2007 chrysler sebring defect seat belt did not hold me nor did my air bag deploy. I am still seriously injured because a high speeding drunk truck driver hit my car. I been receiving treatments for my injuries and still is. I cannot work because of this. It is time for the maker which is chrysler to take responsibility andcompensation for me because i am still receiving treatment today and had surgery since the bad car wreck i was in 2012.

My airbag light comes on intermittently. Sometimes it blinks off and on a few minutes at a time as i drive for as long as i'm driving. Other times, it will stay on for 30 minutes or so continuously, then stay off. Or, i can go days without it coming on. I'm afraid it's going to either deploy for no reason while i'm driving and cause an accident, or not deploy if do have an accident.my brake lights come on almost every time i stop at a light. I have had the brakes checked by a mechanic, and they couldn't find anything wrong with them.my driver's side window has occasionally begun "sticking". Usually it is when i have rolled it down, it does not want to roll back up.my car is out of warranty, so i have not paid to have it hooked up to the computer at the dealership to see if there are any error codes.these have all started happening in the last three months, and are steadily getting worse.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that her gear shift selector would not release from park.the contact would have to use a screwdriver and after several attempts, the selector would release. The airbag warning light was also defective and would illuminate sporadically.in addition, the front passenger side window would not open.the vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 68,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated the front driver side air bag off indicator light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken an authorized dealer where the front driver seat air bag sensor was replaced. One month later, the front passenger seat air bag sensor failed to functionproperly which required replacement. Nhtsa recall campaign 07v240000 (air bags: frontal) was associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified and stated the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The airbag light comes on while driving.

Takata recall: my air bag light stays on at all times when car is started. It has been doing this for several months (will not go off). When i reported it they said there were no recalls and i had to get it repaired myself. There has not been an accident but dont know why it is on.my vehicle was not on the recall list. Hope nothing happens.

While driving the car will stall either at a stop or while moving. The airbag light on dash continues to come on. The flashers randomly start flashing while driving. The radio will change stations on it own. The brakes have been replaced or repaired 3 time in the first 25,000 miles. The suspension makes a grinding noise upon turning. I have had the car in at the dealership service dept at least a dozen times. Radio has been replaced but continues to change on its own. Airbag switch has been replaced, but continues to appear on dash. Service states that computer cannot read errors, and puts car on road test.

When my husband drives my car, he moves the seat back.when i drive my car, i move the seat forward. This action causes the airbag light on the dash to come on. When i move the electronically controlled seat forward/backward, the airbag light will "sometimes" go off. The nhtsa ref 07v240000 references a recall for the front seat track position sensor. I contacted chrysler to see if my car is one that has been recalled.i'm told that it is not.i think it should be.

The airbag light has been in for a long time. I know someone that has the same car and their car has the same issue. Also the true gage reader is malfunctioning. Now i have problems with the car stalling on the roadway. I called chrysler about the recalls and the said everything has been taken care of. They couldn't tell me who brought the car in fir repairs. I've had the car for 8 years. I dont think the issues have been resolved. They should at least be able to see who brought the car in fir the repairs. The headlights will sometimes go off when going around turns. I met the previous owner and he told me that these issues are why he got rid of the car. Please help me get the recalls fixed so something bad doesn't happen to us in this car.

Car has tmps and airbag lights constantly coming on for no reason - they stay on for days or weeks and then shut off. Both chrylser and independent mechanic have never been able to diagnose. Also, engine will lose all power while in operation at both freeway speeds and low residential speeds along with auto-start randomly not working.chrysler and independent mechanic were not able to diagnose. Tried replacing alternator and still happened. Replaced crank shaft sensor after looking at online forums of similar stores from other chrysler sebring owners and still occasionally happens. Airbag light is now back on for no reason... Again.i know gm has been having numerous recalls yet mine has never been included in recalls for both my model and other makes/models having these issues. It is incredibly scary driving speeds of 75mph to lose all power. I have to pull brake, put the car in park and shut off/restart. I am constantly fearful of it happening and getting into a crash that could be fatal.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring and the airbag lightwould come on and off,but now its on and wont go off.

2007 chrysler sebring. Consumer writes in regard to airbag light switching on and off, brake light under trunkmelted holding bulb and connection, and housing melted. *as

Passenger airbag light stays on and dashboard cluster does not light up, both are dangerous and should not be ignored.

On the way to the hospital because the passenger was having a asthma attack and the driver and passenger had to get there son something to eat and the passenger started choking more because of the food was cooked in peanut oil and it was another car on the side of us and made us go off the road and sent the passenger all the way into a asthma exacerbation and a bronchitis exacerbation and the car crashed and the air bags did not deploy the driver, the passenger and there son was taking to skyline hospital and the driver and there son was released from the hospital while the passenger had to stay for a week at skyline hospital from the asthma and bronchitis exacerbation and a bruise left side.

The air bag light stays on all the time, the crystler dealership says it would take a lot to fix it and it needs a recall. I have seen several people complaining about this issue on the sebring. Mine is the touring edition. Could you please consider a recall or fix for this

Air bag light comes on and goes off when ever it wants. Some times it stays on a long time . Usually happens when i hit breaks or a bump in the road. Seat feels loose some times. And wish i could have fixed by chrysler.i hope some day they step up and fix this issue before someone gets hurt not knowing if air bag will work sucks.

Air bag light comes on. This should be recalled because of numerous complaints.

First two complaints have been recalled and serviced. Said recalls were for # 1 engine stalling and # 2 driver airbag under seat sensor illuminating on and off on dash.even after the service was performed for the recalls, i still have engine stalling during stops and on deceleration the vehiclethreatens to stall. I need to keep giving gas and on humid days that is indicative of possible rain the threat is more often. The second recall complaint that i am still experiencing is the air bag illuminator on dash for the drivers side goes on and off and the wires under the drivers seat are involved when driver seat moves front or back. Stalling is a safety issue that can cause personal injury or death to occupants in this car or nearby cars sharing the road. Also the air bag sensor problem keeps me in fear that the airbag will not deploy when necessary or will deploy accidentally on its own while the vehicle is in motion. I also have a complaint that the car when braking for a stop continued to rev causing me to use the emergency break and i had to shut off the car to stop the car totally.i have noticed that this issue is common with other peoples complaint and an inquiry would seem imminent for safety reasons. The dealership knowing the recalls have not secured the proper handling of my vehicle's safety wants to charge a diagnostic fee or a service fee when it is clear that the proper service was not rendered causing recall malfunctions to this date. For the two complaints that have recalls that i am inquiring about need to be addressed to the dealership asap for service and i would appreciate the outcome of this complaint in writing. As for the accelerator problem i would like to be kept abreast if a safety issue is mandated for the repair of that complaint. Thank you.

I am very concerned about my airbag light coming on 1-2 times a month. Does that mean the air bags may suddenly deploy while i am sitting at a light, or not deploy when involved in a crash?my second concern is that my dashboardlights started dimming and eventually went out on their own. I cannot drive atnight any more.i took it to a mechanic and thinking it was a simple fuse problem. No, it has to do with the mechanic removing the dashboard and going into the instrument cluster box and replacing simething in there. I have been quoted $350.00-to 375.00 dollars.cannot afford that.my new problem: driving home, getting ready to back up my drive way, the car is running hot, when i went to shift from drive to reverse, the car cut off.had a hard time takingthe carout of reverse to park. Like it was stuck or jammed.my neighbors came out to help push it out of the middle of the street and the front wheels were locked. The men eventually got it pushed to the side of the street. The car starts an run s with no problem my mechanis tells me it is the gear shifter cable us broken. I thought tose were made to last in a car. My car is now locked in park until i canget that fixed. As a senior on a fixed income i cannot afford to drive this old car i have sadly paid for.

Airbag light on, horn and cruise control stopped working, found out its the clock spring, had trouble steering the car at one point, found that a part broke the clock spring and got lodged in the steering components, happened during a turn onto a street

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000. The vin was unavailable.

My airbag light comes on frequently and remains on most of the time.i took it to goldstein chrysler jeep dodge in latham ny. I was charged $120 for diagnostics and i was told it was an airbag sensor that would cost upward of an additional $450 to repair.i found there was a recall issued by the national highway traffic safety association for this problem with the 2007 chrysler sebring back in june of 2007.the recall campaign # is nhtsa-07v240000.i called diamler chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 to get the problem resolved and to recover the $120 i paid to the goldstein dealership for an issue that was covered in a recall.diamler chrysler said they had no recall for an airbag sensor on the 2007 sebring.i called back the nhtsa at 1-888-327-4236 and confirmed the recall was in fact issued.i filed a case with the nhtsa, and they referred me to the federal trade commission at 1-877-382-4357 where i also filed a report. The ftc also referred me to the nys consumer protection board.complaints to them must be filed in writing.i requested a complaint form.i called diamler chrysler back and filed a case.i contacted the dealer customer service management back, where i sensed there wasn't the least bit of sympathy or concern for my family's safety.

I bought my 2007 chrysler sebring brand new april 2007.after about a year (or less) and well under 20,000 miles the gas cap light would not go off, windshield wipers went off sporadically even in the "off" position, got stuck in park, fuel tank had to be replaced (which went out while i was driving), air bag light won't go off, etc.had all these problems fixed only to have many of them recur.they were all fixed under warranty.now after 36,000 miles and no warranty, the problems i have now are the windshield wipers still won't go off, my electric windows sometimes won't work at all (driver's side specifically), air bag light won't go off but occasionally when driver's seat is moved backward and forward but always returns, car will stall at times when pressing the gas pedal while driving.after the windshield wipers began going off again, took it to chrysler dealership in my town...they contacted chrysler to see if they would replace it again and they refused.all the recalls i read about that appear to pertain to my vehicle, chrysler says my vin is not a part of the recall (even though it's happening to my car too)!i will never buy another chrysler vehicle for myself, or anyone in my family again!problems with this car started early and never went away.

Air bag light came on and stays on. Upon calling company it will take several thousand dollars to repair as it is a common problem in the steering column. Sure enough, common enough that there is indeed a recall on this - but only in certain states!!!i am in arkansas, the states are directly to the south of me, tx, al, ms etc... How crazy is that? it is a defect, but only in a couple states?? even though my vin number is right in there??? i got this information by calling the recall hot line... Yes, if my car was in the recall states, it would be paid for...very shaddy

I drive a 2007 chry. Sebring touring edition, the air bag light keeps coming on, cruise control does not work, and everytime it rains, the entire passengers side inside the veh gets really wet.

The air bag indicator light will turn on and ding. This happens at random speeds for no reason as well as when movingthe seat. See recall ,mfg's report date june 5, 2007 for thecomponets: air bag : frontal on chrysler sebring 2007 nhtsa campaign number : 07v-240 safety recall g14. However when i call chrysler i was informed my vin does not match the vehicles that were in the recall, therefore it is my responsibility to correct this repair. When i asked kelly with whom may i speak to i was informed no one. She will enter the information in her system.

Air bag light will not go off, windows are sticking switches not letting up or down always, engine is skipping and very slow to take off, burning an extreme amount of gas, front end not in align and is causing damage to tires, check engine light periodically comes on and won't go off.

I was s/b on i-75 in kentucky at approximately the 56 mp when i fell asleep. The front end struck the end of a guard rail and then the car swung around, slid sideways, and rolled over stopping on it's left side. No air bags deployed. The vehicle had both front and side air bags. The kentucky state police, post 11, took the report and the mount vernon, ky fire department got us out. No was injured thanks to seat belts but the air bags should have deployed. The fire department was concerned that the side air bags would deploy when they used the 'jaws' to cut the side posts but this did not happen either.

Attempted to start vehicle in the morning, turned the key to crank motor and the engine would not start but continued to crank. Eventually it stopped cranking, i attempted to start vehicle again then it started. Began driving my car down the highway and the air bags light started going off and stayed on for the rest of my drive. Also while driving around corners the brake light will go off as well as going down some hills.

Air bag sensor will not turn off. It stays on while i am driving and while the car is at rest. It has been doing this for almost two weeks. I know that it is not the weight because i do not have anyone or anything sitting in the passenger seat. And even if someone is sitting in the passenger seat it still stays on.

This is a recall item for models right around the same time as my sebring was built,i have called chry but they will not take responsibility. The air bag light stays on!!my air bag clock spring failed and my air bag warning light illuminated. I'm told by the dealer that my air bag will now not work, and my cruise control & steering wheel horn . This is a serious safety issue & i need to get it repaired quickly but at a cost of over $220, i can not afford . This should be paid for by daimler chrysler!.

Our 2007 chrysler sebring's airbag light has come on.it was on just a few minutes and went out.it stayed out for about a month and now has come on and stayed on.we have 41,000 miles on it and we have not had it for 3 yrs yet but have been told it could cost us no less than $89 to fix.the book says contact a garage right away for repair. We don't know whether this airbag will come out while driving or not.should this be a recall or should we have to pay for fixing this problem.

The contact owned a 2007 chrysler sebring. When the contact approached a traffic light, another vehicle crashed into the front driver side of the contact's vehicle and caused it to spin twice. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,608.

Air bag indicator light constantly beeps and stays on for periods of time. When i'm on the on-ramp entering a highway and driving in a curve the brake indicator light comes on. Sometimes it comes on while driving on a flat surface. Since i've had this car, the right front tire pressure has never read. It just reads -- where the number should be. I have had to replace my crank position sensor twice. I lost acceleration while driving.the second time i had to replace the electrical throttle something (etc) as well. Now it is out a 3rd time. Luckily i was in my driveway this time! please recall!

When my husband drives my car, he moves the seat to the very back position.when i drive my car, i move the seat forward.this action causes the airbag light on the dash to come on.when i move the electronically controlled seat forward/backward, the airbag light will go off.the nhtsa ref 07v240000 references a recall for the front seat track position sensor.i contacted chrysler to have the repair initiated; however, they said my car (although same year, make and model) is not part of the recall.

Our car air bag light / sensor goes on for no apparent reason.our brake light / sensor goes on for no apparent reasonboth items happen when car is in operation

My airbag light keeps coming on depending on the position of the passenger seat. It came on the beginning of the month and i took it to the used car place i bought it from and they don't know what they are doing there so i took it home and was playing with the seat and if the seat is pushed back the light goes on but if it is forward the light comes on. Sometimes it takes a minute or you will start driving and it pops on. What should i do?

Air bag light has come on intermittently for the last 3 years. Taken to several independent mechanics with no reason identified or resolution. Well today the light kept illuminating and dinging while running errands. Unusual amount of times so much so it caused some concern. I was in motion approaching a stop sign, almost home and the drivers side side air bag deployed & burst for no reason. Thank god i was uninjured but that was dangerous and scary! now i have a damaged drivers side seat.

I was sitting in the driver's seat with seat belt buckle up around myself with nothing else in the car besides myself and the airbag light came on the dash panel. It's stays on everytime i start the car and been that way for maybe little over a year.

In december of 2011 i took my car into moss bros. Chrysler of san bernardino due to the air bag light for the drivers seat going on and off. They checked the problem out and determined that when the drivers seat is all the way back that the seat adjuster spring is broke and damaged wiring to the seat track sensor.recommended to replace seat adjuster and wiring. These are the words used by the mechanic as to what the problem is. Chrysler was contacted with a request to repair the problem at their cost, and that was denied. I have made contact with chrysler concerning this matter and was told the same thing, that i would have to pay to have this problem repaired. Over the last two years the problem has come and gone. Now the problem has come back up again. I am in fear of the air bag going off on its own or not operating properly if involved in an accident. I am tired of pursuing this matter with chrysler and finally just gave up.after talking to a mechanic friend of mine he told me to contact your agency to see if you can get me some sort of solution to this problem. Right now i am having the air bag light problem daily and am very concerned about my safety and others that may beinmy car with me. I do hope that you are able to help me get this problem taken care of. I can not afford to pay the $1000.00 plus dollars that i was quoted for the repair. I am a disabled senior citizen living on just my social security disability and do hope that you will be able to resolve this problem for me. Thank you for your time concerning this matter and i do look forward to hearing from you.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Defective airbag system on chrysler sebring after 50,000 miles. Although the car has never had any accident that may involve the use of airbags. The airbag signal will go off on the 2007 chrysler sebring dashboard, over and over and over again....then it will stop for about two to four twenty hours. And it will go off again ....

Airbag light on continuous.

When seat is moved the airbag light comes on and stays on.dealer refuses to fix saying that placing purse on seat broke the sensor.car will not shift in gear.2nd occurrence.first time fixed under recall.now dealer refuses to fix same issue. Contacted chrysler customer service and received no assistance.

I purchased my vehicle from a local dealer and shortly after the air bag light came on intermittently. I brought it to the dealers numerous times for repair. To this day the air light still comes on. The last time i spoke to the dealer about it they said they repaired it and it was to long ago to be under warranty. I explained that the problem was never resolved because every time they attempted to fix the problem the light would always come back on. Sometimes it would be off for days to months but it always comes back on. They refused to look at it again without charging me a diagnostic charge.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring. While i was driving to work, the car idled down and was about to cut off, as when i stopped on a red light the car completely shut off. I had to turn the ignition key to "off" and turned it back on. Also, the airbag light keeps coming on and off. What is wrong!? any recalls on these yet?

Airbag light comes on and off. Not sure if airbag will still deploy. Was told to bring it in if light stays on, but it doesn't it just goes on and off occasionally.

I own a 2007 sebring. I have had the vehicle in a few times for a parking brake light that would come on and for the airbag light that would come on. The dealer was unable to find the source of the problem. While driving on the interstate, i hit a deer. Although the impact occurred while going 60 mph, the airbags did not deploy. Flames were coming out from under the hood and onto my windshield before i even got to the shoulder. I was forced to jump from the vehicle while it was still in motion, to escape the burning car.

Rt.1 caribou, maine driving approximately 55-60 mph in a 2007 chrysler sebring. Two (2) passengers.driving north i struck a black bear in a front end collision as it was crossing the road from my left into my lane. Approximately four-thousand (4,000) dollars in damage was done to the vehicle most of it to the front drivers side of the vehicle, including headlight assembly, hood, grill, drivers side fender and other damage. Bodily injury is to driver only including neck injury and back and shoulder pain. The reason for this complain is due to neither the drivers side airbag nor the passengers side airbag deployed.

Vehicle hit a deer head on and burst into flames.air bags did not deploy.auto has been in to dealership numerous times for engine light, which would not stay off.on my home from arizona to minnesota, the emergency brake light kept coming on when going down off ramps.

I was involved in a right side impact car accident which at the time i had a passenger in the front seat of the car. My 2007 sebring touring is equipped with supplemental seat thoracic side airbag as well as curtain airbags. The collision caved in both passenger doors. The passengers seat air bag did not deploy which resulted in injury to her.

The vehicle stalls or runs rough whenever it is raining or high humidity. Also the remote starting system acts up by not starting correctly or shutting off at different intervals after it starts. Shutting off the engine sometimes after a minute and could stall after several minutes. It is never seems to have a pattern when these symptoms occur with starting with the remote or stalling when driving. The plugs have been replaced as well as the coils being checked on the plugs. The vehicle uses no spark plug wires so these would not apply or be an issue with these problems. This vehicle has done this since it was purchased new and only has 30,000 miles currently on it. It is a 2007 chrysler sebring with a 4 cylinder 2.4 l engine. I has been back to three different dealerships and all of them say it was not included in the recall h07. I do not understand this because according to the letters i copied off your website "all vehicles" had 100% defect that were manufactured from 3/7/06 - 1/24/08. I was never issued a recall letter from chrysler but the car has the same symptoms described in this recall. It now stalls very frequently whenever it is raining or damp outside. Is there any way we can get chrysler to look into repairing this issue?

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.whenever the contact starts the vehicle, the main headlights automatically illuminate.in addition, the windshield wipers have stopped working and the instrument panel lights are very dim.the failures occur simultaneously and intermittently.the vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, but the failures still persist.the current mileage was 18,500 and failure mileage was 14,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 84,600.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated several times. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times where unknown repairs were performed. The failure recurred. The contact also stated that the key would not turn over to start the engine, which was a recurring failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer several times where unknown repairs were made but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.

My instrument panel has no background lights, they do t turn on at all. I took it into a local shop and they said all the fuse are good and they think it might be a modgular (battery) that needs to be replaced. I have seen a lot of other owners having this same issue with their sebring as well.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While attempting to accelerate from a traffic light, the vehicle hesitated to move. Also, all the instrument panel lighting went out. After a few seconds, the vehicle drove normally to the contact's residence. The following day, the vehicle would not start. The contact also mentioned that the battery was replaced in august of 2019. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact started the ignition and the instrument panel cluster displayed a dim lighting and then suddenly failed to illuminate. The failure occurred sporadically and also when the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the instrument panel cluster. The failure recurred after the repair. The vehicle had not been repaired for the second failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

Driving south, from michigan, had driven approx. 600 miles of a 700+ mile trip, vehicle started "chugging" at 70mph on the highway, decelerating, unable accelerate, this was not in an area of differing elevations, it would almost stall then surge, then repeat. Cruise control was not being used at that time due to heavy traffic.pulled the vehicle off the highway, into a store parking lot, shut it off for a few minutes, restarted and no further problems until today when driving for less than 15 minutes, on the highway at 60mpg, heavy traffic, it began again.again, it was pulled over shut off and restarted with no further incidents today.you people need to do something to fix this.someone is going to be fatally injured.i am not the only one experiencing this same issue.

Airbag light on, horn and cruise control stopped working, found out its the clock spring, had trouble steering the car at one point, found that a part broke the clock spring and got lodged in the steering components, happened during a turn onto a street

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.while idling at a traffic light, the vehicle stalled without warning.the contact was able to restart the vehicle immediately.secondly, she noticed that the vehicle would not start intermittently.the dealer replaced the wireless module, but the failure recurred several days later.she called the dealer again and was referred to the manufacturer; however, they did not provide sufficient assistance.the failure mileage was 29,000 and current mileage was 31,000.

I've put 2 starters on my 2007 chysler sebring in the last 3 months. The car starts greats then while driving it starts to make this loud grinding noise and once you cut the car off it just clicks. This time it did the same thing but this time when i cut the car off it kept running and i had to go turn the ignition switch off again and of course it won't start.

The instrument panel light that illuminates the speedometer and other gauges works randomly. Airbag warning light illuminates and the warning bell sounds at random times. Engine stalls when stopping and starting in wet weather.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving at various speeds, the contact stated that the vehicle would stall and lose all power. The failure recurred intermittently and the contact was able to successfully restart the vehicle after the failures. In addition, the contact noticed that the tire pressure monitoring system light was illuminated. The dealer informed the contact that the vin was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring). The contact was awaiting a response from the manufacturer. A private mechanic made several attempts to duplicate the failure, but the vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 75,000.

I was driving at about 55 mph, etc light starts blinking erratically. I then lose power and go down to 10-20 mph. Later that weekend, i started my car and the same thing happened, without it driving.

I own a 2007 chrysler sebring touring sedan. Sometimes when breaking or accelerating, the vehicles electronic throttle control sensor light will engage, and the car may fail to break or accelerate, or even completely turn off. This has happened to me on the highway, as well as city streets. This has become a more frequent issue over the past 6 months. The vehicle also sometimes jerks or transmission will skip when this happens. I have noticed the dashboard lights and radio turn off with no reason while driving. I was told no problems could be found with the electrical system as of this moment, and am still having these same, dangerous problems.

The electrical in the dash started flickering on and off without warning. Eventually it stopped working all together. I took it to a service dept i work at and they told me i needed to take it back to the dealer because they would have to rip the whole dash apart and replace it. That would cost me around $600. Seems like other people have had the same problem. Has this ever been a recall?

My car lost pressure without warning during rush hour traffic on the interstate and just came to a stop and the engine was barely running eventhough it never cut off. It would crank fine but would not move, no matter how much you mash the accelerator pedal and the electronic throttle control indicator light came on , then blinked a few times and went back out. I had to have the car towed and about 4 hours later, i went to check it again and it started back to driving fine. I just new i would get slammed into on that interstate.please check into this matter thank you.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving approximately 60 mph, the headlights and instrument panel lights dimmed intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 129,000.

While traveling in virginia on int.64 the electronic throttle control warning light came on and the car lost power. I turned the car off waited a minute and the car was fine. This has happened three times in the past. Dealer claimed it was fixed and it keeps happening periodically. Normally on trips.

This is a 2007 chrysler sebring touring sedan with 2.7 l "flex-fuel" engine purchased used (one prior owner in wi) on 05-22-09 with 31554mi. According to "carfax" the original owner had regular timely maintenance done. On 07-11-08 at 21199mi the first complaint was made at purchasing dealership about engine "stutter" or "jitter" at 30mph particularly when engine was cold. No record as to what was serviced. On 10-24-08 at 25276mi the egr valve was replaced per a chrysler service bulletin. Then on 01-30-09 at 27988mi concerning the same sort of "stutter" or jitter" complaint, a "co-pilot" was attached for 1 month which recorded no faults. The vehicle was offered for sale on 05-14-09. I have noted the same sort of problem since my purchase of the vehicle on 05-22-09. When coming to a slow or stop, particularly if the engine is cold (but not always), the rpm rises to over 2000, the car "surges" ahead until i press the brake harder. (this condition causes a much higher chance of a collision with another stopped car, pedestrian in a crosswalk or a stationary object - like a light post in a parking lot.) sometimes the engine will stop after this and require restarting. One time i observed the "service engine soon" lamp come on for about 5 seconds after the "surge". I had the car in to the dealership (toyota) where i purchased the vehicle concerning the "surging" problem. They checked for service codes (including soft codes) and found none. They were unable to proceed from there and suggested to take the vehicle to a chrysler dealer to continue diagnosis. This will be done at the earliest available time.

Air bag warning light intermittently comes on.moving the seat will sometimes cause it to go off.recall #07v240000 describes this problem but smith auto plex in american fork, utah (where i purchased the car) refuses to do anything about it.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. Whenever thecontact drives the vehicle at a speed of 10mph the vehicle will suddenly shut off without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact had the alternator replaced, however the failure is still occurring. The contact has noticed the failure since purchasing the vehicle. The current and failuremileages were 56000. Updated 05/07/10.*ljthe consumer stated the dashboard lights would flicker. Updated 08/26/10

My car lost power without warning on the interstate and just came to a stop and the engine crank fine but would not start, change spark plugs but did not matter, the electronic throttle control indicator light came on, have to get it to.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that wile driving 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000(electrical system ) but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 73,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while attempting to turn on the vehicle it failed to start and the check tpms warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and verified that the vehicle was not included in recall nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 74,000. The current mileage was 74,60.

Instrumental cluster dash lights is defective part.

My sebring stalls when i come to a stop or am traveling at low speeds. The car has stalled in the middle of intersections and is obviously very dangerous to drive. The car additionally lunges at low speeds or when i accelerate. The seatbelt light on the dash goes on and off sporadically. I have determined through personal investigation the wire connection for the seatbelt light is under the driver seat and it doesn't always make a good connection. When the connector is touched the light will go off and on so that tells me that the connector has a short and is faulty. A plastic part in the gear shift has broken and made it impossible to shift without manipulation with a screw driver, and there is a loud clicking sound that comes out of the air condition vent/duct when the ac is turned on. I have owned many vehicles through the years and this is the first car that i have purchased that i am actually scared for my family and ito drive anywhere. I will never again purchase a chrysler, but not just because of the above but because they have not gained my trust. This company should try a new campaign of trying to gain the trust of the consumer, and they could start by accepting the fact that they have many faulty vehicles that need to be recalled and repaired, this is not only good sound advice this would be good business practice.

My car stalls when i am stopped at a red light. No lights or warnings, just stalls.

I purchased the vehicle listed above in 2011 at city auto plaza while under warranty.the vehicle served my purpose as it was for work and now school only fuel efficient.about 6 or 7 months ago i began to experience an intermittent problem with vehicle it would crank but not start.i would have the vehicle towed to my local mechanic and not faulty codes were discovered.this happened about three or four times until frustrated i parked the vehicle around the first of february 2013 and used my other vehicle for school. The other day i decided to have the vehicle looked at by another local dealership near my home not the chrysler dealership were purchased my dealing with the dealership folks are not positive or beneficial to me. The mechanic at buddy rays auto care in canon city checked the vehicle and traced the problem to a connection wiring system that was attached to the fuel pump.from their explanation the vehicle was in danger of catching fire if this problem persisted.i contacted my local dealership in an attempt to report this matter and they have not assisted telling me instead that the car had to be in their shop.because of the danger posed by this problem i have had the vehicle repaired at a cost of 765.00 dollars to replace the fuel pump, and wiring connectors plus labor.my concern for this car having less than 100,000 miles in my opinion should not have face this type of malfunction in the fuel and electrical system.

2007 chrysler sebring. Consumer writes in regard to airbag light switching on and off, brake light under trunkmelted holding bulb and connection, and housing melted. *as

My chrysler sebring's electronic throttle control light goes on for a second or 2 and then goes back off randomly. The car idles high and seem to want to stall out. The vehicle will go into limp mode when the etc light is solid and won't go more than 10-15mph. There is no check engine light and mechanic found no codes to tell what was wrong. I have been on the freeway or city streets when it will randomly go into limp mode and have to safely maneuver away from traffic as vehicle slows with no response from the gas peddle. I have read online that many other people have had this safety problem and no one seems to be able to fix it or find the source. I observed many others spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on different speculated parts that "may" cause this to happen. The best scenario after people replaced different parts was that the vehicle was fine for maybe a week or two but the problems came right back. I hope with your help we can put an end to this unsafe condition of this vehicle and protect the consumers. Thank you for reading this and taking my experience and many others into consideration.

Car stalls, engine stutters and hesitates when at a stop, turning or going around a bend at 30 mph.when initially stepping on the gas rpms will drop then surge (~2000 rpm).almost hit a car in a parking lot on one occasion because of a surge.also, the car stuttered and jerked on the highway.chrysler dealership reflashed pcm on one visit and ran diagnostics on another visit and found nothing wrong with the car.

The defective integrated power module (tipm) would cause my vehicle to do strange things. Like loose complete power while driving on the highway or in town. Also effects where starter cranks but wont start. Battery would be drained for no reason. I have the vehicle in the shop right now getting that part replaced. I asked them what did they find out about my vehicle after a couple of days of them working on it and they stated they where unsure still working on it. They gave me a call back a few days later and they stated that the issue is the tipm and that they got that info from chrysler because they eventually had to contact them to see if they knew what the issue was and that they told them that this is a very common issue in chrysler vehicles made from 2007 to 2014. To me this part on chrysler vehiclesshould be a recall for 0ne it is very dangerous for your vehicle to loose power while driving and also the fact that they know this is an issue.

I was driving when my hood pop right up and it has been the second time. Also my cruise control doesn't work and some light inside don't turn on or my mirrors.

I was driving the vehicle on the highway. The etc light came on and the car would not accelerate. Coasted to the side of the road, turned car off, then back on and it ran fine. It has done this at least 30 times since. Now my etc light blinks and car will only go 10-20 mph, slows to 5mph going up any grade. Idle is rough and idles between 1500 and 2000. Sometimes when i first start the car it will run okay for about 2-3 minutes then etc light suddenly come on, car decelerates and i have almost been hit several times. Now the brake light comes on and off as does the check engine light. The dealer does not know what is wrong. This seems to be a common problem with this model vehicle. Chrysler needs to do something before someone is seriously injured or killed. I will never buy another chrysler product because they will not fix this problem, always say they do not know what the problem is.

Takata recall my etc light flashes and you cant accelerate the only way to get it to go off is turn car off then back on .i've put new throttle bodyand ecm on it but still have the problem. Help if you have any advice

2007 chrysler sebring electronic throttle control light comes on and car cannot accelerate stalls almost to almost to a complete stop... Only turning off the car resets this light for who knows how long it just happens and is very dangerous...this problem needs to be addressed before somebody gets seriously hurt...

My 2007 chrysler sebring caught on fire. Smoke was coming from the dashboard and steering area. The abs light came on after the smoke. (ps there were no physical injuries, but mentally it's frightening, we're terrified to get back into that car! mentally 2 persons were injured.

Interior dash lights flicker on and off at night, sometimes remaing off.as such, speedometer isn't illuminated, as well as other guages.i googled this condition and by the responses i saw, this is a widespread problem in the chrysler sebring and there should be an immediate recall before someone gets hurt from diverting attention from the road to the dash situation.this happens if the vehicle is stopped, moving, turning, on a city street and in highway conditions.it happens when traveling on smooth pavement or rougher conditions.the vehicle is in like new condition and has never been wrecked.

Dashboard was dim with airbag indicator light always on when purchased. The problems started with dashboard lights going in and out and the wipers not working properly around november of last year. Was told fuses needed to be changed, so they were. Same issue. Then 3 months ago taillight bulb went out, changed it and the taillights have not worked since. Was told it has to be taken to dealer authorized shop for electrical box repair after taking car to three different shops who all said they could not find the issue. Today battery looking light came on and before i could turn around to go back home the car immediately shut off and would not start without a jump. The lightning bolt in parentheses came up and car accelerated without my foot being on gas but would not go above 30 mph once i made it home it turned off and refuses to start 6 hrs later. The battery light, lightning bolt symbol and airbag lights all show on dash and will not go off.

In the past 3 years that i have owned this vehicle each time is rains and/or humid my car would stall. I took it to 2 different mechanic shops (this was done in the span of three years). Unfortunately no one was able to find or to fix the problem. It seems quite dangerous as my car would stall as it is running, while i am driving (talk about unsafe). I noticed that the issue would surface when it is raining and/or very humid outside. My car would start to loose power, a bit of a engine hiccup, and then as i approach a stop or red light, the car would stall completely. Which means i need to put it in park, and restart the engine.mechanic checked it and said there is "no issues" but any time it rains i have this problem. Also they checked the computer and replaced some other recalled item, and computer does not show any errors. How can one drive a car that unpredictably stalls and no one, even the dealer, is able to locate and fix the problem?

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the headlights, interior lights and dashboard lights would sporadically flash.the dealer replaced the multifunction switch several times however, the failure was not corrected. The contact also stated that the vehicle intermittently stalled without warning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure and current mileage was 45,771.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While parked, the contact noticed that the tire pressure warning light was illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer stated to the contact that there was a recall for the failure under nhtsa campaign id number: 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring), but the recall had already been performed. The contact inspected the tire pressure monitoring system and noticed that the wiring was melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

The horn keeps randomly going off both while im driving and when its completely shut off in the middle of the night.multiple times its gone off while i've been driving its almost caused wrecks.something needs to be done before an accident does happen.

Traveling at 60 mph the etc light begins to flash and the vehicle will not accelerate, although rpms increase significantly.this happens many times going downhill.dealer was never able to repair.resets if car is restarted, but this is not safe traveling at 60mph on the highway in traffic.

My 2007 chrysler sebrings left electrical motor and connector shorted out like a previous recall.chrysler informed me my vehicle does not fall under the current recall even though i have the same issue as other models in my vehicles year

Gas cap light has come on at least 10 times--stay on for 2-3 days, then go off for no reason-was at a local mechanic several times--been reset over and over. Radio keeps blowing a fuse-replaced at least 7 times. Headlights are delayed coming on when they are turned on. Now at 91,000 miles-vehicle refuses to start--tries to turn over, but wont. Had at local mechanic for 1 week-no codes will come up. Several components replaced-still refuses to start... Now being towed to chrysler dealer----and vin#--is not listed on recall.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the entire instrument panel illuminated. The dealer stated that the fuel pump and electrical module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000. Updated 10/23/2014*lj updated 05/21/2015

Multiple issues with this vehicle.the latest one is the most serious.a faulty abs sensor cause the brakes to operate abnormally.the abs light may come on then go off and (periodically goes on and off).regardless of the light status, the abs system randomly engages and does not allow the vehicle to stop in a safe manner.the abs when engaged resists the driver from apply pressure to the brake pedal.the result is the car not stopping.luckily i was going slow and there was no one around other wise there would have been an accident. The abs light came on, resisted my braking force then went off and allow the brakes to engage as anticipated. The roads were normal, dry and free of debris/ loose fill.this happened twice over two days.on the second day i parked the car and let it sit until it's service date.the service department diagnosed a faulty sensor with code c1044.they said it was due to rust.first this is a 2007 car, second if rust on a sensor is going to inhibit normal braking then the part is defective and or the design is defective.i was lucky some one else is not going to be.abs is designed to pump the brakes under certain conditions.i'm sure normal driving at 25 mph on a dry normal surface isn't one of them.even if the abs fails the operator should still be able to stop the car by applying manual force to the brake petal.this failure does not allow effective use of the brakes! second issue is the lights (both interior and exterior dimming) with audible surges in the climate control blower.the dealer says this is due to my remote starter even though this issue has been occurring well before the remote starter was involved. Third issue is the rear window repeatedly coming out of track there were other issues with the brakes rotors warping and brake light coming on, gas cap light coming on, tire sensors

Dashboard lights intermittently turn on and off while car is on and driving; especially the'airbag' and 'check engine' and "exclamation point' lights. The 'check engine' light is always on and blinks while in drive. While the check engine is blinking, the car drives slower and does not pick up speed past 20 mph. All spark plugs have been changed as well as the cranks sensor.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated the vehicle stalled numerous times without warning while driving at any speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic test that was unable to locate a failure code. The dealer cleaned the fuel system and replaced the engine spark plugs, but the failure was not corrected. The vehicle continued to stall. The manufacturer stated the vin was not included in nhtsa recall campaign id number: 08v152000 electrical system: wiring, and denied assistance with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 65,000.

The contact owns 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled on several occasions and the contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact indicated that there was an electrical short within the vehicle. The instrument panel lights and gauges shorted out and failed to work on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician diagnosed that the instrument panel cluster, the front passenger door switch and the passenger side rear door panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact continued to experience the vehicle jerking violently and then stalling intermittently. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 114,560.

2007 chrysler sebring touring. Consumer states engine fire and inspector found no indication of a manufacturing defect that caused or contributed to the incident. *tgw

Having continual issues with lights on dash flickering:2 repairs completed in last 18 months and still broke.cosmetically, the car is crappy since the day i bought it; paint flaking off, tire rims have pitted, inside door handles flaking off paint too, among a few others.however, my heated seats burning through is what has me very irate!i was driving and had two adult passengers with me.both of us in the front had the heated seats turned on returning home from running errands in the city 45 miles away.my passenger is 8 months pregnant and i have low lumbar issues, so heated seats are always used.we had both complained that we found it weird that if we made quick stops during our running, when we got back into the car and turned the heated seats on, it felt warmer than usual.however, if we were somewhere for a longer period of time, the seats didn't get terribly hot right away.the car sat for 48 hours before it was time for me to pack up and head back to my own home, when i noticed what i thought to be a stain on my seat (from my daughters dog thinking he was going with me).after trying to clean it and nothing happening, i touched it with my finger tip, only to find that it was a burn spot.if that would have caught fire while driving, i could have crashed!i could have killed my pregnant passenger, her hubby and her unborn baby!since today is a holiday, you can bet that i will be calling the dealership first thing tomorrow.i am the first and only owner of this car.

The car had a new set of spark plugs and a transmission service at 60,000 miles. The car was being driven at freeway speeds when it lost power and then was stuck in second gear. It was towed to a chrysler dealer where they serviced the transmission believing that was the problem, because the obdii system reported no current or stored error codes. They returned the car and stated that it was running rough and should have a tune up. The car was driven about 180 miles at freeway speeds when it again lost power and was stuck in second gear. This time the car was driven along the shoulder to the next off ramp at which time the check engine light came on. The car was towed to another chrysler dealer where the obdii codes showed that the catalytic converter and an oxygen sensor had failed. The dealer replaced these items. Fuel economy dropped from about 30 mpg to about 23 mpg. The local dealer looked into this problem but said that the obdii system is reporting no current or stored codes so there is nothing they can do per the factory, they also have noted that the engine is running roughly.chrysler was contacted about the problem and agreed to refund the cost of the transmission service because it was not the problem. I mailed all the copies of the requested paperwork to them but they never responded back and have not paid.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of power and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 08v152000 (electrical system); however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

I have had my vehicle in for service on two different occasions for the same problem, the check engine light won't go off and now my vehicle will not engage out of park.

I drive a 2007 chry. Sebring touring edition, the air bag light keeps coming on, cruise control does not work, and everytime it rains, the entire passengers side inside the veh gets really wet.

The car will stop suddenly while driving i've been told its an electrical issue in the transmission, but i see from the recalls that chrysler knows about these issues yet these cars are still been sold and driven even though they can have very dangerous consequences. The doors locks and unlocks on their own, the lights flicker. The car will also while in park jerk and rev as if someone is hitting the gas even though they are not, this also happens when in drive and my foot is on the break

Car wont cut off.when turned off and key is removed car continue to run. Turning key too off position and removing the key will not turn off car, and there is no way to stop car from running battery is located under car on wheel well.

I was riding on the highway with my daughter in passenger seat when suddenly my engine light started blinking and the rpm's shot up to about 7,000 and continued if accelerator was press. I immediately pulled over. Call aaa to have car towed to my destination. The car was now in what is called limp mode and has been for 2 months now.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic where it was determined that the wiring harness was exposed and could have been corroded. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 08v152000 (electrical system) but was advised by the manufacturer that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 88,000 and the current mileage was 114,928.

For the past several months my dash lights have been flashing, sometimes going off and staying off, and my remote start will start the car but then it immediately shuts off. I did some research on what could be causing this and discovered nhtsa reference # 08v-152, which describes exactly what i've been experiencing, and my car does have the tire pressure monitoring system. When i contacted chrysler they told me that there have never been any recalls on my particular vehicle. I know this to be untrue because shortly after i purchased the car i received a recall notice for a spring in the gear shift. Chrysler informed me that if i want this corrected it would at my own expense. The problem that initiated the recall can result in the car stalling without warning and causing an accident. My car's vin does not come up as a vehicle included in this recall, but if the problem is occurring, then why wouldn't chrysler want to take care of it for safety's sake and their reputation? believe me, i plan on telling anyone i can about this and i will never consider another chrysler product.

I purchased my car used 3 yrs ago.i paid if off this year.the ongoing troublesome issue is that the car stalls out unexpectedly- usually during wet weather.it has happened about 5 times or so.but, it has almost happened many more times...the car sputters and just about stalls out.again, all during wet weather.i contacted the dealership where i purchased car after the 1st incident.they took the car and said i needed a new battery ; that it was being drained when i had wipers, heat, radio etc all on at once and that was why it stalled.i went with it.well, it has stalled several times since.all while driving and very scary.the power steering goes out.another thing that may or may not be related...is that the dash lights flicker on and off; also a safety issue.i will be driving and all of a sudden can't see my speedometer or anything.i think there is definitely an electrical issue.i see that there have been recalls related to the electrical system.i just don't know what to do.i think they should look into this.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp and the electric throttle control warning lamp illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle suddenly reduced speed lower than 50 mph. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 07v240000 (air bags) and 08v152000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.while driving 40 mph, the vehicle shakes.the brakes fail to work properly and feel as if they are tapping on something when the pedal is depressed.when the contact turns the vehicle, there is a rubbing sensation.in addition, the cruise control does not work.the contact could not control the vehicle because it accelerated on its own.the abs light illuminated on the instrument panel.the contact received a recall notice for the tire pressure monitoring system and electrical connectors and the vehicle was repaired.the dealer stated that the vehicle was not under warranty due to the recall that was issued.the vehicle will only be repaired at the contact's expense.the vehicle was diagnosed as having electrical failure.the nhtsa campaign id number was unknown.the failure mileage was 44,751 and the current mileage was unknown.

Horn stopped working and airbag light is on. It stop working while i tried pressing on the horn while driving.

My 2007 chrysler sebring is stuck in park.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle would sporadically stall when driving at various speeds, attempting a turn or when braking to a stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the alternator was replaced but the failure was not remedied. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 08v152000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 48,000.

I got ready to leave work and my car would not start. It kept turning but would not start. I had it towed from virginia to maryland to the dealership. After a diagnostic test it was discovered that the fuel pump pin melted out of the module. When i asked the dealer what causes the pin to melt, i was told that it was a wiring problem and that it could have possibly caused the car to catch on fire. I had to have it repaired and it was expenses. As i completed a search, i discovered that there were several other complaints regarding this same problem.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving at various speeds, the brake warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled while idling. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed, but the technician was unable to determine the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

Passenger airbag light stays on and dashboard cluster does not light up, both are dangerous and should not be ignored.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle would loose power and stall sporadically and without warning.the dealer was contacted and advised that thevin was not associated with nhtsa campaign id number: 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring).the manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 49,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that when driving 60-70 mph, the vehicle would exhibit a loud, abnormal grinding. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the ball bearings in the alternator failed and the alternator would need replacing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 74,000.

I had no brake lights and the seat belt indicator light kept dinging as well as the tire low indicator.it was all because of the total intergrated power module.it was on back order for five weeks.it cost 750.00 for just the part.i feel chrysler doesn't recall these even after 1000s of complaints because it is to costly.they are making money on the part alone. I will never buy another chrysler over them not doing the right thing.i could've been rear ended over this. It cost me 995 just to get the tipm put in.i still haven't fixed the seat belt dinging or the low tire dinging yet.hate to see how much that will cost.somebody needs to make chrysler do the right thing and issue a recall.safety before anything.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.while driving 10 mph, the vehicle hesitated when attempting shift into second gear.the dealer stated that they repaired the failure however they did not informed the contact of the cause or the remedy.the same failure occurred the next day.the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure.the contact stated that she heard a beeping noise.the dealer stated that the seat belt sensor failed.as of october 9, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the failure.the contact stated the signal light blinks too fast.the dealer stated that turning light sensor failed.as of october 9, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the failure.the failure mileage was 42 and the current mileage was 4,300.

My was making a loud knocking sounds while increasing speed, then sound would go away. Took it to dealership an they stated i didn't have any problems with my car. June 2011, my car started stalling while at stop light, now my car is wanting to stall while i'm driving around 50mph. Dash lights also flicker on and off. Chrysler dealership states they can't find anything wrong with my car since it's not giving them codes but recommend i replace the engine. I've been reading reviews of the same problems with this car company and there cars. How are they not responsible for all these motors people are having to replace, i think they should have to fix these problems an not get away with it.

After driving my car for a 30 min or more, park, turn off, come back 20 min to 1hr starter cranks and cranks and cranks.it eventually starts.

Gas gauge stopped working.according to dealer mechanic, fuel gage sending unit is not working....fuel pump does work. Dashboard lights no longer work also. Check engine light stays on and cannot be cleared or problem diagnosed.

In the past 3 years that i have owned this vehicle each time is rains and/or humid my car would stall. I took it to 6 different mechanic shops as well as to chrysler dealer near parma, oh (this was done in the span of three years). Unfortunately no one was able to find or to fix the problem. It seems quite dangerous as my car would stall as it is running, while i am driving (talk about unsafe). I noticed that the issue would surface when it is raining and/or very humid outside.my car would start to loose power, a bit of a engine hiccup, and then as i approach a stop or red light, the car would stall completely. Which means i need to put it in park, and restart the engine. Chrysler dealer checked it and said there is "no issues" but any time it rains i have this problem. Also they checked the computer and replaced some other recalled item, and computer does not show any errors.how can one drive a car that unpredictably stalls and no one, even the dealer, is able to locate and fix the problem?

I was going about 55 mph when the electronic throttle control light came on. It was flashing with made it impossible to reach speeds over 40 mph. I was a danger on the highway because i was unable to maintain speed as well as the vehicle hesitating. It took me 1hour and a half to travel 35 miles. The next day started it and the light went out, i have been afraid to drive it. No one seems to have an easy answer.

Fuse box completely shorted out and there was a burning smell. Car stalls without warning in traffic and on the highway and will not start. The car will crank but won't start leaving the vehicle disabled in the middle of traffic. The vehicle also can be parked and not start. Cranks but won't start. It has happened on more than 4 occasions 1 of the times my children were in the car and we were on the freeway. Another time i was alone on the freeway and another time i was stopped at a stoplight and it died and would not start leaving me stranded in the middle of the road in rush hour traffic. All other times have been when the car was parked. The date below is the most recent incident.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitor light illuminated and the engine stalled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 144,000.

The illumination of the instrument panel cluster board has went out. It kept flickering on and off, but now it stays off. I can not drive the car at night because i can not see the speedometer.

Thank you.

I have researched and several of these cars have this issue.i bought my car used august 2018,i love this car...but.. The dash lights have never worked!!so, if you drive my car at dark you have no idea how fast you are driving!!please won't you fix this?this is a costly repair, that is too well known for these cars and makes it very dangerous!!!also, the cruise is affected and does not work as well.please fix for me.

I own a 2007 sebring (vin [xxx]) with approximately 56,700 miles. I purchase the vehicle in nov. 2008 considered new with 29,000 miles from saturn of fremont, ca.the car is driven primarily by my wife to and from work and to drop off and pick up the children. After a recent oil change on may 2, 2010, my family and i noticed an extremely loud engine noise.for the first week after the oil change, the car would start finebut the noise became worse. The engine began to loose pressure while driving on the highway and as of today, will not start at all.i visited a chrysler automall dealership on sommersville road in antioch, ca on saturday may 15.i was told that i would have to pay a 130.00 diagnostic fee as the vehicle was out of warranty.i was under the impression that the vehicle was still under warranty as i was told at the time of purchase that the warranty would be extended to 3 years/60,000 miles.the technician mentioned that the noise was a radiator or fan motor.then i checked the recalls for 2007 sebrings and found two recalls (nhtsa campaign id numbers: 08vi52000 and 07v473000 regarding engineand electrical matters, one of which has the same concern that i have.i called chrysler and spoke to brittany who said my vin did not have any concerns so the company could not help me.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Purchased 2007 sebring base model one month ago. Had dealership complete all recalls before purchase. Tail lights attached to the upper portion of the truck flooded/filled with water anytime there was rain and when you open the trunk it dumps the water on your head. All 3 break light seals were replaced and plugs removed to allow better drainage - issue resolved. Emergency break light intermittently illuminates while driving - emerg break is off and new breaks installed issue still unresolved. Delayed auto off headlights did not shut off. Returned to vehicle 2 hours later with daytime running lights still on and since they are automatic there is no way to turn them off. After cycling the engine they shut off, but now fail to come on at all. In the base model there is no feature to turn them "on" or "off" - issue unresolved. The vehicle also refuses to change the setting to turn the "auto unlock" feature "on" when vehicle is put in park. This feature also refuses to work on "first unlock" on the key fob. The doors just continue to stay locked - issue unresolved. I hope mine does not start shutting off on me like so many other complaints.

This car shuts off, all the light so on and off and this has been happening since it was less than a year old.we have taken it to chrysler dealership and they have said it didn't happen when they had it.the interior light comes on when you turn on right turn signal.the abs light goes on and off and the seatbelt light.

When it began, the car sometimes would not catch when i turned the ignition. Then one day it was raining and i pulled up to a red light and the car cut off. It eventually progressed to the car randomly slowing down and/or not going over 20 mph. When it first started i could turn the car off and back on and it would be fine, now the car must sit for hours before it begins to work properly again.

While a mechanic was working on my car he noticed that a wiring harness was fused together, and the fan was not working.i got on line and found that in november 2007 there was a recall (g39) and it was performed on my car( i purchased my car new in february 2007). There was no indication my car was running hot, but, it obviously could have caught fire .the wires were arcing. I immediately got an appt with adealer on 11/18 and this time the following parts were replaced: jumper ra 08015002, motor rad 08034280 and shroud 07008002free of charge .the original recall was called g39. The original recall only installed a fan motor overlay harness. The original recall obviously did not correct the originalproblem. But it took 7 years to happen again.

Driving down a normal traffic filled street, car all of a sudden shakes and, wont go passed 20 mph and the electronic throttle control light comes on. Its happened before but if i turn off the car and restart, the car would return to normal. This particular day it didn't. Took it to tire plus, they said i need a fuel line cleaning or something like that. Fixed the problem for about a week and today as i was driving from work doing about 45 mph the electronic throttle control light comes on again, 3 times in under five mins. Each time had to restart my car. Its dangerous when youre in traffic and late at night, having to pull over and restart.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the key was faulty. The key was replaced, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000.

While driving noticed the back of the drivers seat was getting very hot.found a burn hole in back of seat about 3/8th of an inch. I was using the heated seats at the time.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring limited and when i take my key out of the ignition and open the drivers door it still indicates on the dash that the key is in the ignition, therefore causing my key fobs to not work as well. I cannot set my alarm on my car because the key fobs are not working and i have to sit in the car for 30-60 seconds waiting for the dash to stop indicating the key is still in the ignition so i can lock the car doors. It is a big hassle and inconvenience.

The dash lights started blinking like a strobe light now they will just be off completely and randomly come back on. When they are off at night i cannot see my speed gas or temp.

Engine is stalling once car is cranked. When pressing the brakes to put car in reverse or drive, the car cuts off. Once able to get into drive and try to drive, the car's brakes can not be touched or the car will stop instantly. The car also does stop and go driving like it's pulling on something heavy.

Purchased a 2007 chrysler sebring on september 2007 (used).i was not notified of the two recalls (radiator fan connector and tire pressure connector) both causes fire.on june 21, 2008 my vehicle caught fire.it was totaled.chrysler stated they would give me a rental.however, even after the investigatorsand engineers stated that the fire was due to the recalls, they still have not given me a rental vehicle as stated. Not to mention be very rude.

The electric throttle light came on. Car loses power and then will only go 5miles p/hr. .very dangerous situation when you are on the freeway in busy traffic.

Most recently the electronic throttle control light came on, the owners manual indicates that the vehicle may loose control of speed and cause an accident. Further research indicated that this was a common problem and that people have lost control of there vehicles and or been in accidents as they were unable to slow down or stop do to this issue. Many of the complainants on line were individuals with young children as i am and have serious concerns for injury or death. Local dealers had issues resolving the problem.my second issue which is also a common issue for chrysler owners is that the instrument cluster lights go out and cease to work and you will not be able to see any of your instruments at night such as your speed, tachometer, gas gauge, engine temperature ect. This is a big safety concern as you can not see your speed at night or early in the morning when kids are going to school and reduced speeds are in affect, as well as being able to know if your running out of gas or car is overheating causing further damage. I did although find a recall for different models with gas gauge issues as a safety concern for running out of gas. This instrument cluster issue has to be far worse than the gas gauge recall as it causes the same concerns plus several more in just one problem. When i called the recall line they said that its not on the recall list but was able to confirm the gas gauge issue i attached below.fuel gauge may overstate fuel level models : chrysler sebring, dodge avenger engine, march 16, 2009 the began march, 2009. The chrysler recall number is j02. I will be forwarding this complaint and posting to the executives of chrysler as well as my local media, and insurance company for validity of my complaint. I hope to be contacted for this issue to be resolved.

I was told it's electrical problem and the car doesn't go over 20 miles and it says that it's the intake also says it's the muffler and sensors and other things which i have had check and it neither.and sometimes it pushes back or is stalls and just turns off in the middle of the intersection.

Once able to get into drive and try to drive, the car's brakes can not be touched or the car will stop instantly. The car also does stop and go driving like it's pulling on something heavy.

It's stops while driving, but the radio still is playing during the many times this had happened . On both city street and turning corners.

I purchased the vehicle in may of 2007 and within the first few months the car stopped for no apparent reason while driving on 3 separate occasions.the incidents startled me greatly that i requested to receive a new car.the dealership refused and had someone fly in from los angeles, ca to fix.now after 5 years the car is doing same thing.i presented this safety issue to the manager of the dealership by the name of [xxx].[xxx] proceeded to tell me that since i did not use him for my servicing that he would not assist me.he flatly told me how could he help me when he didn't make any money off of me.i've been told by other people with this same vehicle that they had the same problem of stopping without any notice.this is dangerous and can cause death or a terrible accident.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Very major problem. On a cold start, if the car was off for at least 6 hours, it cranks and cranks and cranks for about 8 seconds before starting, when it does start, it revs all the way to 2500 rpms by itself and slowly goes down. If i try to put it in drive before it stops revving, the rpms go up and down by themselves and my etc light starts flashing and i am unable to control the rpms. I then have to turn off the car and start it again to stop the car spasms. 50% when i start it and let it stop revving before shifting to drive, it goes down to 1000 rpms and i'm good to go. The other 50% of the time, it flashes the etc light and stutters and i must keep restarting the car to be able to safely drive it. I searhed up the problem and saw that bad spark plugs or a dirty intake manifold could be the problems. I then got my spark plugs changed and intake manifold taken out my car to be cleaned out. The problem still persisted. I then searched more and went through a thread of people having the same exact problem, people with dodge avengers and chrysler sebrings all around the year my car model is. Multiple commenters in the thread explained that they put through a complaint to the nhtsa and a recall for their cars were made. Multiple people also said that the part in the car causing this problem is the fault of chrysler and dodge. Here's a link to the thread: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2008-current-dodge-avenger/226963-electronic-throttle-control-light-horse-power-loss.html this problem has both happened when my car is in park and in the middle of driving. It happened once when i was in the second lane on a three lane highway. This was the most dangerous situation because the car started to slow down in the middle of the highway until i was able to get to the shoulder and turn off the car. It's been happening since 2/3/20but today, (2/15/20) was the harshest symptoms

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 200. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the engine coolant temperature warning indicator illuminated and black smoke emitted from under the hood. As i was slowing for a red signal at an intersection, my engine shut off as if i turned off the key. It didn't shudder or give any indication that there was difficulty with the engine performance, it simply ceased running.i read a ap article on the chrysler 200 engine stall in this mornings paper and noted that motor being investigated by your agency was the same motor that is in my sebring.i wanted to notify you of my problem to make a written record in the event that the problem continues or exacerbates and there is a need for me to bring my vehicle to the dealership for the problem repair.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the vehicle shook and stalled. The contact also stated that loud noises came from the engine. The vehicle regained power independently. The contact depressed the accelerator several times to resolve failure. The failure recurred consistently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for inspection but the technicians were unable to determine the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.

Thank you.

Car wont cut off.when turned off and key is removed car continue to run. Turning key too off position and removing the key will not turn off car, and there is no way to stop car from running battery is located under car on wheel well.

Takata recalli bought this car on 4/1/2019. On 4/11/2019 my car completely broke down on the freeway. There was a messaging saying hot oil. The engine stopped working and it said problems with tpm system. I had to get my car towed to the car mechanic because it wouldn't start at all.

Throttle body went bad which was very dangerous as my son was driving car and it suddenly lost power and my son was nearly hit by another car.the plastic gears in this part should be recalled and fixed before there is a large lawsuit against dodge/chrysler for a poorly designed part that should not be put into vehicles!

Car turns off automatically at low speed.brakes lock at the same time this happens.i took it back to dealer to get serviced, and they stated that nothing was found.the serviceman did tell me that he called the chrysler corp, and they told him they never heard of anything like this happening but on a forum on the internet, there are many complaints of this occurring.i told the man that it is a safety issue and how dangerous it is, and he agreed with me.this malfunction occurred two times already since i bought the car from the dealer.fuccillo vw 2242 central avenue, schenectady, ny 12304(518) 374-9161.my next issue is that i need sway bars.i brought the car back yesterday dec 27, 2014, because asi was at a stop light, the light changed green, the transmission shifted gears at the same time i accelerated on the gas to go and i heard clicking for about a mile.the noise went away.i explained the problem to the serviceman and i was told that i need sway bars now.i just purchased the car in sept of this year, and i'm so disappointed to encounter all these problems.my extended warranty does not cover the work.i also say that this has been wearing from the previous owner and i am not at fault, nor should i have to pay for the work.i seriously do not even want this car anymore, and i am paying for it monthly from a loan they gave me from capital one financing.this is chaos, and has exacerbated my illness of having ms.i was duped.please help.

I drove my 2007 chry sebring to a store and pulled into a parking space and attempted to put my car in park, the physical gear shift inside the car was in park but my gage said i was in reverse & my car was stuck in this position. I had this same issue a couple of years ago & was told it happens alot on chryslers & its a little plastic part that keeps breaking with no recall on it & we are forced to purchase the whole shift level when its not needed. Ready to trade it in because it keeps happening.

Etc light came on. Replaced throttle body and performed idle relearn procedure. Light still comes on intermittently making it unsafe to drive

While going 65 mph, the electronic throttle control sensor light came on and the vehicle began to lose power.it felt as though the gas pedal was not working and the speed dropped to about 30mph.after restarting the veh. The problem would correct itself for awhile.but eventually that no longer worked, and i had a mechanic replace the gas pedal.this too did not correct the problem.so when we drive it, at any time, the power deaccelerates and the vehicle slows way down.it also seems like it is not shifting into overdrive and revs at a high rpm.

When trying to defrost thewindows you are jot able to see. Also when accerlarate the up under hood (enhine) jumps constantly on highway .

The instrument panel light that illuminates the speedometer and other gauges works randomly. Airbag warning light illuminates and the warning bell sounds at random times. Engine stalls when stopping and starting in wet weather.

The electric throttle light came on. Car loses power and then will only go 5miles p/hr. .very dangerous situation when you are on the freeway in busy traffic.

Traveling at 60 mph the etc light begins to flash and the vehicle will not accelerate, although rpms increase significantly.this happens many times going downhill.dealer was never able to repair.resets if car is restarted, but this is not safe traveling at 60mph on the highway in traffic.

Anytime is rains car seems to not be able to accelerate and wants to stall from a stop or low rpm's, especially at turns and stop signals and stop lights, had car looked at and was unable to fix problem.

As i approached a stop light and had to stop, the engine stalled, and i had to restart it from the ignition. It happened on three other occasions (once in a left turn at a stop sign).the steering problem is progressively aggravating to the point of loosing power assist when i make a left turn, and occasionally a right turn, also. It started as a small inconvenience, but at this point, if i am not very careful when i make a left turn, the car would go strait instead of turning.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring touring. I bought it used in june 2010. Starting in sep 2010 it started having issues, (i.e., engine shut off at low speed or when gas tank was at 1/4 tank, engine would act as if was going to stall when sitting at a stop sign/light then would lurch forward suddenly, and brake light kept coming on).i had the o2 sensors replaced, engine light went out for a couple weeks and came back on. Mechanic then changed wiring harness. This time light was out for about a month or 2 but now will not turn off even though the mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with either the sensors or the wiring harness. Now they suggest replacing the engine brain which at this time is financially impossible for me. I took the car to a chrysler dealer shop when the airbag light cam on and i told the guy about all the issues. He pulled up the history and informed me the car's former owner had same shut off issues at 16k miles and had a new engine installed at 20k miles. Car is having the same issues that should have been resolved with new engine being put in.i've also had to have the brakes replaced after owning the car less than a year.i'm afraid the car shutting off on me is going to get me killed as i've just nearly missed getting into 2 accidents when the engine has shut off on me.

The contact owned a 2007 chrysler sebring.when the contact stopped at the traffic light, the vehicle shut down.a few minutes later, the vehicle began to smoke under the hood and burn.the manufacturer took a report.they sent an investigator to the tow yard, but the contact has not yet received a response from the manufacturer concerning the outcome of the investigation.chrysler recently mailed her a recall notice for nhtsa campaign id number 07v473000 (engine and engine cooling system: radiator assembly).the vin was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 30,000.

Chrysler sebring (2007) stalls or lurches forwards, generally while the car is stopped.occurs a few times per month (~3) for several months.the car was taken to dealership, where problem was observed; however no fix was available from dealer.safety concern is that when the car lurches forwards it will hit a pedestrian crossing an intersection or hitthe car ahead of it.

Since we've owned the car its stalls out a few times a week and more likely when its raining, whenever u go to stop or sit it stalls out, the worst was we were at a yellow light and the car stalled in the intersection,i've been reading other complaints online and imnot the only one with this problem and the dealership has no clue how to fix the issue.

My 2007 sebring stalls only when raining.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact received a recall notice for the tire pressure measuring system.the dealer stated that the parts were unavailable and could take 6-8 weeks to repair the recall.there has been no failure to date.the current mileage was 14,000.

2007 chrysler sebring electronic throttle control light comes on and car cannot accelerate stalls almost to almost to a complete stop... Only turning off the car resets this light for who knows how long it just happens and is very dangerous...this problem needs to be addressed before somebody gets seriously hurt...

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle would stall intermittently when driving at various speeds or when accelerating from a complete stop.

2007 chrysler sebring touring. Consumer states engine fire and inspector found no indication of a manufacturing defect that caused or contributed to the incident. *tgw

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving 45 mph she smelled rubber burning and thought that it was coming from a truck stop. The contact continued to drive and noticed smoke.the vehicle was inspected to determine where the smoke was coming from when she reached her destination. She left her vehicle at a friends home and later received a call from a police officer stating that the vehicle was on fire. The police report indicated that the fire started in the engine. The vehicle was destroyed.a fire department report was filed. The approximate failure and current mileages were 57,000.

I have 2007 chrysler sebring that stalls on me while i am driving. Just last week i was yielding onto i95 and that car shut off, it almost cause a very serious accident. I have taken it to the dealer ship and they claim that there is nothing wrong with it. I know there is something wrong because i have read alot of consumer reviews on this car and alot of people have the same issue.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle began to lose acceleration power.occasionally, when the vehicle is placed into drive, the engine revs and the speedometer displays 50 mph.while driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle slowly gains speed until it reaches the speed indicated on the speedometer.occasionally, the speedometer will only read 40 mph; however, the contact feels that the vehicle is traveling much faster.shortly after the incident, the vehicle began operating normally.she scheduled an appointment with the dealer, but they have yet to inspect the vehicle.the current and failure mileages were 18,132.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving at various speeds. The vehicle operated as normal after restart.

Was reversing out of parking space and engine stalled. This is not the first occurrence. Have previously been driving on the road at 35 mph and the engine has stalled and the vehicle had to cruise to a shoulder for safety, needed to shut off the car and restart. The first time this happened 2011 i had owned the car for 6 months i was going approx 60mph on a highway and the engine shut off, the car electrical system was fine but the engine cut off. The dealer was unable to duplicate the situation and it has happened several times since. Last week the dealer replaced the battery because they were certain this was being caused by the battery but it is not! left the car with dealer again as i have a lifetime maintenance plan but if they cannot duplicate they wont fix - right now this vehicle is a hazard and danger to drive.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact received a safety recall notice for nhtsa campaign id number 07v473000 (engine and engine cooling:cooling system:radiator assembly) in may of 2008.after calling the dealer several times, the contact was informed that the part for the repair was unavailable and had to be ordered.she spoke with the general manager on june 18, 2008 and was informed that he would receive a callback.as of july 18, 2008, the contact has not received a call.the mileages were unknown.

Chrysler 2007 sebring 2.4 liter overheating due to the cooling recall had to get fixed but chrysler refuses to reimburse me because my vin wasn't on the list. However its a little odd to me that my car has the issue they had the recall on...awful company i will never buy another chrysler.

I had the 2007 chrysler sebring for seven months, and on 6/26/2008 the car caught on fire. Then i received a recall the following week on a tuesday but that was to late. Now the car was a total loss and i am out of a car. I just want someone to replace the car and let me cont to pay on it, so i will have a way to work and doctor appointments. Instead i still have the car on my credit and can not get another one. This was not my fault be they are treating me like i set the car on fire but it was due to the recall. My 6 year old son and i was in the car at the time but luckily we got out and was not hurt.

I just want you aware that i tried to complete safety recall g39-radiator fan for my new chrysler sebring.the dealer is having difficulty obtaining the part.i was told they are "limited" in the number of parts they can order, per week.nothing was resolved in completing this recall.

After approaching a traffic light the vehicle shut off and a large amount of smoke was coming from the engine. She observed that the engine compartment and the under side of the vehicle was on fire. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire after three attempts. The vehicle was towed. The dealer confirmed with the contact that there were no recalls related to her vin. The dealer instructed the tow truck company to bring the vehicle to them; however, the dealer later advised them to take the vehicle away since the damage was so massive. The dealer also stated that the contact would have to wait until monday to obtain a rental car. The dealer later informed the contact that they would not provide her with a rental car until an investigator inspected the vehicle. An investigator has not inspected the vehicle since the fire occurred. The failure and current mileages were 32,000.

My instrument panel has no background lights, they do t turn on at all. I took it into a local shop and they said all the fuse are good and they think it might be a modgular (battery) that needs to be replaced. I have seen a lot of other owners having this same issue with their sebring as well.

"takata recall "my car dashboardlights all went dead and all the fuses are good. Turn on car one eveningand dashboard wss not lit up. I cant see my speed or gas gage nothing on all dashboard.so i drove home 30 miles in the night not knowingir i was going toslow or fast.

Driving down the highway at night and dash light started flickering and then went off.i understand this is a common problem on this type of car.

To nhtsai just purchase a 2007 chrysler sabring.i took my daughter and myself out to dinner that evening and enjoyed our night as we got back in the car an start heading homejust as i got on the freeway i suddenly realize thatthe interiordashboard light went out and it isnot turning on . I was unable to see the speedthermometer. I pulled over and took a uber home. I thank god thatthe trafficon the highway was not happy or busy i was able to pull over to the side of the freeway and then i look at all the panels the button for the lights and no matter what i did interior like did not turn on. There was no accident caused by this because i was safe but it is unsafe for driving on the road not able to see the speed you're going. Can we please figure out how to get this taking care of that is dangerousto drive at night unable to see the speed when but they stream crossing you don't know how fast you're going to estimate when to press on your break.

We just bought a used car, this chrysler sebring, on 3/28/19. My daughter drove it home in the dark last night and said that there was no lighting in the instrument panel. After doing some research, i see that this often happens. Happens when vehicle is still and moving. I'm assuming this happened to the previous owners.

When turning on the headlights, the dash light (instrument cluster) will not come on right away.if/when the dash light does try to come on, it flickers and blinks.this is a hazard when driving at night as you cannot see your speed, gas limit or engine temperature.

Instrumental cluster dash lights is defective part.

Highway safetythere are millions of autos on the u.s. Highways (and around the world), with headlight lenses that are foggythat is, no longer clear.the result is that the light from the headlights is dispersed more widely and not focused forward, for the driver to see the road ahead.for drivers going in the opposite direction, it results in blinding them.all of this can contribute to increased traffic accidents and deaths.the auto manufacturers have been allowed to get away with this terrible car design far too long.they must be required to use materials for the headlight lenses, that will not pit and abrade over time, thus retaining the clarity of original manufacture.just look around at vehicles on the road.the process of deterioration begins when the vehicle hits the road for the first time.the plastic materials used gradually abrade due to wind, mud, salt, etc., etc.while there are processes that auto owners can use or have performed, to polish the lenses and reasonably restore the original clarity.few do it because they either dont recognize the problem or do not want to spend the time/money to correct it.if the government can require such safety items as seat belts and air bags, it can require better materials for headlight lenses and save lives.go back to glassthis condition did not develop with the old sealed-beam headlights.glass can be molded to any shape desired.the matter should have been addressed years ago.the nhtsa has been negligent in not doing something about this issue.dont wait!!while i cannot specify a specific date of an accident or vehicle related to this problem, i have entered below, in order to get this message delivered.as i said just look at cars in your parking lot, even you own vehicle (unless it is only a couple of years old) and you will see what i mean.

The fuel pump went on my car and when i brought it to the repair shop they stated that the wiring and connectors on it hadburned up, which caused a hole to be burned in the fuel pump line. I've read several other reports of this exact same thing happening and in some of those reports they stated that this was a fire hazard.i also had to purchase a new harness for the fuel pump since that was all screwed up as well.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and was towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the fuel pump was defective. The vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic, who discovered that the wires that were connected to the fuel pump were burned. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 138,000.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring. Recently within the last year the car would stall at stop lights and then later this weekwouldn't start. Towed to the shop once and the vehicle started for the shop and was unable to diagnose the problem. So i drove this car throughout the weekend and had no issues with it. Monday morning my wife goes to get in the car and it wouldn't start had to have the car towed back to the shop. This time problem never went away. My shop where i took the vehicle started looking into the problem and found out the fuel pump connector had melted causing the fuel pump to stop working. My concern is that melting wires and connectors right around a fuel source could cause a deadly fire all it needed was a spark for the car to ignite with a child in the back seat. I know many other people have had the same stalling issues and i feel this is something that possibly needs investigated before someone loses their lives for a faulty wiring issue with these cars.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact took her vehicle to the dealer for inspection and the pcm was replaced.immediately after the repair, while the windows were closed, she reported feeling uncomfortable; almost as if gasoline were leaking internally into the vehicle.she noticed that the fuel warning indicator was illuminated on the instrument panel.she took the vehicle back to the dealer and they replaced the fuel vessel and the o'ring.all of the remedies have been insufficient in repairing the failures.the failure mileage was 4,000 and current mileage was 7,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact was driving 55 mph when the vehicle stalled.the contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic where the mechanic noticed a faulty fuel pump connector that had melted from the sending unit.the mechanic replaced both the fuel pump and sending unit.the contact called the manufacturer but the manufacturer did not provide any assistance.the failure mileage was 78,229.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle ran out of fuel while driving 60 mph, from one quarter of a tank.the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 09v047000 (fuel system, other:storage:fuel gauge system); and stated that his vehicle was diagnosed by a local mechanic as having the same failures, but the vehicle was not included in the recall.the manufacturer was contacted and the dealer was not contacted.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure and current mileage was 148,643.

The incident:during fill up at gas station, automatic shut off of the gas pump occurred when tank was full.however, gas overflowed from underneath fill location (above wheel well) and leaked all over ground.this has been happening since the car had 80,000 on the odometer.i have tried different ways of pumping gas into car, all with same result of overflow.this seems to be a common problem.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. The failure occurred on several occasions. The contact also stated that there was a burning odor coming from under the hood. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the battery, wires, fuel filter, spark plugs and the ignition switch were replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, who diagnosed that the wires caught on fire and the fuel pump was damaged. As a result, the fuel pump was replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,919.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving approximately 30 mph the engine stalled without warning. The engine restarted and the failure occurred continually while driving. The contact stated the fuel pump electrical connector and the fuel pump body melted. The diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

Fuel pump connector melted though at the gas station after a fill up. The car started but immediately stopped. Failed to start after that. After a tow the rear seat was removed and the fuel pump connector removed. The connector when removed still contained the pin that should have been molded into the fuel pump. Fuel rushed out of the connector, felt very lucky it was gas and not fumes. If the tank had not be full a fire would have been inevitable based on the melted black plastic on the fuel pump.

Gas burbs out while filling, and turns off the pump. Gas all over my hand and on the ground. This happens at the gas station while filling.

I had been experiencing stalling problems and after ruling out other potential causes, i discovered that the electrical plug connecting on top of the fuel pump was shorted out causing a large hole burned into the sealed plastic top of the pump, when the connection was pulled from it contacts i discovered that it was saturated with fuel.i contacted a mechanic and he stated that this was caused by the fuel pump drawing to many amps therefore causing the small connectors to melt down because of the heat, he advised that this has happened in several sebrings as well as dodge caliber models, at this time chrysler has no recall and the only way to fix this issue is to purchase and install a new fuel pump at a price of nearly 700.00 dollars. The mechanic stated that in time the fuel would have ignited due to the open electrical circuit.

When filling tank, after gas pump clicks off, and nozzle is removed, the gas in the tank churns violently up, and out, like a whirlwind, covering me, and the ground with gas. This happens even if i don't 'fill'. Dealer charged me $444.00 to supposedly 'fix' by replacing the charcoal filter, etc., but fix didn't work, and same thing happened next fill. Now waiting for part to come in and whole tank to be replaced...

When trying to defrost thewindows you are jot able to see. Also when accerlarate the up under hood (enhine) jumps constantly on highway .

Gas gauge stopped working.according to dealer mechanic, fuel gage sending unit is not working....fuel pump does work. Dashboard lights no longer work also. Check engine light stays on and cannot be cleared or problem diagnosed.

Anytime i get gas, the auto shut off is delayed and my gas tank gets overfilled which results in gasoline flying out of the gas tank and squirting everywhere. This happens every single time i get gas, even if i try to control the gas flow to be very slow.

Takata recalli bought this car on 4/1/2019. On 4/11/2019 my car completely broke down on the freeway. There was a messaging saying hot oil. The engine stopped working and it said problems with tpm system. I had to get my car towed to the car mechanic because it wouldn't start at all.

Anytime is rains car seems to not be able to accelerate and wants to stall from a stop or low rpm's, especially at turns and stop signals and stop lights, had car looked at and was unable to fix problem.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While operating the vehicle in wet and humid conditions, the electronic throttle indicator would illuminate and the vehicle's speed would suddenly reduce to approximately 20 mph. In addition, the brakes and power steering malfunctioned. In addition, the engine would erroneously rev very high and the accelerator pedal would lose tension and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to several unknown local dealers, but the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. Furthermore, when refueling in colder weather conditions, the fuel would spray out of the filler hole. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,000.

My fuel gauge stopped working then my sensor for fuel monitoring came up on obd2 reader so i dropped fuel tank and pulled pump and one of the diodes for the wiring harness had burn up in the fuel tank luckily it did not ignite so i have my wife and car still

I was told it's electrical problem and the car doesn't go over 20 miles and it says that it's the intake also says it's the muffler and sensors and other things which i have had check and it neither.and sometimes it pushes back or is stalls and just turns off in the middle of the intersection.

When fueling gas comes spraying out when full.

Each time i fill up my fuel tank, it smells like gas on the driver's side of the car. The check engine light came on so i took it to a local auto parts store who diagnosed it as "gascap". I had the gas cap replaced but it still smells like gas, the odor is strongest when the tank is full. I did some online research and discovered that hundreds of other people are having this same issue. I have great concern for my safety. Please help!

Http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2004/chrysler/sebring/latches_locks_linkages/problem.aspxi also want to report that the chrome metal on my 2007 sebring severely cut my hand like grabbing razor blades. Cut down to the bone. This comes off interior door handles. The above link has another exact complain.

I went to the store in my 2007 chrysler sebring, and park the car on a level parking lot, when i came out of the store, the car was stuck in the park position and i could not move it. I searched on-line only to find out that this is a common problem.

My 2007 chyrsler sebring is stuck at work in park! it wont come undone. Did everything i thought would trigger it. Brake bulbs, tire lock, gas cap etc etc. So my car is sitting in my work garage until i find out how to fix it.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle slipped out of gear. The contact mentioned that the vehicle went from drive to the lower gear and the check engine warning light illuminated. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

Horn stopped working and airbag light is on. It stop working while i tried pressing on the horn while driving.

2007 chrysler sebring, this has been an ongoing problem that has resulted in numerous trips to the mechanic. I have a constant vibration while driving the vehicle from speeds around 50-70+ mph. Whatever the vibration is can be felt throughout the passenger compartment as if your sitting in a massage chair. This problem is also causing the brake rotors to warp and fail (safety safety) issue. I am on my fourth set of rotors, third set of brake pads, and third set of tires. In addition i have replaced the hub bearings as well. All by the recommendation of various mechanics. I am afraid that since most of my time in my vehicle is on the interstate that i will have a complete failure at high speeds. The chrysler dealer doesn't care about the issue they only want you to keep coming back paying the outrageous labor rates. One repair shop all but told me to stop coming. This vehicle has a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed by chrysler. This problem is on going and i have to deal with it everyday, cause no one can fix it. When the rotors warp the vehicle is hard to control while braking.

My wife drives a 2007 chrysler sebring and on may 25th 2010 when she got in her car to go home from work, she was unable to shift the car out of park. She immediately called me and i looked for information on the web and discovered this was sort of a common problem for chrysler and it was due to a faulty or defective 'shift interlock control system'. On several forums i saw that several sebrings, pt cruisers, and chrysler 300s have had the same or similar issues. We called our local chrysler/dodge dealership, landmark chrysler dodger in morrow, ga and the service center informed us that they see this issue "all the time" and it not only affects the vehicles mentioned above, but it also includes dodge chargers as well. The went on to state that it would cost us approximately $350 to fix the issue. There is no way to disable the system and circuvent the cost of repair, our only option is to pay to have it fixed .

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring automatic 4 cylinder. When driving the car intends to stutter somewhat. Especially in the rain. But whenever it accelerates at low speeds it would jump or hesitate like it wants to stall, i dont know if it could be the fuel type. I talked it over with the dealership they said it could be anything. I havent gotten it checked out yet because their going to charge me and if they cant figure the problem out. Then i wont be able to get my money back. Plus when going up a hill at a steady pace and at usual it would normally decrease in speed, i would have to smash on the pedal to just kick it in the next gear.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring and the gear shifter stopped working. (shift assembly) the shifter will no longer shift out of park by just pressing the break. Wetried to reset it but it would not work and also tried other options in the car manual and they didn't work. We took the cover off and tried to find the problem we found that theonly way to move into gear is by pressing down the pink button on the left hand side in the downward position while pressing the break and it will go in and out of gear. Went to the dodge dealership and they said this is not the first time they have seen this problem in this year model and make. The issue is about $300 to fix, we had this vehicle for less than a year before it happened and the car itself is in great condition. The issue is the shift assemblywe have yet to get it fixed because the car was new and is obviously a defect from the manufacturer. The car showed no signs of anything wrong before it happened just went to start it and wouldn't move from the park position.

I went to start up my car for the first time that day and when i tried to put the car in drive the shifter would not shift. At first i thought it was because the e brake was on but once that was removed the shifter still would not go past the "p" icon. I tried pushing the rear of the car to jar it loose, to no effect. The previous day the car drove fine and i had no issues. I eventually had to call a tow truck to pick the car up and take it to a repair shop. They told me that they would have to replace the entire shifter and it cost me $275. I bought the car this year with under 50,000 miles on it. I haven't had any other problem with the car until now. The repair shop replaced the shifter with the exact same shifter from the chrysler corp. I now find myself wondering if the same thing will happen again?

Ecm failure, electronic throttle failure and the catalytic converter having issuses.

Chrysler-sebring 2007,( 2.4 ) car stuck in park, unable to drive it. This happened on my job. I hadto get it towed. I'm happy i was in a safe place. This is very serious, i could have been in an unsafe place and it could have happened at nite. This should be a recall, my friend has this same exact car and it happened to her, i would like chrysler to repay the money that i must pay to get it repaired.

Car stalled for second time while in park.first at 34000 mi then again at 69000 mi. Have read all the blogs... To take apart console and perform surgery is ridiculous!

2007 chrysler sebring touring was stuck in park and would not allow me to shift into reverse, drive, neutral. Had to remove the chrome housing around the shifter and there is a little pink lever looking thing that i had to press backwards to allow the shifter to come free and go back into reverse or any gear. Vehicle this is a v-6 2.7 engine.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The vehicle was previously repaired for an unknown recall in which the vehicle would not shift out of park. Approximately 3 months later, the failure occurred again. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed. The failure and current mileages were 37,500.

I have had my vehicle in for service on two different occasions for the same problem, the check engine light won't go off and now my vehicle will not engage out of park.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact noticed that the rpm's would sporadically increase and decrease while traveling 40 mph.secondly, the vehicle would not decelerate when driving highway speeds.he either has to continually apply pressure to the brake pedal in order to slow the vehicle down or place the vehicle into neutral.a technician stated that the torque converter would not decelerate.the failure mileage was 19,000 and current mileage was 27,000. Updated 09/15/08when the consumer removed his foot from the accelerator, the vehicle would not slow down.the dealer stated it sounded as if the torque converter was not disengaging. The dealer told the consumer it was a design issue. Updated 09/17/08.

Takata recall my etc light flashes and you cant accelerate the only way to get it to go off is turn car off then back on .i've put new throttle bodyand ecm on it but still have the problem. Help if you have any advice

On september 8, 2010, i was getting into my car on my way to work when i could not get the automatic stick out of park (out of gear).i just purchase my 2007 chrysler sebring on june 29, 2010 at a dealership in my home state, and is the first time i have encountered this type of problem with the vehicle.prior issues i have experienced since purchasing the vehicle on june 29 is the multifunction (emission) and airbag sensors coming on.a brake sensor has been coming on and off.both the multifunction and airbag sensors fixed on august 28, 2010.i was informed by the chrysler mechanic shop that the brake sensor is okay.now, i have new problem with the vehicle.the vehicle will have to be towed to a chrysler dealer for repair.i have missed a day from work because of this issue.

I had been driving the vehicle all day.i later went to run an errand and the car would not let me get out of park.it was completely jammed.for absolutely no reason.it was very frustrating as i was headed to an important doctor's appointment.had to aaa tow the vehicle.very disappointing as this vehicle let me sit.currently being repaired and public transportation will be needed to get to work.

Engine is stalling once car is cranked. When pressing the brakes to put car in reverse or drive, the car cuts off. Once able to get into drive and try to drive, the car's brakes can not be touched or the car will stop instantly. The car also does stop and go driving like it's pulling on something heavy.

2007 chrysler sebring would not shift out of park, with only 30,000 miles on the car this happened, the shifter was replaced.

I left work and my 2007 chrysler sebring would not shift out of park (it's an automatic).i eventually had to have my car towed for a total of 280.i learned that an internalspringand another part inside of the shifter had broken. Based on what i read, it seems to be a common problem with the later model sebrings.

Letter from senator brown on behalf of constituent regarding issues with his 2007 chrysler sebring )dot/i#2010-1253-respond to cleveland, oh office *tgwthe consumer stated he was unable to shift the gear out of park. The abs light illuminated and stayed on and the brakes would not work until the vehicle was driven about a block. He had to drive very slow until the brakes engaged.

My 2007 chrysler sebring "stuck" in park. I have 48847 miles on my sebring and have not had a problem with it. On aug.13 i pulled into my garage and parked. The next day i got into my car and it would not shift out of park. I checked the manual and it gave an "over-ride" procedure. This procedure does not work. I called chrysler on the 15th and asked how to engage the over-ride. They gave me the same procedure. On the 16th i had a tow truck come to my house to tow my car to the dealership. He showed me an entirely different over-ride that was shown to him, by chrysler. But chrysler does not pass on to the consumer. It worked and i was able to drive my car to the dealership. Before i took my car to the dealership i contacted chrysler and got a case manager assigned to me. The case manager worked with the dealership and got my car repaired for a $50.00 co-payment. Chrysler knows there is a problem with 2007 & 2008 sebrings i would like to see chrysler send a new over-ride procedure to all owners of vehicles that could have this problem and issue a recall. I was lucky it happened in my garage, but several others might not be as lucky where this failure happens, without the correct knowledge on how to over-ride the system.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the brake warning light would illuminate periodically. She was also unable to shift to any gear due to transmission failure. The vehicle had not been inspected nor repaired at the time of the complaint. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and the transmission was repaired. She had not spoken with the manufacturer to-date. The current mileage was approximately 46,500. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

2008 chrysler sebring electronic throttle controller while drive failed...

There were no actual events leading up to the problem.the car is a 2007 model chrysler sebring sedan with a 2.4l, 4 cylinder engine. The car has 36,505 miles on it.the car was acting perfectly normal up until i went to start it.once i started it, i could not get it out of park.i called and had it towed to the dealership who stated that the entire "shifter" had to be replaced.the car was 505 miles past the manufacturer warranty, so i had to pay a deductible on my extended warranty.i have not received the car back yet, but i will be asking for the old parts back.

2007 chrysler sebring: could not shift from park to reverse etc. Car had to be towed.the car only has 28,000 miles. It is currently at a repair shop.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the gear shift selector became stuck in park. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised that the shift assembler would need to be replaced. The manufacturer would not provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact statedthe gear shift selector would not move from the park position. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the dealer was replacing the gear shift selector assembly housing unit. The manufacturer offered to take the liability for partial repairs but the contact was responsible for the cost of labor. The contact was awaiting repairs. The failure and current mileages were approximately 63,000.

The front passenger seatbelts releases when any pressure, even very little at all, is put on it and happens continuously. It won't stay latched even with minor movements of passenger. Happens whether car is running and driving or sitting stationary at home.

The seatbelt unlatched while driving. It has happened a couple times and it is scary to think this could happen during an accident.

While driving noticed the back of the drivers seat was getting very hot.found a burn hole in back of seat about 3/8th of an inch. I was using the heated seats at the time.

The air bag light for passage seat do not go off when starting vehicle.

My 2007 chrysler sebring (38000 miles) had a complete burn through on the fabric of the front drivers seat while the heated seat function was turned on. The burn through was about 12 inches long on the vertical back part of the seat. This could have burned me or (shocked me?). Shouldn't there have been a fuse that would have blown or some other safety feature to keep this heating element from continuing to burn through? i called my local chrysler dealership and since my warranty ran out in april, they wouldn't even look at the car unless i gave them $89.00. This incident happened on 12/23/10. This whole burn through on the seat happened while the car was turned off!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the driver's side seat warmer overheated and caused hole to burn through the seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 65,000.

Takata recall i am driving down highway at 70 mph and car just shuts off no warning cant steer it and brakes dont work could of killed me and the kids

I was going park under my carport and the car would not stop, i kept pressing the brakes down as hard as i could but the car kept moving until i pulled the emergency brake almost went into my house. Another incident where i was crossing the thruway and the car stalled in the middle of the intersection with cars coming, close to getting hit by multiple cars, other incidents where the car kills while under the red light, have to restart it.

Our car air bag light / sensor goes on for no apparent reason.our brake light / sensor goes on for no apparent reasonboth items happen when car is in operation

I purchased a new 2007 chrysler sebring from a local dealership on may 30, 2007.on july 25, 2007 i was driving my vehicle and it was shaking when i applied my brakes.i immediately returned the car to my dealership and they had to resurface both rotors and resurfaced both rear drums.the mileage was 4108.in november 15, 2007 i returned my vehicle to the dealership due to brake light coming on when coming down any hill.vibration was also noted at this time.dealer checked and stated they could not find a problem.on march 24, 2008 i was coming off a hill from my job site when my brake light came on the car was making a grinding sound and i was unable to stop at the light in the intersection due to brake failure.the dealership did a road test and advised that the brakes were pulsating when hot.pulled brakes and had to replace brake pads and rotors due to deterioration.on june 9, 2008 while driving the interstate my car began to shake when i would apply the brakes.while exiting from the freeway i was unable to stop at the intersection.the brakes were making a grinding sound and did not allow me to stop at the stop sign in the intersection.once again i had no brakes.i returned the car to my dealership immediately and they checked the brakes.they advised me that they needed to resurface the rotors that were replaced by them in march 2008.this vehicle is a safety hazard and i fear that myself or my children are going to be involved in an accident where we will either be seriously injured or killed.my son who is disabled would have difficulty surviving any type of impact crash.

My 2007 chrysler sebring caught on fire. Smoke was coming from the dashboard and steering area. The abs light came on after the smoke. (ps there were no physical injuries, but mentally it's frightening, we're terrified to get back into that car! mentally 2 persons were injured.

When braking moderately, the front wheels shimmy and cause the steering wheel to vibrate so badly that you can not hold on to it. Could cause loss of control and an accident. It does not happen when braking lightly or hard unless you had already been braking moderately. Took vehicle to dealer and was told it was caused by warped rotors and since this was a component of the brake system, it was only covered by warranty for 12 months/12,000 miles. The vehicle had been in service for 17 months and had 19,000 miles on it. This could be a real safety hazard. I would think the warranty would cover the rotors, calipers, and brake lines but not the disk pads or shoes. Rotors should not warp in 17 months or 19,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated while having the vehicle serviced by an independent mechanic, she was informed that the brakes, rotors, and calipers all needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure had since recurred every two months. The vehicle will be taken back to the repair shop where the brakes, rotors, and calipers would be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that on numerous occasions, the brakes would fail.the dealer made repairs to the brakes but to no avail. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 45,000 and the current mileage was 75,000.

When driving in the rain and going through puddles of water the steering will go out. Within minutes the battery light will come on. I doubt it is my battery because it is only a year old. The only way i am able to gain the power steering back is by pulling over turning vehicle off and restart. This has been very dangerous at times because it has happened a few times when i actually turning in a curve or a parking spot. I have almost wrecked numerous times scaring me and my teenage boys.

Takata recall i am driving down highway at 70 mph and car just shuts off no warning cant steer it and brakes dont work could of killed me and the kids

Love my chrysler cars, yes, i have two.the stem valves/sensors have been breaking off of our 2007 model sebring.just wanted to note this in the database.had second stem valve/sensor break this week of november 9th, 2014 and while it was getting fixed, i had the car repair shop check tire pressure on the other tires and another stem valve/sensor snapped off.these are not cheap to fix.that's three so far, two within days of each other.i plan on getting the last stem valve/sensor replaced soon as when this happens, you have only feet before your tire is completely out of air.hoping chrysler will possibly repair with better parts or change in how they're made.i believe this has already happened but just recently.would love to be reimbursed for these parts but i'm not holding my breath.thank you.

Fax from congressman following up on a july 2010 letter on behalf of constituent re chrysler recalls (2007 chrysler sebring)-respond to birmingham, al office.the consumer stated there were six recalls related to the vehicle. However, when he contacted the manufacturer, he was informed the recalls did not apply to his vehicle identification number.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the cup holder was supposed to come with a specially designed cup.the contact went to the dealer to inquire about the cup and was informed that the cup was never put into production.the contact stated that the cup holder's temperature goes up to 140 degrees.the contact is unsure of what type of cup can be used in the cup holder without damaging the vehicle.there was no failure.the current mileage was 2,900.

Takata recall my etc light flashes and you cant accelerate the only way to get it to go off is turn car off then back on .i've put new throttle bodyand ecm on it but still have the problem. Help if you have any advice

Shifter had to be replaced within two years, this is the second shifter. Stuck in park

I was unable to see the speedthermometer. I pulled over and took a uber home. Unable to see what speedi'm going.i cannot drive please help to have this partfixed repair or replacethe instigatecluster (interior lights) all other interior lights like the radio heater/ac panel lights works. The 2007 chrysler sebring touring car was listed in the consumer magazines as having a steering and driving feel issue.it tends to make you over correctleft and right. It is very hard to drive and is dangerous to drive on slippery, rain, wet, light snow surfaces.on dry surfaces there is alreadythe issue of trying to go straight without overcorrecting .there a lack of road feel and plenty of body roll like a 1970 or 1980mercedes .i owna 2007 2.7 touring6 cylinder chrysler sebring now for 4 years and i have had the same issues from the first day i bought it new.the dealers say they can not find anything wrong with it.why in 2007 the consumer magazine who tested the carswrote it up as having a bad steering feelthat they were uncomfortable with, and they were expert drivers.you can not controlthis car under safely under normal to light rain and light snow driving conditions.you have to slow down under the highway driving speed of 45mph,which can get you a ticket, on intersection speed of 55-60 mph.i have been driving for over 40 years with a very good driving record.i am surprisedthat a car like this would be sold to the public using old or outdated technology just for a profit no matter who gets hurt.when the transmission would not come out of park i was sent a recall from chrysler and they fixed no fee.i have had wiring issues bulbs blowing and speedometer lights out so you can not see at night.trouble with fuses and modules to be replaced.i had to at least notifysomeone on this website .i wasn't aware of this site and i am gladthatyou guys do the good work that you are doing.

My car stalls when i am stopped at a red light. No lights or warnings, just stalls.

Chrysler issued a recall bulletin on aug 30, 2010 "k16 a/t shift interlock lever spring"- the transmission gear shift lever interlock spring retainer hook may break resulting in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of the "park" position.although they replaced the shifter lock spring on my vehicle on sept 2011, this replaced spring is still fragile and does not address this defect resulting in the replaced part being damaged again in 2020.requesting nhtsa to re-request chrysler to repair this spring for vehicles that were repaired but are now re-affected again due to lack of duality of the replacement part.

It's stops while driving, but the radio still is playing during the many times this had happened . On both city street and turning corners.

Heater only blows hot on drivers side. All actuators are functioning. No heat coming through passenger side defrost is dangerous in cold weather. Happens while driving or sitting still.

Transmission locked in park and dashboard said neutral. Chrysler stated i need a shifter and shifter cable. Parts and labor totals $698. This is dangerous and seems to be common with chrysler vehicles. Should be recall. When parking my vehicle.

The door lock . The piece that pop's up and down . If you have the window down and got your resting on the door when you start down the road and the doors lock automatically the piece that moves up and down when it goes down it will pinch your skin bad as it trys to pull your skin down in the hole. On both sides of the front doors. Bad enough to bring your skin. It really hurts. I have never had a car to do that. Its not just me other people have drove the car and says the same thing. After a few hundred times i remember to watch for it. I have tried everythingto get it not to do that. The only way i see is cut the piece off but that would be unsafe. I don't think the piece comes off in a easy way.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the engine stalled with the illumination of the electronic throttle control warning indicator. The vehicle restarted and resumed as normal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer two times and they were unable to locate the problem. The identical failure recurred nine times. In addition, the alternator was replaced three times. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The dash lights started blinking like a strobe light now they will just be off completely and randomly come back on. When they are off at night i cannot see my speed gas or temp.

Takata recall i am driving down highway at 70 mph and car just shuts off no warning cant steer it and brakes dont work could of killed me and the kids

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact attempted to release the trunk of the vehicle, but there was a malfunction with the trunk release mechanism.she then attempted to use the keyless device to open the trunk, but it also failed to operate.within two to three minutes, the vehicle began to move.there were no occupants in the vehicle.the driver side door was ajar and was dragged 10 to 15 feet.the vehicle continued to drift and crashed into the porch of a nearby residence.the porch steps were damaged.a police report was filed.the insurance company towed the vehicle and the cause of the failure has not yet been determined.the current and failure mileages were 28,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the engine stalled. The contact mentioned that there was a leak of anti freeze coolant fluid and the cruise control had become inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the problem recurred. The vin was not available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

When my car is cruising less than 20 miles per hour the electronic throttle control light flashes on and off and it's hard for the car to pick up speed. I have to pull over cut the car off and cut it back on.

I have had my vehicle in for service on two different occasions for the same problem, the check engine light won't go off and now my vehicle will not engage out of park.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring.the contact stated that the vehicle would stall sporadically with the illumination ofthe electronic throttle control warning light.the dealer performed a diagnostic on the vehicle but was unable to determine the cause of failure.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 50,200.

The car runs find most of the time.but sometimes, while you are driving, the accelerator will lose power and regardless of how much pressure you apply, the car will not go forward.it doesn't happen all of the time. I have taken the car to a chyrsler dealership three times and they have been unable to fix it.

Car will shut off when decelerating and mph is below 15.also will lunge forward sometimes during acceleration and has stalled at times.been to dealership twice and they said they could not find anything the first time, second time they ran a "software upgrade".

The electric throttle light came on. Car loses power and then will only go 5miles p/hr. .very dangerous situation when you are on the freeway in busy traffic.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. In addition, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning light illuminated. The failure occurred constantly. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the electronic throttle control and malfunction indicator warning lights remained illuminated. The dealer performed unknown repairs. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

While driving at highway speed, etc starting flashing check engine light came on, instant lost of power. Car jerking, rpm's up and down.

I came up to the stop sign and the electronic throttle control light came on. I turned and tried to get to speed but could only get to 35mph. I turned around and went back home. Went to a private repair shop on monday, but he said if it is running ok, not to do anything. Again it happened on 3/16/14 as i was going about 60mph. The light came on and i could not generate any more speed. I pulled into a store and turned off the car. I waited about 5 minutes and it started and no light. Been driving fine again. But what happens when i pull out to pass someone and the light comes on and i have no power to pass that car.

I bought my 2007 chrysler sebring back in october 2007 and have had it ever since. However, after the first year , i started having problem with the electronic throttle control light which will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and restart. The electronic throttle control light always come on when i am in heavy highway traffic of when i am driving in the city . When electronic throttle control light is on you cannot break to stop the car, or speed up. It make you loose control of the whole car increasing the potentiality of accident if you was driving at any speed above 25 mph.therefore when i drive i always make sure i am close to the curb. I went to chrysler dealerships, but they do not know what is going on with the car or could cause that failure, `and have no idea how to fix it.i do not know if this problem is related to the power train. Many other owners of 2007 chrysler sebring have had the same problem. This problem happened to me already more than 30 times, luckily i am a good driver, and with luck i was able to handle the car. I went to pennsylvania this weekend and almost did not make it home. Also last night it happened to me twice at 12 am right at the exit of 295 while there was cars behind me and i almost got into an accidents.

While traveling in virginia on int.64 the electronic throttle control warning light came on and the car lost power. I turned the car off waited a minute and the car was fine. This has happened three times in the past. Dealer claimed it was fixed and it keeps happening periodically. Normally on trips.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact started the ignition and the electronic throttle control warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel permanently until the engine was turned off. Also, whenever driving the vehicle would not accelerate over 25 mph. The vehicle was currently being diagnosed at an authorized dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the problem and they informed there was not a recall related to the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

Traveling at 60 mph the etc light begins to flash and the vehicle will not accelerate, although rpms increase significantly.this happens many times going downhill.dealer was never able to repair.resets if car is restarted, but this is not safe traveling at 60mph on the highway in traffic.

Anytime is rains car seems to not be able to accelerate and wants to stall from a stop or low rpm's, especially at turns and stop signals and stop lights, had car looked at and was unable to fix problem.

While driving down the highway i lost power to my car. It wouldn't go faster than 25-30 mph even when i floored it. The electronic throttle control light starts blinking on the dash. Happened a couple times, about 5-6 months apart, and i found out that if i turned my car off and restarted itwould run just fine again. Recently began happening whenever i drive for more than about an hour, really dangerous when it happens on the interstate. Took it to a mechanic when it first happened and they said that the computer never registered anything and they can't tell what is wrong with it unless it is happening when i bring it in. Never happens when i'm near a repair shop though. Looked it up online and apparently plenty of other people are having the same problem. Fed up with it.

I have a 2007 chrysler sebring and 1 week i have had the car for over two years and fear for my safety and others. Since i've bought the car i have experienced the following problems. When car is at red light the car jumps forward without putting foot on gas. Car has stalled out in intersections. Car begins by feeling like it is going to stall out then it will surge forward while at a complete stop with foot depressed on brake. Today at an intersection car at red light with foot on brake and car began to roll back while foot depressed on brake. Car has been taken to dealer and has chrysler has been contacted without help.

I was told it's electrical problem and the car doesn't go over 20 miles and it says that it's the intake also says it's the muffler and sensors and other things which i have had check and it neither.and sometimes it pushes back or is stalls and just turns off in the middle of the intersection.

2007 chrysler sebring electronic throttle control light comes on and car cannot accelerate stalls almost to almost to a complete stop... Only turning off the car resets this light for who knows how long it just happens and is very dangerous...this problem needs to be addressed before somebody gets seriously hurt...

I was driving when my hood pop right up and it has been the second time. Also my cruise control doesn't work and some light inside don't turn on or my mirrors.

I drive a 2007 chry. Sebring touring edition, the air bag light keeps coming on, cruise control does not work, and everytime it rains, the entire passengers side inside the veh gets really wet.

2007 chrysler sebring sedan customer states that the car started smoking and was taken to the dealership and the car caught on fire in front of the dealership**ccthe consumer the tires and the cruise control switch were replaced.the brakes were not grabbing and the pedal would go to the floor. The cd player would not eject the cd's. The cooling fan caught on fire.

Rear window is full of dots about 1 1/2to2 inches in diameter. Looks like a default in the glass or the tint. We have tried washing both inside and out side of the window but it has no effect. This started about 3 years ago and has just been getting worst. It is so bad now you can not see out the back window using the rear view mirror.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. While driving 40 mph, the wipers and headlights became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vin was excluded from any recalls. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 181,080.

The wipers will come on at any time. Very startling when car is moving. This has happened at least 75 times since we bought it in 2008. Our mechanic (who is reputable and does quality work) has been unsuccessful several times trying to pin point the problem.

When trying to defrost thewindows you are jot able to see. Also when accerlarate the up under hood (enhine) jumps constantly on highway .

I purchased a 2007 chrysler sebring in november of 2007. On the way home i encountered issues with the heating and defrosting system and subsequently received a recall on this issue. Several months after the purchase of the vehicle i began to experience problems with the engine stalling upon coming to a normal stop or sudden stop with the engine stalling without notice. I have taken the car to the dealer numerous times and they continually tell me they can not find anything wrong with the car and the computer indicates no faults or error codes. The stalling has occurred at least 20-30 times since i purchased the vehicle. This tuesday the 19th of october, it stalled yet again and had to be towed off the freeway on a rainy day during rush hours. I took the car back to the dealer that day and again they checked it and said nothing registered on the computer. I advised them of the obvious safety hazard with the car stalling and they agree but still indicate there is nothing they can do because nothing registers on the computer and they are not able to duplicate the problem. I do not feel safe driving this car nor allowing my daughter to drive it, it stalled on her on the freeway, and the chrysler dealer i have been taking it to does not appear to be interested in doing much about it even to a point about making it difficult to obtain a rental while the car is in service. I have also contacted chrysler and they have given me a case number to investigate the issue.

Windows fogging, maple syrup smell when heater is on, engine coolant draining inside cabin.heater core replacement.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that the heating ventilating module was inoperative, similar to nhtsa campaign id number: 06v49400 (visibility:defroster/defogger system). The dealer was notified who informed the contact that her vehicle was not included in the previous recall. The contact did not inform the manufacture. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 20,962. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Takata recalli bought this car on 4/1/2019. On 4/11/2019 my car completely broke down on the freeway. There was a messaging saying hot oil. The engine stopped working and it said problems with tpm system. I had to get my car towed to the car mechanic because it wouldn't start at all.
