The contact owned a 2006 chrysler sebring sedan. While driving 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the brakes failed to respond. The vehicle accelerated independently and the steering wheel failed to turn left or right. The failure occurred without warning. The contact could not stop the vehicle and crashed into the preceding vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and later impounded. The contact sustained a neck injury, internal stomach injury, and a migraine headache due to hitting the head on the steering wheel. Medical attention was required. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer stated that there were no open recalls. The failure mileage was 177,000.

The horn goes off by itself and continued to sound until the fuse was pulled. The fuse is connected to the air bag and the air bag will not deploy now that the fuse is out. The cost of repair is over $1000.00. A quick search on the internet shows many complaints of the same issue. The horn being connected to the air bag in which the horn is defective making the air bag useless. This is not a result of wear on the car and is a result of a defective switch connected to the air bag. Chrysler refuses to recognize the issue.

Back in january, my horn in my 2006 sebring started blowing between 9 & 11 pm for some unknown reason. It lasted for about 40 seconds. I did think much of it at the time, but it started happening nightly. Practically every night the horns will blow for about 40 to 60 seconds. It seems to happen whenever there is a temperature drop outside. But now it will going off sometimes when i start the car and sometime while i am driving down the road. I have to hit the horn to stop it while driving to get it to stop. Other drivers and pedestrians seem to panic when it goes off because it is scares the hell of you when it goes off and there doesn't seem to be any danger in the area. My neighbors are getting a little annoyed with horn going off at night. It even when off at work while parked in the parking lot during the day. Chrysler needs to address this issue, because from what i have researched on this matter shows that this is a common problem with many sebring owners. Many of them do not even know that they can report this and most likely are footing the $1000 price tag for the defect.

2006 chrysler sebring, horn randomly goes off either while vehicle engine is on or off....i took out the horn fuse and now have been driving unsafely without horn and apparently airbags. This vehicle has been in a few accidents and the air bags never went off.this needs to be recalled, there are many people with this problem, and not only are we driving around without a horn, but also no airbags. If i or anyone else gets injured in my car due to this matter there will be a lawsuit against chrysler, and i am not the suing type, but i purchased this vehicle brand new and should have the ability to be safe and due to this issue, i cannot. What does it take for a recall....serious injury or death?

I am joining the many other owners who's horns go off, with out warning car off or car on.at the same time the horn now seems to have stopped working entirely leaving me no way to warn other drivers that do not see me.i can confirm the costive a repair is on the $1100 range and my local chrysler reports they do this repair 4 times per week, nationwide.this repair is out of my budget and i think chrysler needs to recall and repair these vehicles.the horn has gone off in stationary, motion, on a city street and highway and turning.even with the engine shut off in the wee hours of the morning.below you ask when did this happen?at least 20 times.the horn switch indeed includes the air bags.no way to test them but i fear they are not working as this switch is bad.i hope i don't find out the hard way.

I have a 2006 chrysler sebring sedan. Over the past week the horn malfunctions where it will blare for 30-40 seconds while it is parked and untouched. This also happened while driving and i had to punch the steering wheel a couple times for it to stop. I had to pull out the fuse today. Why chrysler doesn't recall this is beyond me. It is dangerous and can cause an accident.

Horn goes off intermittently in cold weather. The first time it happened was at aprox 3am and again at 6am. I've had to start pulling the fuse every night. It will also randomly go off while driving. Not only is it humiliating but it is dangerous. I was shocked and very disappointed to find all the complaints on line but when i called chrysler they had received none. People, nothing can be addressed if you don't complain to the source. Please everyone with this issue call you chrysler canada or us and make a formal complaint so this issue can be properly addressed. I have yet to have the issue diagnosed because it has to be a cold day and the few times i've made appointments it has warmed up in between.

The contact owns a 2006 chrysler sebring sedan. While driving 11 mph, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Vehicle's horn blows at different times, ie...when turn signal is on, when it is cold outside and when nobody is in the car, usually in the early morning.

About 4:30 pm (rush hour) on 20 october 2015 i was driving south on i-95 south of washington dc when the horn sounded continuously and unexpectedly, surprising me and drivers near me. I was going straight at about 60 mph. It stopped after i firmly depressed the horn pad twice. After i arrived at home the horn sounded again for about 1 minute. The car was parked with the wheel slightly to the left. I disconnected the horn and began researching on line. It didn't take long to find that this has been a common problem with chrysler sebrings for quite a few years: www.carcomplaints.com/chrysler/sebring/2006/accessories-interior/horn_goes_off_by_itself.shtml.

There is a defective part in the steering wheel that costs around $1000 dollars to fix. The horn will go off with any warning. There are currently 49 complaints on the car complaints website for the sebring model. Horn started going off when the car was parked in drive. Then started going off as you drive the car. The only way to stop it is to take out the fuse, which disables the airbag in the steering wheel. Both of these problems are safety issues and there needs to be a recall and chrysler needs to be financially responsible as it seems to be a design flaw.

1st time jut got out of driveway in a.m. And car horn went off and stayed on through most of street and then turned corner and went off again for several seconds as i approached 1st stoplight.2nd time as i very briefly beeped horn at friend twice, near my local donuts place & mcd's,but it continued! i was too embarrassed to stop. 3rd time no one around it parked in driveway when i was shoveling snow. Next & worst time as i was pulling in to stop at plaza and it continued as i shut off car and even restarted itand locked door & unlocked it by key and nothing! went inside car and pressed coast button and finally it stopped. Cops in car ,were nearby when i came out later, said nothing, assumed it went off again with no one around ! 3 other times supposedly no one else around in driveway sometime within my earlier descriptions. Recall this thing!

I was driving to work and the horn went off all by itself. I quickly pressed the horn in response and it went off. It has continued to do this and considerably gotten worse. It goes off even when the car is not started. When i remove the fuse it stops...however i cannot get it inspected for feel safe to drive with the fuse out.

Horn goes off by itself. It happened a couple of years ago and was fixed by dealer under warranty (replaced horn pad).it is now doing it again.

While stopped at a traffic light i put the car in park.when the light turned green the shift lever would not leave park.the car became an inanimate obstacle to flow of traffic through the intersection.

On my 2006 chrysler sebring with the 2.4 litre engine.it is a sedan.the steering wheel was shaking and when we took in into a mechanic, he found that the bracket between the front motor mount to the engine was broken.i have contacted chrysler and they will not be manufacturing the part until the end of june.

Ball joint and ball stud, separated and broken, causing loss of control of vehicle. This occured on the passenger front side. Vehicle was in motion. Back side also has become extremely loose and grinding, advised it also will separate and break, causing an accident and loss of control of vehicle. It happened at the same time the passenger front side broke down. The vehicle was not and has not been in a passenger side accident.
