Chrysler sebring recallit's been 6 months since i got this recall notice. Thank fully i have a spare car to use as i have a 5 year old daughter and i refuse to drive her in this car. I refuse to because if something did happen, chrysler would blame me for riding in a recalled car that's been in a recall for six months now! this is ridiculous! if the car wasn't paid for,i'd sell it to get rid of it. I'd never sell a car in a recall so i am stuck with it until the year 2020 when they finally decide to make the part to fix it. I know i will never never buy another chrysler. Should have just went with a nissan or toyota and i wouldn't have this problem!

The electronic throttle control light came on. The car decelerated and was idling high/rough. It will not pick up speed beyond 25-30 mph.

Well i have been at chysler concerning my brakes, smell of smoke and my engine keep coming on and each time poor customer service. They will not tell me what exactly is going on and i am very upset with the poor customer service. This is taking time from my work and cost consuming. My car has 11,051 miles and that is ridiculous that i go back and forth. I am very upset of the poor service and feel they are not putting the proper parts in my car. My break still squeak and i brought extra warranty for this car. The poor service and deciet is terrible. I am going to the media with this issue. Nothing has not change and i called customer service at the chysler corporate office and they treated me with total disrespect.

Whitish/grayish smoke was billowing out of front end of car. Patrons driving alerted us & we exited vehicle. As we vacated vehicle we realized purse was still in vehicle, we ran to retrieve it & as we retrieved belongings, fire engulfed front end of vehicle & shot through front of vehicle & engulfed the entire front portion of vehicle & inside of vehicle. Power steering fluid dripped on engine which ignited thefire. As fire firefighters extinguished the first fire & as the first fire died down the vehicle erupted in flames once again which was ignited by fuel. Power steering fluid and battery acid causing the flames to shoot through the front end of the car (inside) to the back of the vehicle towards fuel tank. The vehicle was a potential fire ball. Vehicle is a charred totaled shell of a car. Towed to a towing/storage lot waiting for inspection by field engineers of chrysler as well as your team per sabrina case # 10733613.

The check engine light came on aug 2016. Garage says it needs a new integrated control module, told them to order one, they said it will take several months because 100's are on back order, they said to go ahead and drive the car. The windshield wipers are not working now (june 2017) and the garage says it is because of the integrated control module. The module is still on back order and we are number 450 or such. This seems to be a common problem the the sebring (now chrysler 200). We wonder what will go wrong next, will the engine die or worse maybe it will speed out of control.

I've spent $1500.00 on electric alone. I've been notified there is a recall on tis vehicle (seatb er let's & airbags) . I would like chrysler to buy this car back so i can get a dependable vehicle that's safe.

I was driving my vehicle at 55 mph when my electronic throttle control light came on and my speed drop down to a stuttering 35 mph which almost cause the car behind me to rear end me. I have the bumper to bumper power train warranty but i was told that the part my not be covered.

On september 18problem occurred againthe red light which looks like a lighting bolt came on . Lost power pull over on interstatecrank up again work fine until september 25 when it stall again had to get a tow truck again to take it to another shop. They told me thatthe first shop should not havereplace throttle that only work temporarily. So they replace the whole throttle and reprogram this costme a total of $733. Takata recall-my electronic throttle and throttle petal is not working. It stopped working on monday as i was driving home. As i was driving home coming down glenwood avenue in raleigh. All of a sudden, i was not able to give gas to the car and the car slowed down almost causing an accident since we were driving at a certain speed. I had to get in the right lane and coast to the light and turned the corner to park the car to find out what was going on. I had to get my brother to drive behind me as i coast home not able to give the car gas because it was not working. My car is currently at the mechanic around the corner from my home and a diagnostic has been done on the car and i was told that i needed an electronic throttle and a throttle petal replaced. I keep everything on my car care up to date. I seen a recall on my vehicle for the electrical system but was told that that information is incorrect for my car. I need an investigation down on this since this is an electrical issue. Please get back with my with this information. I was able to take a picture of the error message that came up on the dashboard.

Car went dead on road due to a bad total intergrated power module

This incident occurred will traveling on the freeway at 65 mph. Without notice the electronic throttle control light illuminate and the car decelerated from 65mph to 35mph. This deceleration almost cause the car following to almost rear-end my car. This problem has occurred on other dodge/chrysler vehicle. I would like for this to be investigated before someone lose their life.

While driving to work, my chrysler seabrings windshield wipers started moving on their own. At first it was maybe once . After a couple of days they stopped working completely.not having working windshield wipers in florida is dangerous because it pretty much rains every day. I took my car to a local chrysler dealership and now i am being charged $1100 a switch and a tipm. I had no idea what a tipm was so i looked it up on the internet. Seems chryslerhas a defective part on almost all of their vehicles which control all electricaldevices. This situation is so unfair. These tipm parts should be replaced free of charge.

Periodic loss of throttle control. Throttle light will come on usually while idling at a stop, car starts shaking, will not accelerate. Almost got into a wreck.i have two kids with me in the car. I thought it was safe because throttle body was replaced and didnt have problems for a couple weeks since then! mechanics cant even figure out the problem.

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled twice in the last six months. The check engine warning light and all the other warning lights illuminated. My car's electronic throttle control light comes on when i am in motion.the etc turns off when the car is cut off and restarted. I feel unsafe driving the expressway being that i drive for a living.

Car keeps losing power while driving and the etc warning light keeps coming on every other day, take it to get a diagnostic code reading and nothing comes up.

The car is less then 6mo i purchased the car with extended warranty, they now saying that the extended warrant only cover the engine and the transmission, the electronic throttle control is faulty, the whole throttle body has to be replace the shop then tells me that throttle body on the car was from a junk yard the sensor is warped. J.d byryderhas been giving me the run around about fixing my car that i still pay a car note on every two weeks. And have never missed a payment.

I was driving my car last week and the electronic throttle control light came on then went off happened maybe 3 or 4 times but nothing of it... So today i'm on my way from work i make a stop on my way home go to start the car and leave and i turned the key but nothing the radio and lights all work but it's not even attempting to start. I thought maybe i needed a jump i tried that and still nothing i have roughly 56000 miles and i service the car regularly i need an explanation because this is obviously a common problem from multiple threads i've read about this car. Chrysler needs to be held accountable!!!!

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler sebring. While making a turn, the vehicle shut off and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was placed in park and restarted. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure recurred, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000.

My son was driving forward up a hill. While driving the car started rolling backwards while in drive gear. Then while the vehicle decided to roll backwards in drive gear he was unable to stop. Since my son was unable to stop he put the car in park the vehicle still continue to roll backwards. As a result my son jumped out of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled down the hill and hit a tree and boulders. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership and they found nothing wrong. However a witness seen what was happening to my son in disbelief. This vehicle is very unsafe for anyone to drive,

I was getting off the freeway and the car started to slow down and stutter so i turned off the main road and the engine turned off and the power steering went out. Luckily it was a sunday so there wasn't any traffic behind me but if there had been there could have been an accident since i had no control over power steering or the engine shutting off. There was no indication on the dash board that there was a major issue. I tried to start it a few times but had to wait over 5 minutes before it finally started. I took it to the mechanic the next day and after looking it over they said i needed a new engine. It didn't make sense because i change the oil every 3,000 miles and the check engine on the car says there is a gas cap issue. It says nothing about the engine having a problem. I was told the 2.7 engine has alot of problems and mine had built up oil sludge. Once in a while the car would say to change the oil or say there is an issue with the oil pressure but every time i took it in to get checked i was told the oil is fine. Without the dash telling me there is a serious issue a mechanic will not know of the oil sludge problem until they tear apart the engine. This is extremely dangerous the dash warning system is supposed to let you know when there is an issue with the engine. I really think chrysler should stop making cars all together because i have seen so many complaints about the issue and there is not enough media out there letting us know of this. It is a big safety hazard we need to know when the engine is so bad it may shut off in traffic. I just had my safety and emissions done 2 months before and it passed just fine so nothing in the alert system warns of an engine problem.

My husband was driving downs the freeway, we were on our way to a wedding next thing we know the made a noise and start slowing way down while on the freeway. Luckily my husband was able to pull over. The car totally stop working. We waited for a little while and the car started back up we were trying to get out of the hot sun. That day it was a whopping 90 degree outside i was very upset. We we able to get the car to the other side of freeway to pull off and the car went out again and would not start.we called a toll trunk which took them an hour to get to us. What had happened is the timing chain broke inside the engine and messed up a lot of other things inside the engine. The said they fixed it but around 29,000 miles and 6 months went by and the same thing occurred again getting ready to pull of at my moms house. The car dealer would not fix for free, the manufacturer only offered to fix the timing change for half off. Which the cost for that was $1800. This was defiantly a safety issue and i do not want this car even though i'm paying my car note still on time for the last 2 years. I am so dissatisfied with this vehicle. Please do an investigation. The is not fixed to this day. The car need to be salvage.

Jumped to mining chain at 159,000 miles i don't understand how or why .

The contact owned a 2010 chrysler sebring. While driving approximately 20 mph, the contact noticed smoke under the vehicle. The contact stopped the vehicle and exited. I purchased a 2010 chrysler sebring with a 2.7 liter lh engine from meador jeep dealership in approximately 2014.it had approximately 32k miles on the odometer.as i am retired, and no longer have a commute to work, i do not drive more than 8k a year.in february 2016i heard a rattling noise in the engine and took the car to the dealer for diagnosis and repair.on february 25, 2016 the dealership replaced the timing chain ("timing tensioner") for a cost of $795.83.when i picked up my car, chris, one of the service writers, advised me to drive the car more often, and to be hard on the engine.on approximately may 5, 2016 i was driving home on the freeway, and the engine stopped working. As i was not able to restart it, i had the car towed back to meador jeep for diagnosis.according to chris, the service writer, the engine was "blown" and could be repaired for $12,000. The engine had only 40k miles on it.i have researched the chrysler 2.7 liter v6 engine online, and have found that these engines are notorious for water seeping into the oil, creating a thick sludge that leads to catastrophic engine failure.

The contact rented a 2010 chrysler sebring touring. The contact stated that while attempting to park, the steering was difficult to turn and emitted a clicking noise. Smoke also emitted from under the hood and within a second, the front end was on fire. The seattle fire department was present. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard for further investigation. The failure and current mileages were 38,217.

The electronic throttle light comes on and the rpm decreases then engine stalls. Several times i was able to restart engine and it has now completely failed. I see numerous reports of this issue online but no specific repair for this defect.

The car died on the road while i was making the turn and when i went out to see what happened the car left a trail of clearish fluid. Keep in mind that my car has only 73,000 miles on it

Driving vehicle on interstate with no warning car lost speed, stalled then shut off. Would not start back up. Vehicle tut owed to license mechanic and engine pistons was broken. Engine blew up without signs. Less than 64,000 miles.

The vehicle was not inspected for the failure nor repaired. The current and failure mileages were 59,000.

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler sebring. The contact started the ignition and a loud rattling noise emitted from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The failure recurred whenever the engine was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to determine the cause of failure or pinpoint where the noise was coming from. The manufacturer was notified and the engineer was unable to provide a resolution. The approximate failure mileage was 4,888 updated 04/10/12

On 16jul2011 i tried to turn on my air condition in my vehicle but all it did was blow hot air. I took the vehicle to chrysler greenbrier in chesapeake va where the vehicle was purchased. Before they inspected the vehicle one of the sales person told"we'll im going to tell you now i we find that your air compressor was damaged we can fix it but it will not be covered on your warranty because we are not responsible for natural damage". After they inspected my vehicle he responded "i have bad news your compressor has a hole, maybe a rock hit it" and the price to fix it would be 1,500. I explained to him i did not have any accidents, did not hit anything at all. I have contacted the better business bureau. They stated chrysler responded they are not responsible. I am so upset i just purchased this vehicle last year september and have been without air condition since july of this year.

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler sebring. The contact discovered the tail lights were off and when she engaged the headlight power switch, the tail lights illuminated. The manufacturer advised that the tail lights were designed to illuminate automatically and a possible failure could exist in the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed for the failure. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileages were 13,483.

First time anything happened - hotoil warning, check engine light and a weird temp light came on - but all gauges were fine and car was driving fine.took it to a couple different places to have a diagnostic run on the car.codes came back that the ecm and tcm were not communicating.system was reset and car was fine.a few weeks later same thing.my husband was driving and it also quit shifting.at a stoplight we felt a clunk as it slipped into gear lights went out and everything seemed fine.about a week ago - same thing happened, took it to chrysler garage and for $100.00 ran a diagnostic and told us that the powertrain control module was defective.they updated the computer and it seemed to work fine.tonight (only a week since it was updated) all of the lights came back on and it has quit shifting.i am going to have to go back to chrysler for a $3000.00 + replacement of the entire pcm (powertrain control module is the main computer system in the car) i have a warranty on the powertrain - but of course this part is not covered - even though it is the powertrain control module.it seems odd to me that the 2009 sebring had a recall for this exact part and so did the 2011, but not the 2010.strange -- and i can honestly say i hate chrysler --- totally rude and unconcerned about the financial burden this will cause my family --- if the pcm is required for the powertrain to function properly - it should be considered part of the powertrain and should be covered under the warranty.also i would be very interested to know why the 2010 is not being recalled for the same part as the 2009 and 2011.

Etc light comes on and vehicle will not accelerate it happens when i start the vehicle when i drive it happens constantly i took vehicle to chrysler dealership and was told it wa the throttle body paid 800 dollars still have the etc and same issue happening. This is a libility and accident waiting to happen it is unsafe to drive a vehicle and have it lose acceleration why driving up hill or highway.

My car's electronic throttle control light comes on when i am in motion.the etc turns off when the car is cut off and restarted. I feel unsafe driving the expressway being that i drive for a living.

Check engine light came on and i started having erractic shifting, codes came back as po755, p0700, p0716, p1607. This vehicle's transmission will not shift. I have taken to numerous shops half of them say it the pcm the other say it needs a transmission replacement. I have had the shift solenoid b replaced by dealership only for them to charge me then tell me it need a transmission replacement. The vehicle will still drive forward and backward but will not shift gears at all.losses acceleration every so often then harsely goes back into gear while in motion.

I was notified of a recall back in september 2016. It is now august 2017 and there is still not a remedy. It's entirely too long of a time for me and my daughter to ride in that dangerous car! too long and they don't seem to care at all.

I checked the box for sebring, buti have a 2010 pt cruiser. Their was no option for pt cruiser.ipurchased the car 2/25/2010.it hasa defective driver seat.side of seat keeps breaking. Numerous patch repairs have been made by the dealership from may to today--9/17/2010.at one time the seat moved forward and my knees were locked against the steering column and the seat would not move back.car has a power seat.most of the patch repairs only lasted for 2- 3 weeks. Seat clips, side mounting stand, seat cushion, cover have all been replaced at least twice.clips have been replaced numerous times.dealership says problem is a design flaw, and that they have seen several pt cruisers with the problem.i asked repeatedly for a new driver seat.two weeks ago,i took my complaintto chrysler service and they refused to authorizea new seat.dealership told me that the seat does not come as a single replacement unit, and that all parts would need to be replaced to build me a new seat bottom.the dealership finally agreed today to do this.in calling chrysler on a follow up today, chyrslerinformed me that repairs would not be reimbursed to the dealership unless the dealership could justify all the parts were broken.the car is currently under warranty...about 10,500 miles.i have not paid for any repairs, but it is a big inconvenience (and i think a safety hazard). Dealership says chrysler needs to make a design modification.i have owned 5 pt cruisers. This is the only one that has been troublesome. I have photos of the breakdown.i am losing patience and trust in the company.i am considering pursuing lemon law rights.

My tire valve stem busted causing my tire to go flat while driving. This is the second one that has broke. Worried for safety especially with children in the car.

Purchased brand new 2010 chrysler sebring on january 24, 2011 from sterling hgts dodge in sterling hgts, mi. Ever since i got the car, the idiot tire pressure warning light comes on after driving on the xway about 10 miles and stays on for a few days, then goes off. It comes on when it rains or is real cold outside under 20 degrees and stays on. I check the tire pressures on all 4 tires and there is nothing wrong. I drove it to the dealer, and they said that this is a common occurrence with these sensors. They checked my tire pressures and all were correct.just drive it some more miles and the light will go off was what was said to me. This problem is consistently going on and off every week!something needs to be done by some outside agency to force chrysler to replace all these tire sensors. Every week like clockwork, the same thing happens. I am tired of it. I am tired of not getting help from chrysler.

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler sebring limited. The contact stated the tire pressure monitoring system and the information system were both defective. The tpms did not indicate that the tires had lost pressure. The information system did not alert her to any issues with the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic who could not pinpoint the problem. The vehicle had not been repaired. The current mileage was 36,270. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

The electronic throttle control light came on. The car decelerated and was idling high/rough. It will not pick up speed beyond 25-30 mph.

Rpm is very high but will still drive.

Wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes they just quit working during a rain storm and other times they change speed on their own and other times they stop right in your field of vision during a rain storm. You can sometimes get them working again by pulling off the road if you can do safely and shut the car off and restart it and things go back to normal. I had a mechanic look at it and there is nothing wrong mechanically wrong with the wiper motoror linkage. The problem is with the integrated body computer that controls the wiper system. I told my chrysler dealership about it and they said that there wasn't a recall about it yet and that yes it is the computer that is the problem and other people are having the same problem. This is a serious safety problem that needs fixed before there are fatal accidents.

My tire valve stem busted causing my tire to go flat while driving. This is the second one that has broke. Worried for safety especially with children in the car.
