We had a wreck where we hit the back of a ford 150 truck.we were going about 35 miles /hr and the air bags didn't deploy and the rear seats belts didn't lock, sothat my kids heads hit the backs of the front seats.
2001 chrysler sebring. The problem began with the car being difficult to start. Eventually the car's engine shut off while traveling at 55 m.p.h. The ignition key transponder was deemed the culprit. Several months after repair, the starting problem reappeared. A dealer worked on the car, doing what i do not know, and the problem was solved, for awhile. The next manifestation came with the radio flashing off, headlights remaining on and then extinguishing themselves and dash warning lights blinking. I gave up on repair. These problems have been ongoing for two years. Type "sebring electrical problem"for a computer search revealing numerous similar complaints.
I have a 2001 chrysler sebring coupe. I bought the vehicle on 11/15/2008. The "check engine soon" light came on 3 months later, on 2/15/09 and i got the vehicle serviced at the sheridan ford dealership. They claimed there was an oil leak that was leaking into my engine, and were going to fix that. Then, 4 days later (i drove the vehicle twice), the car broke down in the middle of a highway and had to be towed. I was told the transmission died due to a ring that broke and clogged a pipe which caused the transmission to fail. Also, when my car was being fixed, another oil leak was found and an antifreeze leak had also ocurred. I have only had the vehicle for 3 months and for 1,455 miles.i have had to but over $3100 worth of work into it already, getting a new transmission and fixing the oil and antifreeze leaks.
The consumer was driving the vehicle when the engine stalled on a major highway.the vehicle had to be towed and is now at the dealers.the mechanic stated that there was a slug build up on the rod and in the oil pan.the vehicle had an overheatingproblem prior to this occurrence, when the car was in idle the vehicle would not warm, once the vehicle was moving it warmed up.the manufacturer stated that the vehicle'swarranty had expired as well as the extended warranty.
Chrysler 2.7 liter engine complaint.2001 sebring lxi. 77,000 miles.didn't pass inspection.emissions and visible smoke coming from the tailpipe.just had the car checked and was advised that the engineneeds a lot of work.advised that the 2.7 engine has hadmany problems.many people have filed complaints.i am adding my name to the list of people that are complaining.bottom line is i was told that i could fix all that is wrong and enginewill still fail. I was told that the engine needs to be replaced.i should not have a smoking engine at 77,000 miles.
Engine failure due to oil starvation.oil was changed regularly in the car, but dealer fould excessive oil sludging in engine. The 2.7l v6 engine had 43,000 miles on it. Search for information on 2.7l v6 engine indicated that this is a common occurance due to what several engine experts have stated is due to internal oil passages that are too narrow for engine oil to properly circulate causing the oil to "cook" inside the engine. Received reports of this occurring as early as 35,000 miles with the average failure at 50,000 miles. Chrysler failed to respond to problem and denied 8/80 warranty coverage for the engine repairs.
I own a 2001 chrysler sebring coupe purchased new. I was out of my warranty for some of my repairs however. I have not been able to drive my car since june 20,2004 since that time i have spent an enormous amout of money renting cars. The timing chain broke which in turns damage the engine which i had to pay for. But when all of this happened i did call chrysler to find out if there where any recall on the 2.7 liter engine they of course repled no.i had also called a chrysler dealer to find out why they didn't seem to know i was told that they did not have they knowleged about those engines that they didn't know. Since that time i had to search for that same engine which is not an easy egine to find.i have spent over 3,300 to have this enegine replaced. However in dealing with this and still owe the finance company for this car, i have late payment on my credit report. I have been so stressed out over this it has effected my work, personel life, dealing with this headache.

The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring coupe. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph up an incline the transmission failed to respond. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and then towed to his residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000. The vin was unavailable.
While driving 20 mph transmission failed.

While driving vehicle at approximately 25 mph on the road, the rpms reved up to high levels and the car acclerated at a higher speed without intention, after letting foot completely off the gas pedal the rpms continued to go to high levels and car automatically drove itself without accelerating the gas pedal and even while breaking the rpms continued to rev up and car drove itself. After finally being able to get the car slowed down enough it was able to be put into park, however, after trying to go into drive or another gear the rpms reved up again. After getting vehicle apparently fixed of that problem in which they believed to be a gas pedal problem, one week later the same experience happened again on the road, a splash was heard underneath the hood as if something broke splashing fluid, the car went into a neutral like position while driving and the car would not go into any other gear after. After getting it inspected it was discovered that the transmission went out. I have looked on internet to find many other very similiar experiences with other people having this same exact year, make and model car and have found faulty valve spring in these transmissions.

When moving the steering column, all power cuts off in the car including the motor stopping. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer twice and they fixed the problem, but a fews months later the same problem came back. It occurs every time the steering wheel is adjusted.
This complaint is regarding the paint and clear coat use on the 2001 chrysler sebring.the car was purchased brand new from a chrysler dealer.about 3 yrs after the car was purchased the clear coat and paint started to chip away, this has been getting progressively worse over the past few years.the result is that the trunk, roof and hood of this vehicle have no clear coat, and it is now starting to chip away on the doors and quarter panels.this problem has been brought to the attention of the chrysler dealership numerous times, they keep referring us to the corporate office.we have contacted the corporate office a few times, they say they will get back to us, and they never do.routine vehicle maintenance was done on this vehicle.what else can we do?
Dashboardcracked in 4 places.
I have a 2001 chrysler sebring coupe lxi. The dashboard on this vehicle is cracking and busting up in multiple places.i have always used a window cover, and kept it conditioned with products that specifically indicate that they will not cause drying or cracking.the dashboard has no other signs of damaged caused by the sun.i have researched and apparently this is a big problem with the chrysler / dodge products.chrysler refuses to fix the problems even though their is clearly a huge problem.please refer to this link http://www.topix.net/forum/news/opinion/tp9nb9faidrd6v3rgclearly we expect this sort of problem in vehicles approaching ten years or more, but i hardly think less than a five year durability expectancy in a dashboard is reasonable.additionally, once the integrity of the dashboard has been compromised it becomes a safety issue due to exposed wiring and insulation.
The paint all over my car is fading and cracked and it is only 6 years old. I have saw other cars exactly like mine that have the same problem. I have not done anything to cause the paint to do this and i believe there is something wrong with top coat the manufacture put on.
I recently got my car and love it except for the fact that water is building up on the driver side floor board in the front. I do not know if its the drain holes or the condensation hose. Either way i am attempting to fix these myself, but there seems to be a large amount of chrysler owners on several models having the same problem. We need to get this resolved for all the thousands of chrysler owners having this same issue.
Turning into a parking space the driver side wheel feel off with out any warning!i had to get it towed.the tow truck driver and the mechanic both said i was a very lucky person that it did not happen on the interstate i had just gotten off of.the upper ball joint on the control arm popped out.when this happened the axil pulled out and the break cable was damaged. The estimate i have to fix the ball joint, axil, and break line is $900
All 4 wheels failed at about 38,000 miles dealer and regional both denied responsibility i lost 2 tires and had to replace 4 wheels at cost of $1000.00. Their comment it was cosmetic! not covered. I am no longer a chrysler customer, nor will i ever be again, chrysler should own up to the issue and make compensation.

The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring coupe.the rear driver side wheel and the front passenger side wheel are corroded, peeling, and chipping.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they attempted to clean the wheel and create a seal to trap the air.this did not correct the failures.the tires are constantly becoming flat and must be checked every other day.the vin was invalid.the current mileage was 60,825 and failure mileage was 60,000.
