The traction control and esp lights have been on for months, dealer states that the problem is the clockspring, but part is not available. So currently the esp and traction control, both of which are safety features are not functioning and i can not repair cause part is not readily available, i feel there should be a recall to cover this safety concern.
While stopped at intersection a vehicle traveling at 40 to 60 mph tried to turn the corner and struck our vehicle in the left front corner. The collision totaled the vehicle making the turn. At this time the insurance co. Hasn't decided whether to total ours or not. This vehicle is equipped with front air bags, under dash leg air bags and full side curtain air bags. None of the air bags deployed. I would have thought that with the direction of the impact that all air bags would have deployed, instead of none.
It was raining out and i was decreasing speed pulling into a turning lane, the car lost steering and brakes until i was able to get it off the road and turn it off and restart it.

The vehicle dies--especially when coasting toward a stop sign or light, or down hills--usually at lower speeds, though several times at speeds of 40 mph.the power brakes and power steering cease.the only option is to shift into neutral and restart the car.going around corners at speeds higher that 25 is difficult, this car has been in the shop several times for the same thing; they can't really find anything wrong but have charged me over $2500 this year alone.i'm afraid to drive this as this has been happening on nearly a daily basis.and taking it to the dealer seems futile.is this part of the recall?i'd hate to see my wife or someone else injured or killed because the safety systems on the vehicle stopped working at the same time--such as happened with the gm products. Updated 3/3/2015
While driving at speeds of 10-35 mph, the oil and esp lights would illuminate, then the engine will simply cut off / stall.we have to put on the emergency flasher while in traffic, put the vehicle in neutral or park and restart. No engine light.we brought the pacifica in to the dodge dealership 5 times and they could not find any codes. They tried updating the software on the ecm which did not help. Then, the dealership said the motor mounts were bad and the torque of the engine was pulling on the front wiring harness(es), causing the stalling issue. We had all 3 (front, rear, upper) engine/motor mounts replaced and the issue still happens every time we try to drive the car.the dealership has the car again and said the front motor mount still looks like it is bad even though it was replaced 4 days ago. Based on what i've read in the nhtsa database and the dodge dealership telling me that motor mounts go out on a lot of pacificas, this is happening to a lot of 2007 pacifica owners. Chrysler should absolutely recall the motor mounts on this vehicle and provide a more reliable replacement motor mount with a robust design at no charge to all pacifica owners. My wife has reported that she has almost been rear ended several times as a result of suddenly stalling while driving. To have this vehicle completely stall out while my wife is taking my 3 kids to school or other activities could cause a crash and is potentially life threatening. I just want this issue to be resolved. The pacifica is a well designed car and we love the interior but we need reliable transportation.

Consumer states experience with mechanical problems. *tgwthe consumer stated at 2,900 miles, a smoke condition developed in the vehicle's engine.a diagnostic revealed the front axle seal was defective. At approximately 3,800, the smoke condition developed again and the consumer was informed that the power transfer unit needed to be replaced. At 25,893, the power transfer unit had to be removed and replaced after it was discovered that there was a leak in an input seal. At 26,906 miles, the engine mount was replaced; at 48,062 miles, the blower motor was replaced; at 48,490 miles, the blend air door of the blower was replaced and the rear axle seals were replaced due to leaks; at 63,852 miles, the pvc valve, fuel pump, egr valve and battery were replaced and a short in the wiring to the alternator was repaired; at 65,479, the vehicle broke down and had to be towed. It was determined the computer needed to be replaced. At 82,439 miles, the motor mount failed and was replaced, an isolater was installed and power transfer unit was leaking again.the consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer, after driving it for 15 minutes, because it was in worse condition than when she left it with the dealer.the engine was racing at 6000 rpms, while driving at 50 mph, there was a loud noise coming from the engine and a banging noise could be heard upon turning the steering wheel. The dealer stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. However, when the consumer drove the vehicle for 20 miles, the malfunction indicator light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and after an inspection, the dealer stated the transmission control module relay was faulty.the consumer was assured the issues were fixed. However, on her way home, the malfunction indicator light illuminated again, the engine was racing and the entire vehicle jolted every time she shifted into, drive, park or reverse. The power door locks failed and the consumer was locked inside the vehicle for several minutes.
Both stationary and while driving. Headlights went out. Windows wouldn't roll up or down. Windshield wipers stopped working. Speedometer stopped working as well as other gauges. Shifter locked up. Fuse box under hood beeping loudly. Very very dangerous!!
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the tipm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
We were driving. I asked my husband to clean the windshield. As soon as he pulled the wiper stem, the headlights went out.the car restarted, but the headlights wouldn't come back on. We pulled over again and opened the hood. The car would restart, but now the dash cluster was out along with the headlights. We turned the engine off and weirdly, the headlights came on. They were flashing on and off, over and over. Within the next ten minutes the car would start but wouldn't shift out of park. From there the armrest controls stopped functioning, and eventually the car just chattered when the key was turned. Then it wouldn't even do that. It completely died. Four weeks and $1600 later, we have a new tipm l. The entire electrical system was fried.
From one day to another, the engine light turned on, the oil light turned on, the esp bas light turned on, the car sign with the curved lines under it, and the awd sign and that's just to name a few. The car was also not reversing and the car was shifting really hard. Took it into the dealer, and they told my mechanic that it was the computer, but they weren't sure if that would even fix the problem because they are not sure if that is the problem. They said i would have to pay for everything and if that didn't fix it i would have to spend more money until they found the actual fix.and the best part is when the car was under warranty they had to reprogram the pcm. Power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm). This car has always been kept in tip top shape with its regular maintenance, oil changes and etc... Do not know what to do at this point because under the advice of my mechanic, he says this car is way to new to be giving so many problems. All i know is that chrysler will be hearing from my attorney, because for what i know this is not the first time chrysler has had problems with their pcm,tcm which is the cars computer. Someone please help!!!! i can not drive this car anymore, i have a 2 year old daughter and i refuse to put her in a car that is going crazy!
My 2007 chrysler pacifica has start up issues. Regularly it will not start on the first try.dealer shop does not know the cause of this problem. Several reports in online forum about this problems with pacific. I called chrysler representative, but did not help.
Have owned a 2007 chrysler pacifica for almost 3 years now - bought it used and enjoy most features of this car having waited for a few years to purchase one after having recurring (and costly) repair issues with my previous chrysler (cirrus.) however, for the past year, i've experienced intermittent stalling issues with my car - while operating/driving and i am now terrified of the what "ifs" since i thought we'd resolved the issue just over a month ago when replacing my egr valve. This was a huge expense particularly since i've been underemployed for a while now, but then again today while driving with my young daughter the issue happened again!! i too have had my share of being inconvenienced by taking to multiple mechanics and repair shops saying they need to "mimick" the issue in order to find the problem. Since this issue occurs intermittently, how is that exactly suppose to happen??? chrysler corporate really needs to step up and address this issue asap since this appears to be a major issue and possible defect on the products themselves used when manufacturing this car and/or a huge defect of this particular make and model of vehicle, in general! chrysler - please hear us before you all are faced with an even larger penalty than the ones used to recently bail you out - please don't make a further mockery of the process by ignoring the voice of your consumer on such a major health and safety concern. To echo the words of another complaint i came across in my research of this specific issue... The price to replace a defect is much less than that of a human life!!
2007 chrysler pacifica.consumer writes in regards to vehicle stalling while driving.the consumer stated the vehicle was at the dealer for a month, with no remedy in sight.the clockspring was replaced. However, the vehicle continued to stalled. The dealer stated the clockspring was replaced, because there was a light on the dashboard.
After putting in gas in the car it will die as if it is not getting gas and when filling up i have to pump slow because it acts like it is not taking the gas. Its died on several occasions while driving without any warning. In traffic goinf through a light it shut off as if it had no gas. The car then will not turn on the key turns over but sputters. Once i pump on the gas after 3 or more attempts it come on. We have replaced the fuel pump and autozone code gave p0461 fuel level sensor a as the problem. This is dangerous as the car just shutting off while driving and unable to start in traffic or just shutting down on the highway. The oil light comes on as well. Theres a noise like a ticking sound i can hear by the gas tank when i shut off the car. As soon as i left the gas station today i had it in drive about to turn on the street with traffic coming and it shut off and wouls not turn on for about 10 minutes. I was lucky i did not get hit.

She just doesn't like to start on occasion. The dealer diagnoses was it needed a new starter, took all of three minutes. Had a new starter put in, same issue. New relay and new shifter assembly with new switch installed. Parts department said they sell a "lot" of these. Still no resolution. She does not like to start about 2% of the time and does so after running the shifter up and down a few times.i am worried as i have asthma and need a working car to get to hospital immediately when attack occurs. So far been lucky with timing of no starts.please help!!!

I was driving down the street at approximately 25 miles per hour and lost the ability to accelerate. The electronic throttle control light came on. I turned the car off and back on and the car drove normally for about a mile, and then behaved the same way. I went to the dealer for an inspection a month after purchasing the vehicle because the perform service indicator was displayed, the only suggestion was to fix motormounts. The battery died on me a week later, and now the car is losing power while i'm in traffic. The vehicle is turning into a money pit.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times and was able to be restarted. The contact indicated that the failure was progressing and the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 06v432000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. 2nd time in 6 months a control sensor to engine seems to short out while driving cutting off power to engine while driving leaving me with power and no acceleration and power steering as all engine, oil, traction dash lights come on and car is rendered dead and must pull over by coasting dangerously to side of highway. Twice chrysler has put my life in jeopardy by car suddenly dying while driving at high speeds.
I have a 2007 chrysler pacifica that has been diagnosed as having a bad tipm, the car would lose all interior power along with windshield wipers; this is extremely dangerous as this would happen during rain.
When driving, our 07 pacifica will randomly lose power and there will be no brakes and no steering.i have to put it in neutral and restart the engine while the car is still in motion.this has occurred on the freeway and also around town.it is most noticeable when i am approaching a corner or stop light/ stop sign and slowing down to turn or to stop.on the freeway, i was not slowing down or preparing to stop when it happened.the check engine light and etc light (electronic throttle control light) come on when it happens. We have taken our car to non-chrysler dealerships/auto shops over the summer because it's less expensive to scan. The car was in the shop three times this summer, and the problem was not corrected.this is a frightening occurrence and we may have to take it in to our chrysler dealership anyway.
Bought in 2007 used, 16000 miles. Last two years, stalls sometimes at low speeds.loses all power, will not steer, cannot brake.occurs too randomly to predict.very dangerous when making turns to join traffic flow as cannot stop or steer car while rolling. Latest example 12/7/15 - nearly at a stop on slight decline, ready to merge with street traffic from parking lot. Suddenly lost power and brake stopped responding and locked up.steering locked up.was slowly rolling into oncoming traffic.
Power door locks unexpectedly unlocked while driving 45 mph.
Vehicle stalls intermittently while driving. Has occurred at speeds between 30 and 45mph.both the traction control light and oil light will illuminate right before the stall occurs. This has occurred approximately 1 or 2 times per week, since purchasing the vehicle used, last month. The dealership has had it in their shop for several days, replacing the pcm and egr valve.still not fixed at this time.
Car will intermittently not start on first attempt. It starts after key is turned to off, waiting for 60 seconds, than asuccessful start. One incident where the vehicle completely sundown while in operation on a city street. Dealership where the vehicle was originally purchased completed the alleged repair. Dealership said it was battery, efficient cold cranking amps. Battery replaced. Eight hundred dollars later. The problem still exists. The times that starting failed the vehicle was always parked for thirty minutes or more. The problem began in april. The vehicle is in excellent shape. 118k miles. Vehicle has been maintained according to chrysler guidelines. Purchased new.
I purchased a vehicle end of may 2014. Vehicle has since started cutting off while driving with no warning. I have called chrysler and was referred to one of there dealers in oakville connecticut. They had the car for a week and was unable to find the problem. I took it home and the next day the car shut off while driving, i called the dealer again and was told to bring it back and its been there since september 2, 2014 and they still have not found problem. Its very frustrating that i have purchased a vehicle for safe driving and i fear for my family and myself to drive this vehicle and cause an accident and getting hurt.
I purchased my 2007 chrysler pacifica at a dealer ship in february 2017. I have just had the vehicle for 5 months. The car had everything running and when i say everything running; i mean a/c was working just fine as well as the heater and all windows rolled up and down. I had everything updated on this vehicle. Now 5 months later, i have neighbors on 7/25/2017 at around 2pm that witnessed my car catching on fire. How? i don't know and i am confused and worried because i had just pulled up to my home with my fiance. Our car caught on fire on 7/25/17 i had to call the fire fighters to come out and put the fire out. This was the most scariest thing i have ever experienced. I am overwhelmed. The fire fighters put the fire out and now i am with no vehicle. I am a single mother of 3 that works a double shift just to make a way in life. I am very disappointed in this experience and fear for my life from here on out. I am scared to drive or get in any car because mind you my car had been driving perfectly fine. I am disgusted at the fact that there are cruel people out here with license dealerships that are able to sell vehicles with vehicles that can cost someone's life. This is not acceptable and i am requesting an explanation to why this happened and i would like some kind of reimbursement for my vehicle. Me and my children don't have thousands of dollars to throw away i paid for this car cash. If you need proof of my car i can send pictures and report from fire fighters. I can send you proof of me owning the vehicle. I look forward to speaking with you soon you may reach me at [xxx] my name is [xxx]you may also call me via telephone at [xxx]. Thank you for your time. I hope you have a great day!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
My daughter brought me this car for my birthday 2007. I have been complaining since 2007 about the ignition. I was told it was the key. I purchase a new key, well the key is not the problem. I have been in the middle of the street and the car would just shout off.i keep replacing batteries after batteries. I finally found out it is the ignition, the way i found out is a certain way i had to turn the key for the car to start. I really learn to love my car but i have so many issues i don't know whether i would advise anymore to purchase one. I have had many issues until i became very dissatisfied with the company. I would appreciate if you take a look at this problem.thanksthe car would just cut off in the middle of the street. Unexplainable.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 100,540.
The traction control and esp lights have been on for months, dealer states that the problem is the clockspring, but part is not available. So currently the esp and traction control, both of which are safety features are not functioning and i can not repair cause part is not readily available, i feel there should be a recall to cover this safety concern.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that when inserting and turning the key in the ignition, there was an abnormal clicking and the vehicle would not start. The contact had to turn the key, depress the brake pedal, shift into neutral, and shift into pin order to get the key to move and start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who replaced a computer mechanism and the starter yet, the failure persisted. The current mileage was 68,562 and the failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
While driving the electrical panels are flushing multipletime some kind of warning noise sound and then thedash light stays on with all the lights sties on and the engine runs morally, we have to pull over and turn the engine off and restart it and after a few miles the same repeats again and again, the dealer dose not know about it and they wants to change multiple part to figure to fix the issue, which is costly and expensive too, and plus we have to find another vehicle for the daily need that take kids to school and daily grocery shopping. It is scary and specially when the kids are in the vehicle.
I purchased my 2007 chrysler pacifica on 06-05-07, within three days i noticed that everytime i locked the car and open it, the driver's seat and both side mirrorswould adjust themselves on their own. I took the car back and the dealer attempted to correct the problem and eventual disconnected the computer that controlled the seat adjustment. Needless to say this did not work. On july 13, 2007, while at work, i was doing home visits. I was running behind and forgot to readjust the mirrors when i got in the car. While backing up i hit a mail box causing $1,000.00 damage to the car. I went back to the dealer and informed them of the accident, they told me that they would have to contact the manufacturer as they did not know how to fix the problem. To date i am still waiting to hear from someone. If february of this year, i asked that the problem be fixed, to give me a rental or another car as i was having knee surgery in march, nothing was done and nothing has been done as yet.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the electronic stability control, brake assist system, and traction control warning lights illuminated for more than 18 months. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the clockspring (part number 68281393ab) needed to be replaced. The manufacturer failed to produce the required part to repair the vehicle. The contact and mechanic contacted the dealer and manufacturer numerous times during the 18 months to purchase the parts, but was not successful. The failure mileage was 148,000.
The car continues to stall at low speeds.we have taken to mechanic and they do not find any service alerts, and weren't able to duplicate on a test drive.it is starting to pick up in frequency to where it is doing it every other day now.i also called the service group at the chrsyler dealer i purchased it from, and they said they can only do what i had already done with the other mechanic shop.i went to the chrysler forum to post and see if anyone else had experienced this, and see numerous postings of this issue over the years.i am very concerned with the safety of my family, as when the car stalls, it locks up and i lose control. I have to pull over and restart.
I have a 2007 chrysler pacifica touring 4.0. The vehicles lights will flicker, the air conditioner and radio turn off and without notice the vehicle will lose total power. No power steering, no hazard lights nothing. I have been stranded in the middle of the busy intersection. I took my vehicle to the chrysler dealership to get serviced 3 times i paid $713.00 and they still have not fixed the problem. I have emailed a complaint with chrysler headquarters. I was given a case manager who does not call me back. This vehicle shuts off without warning and can cause death or injury to myself, my family and others and chrysler can care less about it.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. It was very hard to steer the vehicle after the failure occurred. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the starter, key, engine oil, and alternator failed on separate occasions. The vehicle was repaired each time; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
While driving on interstate rt 80 i experienced aloud noise and smoke and flames were coming from the engine. Pulled over and got myself and my granddaughter out of her car seat. The engine continued to burn until the fire dept come.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the key would not turn over into the on position to start the vehicle. The contact mentioned that after multiple attempts, the key was able to turn over to start the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that while traveling 40 mph to merge on the highway, the vehicle stalled. The contact was not able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the authorized dealer for further inspection and diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.updated 3/12/15 updated 9/7/2017
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.when the vehicle reaches 2,000 rpms while on a slight incline, the transmission begins to shutter and skip.this leads to failure between the transmission and the torque converter.the contact recently took the vehicle to the repair shop and they stated that it could not be repaired until september of 2007.the transmission also makes a harsh clunking sound when shifting.the contact believes that the suspension may be failing because the vehicle rides roughly at any speed.the current mileage was 800 and failure mileage was 350.the consumer stated chrysler stated this was a software problem and will not be able to fix the vehicle until sometime in september. Due to surrounding highway traffic speed and conditions, forced to hit a large breed dog in roadway, dog ran off, vehicle shut down, dead vehicle "coasted/steered" off roadway to shoulder, towed to dealer, "wiring connector at pcm came apart," no significant vehicle body damage. Concerned about subsequent wiring vulnerability regarding roadway debris and vehicle shutting down on the highway.
I drove 20 miles. Pulled into a parking place, and a fire erupted under my hood. The front end of the car became engulfed in flames, and the fire department had to put the fire out. They sprayed water inside the car's cabin to extinguish the fire in the dash and under the hood.pone interview update (oct. 5, 2007): i was vacationing with my three children in florida when the car caught fire under the hood and totaled it. The "hot-spot" shown on the hood is half way down on the driver side. An aftermarket dvd player was installed in the passenger cabin but that should not be related to the fire under the hood. Chrysler paid me for the vehicle.

Warning lights on the ip indicate a failure, illuminating "esp/bas" [electronic stability program/brake assist system]. Three dealers ran the diagnostic codes and have told me there is a "clockspring" failure in the steering angle sensor, which needs to be replaced. This is an extremely dangerous product failure since i could lose control of the chrysler pacifica under extreme braking or in case of a skid on a slippery road surface. Chrysler initially said they do not have this part available. Later, they claimed i would be able to get the part - in january - the february- now march. Still no part available. Chrysler must be compelled to recall the 2007 chrysler pacifica for the safety of the drivers and passengers - and fix this dangerous defect.
I pulled into a gas station for fuel and upon applying brakes, felt a slight shudder.after turning off the engine and fueling up, i started the car and put it in drive and it immediately shut the engine off.i tried a second time, same result. I was able to drive in reverse to a parking spot, and continued trying to drive forward, the engine would shut down each time.i noticed the electronic stability control light on the instrument panel was on.not knowing what it meant, eventually called a tow service for help.fortunately, home was only 45 minutes away.this is the same car that we have reported to this site for problems with the fuel system, that is, fuel gauge not working properly and also great difficulty in filling the fuel tank!!!
Im worried i dont have a nother vehicle .
Engine will shut off but will restart
The traction control and esp lights have been on for months, dealer states that the problem is the clockspring, but part is not available. So currently the esp and traction control, both of which are safety features are not functioning and i can not repair cause part is not readily available, i feel there should be a recall to cover this safety concern.
While driving at low speed or accelerating from being previously idle, the oil pressure warning light and the traction control indicator will simultaneously light up. Upon doing so, the engine will lose all power and shut off. This requires the driver to put the car into neutral or park to start the vehicle again. This problem occurring while driving has the potential to cause an accident at no fault of the driver from this loss of control.
The oil cooler rusted out and liquid poured from it. Over heated terribly. Part is on national backorder and no one anywhere ha's this part. Driving, computer malfunction while driving 55mph threw my car into limp mode. Pulling out of gas station, driving maybe 4mph, abs, traction and throttle body light came on and brakes froze. Had to throw my car into park to avoid hitting pole. Refuses to turn over. Hate this car nothing but problems!
Both stationary and while driving. Headlights went out. Windows wouldn't roll up or down. Windshield wipers stopped working. Speedometer stopped working as well as other gauges. Shifter locked up. Fuse box under hood beeping loudly. Very very dangerous!!
I have a 2007 chrysler pacifica with a safety problem. Warning lights on the ip indicate a failure, illuminating ?esp/bas? [electronic stability program/brake assist system]. I have had three dealers run the diagnostic codes and other tests tell me there is a ?clockspring? failure in the steering angle sensor, which needs to be replaced. Chrysler will not provide repair replacement parts to the dealer so this safety problem can be corrected. This is an extremely dangerous product failure since i could lose control of the chrysler pacifica under extreme braking or in case of a skid on a slippery road surface. Since chrysler is not willing to correct this safety defect, they must be compelled to recall the chrysler pacifica for the safety of the drivers and passengers.
My engine light has been on since i got the care in may of 2012-, i have always had problems with air going low on the drivers side front tire, and recently my steering has become hard to move even though it has power steering has fluid in it. At times the vehicle will shut off when i back out or come to a stop at a light or stop sign.
While driving approximately 35 mph, car lost power and steering became very difficult.after reaching a stop i put the car in park and was able to restart it. This has now happened on 5 separate occasions, with children in the vehicle.dealership service was not helpful in remedying this problem.additionally, despite recalls for this problem in previous years, there is no apparent solution for this.this problem has occurred both in my neighborhood and on surface streets, which make this a significant safety hazard as there is minimal (if any) opportunity to get the vehicle to a safe location to re-start. I have had regular service to the vehicle and it has been used primarily for work and errands.however, the motor mounts have had to be replaced 3 times and this latest issue has compounded the problem.
I bought the incident date june 4; 2014 consumer location union town; oh vehicle a chrysler pacifica 2007 vin#2a8gm68x37r engine 4.0 on september 7, 2016 here in hallandale beach, florida and about 200 miles ago the same reported complaint listed on your nhtsa site as summary of complaint has just begun which is that the electronic stability control, brake assist system, and traction control warning lights illuminated currently except (there is an addenum) the brake master cylinder motor component has activated itself with a whirlling sound that vibrates throught to the brake level reservoir even when the key switch to the engine (run) is switched off; and without diconnecting the battery terminal; the brake fluid distribution motor stayes on and drains the battery; vehicle would not start untill battery is recharged so the terminal has to be removed when stiopped (parked) for short or length of time.unique problem;i'm trying to solve this myself as a civil engineer by/andupkeep owner of the vehicle; even with auto mechanic mechanical assistance to include the manufacture; chrysler.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic however, the mechanic could not identify the problem. The contact did not call the manufacturer nor take the vehicle to a dealer. The failure mileage was 97,000.
My car stops running shortly after driving within a few minutes with zero warning. When this happens the power steering and breaks stop functioning.i have been able to successfully been able to restart the car and continue to my destination. This creates a defiant safety hazard and has happened randomly on multiple occasions.the stalling started at the time when the check engine light and 'gascap' warning message came on - permanently.the mechanics have been unable to fine the problem and there are no computer code readings.has there been a recall for this problem from chrysler?
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving approximately 45 mph, there was a hesitation of power. The contact was able to continue driving.in addition, whenever driving from a complete stop the vehicle would lunge forward. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the motor mount was replaced. One year later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the motor mount was replaced for the second time. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the previous failures. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while the vehicle being serviced, the technician advised that the motor mounts were cracked and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 74,000.
My 2007 chrysler pacifica began stalling on 8/17/2011.we have to put the car in neutral and re-start, no matter what the traffic conditions.we lose all power steering and brakes when this happens.after about 3 stalling incidents in a short time.we took it to the dealership.they had the car for a couple of days and couldn't find the cause.they sent me home and said to keep a diary of problems.i kept track for a year.in that time the car had stalled 24 times.the time of day and conditions were all noted.in august of this year, the car stalled numerous times.we took the car back to the dealership with the diary.they have had my car since 8/27/12.we have incurred $800.00 in rental car expense.they put a computer on board and sent the car home with my husband to drive for a week.he pushed the button when it stalled 4 times.the computer recorded the stalls, but no codes.they can't re-create the problem and have no answers.i some times drive with our grandchildren and will not drive the car until this is resolved.motor mounts were replaced early in our ownership.the only thing that chrysler can offer was to clean the throttle body.the dealership did that and it didn't help.the car has started stalling at higher speeds.initially it was 10-25 mph.the last few times it was around 35 mph.this is clearly a safety issue and needs to be taken seriously.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact was driving various speeds when the engine unexpectedly stalled without warning. Upon restarting, the vehicle resumed as normal. The failure recurred twelve times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Updated 05/08/13*lj
While driving, the engine just stopped/stalled. Steering, brake and gas pedals stopped functioning. I have to wait until the car fully stopped. Scary and feels so helpless in the middle of the road!
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall sporadically and without warning. The air conditioner also was inoperable.the vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified who offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 45,000.
The motor mounts continue to fail. Keep needing replaced.
At approximately 40,000 miles, while a computer-related recall repair was being performed, i was informed by the chrysler dealership that motor mounts were a potential problem & to keep a watch on it.i thought this was an odd comment at the time, as the car was barely 3 years old (and, of course, out of warranty).fast forward to approximately 70,000-75,000 miles, and we started having issues. They are particularly noticeable when i am slowing to a stop, and then re-accelerate (for instance, the light changed green right as i was slowing to a stop, so i would take my foot off the brake & then accelerate instead) - the car won't move right away, and then it suddenly "clunks" into gear & lurches forward.the force is so strong that i have almost rear-ended someone on several different occasions.i have contacted chrysler regarding the issue - have been told it isn't covered as my car is out of warranty. I thought chrysler would certainly issue a recall, due to the sheer volume of complaints online regarding this same issue - but so far they have not.i finally brought my vehicle in to be repaired - i was told four mounts are bad!i drive almost all freeway miles in suburban area - no gravel roads, etc. - this should not be occurring.i am still hoping for a recall as this is dangerous and i feel whoever supplied these bad parts should have to stand behind their premature failure.
The suv shuts of while moving.while we are driving (in motion) the suv will completely shut off and we have to restart it by placing it in neutral and turning the key.we have reported it to chrysler 3 times and we have spent $900 to fix the problem but it just happened again 2 days after we picked it up from the dealership.all repairs for this suv were done by the dealership over the life of the suv.we were told that the suv has not duplicated the problem while in the dealership while being repaired and they have said that the vehicle was driven over 100 miles by them without shutting off.if this is true, why did it shut off while my family was driving it 2 days after we picked it up.they are not telling the truth.we do not want to take the car back to the dealership for a 4th time for this problem until we find out what can be done.the truck is in great shape besides this problem that is extremely dangerous and scary when it happens.this is a serious safety issue.there have been other incidents of this very problem with chryslers as well.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While stopped at a red light, smoke started to emit from the front of the vehicle without warning. The contact merged to the side of the road and lifted the hood. Once the vehicle cooled off, it resumed normal operation. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.
Dealer instructed me that the front and rear motor mounts were cracked on a car with less than 100k miles.this is not covered under chrysler's powertrain or extended warranty.this is a common occurrence with chrysler's motor mounts.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle jerked forward and accelerated independently without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front engine mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear engine mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. In addition, the contact also mentioned that the vehicle failed to shift into the reverse position and stalled intermittently without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 100,000.

When we exit the highway the cars stalls and sometimes even lunges.we have taken the car to 2 different mechanics and they say there isn't anything to fix. Chrysler even said there isn't anything they can do.i feel this a major safety issue because when this has happened to me i've had my grandson with me and it took 4 tries to get the car to start again. Also when driving in rush hour traffic the traffic can stop suddenly which will cause an accident. Chrysler has fixed this problem on earlier years of this model, i don't think they want to be bothered with repairing a known issue on a vehicle they no longer manufacture.
Shortly after starting and driving the car, within a couple of minutes, the car completely stops running with no warning lights. Just dies while driving as if the ignition was just turned off. This has happened multiple times causing a significant safety hazard as the power brakes and steering immediately stop working. The car is under an extended manufacturer's bumper-to-bumper warranty so the repair should be covered as it is a clear defect. Apparently, because the car just stopped, no codes were recorded as to the nature of the problem. Hence, the dealer was unable to identify a problem. The dealer recommended that the cost of a suspected repair be made by the owner because they could not definitely define the problem as necessary to be reimbursed under the warranty. Recommended repair was done at owner's cost yet the same thing happened again. An earlier model of this car had a recall to repair a similar if not identical problem.
It was raining out and i was decreasing speed pulling into a turning lane, the car lost steering and brakes until i was able to get it off the road and turn it off and restart it.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that when driving approximately 35-40 mph, a loud noise was emitted from the engine area. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where they advised him that all three motor mounts were fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired for the three motor mounts. The contact stated that the failure recurred every two months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer each time where the motor mounts were constantly being replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and offered to cover the repair expenses. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The current mileage was approximately 49,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The vin was not available.
This vehicle tends to stall at or below 35 mph. Have been to independent mechanics and chrysler and no one can seem to figure out why it stalls. When it stalls there is a loss of control of the car and is very dangerous especially when in rush hour traffic. My wife drives this vehicle along with my 3 children. I have seen numerous complaints on this matter and i am quite surprised there has not been a recall.
First week in june i sent my chrysler pacifica to athens dodge chrysler jeep in bogart ga. The steering was locking up on my wife. I figured it was maybe the power steering. The tech informed me that the motor mounts were again broken and they replaced the right one for the third time. I read in social car chat rooms that the motor mounts are failing in just about all these type cars, and that chrysler was not going to cover the costs. I now have a car that no one will buy or at least i wouldn't because it can't hold its own engine. I know this is a consumer concern just wanted to point that out. My main concern is the steering locking up with my family on board. Motor mounts are not supposed to break unless there is a major accident. In my opinion this is a manufacturers design flaw that they are dumping on us consumers. I mean if they told me the motor mounts were going to be a maintenance issue i would have never bought the car. This is absolutely ridiculous, and now my concern is the safety of my family. Please advise me on what i can do to find some kind of help with this. I am not the only one. Where else can i complain and steer others to.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
My family and i was at the airport when it just shuts off. Will start fine but stalls when put in drive(.reverse works) i had to have my car towed from the airport. My mechanic cannot find the problem.
Motor mounts are bad on the chrysler there is 1,000 of reports online for this issue parts are on back order all over and it is a very known issue and a huge safety concern it occurs once vehicle is started shifts moves at all the engine will lift or jump up towards the hood of the car causing things to bend and twist while moving that should not
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that when the vehicle was taken to be serviced, the technician discovered that the engine cradle was corroded and needed to be replaced. I have had this 2007 pacifica since 2009, bought it with 12,000 miles on it. It now has 109,000 miles. In the past year the car has stalled intermittently when slowing down at stops, took it in, no problem found. It has also had light smoke coming from under the hood intermittently since i bought it, had it looked at several times, no problem found. This week i was driving the car at @30ish mph when it stalled on a busy road, but was luckily able to turn off the road with no power steering safely. It has been at the dealers for 3 days and no problem found at this point. I have children and no longer feel safe driving them in this vehicle. If ther is "no problem" to fix, that is a major problem, because a car stalling waiting to be hit and someone injured, is a problem!!! i have called corporate and awaiting to speak with a case manager about this issue, but from what i have read online, if the dealership cannot mimic the issue, then corporate will likely say there is no problem. I cannot just wait to see if it happens again, and next time on the highway as i have read in other cases, when someone could be hurt! also concerned with the "no problem" when it smokes under the hood, as i have read a couple of incidents where the car caught fire. Have a rental car now...hope corporate doesn't blow me off!
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacific. The contact stated that while traveling 65-70 mph, a clunking noise was heard from the vehicle after the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who confirmed that the engine motor mounts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 83,000 and the current mileage was 90,000.
I bought this car almost new (it was never titled - chrysler has used it as a corporate car), with 15,000 miles on it.i have replaced the engine mounts four times (the first two times under warranty).on the latest instance, the mounts had been on the car for about 15 months and 28,000 miles.they failed and damaged the right front axle, which also had to be replaced, for a total cost of about $2,500.
Several times while driving and often when turning at a slow speed the pacifica stalls. This is a common problem with no help from chrysler. No codes come up and several mechanics and dealers have tried to fix the problem to no avail and at a lot of expense. In checking this problem out on the internet, many, many people have complained about this problem because it is highly dangerous and puts peoples lives at risk!why doesn'tchrysler investigate and find the reason and provide a fix or why won'tthe nhtsa look into this problem. It also is known to happen to 2005 and 2006 pacificas.
While driving my 2007 chrysler pacifica it will stall. This often occurs at speeds less than 40mph. This is a safety concern and when i called the dealer they did not seem familiar with the problem.this could very vellum result in a fatality since there is no warning. The car will loose steering function after the stall and i will need to attempt to pull out of traffic to restart the car. I am uncomfortable that the manufacturer has not recalled this or attempted to correct this problem, which seems fairly common.
The engine will stall while driving down the road, with no warning, this has happened several times at different speeds ( 20 - 45 mph)car is able to be restarted in neutral after it slows to less than 5mph, no engine lights on prior or post stalling. Motor mounts replaced and new battery, dealer unable to replicate and no codes on computer.
Within minutes of pulling out of my driveway my 2007 chrysler pacifica touring simply shut down.unfortunately, it was a shock to me when i lost acceleration and power steering in the middle of driving and it took me a few seconds to figure out what had happened.i pulled over with some difficulty and put the car into park.i was able to re-start the vehicle and returned home.since that date, my husband has been driving the vehicle as it was our teenager's primary means of transportation prior to the incident.i shudder to think what could have happened to her as she is a new driver and my own reaction to the incident was inappropriate.i should have put the car into neutral and re-started it, but thank god i did live and learn.since that incident my husband has experienced the same loss of power on three additional occasions.i am in constant fear that the car will shut down while pulling out into traffic.it has already happened once.thankfully other drivers were aware and were able to slow down in time for my husband to re-cover.as i have read many other incident reports concerning my vehicle having the same issue, i am hopeful that chrysler will address the problem before someone ends up injured or dead.
Stalls while driving, losing steering, braking, lights.too many close calls while driving.have replaced, egr valve along with couple of other sensors and continue to have issue with it growing in severity and occurrences.
The vehicle shuts off while driving at low speeds mostly it happens when going around curves.i took it to the dealership they were not able to find any problems with it they just said they could replace the 2 fuel pumps for $900 but could not guarantee that would fix the problem.i did not have the pumps changed.when the vehicle shuts off loss of power assist steering is lost and power assist brakes making it dangerous to navigate to a stop to restart it.
The first time i had to have the motor mounts replaced on my 07' chrysler pacifica was in 2009. There was an awful almost slamming type noise and the vehicle "jumped" when accelerating. I took the vehicle to the dealership, it was still under warranty at that time and they said the motor mounts were cracked and they would replace them, but couldn't guarantee how long they would last. The mechanic said that it was "an issue" on the pacifica model as it was a design flaw and he had seen this problem often. Since the first time the motor mounts were found to be cracked in 2009, i have had to replace the motor mounts 2 more time and now they are broke again; totaling 4 times in 7 years!!! this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable! i have called chrysler quite a few times in the last 4 years and got nowhere! they could not care less that the consumer has to pay for their "design flaw"! if i had known that i would have the same problem keep repeating, i 100% would not have bought this vehicle! and if i had known that chrysler would give me an arousing "oh well, too bad for you", i 110% would not have bought from this company! how sad that even after all the money they have made off people buying their products they won't do anything to help! inexcusably disgusting!!

My vehicle continues to stall without warning while i am driving.it generally happens while turning left and always under the speed of 45 mph.i have taken it to several dealerships who have fixed different things they feel is causing the stalling and nothing is working.i have paid for the repairs and the dealership says unless it happens when they have it they cant diagnose it.i have almost been hit several times because the cars behind me have no warning the car is shutting off.i have contacted chrysler who told me to take it to a dealer and they would "help" me figure out what is wrong with the car.so i did and they cleaned the throttle body and gave me new spark plugs.chrysler was going to make me pay for the repairs and i fought them on it and they agreed to pay for the parts and i paid labor and the car is still stalling. I have read online hundreds of other complaints for their pacifica stalling and doing the same thing mine is. There is a recall for the 2005/2006 vehicles for the same thing but not for the 07 model.i don't understand how chrysler can ignore this problem when so many people are complaining about the same issue as the vehicles that were recalled. I am in fear of my life and the lives of my family while driving this car i can guarantee i will get hit eventually and i want it on record that i tried everything i could to get the problem resolved with no luck.
Engine rusts andcradles like if it'sgoing to fall outthe car. When driven engine shakes and moves back and forth making a pounding sound.feels very unsafe.

The vehicle was taken to landers mclarty dodge chrysler jeep (256-864-7475, located at 6533 university dr nw, unit a, huntsville, al 35806) where the failure was duplicated; however, the technician stated that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa to file a complaint. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
While driving on interstate rt 80 i experienced aloud noise and smoke and flames were coming from the engine. Pulled over and got myself and my granddaughter out of her car seat. The engine continued to burn until the fire dept come.
My vehicle shuts off while driving no codes
Random stalling w/ all functions stopping.brakes, steering..ect.took it to several licensed/certified mechanics and not 1 of them can tell me what is wrong.this has nearly caused 2 serious crashes so i no longer allow anyone to ride in the car with me.the stalling has happened on the highway going nearly 70mph, on a 2 lane highway through town with heavy traffic going approx. 35 mph, its happened in my neighborhood street, on the way home from work on a country road (several times).the vehicle hasn't ever stalled while running and stationary.for me this has only happened while in motion
My 2007 chrysler pacifica 4.0 has always ran pretty great, rides smooth. This particular day it jerked and reved to 3000 rpms when i put my vehicle into reverse,i then switched my gear into drive and the truck jerked again then started smoking on the drivers side of the engine. By the time i could park the engine caught fire and spread quickly. I grabbed what things i could before the fire department got there. They had to pry my hood open because it melted the latch to open it and they continuously soaked the whole engine for about 5-7 minutes. Fire seemed to originate around the battery compartment area.

Several instances of stalling with absolutely no warning at approximately 40 mph.car does start back up but stalls at random intervals. Has been seen at multiple shops with no errors, codes or problems found.
Car turns off while runing at speedway. Twice at 4 min. That is nothing new thishappens every day most times at the first 5/10 min. Of drivingat streets. But today'swas after 30 min . There is way i went to expressway.i already spend money and to much time at mechanics they cant found whats wrong. But at interner i found this is a common issueswhit this type of cars.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced several failures in which the vehicle would fail to accelerate when engaged, the air conditioning was erroneously blowing hot air and the engine would shift when driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the fuel tank and the air conditioning system.the motor mount brackets were also replaced by a local mechanic. After the repairs, the gear shifter could not be shifted from park. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who advised that the gear shifter had to be replaced. The gear shifter was not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available. The approximate current mileage was 70,000.
Vehicle randomly shuts off while driving without warning of any kind. It's happened 5 times in the last month, it is usually "chilly" out (40f or lower) but we just got the vehicle a month agoso hasn't been warm yet. 2 of the times were while driving on a city streetand 3 just leaving our driveway.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle surged with hesitation in a jerking motion. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on three separate occasions where the engine motor mount was replaced each time. The failure recurred and the vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 31,201.
Purchased the pacifica touring awd in september/october, 2013. It was in fabulous condition. A couple of months later, i experienced my first of eight occurrences wherein the vehicle shut off without warning. Once the engine shut off, power brakes and power steering didn't function properly, likely because the engine was no longer running. Five of these eight occurrences have been within one mile of my residence. Additionally, it occurred once in a parking lot, once in an intersection, and once as i was getting onto an interstate highway. A few of the occurrences almost resulted in accidents. I was at the mercy of the other drivers in those cases. I have six grandchildren. I'm hesitant to take them on trips because i have no confidence in my pacifica's safety and reliability. My vehicle safety complaint seems eerily similar to numerous other owner's 2007 pacifica safety complaints. I pray chrysler will investigate this issue to determine what is causing the engine failure before a precious life is lost. Chrysler, please identify the cause and notify the owners of the fix soonest. It makes no sense to continue neglecting these safety claims. I'm certain $$$ is causing your hesitation to investigate; however, it will seem like pennies compared with the cost you will undoubtedly pay due to negligence in the event of injury or fatality.thanks in advance for hearing my concern, diagnosing the problem, identifying the solution, and quickly implementing your plan to repair the affected vehicles. Safety has a price, but human life is priceless.
Drive at about 60 mph whren my car just shout down . Had no sterting or breaks . Lucky this is not the first time it has happed and i knew tio put it in neutral and turn the key ,drop it in drave and a awy you go . The other times this has happened to many to count i was slowing down to corner very scary when you cant stop or turn your wheel . No warning lights or signs .
The car will stall under 40 mph, almost got t-boned
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact merged to the shoulder of the road and restarted the vehicle. Also, the contact stated the failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics where the failure was unable to be replicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate current and failure mileage was 80,250.
At 40,899 miles (i purchased this car new) i have now had to replace the three engine mounts twice (first time at 20,000 miles - under warranty).i am a mature driver who drives this care gently.
Second time this happened in two months.driving in dry, pleasant weather conditions on residential road less than 30 mph.car stalled--lost power steering, brakes, etc.oil light definitely was on.coasted to side of the road and turned car off then on.car started right back up.oil light was off now.took it to a mechanic, who said no computer code was generated, although there was an abs code (which appeared to be totally unrelated).electronic throttle body appeared clean, but took it apart and checked it.this is a dangerous condition similar to other stalling problems i have read about on 2004-06 pacificas, and that had led to a recall on older models.called chrysler recall, but they have no record on this problem.why won't chrysler do anything on this one?
Failed motor mounts. I am the original owner of a 2007 chrysler pacifica. I took the vehicle to a dealer and was informed that the motor mounts had failed and needed to be replaced. Chrysler was made aware of the failure. And they stated that no recalls had been issued. Mileage at the time of diagnosis was 59,000. As the vehicle was out of the basic warranty, and mounts are not covered under the powertrain warranty, i was told i have no coverage for repair of this known defect. Manufacturer suggested that i pay for the repair at the dealership, at the wildly inflated dealer pricing, and then they would see if there was anything they could do regarding a possible partial reimbursement after the fact. I may have been dumb enough to buy a chrysler, but i'm not that dumb. An estimate from a private garage was 50% less.a review of this site and the broader internet shows this to be a known and common problem with these vehicles. How many of these failures need to be reported before a recall is issued?
In oct/07 we bought a 07 chrysler pacifica & a maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract from darcars chrysler of fairfax. In feb/09 darcars performed oil/filter change services. In apr/09 the pacifica began smoking from the exhaust at start up, running low on oil, & making engine noise & sputtering during operation. In may/09 we told darcars the pacifica was smoking from the exhaust at start up, running low on oil, & making engine noise & sputtering during operation. Darcars said they were unable to duplicate the concern, changed the oil/filter, rotated tires, & did a 16 point vehicle check up. In jun/09 we told darcars the pacifica continued to smoke from the exhaust at start up, run low on oil, & make engine noise & sputter during operation. Darcars said they we unable to duplicate the concern & made no repairs. In sept/09 the pacifica suddenly became inoperable while driving 40mph in rush hour traffic. We towed the pacifica to darcars & told them the pacifica continued to smoke from the exhaust at start up, run low on oil, make engine noise & sputter during operation, & suddenly became inoperable while going 40mph in rush hour traffic. In oct/09 darcars documented sludge in the engine, recommended a tear down for further diagnosis, & later informed us their recommendation was denied by our maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract due to lack of proper maintenance. We try to contact our maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract decision maker seeking clarification about how they deny protection due to lack of proper maintenance without seeing the pacifica or speaking to their customer. We never get further than the initial operator. The dealer finds a problem & our maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract will not attempt to find the cause, thus, leaving us unprotected. Feeling victimized, abandoned, & confused we seek concern resolution direction

I purchased my 2007 pacifica in 2009 with about 30,000 miles from chrysler, elk grove, california. Upon reaching about 57,000 miles, when accelerating, i would hear loud metal banging from the engine area. I would also feel a hard jolt when accelerating. After visiting chrysler, elk grove service center, i was told that 3 of my pacifica engine motor mounts failed and needed immediate replacement at about $1000.00 dollars. I asked if this problem would occur again and was told i should have no further problems with the engine mounts by chrysler, elk grove. I paid for replacement.at approximately 105,000 miles, i began to here loud metal pounding after accelerating from the engine area. I could hear metal knocking when i slowly drove over bumps in the street. I could also feel my car give a hard jolt when accelerating. After visiting the chrysler, elk grove service center, i was told 3 of the engine mounts failed and needed immediate replacement for $1083.00 dollars. I told the service person that i had the same service repair and was told there would be no additional problems. Chrysler service replied the engine mounts on the chrysler fail due to wear and tear. My concerns are i dont feel safe knowing that my engine is not properly secured to the frame of my vehicle. Chrysler service also told me driving with failed mounts will lead to other problems. There is no warning when these engine mounts will fail. The service manual does not mention these parts should be inspected for wear and tear at certain intervals or miles. Please help with failed motor mounts.

On aug. 29, 2011, as i was accelerating to merge onto the freeway, the engine of my 2007 chrysler pacifica made a loud popping sound, the engine failed and white smoke immediately came billowing out of the engine and into the interior of the vehicle. I immediately pulled over and had to have the vehicle towed to a local mechanic. The mechanic who inspected the engine said it "threw a rod" and the engine was cracked in 3 places, rendering it irreparable. Later i learned that chrysler no longer makes a long-block engine for the pacifica, and therefore the only way to repair it would be to start with the short block and add on from there. The repairs would be at least $8,000. The vehicle only had 66,426 miles on it at the time of the incident. I have always adhered to the recommended maintenance schedule of the vehicle. The mechanic confirmed that the engine had plenty of oil in it and was not the cause of the failure. Six months prior to this event, i had the radiator as well as the engine mounts replaced as they were worn and broken. Three months prior to the event, the electronic equipment that controls the braking system and traction control, was repaired by a chrysler dealer as well. These repairs cost me a total of $2400. Chrysler has refused to compensate me for the loss in value i have had to incur with this vehicle. The kelly blue book value with a working engine was approx. $12,000. Now the car is worth less than $2000.
2007 chrysler pacifica had loose motor mounts causing transmission problems. Service manager said vehicle could be driven until new motor mounts could be found to make repair. Riving vehicle out of town the motor mount snapped and the engine vibration caused the radiator hose to break and immediate total loss of engine coolant. Vehicle had to be towed to nearest chrysler dealer and is now awaiting for this dealer to locate new motor mounts. Had i been in a remote location a emergency would have existed. Chrysler needs to recall this vehicle and inspect all motor mounts.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25-30 mph, the vehicle would suddenly stall and there would be a loss of steering and brakes. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The check engine and oil warning lights illuminated on the instrumental panel prior to and after the stall. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they could not duplicate the failure. They stated that they found a burnt wire in the engine which may have caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure still occurred on an intermittent basis since the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000. The vin was unavailable.
We have experienced 3 incidents of stalling in a 2007 chrysler pacifica touring.auto stalls shortly after starting car.unable to restart car.auto has been towed to dealer 3 times for repairs.first repair -- dealer was unable to determine cause of problems.second repair -- dealer replaced fuel pump, purge solenoid and vapor canister.third repair - pending.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited an abnormal vibration when shifting from reverse to first gear. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but the dealer was unable to duplicate or diagnose a failure yet the failure persisted. The mechanic advised that the motor mount was fractured, which caused the failure. The contact called the manufacturer who advised that they were unable to assist. The vehicle was not repaired. Failed motor mounts - 2 replaced this time (10/22/10) 2 other separate times as well.
I purchased a brand new 2007 chrysler pacifica in april 2007.i've had problems with the engine mounts three times already (january 2008, august 2009 and september 2010).most recently, i am experiencing problems with the transmission and oil pressure but the dealer does not seem to thing there is a problem. I'm tired of the run around that i'm getting. Last month, (around the first week in august 2010) i brought the car to dealer because it would not start.i asked them to check the transmission because it was acting odd, check the brakes, check the engine mounts since i knew these were problematic in the past.also, asked them perform an oil change.i was told the car needed a new battery, some brake work and the tensioner needed to be replaced.an oil change was done. I was told the engine mounts were inspected and they were fine and there was no problem with the transmission.well, little over a month later around sept. 22 2010, the transmission felt like it was dragging, engine was extremely hot, rpm's seemed to be out of wack and the oil fuel was really low. The car was inspected and i was told the rubber around the engine mounts had to be replaced and was making the engine pull away from the transmission which was causing the problem.i was told it was normal to burn / loose that amount of oil.i was charged another deductible and i took the car home.well today, sept. 28th, i get in the car and the low oil light goes on and the transmission still seems / feels weird. What is going on with chrysler?now i have to bring the car back in and most likely they will try to charge me another deductible to fix the oil problem, transmission and/or another engine mount. Apparently, chrysler knows these are problems but does not do anything to help the consumer.they should recall the car for the engine mount problem.heaven forbid if i have my children in the car and the engine mounts crack at the same time. This is unacceptable.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica touring. While driving various speeds, the contact heard a noise outside of the vehicle and continued to drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they detected a faulty motor and transmission mount. The technician stated that the defect was a common occurrence, and a serious safety issue. Three years ago, one of the two motor mounts were replaced. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a second diagnostic test where they stated that the motor mount was defective, although it was not the one previously replaced. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was waiting for a response from the case manager regarding the repair. The failure mileage was 35,000. The vin was unavailable.
We were getting onto the freeway and the car lost power and the check engine light kept flashing. Then we regained power a minute or two later.
Shortly after purchasing this vehicle from the dealer in october 2008, i noticed that the car seemed to lurch when i stepped on the gas from a full stop.i brought it back to the dealer on several occasions, but they did not think there was a problem.in 2009, they went out of business and i took the car to be inspected by another dealership.they found that two engine mounts were broken.luckily it was covered by the warranty.at my last inspection, it was found that my other two mounts have broken.this i had to pay out of my own pocket, as the warranty expired.i am wondering if i am going to have to keep replacing these every year?also, is this a fire hazard?is this a hazard in a car accident?i think chrysler needs to be held accountable for this problem and come up with a solution to permanently fix the engine mounts.

I have a 2007 pacifica and have replaced 2 motor mounts(first time shortly after i purchased it in 2007),2 tire rods(2009 &2010),and recently 2 stab links within a 6 month period(aug.2010,march 2011).also my car has stalled twice when driving 25-30 miles per hour.my check engine light is on due to an emission leak that they say now after replacing a sensor that my gas tank has a crack in it.my radiator has a crack in it and is evaporating coolant.this car has been the worst vehicle i have ever owned.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning while driving 65 mph. The failure was experienced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failure where the dealer performed a diagnostic that was unable to locate the failure. The dealer replaced the egr sensor, the etc sensor, the ecm sensor and the wiring harness but the failure was not corrected. The vehicle continued to stall without warning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer.the failure mileage was 42,000, and the current mileage was 66,000.updated 03/27/12*lj
Broken motor mount under the front right of motor. Chrysler service contract ([xxx]) said it is not covered under their extended warranty. I feel this can be a dangerous situation.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

A/c blower cuts off after running for 5 minutes. Air flow almost non-existent. Took to dealer. They said that the sensor for the ac was placed in the wrong position. Manager said he called chrysler and they said there was nothing they could do. Manager said it could not be fixed. Ac freezes up. Could possibly catch on fire if overheats too much. Started doing this about 3 weeks ago. I have had the car since july 2007.
The a/c condenser on the 2007 chrysler pacifica is unprotected unlike in any vehicle i have ever seen.the open grille is 12 inches high by 30 inches wide and allows rocks and other road hazards up to 2 inches in diameter to pass through the grill to the condenser.this is a major design flaw for which chrysler will not accept responsibility but seems all too glad to accept cash into their service department to fix those of us who have already experienced damage.it is my belief chrysler should be held responsible for this design flaw, repay consumers who have already been forced to pay the $600 repair bill for road hazards which damage the condenser and or radiator, and also be forced to provide installation of metal mesh on the inside of the grill to protect other consumers from such an outrageous repair bill for a new vehicle.

2007 pacifica ltd $38,000.00may 2009: job#1 white smoke coming from engine at 45k miles. Dealership replaced valve seals on both banks.job#3 they also had to replace spark plugs and decarb engine due to the smoke. I had to agree to pay for half of this (not warranty item - although the warranty work from the smoke from broken gaskets is what caused this damage)job#2 is listed on my repair ticket but was never discussed with me. During 27 point inspection they found the engine mount was broken.never discussed with me - never fixed.i've been driving around like this for who knows how long. I'm wondering if my axle is messed up now as well.i will be talking to the chrysler / dodge service manager tomorrow and threatening him with the attorney general if they do not fix this.broken engine mounts should def be a recall!!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle completely shut off.the vehicle never restarted and always has to be towed to the dealer.the failure has occurred three times in the past two months.the warning indicator illuminates after the failure occurs and states "service immobilizer".the failure occurs in all types of weather.once the vehicle shuts off, the power steering and brakes become inoperative.the electrical components would remain active, but the vehicle would not restart.the first time the failure occurred the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they changed the pcm module.on january 5, 2009, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they changed the skreem module.the repair worked for a day.the failure occurred again on january 7, 2009 and has not been repaired.the failure mileage was 32,930.

Both stationary and while driving. Headlights went out. Windows wouldn't roll up or down. Windshield wipers stopped working. Speedometer stopped working as well as other gauges. Shifter locked up. Fuse box under hood beeping loudly. Very very dangerous!!
On september 15th i was taking my son to school when all of my idiot lights came on and stayed on. Once i got back home and turned the car off i noticed that something was still running. After opening the hood i realized it was my abs system that want shutting off. I was able to disconnect the sensor but have been too fearful to drive it since then. My father ran a code checker and nothing was showing up except the fuel cap (which was replaced but still showing that warning light). He drove the car and noticed that the speedometer wasn't working.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving approximately 40 mph, the headlights and instrument panel failed to illuminate intermittently. On a separate occasion, the contact mentioned that the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the driverā€™s side headlight failed to operate as needed. The local dealer was contacted and provided an estimate for the repair. Due to the cost of the repair, the manufacturer was notified of the failure however, offered no assistance since there was no recall on the vehicle. The contact eventually took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was unable to repair the headlight and referred him to the nhtsa for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
2007 chrysler pacifica.i can only put less than 2 gallons of gasoline in may car at a time.gas splashes out when trying to put gas in as if it is full.fuel gauge not reading accurate as it drops down to "e" after it reaches 1/2 tank.engine light remains on.took vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed to replace my right side fuel pump and fuel gauge sender.after replacing both parts the problem still exist. I also took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test and was unable to get a definite answer to the problem, so i paid the diagnostic fee and the problem still exist.
When i started the car, the check engine light came on and the word 'gascap' appeared in place of the car's mileage. I read the owner's manual and followed directions to reset the message after tightening gas cap. It had no effect. I went to autozone and had them run a free diagnostic scan which returned the diagnosis of: evaporative emission system leak. I installed a new gas cap and followed directions to reset message. The check engine light and 'gascap' message remain.
I took my 2007 chrysler in because of fuel gauge not reading properly, dealer said i had bad fuel pumps, changed pumps and seals approximately $1100 gauge still not working dealer claims bad module paid $350.00 gauge still not working, dealer said it could be battery cable changed that still not working, dealer said it have a bad fuel tank, changed tank fuel gauge still erratic, now car cuts off for no reason, you cannot put gas in the car without the car acting as if it is full, fuel gauge still does not work and car displaying more issues now than i started with and i have had the motor mounts at least 5 times since i had the car. Dealer even said fuel gauges sometimes jump around.i feel like i have been taken total advantage of, it appears i have been sold a defective car and no one wants to take responsibility for it. Look at the hundreds of similar complaints and chrysler does nothing.
A check engine light illuminated and the dtc code indicated a fault in fuel evap system.a smoke test on the system revealed that the plastic evap tube on the fuel pump had cracked requiring a fuel pump replacement.upon reassembly it was determined that over time the rubber evap hose that runs between the two fuel pumps was either too short of had shrunk in length over time stressing the plastic tube causing it to break.when reconnecting the rubber hose it was apparent that the hose was too short because when the hose was reconnected the evap fitting was pulled several degrees off center.there are two fuel pumps on this model year vehicle.on one pump the plastic tube has a 90 degree bend and the defective pump plastic tube does not have a 90 degree bend.this fuel pump was a back ordered item indicating numerous fuel pump are being replaced.two chrysler mechanics, who did not work on my car, stated this is a common problem and they have replaced a number of fuel pumps recently.chrysler does not cover this repair under their extended warranty and no tsb's or recalls have been issued for this problem.
The fuel gauge is not showing correctly.it reads that the fuel tank is half full then it suddenly drops to empty.the miles to empty gauge is not calculating correctly either.you can not tell how far you really can go before the car will run out of gas.when i attempt to fill the fuel tank, it will not let the fuel flow into the fuel tank.it stops as if it is full, but it is not.
My car won't start at least 4 times a week. You will be driving and it almost stalls. The gas tank fluctuated and does not read the right amount. Also when in reverse it has taken off on it's own at a very high rate of speed. I have had it into the dealership 25 day and 15 times in 9 months and they have replaced the map sensor, the pcm & bcm, the fuel injectors, several sensors and filters all to no avail and this was all just for the not starting.we sent in the lemon law paperwork and chrysler refused to call us back via the dealership and refuses to talk to us when we call the 800 number. Looking at other forums there are several people with this same problem and chrysler also ignores their complaints.
I was stopped at a red light.when i put my foot on the accelerator to resume driving, the car began to shake and then it cut off.i had to pull over as quickly as possible.if a car had been driving behind me fast, i could have gotten hit in the back which could have been traumatic or even fatal.i had to have the car towed.the dealership that it was taken to diagnosed the major problem as the 2 fuel pumps needed replacing; in addition to other items.the vehicle only has 126,000 miles. There are other people having the same problem with the pacifica (2006 and 2008 models as well).chrysler needs to admit that their fuel pumps are faulty and replace them before a fatality happens and, in addition to replacing the pumps, they are faced with lawsuits.
A check engine light illuminated and the dtc code indicated a fault in fuel evap system. A smoke test on the system revealed that the plastic tube on the fuel pump had snapped off requiring a fuel pump replacement. The fuel pumps are connected by a hose which sits on top of the fuel tank. The connection point at the on the primary fuel pump snapped off.the fuel pump, and tank is mounted above the exhaust system, so it's probably not an ideal situation to have defective parts leaking small amounts of gasoline on top off hot exhaust.also, after completing repairs my gas mileage improved by 10%.i have saved the defective part incase its needs for failure analysis.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. After the contact added fuel to the vehicle, fuel leaked out of the tank. Thirty minutes later, the fuel gauge displayed the correct amount of fuel, but then changed to empty. Also, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 202,000. Updated 06/29/16*ljupdated 07/06/16.
The fuel pumps in the gas tanks stop working. They wont pump fuel from one tank to the other. My gas gage shoes full then when it get a little below half im out of gas because the pumps are not pumping gas from one side to the other side. I had new pumps put in 2,000 miles ago and the went out already. Chrysler need to recall this problem. I'm not the only one that is having this problem. We as chrysler owners cant afford to pay for this all the time. I know for a fact there is a chrysler dealer that said he has them coming in like a revolving door. I cant trust the car to go on long trips. I love the car other than this problem. Thank you for reading this.i hope something get done. I called the chrysler customer service center but got nowhere with them.
After my 2007 chrysler pacifica fuel gauge gets below 1/2 tank, the gauge starts dropping at an alarming rate. If i drive 1 mile it reacts indicating as much as a 10 mile drop. While sitting at a stop light the gas gauge jumps around between 2 and 3 miles differences.i do not get a full 20 gallon drive from my vehicle. I can fill up the car but once the gauge indicates it's empty the car will not start.i logged it as only showing 320 miles and going empty, when full the gauge indicates 400 miles. This reading is changing now on a weekly basis.i have looked on the internet and other people are complaining about the same problem with this car.

Much difficulty in filling the fuel tank, the pump handle would continuously shut off, as though the tank was full, we had to repeatedly operate the handle off and on for several minutes.the fuel gauge would never show the tank as full.it would also, during normal operation, reach half empty, then plunge to empty, sometimes illuminating the empty light!!we were told by our chrysler service manager, on three separate occasions, that our car was repaired, it was not repaired !!!! $1500 on a new fuel tank, and hundreds on rental cars later, our car is still not fixed!!!never again!!!!

Vehicle couldn't pass emissions, had to take it shop for small evap leak. This service cost me $900 to fix and during service fuel pump module needed replacing do to how car was made to fix leakage. This still didn't turn off lights in dashboard had to pay another $50 for esim(loose fuel cap) had already replaced fuel cap twice.
The gas gauge drops to absolute zero and the low fuel warning comes on even though there is plenty of gas in the tank. This causes a check engine light with the code u1403. There are many owners of 2004-2007 chrysler pacificas that have this exact same problem. The general consensus on forums specific to this common problem is there is a gas pressure problem that causes the gauge to not read correctly. People who have taken their car to the dealer for repair report that the dealers usually say the solution is to replace both fuel pumps. Customers, however, report that this is expensive and usually does not fix the problem (check engine light stays on). Most owners say the problem stems from the poorly designed saddle tank and believe the problem is with the gas pressure. I contacted chrysler and they were no help at all. Two separate customer service reps told me to take it to the dealer. There have been hundreds if not thousands of 2004-2007 pacifica owners (i also found many jeep forums with the same problem) and surely chrysler has a record of these problems and how to fix them. Having each owner take their car to their local chrysler dealer with no common documented fix means each owner is relying on techs that may or may not be aware of this problem and the proper way to fix it.trial and error each time is extremely wasteful and expensive for thousands of owners. A recall would at least ensure that each service center has the correct instructions on what is exactly wrong and precisely how to fix it.
This vehicle has had one major issue with the fuel system. When the fuel gauge gets to half way, the gauge drops to e and does not want to accept gas. It acts like it's full and you can barely put any gas in. When this happens the vehicle acts like it's out of gas even when it's not causing me to run out of gas while driving down the interstate and sometimes the car won't even start when it drops below half way.also, my odometer reads gascap like there's a leak but it's a brand new gas cap. I've read days worth of information on the world wide web and this is the most common issue but noone has done anything about it. It is not fair to the consumer. I know i will never buy another chrysler and i will warn others not to also. Not only that but my seatbelts do not work anymore, two of them anyway. My kids have to sit in the far back to buckle up. I bought this vehicle used. I've had the fuel pumps replaced, the vapor canister and vapor filter replaced, gas cap, ect. Nothing repairs the issue. I know now why the previous owner gave it up, if i didn't have to pay a down payment, i would have already let it go back.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the fuel level gauge would return to empty after refueling to capacity. The vehicle would only consume half a tank of fuel and when refueling, the contact had to slowly allow the gasoline to flow into the fuel tank.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the right and left fuel module would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was unknown. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 115,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the fuel tank could not be filled to capacity. In addition, the vehicle was consuming gasoline at a rapidly abnormal pace.the fuel level gauge also provided inaccurate readings. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000 and the current mileage was 88,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that when she added two and a half gallons of fuel, the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was empty and the low fuel warning light illuminated. The failure recurred daily.the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.the approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
"takata recall" the vehicle will only take a little fuel at a time, itwill only takeabout 5-6 gallons per fueling stops and it wil no longer accept any fuel, there is a strong fuel odor after fueling inside of the vehicle, plus the fuel gauge shows empty right after putting fuel in the tank, let me add that this has happened at least 3 times within the last 11 years of owning the vehicle. We purchased the vehicle as a "program vehicle" in 2007 and it has been a good vehicle, i am just glad we purchased the extended warranty.we purchased this vehicle when it had 29,000 miles on it, it now has 202,000 plus miles on it.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the fuel gauge level was not reading accurately and causing difficulty when refueling. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. While fueling the vehicle the contact had to fuel the vehicle manually because the pump would stop fueling as if the tank was full. The fuel gauge also provided inaccurate readings. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test. The mechanic stated that there was a failure with the fuel system, but was unable to diagnose the exact issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.
While driving on interstate rt 80 i experienced aloud noise and smoke and flames were coming from the engine. Pulled over and got myself and my granddaughter out of her car seat. The engine continued to burn until the fire dept come.
Car stalls randomly while driving with no warning or engine codes to repair leaving you with no power steering or brakes. This same problem was recalled on the 2005 and 2006 models with f44 safety recall, but not on the 2007 and 2008. Happened 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
When i started the car, the check engine light came on and the word 'gascap' appeared in place of the car's mileage.i read the owner's manual and followed directions to reset the message after tightening gas cap.it had no effect.i went to autozone and had them run a free diagnostic scan which returned the diagnosis of: evaporative emission system leak. I installed a new gas cap and followed directions to reset message.the check engine light and 'gascap' message remain.
Power door locks unexpectedly unlocked while driving 45 mph.
Warrant of merchantability- implied warranty that states a vehicle will run like it's supposed to run, applying to the basic functions of the car. The buyer must prove a defect was present at the time of purchase.'car did not start x2 at dealer and required a jump start- i was informed it was a result of being low on gas and having sat out in the hot sun.uniform commercial code- dealer disclaimed a warrant of mechanic ability, giving the consumer the right to challenge the disclaimer using the federal uniform commercial (ucc).the ucc can be used to cancel the sale of a used car.unfair and deceptive acts and practices (udap law) - these laws can be used even if the car is sold as is, as long as the dealer is guilty of a verbal deception or failure to disclose information about the vehicle.'2007 chrysler pacifica'i purchased the car less than 1 month ago and have driven less than 2000 miles.i am extremely upset because i believe that heritage knowingly sold me an unsound car.the dealer is guilty of verbal deception and failure to verbally disclose information about the vehicle.'this car was involved in an accident and i was not made aware of the severity of the accident or the issues the car had as a result. ' i have attempted to get the car serviced and repaired to little avail.the car continues to have serious mechanical issues( indicating a frame issue or drive train issue)' i believe the dealer knowingly sold the car to me and purposely withheld the extent of damage the car had in the prior accident, as well as the car's improper basic functioning.the consumer protection act unfair trade practices: falsely represented the car as a safe, car without major defects, and no problems with any parts of the car- presented the car as being sound and able to adhere to basic functioning (battery issues, electrical issues, brake issues, drive train issues, involved a mvc) and did not disclose history of part.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact was driving approximately 35 mph with the parking brake engaged unknowingly from the prior day. The parking brake light illuminated on the instrument panel. The parking brake was disengaged, followed by an abrupt stop. The vehicle failed to proceed in a forward direction. The gear was shifted into reverse and then into the drive position. The vehicle was able to continue normally. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The technician was unable to duplicate the problem and stated the brake pedal functioned as designed. The failure mileage was 16,169.
Vehicle is parked in the garage and unable to put the car in reverse to back out. After googling the problem ,it seems that many owners have had this issue and discussing with chrysler customer service their answer was to engage the pink plastic button inside shifter console which i'm afraid did not work for me. I've since released the cable inside the hood to free up the shifter and now in the shop for repair. Chrysler is aware of this issue and made corrections for the 05-07 300's&chargers but neglected the pacificas, for what reason i don't know.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle vibrated and jolted. The failure occurred without any warnings. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose exact failure with the transmission. As a result, the contact was referred to dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not taken to dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 104,000.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate and the power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the power train control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was serviced two years prior under nhtsa campaign id number: 06v432000 (power train).the vehicle was to be inspected and repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80000.
When depressing the accelerator, the car makes a grinding or clunking noise . We lifted the hood, put the car in drive and depressed the parking brake. We then applied accelerator and the front of the engine lifted from the motor mount a good 2 or 3 inches. This is extremely dangerous and this actually started doing this shortly after i purchased it in june of 2014.it had 97000 miles and now has 117000 miles.i am fearful of having the engine come completely off the frame.i am taking it to my independent mechanic next week. I cannot believe with all the complaints that this model has that it has not been recalled.i guess since no one has died yet or been seriously injured the manufacturer must feel fairly confident that they will just wait till everyone stops buying them.well, i am selling my car after it is fixed. I have already had to have the shifter replaced because that went out about 3 months ago and my mechanic had to replace it.i think i should be reimbursed for that as well, and you can be sure i am keeping all of my receipts for repairs that i should not even have to make on an 8 year old vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving various speeds, the vehicle lost power without warning. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred several times.
My car is stuck in park, without any engine lights or fore warning i became stranded drove to my dr appointment the day before no issues.went home and parked all day then went to leave again and this happened car starts but will not shift out of park
The reverse clutch burnt out. The car was parked and wouldn't go in reverse. The car is in limp mode. The rpms are ranging high because it can't shift properly. The transmission is about to go out completely.
Transmission split apart it made a loud noise like a piece was just flying around in drive then all the transmission fluid flew out everywhere and the transmission is split i do have pictures. Please see attached.
The transmission shifter interlock lever, a small plastic part within the shifter assembly of certain automatic transmission vehicles of the chrysler marquee has a hook to which a spring is attached.when the hook breaks, the vehicle cannot be moved because the shifter lever will become locked in the "park" position.the chrysler corporation, in an agreement with nhtsa (as i have been made aware) voluntarily recalled several chrysler products which shared this part, under their "customer satisfaction notification k39".those vehicles, chrysler 300, dodge magnum and charger (2005-2007), probably many thousands, were all repaired at no charge to owners.you must be aware that this identical part, interchangeable with the above-mentioned vehicles, is installed in chrysler pacifica vehicles. But the "voluntary" recall excluded any pacifica vehicle. There are many hundreds, if not thousands of pacifica vehicles, including my own, for which this part has broken.a short investigation on the web will document my assertion.this problem can occur at any time, and, under certain circumstances could be considered a safety-related issue.i cannot currently place my vehicle into the "park" position for fear that i will be required to tow or disassemble the car to move it.this is an intolerable situation, and i demand your effort to add chrysler pacifica vehicles to this recall.
Purchased a used 2007 chrysler pacifica (6-speed auto) from chrysler dealer with around 40k miles.immediately noticed that the transmission shift points were not what they should be.there were very noticeable bangs when the car shifted gear.returned car to dealer who stated that there was a service bulletin to reflash shift points.the work was completed and car appeared to shift more normally but still felt some good bumps when shifting.took car to dealer for second service trip and they stated that motor mounts needed replaced.i searched the internet and found an unending list of identical problems.the motor mounts have failed from 2004 till the present.something needs to be done about this.
Upper housing shock underneath the hood rotted off the side wall. Other side starting to rot off to
When the gas gauge goes down to a half a tank the gage goes all the way to empty. Very annoying because i have no idea how much gas i really have. Then when i try to fill it up it take about 15 minutes to get $20.00 worth of gas in the tank. It will only take about 25 cents at a time before the gas pump shutts off and i have to wait a couple seconds for the gas to go down the filler tube.also i have had problems with the motor mounts. They seem to keep breaking.these problems seem to be all over the internet. My problem is not isolated.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact started the ignition and had to use extreme force in order to move the shift lever from park to drive. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer two times where they informed the contact that the motor mount was fractured. The vehicle was repaired each time. The most recent repair was performed in august of 2012. The failure had not recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 85,087.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while trying to accelerate to highway speeds of 70 mph, the vehicle began to drag and feel heavy. In addition, the gears would not shift correctly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where the contact was advised that the motor mounts collapsed, causing the transmission to fall and rest on the frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired for the motor mounts. The contact stated that the motor mounts were repaired three times prior to the most recent failure. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure and the current mileages were approximately 87,500. The vin was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stopped accelerating. I purchased a '07 chrysler pacifica in february. I've had nothing but problems with the car.i had to have the motor mount replaced.i had problems with it shuttering and acting as though it doesn't shift between 30-35 mph. I've had the torque converter replaced on it as well.after that i've had to have the tie rods replaced, and the struts. Since i've noticed that almost everyone is having the torque converter and motor mount problems as well as other chrysler vehicles this should be addressed.since i've had the torque converter removed while it was still in shop i get my car back and when you let go of the steering wheel it veers completely to the left.now the dealership is trying to clean their hands and saying it's a defect with the car; they have to contact chrysler.hello-it didn't do this before i took it in and now it is since they've 'fixed' it.it's actually unbelievable since so many car manufacturers are failing you'd think they'd recall this problem, fix it and keep what reputation they have left.
2007 chrysler pacifica.
Power steering fails completely for about 30 seconds or more.this occurs when the vehicle travels through any water on the road that may splash into the engine compartment.the steering belt gets wet and will slip (making a screeching noise until it spins off the water and dries).the power assisted steering will stop completely not allowing the driver to maneuver the vehicle until the power steering is restored.this problem will cause the driver not to be able to change the direction of the vehicle in any direction to complete a turn or avoid a collision!it is very dangerous and can occur without warning.we are looking into the problem.it maybe that a splash guard was left off and not replace during a previous service.this has not been confirmed to be the fix.we will update this post once this is confirmed to be the fix.
2007 pacifica 4l engine turns off while driving.also shifts rough into 2nd gear.dealer recommends motor mounts be replaced for rough transmission.no solution offered for stalling other than to replace battery that is not defective.traction control light on all the time with esp/bas light on all the time.no solutions offered to actually fix problems, just cost money.car losing power is safety concern.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled intermittently without warning. The contact coasted to the shoulder of the roadway, turned the vehicle off and waited approximately 15 min for the vehicle to resume normal operation. The vehicle was taken to jack wolf chrysler jeep (1615 n state st, belvidere, il 61008) to be diagnosed however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. The technician stated that the failure may be due to the tipm but, was unable to say for sure that the failure was caused by the tipm. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle tow times and determined that the control board was fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provide the contact with a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
My family and i was at the airport when it just shuts off. Will start fine but stalls when put in drive(.reverse works) i had to have my car towed from the airport. My mechanic cannot find the problem.

Just bought vehicle and driving on the highway with small children when the car surged and abruptly stalled momentarily on a 60 mph hwy. Would only drive in 1at and 2nd gear and had no way to exit off highway. Almost caused a car pile up as the vehicle behind me had to stomp on brakes abruptly. Mechanics are saying transmission. I haven't even had this for a week. It was extremely unsafe and i was terrified as i had 5 little lives in the vehicle at that time.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
When i tried to drive my car out of my garage, i could not move the shift lever out of "park".i later learned that a part in the shift linkage assembly had broken.in fact, this broken part, a lockout over-ride, has been replaced under a recall of all other chrysler and dodge products which have this part installed.but for the chrysler pacifica, which has the identical part, no recall has been issued.i have been driving my car around, but have not been able to use the "park" position of the shift lever.if i inadvertently placed the shift lever into"park", say at a railroad crossing, i would not be able to move the car!this a dangerous and safety-related problem, and i want nhtsa to force chrysler to recall my car and all other pacifica's with this problem, and replace this lockout override.
07 pacifica touring was brought in for transmission shuttering and was told that the torque converter was bad and was a recall, so it's covered under warranty, but 2 motor mounts are "hanging on by rubber" at 70,000 miles.service claims the two are not related.motor mounts are not covered under warranty.
Oil light continues to come on (red) for no reason. I've been told the power transfer unit is going out

My chrysler pacifica hasseveral problems with transmission. Recently the transmission wont shift past 2nd. I don't know what to do or how much it cost.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact was unable to move the shifter out of park. The vehicle was diagnosed and the brake transmission shift interlock was replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 18,658.

I had my 2007 pacifica in park position with the engine on.i put my foot on the brake to reverse the car out of parking space.the gear shift lever would not release and go into reverse.i had to have the car towed to the dealer to repair.cost me over $500 (part #4880276-ab shifter t21030407). Being stuck in traffic is very dangerous.

Purchased car a year ago. Replaced both front output seals and inner transmission seal. Over 1000$. Just replaced left rear differential seal only to find out the right side can't be replaced without buying a new differential.
I have had multiple issues with my 2007 chrysler pacifica-from the beginning a popping and clicking noise from the transmissions/results from dealership motor mounts went bad repaired several times over the years.another issue is my car is just go dead while driving on the freeways/streets etc. I took it to the dealership and they have not been able to repair or see the issue. I know it's something wrong and this is scary driving this car.

Shudder at idle and harsh transmission engagement and or clunk when shifting out of reverse.
I took my car in for transmission issues, ever time i would change my gears the suv would jerk. I took it in, and they said i had a broken front and rear motor mound. So they replaced the front, and orders a rear. After leaving the that day my esp/bass light came on and my power light can my car rear tires were locking. I called them the next day and took it in 2 days later due to being booked, and they fix the rear mound, but said nothing was wrong with the esp/bass light and the other lights. My transmission is still jerking when driving. So i took it to their other dealership, i told her my engine light cam on and will not turn off now. My car seem to want to die. I got scared, and stopped waited 30mins then turned it back on, and lights were still on. So now my transmissions jerks, they said they fixed my motor mounds and that would fix it, but didn't. My brakes are now knocking, and they said it will do that because the car notices water on road so they knock. Lol that full of it. Yesterday there was no rain, and they were knocking when i would brake. Very scary. My car sometimes feel like it's going to die when i take off. They said there's nothing wrong. When i hit a bump, the front end sound like there's something loose . Feels like my engine is just sitting there. One of the tech told me when i went in the last time which was 12-17-07 the had a recall on motor mounds due to my engine being so powerful it brakes the ones on there due to using same 06 models mounds. So i told them why haven't i been informed of this. They said well when they brake you just come in. Just to let you know, i haven't even paid my first car note. I picked it up yesterday, and still it jerks and when i push the brake in the shifter is knocking now!! i told them i going to see about the lemon law, they said i don't have one. Where do i stand. I have three children and i feel this car is unsafe for us, they make me feel like i'm crazy when i tell them about what's going on.
My new 2007 chrysler pacifica has and nothing but transmission problems!i had a torque converter replaced at less than 1000 miles and have had it in to have the transmission looked at twice in the past 6 months.the first time was told nothing was wrong- the second time they "flashed" something based on a service bulletin.the transmission has continually shifted very hard from gear to gear.this morning, the transmission is out completely and the car will not shift at all.
Car jerks forward or backward when moving car into gear.
I purchased a 2007 chrysler pacifica in may 2007.starting in january 2008 i started having problems with the car...shuttering, idle problems.in march 2008 i had to have a new torque converter put in the car.now, august, 2008 and 8000 miles later i got in the car one morning and it was making a horrific squealing noise and come to find out again i have transmission problems and need another torque converter plus a transmission pump.apparently the pump is on backorder and i am 1 of 3 people in the united states on a waiting list waiting for one.my car has been sitting in the shop for over 3 weeks now because of the problem.the chrysler mechanic has no idea when the part may come in.this is ridiculous in my opinion.an almost brand new car with these kind of problems.the craziest thing is that after owning the car for 6 months last year, i find out that chrysler doesn't even put a transmission dipstick under the hood.you have to take the car to a chrysler dealer to have it worked on or checked.that is just wrong.i don't know if there is any type of lemon law or what on this because i have researched and found out i am one of many who has had these transmission problems with the 2007 chrysler pacifica.please advise me if i have any rights in this matter.
2007 pacifica transmission shudders when lugging down, most noticeable when car is in 4th gear at 1800-2500 rpm. Also have very harsh shift when going into and out of 2nd gear. After two complaints and test drive was told that it was normal and also that the tsp's out did not apply to my vehicle vin. The service manager sent my complaints to chrysler and they directed local dealer to reprogram transmission and replace torqueconverter. Due to number of same complaints chrysler should take initiative and have recall instead of making each individual owner go through this nonsense.
My 2007 fwd pacifica has been to the service center 4 times since i purchased it (april 2008) - for the same issue.the transmission shifts very "clunky" and shudders in & out of gear while driving. At the 3rd shop visit the torque converter was replaced & computer reflashed - problem came back in about 300 miles. Last visit - reflash again - dealer called chrysler & was told that they (chrysler) is aware of the problem but are not doing anything at this point in time.the car is still shifting horrible - much worse if i use the ac, sometimes the engine fan comes on & won't shut back off (until the next morning), and now while i am at red lights, the car feels like it is about to stall & shakes very bad (the first time this happened i actually thought someone rear-ended me - that's how bad it shakes!)i talked to the dealer where i purchased it about returning it - but they will not give me close to what i paid for it.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.while driving at an unknown speed, the contact stated that the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning.the dealer did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The manufacturer was aware of the issue.the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who replaced the transmission. The current mileage was 40,900 and the failure mileage was 40,819.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.while driving approximately 40 mph, the engine revs, the vehicle will not accelerate, and the gears will not shift.the vehicle has been to the dealer seven times.the current mileage was 3,000 and failure mileage was 200.
We own a 2007 pacifica, we love this car, but the transmission is so bad, we have taken it to the dealer 8 times to have the problem fixed. To no avail it is still not fixed, the problem with the transmission is a shifting issue it just does not shift all the time. The dealer has flashed the computer, rebuilt the transmission, and replaced the torque converter, still nothing works. Chrysler will not replace the transmission though, even though i think there is a defect somewhere in the transmission for nothing at all to fix the problem.of course now it is out of warranty so now they will be happy to change the transmission yeah for 4200.00. I just wish there was something that could be done about this scam that chrysler fed me. It is to bad too, as i have owned chryslers for over 25 years and this is how they treat there loyal customers.will not be buying anymore chryslers.
I have a 2007 pacifica, it started shaking bad.took it into the dealer and the motor mounts where replaced.at the sametime the torqueconverter was also replaced.because the torque converter would unlock when given a little we took the car back three times for this problem.the dealer says that this was normal????but we don't think so.
I am sure that you are swamped with toyota issues, but we chrysler owners are getting upset at the performance also.broken motor mounts, torque converters, rough idles, stalling, bumping gears, etc.my 2007 chrysler pacifica is the roughest transmission i have ever driven in my 38 plus years of driving, stalling on morning start-ups, banging noises in the front around turns, and the list goes on.chrysler must do something on this discontinued pacifica model, the 4.0 litre touring.like most owners of the chrysler piece, this is the last chrysler i will ever own, or perhaps maybe they, or no-one even cares.these numerous repeating complaints should be taken care of, or does it take deaths to get attention, and how many does it take?is 54 enough, as i read in the usa today about how many gas and brake related deaths are being investigated because of toyota greed?
My transmission problems started with my 2007 chrysler pacifica when it was shifted from automatic drive to automatic stick while driving the car. I brought it into the dealer when i discovered the engine light continued to illuminate after this incident. They had done an engine and a transmission diagnostic to find that there were error codes displayed from the transmission,re-set it, and advised that i will need a new transmission.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.while driving approximately 50 mph, the contact stated that the automatic transmission failed to shift to second gear without warning.the dealer was not informed since the vehicle was no longer under warranty, nor did the contact inform the manufacturer.the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who performed a diagnostic test which confirmed that a relay switch was damaged due to water and without it the computer malfunctioned. The engine mount also failed causing the torque converter to deposit shards of metal into the rubber seal around the torque converter and as a result he needed to have the transmission rebuilt.the private mechanic was performing the repairs.the current and failure mileage was 86,000. The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.the contact was driving approximately 60 mph when he applied pressure to the accelerator pedal but the vehicle would not respond.the contact allowed the vehicle to decelerate to approximately 40 mph before he was able to accelerate successfully. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose or duplicate the failure.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure recurred intermittently.the failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.
Driven shuddering occurred intermittently at speed 30-65mph. Almost stall car twice.
Transmission shudders at 1800 rpm, chrysler says there working on a tsb to correct problem but in "might" not be out for several months.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.in july of 2007, while driving 35 mph, the vehicle would not accelerate.the dealer performed a diagnostic and found no failures with the vehicle.the contact continued to drive the vehicle; however, the failure persisted.after taking the vehicle to the dealer on several occasions, the contact was informed at her last visit that the torque converter was defective.in october of 2007, the torque converter was replaced and later replaced again in july of 2008.immediately following both repairs, the vehicle continued to experience the same failure.in addition, the vehicle made a clicking noise.she took the vehicle to another dealer and was informed that the upper strut mount and bearings were defective.the vehicle was repaired, but the failure still persists.the current mileage was 22,750 and failure mileage was 900. The vehicle would not shift into high gear in a timely manner or smoothly upon acceleration. The lower gear shifting was very rough.updated 11/26/08.
I have informed chyrsler about this problem - regarding the transmission on my 2007 pacifica but they tell me this is normal.
The contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the fuel pump would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, who then stated that the power train control module would have to be reprogrammed. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 06v432000 (power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm) that could have been related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
I purchased 2007 pacifica in feb 07, within 2 months had been back to dealer twice for knocking while driving and vehicle feeling like it wanted to stall, also for extremely "rough ride" when traveling over the smallest of bumps in road.dealer serviced vehicle twice, once replacing torque converter and once replacing motor mounts.the problems continue, although less than before.
Updated 09/11/07
Purchasednew 2007 chrysler pacifica. At approx. 1,000 miles driven shuddering occurred intermittently but frequently. Returned to dealer in early oct. 2007. Said could not duplicate.problem still occurred. Returned to dealer again a few days later.told we had defective torque converter. The part was ordered and replaced in nov.2007.shortly after replacement shuddering returned. Again intermittent. Usually occurs between 20-40 mph and often times on inclines. (similiar to driving over rumble strips) continued reporting the problem and returning to dealer. Over 6 times now as of jan.2008. Each time their response is they cannot duplicate the problem. Other issues such as driver's side speaker not working right, now it's on the 3rd attempt to fix.recently, the passenger side mirror was stuck in place and controls wouldn't move it.that was fixed. Left blinker stays on intermittently. When brought to their attention, they claim they cannot duplicate problem. Contacted chrysler 2x in january esp. Regarding torque converter problem. During the course of all this we became aware of numerous others who have same problem. Also read tsb's issued prior toand after purchase of our vehicle. One states problem cannot be duplicated. Yet, chrysler's response is that if it cannot be duplicated bring it to another dealer! i told them at this point and the info. I gathered i do not believe it is a dealer problem, they have a faulty product.. I have 3 young children and purchased a vehicle to have a safe & reliable vehicle. One of my chidlren has epilepsy and i never no when she'll need emergency care. I have tried unsuccessfully for months to resolve this problem, first with the dealer & now with chrysler. I am not one to file complaints or take other avenues, but this experience with chrysler has left me no alternative. To date, my vehicle has been out of service 11 days.
After the car was a month old a thumping started underneath upon starting.at times the thumping (shuddering) is severe and the engine does not start.after the transmission was reprogrammed (i doubt it was really done as there is no sticker underthe hood as required) the car, sometimes, lurches like a new driver with standard shift.the car, sometimes at around 32mph, surges or pulses.the climate control has not worked according to the instructions in the manual since day one.now in coldweather, when it is directed to the floor, so much heat comes from the defroster that i get a headache and the floor is freezing.there is a clunking in the right front on nearly any road surface.i do not feel that it is a ball joint, but rather a strut.i scheduled an arbitration, but ncds did not botherto let me know if the arbitrator could make the meeting, so i did not attend.the meeting proceeded without me and the arbitrator and chrysler seem to feel that everything my car does is normal.i have been in the auto repair business for 40 years and have better things to do than make up problems.

Engine light on for more than a week. Did not notice anything different while driving. Took vehicle in to have inspection 6/14/2009, and found error codes after diagnostic test was performed on the transmission. Was then quoted $8,000 to tear down and inspect, labor, and new transmission.
I was in a rear end collision with my 2007 chrysler pacifica. I was hit from behind by a car that was traveling 50 mph and shoved into the vehicle in front of me. My air bag did not go off and my drivers seat broke upon my being thrust back after initial forward thrusting causing my legs to go up under the dash causing injury to my legs and a torn disc in my back from the seat breaking.
Driver seatloose parts causing seat bounce back and forward during driving.
It was raining out and i was decreasing speed pulling into a turning lane, the car lost steering and brakes until i was able to get it off the road and turn it off and restart it.
My husband was driving the car 2 days after we purchased it. He was coming down a slight incline and trying to yield and turn at an intersection.the power steering went out and the brakes locked up so he could not stop or control the direction of the vehicle. It was very scary with young children in the back seats! no warning lights or sounds alerted him to the failure of the steering or brakes.
While driving, the engine just stopped/stalled. Steering, brake and gas pedals stopped functioning. I have to wait until the car fully stopped. Scary and feels so helpless in the middle of the road!
This is not the first time that my car has stalled out while going under 40 mph, also when making a turn it will stall and i have no brakes or power steering! it is very scary. I almost got hit because of this issue!! i have researched it and found that there are numerous complaints about the chrysler pacifica's stalling under the same conditions as mine. There needs to be a recall or something needs to be done. Especially since it is my family car and i have two daughters under the age of 3. I do not want or need a fatality wreck to occur before they do something! i am extremely scared to drive now and it is our only vehicle!
Im worried i dont have a nother vehicle .
The vehicle was turning into parking space, acted like the traction control engaged, power steering function was lost. Vehicle was put in park, engine turned off. Restarted at that time. Owner assumed incident resulted from a slip on fresh rain concrete and resulted in traction control engagement due to sensitivity of traction control feature. This is really not necessary at < 10 mph.second incident:one week later to the day on july 10, 2015, the vehicle rolled to a stop on residential road. The vehicle passed over an insignificant, small pile of dead loosed grass on right side of vehicle during its rolling to a stop mode. Vehicle steering locked up and engine stalled. Owner made numerous attempts to restart but had to wait 10 minutes before vehicle would restart and park it. Dealership has been notified-appointment scheduled to diagnose.
Loud thumping sound when brakes are applied. Sound seems to be coming from right rear brake. Dealer has replaced slipper part # 5102476-aa,caliper # 5114440-aa,brake rotor #4721240-af and hub brake 4721354-ab. This has not solved the problem. Dealer states they have requested help from chrysler on this problem but i have had no response from the dealer as of 02/20/2010.
From the time the car was new when the abs or traction control was engaged the car made a clicking noise.as never having a car with this feature i thought was normal.in march of 2010 my brakes failed on my 07 pacifica.upon taking the car to the dealer i was informed that there was contaminated fluid in the brake system and the entire system had to be replaced.new calipers, abs module, lines, hoses master cylinder ect.the bill was $2500 which i had to pay because they are claiming contaminated fluid.i had been the only person to service the brakes on that car and did not add fluid when replacing the front pads.when the failure occurred the car would come to a stop and start rolling again.i avoided crashing by standing on the pedal as hard as i could.after replacing the entire brake system the clicking has stopped.i have driven chrysler/ dodge cars for 12 years... This one may be my last.
I believe there is a problem with chrysler pacificas abssystem. I had a 2005 that after 7 attempts to correct the problem of the warning light staying on, chrysler took the car back. I now have a 2006 chrysler pacifica that has already been serviced once for the abs sensor being defective and it will be serviced again on thursday for the same reason. Abs light stays lit. I have 18,000 miles on the 2006 and it will have been serviced twice for the same problem. It seems to me that this is an ongoing problem with this type of car. Have you any data on this problem.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel veered to the right. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failure. The dealer replaced the bushing, the cradle, and the motor mounts; however, the remedy failed to repair the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 67,000.
Esp bas light came on and the steering wheel started to move left to keep the car going straight.suddenly the right front tire hit the wheel housing and stopped.upon inspection it was revealed the the cradle holding the front suspension had rusted and broke off. I was driving on a two lane state road and was able to pull to the shoulder.

My chrysler pacifica has a power steering problem. Powersteering goes out while driving every once and a while. Now it has been happening daily. There seems to be a leak and on one occasion smell of burning from the engine. I have seen that this has been a issue with 2007 chrysler pacificas and i have children in the vehicle. It is dangerous and should be addressed! also car shuts of while driving which is also very dangerous!!!
While driving, the engine just stopped/stalled. Steering, brake and gas pedals stopped functioning. I have to wait until the car fully stopped. Scary and feels so helpless in the middle of the road!
Steering wheel shakes violently everytime when '07 chrysler pacifica is slowing down. Brought in for service and was told the car needed a new front motor mount.not covered under any warranty.search of the internet shows multiple problems of chrsyler pacifica motor mount replacement, and needing to replace multiple times.dealership only guarantees new motor mount for 12 months, or 12,000 miles.
My engine light has been on since i got the care in may of 2012-, i have always had problems with air going low on the drivers side front tire, and recently my steering has become hard to move even though it has power steering has fluid in it. At times the vehicle will shut off when i back out or come to a stop at a light or stop sign.
Vehicle caught fire.fire started in the engine, but was not noticed when the vehicle was shut off.it smoldered then ignited entire vehicle.nothing unusual was noticed when driving the vehicle, or when shutting off the engine. The engine size is 4.0 ltr.
When turning to the right or the left i can hear a rubbing type noise.i took it into the two different dealers on two separate occasions complaining of the noise, but the dealers could not duplicate the problem.when i turn i hear a rubbing noise and now when i reverse there is a loud grinding/rubbing noise similar to the noise that i get when turning.the noise generally occurs first thing in the morning after i have started my car and reverse it.if my car has been sitting for a while it will do the noise then too!i'm unsure what is causing the noise and since the dealers can't duplicate it they have not done anything either.i'm quite concerned as to what can be causing these noises and i do believe that they are linked!i noticed another pacifica owner had the same problem as i did so now i know it's not just my car.
When cornering at low speeds there is a loud rubbing noise (like a tire rubbing in the wheel well) coming from the front of the vehicle.i can feel it both in the steering wheel and brake pedal.when i got new tires, i had the mechanic check the wheel wells for rub marks and he did not find any.he stated that the tires were not rubbing anywhere.
Grinding noise from power steering when drving

Several instances of stalling with absolutely no warning at approximately 40 mph.car does start back up but stalls at random intervals. Has been seen at multiple shops with no errors, codes or problems found.
When turning the steering, mostly to the right, at low speeds there is a rubbing, vibration coming from the front of the vehicle which is quite loud and can be felt as a shudder through the steering wheel.i took the vehicle into my local dealership but they were unable to replicate this problem due to the fact that it is an intermittent issue. I no longer have warranty on the vehicle but feel that chrysler should take care of any issue that is reported during the warranty period but not fixed during that time. I fear that eventually a steering failure will occur which may have major consequences.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.the contact stated that the vehicle loses power while driving between 15 to 60 mph.the failure has occurred seven times since the vehicle was purchased.right after the failure, the low oil pressure indicator illuminated on the instrument panel.the driver experienced limited ability to steer and stop the vehicle during the failure.the vehicle is able to be immediately restarted after the failure.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for repair on four occasions.on the first occasion, the dealer stated that they could not duplicate the failure; however, they updated the software.on the second occasion, the dealer duplicated the failure and replaced the throttle body.on the third occasion, the emissions indicator illuminated and an erroneous evaporation code appeared.the computer was reset at that time.on the fourth visit to the dealer, three loose electrical grounds were found and tightened; however, the failure continued.the previous owner also experienced the failures, but the manufacturer was unable to determine the cause.the failure mileage was 21,150 and current mileage was 23,250. Updated 3/5/09 updated 03/10/09.
Rear engine mounts are defective in vehicle, the engine is shifting within the car causing it to hit the transmission.additionally, the control arm within the car is broken and loose.there was a recall on the 2008 chrysler pacifica for the same problem because the driver can loose control of the vehicle while in operation.my 2007 is currently being looked at for this issue.cause as stated by mechanic: internal failure of the steering gear and both lower control arms bushings broken and loose.
September 8, 2008, my wife was driving our 2007 pacifica. Power steering failed, she attempted to park the car in a parkingspace in front of a retail store.smoke appeared from hood area, fluid leaked out from under front end, flames erupted. Fire departmentwas there in several minutes to extinguish the blaze, but not beforedamage was done to the building and another vehicle parked next to the pacifica. Front end of car completely burned. Chrysler orderedan inspection conducted by an independent adjuster.claims results areinconclusive and has ordered another inspection. Obviously this is not thefirst report of fire caused by power steering fluid leak. We have waitedpatiently for over five weeks.chrysler suggest we settle with ourinsurance company. I am not willing to do that when it is obviously a defect and the car is in warranty. The car only had approximately13,000 miles.

There is a noise coming from suspension or steering. It occurs when backing out and turning.two loud clunks.one when backing up and turning, one when straightening up the wheels. Also, when turning while driving, many times there is a noise coming from steering- feels like a short grind resonating into the steering wheel. At first i though it was a tire hitting on something on the car. I've been complaining about this since the car was new ( 2007 chrysler pacifica).not until last year, did dealer take this seriously and took a look at it.car was in for a total of three or four times.once for as long as three weeks. I am being told the cross member was replaced. Unfortunately, the car is still making the same noises and i am afraid it is a safety issue. Dealer says there is nothing wrong with the car. I think it is a big safety issue.sure feels like something isn't right.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica touring. While driving 35 mph and other speeds, the steering wheel locked. The contact pulled over, turned the vehicle off and restarted it; the power steering reset itself. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer twice where the motor mounts were replaced. The failure continued. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
2007 chrysler pacificawith 38,829 miles need to have both outer tie rod ends replaced. My wife and i are the first owners. I feel that the miles on vehicle are to low for such damage and very close to the basic coverage or the intent of coverage. I will be getting it repaired at my local chrysler dealership.

Chrysler pacifica experienced a power steering fluid leak that due to the location of the leak ignited the engine compartment on fire. The vehicle was totaled and significant property damage was done. Three vehicle occupants were able to escape without bodily injury but were frightened by the incident. Chrylser has not contacted me with any resolution. They replaced the vehicle with another but have not clarified what remedy if any is necessary on all other pacificas.

We purchased a 2007 pacifica brand new and are having motor mount issues after 30,000 miles.when we took the vehicle in and notified the dealer, they stated that the motor mounts are bad and that we'd have to take the car to the chrysler dealer from whom we purchased the car.unfortunately, they have since gone out of business. There are numerous consumers with the same motor mount issue on their chrysler pacificas at this link: http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chrysler-pacifica/tnpd19hvinl2spnh1/p4#lastpost . Please help us.
Water leak, rust on all metal parts of seat, carpets soaked and moldy.1st repair-carpets replaced, water leaked attempted to be fixed, rust painted over.2nd repair-leak fixed, carpets only cleaned not replaced.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While the vehicle was undergoing routine maintenance performed by an independent mechanic, the contact was informed that the vehicle was rusted and the engine cradle was visible. The vehicle was towed to south oak jeep dodge chrysler ram (4550 lincoln hwy, matteson, il 60443, (708) 747-7950), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 160,000. *ln
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While the vehicle was at an independent mechanic undergoing an alignment, the contact was informed that the frame had premature rust. The contact was concerned about the engine falling out of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000. The vin was unknown.
The bottom frame is rusted past repair, in motion/stationary.
2 issues with my 2007 chrysler pacifica. 1: the frame is mostly rust. The main problem with my 2007 chrysler pacifica is the electrical system. The i have had the battery tested and it is good. The starter was replaced and the car continued to start for two more weeks before it hasn't started since.
Engine cradle is rusted thru and cracking making car dangerous to operate known problem on this vehicle and chrysler will not recall car is now worthless as is unsafe to drive even though everything works fine . If engine cradle where to fail when driving total loss of control would be very likely as steering shaft and suspension are all connected to it.
I have a 2007 chrysler pacifica touring that i have had to repair motor mounts several times. When the car is stationaryandthen in motion the problem occurs. When i accelerate the car does not have it's full power potential because acceleration causes the engine to immediately raise up and then quickly drop down. I hear the engine hit the frame with a loud bang when it drops. This happens in motion, on city streets, and the highway. I believe this has caused other engine problems that i have repaired over the years.my motor mount replacement years are2010,2012,2013, and 2016. I have receipts and the last set of mounts. I don't like to drive my grandson around in this car because i feel it is not safe for him. I always try to use my other vehicle to transport children. I have requested help with chrysler and was advised though we helped and replaced your mounts under warranty in 2013, we will no longer help you with mount replacement . We consider it normal ware andtare. Chrysler also advised they will not help because of the cars age and mileage. I have the recording. If this is considered normal than i feel it should have been listed in the consumer vehicle maintenance and repair book. Had i know i would have to re-secure my engine to the frame every year i would have not purchased this vehicle. Now chrysler has released a new pacifica. I am interested to know will this happen with the new chrysler pacifica. Regardless, it is not safe to drive around with the engine unsecured to the vehicle frame.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated while loading the vehicle, the rear lift gate reached its maximum open position and immediately began to close making contact with the contacts shoulder. The vehicle was driven to a chrysler dealer. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 54,000. Updated 10/15/12 the consumer stated the incident was due to failed tailgate struts. When the struts failed, the mechanism went into closed mode and there was no way to stop it. Updated 10/22/12
Upon fast acceleration or braking there was a noticeable mechanical "clunk" and a shift forward or back in weight/momentum.this was due to two broken/defective motor mounts discovered during the course of a 64,000 mile service maintenance check.shortly after dropping the car off for service on 2/17/11 i received a call form the dealer alerting me to the fact that when the accelerator is pressed the engine would rise to within two inches of the interior of the hood. The dealer replaced the mounts and showed me the bad parts and explained why they fail and drain their liquid filler.although my car is well out of warranty i contacted chrysler to ask them to cover the cost of the repair and they told me that this was typical mechanical wear and tear on the vehicle and is not covered in or out of warranty.i personally view this as defective parts and engineering.i have owned many cars over the years and have not had to replace a motor mount.further i simply went on to the internet and googled "motor mounts 2007 pacifica"and came up with many, many cases of the same problems with pacifica's.i cannot speak to the issue of direct safety issues with this problem but surely with a motor improperly secured the potential for danger is paramount.
The vehicle has 37,000 miles on it. According to the dealership, the rear motor mount is broken and needs to be replaced. I find it hard to believe that a motor mount would break at under 40,000 miles.
Updated 09/11/07
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. She would hear loud thumping and grinding , when turning the steering column.she had to use great force in order to turn the steering column. The manufacturer was contacted and after numerous attempts to correct the failure they stated they did not know what the causedthe failure. They also stated they were working on a technical service bulletin to address the failure. The failure mileage was under 100 and the current was 39, 386.updated 01/27/10*ljthe rack and pinion was replaced as well as the sway bar links. Updated 01/28/10 .
Our 2007 pacifica continues to have problems.one chrysler dealer stated it was safe to drive and good to go.2 days later studs on tire broke off. Other side studs were loose and had to be tightened.we took vehicle to another chrysler dealer who inspected vehicle and had alist of things wrong including ,rear and front motor mounts being broke.power steering fluid leaking, transmission lines leaking, rear brake pads and front rotors need replacing and wheel alignment right camber off in front and rear alignment off and right toe is off. The first dealer stated they did a front and rear wheel alignment and less than3 weeks later the alignment is that far off.something radically wrong with this vehicle, and/orfirst chrysler dealer.all of this after going through 3 plus sets of shocks and 2 tie rod ends and now another wheel alignment! very unsafe, vehicle with still undiagnosed reason for all this.chrysler insists the vehicle can be repaired.we do not trust that statement any longer.it is our belief that this car is defective.we believe something in the suspension or design is causing all of these parts to continue breaking, and continuous alignment, tire, brake problems.now motor mounts and power steering, and transmission leaks.we did not get any value from this car purchase.chrysler should be held responsible for the defective car we are stuck with. We could have been injured twice already by tires almost falling of car. Now we need to worry about fires from leaking lines and also worry about broken motor mounts.help us please! this car needs to be taken off the road and we need to be reimbursed. In the meantime we cannot safely drive car any distances as we wait for an answer from chrysler corp. On what they can do for us.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the shocks and struts fractured causing the front passenger side axle and rim to become detached. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the shocks and struts, the front passenger side axle and rim needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
We owned a 2007 chrysler pacifica car for 3 months,46000 miles approx, when purchased. After the first 3 months of ownership, the rear tires went completely bald , wires poking out, the car was bottoming out on every bump.the springs were weak we were told. The shocks were broken, the tires were completely out of line and the dealer did fix at their own expense. 2 new tires replaced , wheel alignment, two new shocks, and supposedly springs fixed. At approx. 8 months later the vehicle was again bottoming out.once again we were told shocks broken. Chrysler was contacted and replaced shocks, dealer did wheel alignment and a tie rod end was replaced. In approximately 10 months we again noticed the car was making noise and bottoming out.once again shocks were broken and the other tie rod end needed replacing.chrysler customer care was notified from the first incident and subsequently at each additional occurence.the dealer paid at the first occurence, chrysler provided shocks at second occurence, on the last occurence chrysler required an inspection by a chrysler dealer. Another tie rod was replaced. We were told by dealer car was good to go.we took trip to pick up family at airport and had to be towed.upon reinspection 2 days later, we were told 2 studs had completely broken off left rear tire, and tire could have come off on freeway at speeds of 65 mph.they also discovered two lugs on right rear tire were loose. This was the second incident where our safety was at risk. 4 sets of shocks 2 tires 2 tie rod ends and 3 wheel alignments later.very unsatisfied.the car is a safety hazard on the road. Suspension design flaw???
This letter is to file a complaint regarding chrysler group llc for repairs made to a 2007 chrysler pacificas front engine cradle within a 10-year or 150,000 period similar to the extended warranty coverage of a previous recall to chrysler pacifica model years 2004-2005.i experienced an engine cradle safety concern and this matter was similar to that included in the chrysler pacifica model years 2004-2005 recall.the perforation of corrosion on the engine cradle was a safety hazard and as a result would not pass the virginia safety inspection requirements, thus requiring repair.three attempts were made to find a used part, but all parts received had corrosion in the same place.the repair was made with chrysler oem parts.since this safety issue was a similar the previous chrysler recall, and to correct a safety hazard, i request reimbursement for the repair.
2007 chrysler pacifica. Consumer writes regarding damage in vehicle accident *tgwthe consumer stated the wheel became detached from the vehicle which caused him to loose control of the vehicle and ultimately crashing into a guardrail. The wheel and all of its components; steering knuckle, cv joints, brake lines, struts etc, buckled under the vehicle. After the vehicle dropped down with the tire acting as a cushion, it dragged along the guardrail until it came to a stop.
Informed during routine state inspection struts needed replacing. Brought vehicle to southern chrysler jeep. Dealer replaced strut mounts and strut bearings, informed that they were "coming apart". Service adviser said the struts on those vehicles were "a piece of scrap , but you didn't hear that from me". Informed that they have a lot of problem with those.why is there no recall?you can see from the mileage, i don't drive long distances, i don't run over potholes or drive on rocky roads.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, a loud noise was heard from outside the vehicle as the steering wheel began to vibrate.the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. There were numerous parts replaced on the vehicle over a period of time including two tie rod ends, four shocks and a wheel alignment was performed with each repair. Most recent ly, the lug nut studs were replaced due to the suspension defect. The contact was uncertain of the location of the parts that were replaced for any of the repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.

When cornering at low speeds there is a loud rubbing noise (like a tire rubbing in the wheel well) coming from the front of the vehicle.i can feel it both in the steering wheel and brake pedal.when i got new tires, i had the mechanic check the wheel wells for rub marks and he did not find any.he stated that the tires were not rubbing anywhere.
While coming to a stop in a parking lot the tire valve stem blew off, completely deflating the tire.six weeks later the same thing occurred to another wheel.it appears that valve stem corroded just below the cap.the pressure inside the tire then blew out the schroeder valve resulting in a quick deflate of the tire.if this had happened at highway speed it could have resulted in loss of steering and possible accident or personal injury.both tire valve stems have been replaced, but now wondering if the remaining two need to be replaced.such a design of this product is a potential fatal accident waiting to happen.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and the oil and traction control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. The vin was unavailable.
Car stalls randomly while driving with no warning or engine codes to repair leaving you with no power steering or brakes. This same problem was recalled on the 2005 and 2006 models with f44 safety recall, but not on the 2007 and 2008. Happened 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
Takata recallsince november my car has randomly been stalling while i'm drivingleaving me with no power steering or brakes. I have constantly taken it to get checked and no one can seem to find a problem with my engine or anything else. When i did some research i found out that previous model years had the same problem and were recalled.
There is a part on the car that goes bad ( # 04880417aa) cant find it anywhere not angry just need help please !!the car is becoming very unsafe to drive .
The vehicle shuts off while driving. Hard to steer and have to come to a complete stop in order to restart.
When u driving the car and come to a stop sign or stop light the car turns completely offand no lights are anything comes on to show that there is a problem. It starts back up but when u go to the next light it cranks back off again. It has not cranked off when u driving a distance yet, but when make a complete stop at a light or stop sign it cranks off again. This has happened at least 50 times since june 22nd. I've tested the battery and the alternator and they are fine but the problem is still happening.
"takata recall" at 60 mph the vehicle starts to shake. Brand new tires balaced properly, new caliper, and wheel aligjnment. Electrical light on dash keeps coming on and can not exceed 40 mph and vehicle ahuts off sometimes leaving no steerimg or breaks
Purchased this car used in february 2008.shortly thereafter i noticed a knock in the front when turning wheel at low speeds (ie, backing up).also felt slight vibration on acceleration. Dealer unable to find anything until june 2009.miles 38733.front tie rod was broken and replaced by dealer.this did not resolve the knock or the vibration on acceleration.knock continued and got worse.at 61000, the car was again brought in for the knocking.at first look, the mechanic did not see a problem.i explained that at extreme turn of wheel at low speeds, there is a distinct knock in front.after his further inspection, i was advised by service center that the car has two (2) broken motor mounts and this could be the source of the knock and vibration.was taken to dodge dealer where purchased to confirm broken motor mounts.parts were replaced under extended warranty.still did not resolve the knock.
I am having issues with my vehicle gears, when i put it in park it will not come out of park. I understand there is an open recall for this issue, however my make and model is not affected by it and am disturbed to think that i am not covered under the recall.
Catalyticconverterare bad. I had to replace both converts 3 times.if you researchthis severalpeoplehas had the same problem motor mounts, i have replaced then 3 times. Ignitioncoilshave been replacedseveral times. The same 1. The chryslerpacificais garbage. It was garbagethen, it'sgarbage now. Chryslerhas many problemswith there cars and they are never recalledof fixed . All chryslerdo isstop making that car.
My 07 chrysler pacifica touring will accelerate on 25 or more miles it not go more then 70 miles per hour on freeway when it hits 70 a ticking noise startes my mal function light is on. Have an appointment with dealership tomorrow. Just don't understand why they haven't recall them for this issue
We purchased this vehicle used, and from day one we noticed the transmission banged into gear. After numerous trips to the dealer and them unable to find the problem, i asked them to check the motor mounts. They discovered a broken mount, the repair cost me $440, this occurred at 46151 mi. Now at approx 74000 mi 2 more engine mounts have failed the bill this time will be $723. We do not drive aggressively or abuse this vehicle, after an online search this seems to be a defect in the chrysler pacifica line of cars. With the engine shifting in the engine compartment it will be only a matter of time before a fuel line, brake line or other vital line or hose will be compromised causing a fire or loss of vehicle control. I feel a recall should be issued and the defective part replaced and those who already replaced the defective part reimbursed.
Engine cradle has rotted through and cracked. After searching the internet, this is very common problem with chrysler pacificas (model years 2004-2008). Contacted chrysler, and they advised that there are no recalls and will not assist further.
I drove in my drive way on sunday on mon. Morning i got in and the transmission is out, i guess it. Will not go anywhere in any gear.staionary if this is a recalled see call !!me, i do not have $2000.00 to fix it thank you'll.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that after engaging the coast button on the cruise control, the vehicle accelerated to 70 mph in seconds. The contact applied the brakes and was able to deactivate the cruise control. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.
The contact stated that her vehicle was parked with the engine on when she walked away from the vehicle.when she returned to the vehicle and turned the ignition off while the vehicle was in park it suddenlyaccelerated backwards into her driveway on a busy street in front of her home.she finally managed to get into the vehicle but she could not remove the keys from the ignition.she was able to gain control of the steering wheel and slow the vehicle down. When she forced the vehicle into neutral gear the vehicle made a squealing noise and continued to accelerate backwards.she had to use the manual transmission option in order to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that she sustained some abrasions and whip lash when the failure occurred. The police were not notified. The vehicle was parked in her driveway when the complaint was filed.chrysler was not notified.the failure and current mileages were approximately 31,820.
The contact stated that while traveling approximately 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that that throttle body needed to be cleaned along with the replacement of the spark plugs. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred several times. The failure mileage was 78,000. The vin was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. While stopped at a traffic stop, the contact noticed there was increase in engine rpm readings. As the contact accelerated from the stop, the accelerator pedal became stuck in open throttle. The pedal returned to normal after a few seconds. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostics where the technician advised that the front motor mount would have to be replaced. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
Several instances of stalling with absolutely no warning at approximately 40 mph.car does start back up but stalls at random intervals. Has been seen at multiple shops with no errors, codes or problems found.
Tried to stop at a red light from 45 mph. Car slowed to about 5 mph but would not stop. Reapplied brakes, engine accelerated (foot not on accelerator) pulled out of gear, into neutral, engine went into screaming acceleration re-engaged in "drive", engine calmed down.episode repeated later that same night. Car returned next day when rental office was open.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.

My engine light has been on since i got the care in may of 2012-, i have always had problems with air going low on the drivers side front tire, and recently my steering has become hard to move even though it has power steering has fluid in it. At times the vehicle will shut off when i back out or come to a stop at a light or stop sign.
Im worried i dont have a nother vehicle .
