Air bag on the passenger side of 2000 lbs chrysler, deployedwhile driving on a city road.vehicle was traveling straight ahead, approximately35mph.

Headlights are clouding over causing dimness in night and decreased visibility while driving.i have noticed this on other chrysler products but not other manufacturers.dealer said there was no recall.i also had a front passenger door actuator replaced.the handle does not operate properly now.auto shop performed repaired at my expense.the passenger airbag storage is cracked.

Consumer noticed a crack inarea where airbags comes out. She tookvehicle todealership, andmechanic told her that she could patch it up.

Consumer was in a collision and air bags did not deploy, resulting in injuries. Dealer was not contacted at the time of this call. Ph.

One crack started out as 2" long hairline, but have gotten bigger and now it is across the passenger side dashboard. And right below is suppose to have the passenger side safety airbag. Have called several places to find out how to get it fixed/ replaced - the only answer i get was chrysler has stopped manufacturing the dashboard, so answer is to cover it up. I feel that chrysler should replace the dashboards as there seem to be so many complaints about them. These car manufacturers waits for couple causalities before they wake up and the do something about it. Being proactive is an issue for them! seems like dashboard crack is chrysler's expertise in general, have also found complains on their 300m at http://www.carcomplaints.com/chrysler/300m/2000/accessories-interior/cracked_dashboard.shtml.

I was involved in a three car accident. The car i was driving was a 2000 chrysler lhs.i t-boned a car resulting in both cars being totaled. The damage to the front of my car was extensive: hood, fenders, front end, and radiator all destroyed. Neither of the two front air bags deployed.

While driving at 45 mph vehicle crashed into a tree. Upon impact, none of the frontal airbags deployed.driver sustainedback and neck injuries.

Heater display doesn't work.

I purchased my vehicle as a pre-certified car with only 14,100 original miles in june of 2003. On 4/4/2004 my vehicle speedometer sensor failed causing my vehicle to be place in a safety mode of no more than 25 miles an hour..(felt like the transmission dropped). Then a year later around the same time, my power steering pump failed and almost causing me an accident. I have also repaired the cradle bushing 3 times since owning this vehicle and now i have to replace them again. I also just recently (dec. Of 2011) had all the struts complete assembly replaced with both lower control arms with ball joints. Replaced both upper outer tie rods, both lateral links. I am constantly replacing my tires before there warranty time and replacing front-end brake pads. Also my seat belts are defective and not working properly. The rear defroster/antenna module started smoking and melted causing my defroster not to work anymore.i have been having nothing but problem with this vehicle since day one, with no help or concern from chrysler. The bumper to bumper warranty i had purchased for the vehicle did not cover any of these failed parts. I also tried getting the recall parts replaced and was told by several dealerships that my car was not part of the recall because i have a sunroof lhs. I am constantly having to replace front-end suspension parts that keep failing on this vehicle. This vehicle only had 1 owner before me. I have receipts for all updated maintenance and repairs for this vehicle. Chrysler has denied me of any failed parts, warranty parts and recalls for the vehicle.this is just the beginning of the issues with this vehicle, there are other issues as well but will not be able to fit it on this form.

Steering issues, noise in wheel area while driving, loss of traction control and abs, tie rods to be replaced, play in steering wheel, vehicle shifts heavy while rolling over a bump, dome lights go on sporadically, fuel gauge drops to e and goes back up all the time, tires worn and they were brand new.

The contact owns a 2000 chrysler lhs. While driving at 40 mph,the contact stated there was an abnormal ticking coming from the front of the vehicle and the instrument panel lights and headlights then began to intermittently flicker on and off. The dealer advised that the battery cable was defective and corroded. The battery was replaced but did not correct the failure. There were no additional repairs. The failure mileage was 59,000 and the current mileage was 114,344.

The car will not start every time.sometimes, after turning the key, nothing happens.i have had the battery and the charging system checked and all is well within specifications. Also the passenger side door lock makes a horrible noise when activated.

Electrical exterior and exterior flashing and blinking consistently. Check engine light stays on even after having tune up. Heating and ac doesn't properly work at all times intermittently.

The contact owns a 2000 chrysler lhs.while turning the vehicle, the steering made a loud noise.the steering failure began in august of 2006.the dealer replaced the steering gear and the rack and pinion.in june of 2008, the steering failure recurred and the noise worsened.the manufacturer took a report and stated that they would not assist with the repairs due to the age of the vehicle.the contact will take the vehicle to another dealer for a diagnosis.she purchased the vehicle brand new and the oil gasket, water pump tension pulley, transmission cooling line clamp, and the water pump were all replaced due to the failure.the failure mileage was 58,337 and current mileage was 77,000.

Prob.#1-rear view mirror does not adjust for lights from rear traffic.prob.#2-temperature gauge in overhead console is very slow to update the correct outside temperature.temperature gauge hangs up at the incorrect degree.had same problem with 1994 model.

There is a strong odor of gasoline coming from the outside of the car into the interior.so bad, it is giving me a headache.there is no gasoline storage in my garage.this has happened many times over several years.seems to be getting worse.

About 8 hours after purchase, new vehicle died. Took to dealerwho worked on it for 8 days but could not find the problem. Problem has occurred many times and still exists.

Car temperature and air conditioning is unstable.cold air coming in when warm air is called for and vise-versa.*la

Indoor overhead temperature gauge hangs up.takes driving several miles to register correct outside temperature.my 1994 did the same.*la

Front headlights shorted out due to rain getting inside of the headlight lens.the rubber insulation around the head lights came out, the glue that was used failed .

Both of the my front doors do not open from the inside. Not only my car but i know of some other people that i talked to with the same problem to many people with the same thing happening to their car. Now that is very dangerous, something couldhappen and a person would be trapped inside and not able to get out.

I have a chrysler 2000 lhs and have had to have 2 door actuators replaced in my car in the last year.i don't feel this should be a normal occurrance and am concerned about the other 2 doors at this time.

Door lock motors have failed on all four doors. Driver side door was locked and unoperable.

Power door locks have failed on two doors driver front and passenger rear. Door lock squeals when locking and will not let you open the door or pull the lock open (up) manually. I believe this is a safety concern. When defective if you would lose power to the lock you could not get the door open.

Dt: power door lockswent out on both sides.this first began on passenger's side, but now on driver's side.it is difficult to get in and out, and sometimes it is hard to gain entry with the key itself.only repairs were to power windows on the driver's side, but no repairs to the locks.the passenger rear door lock also failed.

Electrical exterior and exterior flashing and blinking consistently. Check engine light stays on even after having tune up. Heating and ac doesn't properly work at all times intermittently.

Transmission is jerky, clunky and noisey from the day car was bought.transmission is a bit better than my 1994 lhs which had complete transmission failure that started at 20,000 miles. Chrysler reimbursed me for cost of new transmission.*la

Today when i started to drive my 2000 lhs, it would not shift to the highest gear.the rpm's remained very high.the speedometer stays at zero.the overhead instrument panel does not work.the malfunction indicator light comes on and stays on.i proceeded to drive a short distance.when coming to a stop or when slowing around a corner, the oil light comes on and i lose power steering and the engine stalls.i cannot drive the car.i will contact the dealer (bermont motors, gilbertsville, pa) immediately.my 1994 lhs had total transmission failure and needed a whole new transmission.my car was bought in december 1999 and i only have 37,000 miles on it.besides this, the molding around one door and around one headlamp is coming off.the black trim is discolored.i am quickly loosing my confidence & dependibility in chrysler products. I doubt if i will ever buy another chrysler car.

Vehicle floor shifter interlock system failed (see nhtsa campaign id # 04v021000), car rolled and caused some minor property and vehicle damage, could have been much worse. The 2000 lhs is not covered under above mentioned recall.the problem is exactly the same.recall should be expanded to include later models effected.

The front and rear seat belts were very hard to release once buckled.the dealer found no problem with the buckle assembly. *ph *sc

The contact owns a 2000 chrysler lhs. While driving approximately 20 mph, the driver seat fractured. The contact pulled the vehicle over and received assistance from the police to help prop the seat up. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The dealer stated that the seat needed to be replaced. After the first failure, the contact received a new pin due to an unknown recall. After the second seat fracture, the entire seat was replaced. The failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2000 chrysler lhs.when the contact entered the vehicle, he leaned back in the seat and it reclined all the way to the floor.he located a recall related to his failure and called the manufacturer regarding the recliner bolt in the driver's seat.he was informed that the repair had already been performed on his vehicle; however, he would have to pay approximately $1,000 to repair and install the seat again.the current and failure mileages were 90,000.

Dt*: the contact stated periodically as the brake pedal is being depressed, there is a revving sound followed by no stopping power.the dealership could not provide a free remedy. Updated 2/28/2006 - the driver's heated seat became very hot.the consumer turn the switch off but the seat continued to get hot and the consumer smelled something burning.the heating element burned a hole in the back of the seat.the vehicle was taken to the dealer but the didn't seems overly concerned indicating that this problem was not uncommon.

While pulling into garage consumer applied brakes there was no braking ability, and vehicle hit the house. Damage to vehicle was $ 5600.00. Dealer stated there was nothing wrong with the brakes.on may26, 2002, again while parking, consumer applied brakes, there was no braking ability.vehicle hit garage, damage to vehicle$ 3000.00. Dealer found no problem with brakes.

Abs sensor failure, was informed by the auto body shop that this should have not gone bad when it did. Because of the sensor failing it was causing my abs system not to work. I could not replace just the sensor i had to replace the whole module which cost me over $1000.

The contact owns a 2000 chrysler lhs. The contact was driving 45 mph when the power steering failed and the front driver side control arm detached from the vehicle.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the vin was unavailable. The failure and the current mileages were 99,000.

I towed my 2000 chrysler lhs on a two-wheel tow dolly behind my rv from papillion, ne to fort benning, ga. Since there were no pull-through sites available when i arrived at the campground at ft. Benning, i had to remove the car from the dolly so i could back the rv in. Once off the dolly, i found that i couldn't drive forward. Both front tires were facing in different directions. Next morning car was transported to a chrysler dealer in columbus, ga who repaired the steering. Turns out that the inner tie rods separated from the rack-n-pinion assembly. The powersteering rackhad been replaced by baxter chrysler of omaha, ne on aug 24, 2004. Dealer rep in ga indicated that if i had been driving when the parts separated, the car would have rolled and i and my wife could have been killed. For approximately 9 - 12 months prior to this incident in ga, i had complained to baxter of noises in the steering when making slow speed turns and steering wheel vibration at highway speeds. Baxter couldn't find anything wrong. Improper repairsback in aug 04 may have caused separation of parts.

For some time now when i would start my car ,i would hear a banging sound and feel the steering wheel move. I took the car for service and tie rod ends and i think center link were replaced . It was fine for a while and than i started to get a grinding noise when the wheel was turned. Took it in for service and nothing could be found. On feb. 16th 2012 i was leaving work and noticed the grinding and banging had increased. My route home consists mostly of right turns. It is when i attempted to make a left turn off a busy bridge ,to my horror the wheel would not turn left, it took every ounce of my strength to finally get the wheel to turn. I drove slowly the remainder of my trip home, each time a left turn came i had to use all my strength to turn the wheel. I could not park the car properly on my arrival as my strength was gone and i was extremely emotional. I talked to a co-worker with the same vehicle and he is having a similar problem but continues to drive as he can muscle the wheel.

2000 lhs power steering problems.car has 83,000 miles. Good maintenance and upkeep.steering is sluggish, wandering on highway, clunking noise in steering wheel, intermittent pulling surges in steering wheel, constant corrections, loose feel, afraid of sudden and complete failure - plan to take car to dealer where i know i will be given song and dance.i have owned several cars driven over 100,000 miles never had such an issue.

2000 lhs steering mechanism ruptured and caused consumer to lose control of the vehicle. The manufacturer denied the consumers claim stating they didn't find and defects in the steering system.

Excessive play and wander in steering on my 2000 chrysler lhs.3 trips to dealership, dealership blames alignment and tires.have tried 3 alignments, and 2 complete sets of new tires.vehicle is unsafe to drive at highway speeds.have seen numerous complaints of same nature on various websites as well as nhtsa.*nlm

Alarm system: when you get out of the vehicle and lock the doors by one of three methods (keyswitch, electric lock buttons, or transmitter) and not manually lock the door(s), the red light on top the dash is supposed to start flashing and the alarm is supposed to arm. This works only about half the time. Two different dealers called star at chrysler and were told this is a known glitch, and that a tsb would follow. If you want to arm the alarm, you can wait about 5 minutes then relock the door(s), or put the key back in the ignition and turn it to run and back off, then get out of the car and arm the alarm again.

On july 15, 2007, i entered my chrysler lhs to drive home from a local business parking lot. After starting the car and slightly turning the steering wheel, i heard a "pop", "pop". I thought that i had a blow out and checked the wheels. All were ok. I tried again to turn the steering wheel and it turned freely from right to left and back with no effort what so ever. Checked the front wheels after turning steering wheel fully to the left and found the wheels pointed straight ahead. Left the car overnight and the next day had it transported to baxter chrysler for repair. They found that the bolts holding the steering assembly to the frame had broken and as a result caused the tie rods, steering gear and associated parts to break including the rack. This is the second catastrophic failure of the steering assembly on this car. See complaint filed 6/20/2006, odi # 10160292. As in the previous incident, i or my wife was lucky that we were not driving at highway speeds when this failure occurred.

I own a 2000 chrysler lhs and we bought the car back in 2002 with 36*** miles on it.around 15,000 miles after buying the car, my wife was going to make a left hand turn out of a parking lot when the steering locked up.we had the car towed to a local shop and they informed us that the rack would have to be replaced.after paying a thousand plus, we were back up and going.we never heard any more than rack failure.now fast forward to friday december 14th, 2007, i was getting ready to leave work and the car lost all power steering.i limped it home (about 20 miles) and started contacting a repair shop.i wound up muscling the car to my local dodge dealership and they said that the power steering pump has gone bad.the car now has 150,000 miles on it and we are looking at another $600 bill.the power steering pump was not replaced to my knowledge at the time of the rack replacement.both instances occurred at a speed of less than 5 mph.

While driving approximately 25 mph downhill, the steering wheel failed to turn in either direction.the driver was able to avoid a collision and the vehicle was towed to a dealer.the dealer replaced the power steering pump and the rack and pinion.please provide further details.consumers wife was in severe shock. He would like for the manufacturer to be notified of this incident. *ph

The upper ball joints and the tie rods malfunctioned.

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 50 mph, a very loud noise was heard when the vehicle hit a bump in the road, vibrated, and shifted to the right.the dealership determined the right inner tie rod, rack and pinion, bushings and sway bar were bad. The rear bushings, sway bar, strut and strut mount were also bad.

While driving at normal highway speed the steering needs to be constantly corrected. The dealer analysis requires the replacement of the rack and pinion assembly due to internal looseness. The vehicle only has 54000 miles. Surely the durability should be better on a vehicle that is driven only occasionally for long trips.

I began hearing a clunking noise in the front end, upon a warm start.the rack and pinion assembly was replaced, but the problem has persisted.the vehicle is now difficult to control on right turn exit ramps and the clunking noise is present while driving.

The steering wheel had too much play in it, and there is a bad squeaking noise when turning.vehicle was taken to the dealership, who indicated that rack and pinion malfunctioned.

I was driving my 2000 chrysler lhs and the steering failed. I could not turn the car to the left. My major concern was that my 16 year old daughter was using this car to practice driving for her motor vehicle test. If it was her that was driving the car she would of been hurt or killed. I have only 55,000 miles on this car. It had 3 owners all in my family. I asked chrysler and the dealer to cover the $800 repair bill. They of course refused. I contacted chrysler customer service and they refused and were very rude. I contacted the tufano dealership they contacted chrysler and still refused. Claiming the mileage was too high. There are may complaints regarding this issue. I am just look for reimbursement. I will not stop until i am satisfied. Can you help.

The steering rack and pinion needed to be replaced, which required additional force to the steering wheel. Power steering rack assembly was replaced along with front end alignment as per replacing power steering rack.

While driving my chrysler 2000 lhs at 65 mph in florida, the hood molding became detached from my car and landed on the highway behind me. The chrysler dealer told me that this is a common occurrence and that there is an obvious defect in the design of the hood molding. I called chrysler to report the incident, but they told me they do not intend to do anything about this safety hazard.

While driving at 70 mph a plastic piece on the hood started to vibrate and flew off.the consumer felt that the part should have been bolted.the replacement part was still clipped and was not of the same material. *scc

There was a problem with the front end of the car before i bought it, i was told by the dealer that everything was checked and all it needed was a rotate and tire balance.a few months later i take it in to have it checked becuase it has gotten worse. All left turns would make the driver side slam down like i hit a pothole and it made teribble noises going over bumps. A different dealer told me i needed four new tie rods and a rack & pinion. I had those replaced, the tie rods were not under warranty, i also had the ac compressor, transmission service, andtransmission cooler lines replaced. The repairs did not make a difference, and the service department tells me oh we should have told you about the other problems, cradle bushings and sway bar links. I knew this service depatment was not worth the troubles so i took the car to my personal mechanic. He found the rear cradle bushings were gone, there was nothing protecting the cradle, the sway bar links were ok. I had new cradle bushings installed but the front is still shakey and the steering has become worse since a new rack & pinion was installed. The car wonders on the freeway, shakes at all speeds and there are stiff spots in my steering. I have the old bushings, not the other parts that were replaced.

Electrical exterior and exterior flashing and blinking consistently. Check engine light stays on even after having tune up. Heating and ac doesn't properly work at all times intermittently.

Front end vibration 8am on 1/23/02.tires were checked by me and appeared to be ok.4:30pm on 1/23 severe vibration on way home.inspection by me at gas station revealed low tire pressure rf.all other tires appeared to be ok. Service immediately scheduled for 1/24/02.dealer advised me that both lf & rf tires had tread separation and rear tires were ok.both lf & rf tires were replaced per dealer service department. (tiresize: p225/55r17)

The upper ball joints and the tie rods malfunctioned.

Consumer stated that there would be a loud noise coming from under the hood when starting up the vehicle theyre's a posibbility the problems are occuring because of the suspension or struts. Dealer notified.

While traveling approximately 70 mph, front/right goodyear eagle tire, size: p225/55r17, dot: unknown experienced tread separation.there were approximately 16,000 miles on tire, and the tire was original equipment forvehicle.

Valve stem corrosion leads to air loss in tire and a subsequent flat tire and potential loss of control. I have had this condition occur on every wheel of my vehicle and three times on one wheel. Dealer indicates that this is a typical problem with this vehicle but manufacturer has no remedy.

All4 tires have been loosing air for about 2 months, i figured i needed new tires so i took the car to a mechanic and i was told they could not replace the tires because all 4 wheels have corrosion around the valve stems, and this would just continue to happen with new tires,my 2 rear tires do not need to be replace it is the corrosion which is causing them to loose air.i was told they have been hearing and seeing a lot of these problems with the 2000 chrysller lhs wheels.

Air was seeping out of thefour tires. The tires needed to be refilled with air every 3 days. The tire repair shop indicated that corrosion on the inside of rims was causing this to occur.
