Suddenly, the clock spring in the steering column failed. I had no horn, cruise control and the air bag light came on. I had it replaced at a cost of $475. After repair i inspected the bad clock spring. The printed circuit spring cable came loose from its outer connector. I don't believe that it was anchored properly or it was improperly designed. I know of 2 other people who had the same problem with chrysler cars. Since the horn and airbag failed due to this part i believe that it is a safety problem.

The air bag light would intermittently illuminate while driving at various speeds of 0-30 mph.the vehicle has been to the dealer andseveral sensors were replaced.the problem keeps recurring.the consumer requested her money back along with a new vehicle.the transmission shifted erratic at times, there was belt noise at the idle, then engine made aticking noise through out the day and the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. *sc the camshaft position sensor was replaced.the rear light bulb was replaced.

Problems with air bag warning light being illuminated.*mr

Air bag light came on six months ago and never went off. Called two dealers, one wanted $80to investigate the problem, 2nd said it's probably the "clock spring." air bag, horn and cruise control are all disabled. Does not fall under any warranty, i don't feel i should have to pay for the repair, this is not a routine maintenance item, it should be warrantied for the life of the car. Called chrysler customer service (ref. #14889231) no help there, not under warranty.

Dt:the contactowns a 2003 chrysler concord limited.the contact stated that the air bag lightilluminated for a period of time, then it went off.the contact stated that this has been going on for approximately 3 months.the warning sound went off lettingthe contact know that the air bag light illuminated.the consumer had the vehicle to a service dealer on july 15, 2005. They stated there was nothing wrong with the air bag.at this time the vehicle had 31,588 miles on it. The consumer contacted another service dealer and they replaced the control module.approximately an hour later the light came back on.another service dealer cleaned the connectors to the air bag, but this still did not remedy the problem.the consumer has not contacted the manufacturer, but was going to contact them today.

Sudden acceleration. Vehicle took off at a high rate of speed without warning.the brake was pressed to the floor, the car thrown into park, the ignition was turned off before the car would stop. Poles were knocked down, a retaining wall, trees, and a transformer damaged.

The car completely lost power while on the highway. This occurred on a few occasion but this was the scariest. Losing all power i could only steer wheel and slowly move to the access road. Also there has been times where i am stuck at a location because car will not start. Battery is new so i do believe there is a manufacture malfunction and or faulty parts/components.

My 2003 concorde shut off on me while driving to work on 695 expressway.the engine light came on and i stared to lose power. On 06/30/08quickly i put my car into neutral and it started back up and continue to work but would not go pass 60 mph.lucky for me there was no heavy traffic or i could have been seriously hurt.there was no sign that the car was going to lose power as soon as the light pop on the car started to lose power.i took the car to a dealership for service and at that time they told me that it was a shorted upstream 02 sensor . I parked the car and did not drive the car until 09/27/08 to the dealership the car was repaired. On 09/29/08after driving the car for 12 miles the light then pop back on again and the same thing happen it shut off while i was driving.i took the car back to the dealership at this time they told me there was a code that came during the test stated that the cat converter internal was defective and the down stream 02 sensor.i had that replaced. On 10/02/08after that repair i drove another 24 miles this time and as usual the light pop back on again but this time thecar sound as if it was in neutral or different shift and would not pick up speed with a roaring loud noise.i then pull over to the shoulder and turn the car off and then back on again and it continue to drive normal.engine light constantly stayed on.i returned the car back to the dealership for repair at this time they said a different code appear and said the p0420,po430 and they order a ed cat converter and now the left upstream 02 sensor.which they had already replaced the right converter and both sensors now they are working on the left. Car was repaired on 10/06/08after that repair i drove the car to work and on the way home the engine light pop back on for the third time, took the car back to the dealership and now the code say po600 and the pcm and solenoid was programmed and replaced.now i have to get up at 6am to take the car back.

2003 chrysler concord 2.7l engine failed with only 72,000 miles.

2003 chrysler concorde engine 2.7 with 74000 miles on the odometer. The engine coolant got mixed with the oil, not even the 100k miles range and now i end up with a $9,000 paperweight! its not fair that the "poor" design and the misleading information on the owners manual ("the owners manual says that you can go 7,500 miles before your next oil change") has such a costly result, $5,000 for the engine replace, and chrysler is not doing anything about the problem, they're just blaming the consumer saying we didn't take care of our cars! my car has had the oil changed at 3000 miles every time, that's 4500 miles more often than the recommended "safe" distance mentioned on the owners manual! c'mon people this is wrong and you know it place a recall for this engine and keep the reputation you guys work for too long to acquire! love chryslers but this is a nightmare!

Concorde was in perfect condition.oil pressure failure (no light, no warning) caused main bearing to break.only 81,000 miles on car.

The contact owns a 2003 chrysler concorde.while driving 55 mph, the vehicle completely shut off.after several attempts to restart the vehicle, it operated properly.the vehicle was taken to a dealer on multiple occasions and stated that the clock spring had failed.this failure prevents the air bags from operating.the vehicle has not been repaired.the current mileage is 65,816 and failure mileage was 12,000.

The contact owns a 2003 chrysler concorde which was purchased in 2005. The camshaft sensor continued to fail on the vehicle. There was a manufacturer's recall issued by chrysler to replace the cam shaft sensor and repairs were done; however, the failure recurred. Chrysler recall number 18j18182 recall j18 camshaft sensor pcm is related to the failure. The vehicles rpms would not exceed 2500 rpms and began stalling. She also stated that when the engine is turned off it would not restart for approximately one hour. The failure occurred every 12 months. A diagnostic test was performed by an independent mechanic which verified that the camshaft sensor was faulty. No repairs have been made to date to correct the failure. The current and failure mileages were under 68,034.

On february 6, 2007, the right rear door lock quit working electronically.on march 1, 2007, the driver' s door lock quit working electronically.on march 25, 2007, the driver's side rear door lock quit working electronically.within two months, three of my car doors can no longer be locked using the remote control. In calling the dealer, to repair these costs $250.00-$275.00 per door.

My vehicle fails to accelerate at times and it happens all the time.the concord lx starts accelerating okay and then the transmission just stops.it happens at all speeds usually when the car is going around 55 mph then it slowly dies down to about 10-18 mph.i was driving home in very busy traffic on 95 and didn't even realize it was slowing down until it was rather late to try and get to the shoulder of the road.i have had this vehicle to the shop a ttl of five times.only recently, 9-16-04 did the chrysler repairman state this is definitely a transmission problem.the part is on back order and you will have to wait.in the us their 27 vehicles waiting for the same part.yet, the chrysler trained servicemen are stating we can re-set the computer and you can drive under normal conditions until the part arrives.today, my family and i were almost killed when the car completely stopped at a busy intersection in town.i have contacted chrysler from the very start of the problem.their reply is they will make note of the problem.i didn't feel this was enough so i being determined asked to speak with a supervisor or a manager.the answer i got was they don't take calls someone will get back to me.however, i have been waiting for over a year and no response.i have also written letters, but again no reply from chrysler and the dealer doesn't want to be bothered either.which i blame chrysler because they fail to rectify this problem also.i the mean time i have filed a complaint with the lemon law.please note this is very dangerous.especially because most people travel in conversation, with the radio, some on their cell phones, others not thinking they need to be that alert in a brand new vehicle.i was taken off guard three of the five times it has happened to me.today, it almost cost us our lives.people need to be made aware they are in harms way of being killed when this concord fails to accelerate.4-01-03,09-03,05-04,07-04,09-04 twice.

The contact owns a 2003 chrysler concorde. While driving approximately 45 mph onnormal road conditions, the engine stalled without warning.he was able to shift the vehicle into neutral and restart the vehicle.the failure occurred intermittently.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing on eight separate occasions. The power train control module was replaced. None of the repairs have remedied the failure.the failure mileage was 20,000 . The current mileage was 78,000.

I purchased a 2003 chrysler concorde in feb of this year. I have a daughter who just turned 3 in may. She is 46lb.at the time of purchase, the dealership put the child seat (eddie bauer high back booster seat using the vehicle seatbelt due to her size) in the car. It was put into the car using just the tether. Over the past 4 months, i have been doing research because my daughter is not secure in the vehicle.the concorde does not have retractable seatbelts.at the time of purchase, i didn't think about it because in my previous vehicle (dodge durango), the car seat was secured into the car with a locking clip. I figured this car would do the same thing. It doesn't. The seatbelt comes out of the rear panel and does not accommodate the clip. My daughter is well behaved and does sit in the seat. However, she can get out of the car seat without unbuckling the seat belt. I had the seat inspected by the local fire department on thursday who has instructed me that she is not secure in the car. I contacted the dealership where i purchased the vehicle. They instructed me to contact the chrysler customer service.i called customer service and explained my situation and was directed to call chrysler's program fit for a kid.i explained my problem to them and was told that she was not a technician and the best she could do was give me a number to the closest chrysler dealership that does seat inspections. The closest is 16 miles away.called rochester hills chrysler and talked to dave ulmer. He understood the situation and recommended that i go buy a new car seat called the marathon by britax. The harness is designed on this seat to hold up to 65lb. Vs. The normal 40lb. Of other seats.i went on the internet and looked up britax. The marathon does hold a child up to 65lb. With the harness, however, the child must be 18 & 34; or less in the seated position from her bottom up to the top of her shoulders. My daughter is 17 & 34;. She would grow out of that in no time

As i wastraveling down a country road, going into town, i forgot something i needed at home.i attempted to stop, to turn around by putting my foot on the brake pedal.the pedal went to the floor and nothing happened.luckily there was no other traffic and i was able to coast along the side of the road until i stopped.if this had hapened in town who knows the number of peolple who might have been injured.

This is the second time that the bolts holding the pulley for the power steering sheared off. The first time i was driving on the turnpike. The second time i was stopped at a traffic light. Both times i lost power steering. I am lucky that i hadthe strength to control the car. This has to be a manufacturers defect. I do not feel safe driving this car. The last incident occurred on 10/28/2006.

The contact owns a 2003 chrysler concorde. While the contact was standing underneath the trunk of the vehicle it suddenly closed on its own injuring the contacts head. The contact stated that he continued to experience pain in his head. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician stated the trunk shocks had to be replaced. The contact purchased the trunk shocks and repaired the vehicle himself. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

At times, when the trunk is open and the trunk lid appears to be locked in the full-open position, it will silently slam shut.this has happened while i am leaning into the trunk.it has hit me hard on the back of my head three times, leaving bruises. It also hit my husband on the back of his head once.because the trunk is so long, we have to lean in far to reach items, exposing our heads to the descending trunk lid.we are also worried that our three year old daughter who is eager to help out reaches into the trunk while we are loading / unloading the car and that she could get hurt.the lid landing on her head or arms would be crippling.the long trunk lid is heavy so it picks up a lot of speed and hits hard.it also does not help that the part of the trunk lid that hits is hard folded sheet metal (as opposed to the softer plastic housing for the latch).usually, the trunk lid does stay up.this problem only happens when it's cold - and then sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few minutes.
