I havechrysler pacifica that has a bad transmission problem when shifting and sometimes the rear brakes will lock up. I took it to a dealership for repairs and was told to bring it in only when you get lights on the dash other than that it is normal. I'm currently waiting for a tuning valve to be replaced in the motor. I'm now experiencing problems now with the airbag light coming on and going off. I was told again by a service writer it was normal until it comes on and stays on. I bought the car in january 2008 and it is now march it has been in the shop for repairs 4 times for the transmission and twice for the brakes and a total of 15 days and running. I have called chrysler care several times and have sent them a letter and their response to me is keep taking it back for repairs the car has 34,000 on it now and still has factory warranty left on it. I'm afraid to drive it and have it sitting in the driveway because the dealer is waiting for the parts to come in to repair it. Please if there is someone at chrysler listening call me...

I purchased my car three months ago and started having trouble with it one month after purchase. My car stalls and loses power randomly. Has been in the shop for two months and the problem still isn't fixed.

Engine stalls / shuts off at low speed - this has occurred 18 times since and seems to be getting progressively worse. Now it is occurring at higher speeds (50mph) when turning around bends. Loss of power steering contributes to the problem. The interior power remains on while a oil display light flashes. Once stopped the vehicle will restart and no further problem is detected. These types of stalling problems occur intermittently. The same sort of scenario happens every time the engine shuts off (stalls).

My 2007 awd chrysler pacifica shut itself off while it was being driven at 55mph on a rural state highway. The entire vehicle shut off and there was no poer steering, etc.it was determined by the dealer the tipm(control module) failed. Luckily we were not driving in heavy traffic or far from home. Ordus chrysler informed me that when the timp goes bad the vehicle will shut off and not turn back unless taken to a dealer.

The car shuts off while driving. I turn the ignition off and it cranks back up. It does this almost every other day. No codes come on the warning lights do not come on the car just shuts off. I know this is an older car and i just bought it but this is a hazard can cause an accident and potentially kill someone. After looking online this seems to be a common problem with these cars even the new models and i can't understand stand why there hasn't been a recall to fix this issue.

I have a chrysler pacifica that as i've driven it has completely shut off while driving down the highway or road.it completely shut off as i was going through an intersection.i've had it in and out of the repair shop for the last 5 months and i've been given different answers as to what's wrong.none of them have solved the problem.finally, today i found a mechanic that said it was the tipm!unfortunately from what i've read this is a huge problem in chryslers.i'm terrified to drive my car for fear that i'm going to be hurt while driving it.i was almost hit when my car shut off in the middle of an intersection and had kids in my vehicle.this isn't right and it's downright dangerous putting the consumer at such a risk.

07 pacificia will just die when driving at low speed.no warning lights comes on. You lose all control of the car. You can put the car park or netural is will start.you can drive for couple days and will do it again without notice.you take to shop and they can scan it do to no warning light.this happen when you turn or go straight at a slow speed. They have numerous complaints for this and no known answer it fix the problem.the car only has 107000 miles on it

Recurring starting issuewhen high humidity and heavy morning condensation are present, vehicle will not start, and power is lost to passenger side (windows, mirror, locks) and both front seats lose power. Have taken to dealership 4 times in 2 months over summer, some parts replaced, but problem still occurring afterwards, other times the vehicle would start by the time it was towed to dealership. Dealership not able to recreate problem, but mechanics agree that it is condensation related to causing a short somewhere. When condensation evaporates, vehicle will start just fine.

While driving on a side road in town, going between 40-50 mph, my car shimmied. I had taken my car to a mechanic, and he found that all 4 motor mounts were broken. They were replaced and within 3 months, they were broken again. The mechanic could not find anything that was causing the motor mounts to break. He has replaced my motor mounts a total of 4 times in less than a year. My pacifica still shimmies and shakes when accelerating between 40-50 mph. When i release the gas, it will stop, but sometimes shimmies when i touch the gas again. Passed 50 mph, the car does not shimmy and shake.

My car would be hard to start at times, windows would not work properly, abs, brake, engine, traction lights all came on, and the car would die for no apparent reason.when the car was turned off the abs module would continue to run. I have brought at least 2 batteries, had brakes, done thinking this was the problem, now i found out its the tipm module.

Its very bad an freaking me and my kids out

The vehicle shuts off while driving. This has occurred six times since february 1, 2014 (a period of about seven weeks). Each time i have been lucky enough to guide the vehicle off to the side of the road, in spite of the loss of steering and braking. The vehicle restarted with no major problem each time. Also, the engine spontaneously revved as the vehicle lost forward momentum on one occasion (on a date preceding the fifth shutoff event), but regained normal operation within seconds. On that occasion i took the vehicle immediately to the dealer for analysis; they updated a computer module. The shutoff has occurred twice since the dealer fixed the computer component. All events occurred within two to five minutes of driving the car after it had been sitting for several hours (cold start?). My research shows that this is a frequently reported problem with the 2007 pacifica, and that the vehicle was recalled for the problem in model years 2004 - 2006. I provided a printout of my research to the dealer, and they have had the vehicle for five business days without being able to reproduce the problem. I reported the problem by phone to chrysler, but their complaint line does not offer solutions (and apparently does not provide feedback).

I was driving approximately 30 mph when my power steering stopped working and i noticed my engine had also stopped.i struggled to steer to the side of the road.i turned the key off (the engine was already off).i waited a minute and started the vehicle without a problem.i drove directly to my mechanic where he could not find a problem.this has happened 2 more times (for a total of 3 times).all when i was driving between 30 - 40 mph.the first indication of a problem is when i loose power steering and notice the engine has cut-out.

I was driving the car to the gas station to put gas in it and the car shut off as i was pulling up to the gas station and there was a car coming towards me and the car had the right of way.i had to literally stop my car and run to the frontofthe car that was coming towards me in order to prevent and accident of the car running into my car.i know it had enough fuel i keep my tank full and just wanted to fill it all the way up since i had extra funds that week.ever since the shut off the car had been sputtering and having trouble switching gears.i just purchased this car and it has been a disappointment, one after the other!!!!!then there's an issue with the front end where you hear a popping sound if you should have to unexpectedly haveto hit the brakes or if you go overa speed bump.

My daughter gave me this car for my birthday in 2007 with a red bow on it. I was very surprise. After the first 6 months i began having problems. The problem i am having now is something that was repaired before. I had this issue about 3 years ago.while i am driving, the car just shut off, stalling in the middle of the traffic. The steering becomes very hard. Many times i was in fear of an accident many times. I am disappointed with this car.

Just bought this vehicle from dodge dealership.one four different occasions a couple at low speed <15 and a couple at higher speed >40 the vehicle stalls or turns off.you lose power steering (hard to control) and braking(hard to press pedal).no engine lights or warning lights to show failure anywhere.vehicle starts right back up and may not do it again for weeks.from what i have been reading there is no sure findings to the cause and maybe a tsb out there by now shows the problem.i am worried about the quality or safety of my family should the wife be driving the vehicle at a rate of speed and it cut out on her and she panic or be in rush traffic.it not only endangers her but any vehicle around her.before i take it to the dealership and pay lots of money i don't have i need to know what my options are and why it appears this has been an issue and not resolved.if you put in google 2007 pacifica awd stalling while driving you get more than enough responses and it led me to here even.i would whole heartedly appreciate any and all information and actions i can do to get this fixed and resolved for my family.

Multiple occurrences of car burning oil?unsure where its going. Check engine light came on at first occurrence, no indicator of any oil issues.took to mechanic and stated the oil stick was completely dry.no indications of any holes/leaks or other issues.next occurrence without warning service light came on and inspected immediately after light came on to find again no oil remaining. Service mechanics unsure of where the oil is going as there still appears to be no leaks or signs of it going anywhere.on average need to put in oil in every 100-200 miles to avoid complete loss of all oil.the farther down it gets, it seems to disappear more rapidly. The service engine light comes on when the car is completely dry of oil posing potential engine lock up issues or cracking of engine block without notice. There is no oil light, the light immediately goes to service engine soon light, and after numerous occurrences indicates a completely dry dipstick.

Currently my chrysler pacifica touring awd has 31,008 miles on it. I have had the following problems september 11, 2008 at 2660 miles, rocker arm, valve replaced 4.0 liter. Cracked black plastic upper radiator panel. October 27, 2011 multiple complaints to dealership about the vehicle acting like it wanted to accelerate on its own. July 14, 2012 miles: 22,574 front/rear differential shows a need for immediate attention. February 12.2013, showed rear differential leaking. September 27, 2013, miles 29.120 shows problem with rear differential. January 1, 2014 miles: 31,006 vehicle towed to dealership and was diagnostic for a drive shaft assembly needed, part#5157008ae. Second opinion given by master ase technician give on 01-14-2014, miles: 31,008, states transfer case/ptu is cracked and fluid is leaking. Recommendations: transfer case/ptu and rear driveshaft assembly needs to be replaced with a new and improved type unit because research show this is a known problem with this vehicle.

About a week prior the veh was driving very sluggish and would not resume normal until reaching 50mph, then the next week while driving at about 35mph the veh began shaking very bad forcing me to drop speed to about 15mph.took it to a mechanic and was told i needed a rear drive shaft and engine mounts and from what i hear this is a common problem with these vehs.drive shaft is well over $1000.00 not to mention labor, something needs to be done.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and then the check engine light illuminated. To restart the vehicle, it had to be shifted into neutral. The contact also stated that the power steering assist would fail intermittently. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 104,000.

I was slowing down to yield at a rotary and my car suddenly shut down causing the brakes and steering to not work almost causing a major accident.the same thing occurred several minutes later.

Motor mounts are collapsed on 2007 chrysler pacifica.

While driving from cold start vehicle dies every morning at least one time loose power steering and brakes makes it hard to come to a stop or turn this i see is a problem with others someone needs to get this checked out. No check eng light or any warning i'm able to pop it into neutral and restart but am afraid to let wife drive due to her lack of experience..

Driving at <15mph and at >45mph speeds the whole car shuts off. No engine lights no warning just cuts off. Still continuing the issue has been looked at and since no lights are on they cant find it. I haul my 3 granddaughters in this car and the safety worries me about it.

We have had multiple issues with this vehicle.around 60,000 miles the car died several times which was fixed.then 2/11/2013 the car had a problem with i believe was the fuel line.car would act like it was going to die and smoking like crazy when pressed gas, smelled like gas..we got it to the dealer service and the fixed it - cost $1100.3 weeks later while getting onto a freeway in traffic, i pressed the gas to accelerate, heard a bang like something blew up in the engine, car was smoking in the exhaust and the immediately died.it was towed to the dealer where we were later informed a rod had come loose and put a gash in the engine and oil pan.called it a catastrophic failure and only fixed at enormous cost. Car dead at 82,625 miles.5 years old.if this "rod" would have broke loose any other time or while driving faster in middle lane, we could have been killed, since it was rush hour.i had 2 young kids with me at the time.chrysler is putting lives at risk with faulty products. Purchased brand new, maintained and did all required maintenance through dealer.had to purchase new car, not a chrysler.

Car kept shutting down regardless of speed. Chrysler sent specialist to deflect ship and replaced fuel pumps. Vehicle continued to shut down while driving. Attempted to drive to an independent mechanic, but crashed on the way. Car shut down on a curve, steering failed, brakes locked he hit a tree. This accident could've been a fatality. Car was totaled! chrysler is not assuming any responsibility and closed the case. I will never buy another one!!!!

Car will turn off unexpectedly with no error code/check engine light while driving down the road! it does not happen on a normal basis but it has happened about 10 times since i purchased this vehicle in march 2014.

Have been experiencing a clunk from the right wheel well for a few weeks.had midas look at it last week while replacing front brakes, but they said they didn't see anything.this week, was getting oil change and transmission flushed.mentioned the noise again, and this time was told the noise was due to engine mount failure of the left and right engine mounts.i in turn called my local chrysler dealership since i purchased my car with the lifetime power train warranty as well as an extended warranty, and was told that neither one of these would cover the replacement.then, chrysler proceeded to quote me a replacement cost that was $300 over my midas quote.i asked the technician, "doesn't this seem to be a premature failure, since i only have 67,000 miles?" to which he replied, "yes it does." he also said the reason this part is not covered is because it is considered a "consumable" part.really?can i buy that with my oil?but, based on all of the complaints i have seen about this on numerous websites, engine mounts are as consumable as brake pads where chrysler is concerned. Needless to say, i told the technician that i would not be taking my car to the dealership for this repair.i came home and decided to google this problem to see if it was a common occurrence, and oh my!chrysler needs to recall the engine mounts and refund their customers who have had to pay for these repairs since none of their warranties seem to!take responsibility for your product.this was a $36,000 car!

My chrysler pacifica 2007 awd with a 4.0 engine uses excessive oil. I did not know this. Due to the car using oil-no leaking, i nearly blew my engine. My oil light came on too late with only about 1 qt of oil remaining. Since i bought the car a year old and it is past 36000 miles, i am stuck with repairs due to a faulty engine. The car is at the mechanic who said it has metal in the oil from the ordeal and may need the whole engine replaced or rebuilt. This may cost 1/2 what the car is worth and i still owe payments for 4 more years. I have checked online forums and this is a common problem with the awd models, especially built in canada like mine. Chrysler needs to be held responsible for these repairs. This is $40k vehicle. At the very least the engine should last more than 5 years. My car is only 3 years old and i'm stuck with bills i can't afford or paying payments on a car i can't drive.

While traveling at highway speeds the car simply turned off (engine stops just like you turned the key to off).total loss of power steering and power braking.coasted to side of road, where car was restarted.this problem is similar to a problem in may 2012 when the car while traveling at highway speeds turned itself off.stored code at the time was c121c. Dealer was unable to determine cause in may 2012.

On april 15th 2008 at approximately 8:45am i was driving our brand new chrysler pacifica limited addition. I pulled into the parking of 2155 suite b electric rd, roanoke, va 24018. As i got out of the car with my 2yr old daughter the car caught on fire underneath the hood. It caused $5,000 of damage to the building as well as damaged the car completely(we have many pictures). The fire department arrived at the scene within two minutes and was able to prevent further damage to the building. Our insurance preceded with an investigation and found that the fire started around the steering fluid or the anti-freeze. Their findings concluded even though it was burned to the ground that it was the steering fluid. Chrysler had their own forensics come out and all they did was take pictures and report back to their headquarters. Within a week and a half we were informed by a letter that it was not a manufactured default. But would not let us know what "caused" it. It was a brand new chrysler with only 6,700 miles on it. We bought it brand new. If you could please help us with any information you have we would truly appreciate it. We have no car and chrysler does not want to help us but it would be helpful to know what "caused" it. If it isn't the steering fluid leak than what caused a brand new car to catch fire and go up in flames?sincerely, mary-kathryn bailey

My 2007 chrysler pacifica stalls while driving.we have only owned it for 9 months but in that time we have had five stalling issues.our local dealership has tried cleaning various parts of the transmission, but it continues to stall.i noticed that 2003 to 2006 pacifica's were recalled for a similar issue.

Driving at <15mph and at >45mph speeds the whole car shuts off. No engine lights no warning just cuts off. Still continuing the issue has been looked at and since no lights are on they cant find it. I haul my 3 granddaughters in this car and the safety worries me about it.

Beginning in july 2011 the gas gauge became erratic. It would show 1/2 tank and 200miles to empty. Within 20 miles it would show low fuel and shortly after run out of gas. Around the same time the fuel tank would take a very long time to fill. The nozzle keeps kicking off as if the tank were full. The only way to fuel it is to gently squeeze the nozzle and trickle it in. The fastest it will take fuel is slow enough that you can actually count the pennies on the pump as they go up. After e-mailing chrysler no less than 7 times and finally demanding to speak to a supervisor i received a phone call today,12/29/2011. I had him on the phone for 40 minutes and got nowhere. The last e-mail they sent me said the answer would remain the same, which tells me there was a predetermined answer to my problem. I asked the supervisor who called me for a phone number i could call to speak to someone higher than him and was told "we don't do that." i cannot see how a car that is 5 years old needs a new fuel pump and a new fuel tank. He said this is the first case he has seen on this issue but i have found nearly 100 cases identical to mine on-line. I also called 7 dealers in 5 states and they have all heard of this problem and knew just what the car needs. Parts and labor comes to just over $1500.00. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice you could provide. Thank you.

My wife hit a pothole in the street with our 2007 chrysler pacifica. The car wasdrivable after the incident, but her and my granddaughter smelled gasoline. They proceeded toward home and noticed the gas gauge was going down very quickly. They got home with the gas gauge reading empty, they had traveled about 3 to 4 miles and lost 3/4 of a tank of gas. I looked under the car and saw a gash in the bottom front of the plastic gas tank about 2" long. This was disturbing to me because the front corner of the tank has no protection.

As i was coming out of a parking lot at a minimum speed about to make a right turn the car suddenly cut off. The steering wheel locked and i was unable to make turn, then as suddenly as it shut off it came back on in mid turn.this has occurred to me several times approx a year after buying this veh in 2010 and on several different occasions, at various speeds but always as i would commit to making a right turn would the steering wheel lock up on me and the car shut down.

2007 chrysler pacifica awd dies when shifted into drive from any position. In order to drive this car it has to be shifted into n and rpm's gotten to over 3000 then put into d and wirh all that it still clunks, shakes, stuttereds, etc.

Emergency brake failure - lever for activating parking brake came loose from assembly and became lodged between brake drum and brake assembly. This caused wheel to stop rotating. Could put car in reverse temporarily dislodging lever allowing vehicle to move freely. Lever finally lodged completely causing wheel to drag and overheat. Needed to replace parking brake assembly in the affected wheel.

Takata recall. My husband was driving it on friday and made a noise, thought it was tire brought to tire place and they stated that the transfer case has cracks in it.we had the transfer case go bad in november 2015 and replaced it with a cost of over $2,000.00.now the transfer case cracked and chrysler is saying that it has a 3yr 100,000 warranty on it and we took it to a dealer under their instructions, and the dealer called and said that it is not covered because the tires are off 1/8" of an inch which made it crack, never in my life have i heard that tires being low on pressure or worn cause pieces of your car to crack!!this needs to be investigated immediately.

Seemsrear drive shaft is bad- thereis no known recall i can find - but my mechanic says the parts are unavailable or back ordered- so it makes me wonder if no parts are available are all these vehicles having problems!

I was driving along and all of a sudden it sounded like my tired popped and the car jerked and than felt like it was dragging along and kept making a popping noise until i came to a complete stop.i had to have the car towed to the garage.transfer case had blown.transfer case was replaced and less than a year later it went again, this time i was going 55mph and nearly went off the road.transfer case was again replaced.i asked the garage why they thought it kept doing this and they said they did not know..my tires are all the same size.ichances of it going again are very likely. Very unsatisfied with this vehicle, i've had the carburetor replaced, the right bearing replaced, the transfer case twice and i've only owned it 3 years.i will never buy a chrysler anything again.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica. The contact stated while driving the vehicle began to skip and jerk. The check engine light illuminated and the failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing who stated the transmission needed a new valve box. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1 and the current mileage was 70,000. The vin was unavailable.

Transfer case collapsed while driving 25mph. There is not one to be found in the us! rumor has it that there is at least a six month backorder! what's going on that there is such a high demand for this part?

The shift stick/knob is stuck in park. The pink button will not unstuck it. A mechanic helped and the plastic mechanism that will hold the shift to park for safety broke. I now do not have this feature where i need to step on the brake to release the shift. The park shift can now be easily moved which is dangerous.

Vehicle purchased new 04/2007 has had the torque converter replaced twice and still has the same problem. The transmission shifts harshly, cause a rumbling / shuddering sensation at certain speed / load conditions. The transmission also intermittently remains in a "lock up" condition while stopping and will nearly stall the engine before the car is stopped using much harder than normal brake pressure.

I was slowing down to yield at a rotary and my car suddenly shut down causing the brakes and steering to not work almost causing a major accident.the same thing occurred several minutes later.

Driving at <15mph and at >45mph speeds the whole car shuts off. No engine lights no warning just cuts off. Still continuing the issue has been looked at and since no lights are on they cant find it. I haul my 3 granddaughters in this car and the safety worries me about it.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica awd.while driving approximately 5 mph, the power steering suddenly failed and smoke began to rise from under the hood.a police report was filed.the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the contact has not heard from them to know the condition of his vehicle.the current and failure mileages were 1,200.phone interview update (october 3): drove for 20 miles, steering then acted abnormal. While parking, my wife noticed smoke from under the hood. Then the vehicle caught fire under the driver side of the hood near the front.there was a trail of fluid on the ground. The complainant believes that power steering fluid leaked and ignited. No after-market items were installed in vehicle. No accessories were used at the time of fire. A chrysler representative took a report over the phone and chrysler paid me for the vehicle.

Have a 2007 chrysler pacifica which motor mounts are breaking replaced with new parts and broke within a month again.currently working on again only 55,000 miles on vehicle.

There is a rusted hole in the subframe engine cradle that was discovered during a routine oil change

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica awd. The contact stated that she was having routine maintenance performed at an independent mechanic when she was advised that the rear drive shaft was leaking. The manufacturer was notified and informed her that there was no recall for the failure and to take the vehicle to her local dealer for diagnosis. An appointment with the dealer was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 35,000.

When slowing down or mid driving the car stalls and turns off. Turns back on but still shakes to turn off. At red light car will stall and must be kept in neutral so it wont shut off. Then when put into drive car is about to stall again and then jumps when gas is pressed to move. This has been happening for the past 3 months on and off.

While driving on the highway at speeds over 40 mph, the car stalls and restarts; it is an extremely frightening experience. It happens when accelerating. It has happened approximately 10 times.we have attempted to fix this 3 times with our mechanic.as no codes are triggered, it is a guess as to what to address.based on my research, this is not an isolated incident with this car.i advise anyone not to buy this car and i hope that chrysler recalls this model to save a life.we have been very lucky.

Engine stalls when shift into d, but not when shift into r. It started doing this feb. 14th 2016. There is no check engine light therefore no obdii code. It stall when i stop, start back up and stall as soon as i shift to d. It's my daughter's car she got the car in november 2015.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler pacifica.while driving 20 mph, the computer caused the transmission to shift into overdrive.the vehicle accelerated at a higher speed and then shifted to its normal operating speed.the contact does not recall the speed of the vehicle when it accelerated.on october 22, 2007, the vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer for three weeks and they were able to duplicate the failure.the dealer and manufacturer stated that they were aware of the failure; however, they could not repair the vehicle because no remedies were available.they also stated that they had no knowledge of when a remedy would be available.the failure occurred three days after the vehicle was purchased and continues to intermittently occur daily.the contact filed complaint number 168 954 09 on october 31, 2007 and november 9, 2007 with the manufacturer.the failure mileage was 65 and current mileage was 1,000.

Its very bad an freaking me and my kids out

About a week prior the veh was driving very sluggish and would not resume normal until reaching 50mph, then the next week while driving at about 35mph the veh began shaking very bad forcing me to drop speed to about 15mph.took it to a mechanic and was told i needed a rear drive shaft and engine mounts and from what i hear this is a common problem with these vehs.drive shaft is well over $1000.00 not to mention labor, something needs to be done.
