On interstate highway left lane at 65mph, check engine light comes on, red plug-in light comes on, and car slows to a stop in lane.car does not turn back on after several attempts.after five minutes, car starts again.check engine light remains on.stalling recall not found for this vin, but is in manufacture date range of recall.

This van was purchased by a dealer with approximately 23,000 miles. It was sold to a retail customer and the following day it caught on fire in the customers garage. We had it towed to a chrysler dealership and chrysler said they would not accept any responsibility for fire, even though the vehicle is clearly under bumper to bumper warranty. After leaving it there while trying to get chrysler to fix it we finally sent a tow truck to pick it up. The tow truck driver got in the vehicle to put it in neutral and it caught on fire again. The entire front end of the vehicle is burner/melted and chrysler refuses to look at it or repair it under warranty.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that on various occasions, the vehicle accelerated independently when the brake pedal was depressed. The failure occurred intermittently without warning. The brake pedal was disengaged and then re-engaged to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that an abnormal sound emitted from underneath the front passenger's side of the vehicle. The contact stated that several electrical features including the radio operated independently. The vehicle was taken to falls motor city (4100 state rd, cuyahoga falls, oh 44223) however, no additional assistance was provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 900.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. While driving approximately 45 mph, the "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" message illuminated. The vehicle was taken to bob allen motor mall (859-236-3217, located at 725 n maple ave, danville, ky 40422) where it was diagnosed that the relay switch was stuck. The part was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the auxiliary battery was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The case manager promised to call the contact back, but the contact had not received a call. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 12,700.

U connect / radio / backup camera / temperature control system freezes causes lack of control of temperature controls, no backup camera no controls in the radio/attached systems.operator must turn off vehicle and or complete a soft restart.

My wife was driving home and the car was shuddering and intermittently accelerating.she got back to the house and smelt a burnt rubber smell.when in my driveway the vehicle had a hard time turning over and the engine would knock and shut off while still in park. It had to be towed to the dealership for further evaluation

I have been driving a new pacifica for over a week now and i know the electronic start/stop system is junk overall.on a few occasions, it seems the engine re-engages with a shudder and has delayed us from getting onto a road which is a safety problem with traffic behind me or getting into traffic flow.this feature should have an ability to be permanently disabled by the owner if unwanted instead of having to press a button each time the car starts. We press the button every time, but the fact we have to press this every time we start the pacifica is irritating.honestly, the ess system seems to be faulty in implementation.

The navigation system in the vehicle showed an incorrect location by several hundred miles. I took the vehicle in for warranty service and the dealer attempted to perform an update. According to the dealer the update failed and they would need to contact chrysler for repair. I have contacted fca multiple times with no response. I now have no radio whatsoever, no climate system, no backup camera or any other features that operate thru the radio touchscreen.

Both batteries have failed twice within a 4 month period. First time it failed to start and gave a warning. Second time the vehicle failed during operation on a public road without any warning and would not restart.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 20v334000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Westbury jeep chrysler dodge ram service & parts (111 bond st, westbury, ny 11590, (516) 336-4788) was contacted and confirmed that parts were not available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Smoke and foul rotten egg smell coming from driver rear quarter panel where battery sits. Fire department came out and removed paneling and battery was found to be extremely overheated. Vehicle was plugged in charging when this courted in our garage. I immediately unplugged it and called 911

The uconnect infotainment system which controls the the radio, air temperature, seat and steering wheel warmers, and many other functions of the car will randomly go blank and the electrical components of the car cannot be controlled.this can happen in the middle of driving without warning and is distracting, but even worse takes control of the vehicle away from the driver.drivers can become distracted when the uconnect system malfunctions, taking their eyes off the road and increasing the risk of the crash. They may also lose access to safety features such as the back-up camera and hands-free phone use.sometimes the problem resolves if turn vehicle off, sometimes the fuses have to be pulled, and sometimes the vehicle has to go to the dealer.chrysler has not addressed this issue properly with software updates as it keeps happening.here is a list of components that will not work when uconnect radio goes blank:- gps and navigation system keeps turning on and off, or doesnā€™t work at all- rear-view backup camera doesnā€™t work when reversing, or stays on when the car is in forward motion- uconnect theater system doesnā€™t work properly (no radio, rear dvd, music, etc.)- climate control isnā€™t responsive- heated seats donā€™t work or are ā€œstuck onā€¯- loss of bluetooth connectivity, which is necessary for hands-free calling- tv monitors fail to turn on, connect and/or sync with the uconnect system there are currently class action lawsuits on this matter. Https://www.classaction.org/chrysler-pacifica-uconnect-screen-camera-gps-theater-lawsuitsplease hold fca accountable to get a proper fix out to stop this issue.i have personally experienced this problem multiple times and have been to the dealer twice to try different firmware updates and still have problem.i am not alone in dealing with this issue as many on forums and discussion groups have shared the same problems.

The steering wheel pulls to the right or to the left while driving at highway speeds. Happens randomly ' never know when it will turn in either direction. When driving at 60-65 and passing a slower vehicle, it often requires firmly guiding the car against resistance back to the lane.requires driving while grasping the steering wheel firmly to prevent the vehicle from veering from its path. Will also occur at lower speeds but not as often. Also, when driving on an expressway the steering, sometimes but not every time, becomes unstable if a truck passes it. In those instances, it veers to either the right or the left. The concern is that it could veer directly into the passing vehicle if the driver is less than alert and not firmly grasping the steering wheel. During a lifetime of driving, i have never before experienced a vehicle that felt as dangerous as this one.i took it to the dealer who proclaimed it in perfect running order. I filed a complaint with the chrysler (case number 58533009) and was advised to take it back to the dealer and try to convince them to take it on a test drive. However, the dealer said they test drove it, which is doubtful since the mileage number did not change while it was in their hands. The dealer highlighted a comment on a report titled 08-electrical/be-electronic control modules/module, electric power steering (epsm)/description and operation that reads:variable servo steering: when the speed of the vehicle is increased, the module reduces the amount of assistance to the column. Possibly chrysler, in that statement is revealing that the steering mechanism is unsafe at highway speeds.

A message keeps coming on " service shifter". The vehicle was taken to service, still comes up. Happens when stationary and in motion.

2019 chrysler pacifica hybrid minivan failed to start in cold weather (below 24f) 5 times to date. Dealership replaced the 12v battery saying the issue has been fixed. But again in a cold day when weather was 19f, the minivan did not start and showed many errors on screen.the minivan is at the dealership for the second time. Looks like this is a common problem across multiple customers, pacifica forums has folks complaining about the same issue.

The vehicle stalls out while actively driving it down the road on a city street. The vehicle stops mid driving, immediately shuts off, loses all power, and engages park by itself. The vehicle then fails to restart and leaves driver stranded in unsafe conditions. Happened the first time driving 40mph down a city road. Driver was almost rear ended. After 20 mins driver was able to get it started again only to have it happen half a mile down the road. Had the vehicle towed by chrysler to the nearest dealership. They found no stored errors and said nothing was wrong. They installed a flight recorder in the vehicle and we picked it up yesterday. 10 miles away from the dealership while driving on another city road the vehicle again shut itself off while driving, had a complete loss of power, and locked itself into park mode and wouldn't restart. This time had my entire family and two young children in the car trapped in the middle on a busy intersection. Vehicle was then towed again to the same dealership and they claim the flight recorder didn't pick up anything. A claim has been opened up with fca headquarters and again no one is assisting in this issue. This is a huge safety concern and needs to be addressed.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that she locked the key fob inside the vehicle with her children inside. The contact stated that the vehicle had a feature that allowed her to enter the vehicle by pressing a button on the sliding doors when the key fob was inside; however, the button failed to operate. The contact's daughter attempted to unlock the door on the driver's side; however, the unlock button also failed to operate. The contact notified the fire department and they were able to safely remove the children from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated or injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The hands-free and bluetooth feature of my radio stopped working 3 months ago. I have been in to chrysler service in fort collins five times to have it fixed. The last time was two weeks ago and they said they were going to just order a new radio. I still haven't heard anything from them. The service manager, bob lee, says it's chrysler's fault. I just want this thing fixed. 3 months is just ridiculous. This is as much a safety problem as it is an inconvenience.

Car subject to recall for malfunctioning rear camera (ve-2 is code)during repair, touchscreen rendered inoperable. Now, camera doesn't work at all, most controls require use of touch screen which no longer works.car had no issue before recall, no no backup camera and repairs are expected to take at least 6 weeks due to claimed lack of parts.

Purchased 2019 chrysler pacifica limited in july 2020 with just over 30,000 miles on it. Last week the master cylinder for the braking system started to act up. When sitting at a stop light/sign the brakes start to make a loud hissing sound and push back against my foot forcing me to push the peddle all the way to the floor with more force then should be needed. This causes the breaks to disengage and the van rolls. I am forced to put the van in park at stop lights so i will not roll into traffic or vehicles in front of me when i am supposed to be stopped. Sometimes i am on a decline or even just sitting on a straight away waiting at a stoplight/sign. This is a major safety issue as i have my kids in the vehicle 90% of the time. I am not the only person with this same issue that i have seen on the forums and nhtsa this needs to be addressed.

Lane sense behaves erratically in certain circumstances; alerts loudly and request hands be placed on the steering wheel when they are already on the wheel and am traveling safely within a lane; no lane changes. Has alerted in driveway as well and alerted for service. Took to dealer and they could not replicated or determine problem. They provided informational flyer on lane sense but it does not match reported conditions/alerts i received on auto's console. Consistently fails and behaves erratically going northbound on golden gate bridge - in all lanes and on multiple occurrences. Occurs in various environmental conditions from fog, clear day, rain, etc.occurs in motion and when car has been still/stopped (in driveway.) system alerts and then automatically deactivates itself. I don't know that manufacturer and dealers have full understanding of behavior; especially the detection of what the car believes are no hands on the steering wheel/feedback torque.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. While at an intersection, the vehicle stalled while the accelerator pedal was depressed. When the contact depressed the accelerator pedal again, the vehicle returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to victor chrysler dodge jeep ram (6560 anthony dr, victor, ny 14564, (585) 381-5337) to be diagnosed, but a failure was not located. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,200..consumer stated there is acorrection - when trying to accelerate into traffic the accelerator did not respond then all of sudden surged forward. This has occurred 3 times.

While driving car on city street started to hesitate withpower, so pulled off road and put in park.then was unable to take car out of park or shift in any way. Blue light just flashed.wasn't able to shut the car off and the car had to be towed to the dealer while still running.message said 'transmission".this happened twice with the first occurence being just shortly after purchase.vehicle has been at dealer for 44 days and is still not fixed.

Car is not accelerating properly, hesitation when acceleratingwhen driving at high speeds, jerking and spitting from the car. Vibration when it is idling at a stop sign or light.

Pacifica hybrid, two incidents: first was on freeway, fast lane, driving normally with active cruise control. The car suddenly shut down all acceleration and slowed. I was able to press the brake and stop. The front console lit up with many warnings including the frontal collision warnings.i was not close to car in front of me but a motorcycle had split lane passed me very closely and cut in. I had to power off my car and start it twice before it would go forward. I took car for service, chrysler dealer found nothing wrong, replaced a computer module, gave it back.less than one week later, the car again suddenly lost acceleration and braked. Same large set of warnings appeared. But this time the car didn't allow me to press the brakes. I was traveling on city streets less than 30 mph but had lost all acceleration and braking control of the vehicle and continued to roll into an intersection at about 7mph.the brake pedal literally pushed back against my foot. I gave it back to chrysler dealership where it's been ever since. Car has 1100 miles on it purchased july 14th, registration on 7/16. Approximately 300 miles of the car was the dealership service department trying to replicate the issue.now chrysler corporate cares is telling me it's still under diagnosis (car hasn't even been turned on in more than 10 days) and that the only way i would get resolution is through arbitration "a free service". My vehicle is currently waiting for chrysler star (highest level engineering) to even get to the case.i wanted to report the safety issue with the resolution steps for people to follow but unfortunately i can't. Chrysler might even try to give this vehicle back to me again (which i don't want). Note: dealership has been very stand-up. The problem is chrysler corporate.

My vehicle stalls and rolled back three times since purchasing it near the end of august. I know the engine is in idle mode during a stop or stoplight to save on emissions, but the transition from idle to restart when pressing on the gas pedal is not seamless. In fact, it is loud and has rolled back a foot when on changing from brakes to gas pedal.

Could not start chrysler pacifica for one hour friday morning.finally starting, the engine shut down while moving at low speed approaching a light (at time thought it was the gas saving feature) and was very difficult to start.drove it to dealer monday, after a very difficult start for a fix yesterday.dealer could not duplicate problem so i drove home, parked, and today it would not start.i had to have it towed back to dealer.concerned engine could shut down at speed locking controls.as cause is unknown, i believe this is a safety issue for chrysler and a heads-up to the nhtsa.the problem began with about 150 miles on the odometer and the van now has about 475 miles. *dtupdated 11/30/18

Countless episodes when on slippery conditions and using regenerative braking, usually going down a hill trying to maintain speed with steady moderate break pedal pressure. When i encounter these slippery conditions the regenerative brakes rapidly decrease their force (or entirely loose braking) for about 1 second. If i am on a longer stretch of slippery conditions (packed snow, ice) then this repeats at about 1 second intervals. This has occurred at speeds ranging from 10-35 mph. If i press harder the abs kicks in, because the occurs on steep hills, instead of maintaining speed or slowing down, the effect of gravity leads to an acceleration.

As i was driving on a city street and applied the brakes the car suddenly stopped and completely shut off the engine and shut down. Unable to start the car after a few attempts it finally started again, went a few more feet and then completely shut down and the vehicle turned off again, in the middle of the road. The car began to smoke from the front and there was a strong smell of gas. A pedestrian came over and told me not to attempt to start the car again because there was gasoline leaking from the bottom of the car. I had my children in the car with me at the time and so we all had to hop out in a panic and i went inside a nearby coffee shop to call the police, insurance co and a towing service. As i mentioned the car was in the middle of the road, which was a danger to drivers passing by and to myself, all i could see was gasoline pouring out of the car. When the tow truck took the vehicle to a chrysler dealership service, they informed me that the clamp from the fuel line somehow came off and this was "a one in a million chance of happening to anyone". They offered me no explanation as to why this occurred and offered me nothing to ease my worry of this happening again in the future. I would like to point out that we purchased this as a new vehicle and it was still under warranty. Nonetheless a concerning issue as this could have caused a fire or explosion with me and my 3 children in the van. Thank you for taking the time to read this, please see attachments fo the documentation from the dealership.

First day we purchased the vehicle, the engine light went on and the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. Two weeks later the vehicle kept stalling, and eventually came to a complete stop. Four weeks of purchase, our car begans stalling again and our engine light is back on. Tech says "the car fixed itself". The engine light is back on again.

My wife was driving home and the car was shuddering and intermittently accelerating.she got back to the house and smelt a burnt rubber smell.when in my driveway the vehicle had a hard time turning over and the engine would knock and shut off while still in park. This involves a 2019 chrysler pacifica plug-in hybrid. While traveling at 80 mph with dynamic cruise control engaged, the vehicle suddenly lost all propulsion. The internal combustion engine was off, and no power came from the electric motor. The air conditioning also turned off. Despite pressing the accelerator, there was no power at all. The vehicle was only coasting, and lost speed rapidly. Despite losing propulsion, i never felt like i lost brakes or steering. Despite this, i felt very unsafe as i was traveling at highway speed in the middle of an interstate when this occurred. The display alternated between two messages. One stated i needed to shift to 'p' and press the start button (the vehicle was still in motion). The second message stated there was a fault in the hybrid charging system. Once stopped on the shoulder, i shifted to park and pressed the start button while pressing the brake pedal (the normal process to start the vehicle). The dashboard, infotainment system, and window control appeared to power-cycle, but neither the vehicle nor the air conditioning would start. The dashboard continued to display a message saying a charging system failure had occurred. After 45 minutes of repeatedly trying to start the car by pressing the brake and pushing the start button. I tried just pressing the start button without pressing the brake. The car shut all the way off, and after waiting a moment, i was able to start the car by pressing the brake and then pushing the start button. Once started, the vehicle then ran normally except for a check engine light. Five days prior to this incident, a chrysler dealer performed the repair for recall nhtsa 19v-886, and the initial inspection for recall nhtsa 20v-334.

There is a hissing sound and it feels as if air pressure is building up in the brake line which is pushing against my foot is on the brake pedal, allowing the vehicle to accelerate slowly when it should be stopped.

Smoke and foul rotten egg smell coming from driver rear quarter panel where battery sits. Fire department came out and removed paneling and battery was found to be extremely overheated. Vehicle was plugged in charging when this courted in our garage. I immediately unplugged it and called 911

The car was stationary. I turned on the ignition, engine check light blew. Took it to nearest chrysler dealership, and they found the auxiliary pump for heating the hybrid system was malfunctioning. They said the minivan is not fit to drive until fixed. The van ran for just 1800 miles, i purchased it new just a month ago from dealership. The repairs are covered under warranty.

Van is new, (8/30/2019) under 1000 miles. Problem has happened approximately 12 times. When stepping on the accelerator from a stop, there is no response. Suddenly there is a sudden, harsh acceleration. This is a hazard in traffic with other vehicles around. Backing in my driveway i almost hit the house.

Car is not accelerating properly, hesitation when acceleratingwhen driving at high speeds, jerking and spitting from the car. Vibration when it is idling at a stop sign or light.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the tailgate safety latch failed to open and the contact was trapped for 45 minutes. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to button chrysler jeep dodge ram (1220 e blvd st, kokomo, in 46902, (765) 360-4063), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 100,000. The vin was not available.

My vehicle at 28,k plus miles i noticed it seemed to slip. This would happen intermittently. I thought i was imagining it at first. Then it started to do a more violent jerking. The dealership did a reset. It started doing it a week later, and intermittently. I was also in the dealership because i was hearing a clunking noise in the rear when driving over uneven pavement, or backing out of my driveway. I have been waiting two months for rear struts to fix the issue. Vehicle sounds getting progressively worse and i'm concerned about driving. Today the rear struts wear promised to arrive. I was just told they will arrive sept 10, 2021. Three days ago, an alert symbol popped onto my dash screen -a yellow circle with an a inside followed by an exclamation mark. I am bringing my vehicle in on august 30, 2021. The dealer said i need to have the battery charged!? they are also going to reset the transmission slipping program, again. Are other 2019 vehicles having the same issues?

The vehicle jerks (hesitates)while accelerating from a start to about 37 mph.suspect gears 1-4.have been to dealership 7 times since i purchased the new vehicle.have had valve body replaced, adaptations reset, even the radio was replaced already.vehicle now has 1000 miles on it and still has issues.the dealership service has tried everything they can aside from replacing the transmission.the zf 9 transmission is the problem and chrysler (fca) has refused to fix the problem as they continue to get many many complaints.

Transmission will only go into 9th gear and engage at speeds up to 61 mph, if it downshifts to go up a hill it will never ever go back into 9th gear again unless you slow down to 61 mph then slowly accelerate to get it to stay in 9th top gear? i took it to chrysler dealer and they said well you might never see 9th gear that's how they run. This is not acceptable, chrsyler needs a update to its programming for better shifts...

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica hybrid. While driving 73 mph, the "stop safely, the vehicle will shut off soon" warning message appeared. The contact parked the vehicle on the side of the road before the ignition turned off. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed to jimmy britt chevrolet buick gmc (located at 1011 town creek blvd, greensboro, ga 30642, (706) 453-2500) where it was diagnosed that the abs control module and transmission needed to be replaced. There were also 113 error codes. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 730.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. While the vehicle was stationary at a stop sign, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. In addition, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to clemons chrysler dodge jeep (1601 a ave w, oskaloosa, ia 52577,(641) 673-3447) where it was diagnosed that the axle rods needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the contact was informed that fluid was leaking and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000. The vin was unknown.

While my wife was sitting in the car with the car running in park the car began to go in reverse and it started to accelerate and brakes didnt work and car crashed into a fence and shed.multiple witnesses confirmed her account as she had window down and was screaming with her hands in the air. Once car came to a stop it was confirmed that car was in park.very scary.

Vehicle hesitates from gears 1-4 jerking through each gear.have had valve body replaced not fixed.have been to dealer 7 times and was told this is the way it is.purchased the vehicle new and was reported immediately no offer of money back.

The third row bench seems easily capable of popping off its attachment to the floor with a bit of pressure.when we installed our baby car seat in the third row for the first time, we locked it in place with the seat belt and then tightened the seat into place by using the electric recline to squeeze some extra room and make sure there was no give. At some point we tightened the recline too much and the base of the whole third row popped off of the floor. Everything seemed fine once we started over and reset the seat in place. I also disconnected the power recline button in that row so that our son wouldn't be able to re-create that issue.however, a few weeks ago my wife was putting some large items in the car and she was trying to put down the third row passenger seat using the recline buttons in the trunk. She accidentally pushed the recline button for the half of the row the baby car seat is in instead of the side of the row with an empty seat. Again, the whole third row popped apart from the floor at its base. To fix it i uninstalled the car seat and then reinstalled the third row bench and then the car seat again.this second incident got me wondering how much pressure it takes for the third row to detach from the floor? i'm concerned that in an accident the whole back of the car would become very dangerous and seat belts and car seats would do little to protect anyone from a floating bench. By putting the car seat in place and tightening the recline we must be putting a lot of pressure on the floor attachments and any added pressure potentially pulls it right off. The contact rented a 2019 chrysler pacifica. While the contact's eight year old daughter was seat belted in the rear driver's side seat, the seat belt seized into the lock. The contact had to use scissors to cut the seat belt. Also, the rear passenger side seat belt failed to engage when the brake pedal was depressed abruptly. The contact was able to stand with the seat belt operating as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was returned to hertz (located at the orlando international airport, 1 airport blvd, orlando, fl 32812, (407) 859-8400) and the contact was informed that the seat belt would be replaced. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,196. The vin was not available.

My 4 year old son was playing in the right rear seat. He apparently pushed the button that folds the seats. We had our backs turned. When we turned around the seat was starting to crush him. There was no immediate way to reverse the seat closing. We had to let it close then fold it down. Then we pushed the button to move the seat back up again after we figured out how to do this. He was not permanently injured as far as we know but was very frightened. A different sized child could be injured badly. Also if we were immediately available to help he could have been trapped for a long time. The vehicle was stationary in a lot at that time with the ignition off. *dt *dtvehical was a rental car and did not knw all the features.

Chrysler refuses to acknowledge or help with finding carseats that fit forward facing in their middle row captains stow and go seats due to the extreme tilt their second row headrests have which are non removable in the second row of the van. Hence most people are unknowingly installing their carseats incorrectly braced against the headrests or have them pushing the carseat headrest forward which almost all car sear manufactures do not allow.this is a safety issue for so many children and even going to cpsts may not help as it basically forces the consumer to buy new seats which they may not be able to afford so they likely will not and will continue using the unsafe car seat.

The van's brakes failed on 8/4/21.i had my foot on the brake pedal at a stoplight behind other cars.my car moved forward.it didn't initially respond to my pressing harder and i thought i'd crash.brakes hissed, then dropped lower to the floor.i pushed harder.the van stopped & i put on the parking brake.i had one episode a few days prior where i felt brake was slow to respond and heard hissing noise.i had the car towed to the dealer as i was afraid if the brakes failed again i would cause an accident or roll into oncoming traffic at a stoplight.

Ever since i have had this car the brakes have been an issue. I can step on the brake at a stop light and then the brakes push back at me and make a hissing sound as it happens. Then i try to push it back down and it won't allow me to and it starts to move. It has happened several times so every time is happens i just have to put the car in park until the light turns green.

When driving andi press on the brakes there is a 'air ' sound and it does not brake right away. If i'm in a bit of a hill and i have the brakes pressed it will give out and start rolling back and i have to press it all the way in which makes an ugly sound and it stops after a bit. If i have to suddenly stop to not hit a child and i press on the brakes it will still go on for a while. I took it to get brakes checked and was told the brakes are good, almost new. I have four kids and this is extremely scary. I need help this has been going on for about 2 weeks. What could possibly be wrong?

Tried stopping for a red light and brakes did not respond. I was in the right lane. Van seamed to speed up. Got into right turn lane and van slowed down but still not stopping. Hit car in front, luckily no damage to either vehicle.

While driving on highway, brakes did not respond quickly and vehicle did not slow down. I had to stand on the brake to get the car to stop. This repeated itself multiple times over the next few days and is ongoing. There is a hissing sound like there is some air system at work and the break pushes back at your feet while breaking. Called the local dealer who did not have an appointment for several weeks. Dealer claims there is no known issue. But online and there are dozens of complaints and here on the nhtsa website there are over 25 complaints about this issue.

The brake booster has failed making it extremely difficult to drive and dangerous according to the local dodge dealership these parts have been on backorder for 2 months now

When braking, the brakes will fail to engage and pumping the brakes is required to stop.when the brake is depressed at a light, the brakes will release, causing the car to start forward without pressing the gas pedal.the brake booster in abs system is defective and on national back order.no recalls in place, but driving safety is severely compromised.

It has happened several times so every time is happens i just have to put the car in park until the light turns green.

The power brake booster leaks, which causes the brakes to become inoperable. This despite the vehicle only being one year old. This defect has been discussed on numerous chrysler pacifica messaging boards and could present a serious danger to unknowing drivers. We experienced a brake failing while going approximately 40 miles per hour on a street. The brakes became extremely hard, forcing driver to put all her weight down to stop the vehicle. The vehicle is being repaired at a cost of $442, though the replacement part is on backorder and will not be received for three weeks after taking the car in for inspection.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. While driving various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to schumacher chrysler dodge jeep ram of delray (2102 federal hwy suite a, delray beach, fl 33483, (561) 935-4210) where it was diagnosed that the braking system needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 10,000.

On numerous occasions the van has lost brake function. I can slowly be coming to a stop and press brakes all the way to the floor and i'm still coasting.very scary.however today took the cake. I was leaving a steep driveway and it happened, i panicked and tried to apply the parking break but it did not help. Praise the lord a car wasnt coming bc i coasted right on into the road. We will likely have to get it in shop bc this is getting very dangerous and we have 4 kids in tow. Please recall this

My 2019 chrysler pacifica has begun shuttering at stops.the vehicle has just over 12,000 miles and is only 18 months old.i took it the dealership and was told that the pads are fine but the rotors are completely rusted and must be replaced. I was told the vehicle is no longer safe to drive long distances.information published by chrysler indicates that rotors should last 40,000 to 80,000 miles. This car has been kept in a garage the entire time i have owned it when it was not being driven.i think it is clear that the rotors were made of defective material.although the dealership told me the car is no longer safe to drive long distances, yet i cannot afford to pay $1,000 out of pocket to have the rotors and pads replaced.i am reporting this so an investigation can be done into the materials chrysler used to produce these rotors.a recall may need to be considered.

Slowing for a red light travelling approximately 35 miles an hour. Brake pedal was depressed and suddenly lost pressure/pedal went to the floor with a hissing sound as if there was a compressed air line.car rolled through intersectionwith myself and two children on board.luckily we were not hit by oncoming cross lane traffic.afterwards there was overtly strong brake pedal force with more air hissing, pushing foot and pedal towards driver. Release pedal and pumping the brake resumed normal pressure.in discussing with chrysler tech this appears to be a brake booster failure due to contamination from vacuum line. Car has no cel's or related warning indicators for brake system.

Master cylinder failed with approximately 4,300 miles on the car (purchased in april 2019, failed september 2019).dealer reported it was a "known issue" but no service bulletin or recall has been issued.no brake warning light or code thrown.only discovered because owner suspected concern with brakes.

The vehicle would not stop whenever i pressed the brake pedal. It felt hard and did not respond. Much like other complaints on this website, the pedal made a hissing sound whenever it came up. The power brake system is being looked at and is a common problem. A recall on this system clearly needs to occur before someone dies. Could not stop at stoplight without pumping brakes and could not stop in driveway without hitting my other vehicle entirely. Highly recommend a different vehicle until this system is recalled because of how often this occurs

There is a hissing sound and it feels as if air pressure is building up in the brake line which is pushing against my foot is on the brake pedal, allowing the vehicle to accelerate slowly when it should be stopped.

The vehicle suffered from lack of brake power both athigh speed and low speed.the brake pedal felt very hard (almost like it was at a hard stop) but did not go to the floor, the brake effectiveness seemed to be very low. At high speed the vehicle hardly seemed to slow, at low speed the vehicle rolled past a stop sign.noticed a loud hissing noise from underneath the dash when pedal was pressed past a certain point.took vehicle to dealer in fort collins - they told me the brake booster needed replacing. This was out of stock and rather surprisingly i was told i could drive the vehicle until the part arrived (expected in 7-10 days). I was very surprised that the vehicle would be released back to me with this defect. I declined saying i thought the fault was serious since it affected braking efficiency.

My brakes were hissing when pressed and started squealing. Shortly after this when i tried to stop i came inches from hitting the car in front of me. I have also noticed when this is happening the auto shut off feature is not working. My dealer canā€™t even look at my car for a couple of weeks to see what may be causing the issue. I have seen reports of others having this issue as well which is a huge safety concern.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 35 mph, the brake pedal failed to operate as needed without warning. The contact was able to swerve past the vehicle in front of her and stop on the side of the road. The contact's wife parked the vehicle in a parking lot and the contact picked up the vehicle and drove it home. The contact had taken the vehicle to several independent mechanics for estimates on a repair. One mechanic informed him that the vehicle was still under warranty and had to be repaired by a dealer. The contact then had the vehicle towed to a dealer where he was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a brake booster contamination that needed replacement. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

2019 chrysler pacifica. Uncontrolled steering wheel. *ld the consumer stated the steering wheel jumps to the left or right. The failure caused the consumer to crash into a large rock damaging the front end of the vehicle.

The steering wheel is pointed to the left all the time.

Driving down the highway in normal weather conditions and the passenger front window just exploded, completely shattered and came into the van, glass got all over my passengers.there was no rock or object that hit the window.

Large leak in the left rear of the vehicle. Water came in from a currently unknown area and ran into all the crevices between the inside panels on the left side. Settled into the cubbies on the left side. And soaked the carpet in the back. Only owned the vehicle for 10 days when this happened. A large rain storm came through on saturday water; noticed the water sunday morning. Did some driving around saturday during the rain storm but did not notice the water. Not sure if the water was coming in during the driving or after being parked. It was raining all day and night.

When opening passenger side back sliding door, it does not stay in the open position and slides forward and closes.it is very dangerous as children can get caught up in between.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the sensors for both passenger side sliding doors failed to function properly. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact reached into the vehicle to retrieve her phone while the sliding doors were closing. The door sensors did not recognize her hand and it was crushed by the sliding door. The contact had to manually force the door open to rescue her hand from the vehicle. Medical attention was not received. The contact tested both sliding doors and found that neither of the door sensors functioned correctly. The contact was concerned for her and her children's safety. The contact posted a complaint on facebook regarding the failure. A chrysler representative online reached out to her and asked for her vin, but no further assistance was offered since that interaction. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 500. *dt

A vehicle fire may increase the risk of injury to occupants and persons outside of the vehicle, as well as property damage per the safety recall letter i received from chrysler.12-volt isolator post connection safety issue. No remedy is currently available.

The sliding doors and the trunk door opened at the same time when no door/trunk open buttons were pressed. This is the 2nd time it happened. First time in the chrysler showroom and 2nd at a parking lot, both time when the car was not in motion. The car was started, reverse gear was applied and all the sliding and trunk doors opened at the same time with passengers inside.

Sxm radio alerts favorites are 'on air'. Upon clicking alert the menu is empty of favorites. Error message : no favorites currently on air. Favorites are 'on air' yet the radio cannot display them.

Smoke and foul rotten egg smell coming from driver rear quarter panel where battery sits. Fire department came out and removed paneling and battery was found to be extremely overheated. Vehicle was plugged in charging when this courted in our garage. I immediately unplugged it and called 911

The radio does not hold any presets after you change drivers.so when driver one(1) has the seat, mirrors, radio, etc set for them all they have to do is press "1" when they get in, and "2" is presently set.it should hold so we don't have to go through it every time you get in.this is not what happens, i have to reset things because it is lost and goes back to factory settings.chrysler knows about this problem and they have no fix.i would like my computer system replaced to fix this problem.they said i have to wait for an update, this is not something i should have to live with.

A serious safety issue exists with electric sliding and raise/lower tail gate doors.this is my third chrysler pacific, 2014, 2017, and now 2019.on this 2019, it does haveone door, the driver side slider, that has a warning buzzer if left open when the vehicle drive is engaged, and only when the vehicle attempts to move in reverse. That warning does not exist if the vehicle is driven forward and it does not exist at all for the passenger side slider.so many times, we inadvertently and unknowingly drive off with sliders open and/or tail gate open. This is a serious design flaw with the danger of items unknowingly falling out while traveling. It is possible that children or animals could fall out. The vehicle should never be able to be driven if either slider is open.nor should the car be able to be driven with the tail gate door open. While there could be an occasion with the customer might intentionally need to have the tail door open to accommodate and over-length item, there should be a by-pass switch with a continuously lit warning light on the dash.to combat driving with the tailgate door open, we have placed several narrow vertical strips of take on the back window to alert the driver. Without that tape it is almost impossible for the driver to be aware of the open tailgate.this is extremely dangerous and annoying.typically, if the close button is pressed to lower the tail gate door or the sliders to, if the door encounters some object as it is closing, it will retract to the fully open position without the drivers knowledge.this should be totally unacceptable.

Driving down the highway in normal weather conditions and the passenger front window just exploded, completely shattered and came into the van, glass got all over my passengers.there was no rock or object that hit the window.

After waiting at the chrysler dealer for 6 hours on 3/3/20, the service department was unable to complete the update of the radio software and thereby was unable to remedy the safety recall upload for the rear camera issue under ve2?nhtsa 19v-886. The percentages of completion were 92% and 50%. Dealership said they have had problems with the update and in many cases the radio system and speakers were blown out during their attempt to update the software. As a result, the dealer said it may be better to avoid trying the update again, unless the problem of the recall occurs. This dealer position is due to their claim that the radio and speaker system could blow out and it would take several months for radio/speakers to be repaired. Also, the dealer explained in the event that the radio/speakers would blow out, the 8.4" screen would not show any information, such as relating to the gps and/or the rear view when backing up. So, the update to remedy the recall had failed. Note: the repair dealer is reedman toll, which is different from the dealer where i purchased the van in maryland.

The contact owns a 2019 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated while driving at various speeds with the cruise control engaged, the rpm's increased to high without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the vehicle was working as designed. In june, my windshield cracked while stationary and was determined by chrysler to be defective glass. This is covered under my warranty. It has been almost 4 months and it has not been replaced per the warranty. Chrysler claims the windshield is on a national back order with no estimated time of arrival. A cracked windshield is a safety hazard as it impedes my visibility. Chrysler has not offered any alternative options, only to wait. Customer service has been slow to respond and rude. Defective glass seems to be a common problem among chrysler pacificas, as well as an inability to fulfill the warranty. Please investigate.

My vehicle windshield developed a crack coming from va hospital.called insurance i have glass coverage.travelers contacted safelight in marietta ga. I was informed that they contacted chrysler and was told there are no windshields except for one in ohio. I have contacted paulding chrysler and they were told the same thing.i have contacted chryslercorp. Customer service twice nothing.i was told i have to wait till production is done june or july for a window.i was told by them to rent a car for 3-4 months [$3000-4000]out of my pocket.so i drive with a cracked window that i hope will not cause serious injury to my wife or me.i was told they have no parts for a recall from the government.so any busted window in the united states is at the mercy of chrysler.i asked chrysler to give a rental or take a window of another car.i have not heard anything.

The all season tires provided with the new vehicle are useless on snowy icy minnesota roads. Very long stopping distance. Two experienced van drivers noticed the difference right away. The extra small tread toward the middle of the wide tires does little to improve traction for accelerating from a parked position. Also, skidding is much more likely with these tires. The tires should have much deeper treads since their width gives less traction.
