While driving the air bag light comes on and off periodically. The owner took the vehicle to the dealerfor inspection.the dealer was unable to access the computer/ airbag controller.
Electrical short, when driving vehicle the fan motor will not disengage, causing the vehicle to overheat. Also stalling problems and electrical problems.
Consumer states the ignition switch and the wiring harness under the dash shorted out causing it to melt.the consumer experienced the same with a 1993 chrysler fifth ave.*scc
Oil leak from faulty head gasket.
During blizzard conditions, engine compartment filled with snow. Serpentine belt was knocked off of pulleys on vehicle start up. 7th occurence.
On this vehicle and another i owned with the 3.3 l engine, there is a recurring problem with the serpentine belt . When it is necessary to drive through snow drifts of maybe 10" to 12"or when high winds drive snow and/or sleet into the engine bay, this is enough to cause the belt to slip off the pulleys. This causes total loss of charging function, cooling function, power steering. Naturally there is no heat to keep the windshield clear of fogging, the headlights go quite dim. I have been able to count on replacing this belt at least once each winter season, and somtimes twice. Once the belt is knocked off it tends to get damaged to the point that it is not safe to use. Each time this has cost about $60. The cost is not the issue, rather, it is the aggravation.
Ongoing problem with headlights/instrument panel, and disengaged cruise control. Whenever vehicle reaches speed of 69 mph. If speed is below 69 mph or at 72 mph headlights/instrument panel and cruise control would remain operational. Dealer/manufacturer were not notified at this time.
My car is leaking gas ive gottin it fixed twice but it keeps continuing to leak.
Fuel rail started leaking for no apparent reason pouring gas on intake, valve covers and exhaust manifolds. This is a fire hazard that could cause damage and/or injury to vehicle and it's occupants.
Electrical short, when driving vehicle the fan motor will not disengage, causing the vehicle to overheat. Also stalling problems and electrical problems.
Consumer parkedvehicleand then went 35 miles to take care of some business. But when she returned home , stopped at a red light, andvehicle would not move.she hadvehicle towed to her home.there, her husbandlooked at the vehicle and diagnosed that transmission failed.consumer heard that there was a recall on the transmission.
The transmission went out dealer say car is not under warranty it was under warranty when consumer said something was wrong with it .tt
I was behind a panel van at a traffic light and started to move forward at about 2mph.i heard a loud snapping sound and rattling noise. Applied the brakes, put the car into park and released the brakes but the car started to move backwards.i set the parking brake and got out to see what was wrong.under the driver's side was a large puddle of transmission fluid and the transmission was leaking badly.i towed the car back to my driveway and checked the transmission case.i found a crack in the differential area.i contacted an aamco transmission specialist and was told that this was a very common problem with this model transmission used on 3.8l engines and most of their business was replacing/repairing these transmissions.the specialist had to replace the case and internal parts which cost me $1000.00.i was given the failed parts was told what happens with this transmission, warning me never to spin the tires--if i get stuck in the snow, call a tow truck.if the tire(s) spin, the spider gears spin rapidly on the spider axle and overheat.one or both of the gears weld themselves to their axle and snap the retaining pin.over a period of time, the spider axle works its way out of theyoke and strikes the inside of the case breaking the case.this time, a piece of the spider axle broke off and entered the torque converter area through another hole it created damaging the crankshaft position sensor.this is a safety issue since, without the spider gear assembly, there is no parking gear.if the car is parked on an incline, the spider axle drops out and the driver leaves the car without noticing the car is in motion, the car can roll uncontrollably.this is terrible engineering and a safety concern.an investigation should be launched with possible recalls/reimbursements for repairs made.there is also a flaw in the main shaft from the troque converter that causes transmission failure--a weak weld joining thin metal parts can fail without notice. *a

Abs problems.
On 9/25/2008 i brought my car to the chrysler place in warner robins, ga because the abs brakes went out. I was informed there was a recall on those brakes.i was charged $498.66 for what was under warranty. On 10/23/2009 i brought my car back because the brakes went out again. The service person stated that i needed some other things replaced but they would work within the warranty. On 11/06/2008 i brought the car back because the brakes went out again. I brought the car back may 25, 2009 because the brakes went out again. I was informed that i would have to replace the dual pressure switch which was locked in the off position and was not covered under the warranty. The service person informed me that before they could check the warranty replacements, i would have to replace that switch which cost $513. I paid almost $500 for a warranty replacement and now i have to pay over $500 to see whether or not the warranty replacements are working. I placed not only my life but the life of others on the road in danger when i drive not knowing when the brakes will stop working. How is it that they get them to work for a while and then they stop working? i realized that my car is old and it was old when i purchased it. I was not aware of the abs recall when i bought the car. I do not understand all the mechanical language as to what needs to be replaced and what is covered under the lifetime warranty. All i want is the brakes fixed or provide a safe car until they can fix it. I do not have $500 nor can i risk my life driving that vehicle to warner robins without brakes. I took 4 chances already in an effort to get the brakes fixed. I can't fight anymore. Not only am i putting my life at risk but the lives of other motorist. I have been given the run around not only by the dealership but others who keep sending me to everybody who can't or refuse to assist me. My car is old but it is all i have. I need a vehicle in this rural area with a sick mother who i care for. Please help.

1993 chrysler fifth avenue has a problem with the brakes.*njthe consumer was informed there was a recall on the abs, however the vehicle identificationnumber was not included in the recall.the consumer paid for the repair work. However, one month later the brakes failed and the abs light illuminated. One month after that, the brakes failed again, the dealer made the repair, but it didn't last. The brakes failed again, but before the consumer could get to the dealer, they started working again. Finally, after the fourth time of the brakes failing, the consumer was told a dual pressure switch was stuck on off and a new switch was needed.

Repeatedly took car to watertown spring because anti lock brakes were seizing up, repeatadly. We had to lose money on our trip to nascar race due to our safety concerns, knowing hills, traffic, police activity in race area. We have now spent additional finds on steering and transmission service.
