Consumer states that the air bag light is on and will stay on, contacted dealer and the dealer will not be able to get the parts in until decemeber.nlm
This crash resulted in no airbag deployment even with $7000 damage in the front end of vehicle..the impact was square center of the car and i was told by the adjuster and body shop that the bags should have deployed..i also believe the air bags should have deployed..this was reported to the manufacturer and they did come and check the car and sent us a letter , telling me that everything was ok with the air bag system..i do have excess to pictures of the front end from the body shop and adjuster..this seems to be a problem that needs some attention from someone besides the manufacturer.if you can assist with this matter i thank you in advance.i recieved a neck injury from this incidentand i am still seeing a doctor at this time.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concorde. While driving various speeds at night, the headlights intermittently illuminated. In addition, the vehicle failed to start and had to be jumpstarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, mike caboone, who diagnosed that the wiring in the light failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not offer assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 174,878...updated 08/22/17
Dt*:the contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the key would not turn in the ignition.the dealership was notified and they suggested putting the vehicle into park before attempting to start it. The vehicle was put into park and still would not start.no repairs have been made.
Check engine light keeps coming on and the vehicle will not start. This happens intermittently.however, the check engine light stays on. Consumerwas told that vehicle would be taken to the chrysler, but consumer thoughtthat the used car dealer where the vehicle was purchased was running a scam because as long as they've had the vehicle the problem still existed.
I was driving to work to pick up paycheck and car started to have a pinging type sound in engine, opened hood, noticed no antifreeze (which was just checked 5 days earlier and was at correct levels!!), the engine shut off.i really wish we could get to chrysler about the faulty engines 2.7l on this vehicle!!!i bought it from an older couple and only put 5000 miles on the car.now i'm stuck with no car for myself and 5 year old child!!!
Total engine failure, loss of power steering, brakes at high speed.
On 9/30/03, i was driving to work on u.s. Hi-way 45 in heavy rush hour traffic, and the 2.7l engine on my 2001 chrysler concorde suddenly failed. When the car was later towed to the local chrysler dealer and the proble dianosed, i was informed the engine was completely gone due to sludge build-up. Further more the service dept. Manager suggeted that it appreaded that i had not changed the oil during the two years i had driven the car. (untrue) the problem was not covered by warrenty (expired by6,000 miles)and chrysler and the dealership refused to cover any of the extimated cost.($6,900 for new engine or $4,000 for a used 30-day warrenty engine).
The first breakdown occurred in january of 2004. The engine froze with no warning. We had purchased an extended warranty that covered the damages to the vehicle and replaced the engine.the second breakdown occurred on august 1st 2008. That's right the second breakdown.the same thing happened the engine went from running great to running like crap in seconds. I have been informed that i will be needing to purchase another engine.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concorde.while driving 40 mph the vehicle made a banging and diesel noise ,then the engine shut off.the mechanic stated that the engine failed, and they may have to replace it.the current and failure mileage were 65,000.
Consumers beware! contacted by impartial services group (for chrysler) to settle my claim for $5,561.16 for engine failure. They offere #300.00 after i complied with all their requests for information.
While driving on a side street at 25 mph vehicle stalled. There was noise under the hood a couple of hours prior to stalling. After being towed to a mechanic then a dealer, consumer was informed that the engine was shot, and there was not point in replacing the engine.dealership arrived at this conclusion without taking the engine apart, leading the consumerto believe that this wasacommon problem with these engines.
While driving at highway speedengine locked up when consumer was about to cross a bridge.the vehicle was towed. To dealer.
Dt*:the contact stated black smoke came out of the exhaust and the engine stalled completely when startup was attempted.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer who determined that there was sludge in the timing chain and the engine needed to be replaced.
2001 chrysler concorde, knocking so hard ,felt like motor was going to come out, i could've crashed. Found out engine is bad.locked in garage.oil light just started coming on at stop or idle. .updated 01/11/08.*ljthe consumer stated the oil light illuminated. The consumer was informed there was visible oil sludge. Updated
On may 28, 2004, the engine in my 2001 chrysler concorde failed while driving home from work.the car was towed to the deal (reedman auto world, langhorne, pa).we were told it would be $7,600. To replace the engine.we have 37, 500 miles on the car - 1,500 beyond the warranty, therefore neither reedman or chrysler would honor the warranty.in conducting research on the defective engine i have learned that the steering rack and pinion is also defective on this model.the steering may fail causing the car to veer into oncoming traffic. This car is a death trap.i will not place me or my family into this death trap.unfortunately we still have $8,600. And 2 1/2 years left on the loan.i am in a real dilema.the car has been towed to a service station where the owner will put a rebuilt engine that has corrected the defect for $2,000 less than reedman's.
2001 chrysler concordeengine failure while on highway
I was driving on the highway and my engine just failed.i had it towed to the chrysler dealership and paid 100 to find out what was wrong with my car.they told me that the timing chain failed.once the timing chain failed it sent the chain through the engine and basically destroyed the entire engine.there was only 59,000 miles on the engine which is well below chrysler's 100,000 mile replacement reccomendation.i had to have the engine rebuilt which cost $4,000 and drained my savings completely.
I was driving my 2001 chrysler concorde on the highway when with no warning the engine started to rattle and eventually the engine failed.the engine was a 2.7l and the car had 118,000 miles on it.this was a very scary situation on the highway.the engine filed and the car is currently not running.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concorde.while driving 60 mph, the contact heard a knocking sound, the vehicle shook, and the oil light illuminated.she shut off the vehicle and had it towed to her residence.the contact believed that the engine failed.as of september 5, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle.the failure and current mileages were 67,000.the mechanic informed the consumer there was visible signs of oil sludge. Updated 09/26/07.
While driving my 2001 chrysler concorde down the interstate at 65mph with my three children, the engine stopped functioning and i lost control of my car.i had no power steering and no power brakes. Fortunately i got off the highway avoiding serious injury.chrysler states that the engine has excessive sludge and will not honor the warranty. I believe that the engine has some problem that results in it getting too hot which creates this sludge problem.even on short 4 mile trips the hood and engine compartment are to hot to touch.these cars are a danger to drive and could pose a risk to anyone who is not strong enough to pull the car over without the benefit of power steering and brakes.
Car seized at 55 mph power steering locked up. Dealer inspected it was due to sludge build up. Provided all oil changes and extended warranty claim was denied.*la
On 2/1/07 i brought my 2001 chrysler concord in for maintenance with the complaint that the oil light is randomly flickering on.the service adviser informed me that there is a problem with this engine involving sludge and eventual engine seizure.
2.7 liter v6 chrysler concorde engine in excellent working condition with constant oil and filter changes every 3,000 miles unexpectedly failed. After taking engine to dealer i was informed that the engine had to be replaced. No other explanation as to the cause of the problem was given. After checking the internet we have found that this is a known problem with these engines and that chrysler is not taking responsibility for this defect.
While driving 65 mph engine blew out and smoke started to accumulate inside the vehicle.consumer pulled over, and had the vehicle towed. Dealership was notified, but the problem was not resolved.
I was driving down the highway on way to work one morning, as i had done many times. I was going approx 55 mph and made a decision to pass a slower veh that was traveling ahead of me. As i passed the other vehicle my car shut down, without any warning of lights or anything the engine just stopped. It has not started since. It needed to be towed from the scene. It was definitely a safety hazard. I am lucky that i was able to coast to the edge of the road safely. I have been making a $300 per month car payment on a vehicle i can't use unless i spend $3000 to replace the engine. I am a single mother and i do not have the means to do that. I has infered with my safety and my job.
2001 chrysler concorde 2.7 liter - has been in for service (towed) 3 times due to engine not starting or suddenly stopping while driving..dealer is unable to locate the problem however stated that problem is probablydue to slude buildup in the engine..car has 24000 miles and sludge is horrible..dealer states engine may have to be replaced.vehicle is not safe to drive as engine stops at any time without warning..
2001 chrysler concorde engine failure. No warning engine quit without any warning sign almost causing me to be rear-ended by the vehicle behind me.
I have a 2001 chrysler concorde with 80,000 miles.the engine failed and i still owe $6,000.00.a month ago i had it checked, oil changes, etc..then 4 weeks later i'm at a stop sign and it just shuts down.i took it to chrysler and they told me that the timing chain broke which ruined the engine.this just doesn't seem right or fair.i feel this car should have lasted me longer than 1 1/2 years.i can't believe this is actually even happening...i can't afford this.yesterday a friend of mine had the exact same thing happen while driving her 2001 concorde down the highway.this happended to my aunt a couple of years ago too and her intrepid sat useless while she finished paying off the loan for it.i hope something can be done about this.obviously something is wrong with the engines if it's happened to not only myself but also my friend and my aunt.ho
I had a 2001 chrysler concorde with a 2.7l engine.i serviced it every 3,000 miles and never had a problem.then one day, at 95,000 miles, i was driving it and the thermostat shot to overheating.i pulled over, had a service station look at it, and they said it was something a dealer needed to look at.i had it towed to a dealer and they said the 'engine block was cracked, that coolant and oil mixed and got sludge in the engine and the engine was shot.'at 95,000 miles it would cost me more to fix then the car was worth, so i had to buy a new car.someone told me there were thousands of this exact problem with this chrysler engine and chrysler told me there was no recall and nothing i could do.i searched the web and found a lot of articles about how big a problem this is and how many cars it has affected, and suggested owners report this to you.someone needs to make chrysler do something about this.while in my case it didn't result in an accident (it almost did when my car died on the road), and the car didn't catch on fire, do people have to die or cars catch on fire before chrysler is made to be accountable for an obvious engine flaw?i would appreciate any help or guidance you can give on what recourse i have and should pursue.bob bladelashburn, va
Water outlet housing has began leaking.the part can only be bought from chrysler.just started to leak one day until it got worse and the car now sits in my drive way.
While driving the engine began to clang and the vehicle slowed down, all the engine lights went on, and the piston and engine blew out.there was a smoke color from the engine when i lifted the hood.
Dt*:the contact stated the vehicle was taken to the dealership for a oil change after a noise was heard.a few days later the vehicle would not start.it was towed to the dealer where it was determined to have a broken timing belt due to engine sludge, therefore the engine needed to be replaced. Updtaed 03/28/06.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concorde. The contact stated there was a loud noise coming from the engine and an abnormal oil leak. The vehicle was taken to the dealer from which it was purchased and the contact was advised that the engine was repaired twice before it was sold to him. The dealer refused to make another repair. The manufacturer was contacted but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 106,963.updated 4/11/2011 updated 04/27/11
-the contact has a 2001 chrysler concord with an odometer reading of 67000 miles when the engine failed. The contact stated that he was driving under dry conditions at 55 mph when the failure happened. The contact stated that after the engine lost power he was able to get to the side of the road without a crash, and there were no warning sings or lights to let him know the failure was about to occur. The contact had the vehicle taken to the mechanicwhere they told him that his timing chain failed. Updated 02/16/07.
Timing chain failed.chrysler did nothing.no liability at 37,000 miles (1,000 out of lease warranty).
While driving 45 mphtiming chain broke.as a result the engine stalled.*sc
While driving 35 mph consumerheard a loud noise coming from the front. Suddenly, vehicle jerked and vibrated uncontrollably.consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over.vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined at that the engine needed to be replaced.
While driving 25 mph the engine failed.vehicle had to be towed to the nearest dealer, where the owner learned that the entire engine needed to be replaced.
Driving on i90, 2001 chrysler concorde started loosing power, engine made a noise and started smoking and overheating and died. Towed to mechanic, engine failed due to oil sludge. Filed complaint with the center for auto safety and claim with isg.
I own a 2001 chrysler concorde with approximately 63,000. My wife was driving the car, when the engine seized up. We had it towed to a chrysler garage in shinnston, wv where one technician admitted to many problems with the 2.7l engine. The garage manager, however, denied any problems. Although there were no injuries from this engine failure while driving, we have suffered severe economic injuries, as we have a car that is not paid for, not drivable, and will cost, at a minimum, $6,000 to fix. Although many internet sites tell of how many people are suffering the same consequences as we are, no one at chrysler corporation will admit to this problem.
2001 chrysler concorde with a blown engine due to sludge and no help what so ever from daimler chrysler.left with 2 years to pay and a car that doesn't run.the car has 48,000 miles and is still under warranty and chrysler is refusing help to settle the incident.chrysler is stating that the sludge in the engine is due to lack of maintenance by me which is not true.from what research i have done it seems that these engines are known for this problem and chrysler is doing nothing to fix it or help it.there was no warning, no lights just a car dead in the middle of the street.someone needs to take responsibility!!!*la
2.7 liter engine suddenly fails without warning. Haven't fixed the problem yet. Still owe over 6,000 dollars on the car.
2.7 engine in chrysler concorde just blew with 70,000 miles on vehicle.4 separate mechanics stated that chrysler had many, many issues with the 2.7 engine.oil was changed regularly and all fluids were at correct levels.no reason for engine to completely fail with such low mileage.complete engine replacement to get vehicle up and running again.i believe this is a defective engine which is now costing me $1000's of dollars to repair.there are no events leading up to failure.engine made noise for 1 day, i parked it, and 3 days later it would not start.had mechanic checking and replacing starter, battery, etc.finally determined the engine blew.as of today, the engine has not been replaced.vehicle is currently parked.
The engine stopped while driving on i-355 illinois.
While driving 40 mph engine failed without warning.
I was driving my 2001 chrysler concorde from my home to go shopping in town, when the engine oil light came on, and my car suddenly died. It was towed to bob ridings ford dealership, where i was told the engine had spun 3 rod bearings, due to engine sludge inmotor. My vehicle has only 49,000 miles on it, and i have records of my oil changes. What am i supposed to do with this car. I have been told it is not under warranty, due to owner neglect. So now i am responsible for paying to have a replacement motor put in my car. Which is only 2 years old, and only had 23,217 miles on it when i bought it. If this is how chrysler cars hold up , then i would suggest to other consumers to buy japanese, as my husband has a 1985 nissan 300zx, with 157,000 miles and has never had a motor problem, same oil, same oil changes as my concorde.
Timing chain broke on 2.7l chrysler mitsibushi engine in 2001 concorde at only 69,700 miles.this caused sever engine damage including bent valves and broken heads.
I bought the car from a dealer after a while the motor failed i spent 2600. I had it replaced 6mo later the motor failed it was under warranty (the motor) but i had to pay $800.00 for labor, then not even 8mo later that motor failed. I have put so much money in this car we have only driven it for maybe a year. I'm still paying on the car it won't be paid of until nov 2011 all together i will have paid over 10,000 for a car and only drove it for 1 year. Considering the most me and my wife have made in a year was 35,000 we spent almost a third of a year working hard for a car that we would only get to drive for 1 flippin year. Sad, sad, sad. I have had many cars in the 10 years i've been driving and i have never had one, not one catastrophic engine failure. And to add to that i've never had a car that wasn't at least 5 yrs old with at least 60,000 mi. On it as a matter of fact all but the car i'm writing about and the car my wife drives now had over 110,000 when i got them. So is this my fault? am i the unluckiest guy in the world? i don't think so i've heard a lot of people singing this same tune about the 2.7 motors, so my question why has nothing been done about these issues, why has this motor not been completely recalled? i realize there's a lot of money at stake here, but if i had a company and produced a product that was prone to fail, or break, it would be recalled no matter what, even if it was the end of my co that would happen. So what is the problem, why isn't chrysler being held responsible?
2001 chrysler concord had motor problems.
Engine quit when i hit 97000 miles with no warning. Engine started ticking and it was all over. I had to replace the engine with a 3.5 liter at my own expense.
The 2.7 liter original engine failed due to sludge build up. Consumer stated the engine would knock. Contacted the dealer. This engine was replaced with a new redesigned engine.dealer sentan investigator to test the sludge.
Consumer states:the engine hasa design failure that causes oil to sludge up inside motor, temperature gauge spiked.drove 2 miles to the dealer and lost all coolant.
2001 concorde with 2.7 engine failed 4/29/05 required total engine replacement.
Oil light started flashing as stops or idle. Was told by certified mechanic that this engine is sludged up with oil sludge. Vehicle has had regular scheduled oil changes. I was told engine failure is imminent.
While driving at any speed engine check light came on and stayed on.vehicle was taken to the dealer, who removed theengine check light sensor. Vehicle had been todealer six times for this particular problem.currently, engine check light would not come on even when the key was in the on position. Consumer felt that this might cause more serious problems in the future.
12/29/03 took car to dealership to check out intermittant clicking noise in engine. Upon inspection found sludge. Service department recommended replacing engine with the long block. I asked the service manger what would cause this and he stated 'it just happens". The replacement estimate was $6500.00.we could not afford to pay $6500.00 out of our pocket and continued to drive and maintain the car. It continued to make the noise intermittantly.in may 2004 while driving the car it began making an awful noise. Upon pulling over the car died and the motor had seized.this has had a huge economic impact on our livelyhood.as this car was our only reliable form of transportation, we were forced to purchase a used car that we could make small payments on as we needed transportation. We are required to maintain monthly car payments on the concorde and keepfull coverage insurance on this useless car sitting in my drive way.i still owe two and a half years worth of payments.this car will sit in my driveway until i can save enough money to replace the engine which probably will be after the car is paid off in 2 1/2 years.
Dt:caller's car died on side street without warning. Car was towed. Dealer said the engine was shot, and it will have to be replaced. Dealer did not tell caller what happened to engine. Other dealerships have told her thatcar was a lemon. Manufacturer has not been contacted yet.
The check engine lite went on suddently.we had the crank & cam sensor replaced in late may 2004.we were at 37,000 miles. Just out of warranty.we had to pay over $300.the dealership blamed sludge.this can't be the case.the car has been well taken care of.now the timing belt is going.again blamed on sludge.we have been told it can die on us at anytime.chrysler will not accept any responsibility.why is everything blamed on sludge.there is apparently something else wrong that chrysler does not want to own up to.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 45 mph on normal road conditions, the engine knocked and there was smoke coming from under the front driver side.the incident occurred while the vehicle was cruising.the engine was restarted which resulted in a loud noise and then the engine seized.eight months prior to this incident, the engine was replaced.there was no warning signal prior to the incident.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the engine needed to be replaced.the contact had not decided what to do with the vehicle and the manufacturer was not notified.
I am the unfortunate owner of a 2001 chrysler concorde with a burned out 2.7 liter engine, the same one you are investigating on this web site. I was driving to work on the morning of 7/25/05 on the northbound i90 expressway on grand island, n.y. Traveling at approx. 60 mph when the engine temperature indicated an engine overheating condition and began to shut down. I was fortunate to have good driving skills as this catastrophic engine failure shut down all power accessories on the vehicle. I had no power steering or power brakes at this point and was fortunate to be at the whitehaven rd. Exit. With much difficulty i was able to shift the car into neutral and coast onto the exit ramp and parked the concorde on the shoulder of the road. Attempts to restart produced a grating metal on metal sound and i new the engine was shot. The same day i called around for the best price on the cost of an engine replacement and decided my best option was not to go to a chrysler dealer as they do not honor any warranty for replacement of this engine and opted to have aaa deliver the car to my local garage for an engine replacement. It is now 11/27/2005 and i am unable to find an affordable engine replacement and still paying insurance and loan payments on the vehicle(i still owe $4.5k). My engine failed at 95k miles and i am told that this one of the better 2.7 liter engines, nonetheless i am stuck paying for a dead horse.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concorde.the contact stated that the vehicle's engine coolant and oil were mixing.there was no damage to the head gaskets or valves which normally are the causes of this type of failure.the manufacturer would not repair the vehicle under warranty because the contact was the third party owner of the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to a mechanic shop to be repaired.the vin was unavailable.the current and failure mileages were 77,000.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concorde.while driving 65 mph, the vehicle shut completely off.the contact stated that she has always had regularly scheduled maintenance performed on the vehicle and has only had the vehicle for six months.the dealer disassembled the engine and found failure with an engine slug.the dealer stated that the failure was a manufacturer's issue.the # of cylinders was unknown.the current mileage is 70,776 and failure mileage was 70,000.
2001 chrysler concorde.engine cut out while driving on a busy road with no warning!car had to be towed to chrysler dealer.chrysler service manager suggested a jasper motor($7270.54) because the chrysler 2.7 liter engine that came with the car was known to seizewith sludge at 50,000 miles. Chrysler has not amended the current sludge problems with their 2.7 liter engine.they have not recalled the flawed 2.7 liter engine even though it was a safety hazard.daimler chrysler did , however extend the warranty on their mercedes cars for engine sludge, and paid for engine replacements onmercedes with sludge engines.
Engine started knocking, returned 1/4 mile to repair shop, engine blown after 2nd start at repair shop. Everyone i have talked to about this 2.7l engine say that it is junk.this includes a person from a chrysler dealership.just look at the complaints on the internet for this engine.
Engine failure. We are looking for an engine to replace the 2.7 that was in our 2001 chrysler concorde.
I purchased my car in oct. 2004, with around 32,000 miles on it. May, 2005 ( with 54,000 miles) my engine gave up on me. I was driving highway speed on my way to work when my engine light popped on, two minutes later my engine stalled in the middle of traffic. I was able to restart my engine after about 15 min later. I had my vehicle towedto the nearest chrysler dealer, i was told that i had low oil, resulting in sludge build up. I'd just received an a oil change on april 22, 2005. The dealership told me to see a salesman and purchase a new vehicle. I questioned him by asking how to fix my car , he said to purchase a new engine. I had my vehicle towed to 4 other dealerships and mechanics, they all said that i have some type of internal engine malfunction that can not be fixed. I contacted daimler , i was told that i was out of warranty, and they could not help me. Mean while, i have been paying on a vehicle that does not work, i have been missing work due to not having transportation, and i just got my vehicle eight months prior to failure, so i still owe more that four years on my car. Please enlighten me on what to do. I understand that there is a problem that needs to be addressed on behalf of daimler, why is there nothing being done about it?
My car chryslerengine failed whilei was driving.
The contact's son owns a 2001 chrysler concorde.while driving 55 mph, a loud knocking noise was heard coming from the engine compartment.the noise intensified.the mechanic closest to his home performed an oil change because metal was found in the oil.however, the noise continued.the mechanic stated that it could be a rod or a crank shaft causing the failure, but it is definitely related to the engine.the vehicle is currently parked at the contact's residence.he called the manufacturer who stated that since the vehicle has 65,000 miles, they cannot do anything and have not received any complaints.the vin was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 65,000.
2001 chrysler concorde developed a rattle in the engine.***no answer required***. *mr the consumer was informed the engine was full of sludgeand needed to be replaced.
While driving 40 mphengine failed without warning.
Dt:consumer stated he ended up stranded on the side of the road on july 4, 2005 for two hours because the 2.7 liter engine in his car spun rod bearings.this was the first incident.he was climbing a hill going approx. 50 mph when the engine died.he dropped the oil pan and saw where the bearings had gone out. He hasn't talked to neither the dealer nor the manufacturer.the car has 85,000 miles on it. He has been on line and saw where people are having a sludge (buildup) problem similar to his problem.the consumer does have the old bearings and he is sure that is the problem.
2001 chrysler concorde with approximately 22,000 miles.the engine sieze and ceased to function while i was driving with my three children down interstate hyw. I had very littlwe control over my vehicle when this occurred.the engine has always gotten extremely hot during use even on short trips.chrysler has told me that i did not change the oil frquently enough which caused the engine failure.i think something is inherintly wrong with the engine as it gets extremely hot even after short trips.in fact, the hood of the car gets so hot it can actually burn you when you touch it.i have since learned that this problem occurs with many chrysler concordes and chrysler obviously knows a problem exists that could endanger the lives of consumers.
While driving driver heard a ping noise, the timing chain broke. Owner had the vehicle towed to the dealer, and was informed that there was an excess of motor sludge at the base of the motor. Owner stated that the oil was changed on time, every time. Also, owner wasinformed that the valves were bent.
The contact owns a 2001 chrysler concord. While driving approximately 45mph, the vehicle would hesitate intermittently. Without warning, the vehicle lost power. As a result, the water pump failed and water caused water to leak into the engine compartment. There were no warning indicator lights present. The dealer stated that because the failure was internal, the water was leaking into the oil pan causing the water and other substances to be pumped into the engine. The contact had to shut the engine off to avoid a crash. The brakes have also failed due to the water pump failing. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was a 84,000 and the current mileage is 84,800.
My car's performance had suffered a little. I was coming up on 60000 miles and decided to get some routine maintenance done. That was on aug 13th, 2005. I went to start the car and it would not start. It worked fine the day before. I had it towed to a midas repair shop and they told me that it is a jumped timing issue. Basically it is an internal engine problem and they cannot fix it. I am having it looked at by another auto shop now to verify.
I owned a 2001 chrysler concord. I bought from shawnee mission kia. I had the car for a year. I got my regular maintenance, including an oil change one month before my engine began to go out. My check engine light never came on. I just began to knock one day ( the engine) and about two weeks to a month my engine went out. I could not afford to pay for a new engine and i was forced to send the car back.
2001 chrysler concorde-engine failure.
When at a stop the vehicles rpm's would race at a high rate.the consumer shifted to neutral to decelerate. The dealership has been notified but the problem has not been resolved.please provide any additional information.*nlm
While driving vehicle stalled.consumer was ableto restart vehiclefive minutes later.then vehicle stopped again. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined thatengine needed to be replaced due to sludge built up.

1) my "check engine light" comes on continually. I have had it in three times and have been told it's my gas cap or a loose hose. This is not true, as it came on the 2 and 3rd time, after "repairs" had been done, and i had not refueled the car or driven in poor conditions. Each time the light comes on after i have driven about 75 miles. 2) the lights on the instrument panel randomly fade in and out.3)after getting the oil changed on 5/24/04, i was down a quart of oil by 6/3/2004. 4)the engine runs very hot and stumbles when i accelerate after stopping. When i called the service center at the dealer to express concern over this, i was told i need to change my oil. I reminded them i had just changed my oil, but i then expressed my concern about engine seizure, which i have learned is not uncommon in this vehicle. I asked what could be done to prevent this. I was told that this doesn't happen to people who change their oil. What happens if the engine does seize, even though i've had regular oil changes? how can i be proactive when the service centers deny the problem even exists?

The trunk lid hydraulic support devices are failing to hold the lid open allowing it to fall without warning.this started happening in the past six months and has resulted in minor injuries to both me and my wife (bumps and bruises).i purchased the car new in 2001 and it only has 36,000 miles.the car has always been kept in an enclosed garage and has never received any damage.i fear a more severe injury will result if this problem continues.
