The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible.while stopped at a red light, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by an suv.as a result, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle.the airbags failed to deploy.two people were injured and had to be transported to the hospital.a police report was filed.the insurance company stated that the vehicle was destroyed.the contact believes that the impact was great enough for the airbags to have deployed.the powertrain was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 86,000.
Clockspring on my 2001 chrysler sebring convertible went out.when i checked the internet i found hundreds of people had this exact same problem with the exact same model and year as mine.this problem disables the air bag.
The contact owns a 2011 chrysler sebring convertible. While parked the contact noticed the horn did not function and the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostics. The mechanic stated the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,600.
Air bag light stays on
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. He noticed that the air bag light illuminated. The dealer stated that clock spring malfunctioned and also caused the horn to fail. The clock spring has been on back order for over six months. The dealer was unsure when the part would be available. The dealer also stated that the convertible cover left latch needed to be repaired. The manufacturer stated that the warranty does not cover the air bag and horn since they are not considered a safety issue. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
I went to my repair shop because my 2001 chrysler sebring convertible airbag light came on and then my steering wheel was making sounds when i turned the wheel.the repair shop diagnosed the problem as a clockspring that needed to be replaced, it disables your airbag, horn, and cruise control when it is broken.i have an extended warranty but was told that it was a federally mandated part therefore was not covered.so, then i contacted chrysler and chrysler told me that since i didn't have an extended warranty through them there was nothing i could do about it.airbags are installed for a persons safety and a part that can disable it should be a safety hazard and should be repaired at the manufacturers cost and not the consumers.why does it matter what type of warranty i have when it concerns a safety issue?
I was driving my 2001 chrysler sebring while out of state on a summer trip in july 2010 when the air bag malfunction light came on. It has stayed that way for almost four years. Shortly after i returned from this trip i took the car to the chrysler dealership (07-29-2010) where i had purchased the car in 2001. I was told (1) that there was no recall on this issue and (2) to fix it would require the replacement of two seldom used parts that would have to be ordered and which together would cost me around $800. I declined to fix this problem as (1) it is a considerable amount of money and (2) i feel this is a problem that i certainly did not cause, that the problem is due to manufacturer defects, and should be fixed by chrysler at no charge to me. I checked with the dealership again this week and was told there still is no recall on this problem. I am the original owner of this vehicle. The car had just under 70,000 miles when the problem appeared and it currently has just under 97,000 miles. I have driven the car nearly 30,000 miles without air bag protection.
Dt*:the contact stated the airbag warning light illuminated without warning.the vehicle was seen by a dealer and the clock spring was replaced which corrected the problem.updated 4/11/2006 -
Air bag warning light is lit, horn failed, speed control failed in unison.
Clock spring on 2001 chrysler sebring convertible defective. Began flashing airbag warning light around 42,000 miles. During the next year the horn quit working, then the cruise control quit. The airbag light now stays illuminated at all times. Mileage only 56,000.
I am fed up with this chrysler sebring i bought 2 years ago. Its had so many problems and now a major one and a popular one i see is happening and before an accident happens lord willing i will make it to the dealer tomorrow. My steering in my 2001 sebring started up last week when i went to turn the wheel it was super tight and i knew instantly something was wrong. Now it is making cracking sounds and is still hard to turn. I called the dealer and they said it sounded like its my rack and pinion. I had taken it to my own mechanic who couldn't find anything visibly wrong with it and said it might be the rack and pinion. After reading all the problems this car has had with the steering i am not surprised mine is right there with them all. I have only 51,000 miles on the car. I am furious. I don't want to pay to get this fixed. I shouldn't have to. Its chryslers fault. My air bag light is also on. Who knows what that is all about. My car started leaking oil from the oil pan gasket a month after i bought it at 32,000 miles and 2 of the motors have gone out in the power windows. This is really a piece of junk!
Dt:caller said3 times her air bag light come on, andhad it fixed twice. She didnot remember the first time. The second time was in august 2004 ,and the last time was onjuly 24, 2005. Caller's vehicle was involvedinan accident on july 14, 2005. Upon impact, the air bags did not deploy, and the air bag light was not on. Dealer was not contacted yet.manufacturer said warranty expired.
- the contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. While driving at 30 mph the contact's vehiclecrashed into the passenge's r door of a 2001 dodge ram. The air bags did not deploy during the crash. The manufacturer stated that the crash did not create the longitudinal back to front deceleration necessary to deploy air bag. The onboard computer report stated that the air bags were operational. The crash destroyed the vehicle. The current mileage was 85000 . Updated 04/12/07.
The airbags in 2001 chrysler sebring did not deploy in a front impact crash**ccthe consumer submitted a claim to the manufacturer, however it was denied. The manufacturers claimed, the impact didn't significantly involve the frame and it did not create the longitudinal (front to back) necessary to deploy the air bags. The conclusion was supported by the readings from the onboard computer that disclosed no codes-indicating that the airbag system was fully operational at the time of the accident.
Air bag sensor and indicator light.*nlm
2001 sebring airbag light illuminates. The dealer replaced the passenger air bag seat belt sensor, however after about a week, the light would illuminate again.the consumer heard a noise in the steering wheel while making turns.
Clock spring broke rendering air bag, horn and cruise control functions inoperable.vehicle has been taken in to dealer before for air bag warning light illumination and dealer said nothing was wrong.took it to second service shop within a month and they stated it was a clock spring and that breakage on chrysler vehicles was common.they were unable to repair so i have to return to the dealer.air bag and horn would fail to operate in an accident.
Air bag light came on intermittently while driving. Dealer was notified. Also, seat belt retractor needed to be replaced.*sc

Consumer noticed a deep scratch on the wood paneling.(nar)*lawhile lowering the convertible top the vehicle's rear windshield shattered.the brakes squealed and had to be replaced at 12000 miles.the vehicle had various electrical malfunctions. When the vehicle was started the speedometer would bounce from 0 - 120 mph.the dealer was never able to rectify this problem.the radio, cd player and speakers were replaced several times.while driving the vehicle shut down with no warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who informed the consumer that the engine had blown.
The engine stalled, due to sludge build up.the consumer was driving when the engine started to knock and slowed down.the consumer was told the engine had blown up due to the build up.there was no warning.the vehicle had electrical problems since purchase, but had not been fixed.the interior lights had constantly come on.the interior lights had constantly went off and on, the driver door did not shut properly, made a clicking sound, was intermittent, and the latch on top was loose, the interior lights flickered from bright to dim, the radio and door lock had become inoperative, when the vehicle was turned to the right, a dinging sound was heard and the brake light would come on, and the headlights had become inoperative. *scc
I purchase my car in 2001 brand new. Shortly after i started to notice that when i get in my car in the morning time or at night ( whenever i use the lights) it would flash from bright to dim i took it to stockburger so they could look at it but it wasn't flickering then so they couldn't do anything. And it's still doing the same thing there is this noise in the engine like a ticking sound when i start the car i took to midas for them to check it out but they said the noise was normal it doesn't sound normal. The window on the driver side doesn't always go up when its let down it stays stuck for a while then it goes up. I did have a radio problem stockburger couldn't really find the problem so they just replace the whole thing. When i drive the car the driver door constantly comes open.
Air bag warning light is lit, horn failed, speed control failed in unison.
Very snowy conditions in killington, vermont.revving the engine to try and get traction.sparks and fumes emitted from the wiring that connects the wire to the rear defroster.eventually, the wire came detached, making the rear defroster both inoperable and a fire/health hazard.a useless rear defroster means a useless rear window.no direct backwards visibility other than the outside rearview mirrors.
Starter fuse keeps blowing.started a year ago.i have gone through 25 fuses in one year.called last year, chrysler said they did not know.brought car in on october 27th, 2004. Was sent home with nothing done.they did not know how to fix the problem.problem getting worse.afraid i will not have a vehicle soon.i am bringing it in on dec 17th.have done recearch and found many, many people with this problem.is this something that is designed wrong?everyone seems to have to spend $500.00 to buy a new starter to fix this problem.why can't the starter be perfect?why do we need to buy a new one in order for this problem to go away?my car is only 3 years old.here are some message boards you should review.http://www.automotiveforums.com/t199009.html http://www.allpar.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48124&pid=366607&st=0&#entry366607 http://p207.ezboard.com/fchryslersebringconvertiblemessageboardfrm1.showmessage?topicid=425.topic http://www.carsurvey.org/review_65179.htmlhttp://www.carsurvey.org/review_64862.html http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_54698.html http://p207.ezboard.com/fchryslersebringconvertiblemessageboardfrm12.showmessage?topicid=549.topic http://p207.ezboard.com/fchryslersebringconvertiblemessageboardfrm1.shownextmessage?topicid=889.topicthank youlisa.
Car started making engine noise so it was pulled over and then would not restart.i was told by my mechanic it needs a new engine.
My husband and i were going to a friend's house. On the way the all of a sudden the engine started knocking loudly. He pulled over to check all of the fluids and everything seemed to be fine. When i got home i researched the issues and about 99% of 2001 sebring convertible owners experienced the same engine problems and it stated that it was due to oil sludge. I called chrysler and informed them of the issue and was told to take the car the a dealership near me. I was able to enjoy my car for about 2 days. They will continue hearing from me for a long time because i am a person that never gives up. I will pester them everyday until my demands are met with fixing or replacing my engine. It is not anyone's fault that they made a crappy engine for this model. Let the games begin.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible.the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled.the contact was able to restart the vehicle but it continued to stall intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics but the engine light was off at the time so the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The engine warning light continued to illuminate intermittently.the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 00v299002 (engine and engine cooling:engine) but was advised by the dealer that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 68,400.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic and after inspecting the failure, the mechanic advised that the engine was destroyed because there was not enough oil in the engine. The engine oil had become sludge as a result of oil build-up. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they could not replace the engine and offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was 92,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. While driving approximately 25 mph, the engine stalled without prior warning. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer and the engine was replaced. Three years later, the identical failure recurred and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the defect and they were unable to provide further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
My car had just reached 100,000 miles when the engine started to make a knock sound. I had it towed to my mechanic and was informed i would need a new engine . Seems there is a plastic cover that is a known issue with these cars. Once this happens requires a new engine and facts show that a replacement engine will do the same thing within the 70,000-100,000 mile range. I have had the car less then 2yrs. I can't trade it due to owing too much. Why is chrylser nor being held accountable for this known defect. Look at the history.
The engine failed on my 2001 sebring convertible.the oil light flickered on and off and then the car stopped running. The car was towed to the local dealer who kept the car for 2 weeks in dec , but could not find any thing wrong with the car. Three weeks later the motor has major damage from a oil pump failure.
My 2001 chrysler sebring convertible with a 2.7 liter engine just quite on the highway with no prior warning or warning lights coming on one day last july.the dealer claims the engine seized due to sludge build-up.since the car was 3, 600 miles over the 36,000 mile warranty, chrysler has refused to repair the engine or even acknowledge that there is a problem with the 2.7 liter engine over-heating and causing sludge build-up. *nlm
Driving vehicle, no sign of problems no lights on or check engine display, vehicle started tapping noise. Towed to dealership, said need new engine. Had maintenance records of oil change every 4000 miles while owners manual states do every 7500 under normal cond. Vehicle was bought used in june 2009 with 50,000 miles on it, 9 months later with 65,000 miles this happened.had an extended warranty bought at dealershipgot the best coverage called total care and theywill only cover a partial partof the repairs. Vehicle has the 2.7 engine and there are numerous complaints of this same nature and chrysler and the warranty companies blame the consumer and will not pay for repairs.
2001 sebring convertible - oil lamp appears on dashboard, car stalls, towed by aaa, informed i need new engine.online history of problems with oil sludge/new engines needed, nhtsa recall i was never notified about, i purchased additional warranty in may 2001 (6 years total) which ran out 2 weeks agohave nowhere to turn for help.i'm currently collecting service records (my oil changes are up to date) - how can i have a voice with chrysler in this matter?
Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 25 mph, a loud clunking noise was heard coming from the engine.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined the problem was due to sludge build up causing damage to the lower end connecting rods.also, the dealer determined that the problem was not caused by poor maintenance.the manufacturer was also contacted and determined the same thing as the dealer.
Complete engine failure at 78, 895 miles due to oil sludge build up (december 2004).had a remanufactured engine put in 2/21/2006 when i could finally afford it and chrysler would do nothing about it.i used only synthetic oil in the replacement engine and had it changed every 3000 miles and yesterday (9-1-2008), it started making a funny noise.i had it towed to a repair shop today to be safe, and the verdict is i need a new engine - again due to oil sludge.
Absolutely no symptoms prior to the engine suddenly blowing 2 head gaskets. At a previous oil change, i had been told that i had some sludge in my engine and asked would i like to purchase an additive for it? since i had read my owner's manual when i bought the car, i knew that chrysler did not recommend adding anything to the engine, so i said no. I assumed it was just a sales ploy by the oil change outlet anyway. After having just exited a freeway, my car suddenly began to lose power with absolutely no lights coming on. After the car died, i opened the hood and had oil everywhere. The car was towed to my mechanic of 15 years who told me that both head gaskets had blown, the water pump had gone and that there was sludge all over the inside of my engine. He had never seen anything like it and thinks it is the worst designed engine imaginable. The water pump is located inside the engine. After spending $2600, the top half of my engine has been replaced, but the bottom half still needs to be replaced at an estimated cost of $5300. After driving for about 12 highway miles, my car cannot maintain oil pressure while idling and i have to keep the idle up manually so i don't harm the work we have already done. We replaced 24 lifters, 2 head gaskets, the water pump, 3 oil sending units and various miscellaneous parts. My other car has 300,000 miles on it. I know how to maintain a car. I am grateful it didn't lose power on the freeway i had just exited. I have filed a complaint with the center for auto safety and the mediation group handling this for chrysler. I am awaiting paperwork from them at the present time.
I own chrysler sebring convertible, 2001. The engine got broken on the highway as a result of oil sludge.
On 7/27 before leaving home, car was serviced bypalmer dodge(roswell, ga ).explained that i was going on trip from alpharetta, ga-ossining, ny (2000 miles roundtrip). Told dealer car had approx. 85,000 & was willing to rent a car. "please go over car & tell me if i was your wife...would you have me rent a car or take my 2001 chrysler sebring convertible ltd. To ny & back."left the dealership with an oil change & a 24 point safety check w/no concerns about car. We arrived in ny on 7/29 safely (9 yr. Old twins & maltese arrived in ny). On july 31 we drove from the hotel in tarrytown to ossining visited my mother, father graves. While at the last grave the oil light flickered while the car sat running. I pressed gas pedal it went out. We started back to hotel via route 9., a narrow, 2 lane highway. Got about 3 miles to briarcliff manor when i heard the car make a tapping sound. Despite traffic and no warning...no oil light, engine light etc. I make a sharp turn to side street & turned off car. My children are crying, my sister & dog are freaked out & there we are stranded with 1.5 hrs before my nephews baby dedication. I start the car back up & put the flashers on /drive the car mostly in neutral praying all the way to the entrance to sleepy hollow automotive who quickly told me the engine is shot & the car which i thought was worth at least $5000 was not worth fixing. I called jenkin engines & was told me there are 3 major problems with this chrysler 2.7 engine and it would cost $3600 for a reman. Engine & $1800 for labor (minimum)- 3 weeks to fix... I was now stranded in ny, vacation ruined, children freaked out. I have read hundreds of other complaints. How in 2010 can an engine "die" with no warning?this is recall cand. & nhtsa should make chryslerrepair or reimburse car owners. My car is still in ny...ga dealer not returning calls. Recom oil too thin? oil sludge? easy to blame owners for oil changes when chrysler this is your fault. Be responsible.
My 2001 sebring engine locked up in the middle of a busy intersection due to catastrophic failure of the piston rods, bearing and crankshaft on the 2.7l engine.this failure has been widely reported and i was lucky enough to have just cleared the ft. Mchenry tunnel on i95 in baltimore maryland.the center for auto safety has recorded many of these types of issues with the sebring.it will cost $6,000 to repair and someone is going to get hurt.
I bought a used 2001 chrysler sebring with a 2.7 liter v6 engine from an independent car lot around may 2006.the car was very clean and had the original manuals in the glovebox but no service records from the previous owner (there was only one owner according to carfax).the car had 99k miles on it and ran well when i test drove it.i moved to tn and did routine maintenance on the car - an alignment, new tires, and regular oil changes with synthetic oil at jiffy lube. The engine started to make rattling noises when i started the car, when accelerating and when going up hills in early july 2007.the sound got worse as time progressed.i took the car to a firestone auto centerin mid-july 2007.the mechanics told me that they couldn't fix the engine and that i would need to replace it.i had only put 11k miles on it since i owned it and i was still making payments on the car. I asked them how much it would cost to have a new engine put in.they looked up the price for a rebuilt engine and with labor and gave me an estimate of $7200.then the mechanic told me privately that he didn't think it was worth it to fix the car.he also said that the engine could fail at any minute and possibly leave me stranded or in a dangerous situation.i looked up the value of the car - it was only worth $6000 (i still owed about $6500 in payments).i then went onto online car forums to see if anyone else had problems with this engine to see what my options were.there i found out that many people had the same problems with the engine failing and that some who had replaced the engine had the second engine eventually fail also.so i went shopping for a new car using the sebring as a trade-in.i told the dealership about the engine (the rest of the car was in great condition). I got $1000 for the trade and basically lost $5000 because of the bad engine.i work in a helping profession so this loss was a considerable set-back for me.
I was driving my car on the garden state parkway, when i came to a stop at a red light at exit 11, the engine made a horrible noise and stopped working in the middle of a left turn to get off of the parkway.
2.7 liter engine in my chrysler sebring seized - no warning of low oil or an oil leak.
Engine started knocking, and the vehicle turned off and would not start. Consumer stated that the vehicle was still not running, and had not been towed.
2001 v-6 2.7 engine failure with 37,900 miles.dealer states the engine failed due to oil sludge buildup dispite oil changes at every 6,000 miles.their is a design flaw with this engine restricting oil flow to vital engine parts.i have found hundreds of similar claims on the internet.we need your help to force chrysler to recall or compensate the owners of this defective engine.i tried to get chrysler to help but all i get is stone wallled and fustrated.
Dt: the engine blew up while driving.this almost caused an accident.this engine had very low mileage at 42,800.from all information i can gather this is a problem with the company and they are not doing anything to fix this, over 700 complaints. *eh
This is another example of the oil sludge issue with the chrysler 2.7 l engine. I bought the car used with low miles, and had my tension arm go out a few months later due to sludge buildup.this second instance came up pretty quickly. The started knocking on hard acceleration, then 2 days later started missing badly going uphill on my way home form work. The engine dies on the downhill side of the most dangerous road in portland (germantown rd.). This is a very steep extremely curvy road and i came all too close to not being able to make the first turn with no power steering or brakes.making my way down the remainder of the hill was a bit frightening, to say the least. After getting towed and finding out the damage was blown bearings and replace the engine, it was suggested i look online for chrysler 2.7 l engine to find that this should have been considered a defect and the engine should have been replaced or repaired by chrysler, but chrysler claims the engine is fine, it's the owner's fault.
Dt*: the consumer stated the engine stalled without prior warning.although no warning lights illuminated prior to the stalling, the check oil light illuminated afterwards.the consumer restarted the vehicle and drove to a dealer.the service department suggested replacing the engine.the dealer discovered sludge and other fluid contamination in the engine; however basic maintenance was performed regularly.
I went to the local 7-11 less then 1 min. By car to get something.car was quiet & smooth running like it should be - since i maintained my car & took extra special care of it since it is my car & has my handicap plates on it.i pulled out of the parking lot of the 7-11 - came to a red light, was 1st car at red light- light changed to green, went to apply gas, car stalled - was able to get the car restarted- when it did restart, the car was now making a funny noise coming from the front end.went to apply gas, could feel that the car wanted to stall again - was able to slowly apply gas, and then be able to coast down the little hill to my side street& able to get the car safely into my driveway.i was very lucky i wasn't rear ended at the light- the road on which it stalled they have a 40 mph speed limit- iwas also very lucky my child wasn't in the car with me.the failure of this only happened once- because the car was towed from my home to the dealership - where it still sits almost 1 year later - this engine failure is a chrysler issue - they are the ones that are responsible to pay for the car repairs & replace the engine - considering the fact they have known of this problem with their engines for many many years & still continue from what i have read by doing google searches on this 2.7l v6 engine.you are the national highway traffic & safety commission and have the pwer to recall these engines before someone dies from driving these cars with these engines or before a child is seriously injured or worse-.
Dt: while driving the car on a long trip, one quart of oil in vehicle as every 700 miles.engine and cap plugs leaks oil.there is a heating and cooling problem. The dealer will not tell all the details about what is wrong, but did say the block would have to be replaced.
I have a 2001 chry sebring convt limited with a 2.7 engine. It was purchased from a dealer with 38,000 miles and now has 72,000 miles and i had no ideal that when getting in my car to go to work one morningthat it would not start. The motor would only lightly turn but not fully turn over. I made sure of the regular oil changes as with any other car i've had in the past. The motor is sludge like i've never changed the oil since i've had it. I paid 11,000cash and very disappointed ! i too am disappointed and upset that chrysler isn't standing up to this problem. It's a very pretty carbut that doesn't get me to work being pretty.so i'm going to try to repair it. For around 3,000. I believe if we stand together those who believe will pray jesus will change chrysler to do a recall. We'll all feel better. Oh, this was my third chrysler vehicle a 1997town & country and a 1999 sebring convt. I'm at this point afraid to get any other. Even to repair it may lock up it seems in two years reading others complaints. I really hate that i've lost alot of hard working cash only to put out more. I don't want another use motor due to my findings with the 2.7. I couldn't even do the clunker deal. I'm glad no one at this time has gotten killed or hurt.
Was driving home from a local store.was at a traffic light, light turned green, i applied gas, car stalled ( was almost rear-ended).was able to get the car started, but now a loud noise is coming from the front end, and when i go to apply gas, the car wants to stall out.was able to coast downhill and pull onto a residential street and drive at 5 mph and get car into my driveway.that week, while waiting for my new extended warranty papers to come in, left car in driveway, tried starting it but noise still there, so let the car sit.had car towed to dealership, opened engine, was told car needs a new engine.nothing has been done, because warranty company will not replace engine.had to pay for a new battery to be installed since when i left car sitting in driveway, the battery died.to open the engine up for the warranty company to show that i maintained engine also cost around 400.00.since november, my car with my handicap plates on it sits at the dealership.i see that their is a class action lawsuit going on for the 2.75 liter v6 engine put in these cars by chrysler, but this is a serious condition, i was just lucky i wasn't rear-ended and it didn't happen on the highway with my child in the car.
2001 chrysler sebring conv - lxi , 2.7 liter 83,000 miles , water pump quit as working on it realized the pump blew most of the water in to the engine , replaced the timing idler , flushed the engine out , replaced the oil , ran the engine , then replaced to fresh oil , few day later noticed the car was showing low oil causing the light to turn on , checked the oil came out being fine 5 quarts as its supposed to have , replaced oil and filter to be sure all was 100% fine oil light kept coming on at idle moments after the engine be gone to make a very loud rattling sound ,called chrysler they said this is a typical issue with the model engine and since the car was out of warranty they were not obligated to repair or replace the engine as i researched the internet i notice i am not alone with this same issue there is a very high amount of owners of the 2.7 liter engine with the same issue of the loud rattling in the bottom of the engine , chrysler claims it's dueto improper oil changes and the engine breaks down due to sludge , i would like to let my car be used as an example for a fare recall as i have no engine sludge and have a valid track record of oil changes at 3,000 or before 3,000 miles with wal-mart here in my townmy car was well maintained and has been all over the usa and never once had a major issue of any sort till the pump malfunctioned as it does in many other cars out there but since this issue has come to the car has been parked.
There were no events leading into the failure. One day it would not start, and upon investigation, there was sludge in the oil pan. That is when i began reading of the thousands of others with the same issue!
The timing chain/guides/tensioner has failed in the vehicle with only 91000 miles on the odometer.i have experienced the oil light coming on at idle and have been told by the dealer that the issue is the sensor.this did not correct the problem.
Was driving my 2001 chrysler sebring convertible that i had only owned for 2 mos. For my delivery job. When i noticed that the engine compartment was smoking bad and also started running really rough when stopped at traffic lights. Added quart of oil after letting the engine cool and it seemed to run fine. Tried to use for work the next day and it did the same thing + died 2x. Took to mechanic and was informed that one of the head gaskets had blown and was also leaking coolant into the engine and a lot of sludge. After getting a quote of $850 i left it at his shop he did further research & called to inform me that the 2.7 dohc v6 in the sebring convertible has a history of problems like this and the only sure sort of long term solution was to replace the engine. Also have found out after my own researchthat chrysler is doing nothing to remedy this defect. I would very much like to see chrysler recall these piece of junk engines and do something about this defect.
In june of 2005, my 2001 chrysler sebring convertible engine start making this loud noise like a rod was going to go. I turned it off had the car taken to a local dealer and they said i had sludge in the engine. When i asked for the service manager to explain sludge to me about me not changing my oil and not properly having the car serviced. It was at that time i had the car towed back to my house, where it has been sitting. On february 6th i went to my attorneys office and he sent chrysler a letter(certified) that i want them to fix my car and/or we will be filing a class action case in the franklin county of ohio courts against them.i have contacted chrysler personally and they all but said i caused the problem.after having talked with some mechanics and looking at the inter-net i now know this was not an isolated case.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning.it was maneuvered off the road and towed to the dealer, who replaced the engine due to engine sludge.
2001 chrysler sebring.i had an engine blow at 71,850 miles.changed oil every 3,00 miles and have service records to prove it.
I have a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible which was previously owned by the dealer and maintained on a routine schedule as you could imagine (being that the dealers wife drove it) and then i purchased it in 2006 and kept all scheduled maintenance as well, doing oil changes as suggested.well, i was recently driving down the street and all of a sudden, without any prior warning or anything, i just started hearing this loud knocking noise and the vehicle started shaking and then it just died....right in the middle of the freeway...i thought i was going to be hit.i had to be towed and took it to the closest service shop and the mechanic told me that he had just replaced an engine like mine in another customers car two weeks before that had the same thing happen.he said that the engine failed due to low oil pressure from clogged oil passages, which in turn caused the engine to be starved of oil, causing the failure of the engine parts. I called the chrysler dealership where i had my car maintenance theservice manager told me "well those weren't the best engines that chrylser ever built" but he then proceeded to tell me that there was nothing they could do, i would need a new engine, to the tune of about $7,000.i regularly did everything i could to keep this vehicle in tip top condition and had no warning there was any issue with the engine and feel this should be covered by chrysler.
I was driving my vehicle (2001 chrysler sebring 2.7l) on the highway at approx. 70 miles per hour when it suddenly shut off. I was barely able to maneuver to the side of the road. Vehicle has been diagnosed with engine failure due to oil sludge and antifreeze in the oil. The $2000 ge extended warranty that i purchased has denied the claim due to "poor maintenance" without even seeing all of my receipts. Chrysler manual recommends oil change every 7500 miles and they were all done well before that. No work has currently been done on the vehicle as ge is requesting complete tear down of the motor for further investigation, yet they will not pay the cost.
Low oil pressure light comes on at idle.
Dt*:the contact stated while driving at 65 mph, the engine stalled.the vehicle was towed to the dealership for inspection.the dealer recommended replacing the engine due to internal parts within the engine failing.the engine was replaced and the vehicle operates normally. The engine was replacedby the manufacturer. The contact had to pay $250.00 deductible and $150.00 for a new engine mounting bracket.
While driving approximately 45 mph vehicle stalled.driver managed to get vehicle out of traffic.towed to independent shop, mechanic stated engine needed to be replaced, coolant went inside the engine. Please provide further information. *ph
2001 sebring convertible needs to have engine replaced. Was driving down the road and a sound like a soda can inside the engine started. Mechanic says rod baron gone bad. Searched and said this 2.7l engine is garbage and says that it will happen again with a replacement engine. The engine is garbage. Car has sat in my garage while i decide what to do...4k to repair and being told it will happen again...'!@#$% chryslerhow do you stay in business!!!
Driving on the highway at 55 mph, the engine stop without warning. After the engine stopped the temp indicator went on. Towed to dealership where i was informed that the water pump broke, coolants entered the crankcase and the engine was destroyed. The car had only 59,000 miles on it. Chrysler refused to help or repar. Quoted new engine price at $9500. Chryslers customer service is non existant.
- the contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible lxi, when coming to a stop, the oil light would illuminate.when accelerating the oil light turnedoff.the dealer stated that the failure was due to the sensor.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle on 6 occasions due to engine noises.the dealer stated that the vehicle was operating normally.while driving 35 mph under normal road conditions the engine stalled.the contact was able to get the vehicle to the side of the road with without a crash. The contact called the manufacturer, whonstated that there was not a recall related to the failure.the current and failure mileage were 67,892.

2001 chrysler sebring convertible 2.7 l, 89500 miles, engine looses of power at 70 mph on i95 without warning in heavy traffic, forcing driver to make a unsafe lane changes to coast off of the roadway.investigation on internet has resulted in find out that chrysler corp has had a big problem with this engine failing but takes no responsibility for the failure and continues to blame it all on the consumer for improper maintenance, oil changes.the engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced once the exact component failure most likely a rod bearing is found, this will result in total replacement at a cost of $6,000 - $8,000 or more at my expense when it should be covered by the vehicle warranty
Engine failure- i have a 2001 chrysler sebring limited with the 2.7 ltr engine of which i have faithfully had serviced.the engine, with no warning, went out just as i am seeing with other complaints on the web.
I own a chrysler sebring with a 2.7l engine, my auto body repair driver was taking the car to have a 4 wheel alignment when the engine seized while he was driving down the road.there was no warning the engine just quit.i hada factory rebuilt engine put in the car for the cost of $4500.00 and the auto repair shop stated the engine failed due to sludge.
Light tapping from engine turned into very loud knocking.vehicle is still running, but engine sounds like it will come apart even at idle speed.oil and filter changed at a service center the week prior.
Dt:the contact stated approximately two seconds after the oil light came on the vehicle stalled.the vehicle was towed to a garage; they found sludge build up in the engine.there have been no repairs done to the vehicle.updated 12/27/05.
I was driving home from work and the car started making loud knocking noises. When i got home i had the car towed to a mechanic where i was informed that the engine would have to be replaced as this particular engine, 2.7l v6 dohc, is know to have design problems that lead to failure. I had it towed to another mechanic for a second opinion and was told the same thing almost verbatim. There were 76,000 miles on the car when it failed and because of the expense of the engine replacement, $5,800, and the amount i still owe on this car which i have only had for 2 years, $8,000, i am at a financial loss having to continue to make payments on a car that will not run.
I am writing in regards to my 2001 chrysler sebring which contains a 2.7l engine that failed in december 2006 while i was driving on i-75, a major highway in ohio (cincinnati) during a busy hour of the day (between 6pm & 7pm). There were no events leading up to the failure.i had my oil changed every 3,000 miles at a dealership.i was driving on a highway and my engine locked up.nothing has been done to fix the failure.it would cost more to get the engine fixed than the car is worth, and i have not found anyone (besides a chrysler dealership, which quoted me $8,900 to repair my engine) that would agree to repairing my car because no one wants to work on that engine model.my engine had 80,000 miles on it when it failed.i had my oil changed every 3,000 miles at a dealership, there is no reason my engine should have failed.my engine is still not fixed.not only did this issue put me in harms way when the car stopped on the highway, but it has caused a financial hardship.please advise if there is anything that i can do.
Sudden catastrophic failure of the engine.
Well the first time my water pump failed,i was on my way to work. Then after a 1400$ repair, i got me vehicle backand after another 5000 miles. I was on my way to work and there was no noise no nothing it just stopped. I had to have it towed. I was told that the connecting rod had gotten hot and broke destroying the block. I was also told it would be a 8,000$ repair job. I was also told it was starved of oil,the temperatures gauge never got hot nothing,my vehicle broke down after 4 blocks of driving.
My engine seized up while i was driving home from school tuesday night.i was traveling at 65 mph when the engine started making a loud tapping noise and then just died.i have a 2002 chrysler sebring with a 2.7l engine.the car only had 37,000 miles on it.

I bought my 2001 sebring lxi convertible in dec 2003, with just over 500 miles on the odometer.it had suffered a transmission failure at the original dealer, had never been sold to a customer, was returned to chrysler for a replacement, then sat on a back lot for nearly two years before being resold to another dealer.i bought it with a new car warranty and bought the extended (7 year/70,000 mile) warranty.after initial problems with the transmission control module, heater and warped brake rotors (all fixed by the dealer), the car served me very well for 50,000 miles--no serious issues at all.at each service after roughly 20,000 miles, i would tell the chrysler service dept that the oil pressure light was coming on intermittently.they would duly check the oil level and tell me not to worry.then i took it to a chrysler dealer (rosenthal, arlington, va) for the 50k service and told them that the oil pressure light had been coming on frequently at idle or very low rpms for the past 10,000 miles or so, but the oil level was fine, and also that the engine had begun to use oil at about 1 quart every couple of thousand miles.the dealer service manager told me not to worry, that this particular engine (2.7l) with that much mileage tended to use oil.he said just to keep it topped up.i kept checking and adding oil for the next 5,000 miles.just before i intended to take the car in for another oil change, the engine blew without warning on an inter-state highway.i had it hauled to the nearest chrysler dealer and paid to have the oil pan pulled and assessed.the mechanic said the engine was blown and the cause was sludge build-up, and that my extended warranty did not cover that cause for engine failure.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible.the contact stated that her vehicle is experiencing engine bearing failure.she stated that there is a knocking noise in the engine and the bearings rub against each other.the mechanic stated that the failure was common in all the vehicles of that same model.the vin and speed were unknown.the current and failure mileages were 113,400.

I recently purchased a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible with a 2.7liter engine three months ago from a private owner.car seemed in good condition, oil changes runs good...on 8/18/09 my husband and i were driving and out of nowhere the engine seized.we paid $100 for a tow to pep boys. At pep boys we paid $100 plus to have them tell us there is nothing else we can do we need a new engine.we haven't replaced it yet as this just happened two days ago but we estimate $2000 to replace the engine.i only purchased the vehicle for $4800.

The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph and heard a loud metal to metal dragging noise outside of the vehicle. The contact later noticed that the fuel tank was partially detached. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where both fuel tank straps were replaced due to corrosion. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000. The vin was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring. The contact stated that she had been operating the vehicle for approximately 15 minutes when smoke was seen coming from the engine area. A fire did not erupt. One week later the vehicle began stalling sporadically. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who advised that transmission fluid was leaking into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 01v011002 (power train) but was advised that the vin was not included in the recall campaign. The dealer advised the contact that the vehicle was not repairable. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 123,000.
The timing chain/guides/tensioner has failed in the vehicle with only 91000 miles on the odometer.i have experienced the oil light coming on at idle and have been told by the dealer that the issue is the sensor.this did not correct the problem.
While driving my2001 chrysler sebring the car wouldjolt as you are coming to a stop. The car at this time had 89,958 miles on it. After a complete diagnostic service by aamco transmissions the transmission was reconditioned with rebuilt torque converter. Cost me $2,700.

Ltr from senator brown re constituent, who has concerns about the seat belt restraining module in her 2001 daimler chrysler sebring convertible. *njthe consumer stated the air bag light illuminated. A diagnostic revealed, the problem was the seat belt restraint module.
Air bag warning light came on and remained on.dealer diagnosed problem as failure of right front seat belt pretensioner.seat belt pretensioner was replaced to fix the problem.
The seat belt restraint module on the passenger side of the vehicle will not deploy. A diagnostic was run and the problem was discovered, the red light on the dash continues to be displayed when the car is running.the chrysler dodge & jeep place said there wasa six month back order on the defective part.this tells that they have a problem there and are not recalling it, until you take action.
Air bag light came on intermittently while driving. Dealer was notified. Also, seat belt retractor needed to be replaced.*sc
The sealt belt tensioner has had to be replaced twice now in my 2001 chrylser sebring convertible.both time the airbag light has come on and service tech determined the fix.it's my belief that there is a defect by chrysler and they should be responsible for cost of repair.

Two incidents occurred with subject vehicle, the first on 12/27/01. When approaching an intersection while slowing for a traffic light, the car lurched forward and accelerated. I immediately applied the brakes but the car continued to move foward toward a double parked vehicle. After pushing hard on the brakes while pulling my body up off the seat, the car finally stopped. I brought the car to the dealership and they could not find any problem. The next mishap occurred on 1/27/02, wherein i was to back out of my driveway. I had my foot on the brake pedal while shifting the car into reverse. The 2001 sebring convertible lurched but could not move because my foot was on the brake pedal. This being the second time, i calmly placed the car in park. These too mishaps are frightening and dangerous as its occupants and any pedestrian(s) in the path of the vehicle could easily be injured or seriously injured.
While driving about 20 mph there was a loud noise, leftwheel pulled toleft and skidded. Towed to dealer, left front caliper had come loose and locked uptire.

2001 sebring airbag light illuminates. The dealer replaced the passenger air bag seat belt sensor, however after about a week, the light would illuminate again.the consumer heard a noise in the steering wheel while making turns.
I have read about sludge build up in the engine of the chrysler sebring 2.7 engines.i am experiancing a knocking noise in the engine or suspension that is intermettent.i experiance this problem when my engine is hot and also when the weather is hot (as i live in florida).i do not notice this when the weather is cooler and the engine is cool.could this be the starting of engine build up too.suncoast chrysler cannot seem to find anything wrong.would a diagnosis test on the engine reveal signs of build up?how can i have this checked out and fixed? i have also experianced a clicking noise in my sterring column which suncoast claims to have a tsb on this problem and needs to replace a some parts.your input is greatly appreciated.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring. While driving 25 mph the front suspension collapsed causing the front driver side tire to come off.the vehicle was not drivable so the contact had the vehicle towed to a local mechanic. The local mechanic replaced both outer tie-rods, left drive axle, the lower control arm, and the left lower ball joint. A local mechanic informed the contact that the right lower ball joint also would need to be replaced soon.the contact called the manufacturer regarding a recall for the suspension front, control arm lower ball joint but the vin was not included in the recall. The contact stated this vehicle should be added to the recall. The failure mileage was 139,039updated 4/19/10 chrysler informed the consumer the matter would not be investigated due to the high mileage on the vehicle, even though a recall had been issued. Updated 06/18/10.
I own a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible that i bought new for my wife. She drives it daily andi have it serviced regularly. The car has 63,000 miles on it. This past week i took it to my mechanic to have new front brakes replaced.after he road tested it, he told me that i needed two new outside tie rods.he explained that because there is no way to lubricate them, they will wear out and could cause an accident. My concern is that i have owned many vehicles over my life (55 years old) and this is one area that i have never had to deal with.i find it disturbing that manufacturers can build a car with sol little regard to the potential that you could not be able to control a car due to faulty design.how difficult would it have been for tie rods to have grease fittings to keep them from premature wear out. Can anything be done from your agency's perspective to force manufacturers to make a vehicle that is mechanically safe?the accident that didn't happen is why i am writing to you.i would hate to have to explain that my wife was involved in an accident because of a lack of a grease fitting.your response and whether chrysler should be responsible is requested.thank you.

The chrome plate on the interior door handle has "split".this has caused me to cut my finger on several occasions when opening the door.i have asked two dealers to repair the handle.i am told that it will cost in excess of $500.00 to replace the entire door panel.i find it difficult to believe this expense to replace a $10-15.00 part.it was a "defect" in the production of the handle, not abuse, that has created this situation.i was in touch with customer "disservice" on one occasion, but they have not returned any of my calls since.
One evening while trying to exit my car, the driver's side door would not open from the inside. I took the car to the dealer, who had to order the part. This part has been on back order since july 19, 2007. As of dec. 10, 2007, chrysler says that there is not estimated delivery date for the part. No dealer anywhere has this part, so basically it doesn't exist. I still cannot open my driver's side door from the inside.
When opening and closing the top, often times the sides of the top fold underneath the rear window.this causes a crease which makes it more likely to occur again.when folded under the top often leaks in the rain.when manually pulled out into it's rightful place, the portion of the top pulled out becomes ruffled and unsightly.damages were causedto the rear window defroster.on one side, the wire connected to the electronic defroster was broken off.also, the top has torn loose from the bottom window over halfway across the window.the top has already been replaced once under warranty for the same problem, and the same problem has now recurred.
The ball joint on the control arm assembly can fail causing the ball stud to wear through the control arm housing resulting in noise and/or separation of the ball stud from the housing.
I was driving on savannah springs drive (a patio home community) and i heard a horrible noise and stopped.i though i had a flat tire but when i got out and looked, my left front wheel had off. (the balljoint came loose from the control arm) the car was not drivable and had to be towed home.we just purchased this car on 4/23/2015 from new life auto in noblesville, in and drove it home to louisville, ky on i65.the car drove great and i took it out for a drive and turned into a neighborhood less than 1/2 mile from my house when this happened.i was on a very busy road prior to this and thank the lord that i was not on that road when it happened.the tow driver said i would have totaled the car and hit someone else.no injuries occurred and not other vehicles were involved.we see there is a recall on the control arm and wonder if we are covered.
Just turning off the main busy road from driving 40-45mph and onto a small residential narrow street doing 25mph i suddenly heard very loud clunking noises si i immediately stopped the car and got out and noticed that my rear drivers side tire was slanting inward. It turned out to be that my rear upper ball joint had busted . Was told by the tow truck driver that if it would of happened a few seconds earlier while driving 40 mph on the main road, that i would of had a serious crash. Due to my tire buckling in from the ball joint breaking in half.the entire suspension on the car needs repaired. Front and back. All bushings, ball joints are totally worn down to almost nothing. Shocks/struts all no good.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. Whiledriving approximately 55 mph the contact lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a crash. The police appeared on the scene and the driverwas injured. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to anindependent mechanic who stated that the rear drivers side upper ball joint fractured from the control arm. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 240,000.
Rear top strut brackets are made of aluminum and have disintegrated. This allows strut to shift outward resulting in coil spring rubbing on inside of rear tire.i am waiting on the replacement bracket, but dealer tells me there are 10,000 on back order! this is apparently a big problem with the top rear strut brackets on sebring convertibles and sedans.should have been recalled long before brackets desintegrate.
I bought my 2001 chrysler sebring convertible brand new back in 2001. For the last few years, i'd been hearing a slight clunking coming from somewhere in my passenger side, rear suspension. On the night of july 10th, 2008 my wife and i were on the highway and starting hearing a major banging coming from the same area. I thought my shock had loosened as i had heard that before on a previous car. I was 140 miles from home on my way for a weekend vacation. Then on monday i made an appointment with my mechanic telling him i thought i need new rear struts. After looking at my car, he tells me that it wasn't the strut that let go it was thestrut mount plate that has rubber in the middle of it that rusted away and it punched through up into the rear dash compartment. He said he called around to the dealers and every one of them said thatpart was on backorder due to a factory closing and that as of that date there were over 11,000 cars that needed them and were waiting on chrysler to get the part from an out of country factory. Then he said even worse, when the part was available to ship to a local dealer it would take 5 working days to get it into the country and another 5 working days to get it shipped to the dealer. I've been without my car now for over 2 weeks and my mechanic was told that the factory is only producing and shipping out only 500 every other week or so .... Where i'm about number 10,999 on the waiting list i'd say that puts me at around 10 months without a car !!!! unacceptable ! the fact that this part is so far back ordered tells me that chrysler was using faulty parts to begin with or they wouldn't be rotting out like they are so consistently. My mechanic said he even triedto get the part from a network of junkyards and they all said that the exact same part were all half rotted out of all the sebrings in the lot .... Help !!
I bought a used car from hyannis honda, west main st., hyannis, ma the last week in may 2005. Recently, i got a nail in my back rear tire. I took the vehicle to cape and island tire in falmouth, ma.after examining the tire, the manager said that they could fix the tire but it would be useless because all four of my tires would never pass the state inspection because my tires were to bald. After paying for 2 new rear tires($250), i took the car back to hyannis honda. The sales manager agreed that the tires were defective and they would replace the front 2 tire for free. A week later, after returning for a trip to ca at 10:30 p.m.,the front tire was flat because hyannis honda didn't seal the tire properly and the battery was dead.the next day i returned to hyannis honda who agreed to fix the tire but said that my battery didn't have enough charge to start the car in the winter. I could purchase a new battery for $110.i discussed my situation with brian perry in hyannis, a certified inspection representative. He said that if he inspects a car and notices that the tires are unsafe, even if they are barely within state guidelines, he would warn the driver of the potential danger of driving on unsafe tire especially during the winter months.i really feel as though hyannis honda definitely has a "conflict of interest" in being able to inspect their own used car. The car they sold me might have passed the tire requirements but they should have warned me that i was riding on almost bald tire and that the battery was so old that it wouldn't work in the winter. I feel that their unethical behavior endangered my life and the lives of my family. I know the old adage"buyer beware" but this is terrible behavior from a reputable honda dealership.
My 2001 chrysler sebring convertible cruise control comes on uncommanded. The cruise control will come on at a stop, while at idle, and at all speeds.
This car began "lurching" at first. The dealer could not identify the problem and installed a black box device to record any future problems. The next day, the car began accelerating to high speeds on its own. The only remedy (aside from braking which stalled the vehicle) was to put the car in neutral. I travelled three miles to my house and nearly collided with several cars due to this mysterious acceleration. This is an extremely dangerous siyuation and i think it needs to be addressed immediately!!
I was driving west on jefferson ave in detroit.there are traffic signals at both ends of a short bridge where it passes over i-375.i stopped at the first and, when the light changed, started forward, the second traffic signal turned red.the vehicle in front of me stopped, but, when i took my foot off of the accelerator and put it on the brake, the car continued acceleratingand, although i was literally standing up on the brake, it had no effect and i hit the stopped vehicle in front of me going about 25 or 30 miles an hour.the air bag did not deploy.similar events have occurred a half dozen or more times before, but never with the same consequences.on previous occasions, the continuing acceleration stopped after a delay and i was able to bring the car to a stop,on two previous occasions, there was another auto a car length or more in front of me, and the delay before the brake took over caused me to bump into it.in neither case was there any bodily or serious vehicle damage.in other instances, i wasable to avoid collision, after suffering a scare. After each episode, i reported the problem when i took the car to the dealer.on two occasions, the dealer's service department kept the car several days trying to replicate the occurrence.they were never successful. (if they retain copies of their service orders, they will reflect that i reported the problem and they were unable to determine the cause or to fix it.)my vehicle is seriously damaged and, although i was able to drive it to the parking lot at my nearby office, i do not expect to repair it or, of course, to ever drive it again.when chrysler customer service was called by my wife after one of the earlier acceleration events, they told her there was no recall or record of similar complaints and to take the car to a dealer.
7 times since purchasing my car new the rear window defroster has boken loose from the glass , causing the rear window defroster to not function.causing no visibility out the rear window of the vehicle.when repaird repair last around 3 days and then breakes again. Causing no visibility out the rear wqindow during this condition.
The rear window defroster does not work.
The driver's side windows leak during a rain.i have had this supposedly fixed 3 times and just took it back in again.the floor on the rear of the driver's side gets soaked, but not the passenger side.
Dt*: the contact stated the chrome on the wheels flake off.as a result, there is a loss of air.when this first occurred air was added once a week now air must be added daily.this occurs on all four wheels however the rear is worse.the vehicle was taken to the dealership a couple of years ago under warranty and something was added around the wheels to seal off the leak.since this the tires were replaced and rotated.the dealership has not been alerted again.
The consumer noticed that the vehicle's rear tires were losing air constantly.the consumer took the vehicle in for servicing and found that the chrome wheels were crumbling causing air leakage.all of the chrome wheels on the vehicle needed replacement.*la
