I reported these problems back in september 2011 after i was involved in a car accident on the freeway. On september 03, 2011, i was driving on south i-43 freeway. When i attempted to make a lane change, my car went out of control due to steering failure. I could not steer my car, my steering wheel was very loose and there was no connection between the steering wheel and the vehicle itself. I was struck by another driver that hit my car on the passenger-side by the rear lower side panel. No airbag deployed. My car slammed up against the concrete wall barrier on the passenger-side of my car. I have side airbags, airbags in my seats, underneath my dash, in my steering wheel, one on the passenger's side above the glove compartment, and in all four window seals of my car and not one airbag deployed. I have adr system in my car that supposedly can record seconds of activity at the time of the accident. What happened to that information? i am still experiencing problems with my care that is definitely a safety issue such as;continuing replacing tie rod and the stabilizer bar loose. This problem started first having problems trying to turn the key in the ignition switch to crank the car and at times fearing that i might break the key in the ignition switch and having to really wiggle the steering wheel to get the switch to turn over. Pictures that were taken by my insurance company revealed a lot of rusty old looking parts underneath the car when in fact the motor of the car still looks new. My car was only two years old with a little over 17,000 miles at the time of purchase in october 2010. When i reported these all of these things in september 2011, i was told that there was no recalls on my car and i doubt if this car has any airbags in it. I learned after, i had the accident in my car, that the car had been wrecked and had possible frame damage at the time of purchase.

Both driver side and passenger side airbags are in a "fail/safe" position. The code that was given is b1b02, driver airbag squib circuit open

Front driver seat started feeling loose, airbag light came on, low tire light came on and check oil light would come on every time car is started. A few days later the car didn't feel right and started making a loud knocking noise, took it to the mechanic and found out that tensioner belt became loose causing damage to the car.i had to get a new alternator, tensioner & pull, and transmission flushed/serviced as well as the power steering.not very happy with this 2008 sebring!!!!!

Driversseat moves when coming to stop, air bag light comes on and off and will stay on at times seat belt dont retract

The airbag light of my vehicle came on two days ago without this vehicle having any accident. I started the vehicle in the morning and as soon as i left my driveway the air bag light came one. The airbag is however intact and has never been deployed. I am just surprise an airbag will come one without the vehicle having any crash.

Takata recall. During the course of a year since i've purchased this car, i have experienced issues with what i believe to be power steering. Twice while coming to a stop (stop sign or light), my steering would lock along with my brakes. When i took it to a shop i was told my thermostat needed replaced. I told them to fix the issue. On april 17th while driving home from work a little after midnight this same issue occurred only while i was still driving. I was able to force my wheel to turn enough to drive up the bend i was driving around rather than the school in front of me. Finally i hit a pole and my car has been ruled as a total loss. I have many concerns in regards to what actually happened and why.

When i start the car there is a loud knocking noise in the glove compartment area. Thus went on randomly when start or park the car. Now the airbag light stays on while the car is on. The noise would last a couple minutes at a time

While i was sitting in my car at the traffic light which was red at the time. A dwi truck driver speeding and hit a movingcar and push the car into my car and the drunk truck driver hit my car next at the same time cause another camy car and the speeding dwi driver in the truck hit my car and my car was totalout and i receive serious life time injury from the wreck .the dwi driver was given a traffic ticket and was taken to jail, however my air bags did not go off.i wastold by the doctor if my bag would have deployed i wouldn't have been injured so bad.

I was in a car accident on june 19 2015 the front end of my car total loss my car air bags didn't deploy. I was injured in this accident i would like information on what can be done...updated 03/08/17

Horn stared going off on its own, while driving or just sitting, then the transmission started lagging, rpms drop while i'm driving and am unable to get back up to speed for a minute. I drive on the interstate daily for work and both of these are a huge hazard for me and other drivers.i assume the problems are related being as they both went crazy at the same time. While driving on the interstate to work my car just sort of died without dieing the rpms dropped and the car tried to die but diidnt. The gas ped stopped working while this was occuring and i was unable to get back up to speed. It eventually kicked out of it but did it again the following week, driving out of my parking lot at work rpms dropped and was unable to use my gas ped.i gotit again to get out of it but all its going to take is this happening and a car behind me and and accident will happen

I had a severe side impact on my 2008 chrysler sebring when another vehicle ran a stop sign and broadsided me.i have side airbags, the curtain airbags and the ones in the seat.not one airbag deployed.chrysler is saying the impact was not sufficient to deploy the bags.i don't accept that.the damage to my car was $8,500.00 and had to replace both front and rear doors and the entire side frame.the air bags should have deployed.

Since purchasing this vehicle last october, the instrument cluster lights has stopped working on a few occasions.at some point they would work again momentarily but only to stop again.only a portion of the cluster would remain lit. The instrument cluster lights are currently not working on our vehicle.

I purchased this vehicle used last november from a private seller. Since then i have had to replace the airbag clock spring, battery cables, and now i am experiencing problems with my windows and coolant temperature sensor. My passenger side window has fallen into the door several times do to a faulty track. My driver side window has completely stopped working do to a faulty button. And lastly, my coolant temperature sensor failed on me 2 months ago. I cannot drive any further than a mile without my car redlining. I checked for a leak in my hoses and seals and have found nothing. My antifreeze reservoir burns so hot it actually evaporates the antifreeze. I have gone through 6 full size bottles of antifreeze in a 2 months period. I have a noticeably high idle whenever the car starts to get the below the full line and now i have an engine ping. The overheat issue occurs whenever it decides it wants to. My dashboard display goes in and out intermittently and my windshield wipers turn on at random whenever i use my signal to make a left turn. This vehicle is full of electrical problems that i cannot afford to fix. The truth is, i purchased this vehicle with the small cut of life insurance money i got the my mother passed away. I am disabled and this is currently my only source of transportation. There needs to be some serious looking into the chrysler sebring from 2006 on up. I cannot be the only one experiencing this myriad of problems.

The battery is in the driver's side front wheel well and the tire must be taken off to get to the battery.cannot even get a jump to get the car started. Have to have a tow.battery ran down alternator.now have to replace both battery and alternator.

We have a 08 chrysler sebring it was takento nissan about 2 months ago we were told it was the battery charged 75. For a diag fee. The car itself dies when at a stop sign or red lite it will suddenly rev up the motor and just turn off. It started to stall and not turn on the battery was having to be charged over and over. Finally we changed the starterand bought a new battery that was 2 months ago.now it isdoing the same thing the battery is dying we have just taken it in to get recharged just to find out if it is the alternator. The recall that was done on the sebring for the tire pressure monitor does not include our car. I don't see how the same vehicle the same year is doing the exact same problems does not get included in the recall.

The car will stall..with little to no notice.it makes you loose control of the whole car. The electronic throttle control light which will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and restart.

The car sometimes stalls.on several occasions, mostly during or after it rains, it will just cut off.it cuts off at stop lights and while i'm driving.there are no indications on the dashboard before it cuts off.it always starts back up after each incident.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the tpms warning lamp flashed and remained lit. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer more than twice, but they were not able to diagnose and repair the vehicle. The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph, there was excessive hesitation and the vehicle responded as it would stall. There was no warning indicators illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently, when driving 65 mph or greater. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 12,500.

I was traveling back to los angeles,ca from sedona, az.it had been raining off/on all day.sometimes lightly and often times very heavy with wake water coming off of other cars and trucks on a very busy ca highway.my windshield wipers completely stopped working during heavy downpour twice.had to crawl off the freeway while unable to see because of no wipers.had to wait at least 15 minutes before they would work again after the first failure.was able to travel using the delayed intermittent sequence until rain got too heavy.when switched to faster wiping after ten minutes wipers stopped again.luckily again i was able to crawl to the side of the road, and i waited for the rain to stop.i have not had this happen before and i have driven long and short distances in the rain. Another issue is i have had on three different occasions over the last year and 1/2, the car shut off/stall while waiting at red lights, and once while the car was moving it started to stall.at no time did the engine malfunction light,or electrical light come on or stay on.i was told by chrysler technicians/mechanics that unless the light stays on they can't diagnose the problem. Otherwise the failure had to be duplicated, i.e, have to occur in the presence of the technicians.well you know how that goes.i understand that my car was not part the 08v152000 recall, but this situation is dangerous.please help.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. Car has stalled while driving 4 times in the last week that we have owned it. Took it to dealer to get looked at and it is the tipm that costs $1000 to fix.

My win module is no good or my cars computer.when i drive my car shuts off.

After a few days of the windows not operating properly and the car hesitating at times during acceleration, it would not start after being parked for an hour.the vehicle was towed and it was diagnosed as the tipm was not working and that it had been supplying continuous power to the fuel pump and the wires were burned!this certainly sounds like a fire hazard.this repair cost over $1000 with $677.50 being for parts. I see that jeeps have been recalled and there are other similar complaints about the tipm for vehicles.why is this not a recall item?

Bought battery and somethg is still draining and it keeps hsppening

While driving - electrical issues. Fuel gage does not work. Dashboard display lights go out intermittently, power window issues, tire pressure (tpms) light comes on,

Cab wires to battery caught on fire with family riding in vehicle part was order and replace two months later causing the alternator going out tire pressure light cuts off and on and engine light cuts off and on dealer told me it was still under factory warranty took it to the chrysler dealer told them about the four recalls i found on the car and the dealer is saying the vin number doesn't match but my car is have all the descriptions of all four recalls.

About 2 years ago my tpms sensor on my driver side stop working, not even a month later my car started stalling. I would be at a light, stop sign, or pulling out into traffic and it would just stall. So i had the alternator replaced at not even 70,000 miles which solved the stalling issue. Then about a year and a half ago i noticed when i was on the interstate driving to tampa from orlando and i put the cruise control on and my car started slowing down on i4 and almost got me hit by a semi truck but he was thankfully able to swerve into the lane beside me. I called chrysler and told them the issue and they said well there is a recall on the tpms but your vin number doesn't match and turned me away. Then a few weeks later i started having problems with my passenger side door not locking and the window going up before the door was shut, and would have to mess with it to get the door to actually shut. Then about 8 months ago my rpms where jumping erectly and my dad who is a mechanic cleaned all the carbon out in my motor and i was still having the same problem. Then today my car shift would not shift out of park and my dads friend noticed the cable in the motor was popped out and popped it back in. So i drive to class and when i get on campus and go to park my car my var gets stuck in reverse and i had to sit in there for over an hour with my foot on the break before someone was able to help me. This car needs a serious investigation and chrysler refuses to help me when i have less than 95,000 miles on the car and my issues match there recall perfectly. These issues could lead me or someone else to get killed or seriously hurt, but i guess they wont due anything until enough people get killed or injured to realize theres a major problem with this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle would stall at any time, the exterior and interior lights would flash on and off and the cruise control became inoperative.the dealer and manufacturer were notified and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring).the vehicle was not repaired.the approximate failure and the current mileage was 80,000.

Vehicle came to a complete stall while taking left- hand turn on intersection @ ~15mph. It now shows the indicator light for the engine randomly and stalls somewhat frequently at low speeds. Lastly, the trans is slipping rigorously.

Airbag light on dash panel starting flashing on and off.i was driving at the time.i stopped and turned off the engine to see when i restarted if it would stop but it did not.still flashing ever few seconds and then goes off.not sure the reason or it their has been a recall i was unaware of.

Seatbelt light on dash keeps chiming as if i don't have my seat belt on.this chimes and light comes on randomly while in motion. Or parked.

The convertible roof would open with pausing. The trunk was stuck open not closing but you could hear motor. Now trunk closed and stay closed with no motor sound. Convertible top isn't opening but when car drives at 30mph the roof flies open. The dashboard light would go off and on while driving, causing unable to see mph or anything. I can not drive due to fear of being in a accident or causing one since the car is malfunctioning and the roof will fall off on routine driving on highway with speed limits the car can't exceed.

Passenger window exploded in the door while touching control button for window to open toask directions.had to travel by myself to mexico 300 miles away and had to drive all the way back to las vegas with no window.the driver's side window did the same exact thing last summer in 2015.called fca customer assistance center everyday for a week now andthey told me my case was being escalated to a case manager.they would not help me. All i want is for chrysler to pay for the repair of my defective window.i called 1-800-992-1997. They call themselves fca customer assistance center.they were a waste of my time and effort.last window on driver's side didthe very same thing.i want satisfaction!!! i want the window repaired by chyrsler on them as i repaired my last window blowout. Can any one suggest some help as i really need it today and even last week? i'm afraid of driving my own car. Chyrslersshould either bring their windows up to new standards (electrically) or not sell any to people who live in the desert.they are not safe!!!this car is always garaged and has low mileage as i worked close to home. What's this world coming to?who's out there to help me?chyrsler sure is not!!!only god!!!!!!!!!i stopped for directions on this last window explosion, but the other window i was driving to the hospital without stopping.

Had my car going on a year and i have made my trips to ny in august of 2014 a week after i purchased the car and going to mi may of this year and once i turn my headlights off i lose all dash lights when i turn them back on. Had to use my phone for light just to see my speed. Doesn't happen all the time just the 2 times so far when i took my trips from nc n back

This car has a faulty totally integrated power module (tipm). This caused several problems including: the car stalling suddenly while driving at about 50 mph on a straight road, the horn going off intermittently and uncontrollably both while the vehicle was stationary and while it was moving, and a check engine light that would not clear.i replaced the faulty tipm at my own expense and it resolved all these problems. Chrysler has issued recalls for tipms, but they have never recalled the 2008 sebring. I have the original, faulty tipm out of the chrysler that i can send for testing and verification.

Backing out of my driveway the engines suddenly shut down but restarted without an issue.later that daythe red warning light came on and the engine started to have no power and then staled i was able to move to the side of the road and saw the throttle position sensor light was on (witch i looked up in owner manual.was able to get it started again and drove it to my mechanic who tested it and said i needed athrottle body.t hat was replacednow 4 days later i was on a hov lanedoing 65 light came on engine sputtered but didn't stall arrived at destination when i got back in car light was out and car started. Driving home i had to pull over several times when light was illuminated . My concern is driving at highway speeds especially where i live there are long tunnels i travel through hopefully it doesn't do this to anyone driving through them andanywhere that would definitely cause a serious accident , the initial repair to replace throttle body was $271 and an additional $88 for same issue now throttle pedal needs replaced cost at this time unknown

My 2008 chyrsler seabring engine stop on highway and steering wheel lock. The reason why is a chyrsler defected part (tipm) which is total intergrated power module. Chyrsler have a lawsuit on them about this problem. My car is at the dealer for repair. Cost $1100.00 which i have to pay. This problem should be fix for free under recall. Also horn blowing, door window moving , trunk opening, interior light not coming on. It would help i you could contact the dealer concerning my issue. The electronic throttle light is continuously coming on even after repairs.the car will ride find and then all of a sudden cut off with no warning other than the light appearing.also it stalls and you can be in the middle of traffic which is definitely safety hazardous. I've notice that this problem has occurred to thousand and to my surprise no recall.

I purchased a 2008 chrysler sebring in august 2007, from darcars brand new, at the time of purchase chrysler was aware of the recall 6months prior and made no attempt to inform me. My car is currently at the dealership being serviced. I took the car in because suddenly the car begin to make a horrible noise, that i described to the customer service representative as a noisy fan belt, that whinnied while driving, but noisiest while in park, odilimg at the stop light. I took the car in and they pretended not to have a clue, and begin to inquire about oil changes and other suggested maintenance, i showed the writer and mechanic my most current maintenance receipt printout along with the previous dates, so they backed away from the indirect accusations that it was possibly my fault. The power steering pump is defected, the pulley froze, and the alternator.the car has only been used to transport my children to and from school and social events, and my transportation to and from work, grocery stores and things of that nature. My mileage is 31,418.they are behaving as if they don't have a clue, but after looking into several recall links, i am appalled that they knowingly sold me a lemon at regular price, with no discount. I have supporting documents. I only received on recall notice, but being the driver and experiencing the problems, there should have been recalls for recall id 07v473000, and recall dated for april 2, 2008 sebring electrical system;wiring recall id 35950. Also the recall titled engine and engine cooling;cooling system radiator id#55084. The alternator is an electrical operating piece, it also tie into the recall titled "tire pressure monitor, because one of the consequences include stalling, and battery corrosion, and stopping without notice, which is also caused by a defected alternator.i drive two school age children, two grandchildren, 1month, and 13months old. Chrysler put us all in danger knowingly. But still to date acts as if they do not have a clue.

The dash lights go on and off randomly. An easy search on google shows this to be a design flaw with thousands of consumers affected. This should be an immediate recall to replace the 12 volt inverter which is flawed.

Chrysler sebring 2008however,i amhaving problem with the electronic throttle control light which will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and restart.when electronic throttle control light is on you cannot break to stop the car, or speed up. It make you loose control of the whole car increasing the potentiality of accident if you was driving at any speed above 25 mph. I went to chrysler dealerships, but they do not know what is going on with the car or could cause that failure, `and have no idea how to fix it. I do not know if this problem is related to the power train. The problem happened to me already more than 30 times.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle would rev when the brake pedal was depressed.the vehicle behaved as if it would accelerate.in addition, the engine would shut off while idling at a traffic light.the vehicle was able to be restarted immediately.she took the vehicle to the dealer on several occasions, but they could never duplicate the failure or find cause for concern.the dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring).the manufacturer has not been notified.the current mileage was 28,290 and failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

While driving the check engine light came on and the engine stalled. When tested the engine code came back as electrical short.the dealership where i purchased the car did not fix the problem but cleared the engine code.a few weeks later the check engine light came back on. While traveling at 50 mph, and coming to a stop, the engine stopped running and the brakes failed to stop the car. After going thru a red light another car broadsided my car.

Horn and passenger side low beam went out on my 4-cyl. 2.4l 2008 chrysler sebring sedan about a month ago.i replaced the bulb, which is labor intensive on this car in itself and the low beam still did not work.i tested the new bulb and it worked fine.i moved the bulb to the drivers side headlamp and it worked fine.the harness for the bulb connector carries a 12v current but still the low beam does not work.every online search points to a faulty tipm(totally integrated power module).i can't afford a new one at $595 and that's if i replace it myself.i'm unable to find a compatible used part at salvage yards in the area and chrysler dealer says there is currently a month long national backorder on the part and is unsure if i'll have a replacement in a month.this alone should be a red flag that there is an underlying issue at chrysler.in the mean time i continue to search salvage yards and am looking for a way to bypass the tipm to get the headlamp working, which in itself could still leave me open to other failures on the tipm.all this said,i'm wondering if other electrical components will start to go soon as well.as it is i'm having a problem with the horn, which i believe also runs through the tipm.

Key switch sticks on start , moves to acc ,on ,freely. Cannot believe chrysler isn't replacing the switch as it is doing the same thing that i read the 700,000 they recalled.

When i am driving and it is raining or has rained or if the car is wet there is an issue with the car skipping/ stalling out when you accelerate. This only occurswhen the car is wet.it has cut completely off at an intersections before. This usually happens with speeds less than 40 mph or you can hear and feel it pulling/ when driving at higher speeds. I thought it was the spark plugs going bad and had them replaced that they did not fix the problem. This is dangerous because you are not able to determine when it will stall out/skip. I have taken it to the dealership on numerous occasions and they could not determine what the problem could be. Or state no problem found. This has gone one for two years.

All warning lights are on.the head lights are going off. Happens in motion and stationary.

I bought the car 1/02/2016 2 weeks later i am in motioni put my foot on the brake at a red light it takes off on its own, cuts off when i make a stop

The car turns off after driving 30 minutes, the headlights turn off and on at random times, the honk starts honking randomly.

On monday 1/28/2013 after a heavy morning of snowing and raining, i began to run errands. All of sudden my car 2008 chrysler sebring stalled as i was driving. I started the car immediately back up with no problems however shortly afterwards pulling up to a traffic light the car stalled again. Everything in the car goes off as if someone has turned the ignition key to off position. This is very dangerous as there are no warning to the possibility the car is about to stall. Tuesday 1/29/13 i took my car to a local repair chain as it continued to stall and they reported not finding anything electrical wrong with the car nor mechanical. However, they suggested that when cars stall sometimes it may be the spark plugs may need to be replaced. So based on their suggestion i had the spark plugs replaced/tune up. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem as i drove home car stalled. On wednesday 1/20/13, i took the car to another trusted mechanic and they reported the problem being electrical and manufactured due to how the car totally shuts down and not registering with the dash board a problem. On 1/31/13 i had the car towed to the chrysler dealership only for them to confirm, so far, what the other two mechanics already told me, its an electrical problem that is not showing up on dash. For three days the car stalled aprx. 11 times at traffic lights and/or in motion. I have read there was a recall on 2007-2008 chrysler sebring's however when i called chrysler i was told that did not include my car due to it being manufactured a month later than the recall cars. However, the recall notice describes exactly what is happening to my car. I have also communicated with 2 other people to whom have complained about the same stalling issues with the same year and model car. I just hope it does not take someone losing their life before changes are made to solve this problem.

My husband and i are experiencing problems recently with the car stahling out and or getting stuck in low gear while drivingon the hwy, it was terrifying! we are currently not at home and have a 10 hour drive back home while driving this extremely unstable car and am honestly scared to death we are going to get in an accident! this is the 3rd battery swap we've done in 3 months but only have last 2 receipts. We have done research and this car has had electrical recall for this problem however apparently our vin dont match up to the recall. I dont understand it, this is extremely horrible business from chrysler and as soon as we can get home hopefully safely.. We wont buy another. Please help fast!

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 mph with the radio and headlights activated, the entire instrument panel began to illuminate intermittently. The radio and speedometer would not function properly. In addition, the headlights became dim. There was a recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring); however the vin was ineligible. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. The vehicle also erroneously accelerated while the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure but rebooted the electrical system as a precaution. The failure recurred intermittently. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system) and was advised by the manufacturer was that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

So far my 2008 sebring has turned off while driving twice. I was slowing down from 30mph for a stop light and it turned off and was luckily able to utilize the brakes if not i would have rear ended the vehicle in front of me, but as for the steering, it was unresponsive. However, i turned my car back on as if nothing happen until the second time it stalled while turning into my street. Same issue occurred (no steering, but brakes were ok.)car stalls once again good thing my car turns back on immediately. Its was dangerous only for the fact that oncoming traffic would be unable to see me stalled there because road forms a hill over the canal, since soon after i went passed over the canal my street entrance is more or less 20ft from the canal, it could be a blind spot.

My instrumental cluster lights went out so i can not see anything at night.my speed control/cruise control is no longer functioning.

Car has 50,000 miles on it. This has been a problem for years. The ignition switch sticks when car is started and you have to manually turn it back to on so starter will disengage. When i heard of recall recently on other models i was surprised this car hadn't been included.

My 2008 chrysler sebring has been in the shop since november 9, 2019. Defective tipm. The starter has caught fire 3 times. Vehicle stalls out and leaves you in the middle of the road. Battery has been replaced. Ignition switch is getting hot when keys are in and the key gets stuck in ignition. Tipm was replaced. Car is still not running due to dealership not knowing what new parts to try. Have also had several problems with cooling systems/fan not working properly.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle on the first attempt. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer was notified, but did not offer a remedy. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 152,178.

Electrical problems include power seat inoperable; cig lighter/electric port inoperable; random alarm sounding; power top shows top with trunk inoperable.

I was driving in stop and go traffic and started speeding up due to less traffic. I was going 60 mph when my car stopped accelerating and started making this weird revving noise (the kind when you are parked or in neutral), my warning light came on for the electrical panel. I then pulled over because it was not going any faster than 35 mph. Just letting it sit it was making those same noises. I turned the car off and restarted it. The light when away and it was able to drive again. It had a little issue getting back up to speed but overall it went back to normal.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the spark plugs. The vehicle was also taken to a private mechanic who replaced the alternator two times and the battery but the failure recurred. The failure was reported to the manufacturer. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 08v152000 (electrical system: electrical), however, the vin was not included. The failure mileage was 45,000. The current mileage was 60,000.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while waiting at a stop light he noticed that the engine would rev unexpectedly and that it would also stall without any warning. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised him that the battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired for the battery, butthey were unable to duplicate the stalling of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. The vin was unavailable. Tb

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving approximately 35 mph, the horn sounded on its own, the tpms indicator illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, waited ten minutes, and restarted the vehicle. The horn sounded again after a few minutes. The vehicle was driven to the contact's house and was kept in the garage for a couple of months. The vehicle was driven to the dealer (landers chrysler/dodge in south haven, mississippi) where it was diagnosed that the tpms failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

After i received work done on the electrical-recall, my car keeps on stalling. This can be very scary and has almost caused several accidents. My car should not be shutting off while driving. I did not have this problem until after the recall was fixed on my car. This needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning and the tpms warning indicator remained illuminated. An independent mechanic replaced the battery, starter, and alternator; however, the failure continued. In addition, while driving over 60 mph, the vehicle would decelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. Steve white motors (3470 us hwy 70 se, newton, nc 28658, (888) 827-3721) was notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system); although, the vehicle exhibited the same failure. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving 80 mph, another vehicle driving at a high rate of speed sideswiped the contact's vehicle. The impact caused the contact's vehicle to spin around in the opposite direction, facing two semi-trucks. The contact's vehicle stalled without warning. The contact made numerous attempts to restart the vehicle, but the gears were extremely difficult to shift and the vehicle suddenly reversed down a ravine. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop and was inspected by the insurance company. A police report was filed. The contact sustained head, neck, back, and knee injuries that required medical treatment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than three times, but they could not repair the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available...updated 12/11/17

I first noticed the light in the analog click go out, then the light in the shifter and overhead lamp. Most importantly is my power locks stopped working. I purchased a 5 batteries for my remote key and when that didn't work i purchased a new set of keys. The horn and lights would sound but the locks would not lock. I have to manually lock my doors and i'm unable to access my trunk unless i crawl in from the back seat and hit the release. I've had several people look over my car and i no one can figure this out. I finally started researching and i see several recalls but because my car was not built in a certain time and location i'm not qualified for the recalls unless i pay out of my own pocket. I can't even trade it in and get a good enough price due to these malfunctions. I will by no means trust chrysler or dodge vehicles.

Went out to car to go to the store unlocked my car with my remote and horn started sounding for no reason. Tried to press unlock/lock with remote horn still sounding. At that point i got back in my car tried shutting the doors and starting the vehicle alarm still sounding. After about 10 minutes i kept messing with the remote trying to shut off the horn finally the horn stopped. After a huge embarrassment and several by-standers trying to assist me in shutting the horn off i had to leave my car unlocked while i went into thegrocery store. Quickly raced through the store got what i needed went back out to my vehicle started the engine horn continuously went off as i drove home. This is continually happening to me as i drive my car. I feel that this is a safety issue that chrysler needs to repair free of charge.

I was driving and my vehicle started over heating and then wouldn't run. I have put w gone coolant in it several time. The radiator hose top part is completely busted. Needing a new head gasket, and whole top radiator hose now. On top of that the power steering hose is messed up also. My car window also doesn't work. It's stuck rolled down because of an electrical problem. I want it all fixed asap. I can't afford the fix. I am a single pregnant mother who has several appointments to get to and from between my daughter and i. Just going to the store for food has almost been impossible. We have to rely on others to help us. I need my car out the shop. Please help

A throttle control warning light appears on the dash off and on at intermittent times the car loses power and dies without warning. It has died on the highway several times so far, but will restart after a few minutes. It seems to happen when the fuel is less than half way full more than any other time and/or when traveling uphill. Rpm dial on the car jumps erratically just before the throttle warning light appears.problem has not occurred while traveling at less than 45 mph. Afraid that the problem will cause an accident, if it happens when another vehicle is traveling behind me.

3 seperate but related events.my horn began honking at random times, eventually i could not turn it off while in my parking garage at work.ended up removing battery connection to stop the honking.when i arrived home i disconnected the horns.my wipers randomly do not work.i've had to rely on rainx.sometimes they work and other times i cant turn them off.they sometimes stop in the middle of the window.last issue was complete loss of power while driving at 70mph.luckily i was able to pull over.strange thing was it started right back up.but 10 miles later the same thing happened.based on these 3 things happening within the last month i think it is part of the tipm module.many complaints and this item is part of a class action law suit and a voluntary recall for other chrysler vehicle in the same year range as my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced overheating while being operated at low speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the wiring was defective and they would not be able to repair the vehicle. Tyson motor corporation (1 sw frontage rd shorwood, il) was also contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign numbers: 07v473000 (engine and engine cooling) and 08v152000 (electrical system) as possible solutions to the failure. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Bought certified used 2008 chrysler sebring convertible 7/11 with 18,000 miles. Fall, 2011 radio stuck on one am channel regardless of selecting am, fm, or sirius. Dealer offered to sell me new radio. After radio not used for a week, started to function okay again. July, 2012 headlight on message and alarm upon opening door, daytime, no key in ignition, no headlights on, interior dash display lights on but dim like for nighttime. 12/12 interior lights would not shutoff automatically when i exited car, switch not in on position.ongoing: auto brightness display on radio does not work.top down on key fob does not work.winter, 2013 stalled twice at red lights, also had clunking noise when turning.dealer said steering rack was worn and leaking and had to be replaced (35,000 miles) and was not under warranty.dealer also cleaned throttle plate and fuel injectors for stalling problem.even after this service car continued to stall, sometimes catching itself and speeding up which causes car to surge forward. As of today, 8/17/13 car has 40,050 miles on it and i wonder what's next.

On 01/30/09 my 2008 chrysler sebring engine light came on and the car started shaking and loosing power.was able to drive to dealer the next day and the dealer replace one spark plug and ignition coil.then few days later on 2/3/09 the same engine light malfunction indicator came on again and the car started rough and vibrating, return to car dealers for a second diagnostic and the dealer found that the car pcm was faulty.dealer replaced defective pcm.

My father owns a 2008 chrysler sebring limited. Around the year 2014 and 70,000 miles, the car started to act like it was possessed. Radio, hazard lights, interior lights would turn on all by themselves.my father took it to the dealer. They told him that the radio stayed awake while the car was turned off and that this was causing a draw on the battery. They told him he could replace the radio for $900 or just pull the fuse. This would cure the problem. However, the battery was trash and it cost him over $300 to replace.the knew battery didn't last a year. They replaced the battery b/c it was still under warranty. However, now they said, that after the test performed a draw test, there was an intermittent draw of 1 amp or more at times. They couldn't isolate the circuit and that it seemed to be something internal to tipm causing issue. They said they could replace for $765 but would have to recheck, and couldn't guarantee that would fix the problem.they recommend that he should just drive the car to keep the battery charged.i would like to learn more about this class action vs. Chrysler.you can contact me at this email or call me at [xxx]thank you,[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Took my 2008 chrysler sebring to have recall part trans shift interlock spring replaced.when i arrived to pick up the vehicle the battery was dead. The service dept including the manager said the battery must have gone dead while they were replacing the recalled part. All service people including the manager did not even want to jump the vehicle so that we could bring it home.the vehicle had never had a dead battery before this.ever since the part was replaced the battery keeps going dead. Battery was replaced about 3 months ago and still have the same problem. We get no assistance from the local dealership except for them to say they are not responsible.

The contact's wife owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the roadway and waited for approximately 30 minutes before the vehicle was restarted and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system) however, the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 174,000.

Firstly found the driver's seat belt beeps while driving with the seat belt on;one week ago, stopped by the police at night, sayingall the rear lights didn't function, including the stop lights, turn signals;a self checking found all the light bulbs are good, but the front left turn signal doesn't work, both front left and rear right lights are on for a long time after shutting off engine and light switch. Yesterday i took it to olathe chrysler shop/dealer to check up my car.they found both the multi function switch and the totally integrated power module should be replaced. Otherwise the car may catch a fire or lead to accidents. This is 2008 chrysler sebring convertible. As far as i know no accident has happened to it. I am sure this model has hidden safety issues. Because it has the same problem like the newer models of chrysler sebring, dodge, etc. Which have recalls. I don't hope accidents happen to me or others.

As i was driving 70 mph on the highway, the throttle control warning light came and the car begin to loss power and hesitate.i pulled off the road and it began to stall and jump. The car was losing power andi could not go past 45 mph.another problem i am having is the instrument panel light went off and i cannot see the gas gauge, speedometer, etc. The vehicle is currently sitting in the parking lot until i can get it towed to be checked and/or fixed.it currently runs, but i am afraid to drive it.

Problem: 2008 chrysler sebring engine, transmission & electrical problems. I began financing in nov 2013 from toyota of riverside, 1yr and 3 months later on feb 17, 2015 while i was exiting the freeway, my engine light came on, my car completely shutdown, i had no brakes, i was fearful and held onto the steeringwheel coasted near an arco station. I was thankful i did not hit anyone or have an accident. I called aaa who towed me to toyota of riverside. [xxx]the service manager told me i needed to replace the timing belt and the engine for $1500. It took about 3 weeks for the engine to be repaired, my car was returned on march 12, 2015. However, i noticed when i received my car back the cruise control lever near the steering wheel was hanging loosely and was not attached. Weeks, later the electronic speed control light and the engine light came on along with problems shifting. I sent pictures of my engine light being on from my phone to [xxx]and [xxx]and went to see [xxx]who told me the transmission need repair and it would cost $3000 to $4000." i went to moss brothers riverside, [xxx]on 09/17/15 did a diagnostic. He told me there is an auto transmission shift lever recall and a spring hook retainer he can replace for free. He also replaced a stop lamp switch binds andreprogrammed the pcm for $290. I picked up my car on 9/22/15 it continued to stall, returned it to moss brothers [xxx] said it may be a transmission problem before we can begin we will need $1690 up to $4480 to repair it. Ihad my car towed to manuel auto center, he replaced my left tie rods for $275 in the past.he completed a diagnostic, replaced solenoid package for $800. However, my driver side window would not roll down, electrical problems and negligence at his shop. He was willing to pay $275 to repair. My car is unsafe.thank you[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 78,906.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to schumacher chrysler, dodge, jeep, ram of delray (2102 s federal highway, ste a delray beach, fl 33483), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to schedule an appointment with the dealer. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system) in 2007. No further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 59,800.

Our car was running fine and then all of a sudden started to over heat. For a while it was going through coolantthought it was a leak but they didnt find one but then it stopped using coolant from what we can tell and is overheating within a few blocks. Air stopped working and even with heat on it over heats. I saw a lot of complaints about this same issue on these cars starting with the 1996 model and there were recalls on this same issue on 07-08 models i would like to know how to fix it. We tried the thermostat and they checked other things found nothing so i went looking to see if one of the recalls you put out a few years ago was my car maybe.

My car cranks and starts, then dies about 2 seconds later.after several tries, it usually starts.however, i have had it into a chrysler dealer twice without them finding anything wrong.it usually decides to run just fine while in the shop.it will often go for a few months, then start repeating this scenario.this has been on-going for about a year.

Maybe something with the fuel. While car isstopped, it will suddenly jump. If i didn't have my foot on brake the car would take off.the engine speeds up without me stepping on the gas pedal. The car suddenly stalls and shuts off at a stop sign or traffic light. This has happened many times. Over the last year and a half. I don't understand about pictures. There are no pictures

While driving!!! my 08chrysler sebringelectronic throttle light comes on and the car loses power will not pick up speed over 25mpg .. Paying dealers to figure it out but im wasting time andmoneythey don't know what's wrong with it, but what to chargeto see the car again.....haven't had it a year but regret getting into this car......

The car sometimes stalls.on several occasions, mostly during or after it rains, it will just cut off.it cuts off at stop lights and while i'm driving.there are no indications on the dashboard before it cuts off.it always starts back up after each incident.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to abernethy chrysler dodge jeep ram 1(442 e main st, lincolnton, nc 28092, (704) 732-1890), but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 37,682.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary, the engine overheated. The contact stated that the warning light was illuminated. The contact related the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 04v473000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,197.

This car is a deathtrap , and accelerates at high speeds at any given time without warning !!!! could die or wind up killing someone . Looks like it has been known for years and nothing as come of it! just bought the car, had it shipped to my state & i cannot even drive it! and cannot sell it to anyone as its dangerous. Noone can find a fix for it. Chrysler played dumb and over the years claims they never heard about this major problem , yet its online .. Many people have been thru hell. Maybe even a death ... I need help.. Or answers...updated 11/15/17 updated 10/4/18

Driving down a slight hill at 35mph using no throttle, the car stalled.no lights, no alarms.realized it stalled when i had no power steering for corner.no power steering.no power brakes.muscled car to stop safely, but if my 16yo daughter had been driving.... Very scary.car has stalled once while idling at a stop and stuttered like it was going to stall at a red light twice since the initial stalling incident.

This has happened on several different occasions--becoming more frequent and lasting longer duration each time. While traveling various speeds (can and has happened anywhere from 5mph-60mph) if any pressure is applied to accelerator after breaking no matter the speed all power is lost to the car a red lighting bolt light appears on the dash and the rpm's will stay between 4,000-5,000. Each time having to pull off to the side of the road and attempt for it to restart (depends on if it will or not--usually takes it a while). Will get up to speed again and if i have to brake for any reason or even slow down just alittle without apply the brakes it can completely loose power. Also do not have any dash lights when the head lights are turned on. They appear in the center console but went out in 2009 just after i bought the car, and after several estimates in the thousands of dollars it remains with no lights (so in no way can you see the speed or anything else on the dash after dark.)

Vehicle came to a complete stall while taking left- hand turn on intersection @ ~15mph. It now shows the indicator light for the engine randomly and stalls somewhat frequently at low speeds. Lastly, the trans is slipping rigorously.

When i turn the steering wheel the steering wheel shakes really bad until i bring the steering back into regular position. The seat belt sign goes off continually after i'm buckled up, car engine shuts off while car is idling at a red light, car jumps while sitting at a red light.

My car both in both park/drive will sporadically jump in rpm's for no reason.this has happened on 40+ occasions in which the vehicle will rev from 600 rpm's up over 3500 rpm's within a second.i called chrysler and chrysler stated that they have not have any reports from other vehicles and gave me no solutions to this problem. My check engine light is not on.i mentioned to chrysler that i am afraid that my car is going to one day rev while i am driving and i will not be able to control it.i am afraid that i am going to either injure myself, passengers, other motorist and/or pedestrians.i have been at many stop lights and stop signs where it has revved and moved forward even with my foot firmly on the brake.i want to report this in case something happens, i do not want to be liable for the cars actions since chrysler does not seem to want to take my issue seriously.

The contact the owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning while driving. The failure was experienced several times. The contact was able to restart the engine and resume normal function. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 99,000.

At any given moment loss of power will occur and motor will shut off. Anytime on the freeway or parked. Occasionally at random intervals car will crank but not turn over until after repeated attempts to start it will turn over appropriately.

While driving at a steady speed, vehicle will hesitate when climbingan incliine or when i accelerate, this is not a steady happening.i have taken it to two different chrysler dealerships to have it computer checked but nothing shows up. A younger mechanic at the second dealership stated it sounded to him like possibly the clutches were slipping and causing the problem. Since it doesn't show up on the computer he suggested that i just continue driving until such time as it may stop moving completely and then the problem should be able to be found.

Contact information: ginn chrysler jeep dodge ,5190 us-278 ,covington georgia 30014 ,770-786-2271tim [email protected] (business manager)zack thackston (service advisor ).

I took the vehicle after purchase to the shop to look over and seller agreed that he would cover the cost for "sensor" issue as he stated! the car needs a camshaft and due to the age of the vehicle the mechanic stated if that part is replaced it will possibly need a transmission as well as a new engine. Therefore the repairs would exceed the value of the vehicle or not work at all and waste all that money. Car had issues starting from day 1 too.

Engine stalling when stopped at traffic light.

Please help

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While the vehicle was stationary, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. Also, while making a turn, the vehicle stalled and the engine and electronic throttle control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 42,000.

The contact was driving 60 mph in the rain when the windshield wipers failed.in addition, the vehicle would stall sporadically without warning while sitting with the engine idling. 2008 chrysler sebring convertible.3 times, once while in park, twice while at a light, engine revs up all of a sudden.twice this year (2010), once last year.

Tb

Was driving on the interstate headed east from hickory flat msto myrtle ms. Throttle control light began to blink, check engine light came on, all power shut down quick, car would not start, waited 45 minutes before it started . Motorist stop to help me push it to the side of the hwy.

Brand new (2 months old) chrysler sebring convertible caught fire while driving down a residential street.i have now discovered that there is a safety recall that was issued october 2007 for this but i was sold the vehicle in may 2008 and never notified of the safety recall.car was a total loss.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While driving at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact coasted to the side of the road, turned off the engine and restarted it; the problem seemed to correct itself. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The dealer called the manufacturer was instructed to reset the computer; the dealer did reset it. Four months later, the problem occurred again. The contact planned to take the vehicle back to the dealership at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was 36,594.

The car turns off after driving 30 minutes, the headlights turn off and on at random times, the honk starts honking randomly.

While driving the dashboard lights flicker then go outunable to turn back oni an unable to see speed, gas gauge engine tempa very hazardous condition.

While driving - electrical issues. Fuel gage does not work. Dashboard display lights go out intermittently, power window issues, tire pressure (tpms) light comes on,

My instrumental cluster lights went out so i can not see anything at night.my speed control/cruise control is no longer functioning.

All warning lights are on.the head lights are going off. Happens in motion and stationary.

I was cruising on route 27 north towards mount airy and my 2008 chrysler sebring suddenly stalls and i have to pull over.after having the car towed to nearest dealer, i was told the next morning that my car run out of gas even thoughthe fuel gage still shows that i have quarter tank available.dealer told me that the sending unit is broken.

Almost every time i fill the gas tank, the gas spills or sprays out of the tank. No matter how slow i fill it. This is dangerous and i had this same issue with another 2008 chrysler sebring convertible.

When filling the vehicle with gas, the gas sprays back out of the filler tube after the automatic shut-off of the gas station pump.i would estimate one to two cups of gasoline spray out onto the pump handle, the side of the car, my clothes, and the drive.this is a forceful spray.this happens on the initial shut-off of the pump, unrelated to topping off the tank.this started around december of 2011 and happens at all gas stations.there is no noticeable slope to the drives at these gas stations and it does not matter which speed i use on the pump.it will happen if i use the slowest speed or if i set the pump handle to full speed.this is a safety issue!i see others online with the same complaints in chrysler vehicles.what can i do?

I am having issues when filling up my tank with gas. The pump shuts off and when i pull it out a couple of gallons will spray out. The shut off in the car is not working. I have read where others are having this issue too.

In august 2010, i bought a 2008 chrysler sebring with only 25,000 miles. Now with only 32,000 miles - the throttle part has to be replaced because of stalling and also the computer system has to be replaced.i have read the complaints that the throttle can malfunction and speed up the vehicle!and i have read the complaints that the throttle can stall out the vehicle.why hasn't the throttle part (code p2107) been recalled?i was told that the throttle part is only guaranteed for 1 year. This should be a manufacture defect and chrysler isputting defective throttles on this model of sebring and not taking responsibility for this defect. How many others have had this problem? why doesn'tchrysler have a warranty in effect for this problem before more drivers get killed or injured? please respond.

While driving - electrical issues. Fuel gage does not work. Dashboard display lights go out intermittently, power window issues, tire pressure (tpms) light comes on,

I lost power to my speed, my brakes failed.i was able to stop the car with my emergency brake.once stopped i turned off my vehicle.once i restarted the vehicle, the light did not come on however i still did not have the speed.my transmission would not shift from 3rd to overdrive.it would stay at 3000 rpm at 55 mph.my car normally runs @ 2500rpm or less up to 60mph.i do not know what i need to deo to have this issue resolved.this is my second time experiencing this with this vehicle. I also have a 2009 chrysler pt cruiser and owned a 2006 chrysler sebring and never have experienced this.

At any given moment loss of power will occur and motor will shut off. Anytime on the freeway or parked. Occasionally at random intervals car will crank but not turn over until after repeated attempts to start it will turn over appropriately.

When filling the vehicle with fuel. When the tank is full fuel will overflow from the tank. Fuel pump will not shut off allowing for large spills unless manually stopped. Multiple stations of use with all having the same issue, removing nozzles from problem.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that after using her keyless entry and pulling on the drivers side door handle, the entire handle fractured from the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and she was advised that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Was driving on the interstate headed east from hickory flat msto myrtle ms. Throttle control light began to blink, check engine light came on, all power shut down quick, car would not start, waited 45 minutes before it started . Motorist stop to help me push it to the side of the hwy.

Safety spring broke not allowing shifter to move out of park wile transmission was still in neutral.

The car will not shift out of park. The first occurrence was sept. 2013, took it to the dealership and the repair/replacement was $400.called the same dealership today ( december 23, 2014) and they would like me to bring it in, but i don't want to pay another $400 to have it replaced again because the one-yrwarranty is up by 3 months. So disappointed... What a way to spend the christmas holiday.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle would not shift out of park. The contact stated the shift lever was locked ion place. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or local mechanic for inspection or repairs. The failure mileage was 70,000.

I took off from stopping at a red light my 2008 chrysler sebring convertible shifted the first gear and then locked up in 2nd gear i can only cruise at 35 miles per hour at 3000 rpm i pulled over turn the key switch off it started it back up it shifted fine until i got did the third red light then it locked up again they're calling this limp mode i have searched the internet and found that the sebrings have major problems but yet there is no recall something needs to be done my car only has 140,000 original miles on it 11 year old cars are not supposed to do this

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring convertible. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to engage into the drive position and the gear shift was stuck in neutral. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (darcars orange park chrysler dodge jeep ram, 7233 blanding blvd, jacksonville, fl 32244, (904) 777-5500) where it was diagnosed that the shifter cable needed to replaced. The vehiclewas not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 101,000.

Chryslers are known for their terrible transmissions, but this is our second chrysler sebring in this year range (same engine/trans models), both with the same issue.when shifting from or thru neutral, (eg. Reverse to drive), the transmission shifts so hard that it can lift the engine and snap a mount. This causes the car to make knocking noises when shifting (any gear), and causes the car to lurch in and out of gear, neutral, and park.

Won't shift out of park

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While having the vehicle serviced for an oil change at an independent mechanic shop, it was discovered that the transmission oil dip stick tube was corroded. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 91,589.

Vehicle came to a complete stall while taking left- hand turn on intersection @ ~15mph. It now shows the indicator light for the engine randomly and stalls somewhat frequently at low speeds. Lastly, the trans is slipping rigorously.

I drove to work this morning just fine. Upon preparing to leave, the car would not come out of the parked position. The gear was stuck.

The pink switch on the shifter broke and i went to ruben chrysler in augusta,ga and they told me that a lot of people came in for the same reason.

This morning i got to work and put my vehicle to park and when trying to move the shift back to drive the shift does not move. Trying to park parked my vehicle. Shifter cannot move from park position. Doing my own research i found that, dodge/chrysler, already have some recalls on this issue. Recall #k39. I called chrysler group recall assistance center at 1-800-853-1403 and they informed that my vehicle is not covered under #k39 recall. It is a big coincidence they have a recall on 2005 through 2007 model year dodge charger, magnum and chrysler 300 equipped with a floor shifter, but not on this vehicle. I will keep this vehicle park when an investigation is conducted on this issue. If chrysler used the same parts on this vehicle and others vehicles in recall #k39, it will be very likely they need to investigate other vehicles like mine and issue the same recall.please contact me if you have any question.

The throttle body light just can on after crossing a speed bump and stop and killed and hesitated to restart now this throttle body part is on national back order.

Bought battery and somethg is still draining and it keeps hsppening

2008 chrysler sebring..gear shift gets stuck in park and can not be released from park. The dealership said it is an ongoing problem and they have to replace the part on average of 20 cars per month. The dealer said he has replaced the same piece on same vehicle within a 12 month period. It is a little plastic piece that hold the gear shifter in place and when plastic part breaks the gear shift can not be removed from park.if this part would happen to break while car is in drive position and gearing down to 3rd gear for going downhill there would be no way a person would be about to get car out of drive and could cause serious injury or death if person was unaware that the part broke while driving. Chrysler is not taking this serious and told me to go to this website and put in complaint and maybe could get a recall put on that part, but until recall is put on there customers are responsible for $200 worth of repairs to fix a problem that might happen again in just a couple months. This part could easily be replaced with a metal piece instead of plastic.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 chrysler seabring.the contact stated that while traveling 55 mphthe power steering went out. An accident occurred and the contact was injured. The vehicle was towed.the manufacture was notified.repairs were completed on the vehicle.the failure recurred 3 times.the failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 87,000.

Car is stuck in park.gear shifter will not move.was working fine yesterday when i parked it.got up to go to work this morning and shifter would not move out of park.car only has 33,000 miles on it and is taken very good care of.

Started the car pushed in on the brake as usual to release the safety on the gear shifter so it'd go in reverse and it wouldn't go in gear. I mashed the brake harder & still nothing. I tried turning the steering wheel thinking maybe it was the safety thing locking up in that but it was real loose! by now my kids were late for there apptments so i gave up and went inside and started calling around. The nearest dealership said it was a line running from my shifter to my brake up to the steering i needed to tow it in cost my $50-300. My husband took my console apart that evening and found that the shifter is locked in place by a small pink plastic device with a wire running through it which is attached to your braking system somehow on one end yet on the other end its attached to some kind of spring which is attached to yet get this, another piece of plastic! well my spring broke and the pink plastic thing cracked!!! i find this to be a safety hazard. I strongly feel that chrysler should be having to deal with and fix these issues.

Just had got off work and car has been park for over 6 hours.when i got inside of the car i went to crank it up and everything was fine.after i tried to switch to reverse to back up the gear would not allow me to pull it back out of park.tried turning it off and on but that didn't work.

2008 chrysler sebring stuck in park.

My 2008 chrysler sebring's gear shifter got stuck in the park position over night. It won't move to allow me to drive the vehicle. I have read that many others are experiencing this problem as well.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. When the vehicle was parked, the gearshift became stuck in the park position and wouldnot move.she tried all of the helpful hints that the manufacturer had given her but none of them worked. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The approximate failure and current mileages were 57,000.

Automatic transmission shifter connection is plastic and cracked.once this piece cracks, the gear shift will not engage.i parked my car, and the next time i tried to leave, the gear shift would not engage.the part has to be replaced.after doing a little research on the internet, it appears to be a very common issue with this particular part.

2008 chrysler sebring.on august 6th, the car gear shifter knob was seized in the park position.upon reading the internet, it became very apparent that this is an obvious defect on chrysler's part.the shift knob is attached to a small plastic pink "flipper" type part, that easily becomes detached from the spring.the only fix by professionals is a $400.00 repair.the sad reality is that the actual fix is a $5.00 part...

2008 chrysler sebring is stuck in park. Gear shift will not move at all. Was working fine yesterday. Came out this morning started my car and could not get out of park. Car is taken well car of. Waiting for a tow to get repaired.

2008 chrysler sebringpink plastic lever broke inside shifter causing car to stay in park, unable to shift gears.

My 2008 sebring shifter is stuck in park; the car cannot be moved. A dealership service mechanic said it is a common problem on several chrysler and dodge models due to a broken plastic piece on the 'brake shift interlock'. The entire shifter unit must be replaced because there is no replacement part.it will cost $150-$200 since my sebring is 3 months out of warranty (30,000 miles). On the shifter assembly there is a bright pink plastic piece that has a small 2/8" hook.this 2/8" small plastic hook is about as round as a small paper clip.one end of a small 3/4" spring attaches to this plastic hook and the other end of the spring attaches to a hook on the shifter housing.this spring allows the bright pink piece to move when the brake is depressed, which disengages the interlock allowing the shifter to move out of park.a broken 2/8" piece of cheap plastic that can disable an entire car is without a doubt a poor design and a manufacturing flaw!if you do a web search ("chrysler stuck in park" or "dodge stuck in park") you will find thousands of hits.better yet, look at the complaints on this website you will see it is a chronic problem that is reported in 2007-2008 dodge (avenger) and chrysler (sebring & 300) products. It is needlessly costing the owners hundreds of dollars to do an out-of-warranty repair on an under-designed part.a chronic design flaw that spans multiple years on multiple product lines demands a recall.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring.upon starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the vehicle would not shift out of park.the vehicle was not taken to be examined for the cause of the failure and was not repaired.the vehicle remained stuck in the park.the failure and current mileage was 50,000.

Electrical problems include power seat inoperable; cig lighter/electric port inoperable; random alarm sounding; power top shows top with trunk inoperable.

When i turn the steering wheel the steering wheel shakes really bad until i bring the steering back into regular position. The seat belt sign goes off continually after i'm buckled up, car engine shuts off while car is idling at a red light, car jumps while sitting at a red light.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. While the seat belts were being latched, the seat belt warning indicator illuminated and a chime activated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Seatbelt light on dash keeps chiming as if i don't have my seat belt on.this chimes and light comes on randomly while in motion. Or parked.

Seatbelt warning noise is constant, even though it's buckled.

Driver side seat belt mechanism has a sensor inside that is loose and my concern is will this have an impact on the airbags, it also beeps the entire time it is hooked. The beeping or sensor remains to beep while stationary, in motion, on a city street and highway, turning, braking etc.

Driversseat moves when coming to stop, air bag light comes on and off and will stay on at times seat belt dont retract

Multiple stallingsince approx2 to 3 yrs ago , have taken to dealership and have found no problem.brake lights turns on when at a stop or a red light, have taken it in , dealership has found no problem. Car has stopped at red lights and stop signs even once when turned at a corner.not safe driving a car with such a dangerous problem. Car needs to be recalled .

I purchased a 2008 chrysler sebring on may 28, 2010. On that day after test drive i spoke with salesman and finance manager about the brakes and was insured that any problems to bring back within 2 weeks.i also was told that the squeaking would subside within 2 week time.i have returned car to dealershiptwice now and each time was told no problems and they did not hear any noise.i've had to pump my brakes to stop and there is a grind noise when applying pressure to brakes. I have since replaced the pads and was told the rotors were bad also. Is it going to take someone having an accident or possible death in order for actions to be taken?or will it take going public with the media?i would hope that actions would take place to correct the problems.please don't ignore these complaints.

I purchased my 2008 sebring in november 2008. Several months later the brakes began making squeaking noises. I have had the dealer (from which i purchased) to put 3 pair of brakes on since then. I don't travel or drive long distances, buteverytime i stop the brakesmake squeaking noise s and skips. Also i have lots of dust to accumulate on the front driver rim. I was told to slowly pull my brake handle while driving to decrease the brake dust.

My brake lights go on for no reason while driving the normal speed limit.it will go off after i turn off the vehicle but then again appear at different timesthe dealer has said nothing is wrong with the fluids nor brakes and cannot figure out why the brake light keeps appearing.

As of today, 8/17/13 car has 40,050 miles on it and i wonder what's next.

I was driving and my vehicle started over heating and then wouldn't run. I have put w gone coolant in it several time. The radiator hose top part is completely busted.

Faulty or no hem flange sealer in the paint shop was used to prevent water seeping under paint on two places of the front hood and once place on the left rear fender.this has caused the paint to bubble in all three locations, allowed water to gather in all three places and is causing rust damage to my vehicle, not to mention the ugly appearance of bubbled paint and potential for continued rust damage!this is an expensive repair that should never have happened and i'm sure other vehicles made at the same time experience similar issues.

Took vehicle in to have the ball joint taken care of.mechanic informed me that the dealer sold me a car with a very rotted subframe and that the car is in an unsafe condition to drive.i was taken to see the subframe.there are several cracks as well as large holes.they would not do the ball joints because it would have caused the subframe to break completely.if the frame would break while driving on the highway, it could be deadly.chrysler has been aware of this issue, but, extended warranties on only three of their vehicle models with this issue.sebrings were not on the list.my son is willing to go under the car for pictures if needed.

I ran my vin to search for any recalls on the vehicle i purchased last year and the description for my vin comes up as a 2008 chrysler 200, but my car is a 2008 chrysler sebring. If a vin is a unique identification number for each car what does tl it mean that the description doesn't match my car?

I was driving down the road and i got a warning on my dashboard that said the convertible top was in operation. I was on the freeway driving 60 mph (approximately). All of the sudden the top started to open (it is a hard-top convertible) - it froze in midair because the trunk compartment was not prepared for the top to go into it and the trunk lid would not open because the car was inmotion. When the top froze in the "up in the air" position, it did something to the motors. I had to have it towed to the dealership - they were able to get the top back down (manually) and then they set it so it was permanently closed until repairs could be made. Unfortunately, i do not have the money to get it repaired - about 600 dollars and i would not anyway, because it malfunctioned - it was not user error. The equipment completely failed. Is this on any type of a recall that would allow my car to be fixed and covered by the manufacturer?

Won't shift out of park

I brought my car in 2009. My lights have blinked from the start. On august 11, 2015, i drove 1 hour and 17 minutes 59.5 miles in moderate traffic. I arrived at agency. I exited the car. About 5 minutes later, i returned to my 2008 chrysler sebring and entered my car. I started the car as normal applying the brakes while shifting gears and put my car in reverse with acceleration. As my car was in motion the car dangerously shut off in the middle of the busy road and i had to apply the brakes quickly while rolling and in motion. My dad and i put a diagnostic on the car and it read a code. We checked the potential problems. The only problem was the transmission fluid. We refilled the transmission fluid. On march 4, 2016, i drove 51 minutes 33.4 miles in moderate to heavy traffic. I arrived to a military location. I exited the car. About 3 minutes later, i returned to my 2008 chrysler sebring and entered my car. I started the car as normal applying the brakes while shifting gears and put my car in reverse with acceleration. As my car was in motion the car dangerously shut off in the middle of the busy road and i had to apply the brakes quickly while rolling and in motion. As my car was in motion the car dangerously shut off. My dad and i checked the transmission fluid and the transmission fluid seemed okay this time. The 2008 chrysler sebring dangerously shuts off while rolling and in motion. No light stays on during the duration of the trips to warn me of anything that may be malfunctioning. The 2008 chrysler sebring shuts off with no warning while in motion. After it shuts off while in motion the malfunction indicator light comes on and it goes off. I called the dealership that i had been taking my car in for service since i brought it. The chrysler dealership has expressed uncertainty about finding the problem. I spoke with corporate with my vin and they did not help.

When raising or lowering the top it would malfunction (some where between completely up or down) and remain in that state sometimes for hours, local towing services refuse to transport the vehicle to a nearby dealership out of fear they would do more damage to it.since purchasing the vehicle (2007) we've had it serviced (sep' 2007, jul' 2010, and sep' 2011) at different dealerships for the same problem; each time they assured us that the problem had been corrected. Most recently (may 29th) we again had the vehicle in for service, for the same problem.as before, the rear window panel (right side) has dropped several inches, the top is inoperative, and a strap that attaches to the underside of the top has broken and hangs down into the cradle.as royal protection plan has expired, the dealership has projected my out-of-pocket repair costs, this time, to exceed $1,015.we have not been able to determine if a recall has been issued for this recurring problem.

Air bag lights and door locking mechanizism failing

I bought the car 1/02/2016 2 weeks later i am in motioni put my foot on the brake at a red light it takes off on its own, cuts off when i make a stop

Gear shift problems it's stuck in park

I took the vehicle after purchase to the shop to look over and seller agreed that he would cover the cost for "sensor" issue as he stated! the car needs a camshaft and due to the age of the vehicle the mechanic stated if that part is replaced it will possibly need a transmission as well as a new engine. Therefore the repairs would exceed the value of the vehicle or not work at all and waste all that money. Car had issues starting from day 1 too.

The vehicle stalls and jerks back for up to 2 seconds. However, these two seconds can be very dangerous on a roadway as driving at high speeds it may cause an accident.

The front, especially drivers, door window lift mechanism breaks, causing the window to retreat down, leaving the window in an open position.this has been fixed 5 times and keeps breaking.a definite design flaw.

My win module is no good or my cars computer.when i drive my car shuts off.

At any given moment loss of power will occur and motor will shut off. Anytime on the freeway or parked. Occasionally at random intervals car will crank but not turn over until after repeated attempts to start it will turn over appropriately.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring.the contact stated while at stopped, the vehicle accelerated independently causing the vehicle to crash into a ditch while attempting to avoid another vehicle.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 92,000.

My accelerator has been sticking and begin not long after i bought the car used in 2010. I thought at first it was the car mat getting in the way but that was not the case this last time on sunday october 2,2011.i was pulling into parking space and had my foot off the accelerator when the car accelerated on its own and i hit the cement curb which was taller than most. There was substantial damage to the lower passenger side of the car. I was able to slam on the brakes getting it to stop before further damage. My daughter was in the car with me but no one was injured. If the curb would not have been tall the car would have more and likely jumped it and ran into building, but because of height of it this did not happen. I then got out and inspected the damage which was less than i thought it would be and no air bags disbursed.

I was driving my car along the freeway and all of a sudden the car began to accelerate.i was unable to stop.i ended up in a ditch and crashing into some trees and i lost three of my fingers.i was driving a 2008 chrysler sebring.i need any information concerning any recalls or defects regarding this vehicle.thank you.

I have an 08 chrysler sebring.my electronic throttle control light comes on randomly, and within 5 seconds, my car stalls.i've taken it to two dealerships, they can't figure out what is causing this defect.this is not safe!once when it stalled, i couldn't pull over because there was no shoulder.i pulled over in the little triangle area between merging traffic.on a trip from il to va, i had to restart my car 7 times.one dealership replaced the map sensor, this didn't help at all.the other dealership told me there was nothing they could do, since there were no stored codes and they couldn't duplicate the problem.

While at a stop light, the car engine and rpm increased.luckly i had my foot on brake.had the car looked at no problem found. Including a major tune up.it has happened several more times, including when my daughter was driving my car.this time i had another person in the car when it happened last month.it occured again while at a red light the car was in drive and my foot was on the brake.it rpms went up and it cause the car to jump forward bearly missing the car infront of me.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system); although, the vehicle exhibited the same failure. 552(b)(6).

My wife was driving our 2008 chrysler sebring at roughly around 45mph when the (etc) electronic throttle control light came. She lost control of the vehicle momentarily, had to use the emergency brake to slow the car down. She shut the care off, went to start it back up again and it wouldn't do anything, keep in mind she had our 2 children in the vehicle also. After a couple of tries to start the vehicle, it finally started again, no more light! she had told me what the car was doing, so i drove it for a day, and nothing happened at all. Later that night she went to the store, and it did it again!! this time it stayed on and started blinking. I drove the car, and it wont go over 20mph, and idles really rough, also idles high, between 1500-2100rpm. I am writing this because after doing some research on this it seems as though there is more than a couple thousand vehicles that have done the same thing. (the 07' to 08' chrysler sebring) it put my family in danger, this is why i am posting this complaint. Please look into this.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring.a month after purchasing the vehicle, the contact noticed that the vehicle would vibrate when shifting gears at 20-40 mph.when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle would accelerate on its own.the vehicle was driven to the dealer on several occasions, but the mechanic could not duplicate the failure.the mechanic performed diagnostic testing as well and was informed that there was no defect.recently, while idling at a stop sign, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and almost caused a rear end crash.the dealer was notified and they stated that they were not liable for the repairs because they could not duplicate the failure.the manufacturer was notified and they informed her that they would replace the vehicle, but only if she paid twenty-five cents per mile.the current mileage was 14,500 and failure mileage was 2,800. On the date mentioned, i was driving an enterprise rental car, 2008 chrysler sebring lx, from idaho falls, id to salt lake city, ut. I was traveling appx. 73-75mph with the cruise control set for the last 50 miles. I was approaching asemi truck/trailer and tapped the brakes to disengage the cruise control. At that time the car started to accelerate, i tapped the brakes two more times to try to disengage the cc and the car just continued to accelerate. At this time i decided i need to take a more aggressive approach and started slamming on the brakes which caused me to lose control of the car and strike the rear end of the trailer. That caused me to spin out of control and enter into the center median of the i-15. I was able to get the car stopped after the wreck. For whatever reason, i couldn't get the cc to disengage and in fact the cc caused the vehicle to suddenly accelerate. I had no control of the speed of the car. The brakes were really not too effective in slowing the car while it was accelerating.

The contact owns a 2008 chrysler sebring. The contact was driving 60 mph in the rain when the windshield wipers failed.in addition, the vehicle would stall sporadically without warning while sitting with the engine idling. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was awaiting diagnosis and possible repairs. The failure and current mileage was 30,373.

Purchased vehicle used in august 2015, owner told us the wipers did not work but he had the motor and we installed the wiper motor. This did not work. So we researched this vechicle for recalls and we found that chrysler has had a problem with this tipm part but was not being responsible for a recall. This part cost us $650.00and the wipers now do work but there is a noise that is still there and some of the caution lights do not go out. The car works but do not go that far in it due to the reviews we had read about this tipm part and the engine may stop working.

The windows will roll down after sitting about 4 hours the keys were in my locker at work, i didn't use the windows going to work when i left the car and went into work they were up when i came out to go to lunch they were down would be good if it was raining.

Valve stem came off wheel. These are the ones that have a sensor. I was lucky to have it happen while i was not driving. Tire immediately deflated. It happened at the car wash while being dried with a towel.
