Vehicle was making a clunking noise. Dealer said that it was engine mount bolts. Consumer got a 2nd opinion & found out that the abs system was going out & noise was coming from when applying brakes to stop.dealerwas not trying to fixvehicle because he already fixed 2 things onvehicle & it was over 30 days.

The contact owns a 1988 chrysler new yorker. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the brakes became unresponsive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic stated that the abs system would have to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Antilock brakes failed.
The abs works when it want to work.i am afraid to drive this car, due to the fact that the abs may go out any time.i had my two children and one of their friends with me when the abs would not work at all.i strongly feel that this is a defect in the abs.
