Takata recall 16v-668 dated october 01, 2016 still incomplete with no repair parts available!!! what is a "reasonable time" to wait for such an unsafe vehicle condition to be repaired???

I have experienced steering problems and an airbag light on since i purchased this used 2010 sebring in june 2013 atthe "naples dodge/chrysler" dealership.the car had/has popping creaking noises that came from the front end.i did some research and found out that chrysler has recalls on 2010 sebrings regarding the power steering (nhtsa campaign # 10va75000). I took into be checked.the naples dodge service manager told me that my car model was not involved with the recall.naples dodge did find a problem with the steering and replaced the steering gear, rack and pinion and adjusted the toe and alignment.the used car warranty paid for it except for my $50 deductible.since this repair the airbag light remains on.i was told by the dealer serviceman that the light would go off after a while.it has never gone off.i had it checked twice and have been given two opinions on the air bag light. 1.it's ok ignore it2.i have no airbag protection. I trust #2 mechanic and feel unsafe in this car, unlike any of the cars i've had in the past 45 years. To this daythe steering feels funny, makes little popping noises, and the light is still on and chrysler has a new recall for airbags (nhtsa 14v35400).lets see if the dodge/chrysler dealership takes any responsibility? i have had numerous expensive repairs with this 2010 sebring. I used to own a 2005 sebring and i had few problems and loved the car.since fiat took over chrysler there are numerous complaints, according to mechanics and the general public.i believe the car has been engineered to fail.i have about $4,000 in repairs to prove it.i will never buy a chrysler again.

I passed a vehicle on a 2 lane highway.when my engine accelerated suddenly it began sputtering and missing badly.i took it to my local trusted mechanic.he said the gaskets were rotten and oil got into the cylinders.he said that this dry rotting of rubber stuff is a common problem he sees in chrysler.he replaced valve cover gaskets and grommets, ignition coil, and spark plugs.i have also had a popping noise in the front end.he found a defective front wheel bearing, wheel speed abs sensor.my cost $1,328.i have more nightmares about this car.i will never buy another chrysler.

Further to my last email dated 7/8/2012 which was assigned odi number 10523670. I wish to advise that as of this date, i have not been able to be told what the mechanic diagnosis is?, even though i have made repeated follow-up calls as suggested by various service personnel, 1. [xxx], 2.[xxx] and 3.[xxx] at soutars dodge dealership, 631 west main st, barstow, ca 92311, ph 760-256-3502. They all promised to get back to me but never did. My last call on tues, 07/09/2013 in the afternoon, i spoke with [xxx] who first attended to me on tues 7/2/2013 when the car was towed in from baker, ca and left for warranty repair, etc,he told me that the mechanic tried 4 freeze plugs which did not work and they are waiting on a fifth one which will hopefully will work. Note: the first mechanic in baker, ca who checked the car there ,told me that he ordered, received and tried a freeze plug using all of the details pertaining to the manufacture specifications but that did not work because it was too small. [xxx] at the dealership service also told me on thue 07/09/2013,that the last 4 freeze plugs that they ordered and tried using were too small. How and why this is happening, i am finding it hard to understand?. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The air conditioner freeze plug, rubber part melted and blew out from the engine. I have saved it.. I was told by a mechanic that the type of plug with rubber could cause continuous blowout and that should not happen based on the 18,428 miles that was on the car which was purchased new on 12/24/2011 with 63 miles on the odometer at the time. Fortunately, the car basic warranty is still valid to help with the repair cost after towing it to a chrysler dealership that is an authorized warranty repair shop. Note: i left the car for repair on tues, july 2, 2013 but as of today monday, july 8th, 2013, i have not been able to get a diagnosis from the dealership repair shop. I have called on several occasions but was told that their mechanic shop is shortstaff and i have to wait until they can get to check the car when there are enough mechanics to attend to all of the pending repairs on the cars that are waiting for service at this time.

Air conditioning condenser damaged by projectile through the front bumper.my ac stopped blowing cool suddenly, while on vacation.i had it recharged a few weeks earlier and things were fine.a master mechanic told me that the condenser was pierced by an object like a rock, which flew through the ungrilled holes in the front bumper. He said chrysler designed the ac condenser to fit behind and below the radiator and did not design a grill to protect it.he made fun of italians (fiat) who do not know how to engineer cars.my cost to replace the condenser and refill the coolant was $716.i will never buy another chrysler.

Since i purchased this car in 2013 the front end makes a lot of popping creaking noises in the front end(not the engine).the local dodge chrysler dealer in naples fl. Could not figure it out.my local mechanic, whom i trusted for 18 years found that the wheel bearing int he front passenger side is faulty and this affects the brakes too.he replaced the front bearing (inner and outer bearings, cups, and repack).he removed and replaced both front end wheel speed abs sensors.my cost approx $500.

I have a 2010 sebring convertible touring that just had the brakes completly replaced from the calipers to the rotors. When the brakes are applied, there is a vibration that was present prior to the replacement. Despite still being a new brake system, it still vibrates. The vibration will cease if you brake hard.

The contact owns a 2010 chrysler sebring convertible. The contact stated that when accessing the driver or passenger interior or exterior doors, the window glass would release either upward or downward within an inch or less. In cold weather temperatures the interior doors would not close securely due to the window glass extending inches beyond the edge of the roof and required the occupant to manually hold the door when the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer six times for the problem. There were several unknown repairs performed to the vehicle but to no avail. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was a manufacturer's defect and there was not a remedy available that would correct the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
