can sometimes get them to come back on briefly, but it is truly hit and miss if they will stay on or not.there does not appear to be any particular 'sweet spot' on the switch and it does not appear to be affected by smooth or bumpy roads.it is quite scary and dangerous especially on the dark mountain roads i have to drive.

Front courtesy lights have melted in their sockets and tail light is showing signs of starting to do the same. Turn signals have gone crazy: sometimes they work as they should, other times they don't work at all, at times you have to use the lever over and over again to get them to engage. The worse part is that at times if you choose the right, the left comes on. We feel both of these issues could potentially be very serious safety issues. They both seem to be electrical issues the lights could present a fire hazard and the turn signals could be the cause of an accident.

Slider doors on my minivan will not open and close completely electrically.chrysler has admitted there is a problem with a short in the wiring harness by recalling certain vehicles.on my car there are times when the door cannot be opened manually or electrically from inside the car.there have been some cars that started on fire.why doesn't chrysler admit they have a big problem for many years and recall these vehicles and correct the problem before they have a severe problem.

2007 town and country--- light surging problem on instrument panel & headlights brought to chrysler dealer service dept. On 1/2/08 not fixed returned to dealer on 1/9/08 as of 1/21/08 unable to fix the problem. It was noticed by the service people on my vehicle and others in the lot.

After filling my gandmothers gas tank on her 2007 town and country we pulled onto the street and the whole car stalled out and i lost control of my steering wheel and breaks. If it hadn't been for quick reaction time on my part. We would have been in a collision. It's never had a problem before. In order to gain control back i had to throw the van in park and then it restarted and drove with no problem home.

After i fill up my van then starting after about 30 seconds to a minute the engine would run rough and if you did not give it the gas it would stop. I mentioned this to my dealer but they did not know or hear of this problem. In the november 2014 issue of consumer reports i noticed in the "road report" section about fuel tank problems with 2007-2008 chrysler vehicles. I checked the web and in the "allpar.com news" that covers all chrysler vehicles it had a article about 2006-2007 vehicles "stalling on a full fuel tank". I have had this problem since i purchased the vehicle in march of 2011 with approximately 32000 miles.my dealer said since there was no recall on this that they could not do anything about this unless i paidto have it fixed. In the allpar article it stated that it is the problem with the "stant-built floats in the fuel tank". I am use to this happening so i am ready for it. I keep my foot on the gas in neutral if i am stopped to ensure the engine does not die. If i am driving just need to be aware and keep on the gas and it passes inabout 10 seconds.please help.thanks

After green light, i made the right turn from a small road to main road.when the car was half way into the main road (about 45 degree), the engine just dead, and a lot of symbols lighted up on the panel.i have to completely turn the key to off position, and re-ignite the car.when this incident happened, there is nothing attached to the key.only car key itself was inside the ignition hole.i contacted chrysler a few month back, reported the same issue happened twice while i called them last time.they told us they were aware this issue and were reviewing it, and suggested us to remove all other keys from key chain.this time i'm just reporting the incident on the government website, so others can see and hopeful chrysler will recall the car for this issue.

After filling up the fuel tank and driving maybe one block the engine stalled. This happens now after every fillup. It is exactly the same symptoms as in nhtsa action number : pe13016 for other chrysler products of the previous year. A search in google came up with many, many people with many different cars experiencing the same thing. If you pull out of the gas station directly onto a highway and stall while trying to merge into high speed traffic, the results could be disastrous (b'ah).

Vehicle stalls a minute or so after filling gas tank while driving.this happenedon several different occasions.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While driving at 40 mph, the check engine and the electronic throttle control (etc) warning lights illuminated and the contact noticed a burning odor. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,412.

O2 sensor failure. The upstream and downstream o2 sensors constantly fail on this vehicle and need to be replaced often. I found many other people online that had the same issue. I have had to replace my o2 sensors with factory oem replacements 3 times now.

After filling gas tank the engine quits while driving.city street and highway.gas tank check valve suspected.has happened twice in last two months.116k miles on van.

Engine shut off going around a corner in our neighborhood.had to restart van.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 5 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The intermittent failure occurred immediately after refueling the tank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to locate the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. This van has been burning a quart of oil every 800 to 1000 miles since we first purchased it. The van now has 91,233 miles on it and the oil consumption is getting worse. The oil is burning through the engine and there are no leaks whatsoever. I have seen many many posts on a lot of sites where other people are having the same problem and chrysler does not want to do the right thing and fix the problem. The dealerships are saying what chrysler is telling them to say which it is normal for an engine to burn a quart of oil every 1,000 miles which is just ridiculous. I have had plenty of vehicles in my life time and even the worst beater with 250,000 miles on it never burned that much oil. This is a wide spread problem that chrysler needs to man up and accept responsibility and repair their customers vehicles properly. Due to this problem i will never purchase a chrysler vehicle again. I have always bought gm's and never had a problem like this.

Car stalled approaching stop light.would not restart. Was able to jump start it and took it in to service. Told that the lower end was bad and engine needed to be replaced. Some of these cars had a lifetime powertrain warranty, i missed the window by less than 6 months. Clearly, they knew there was a problem and did not do anything about it.

**the vehicle stalls shortly after filling up the tank. Usually it stalls while in traffic! almost have caused many accidents! **it also now will not allow to pump gas into the tank unless it is at the lowest setting (20-25 minutes for a fill up).

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. After refueling the vehicle and driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. Updated 5/18/15

We have had repeated issues with the engine suddenly shutting down. It happens in the middle of driving and is extremely dangerous. There have been times we are going around a curve or pulling out in traffic and the engine will just shut off. The van has to be put in neutral and the key has to be turned on. We have eliminated all keys from our fob. The van has been inspected by numerous mechanics and no one has been able to determine what the issue is. We are extremely concerned that our family is going to be killed in a crash because of this issue. The engine shutting off continues to get worse. Chrysler has told us there are no recalls. Why does it take numerous deaths in order for there to be a recall? we bought this van because we thought it was safe and now we fear it is going to seriously injure or kill our family. Please look into this.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While driving 70 mph, a loud grinding noise emitted from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the air compressor failed and needed to be replaced. On a different occasion, the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 117,000.

Saturday, december 22, 2018 - we were returning home after visiting out of town relatives for the winter holidays. The van stalled on us (entire family of four plus one aunt-five people total in our van) in the middle of the road! i was a panicking fearing we could all die that instant! we were very lucky to safetly get the van to the side of the road with the rolling momentiumthe van still had despite the engine turning off, no power steering, and no power brakes! my wife had been telling me(started about five years ago) that the van randomly stalls while in traffic and i had been researching the issue online continuously when i had free time and remembered the random stalling issue. No trouble codes came up when the van stalled on saturday, december 22, 2018. After reasearching what others have posted online, this issue seems like a class action law suit needs to be filed for it because of the severity of the issue (putting families lives at risk, thats the main purpose of buying a van, to take your family places).

My 2007 chrysler town and country touring minivan stalls after filling up with gas everytime when get gas. Van starts and you start to drive and then all of a sudden the car stalls in the middle of an intersection and you have to shift van into park quickly and then restart van and then put in gear.can drive a mile down the road and it happens in the middle of driving at a higher speed. Once you drive it for about 10 minutes continuous it stops stalling until the next time you get gas. Also sometimes when trying to fill up gas tank, if close to empty, the sensor in the gas tank that let's the gas station pump know that the tank is full makes the pump stop after just a gallon pumped in and keep sending that signal that it is full and won't let you fill anymore. Have to wait till the next day before it let's you fill up completely without doing that sensor issue. However it does the stalling after filling up with gas no matter how much gas is put in the gas tank.

Engine stalls in traffic shortly after refueling. In motion or idling at a stop.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the engine stalled after refueling. The vehicle restarted after several attempts. The failure occurred once. While driving on the highway going 70 mph the engine on my chrysler town and country stalled.i had to coast to a stop and restart the engine.it started up fine but 4-5 min later it stalled out again while turning into the school parking lot.again it started up fine.at low speeds, i now experience some engine surging issues.

I was driving and my car just shut off. I had to pull off road no power steering . I didn't touch ignition or anything it just shut off.i pulled over put in park and it did restart has not happened today very scary.

Every single time i fill up the gas tank, the car almost immediately after pulling out of the gas station sputters, stalls and becomes non-responsive. Last time (9/18/2016) i lost control of the car in the middle of the road and it completely stopped. Another time (early june, 2016), i drove into the freeway right out of the gas station and the engine stop responding, blocking entire traffic. The check engine light came on in few occasions and the code was (according to mechanic) is the fuel sensor malfunctioning. The strangest part is that once it stalls, i can restart the car and drive it without any problems until the next fueling. The mechanic could not find anything wrong but suggested that it was a design flaw due to vapor/liquid separator in the fuel tank and that he has seen this same problem in many chryslers/jeeps made in late 2000s. While it drives fine, this problem put myself and my family in several dangerous situations in the middle of the traffic.

Driving vehicle about 55 mph, after hearing a loud bag tried to steer car onto berm.the power steering did not work. Finally, and with a struggle, vehicle was pulled off the road.had vehicle towed to mechanic.mechanic stated that alternatorhad completely come loose from its mooring.after inspection, he saw that one bolt was missing and the other bolt had fallen out.alternator coming unmounted caused damage to the timing cover and serpentine drive belt .timing cover is not available currently from chrysler.is this a reason for that, perhaps?

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town & country.whenever the driver attempted to engage the brakes at 15 mph, a very loud grinding noise was heard from underneath the vehicle.she took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the rack and pinion steering was leaking and needed to be replaced.she was also informed that a new water pump was needed because of how the vehicle was constructed.while the vehicle was at the repair shop, the contact found numerous complaints online for the identical failure on the same make and model vehicles.the dealer stated that they would be responsible for the parts, but she would be responsible for the labor.the vehicle was replaced and the contact believes a recall should be issued.the failure mileage was 37,000 and current mileage was 44,000.

The vehicle stalls intermittently at any speed in drive or reverse.this issue has happened at least one time per week for several months.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. Immediately after refueling the vehicle and while driving at a low speed, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank and the evaporator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. For a little while now when we have the a/c running it leaks from the firewall onto the passenger side of the van floor. If the a/c is ran long enough with out drying out the floor on the drivers side gets wet also. I know there is a recall on the 2008 town and country's for the reason. Our van was built in january 2007 and the recall on the 2008's start on june 27, 2007 and go to july 30, 2008 manufactured vans. I do believe my van should be included in on this recall because we have had the a/c drain cleaned and that is not what the problem is. The leak is from the firewall where the a/c connects to the inside of the van under the carpet. We have seen it leak and i would love for it to be fixed since there is a problem with it. Please let me know what i can do. I don't want the carpet to rot out and i don't want anything to be messed up either. Thank you. Also we have had problems with the vin since we got the van.... We have always been told it is an invalid vin it wouldn't even work on this site but that is what is on the van in the vin location. I don't know what the insurance company or the revenue office did to get it to work.

After filling the minivan with gas (especially if full), once driving off gas station lot--car stalls.everything shuts off.usually shakes right before shutting off.must have something to do with brakes too.the more you brake right after turning car back on after fill up, the more likely it will stall. Very dangerous if making a turn, on highway or if cars are behind it. Also died once when turning into parking spot. I came very close to hitting car because power steering and brakes were gone too. This has been happening for months and is a huge problem. Our chrystler/dodge could not diagnose problem but there are many others online.this is a 2007 most of the same problems are with 2005.

2007 t& c.check oil after 30,000 and discovered 1 1/2 qt low.dealer advised it is normal to use 1 qt per 1,000 miles. (i never had a car do that let alone one with only 30,000 miles).i now have 42,000 miles and still consumes about 1 qt + per 1,000 miles.i have registered a complaint each time i take it in for service.

My wife's 2007 chrysler town and country van stalls after every fill up.this has happened in heavy traffic and could result in an accident.i thought this might be isolated, but after an internet search, it seems this is a significant widespread issue.my opinion is this is a safety issue and should not happen after only 55,000 miles.thanks.

2007 town & country with 9,000 miles driving on interstate 76 in philadelphia exiting an off ramp at conshohocken. Van began shaking then it was a sound like a pop van became uncontrollable, not able to steer or shift any gears. Driver unable to turn wheel causing the van to go into the off ramp.there is little damage to the body of the van but driver was told by a worker for the pa dept of transportation as well as an autobody shop & tow truck driver that the engine mount had broke causing the loss of control of the van.the engine mount is broke in at least 3 places and part of the engine or mount is hanging down near the wheel. The chrysler dealership is saying they have never seen anything like this and therefore it is driver era i.e. The accident caused the mounts to break instead of the mounts breaking causing the accident.driver is not sure what happened the only account is the van was unable to be steered to follow the path of the off ramp and the van was unable to be shifted out of gear or stopped.the van came to a stop because of the off ramp there was no control for the driver.

Intermittently headlights gettingoff while driving . Tried stop the van and restarted to see if headlights come on. No luck. This is happening for the last 8 months.

Inside of the dome drivers and passengers dome lights melted (apparently from heat of bulbs) and shorted bulbs. Loss of light is inconvenience/hazard....but it appears to be hot enough to cause fire or other electrical problem(s). This problem seems to have been reported multiple times by other owners.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the rear passenger tail light ignited into flames. The contact maneuvered to the side of the road and immediately exited the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the large flames and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for investigation to determine whether the fired originated within the headlight assembly. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

The driver's side map light is out. Went to replace the bulb and found that the bulb, socket and area the socket goes into was melted.dealer says it is a common occurrence. $300 to replace.read on line several other owners with the same experience but i do not see a recall.

Half the base of the bulb was black, the plastic part of the socket was scorched and warped damages console sockets

After filling up the fuel tank and driving maybe one block the engine stalled. This happens now after every fillup. It is exactly the same symptoms as in nhtsa action number : pe13016 for other chrysler products of the previous year. A search in google came up with many, many people with many different cars experiencing the same thing. If you pull out of the gas station directly onto a highway and stall while trying to merge into high speed traffic, the results could be disastrous (b'ah).

After fueling vehicle where tank is filled (to first click off, no more) the car stalls a short while after leaving the gas station if you have to stop, or slow dramatically( stops, turns etc., shortly after filling,(normally within 5 min. Or less) for traffic, lights, etc. This problem is caused by a valve failure in the gas tank allowing the vapor recovery line to fill with gas which at a preselected time opens into the intake system and when at low speeds, or stops floods the engine with raw gas causing the stall. When being able to continue accelerate you still feel a definite bog in the engine when this happens, although it does not stall. The engine normally restarts, but that would not help much if you stalled in approaching traffic or such. I also own a 2003 dodge caravanwith 100k+ miles and it has done it for a couple of years starting at around 85k same symptoms as 2007 van. I was wondering if there are any recalls or other complaints on this. Very dangerous in the right circumstance. Chrysler says part is not repairable other than by changing to fuel tank completely, my cost on the tank with me repairing it is $900.00. Sure like to see them fix both of mine and i also own a 2006 t&c so i am waiting for it to start as in has a little over 92k so i guess its done good to get there without a problem. A google search reveals more people have had this problem also, and is how i figured out the cause. Thanksfor any help.

My 2007 chrysler town and country touring stalls after a full tank fill up. This is a very dangerous issue, it happens after every fill up.

Vehicle stalled after fuel up. Same issue has happened previously.

Check engine light on/checked with computer, evap system bad. Mechanic checkedand evap system not working

Every time i put gas into my van (chrysler town & country)my stalls. I never over fill the tank so what do i do about it? it happens in the city and on the hwy.

Engine splitters and shuts off after filling up with fuel.very dangerous as this can cause collision.this happens after almost every gas fill.has occurred for about two years now.only happens after gas fill up.i have researched problem and it seems to be a pretty common problem and chrysler has issued a recall for minivans only a few years older.

After filling up with gas and pulling out of gas station, the van will stall.i expect this now and try to get it to stall in the gas station parking lot but this is very dangerous if you have to pull out into traffic.happens every time i get gas now.only fill until pump turns off to avoid over-filling but it doesn't help.saw this was due to failing valves in gas tank allowing liquid fuel into the charcoal canister but there isn't a recall.this should be a recall item due to the safety issue.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 5 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The intermittent failure occurred immediately after refueling the tank. If i fill the gas tank until the automatic shut off stops the flow of gasoline, after leaving the gas station, the first stop i make the car will want to stall. I have to put the car in neutral and keep it revved or feather the gas pedal in drive.on some occasions if it does not stall and i am on the highway it will feel like it wants to stall and i have to be careful and feather the gas pedal. As long as i don't fill the tank to the point off the pump automatically shutting off i have no problem.i feel this is a dangerous problem that needs rectified. I have owned 3 dodge caravans and another chrysler town and country and never had the problem, all were prior 2007 models.

Car stalls out after filling up at gas stations. After speaking with a mechanic and researching the issue it seems as if there is problem with the liquid separator valve and the fix for this would be to replace the whole gas tank including that valve. Unless the car remains started while filling, the stalling persists causing safety hazards on the highway and local roads.

Van surged and stalled while entering the freeway after filling the fuel tankthis happens randomly after fill ups.

When trying to pump fuel into tank ,it accepts between 4 and 5 gallons , then spurts fuel back out of tank neck. It seems no matter how slowly you pump after the 4 or 5 gallons it just shoots fuel back at you.this occurs while at a filling station.

Electronic sliding lateral door does not close nor lock; opens and slides with travelgas tank not taking fuel causing back flow when trying to use fuel nozzle at station

When i fill my van up (not topping it off)and start it to leave the gas station. I go anywhere from a block to 4 blocks and the engine sputters, stalls and many time dies.originally this was only an occasional problem, but has increased over the past few months to the point that it happens almost every time i fill up.this is a scary problem because i've been left in intersections and traffic. Fortunately, once i turned the van off and then tried to re-start it started up. Thank god, no one has hit me.upon research on the internet i find that this has been an ongoing chrysler town and country minivan problem on vehicles from 2000 going forward yet i find no recall for the problem.from what i could find there are suggestions on what to do to fix the problem, but no proven solutions. I am hoping that by filing my complaint here that someone will research it and get back to me on a solution.

The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.

Engine stalls in traffic shortly after refueling. In motion or idling at a stop.

Vehicle stalls and cuts out ,after filling up tank. While driving.dangerous.it is doing it at other times now tooit is starting to do it at a longer time after fill up..

Every time i go to put gas in my van it acts like it is full, it keeps stopping. This is getting worse every time, to the point i am ready to trash it because no one in their right mind would want to deal with this especially in winter as i am now. I can no longer tell if i have a full tank or not. I have seen other complaints on this same issue with the same year. This problem needs to be fixed. .please feel free to contact me if you need to know more.

After refueling the vehicle it will stall, hesitate and or completely lock up and not accelerate at all. This happens after refueling and turning on and driving. This can take place in parking lot of gas station, city streets and getting onto highway from fuel stationalso turning or commuting strict down the road. Have taken it into repair shop numerous times and keep being told there is nothing wrong. This problem started november 2015 and has continued to get worse every week since when i fill up with gas.

Multiple times (3 times to date), immediately after filling up the fuel tank, the engine has stalled shortly after starting the engine and pulling away from the pump.we didn't get onto the roadway before the engine stalled.after shifting to park and restarting, the engine ran normally.this stalling after refueling issue has been reported by numerous other town & country owners.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that immediately after refueling, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000. The vin was not available.

After filing van with gas the car stalled within a mile. Limited brakes and steering. Very dangerous. After coming to a stop, the car started normally.

The van has stalled a handful of times while mid-turn after being fueled up!this has happened to me and my wife.i just read an article about this happening in our local paper and was shocked that others have had the problem as well.here is the article:http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140909/auto0101/309090093/1361/complaint-leads-to-probe-of-chrysler-minivan-stalling-issueplease keep me posted on this issue!this is a very dangerous problem.when the car stalls, everything goes out....no power steering at slow speed around a turn is bad! thank you!

Just like the model before 2007, my van suddenly stopped taking fuel. It's near impossible to refuel, taking 30-45 minutes using a gas can and going slow. Refueling at a gas station is not an option. This just happened one day, after no changes or symptoms. Chrysler seems to not want to address this issue in any models further than whats already been done, though the problem clearly extends beyond just the 2002-2006. This is now basically an inoperable and expensive driveway decoration.

Chrysler town and country 2007- shortly after refueling the vehicle, with no warning the rpm's will drop and the engine will stall. This event usually happens as i am merging into traffic from the gas station. This is a very dangerous situation because the power brakes and steering assist is lost during a stall!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated the fuel gauge registered empty even though the vehicle had a full fuel tank. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle shuddered and stalled while driving at approximately 35 mph. The low oil level and fuel low warning lights were illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The contact called the state line chrysler dodge dealer, located at 1001 w 104th st, kansas city, mo 64114, and was told to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the nhtsa hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not provided.

Vehicle stalls a minute or so after filling gas tank while driving.this happenedon several different occasions.

Vehicle will stall and usually completely cuts off after gas tank has been filled.this happens almost every time. After this happens it is hard to re-start and has caused the vehicle to be stranded in the road.

Our 2007 chrysler town and country van has experienced several instances of stalling after fill-up.i now see that others have experienced this.the worst times are when we let it go below 1/4 tank before filling.two (2) times this has nearly led to accidents.one (1) time while turning, and another when it stalled pulling away from a stop sign.i am now the only driver allowed to drive the van after fill ups, since i won't take the chance of the vehicle stalling when my wife or daughters are driving.while the report i read said there have been no accidents or deaths reported yet, this malfunction will certainly lead to them. I implore the nhtsa and chrysler fiat to recall and fix this issue before a van full of kids stalls turning in front of a truck.thank you.

My wife had just filled up the van with gas and, while driving down the road, she said she heard some "chimes"...then all power to the van shut off.no power steering, traffic in front and behind her. I see that others on this site have had the same problem after getting gas. The van only has 56,000 miles. I'll be calling chrysler tomorrow. I did get the lifetime powertrain warranty back in 2007 when purchased. I was not pleased to read that the ntsb would not require a recall from chrysler until more evidence ( ie motor vehicle accidents and/or fatalities) occur.my wife no longer feels safe driving the van with our two youngs boys.

Vehicle stalls and shuts off after refueling. Vehiclebegin to shake and slow down shut off completely at light had to be pushed out of intersection. Sat in parking lot for a few minutes then restarted with out problem. Repeat occurances after refueling.

After re-fueling the motor dies every time you refuel, this causes a major safety issue on the road ! many others with this vehicle have noticed the same problem

Car stalls after filling with fuel. Now overflows fuel when filling at station. Will only take around .5 gallon of fuel per pump without overflowing.

The vehicle stalls after refueling the fuel tank.the vehicle was inmotion on a city street.started fine but after getting about a quarter mile down the road began to run erratically and then stalled while rolling to a stop.

After filling up the gas tank, and driving about two blocks, the engine stalled during deceleration for a stop sign. The vehicle was able to be restarted after several tries and being allowed it sit for a moment. The engine started to die again at a stop sign a few blocks later, but the driver was able to prevent that by giving it gas and avoiding coming to a complete stop. Between then and the next time the vehicle was filled up with gas, there were no further problems. This problem has re-occurred periodically over approximately the last year, often enough that it's come to be expected after getting gas. It always happens after the gas tank is filled, between two and six blocks from the gas station, and while decelerating.

**the vehicle stalls shortly after filling up the tank. Usually it stalls while in traffic! almost have caused many accidents! **it also now will not allow to pump gas into the tank unless it is at the lowest setting (20-25 minutes for a fill up).

After fueling, the 2007 t & c van with 3.3 l v-6 starts to stall, sputter and surge.this has become progressively more frequent with each tank fill.after 30 seconds from the onset, the engine normally returns to normal idle and runs smoothly.the last incident occurred last evening (3/9/13) and the engine surged by up to 800 rpms just after the van was put into gear and we were pulling away from the gas pump and we had a bit of control loss with pedestrians in the way.no one hurt thankfully.

Vehicle sometimes stalls or dies after filling up with fuel.

Engine shut off going around a corner in our neighborhood.had to restart van.

Engine stalls or stumbles after filling up.has been happening since about 90,000 miles, currently at 97,500.the stall that occurred in an intersection yesterday a couple blocks from the gas station was a dangerous and tense situation but thankfully drivers around me were alert and courteous and nothing bad happened.when it stalls the steering and brakes are no longer power assisted, so a smaller driver may not be able to control the vehicle.after stalling, i put the flashers on, shift into park, and am able to restart the vehicle and continue. Sometimes it will stall or stumble a couple of times within a mile or so of the station.this is the pattern.fill up, stall once or twice or stumble once or twice, then fine for the rest of the tank.it is interesting to me that this does not cause any engine codes to present.

I bought it used with 60,000 mi and 1 year into itit started choking after any fill and a couple times it died while driving .. Slow speeds at take off and in town.. It could last up to 1/2 hour..sputtering on and off...real distressing when i was on the freeway with 3 lanes of traffic..would have been a pile up if it had died..brought it to chrysler after that and they replaced the fuel level//sending unit and the fuel pump for $400...seemed to be better but its been six months and it's beginning to choke up again...i've been filling it at a 1/2 tank level which seems to be helping the most...very dangerous in traffic!!!!!iif you're not going to recall at least identify the problem so we can fix it

After refueling the van, the engine stalls and we loose power steering and brakes. It usually happens with in a mile of the gas station. It sputters at other times and looses power. We have changed the fuel pump but that has not resolved the issue. After doing some on line investigation it seems to have been going on with many other customers for an extended period of time.

When the vehicle was filled up with fuel, it stalled within a few minutes of the fill up.i was barely moving. Now, this happens on every fill up.it does not matter if i am driving down the highway or in town, if it is after a fill up, it stalls or sputters.it does not matter if it is (summer or winter), (wet or dry), or (engine hot or cold).this is dangerous.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. After restarting the vehicle, it resumed normally. The failure occurred only after refueling. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

After refueling gas tank (to the point of automatic shutoff) restarted vehicle and proceeded to leave station. The van stalled as pulling out of station onto city street, which almost caused accident from approaching vehicle, and steering affected as well. Previously, have experienced the van almost stalling, but then catching in after a few sputters, which in itself was scary. Have found many complaints for this same problem with numerous year dodge and town & country minivans online at: allexperts.com/q/chrysler-repair-807/f/stalling-refueling.htm. Folks there stating they have been told they have to replace entire fuel tank to correct the problem. It is hard to believe the manufacturer does not know about this problem with so many complaints online! as minivan choice of vehicle for folks with families of small children, this seems like a dire problem in need of investigation not only for the year 2007, but from 2003 on.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the fuel tank only accepted two gallons of fuel at a time. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and it was diagnosed for fuel valve failure. The part was unavailable for repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

The passenger side sliding door lock does not respond to the remote or inside control for locking and unlocking. It only works when controlled manually.

My 2007 t & c minivan has a faulty door latch assembly on the rear passenger slide door.the chrysler dealerships replace on average 5 of these a week.you cannot go to the junk yard and get a replacement part, they are updating with brand parts because all the old parts are defective.the door will not pop up or down with the automatic locks.this is a chronic problem and it should be a recalll.the part is $400+ and the labor is $200+ just for a lock!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town & country. After parking the vehicle, it suddenly began to roll backwards. The emergency brake failed. In order tostop the vehicle, the contact had to get back into the vehicle and apply the brakes. The failure has not been diagnosed. The failure and the current mileageswere 39234.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the emergency brakes failed. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced the brakes and adjusted the cable that was attached to the emergency brake, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Vehicle has a shuddering effect while driving between 38-55 mph.the trans-axle has been rebuilt multiple times and lasts apprx. 12000 miles and then has to be rebuilt again.as the miles progress up from the rebuild the shuddering increases and the vehicle becomes a danger to drive.chrysler position is that they fixed the issue and it is our problem. We are currently involved in a warranty suit against chrysler, our attorney is krohn & moss.the case is scheduled for trial in feb. 2013.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country.when the contact places the vehicle into drive without depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle accelerates on its own.the failure is intermittent and also occurs when the vehicle is placed into reverse.the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer, but was not diagnosed.the current mileage was 7,000 and failure mileage was 3,000.

On several occasions within the past 2 years our van has stalled within 1-2 miles of leaving a gas station.on each of those occurrences the auto shutoff function of the gas pump was used to terminated fueling. On one specific occasion the van stalled in the middle of an intersection.if it had been rush hour it would have presented a significant safety issue for everyone around.on other occasions when manually terminating fueling the van has stalled.the problem apparently occurs at a certain level in the tank when it is approaching full.

Vehicle unable to go in reverse up an inclined driveway without difficulty and shuttering in the drivvetrain. Chyrstler engineers and dealer service manger told me this is normal state for this vehicle and i should go up the driveway faster and without slowing or sopping to avoid the shutter. This is a safety issue when you have many children in the neighborhood, you have to go slow up the driveway to make sure you do not run anyone over or hit an object. I am not a trained reverse race car driver. All of the other vehicles i have had in my driveway did not have this issue. We also have reported hard shifting at slow speeds where the vehicle actually lurches forward. This is dangerous when you are in areas where crosswalks are present such as the park, shopping areas, shool zones etc. Chrysler stated this too was normal.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country.the contact stated that every time she drives her vehicle and attempts to stop, the vehicle hesitates with a couple of feet of braking distance before it finally stops.the vehicle has been taken to the dealer three times regarding this failure.the first time, the dealer stated that the rear rotors were out of spec and they repaired the rear rotors.the second and third times, the dealer stated that the vehicle needed a software update to the transmission.the dealer has not yet created the update and did not know when it would be created.the speed was unknown.the current mileage was 2,400 and failure mileage was 4.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country.while driving approximately 10 mph the transmission began to slip gears. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on two separate occasions for identical failures. The computer chip and transmission were replaced on two separate occasions. None of the repairs have remedied the failure.the failure mileage was 34,000.the current mileage was 34,970.

2007 chrysler town and country.consumer states that he is having problems with the tire pressure monitoring system (tpms). The light would illuminate at any time even when the tires had proper air. He states he has taken it to the dealer several times.the consumer also stated the transmission had to be replaced a couple of times, as well as the torque converter.

My 2007 chrysler town & country is having a transmission failure problem. Without warning my vehicle's transmission will slip then the check engine light will come on and the vehicle will no longer shift into it's third range. Even after i shut off my vehicle and restart it the check engine light will remain on and the computer codes all set hard. Once taken to a transmission shop everything can be reset with the mechanic resetting the computer codes. At this point the check engine light goes off and the transmission shifts properly. I have been advised by a chrysler dealership that my vehicle is not covered under their powertrain warranty and they have not had any other reported events such as mine. My vehicle only has 35,000 miles on it and i don't feel that this is a usual failure. Something has to be wrong with the way the transmission was built.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving various speeds he noticed a bucking feeling. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who advised him that he needed to replace the input and output control modules. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted andoffered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000. Updated 12/20/11*ljthe consumer stated after getting the vehicle back, he continued to experience problems with the transmission going into neutral. The vehicle was towed to a repair facility where a new torque converter was installed. Updated 12/23/11

I was rear ended on june 8, 2019 with my 3 small grandchildren with me.the two in the 3rd row seat were in booster seats properly installed.the rear end collision was hard enough to total my car and the car that hit me.the seatbelts did not lock in the crash and the 2nd row belts do not lock either.i think chrysler should recall these seat belts in at least the 2007 chrysler town and country.we were stationary on a city street in omaha, ne.

3rd row seat belts do not lock in a accident.i was rear ended and had 2 booster seats with grandkids in them.the lap portion locked but the shoulder belts did not lock in the accident.this is very unsafe especially for children.we were on a busy street in omaha, ne when the accident happened.hit from the rear at about 35 miles per hour or more.also, my air bag did not deploy after i was hit from the rear, my car hit the person in front of me.

Electric drivers seat will not forward or back.

About a year ago my 2007 town and country overheated had to replace a part then the air conditioning went out, burns oil, sliding doors don't work, replaced calipers, have to replace wheel bearings and air bag light stays on.

We have 2007 chrysler town&country touring minivan. There was a burning smell by passenger side for a while and abs fault light came on and not go away. The car sliding back on a little hill at traffic light while on drive gear and sliding forward on r gear . All dealers by my area are closed what can we do?

We have a 2007 chrysler town & country with 21,000 miles.front brake pads and rotors have premature wear.have to have replaced because they are at 3mm.chrysler sts 'normal maintenance'...i've never had to replace brakes on a leased vehicle!anyone else with this issue?

2007 chrysler town and country driver's side front brake had unusually fast wear and gave no audio warning of low pad material.i took my '07 t&c with 28,180 miles into chrysler dealer with grinding sound coming from driver's side wheel when applying brakes.diagnosis reveal rotor grind thru and must replace front pads and rotors.3 things unusual:1. Out of 6 new cars i've owned and driven in the same fashion, this chrysler's brakes worn out unusually fast compared with the others.2. There was no audio warning on this chrysler to alter you that the pads are thin.i suddenly start to hear a grinding sound on saturday, and on monday, the dealer tells me i've worn thru the driver's side front rotor.3.although the driver's side rotor is "completely down to the metal" (according to dealership service dept), the passenger side front pad was still good.

I have a 2007 chrysler town and country and have 45,000 miles on the car i purchased new from a dealer who is now closed.i have had to purchase 3 sets of brakes on the car and i have only owned it 2.5 years.

This is being filed for someone else of norwalk, ct, who drives a van adapted for her to drive from the wheelchair.on september 2, 2011, she hit the back of a honda civic on connecticut ave in norwalk, ct when her servo gas/brake system failed.this system is equipped with a backup brake for this type of emergency but the backup brake was not working.she had no indication that the backup brake was not working before she started to drive.the manufacture of the electric servo gas/brake system is automotive innovations, 4 first street, p.o. Box 474, bridgewater, ma 02324-0474, tel:(508) 697 8324.jim sanders, owner of automotive innovations, claims that it is a maintenance issue.i believe that the system should warn the user if the backup brake is not working before they start driving.i am the engineer who inspected the gas/brake system after the accident and it is my info below.

On the chrysler town & country( i have a 2007) the brakes are under sized and need to be replaced ever 10,000 miles. My concern is that someone won't realize they need to replace the brakes and be in an accident.hopefully no one will be injured if the brakes fail.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the brakes made a grinding noise while driving 55 mph. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who replaced the front disc brake pads, front rotors, front calipers and cleaned the rear parking brake assembly. The failure continued to occur and the vehicle also began to vibrate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the front rotors were warped. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic who replaced the front rotors and he lubricated the calipers. While driving 55 to 65 mph, the contact noticed that the brakes began to malfunction which was 12,000 miles after they were repaired. 4,000 miles after the second brake repair, the rear brakes began to grind and the dealer stated that they needed to be adjusted. When the brake failure recurred, the mechanic installed new front brake pads, inspected the hydraulic system, cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes. The front pads and front calipers were replaced 12,000 miles after they were repaired. The mechanic resurfaced the front rotors, the cooper washers were replaced, and the brake system was also flushed. The failure continued to occur; therefore, the master cylinder was replaced and the front rotors were resurfaced. The rotors were also recently rotated which also did not correct the failure. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that there were no related recalls since the brakes were considered normal wear and tire. The failure mileage was 18,718. The current mileage was approximately 67,000. Updated 11/03/10. *lj

Brakes failed for the second time in 2months rotors are warped and pads seem to wear out fast.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country. The contact stated that she had to replace the brake pads at 26,000 miles. The contact had to again replace the brake pads at 55,000, along with the rotors and swing bars. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacture was not notified. The failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 55,000.

2007 town & country touring, when depressing the brake pedal, it would continue to go down almost to floor. The consumer also stated he heard a slight groan noise coming from the right wheel when he made a left turn.the dealer claimed they didn't hear a noise.

Chrysler town and country 2007: brakes wearing out with great frequency.we are taking it in tomorrow to a brake shop, and this is the third time in about 10 months that the van has needed brake repair.very frustrated and feel it must be something inherent to the vehicle as two different mechanics/shop repaired the last 2 times.safety issue.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler town and country.the contact stated that the brakes in her vehicle were defective.she took the vehicle to the dealer on numerous occasions and had the brakes repaired 11 times.the brakes would grind and failed to function to their full capacity when attempting to stop the vehicle.it felt as if the brakes would fail completely.the contact filed two complaints with the manufacturer, but they did not assist any further.the current mileage was approximately 38,250 and failure mileage was 9,516.

Whinning noise in power steering grumbling noise hard turning.

Chrysler town and country 2007- shortly after refueling the vehicle, with no warning the rpm's will drop and the engine will stall. This event usually happens as i am merging into traffic from the gas station. This is a very dangerous situation because the power brakes and steering assist is lost during a stall!

After refueling the van will sputter and sometimes shut off.would hate to be on a major highway or intersection when this occurs. Hate getting any gas any more.

While the vehicle is in motion and i drive slowly or fast through a large puddle of water the water splashes up and i loose power steering.the steering becomes difficult to manage once out of the water and about 30 seconds later the power steering returns.no other time do i loose power steering.daily the van makes loud noises likea whistling/purring or a ting once starting the car in the morning which a different customer attributed to the power steering possibly.also the whining or whistling noise does increas with excelleration.it is weird.this has been happening since april of 2011 when i bought it used from the dealership.

When driving in heavy rain and standing water the power steering will go out.water somehow gets the belts wet, which have a loud screeching sound, with that the power steering will fail which has almost caused me to wreck the vehicle several times.this problem is ongoing and has happened since i came into possession of the vehicle.

2007 chrysler town and country with stow and go seats, driving down a street in lubbock, tx the lane had about 3 inches of rain water in it.heard a loud noise on the bottom of the van.the next day i discovered that the spare tire assembly was missing.though this may not be a safety concern to me, it may be to others following.i think the water pressure splashing on the bottom of the van caused the cable holding the spare tire assembly to loosen and eventually snap.

Our van was sitting in our driveway on a day that was cooling from 69f to about 50f at 7pm. We had just gotten back from a drive to the store.the rear hatchback window exploded spontaneously, leaving a 1 foot x 6 inch hole on the passenger side and a 6 inch roundish hole on the drivers side. Both holes were a little lower than the middle, top to bottom.the window was completely shattered in small pieces, top to bottom, and the slightest shake caused pieces to fall off and the holes got bigger.

Rear window exploded while vehicle parked.

If i use the key fob or the interior panel button to raise the tailgate it will start to shut on its own and will push then pin you down quickly to the vehicle until someone hits either button or it finally disengages which takes awhile. It doesn't bounce back up if it touches your body. Tailgate will sometimes start raising and shutting several times. Mostly happens if the weather is cool to cold. The vehicle is stationary - loading groceries. Manually unlocking it at the tailgate the door will not stay up but it does not pin. Mostly happens when temperatures are cool to cold. It started doing this since last year around the holiday season. Last time was early march 2016. Reporting so interested buyers know to ask about this issue if its not cold and for present owners watch for this problem when loading items and to keep children/elderly away from tailgate at all times when open.

We have noticed an extreme amount of rust in the wheel wells and the frame of the sliding doors. This van has been well cared for and do not think the rust is a feel caution of its care. I am unsure if the sliding door frame will remain intact and we may need to stop opening it up.

He states he has taken it to the dealer several times.the consumer also stated the transmission had to be replaced a couple of times, as well as the torque converter.

Over the past year, all four valve stems have broken off each tirespressure monitoring sensor resulting in an unexpected flat tire.the first was while routine airing of the tire, the second was in a car wash, and two occurred in one day as i attempted to take off the stem caps.the ease at which all four broke is extremely concerning (simply unscrewing the cap, for example), and so it seems to me that it is complete plausible that the stems could have snapped off while on cruising on the freeway or driving in congested traffic, causing a flat tire at speed, which would have resulted in an extremely dangerous situation.after checking a chrysler minivan blog, it appears this issue is common among all chrysler/jeep/dodge vehicle with this type sensor.i have checked with chrysler but am not aware of any recall with this device.

The tire pressure monitor sensor and valve stem.this part keeps on breaking for no apparent reason.i had to replace at least 4-5 of them.yesterday, the stem fractured when i was traveling down a county highway about 40 mph.i was able to safely coast to a stop and changed the flat.i had the valve/sensor replaced which cost me about $100.that is nothing compared with the potential hazard of the stems breaking at higher speeds.the situation could have been catastrophic.i believe the part has a design flaw. It is made of white metal or aluminum and does not hold up.the sensors are quite expensive.newer ones are plastic or even a different design.maybe other folks are having the same issue?

My wife's chrysler minivan died at 40mph while driving today. Had only manual steering to pull over to the side of the road. Could have caused an accident. After a few seconds it started driving normally. What is wrong with my minivan it is in excellent condition. Checked under hood all fluid levels are ok.

My horn has quit working, weather moving or stationary, it doesn't even sound when i lock my doors.but the cruise control still works.

I hate to jump on the "stuck gas pedal " band-wagon here but i have a 2007 chrysler town & country that i have been having issues with. When i get in the van and start it the gas pedal gets stuck in the "up" position. Now, once i press hard on it, it breaks it free. But the problem is when i have to press hard on it breaks loose and causes the van to accelerate rapidly. Now, it does this very often, i would say it does it about 60 to 70% of the time. Also, it will do it several times a day, for example. It will do it first thing in the morning, then again after i stop to get gas, then again when i get in it to head home for the day. Anytime, when i stop and shut off the motor, i run the risk of it getting stuck when i start it. I contacted the dealer about the problem and they told me they knew "exactly" what the problem was, now this tells me that there is an issue with this and there needs to be a recall. I have never lodged a complaint about anything but this is pretty dangerous, and if they know "exactly" what is wrong with it chrysler needs to do something about it. The dealer i took it to was cass burch chryslervaldosta ga.this problem started at around 25,000 to 30,000 miles.the van now has 50,000 miles.

I was driving to work on a city street that was in good repair (no potholes or rough road). Back window just shattered. While driving down the highway, we heard a very loud explosion sound. It was so loud, that at first, we thought that there was an accident behind us. Our rear van window had a whole approximately 12"x14" on the driver's side.each corner of the window also had large chunks of glass missing.large cracks were running horizontally through the glass. We had no cars directly around us, did not recently drive under an overpass, and had no object inside of the van that could have caused the glass to explode. This is the second time that we have had this happen to this vehicle.the first time it occurred, the car was parked in a parking lot, and when we approached the van, we saw the glass had shattered and was outside of the van on the ground indicating that no one had broken into the van.
