The speed odometer never worked right, when driving car stalled and the brakes work and go out .tt

Computer module failed after repair of the abs pump and swtich causing the fuel indicator to read empty on a full tank of gas.

Vehicle began violently shaking and stalled in oncoming traffic almost resulting in fatal accident due to carrier on the top of the cylinder head breaking off.

While trying to make a left turn on a busy highway the vehicle started making loud noise, and then began to shake. The vehicle stalled out in front of oncoming traffic. Consumer began to restart the vehicle to pull off the highway. Consumer had problem corrected.

Glove box lamp failed, causing battery to fail.

The fuel rail on my 3.3l engine failed, the crossover tube sprayed onto the exaust and soaked the engine compartment with fuel. I was not able to purchase a replacement part from the dealer because all of the 'replasement parts' they have for 3.3l fuel rail are for 'recalls only'. So i get a engine fire and lose my car because i cant buy the parts i need because it is a 'recall' item... But not on my car. Or on anyone that drives a car like mine.

Fuel rail is leaking fuel onto 3.3 enginewhich could cause a fire .dealer helped owner acquire a new fuel rail.

Faulty fuel rail. Fuel rail is leaking onto the hot engine block. Fire hazard.

Gas everywhere and could have easily caught fire if i had started car and drove off without noticing smell-my wife would have driven off and been killed most likely.

While driving the brakes failed. The dealer stated that the recall does not pertain to the vehicle. Two years ago, the anti-lock brakes were changed and have gone out again.(recall# 96v099000)the pump did not work and the pedal would become hard to stop.on turns, there was a clunk as if it were grabbing.the wheel speed sensor wire, the r/r axle, outer cv boot, abs pump shield, and the left rear emc brake cable were all replaced. *scc

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial. The contact stated that while driving at 45 mph and exiting the highway, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond. The contact stated that the brakes eventually responded and the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power brake booster needed to be replaced. The repairs were not done due to the parts not being available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial. The contact stated while driving 40 mph with the brake pedal engaged, the pedal went all the way to the floorboard and failed to slow down the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the abs modular pump failed. The dealer was contacted who advised the contact that the failure was related to the recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic: antilock) but the vehicle was not included since it was equipped with a bosch abs system pump. The recall was specifically for the bendix abs system pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

The abs control unit failed causing loss of hydraulic brake pressure. I was told by a local mechanic that the part installed on my vehicle had been recalled by chrysler, and that chrysler was to fix the vehicle at their expense. However, i've been told by chrysler my vin isn't included in the recall. Looking online i've found hundreds of similar complaints on many websites of people with the same problem, some of which resulted in accidents, many paid for repairs out of pocket. My complaint is that this part is known to fail to an extent it has been recalled, but they have managed to avoid replacing a huge percentage of failed parts on cars be excluding vins from the recall. My car, and hundreds just like it have a part that is known to fail and cause injury, or worse, and they have found some loophole that allows them to put hundreds of people at risk, or cost them out of pocket for their mistake. I decided to file this complaint because i almost became the victim of an accident to due to a malfunctioning brake system.abs light indicator is always on. Dangerous driving situation. The car doesn't stop or slow down when break pedal is pushed; it is alarming. I will not let my wife drive the car, accident highly probable.it is not necessary to have an accident or someone death in order to have the problem taken care of. This is an obvious manufacturer defect. There is a recall on the same model, but not on my car. How ever the problem is the same. I would like that the same safety recall be applied on that vehicle.recall info taken from my data.bulletins for 1990 chrysler imperial v6-201 3.3l vin r fisafety recalls tsb number issue datetsb title 685aug 96 recall - abs piston & pump/motor assy.526jan 92 recall - anti-lock brake system high pressure hose .

I have a 1990 chrysler imperial with bendix 10 abs brakes.can i still get chrysler to fix them??its supposed to be lifetime warranty.

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial. The contact stated that while driving 3 mph, he applied the brakes and the brake pedal felt soft. The vehicle did not properly brake as a result. The vehicle was then towed to an automotive store, where they stated that the abs hydraulic control unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was experiencing the same symptoms address by the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic:anti lock). The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 88,000.

While driving at any braking conditions and when depressing the brakes pedal was delayed. Consumer contacted the dealer.

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial. While driving down a slope, he attempted to apply the brakes, but he had reduced braking capability.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership.the current and failure mileages were 81000.

Our 1990 chrysler imperial's abs system went out on an otherwise good car.we are not able to get the anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit anywhere. Chrysler says this part is no longer available.

I am the original owner of a 1990 chrysler imperial. In january 2010, my daughter was driving it when she said the brakes totally failed.she was traveling about 30 mph and when she pressed on the brake pedal, the car barely slowed down even with maximum force being applied.traffic was light and she was able to stop the car without incident.i actually drove it to the dealer taking extreme care to maintain ?a lot? of space between me and vehicles in front.the dealer confirmed that the anti lock brake pump had failed.however they also confirmed that my car?s vin was not included in the 1990 imperial anti lock brake recall that i found listed on the internet.they indicated that the cost to repair this failure would be ~$4,000. The good news is they did not charge me their normal $79 diagnostic charge because they were embarrassed about the cost of this repair for a failure that is identical to that covered by a recall that resulted in a lifetime warranty for the anti lock brake pump assembly on the imperials that were covered.i am a loyal mopar man beginning with my 1966 sport fury, driving dodge cars and trucks since and currently have a 2006 chrysler 300c.i am surprised and saddened with the stance of chrysler and this issue with my imperial.this car is still a dream to drive and ride in.it just doesn't stop now!

Brakes failed due to failure of the accumulator piston seal, recall on component however vehicle denied due to vin.

The entire braking system failed while driving per consumer.

Abs pump/accumulator failed, causing vehicle to vibrate.

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial. The vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign id number: 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic: anti-lock). The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, and attempting to brake at a stop sign, the braking system failed. The contact almost crashed into a school bus but instead, crashed against the curb. The anti lock braking system warning light also illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for repairs or inspection. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The current and failure mileage was 96,565.updated 7/26/12

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial.on march 2, 2008, while approaching a stop sign between 50-55 mph, the vehicle kept going when the brake pedal was depressed.while driving at any speed, the brake pedal is very difficult to depress and the vehicle keeps moving.the first failure occurred in 2007 and the contact paid $3,150.01 for the repair.he was unaware of any safety recalls at the time.the dealer stated that the service brakes, hydraulic: antilock failed (nhtsa campaign id number 96v099000).the purchase date was unknown.the current mileage was 83,823 and failure mileage was 79,923.updated 04/08/08.*ljthe consumer was involved in an accident due to the defect with the abs.

The contact owns a 1990 chrysler imperial.the contact stated that the abs light illuminated on the instrument panel.in order to stop the vehicle, she had to stand on the brakes three times.after inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic stated that the cause of failure was the service hydraulic brakes.the estimated cost to have the brakes repaired is $1,000.chrysler stated that her vin is excluded from recall number 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock).the current and failure mileages were 132,000.

My abs system went out of my 1990 imperial when i was backing out of the drive way i took it to a dealer were i was told that the abs pumpand motor were bad, and would cost me close to $900 dollers to fix. So i look it up on my computer and saw that there had been some recalls on this year of car is there any info you could give me thanks.

In 1996 there was a recall for anti-lock brakes. Consumer's vin# is not included. For the last two years, consumer has noticed that there were times when the brakes were soft, andat other times there were no brakes, chrysler said it was the motor tharturned the pistons. This vehicle was not included in the recall.

Antilock brakes failed.

Recall was on bendicks brakes, have bosch brakes can't repair at any other place than a dealership, yet they tell us thatthe bosch brakes were not the recalled brakes, if not why can't we get them repaired at another brake place?

The anti-lock brakes are not working, purchased car used . Dealer said consumerreceivedrecall # 96v099000. Consumer states he saw the recall in a magazine article.

Consumer states while driving vehicle, the abs system lights is on and also having problems with the brakes.there is already a recall for this reason, however consumer's vin # is not included.dealer was already contacted. Mr

Replaced brakes twice, this time abs light stayed on indicatingabs failure.

Abs brake problems.when applying the brakes vehicle had no brakes. Consumer used emergency hand brake to stop vehicle. Exact same problem on feb. 4, 1997.at that time dealer repaired and replaced the abs pump and motor relay system.

Ea95-016 active, brake failure when applied, extended stopping distance.tt

I have had problems with the abs system, power assisted brake system and the suspension for over a year. About a year ago the abs light came on and stayed on. At this point my power assisted brake system was working fine. Then about a month later the brake light also came on and stayed and i had very tight braking as well as the air ride suspension system has failed and my car now sits pretty much on the tires. These problems were covered in recall #s (91v191000 & 96v099000) however my vin was not covered. I filed a complaint with the nhtsa on 9-15-06 and asked that my vin # be added to the recalls but received no assistance. {odi id #10169824 & 10029413}.. I waited and waited but no response. Since then, i moved to a house about 15 miles away on 1-16-2007 and had to move the car as well. While doing so, i came to a light and the little, tough braking system i had turned to no braking system and i kept going into the traffic at 35 mph and was hit by oncoming traffic. The impact jerked me around and caused some bodily harm. I feel that if this would have been taken seriously the first time i reported it, the accident wouldn't have happened. I am furious and would like my vin added seeing as how this is the exact problem as the vehicles in the recall.

While driving 65 mph consumerpressed the brakes butvehicledidnot decelerate.consumer was able to put the vehicle in neutral to slowdown and stop the vehicle safely. Consumer had vehicle towed to the dealership for inspection.

Brakes: while driving approximately 25mph, approaching a stop sign andput foot on brake and there were no brakes. Raod conditions were wet and vehicle ran into the back of another vehicle.took vehicle in for repair and they put a new brake system in. Vehicle on recall for brakes, but consumer's vehicle was not included in the recall.

When applying brakesvehicle would not stop because the power went out on the vehicle. Brakes had to be reapplied in order to stop. Dealer said abs needed to be replaced.

1. While driving down the steep tollgate highway in eastern oregon, 2. The brakes on the vehicle (1990 chrysler, imperial) failed. My wife was driving and her two sisters were riding in the vehicle with her. The car was finally brought to a stop without crashing into another vehicle or off the roadway. 3. The vehicle was taken to "frontier motors inc." in "lagrand, oregon". At "frontier motors" they received a fax about the "nhtsa recall bulletin" stating that this 1990 chrysler imperial has abs failures and should be replaced with a lifetime coverage. When i called them on the phone they told me they were so busy that it would take about a week to get parts and another week to fix the brakes. I then had the vehicle taken to "yakima, washington" in "central washington" where we live. "hahn motors" in yakima washington looked at the vehicle and said that because it had a "bosch" system for the abs and the master cylinder that it wasn't under a recall and that there weren't any parts to replace this vehicle with nor did anyone rebuild the braking system. The only thing that could be done was to take it to the wrecking yard and junk it out. The reason i am filing this complaint is that i don't see any thing on the "recall bulletin", campaign no.: 96v099000 that says anything about a "bosh" not being under the recall or life time coverage. Please look into the matter for me. Vin "[xxx]" information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

This vehicle suffered a sudden abs brake failure with my wife driving on the freeway. She had to cross four lanes of traffic and exit down an off-ramp without appreciable brakes, and was able to coast into a parking lot. The dealer diagnosed the problem as the abs pump-motor. Nhtsa has issued a recall for this problem for this car, but the manufacturer says it does not apply to my car, only to ones with a different brand of brake system. That is absurd! this is a life-threatening defect. It is the result of defective parts. It is the identical failure to which the recall applies. But chrysler says they will not fix the problem under the lifetime recall notice because the recall did not specifically cover this brand of abs system. What does it matter? the problem is identical. It is a life-threatening factory defect.

Front suspension almost drags on road surface and rear suspension is hiked upward ,blocking view out of rear window.i have taken this problem to two chrysler dealears.one recommended not to fix problem but to get rid of car and the other charged $38.69 for diagnostic test and told me they did not know what the problem is.this is a safety problem which could be fatal if a high spot in the roadway is hit or by not being able to see sout of the rear window when changing lanes into on-coming traffic.i feel this is a safety problem that chrysler must own up to and repair at their expense.

Then, the abs and brake light warning lights illuminated continually for several weeks before the brake system failed to work properly while driving 35 mph.the vehicle was not included in recall # 91v191000, service brakes, lines, piping, fittingsor recall # 96v099000 - service brakes, hydraulic antilock due to the vin.the service dealer was notified.

Bead separated on goodyear invicta tire.*skd

Front suspension almost drags on road surface and rear suspension is hiked upward ,blocking view out of rear window.i have taken this problem to two chrysler dealears.one recommended not to fix problem but to get rid of car and the other charged $38.69 for diagnostic test and told me they did not know what the problem is.this is a safety problem which could be fatal if a high spot in the roadway is hit or by not being able to see sout of the rear window when changing lanes into on-coming traffic.i feel this is a safety problem that chrysler must own up to and repair at their expense.
