Ignition switch problem with 1998 chrysler concorde. Switch dosen't seem to release after starting, consiquence is that air bags, power windows, power lockls and all related power equipment is non functional. I know of other chrysler products that have the same problem, seems to be a problem in the ignition switch and/or related linkage.

Vehicle experienced sudden acceleration resulting in collision with no deployment of air bag.

Consumer was involved in a frontal collision in whichdriver's and passenger's air bags did not deploy.please give any further details.

Consumer was involved in a frontal collision in which driver's and passenger's air bags did not deploy. The manufacutrer stated the crumple zones absorb enough of the impact so the air bags could not deploy.

On the morning of 10/20/2006, my husband was driving to work in our 1998 chrysler concorde.he was in rush hour traffic and the engine started knocking and losing power, the oil light also came on when he stopped.he was able to make it to work and park the car.only to be told by a certified mechanic that we have "engine failure" and need a new engine.more than likely due to "oil sludge"...whatever that is.we have had the oil changed in this car every 3,000 miles with synthetic oil since purchasing it from my parents in 2001.my parents had purchased the vehicle new and also had the oil changed every 3,000 miles.our mechanic told us this "oil sludge" and engine failure is a major problem with these cars that have the 2.7l engine.we can not afford a new engine let alone a rebuilt engine.my husband has no transportation to work now, as we have 5 children 3 of them under 3, and i can't be without a vehicle due to our middle daughter's health problems and 3 weekly doctor appointments.my husband's job is in the city which is a 30 - 45 minute commute.now my husband is having to take a bus to work and has to add 2 additional hours on to his commute time.less time with family and a car with 72,000 miles that we can't drive!!!chrysler's own mechanics admit the defect with the 2.7l engines, why won't the company acknowledge the problem.i'll tell you why......having to stand up and take responsibility for their defective engine would totally bankrupt them.not to mention tarnish the "mercedes-benz" affiliation.since hearing this i have researched this and have found thousands of people with the same problem and chrysler won't do a [xxx] thing about it!!! my parents have been loyal chrysler owners since their first new car 40 years ago......i doubt that they will continue to be.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving, the vehicle stalled.the consumer tried to restart the vehicle, but was unsuccessful.the consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection.the mechanic informed the consumer that the problem could not be determined at this time.please fill in additional information.

-the contactownsa 1998 chrysler concorde.the instrument panel failed.on 1-6-07 the contact was driving at 65 mph when the gauges on the instrument panel turned off as if the car was off, the air conditioningturned on, and the interior lights started flashing. The contact pulled over to turn the ignition off and on, but the vehicle would start so it was towed to a shop where they told him that the body control module was working intermittently. The mechanic told the contact, that even if he fixed the body control module,he still may have problems with the computer in the vehicle because it needed to be updated.

There was no instruction to check/inspect battery cables that were "buried" behind r/f wheel fender well and below engine.when inspected, they were so corroded, that both had to be replaced at significant labor expense which would have been negated by normal preventive maintenance instruction procedures.

Every time it rains the horn does not work, have replaced the horn, so there must be a leak somewhere under the hood that causes the horn to stop working whenever it rains.

Horn does not work.

While driving 65mphvehicle stalled and died without warning . Dealer has inspectedvehicle and was not able to deteermine the cause or correct the problem.the problem occured twice and the dealer could not find the cause.

When driving on highway and now back roads, car will stall without warning.no noise, sound, or smoke.lose all power.very dangerous condition because i must pull over immediately.i lose all engine power and car will not restart.took car to my own mechanic and two "five star" chrysler dealers.nobody can figure out what is wrong.dealers tout the expertise of their factory-trained technicians.their able-bodied mechanics ran thorough diagnostics and assured me they tested every part they could think of.one dealer even called chrysler directly for assistance.nothing shows up on dealers' diagnostic equipment.my on-board computer is not coding any malfunctions.my car has left me stranded on the highway 3 times at night and two additional times on back roads.this problem occurrs without warning and it could happen anywhere, including a busy intersection.i seem to have a vehicle with an inherent, defective flaw that the best chrysler mechanics with the best training and diagostic equipment cannot find.this is an expensive and, more importantly, a dangerous problem.

The transmission on a 1998 chrysler concord is malfunctioning. First i was told it was one part, the speed sensor. Then the same problem occured. This time i was told that the solonid pack needed to be replaced. Now my entire transmission needs to be replaced after spending money to repair piece by piece. Also, my car is over heating. I have taken it to the dealer 4 different times and the problem had not been resolved. I have paid over $2000 in payments and my car is not working.

I don't know what caused the failure.in 1998 i bought a new chrysler concorde.it has only been dealer maintained.in the last two weeks it has failed to start or run twice - both times requiring towing to the dealership for repair.a diagnostic test revealed a failed headlight wiring harness, chrysler part number 5083852aa.the repair was made by the dealer by attempting to solder broken pin connectors back together.cost for this repair was around $400.when the same problem reoccurred a week later i was told the first repair could not be duplicated and a replacement part would have to be ordered and installed.chrysler part number 5083852aa is no longer made so a substitute part, chrysler part number 4760623ab, costing about $1200, would have to be ordered and modified to fit my concorde.this repair, including parts, labor, rental car and towing will run into the thousands of dollars.the reason for having to order the much more expensive part is because chrysler decided to stop making and supplying chrysler part number 5083852aa.by the way, chrysler part number 4760623ab is not a form, fit, function replacement.why doesn't chrysler have to continue to make parts for a car that is only six years old?

Dt*: the contact stated there was a tapping noise in the engine when started, which continued as the engine ran.when the vehicle would not start, an independent mechanic went to the contact's residence to inspect the vehicle.the manufacturer informed the contact there was no recall for the engine of that year, make and model.

I was driving my 1998 chrysler concord to the hospital on a highway with my wife and my 5 month old baby, then all the sudden, and with no warning the car just stopped . I got a towtruck and i spent 2,000 to rebuilt the engine but still the car is not working properly.i have no idea what triged the engine failue especially that i keep changing oil and tune up every 3 months.

I would like to file a complaint with daimler-chrysler regarding the longevity of their automobiles. Thiswas the second vehicle thatfailed between 100,000 and 110,000 with proper maintenance and upkeep. Ihad problems with the headlights, door seals, the automatic seats and now the engine.i took the car to chrysler dealer, and the service department manager told me i had a bad rod and the engine was virtually shot and wasn't worth fixing. He said he was ashamed to say the 2.7 engines were junk. I have researched my car and found out that there were a lot of others with the same, if not more problems than what i had, which indicated that daimler-chrysler should be ashamed of for not caring or making good for their mistakes instead of ignoring them! this car has had many other problems, including electrical problems with door locks, the power seats, and the seals from around the doors.i made the mistake of not researching the vehicle before i bought it. I will never do that again! i just wish that daimler-chrysler would care more about their cars, and the consumers that were buying them, and then maybe they would have more sales since their customer service stinks. I really didn'twant to say a true statement about service for daimler-chrysler problems. I will never buy a daimler-chrysler product again, as per my own experiences with problems and the responses from the company. If i have no satisfaction from this email, which i know will not happen!, i will make sure that others know what i have been through!, especially will all the veterans that i know and have contacts with since september 11, 2001.

While driving 35 mph consumer heard a knocking noise coming from the engine. Consumer pulled over, and had the vehicle towed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

While driving to work this morning (at the end of my commute to work) i lost complete engine control three times.the rpms each time went down to zero, pumping the gas pedal repetedly seemed to bring them up each time.until finally the engine shutdown (the power steering was lost at this point).the car ended dead on the off-ramp near work.my car is a 1998 chrysler concord with a 2.7 l engine.my dealer (joe jacobby's out of warrenton, va) told me: "it is the best engine chrysler makes", before i bought it!what a laugh!bill walker.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 25 mph on the freeway there was a loud noise and the vehicle stalled suddenly without warning.the check engine light illuminated at the time of the incident.the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence.a independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and determined the engine failed and a new engine would have to be installed.the contact maintained oil changes every 3,000 miles.on one occasion, the oil light illuminated indicating the oil was low, but the oil was at the proper spot when checked.when the contact accelerated the vehicle, blue smoke came out of the exhaust.the vehicle also failed the smog check.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving at 55 mph, there was a rattling noise coming from the engine compartment.the vehicle stalled completely, and the power steering failed.the vehicle was taken to a independent repair shop.the mechanic determined that the engine had dropped a valve, and that the vehicle needed a complete engine replacement.there were no repairs were made.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving 40 mph all lights on the dashboard illuminated as the vehicle began to smoke from under the hood.although no visible flames were seen, the fire department was not contacted.the vehicle was towed to the dealership for initial inspection.the dealership determined the timing belt broke causing the valve to burn out destroying the engine.

While driving at 70 mph on the highway suddenly the overheat light illuminated upon the dashboard.the consumer than pull off the highway and unto the ramp.when the vehicle was turned off steam started coming from under the hood.upon opening the hood they noticed that engine had shattered into pieces. The dealership indicated that this was caused by slug build up in the engine. Prior to the incident vehicle had regular oil changes.this is a common problem with these vehicle.

Dt:the contact was driving on 10-29-05 when vehicle just died.he thought he had gotten bad gas. Had it towed and the mechanic, who told him thatenginelocked. He had no problemswith the car prior to this. Also, had no warning prior to the incident.

I bought a used 1998 chrysler concorde in the spring of 2008. Three weeks after i bought the car the oil light turned on, i thought nothing of it, though i gave the car an oil change. Roughly 5 days after giving the car an oil change i drove it around for the day and the oil light came on again, but this time when i shut the car off it wouldn't start again. When i did get the car to start i took it to harmon's expert auto to see what was wrong with it. I was then informed the car's oil portals were clogged due to oil sludge. The recommended fix was a new engine. I was told the car had only 15 pounds of oil pressure and that eventually the motor will blow due to the oil sludge. Lastly i was informed that they see this problem all the time with the 2.7l engine in the chrysler concordes, and that they can't understand why chrysler will do nothing about it. Neither can i.

Dt*: the contact stated while at an intersection, the temperature gauge elevated to the red area, and smoke came out from under the hood.the vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop where it was determined the bleeder valve ab connector had melted.after this was replaced it was determined the engine needed to be replaced as a result of the failure.the manufacturer was alerted.

Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the motor will seize and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle causing the consumer to pull over. Dealer notified. Mr

Dt: the car stopped while in motion, mechanic reports that the problem was the crankshaft sensor. The consumer was traveling about 63 mph on the interstate when car began to putter and then suddenly the engine cut off. There was no brakes, no steering, no electrical system. As it began , owner began to pulloff to shoulder, then it died completely. There were no dashboard warning lights on at the time. The car was then towed to shop, where mechanic put it on the diagnostic computer. Mechanic installed new crankshaft sensor, and car started back up. Then after this, the next day after coming out of the shop, the engine began to knock horribly, and then the owner checked the engine oil and temperature, and everything was normal. The mechanic reported this time that there was a #2 piston that needed to be replaced. At a cost of 7000 dollars. The car is in the shop. Owner is going to put it in garage.

Engine failure, regular oil changes well maintained. Car was running fine driving on way home from work in heavy traffic, then oil light came on car shut off would not start back up. Had to have police come help with traffic and have help getting it off road . Towed home got it started back up sounded like a bunch of metal in a blender. Drained oil out of car was pureed metal. Total engine lose, no shop would repair, said the engine was not worth fixing, not even worth putting new engine in the car. Every place i talked to said same thing that the 2.7 engine in the 98 concord was faulty and junk.

Chrysler/dodge 2.7 liter dohc engine has oil engine sludge.

Consumer states that while driving at any speed and with no warningvehicle will shut off, causing consumer to pull over.it will be hard to get the vehicle back started.dealer notified.

Dt: the contact owns a 1998 chrysler concorde. The contact states that the engine was making a loud noise, it was like a clanking noise. The vehicle quit while he was on the off ramp. Previously to this there was sludge in the engine. Chryslers claims not to have heard any other complaints on this problem, but consumer has gotten on the internet and seen other complaints for this problem.

I have a 1998 chrysler concorde with 60,000 miles.took it into chrysler numberous times for a loud ticking noise in the engine, they siad they could not find the problem, then my engine totally died.called chrysler and was told to have it towed back to the dealer where they proceeded to come back with there is sludge in my engine from not proper oil changes. Not from me but from the previous owner,(which i bought the car with 23,000 miles on it with an extended warr.)so chrysler said there is nothing they will do for me,and charged me 268.00 to tear my engine apart and throw it in the trunk in pieces. I had the car towed from the lot and it sits in my driveway. But i was also told that they would be happy to put a new engine in my car for 5,000.00 . What a joke.

I own a 1998 chrysler concorde lxi and currently the mileage on this car is around 84000.on june 28, 2006, while driving, suddenly engine making a rattling noise without any warning or indications, and lost power and turned off.after obtaining three different expert opinions from different mechanics, i have been told that the engine has failed and i have two options - either put a new engine or junk it.the estimated cost of repair is around $6000.i called the chrysler today (july 2, 2006) and received a file number (it is 15115756).at the end of the call, i was told that chrysler cannot help in this matter.i have the understanding that chrysler has received many complaints about this problem and in many cases, they have got the cars repairs at their cost.keeping in view the many people complaining about this, i feel that chrysler need to look into this very carefully and must take the responsibility of having it repaired at their cost.i never expected this kind of trouble with this car, especially from a pioneer manufacturing automaker company like chrysler.

My 1998 chrysler concorde's engine seized while driving on the highway.the engine had been ticking and knocking for about a hundred miles before it seized.it then made a klunking sound, and simply quit.the mechanic i took it to could give no reason for it to have seized up.

I own a 1998 chrysler concorde with a 2.7 l engine.we have maintained it according to the schedule in the handbook, with oil changes approximately every 4500 - 7500 miles.the car has 79000 miles on it.about a week ago we noticed an engine noise that sounded like a fan going out. We took the car into an independant shop and they diagnosed a failure of the cooling fan.that was repaired, but at the same time a much large problem was found.the engine is making a clicking noise that sounds like lifters.the shop determined it was not upper engine, and hence not lifters.we can't afford to have the engine torn apart and replaced ($7,000) but the problem is apparently lower engine.i found literally a hundred reports of engine failure on concordes and intrepids with this same engine, many of which indicated that the engine failed (blew up) while driving - which is obviously very dangerous.i was a lucky one - that so far hasn't had the engine blow up, but if it does or if it had, since i live in a dallas suburb with massive amounts of traffic it most likely would have been fatal.i will be keeping off the highways if i drive it at all.

While driving 30 mph vehicle stalled without any indication.

Vehicle stalled while driving on the highway at 70 mph. The consumer was able to coast vehicle to a complete stop. The dealership in an attempt to correct the problemhave performed a tune up and replaced the main computer. The problem recurred. Please provide more detailed information.

While driving 36 mphengine failed. As a result, power steering malfunctioned. The cause has yet to be determined.

While driving 45 mph vehicle stalled. Consumer was able to start vehicle, and pulled over. Consumerhad vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, andmechanicdetermined thatengine needed replacing due to worn out parts.

I have a 1998 chrysler concord that received routine maintenance.while driving on day, i heard a knocking noise come from the engine.i pulled over and turned the car off.the car never cut back on and the mechanic stated that the engine locked up.i phonedseveral engine repair companies and was notified that they receive many complaints / requests for the engines.they also stated that the concord had one of the worst performing and the most expensive engines.

While driving 60 mph vehicle stalled.vehicle was towed to a dealer, andtechnician indicated engine needed to be replaced.

When the consumermade a left turn the vehicle completely stalled. The consumer tried to restart the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. The dealer replaced a sensor , however it did not resolve the problem,as soon as the consumer left the dealer the vehicle stalled out again and had to have it towed back again. The consumer was told the engine was completely gone, also, there was a sludge build up. Please provide any further information.

My engine failed with no warning at all while driving.

3/2/05 i left the car repair shop getting 2 sensors for my transmission replaced, i drove away, within 30 minutes of leaving, the engine began making loud clicking noises that then became a noise similar to a diesal engine running. I drove a total of approximately 4 miles, was sitting at a stop sign waiting to enter onto a main road, my engine just shut down. I was not able to restart the engine and unless i replace it for roughly $3500 the car is no longer able to be used. That is only the cost of the replacement engine without the labor charge included...adding that will be an astronomical amount. This car has been well maintained, i purchased it new in 6/98. Having this happen is unacceptable.

The connecting rod bearings in my 1998 concord failed, causing excessive knocking and loss of oil pressure leading to noise in the top end. .because of the high demand for these 2.7 liter engines the repair cost is impossible for me.

Car will not start after short drive. You have to wait one hour between restarts. Many attempts to repair at our local five star dealer. Fuel filter was changed, radiator, oxygen. Sensor, fuel pump. We were told that ethanol fuel was the issue, and to only use premium. This has not resolved the issue . We have spent thousands on repairs with no solution.

Knocking sound from engine. Dealership said that oil pump failed, destroying engine. Zone manager refuses to pay for new engine. Agrees to only pay half. All recommended service has been done at all recommended intervals. Automobile has been extremely well taken care of.

While driving the engine started making a noise then lost power. I had it towed to a local repair shop who believes that the "wrist pin" may have failed and the only way to find out for sure is to tear it down. They don't recommend repairing due to the amount of work and other potential engine problems but to replace the whole engine. Cost $2000 - $3000. I called chrysler and received a file number. They will not commit to anything until a authorize chrysler repair shop diagnosis the problem and of course i will have to pay for the diagnosis.the vehicle is only 8 years old and only has 55,000 miles on it. I would think an engine has a longer life than that!

Catastophic engine failure of chrysler 2.7 v-6 engine

The engine has failed twice.

Engine stops whiledriving. This has happened twice within the past two weeks. Dealership is not able to duplicate owner's concern.please provide any further information.

While driving 50 mph all gauges went out.then, engine stalled. Dealer determined that engine needed to be replaced.

Consumer states the column gear shift is too hard to shift when needed, consumer used both hands to shift into another gear. Dealer contacted.consumer also stated that while driving the engine started to race, when she checked the dashboard, she saw that the gear shift had somehow shifted to neutral.(the vehicle automatically shifted to another gear unknown to her, same thing repeats)there is a whining noise coming from the engine.consumer feels that this vehicle is too dangerous to drive.the consumers mechanic insists that the scarceness of the part is an indication of universal failure.*scc

My 1998 chrysler concorde started using oil at 70,000 miles it now has 90,000 miles and now uses 1-qt of oilevery 500 miles all reports i read say that the engine is ready to fail i have always changed oil every 3,000 miles and maintained the vehicle to mfg specs so i cannot be to blame.

The #4 & # 6rod baringsfailed.engine slug developed.

Timing chain broke.

Radio (am side) does not receive any signals , only a humming noise

Dt:driver's side seat recliner bolts was recalled.the consumer took vehicle to the dealer and they charged consumer forrecall repairs.this was on 1-13-04,and it was onthat date thatconsumer received the recall notice.the dealer told her that it was because previously someone had tried to fix the recall and parts were missing.the consumer was not the original owner of the vehicle.when she contacted the manufacturer, they just took her complaint # 12395573.she did not have the recall work done when she took vehicle to the second dealer.the radio was inoperative. The window needed a support seal. Updated 12/8/2005 -

Consumer noticed that the headlights were fogged up. This caused poor visibility to the driver when driving at night.vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that the headlights needed to be replaced. Also, trunk lid would fall intermittently, causing injury to consumer's shoulders. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that the shocks needed to be replaced.

Rubber seal around 2 headlamps would come off.adhesive fails to retain rubber seal in place. There isn't any distortion of visibility when this happens.seal would be hanging off. Have not taken to dealer or mechanic.consumer stated that these rubber seals have come unglued and are hanging from the lamps.

Headlight seals are coming off during normal operation of vehicle.this has occurred onfront/left, and front/right headlight covers. Dealership did not examinevehicle for this problem.please provide any additional information / documentation.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving 65 mph at night on normal road conditions, there was poor headlight illumination.when the vehicle was taken to the dealership to replace the radiator fan, the contact was alerted that the head light gasket needed to be changed, which required the bumper to be dismounted to replace the head light lamp. The was made the repair rather expensive. The moisture and dust entering into the head light reduced the illumination power creating a safety risk for night driving. The manufacturer was contacted who connected conferenced the dealership.the dealership determined there was not recall for the head light defect and the repair had to be covered by the contact.the contact refused to perform the repair. Later the head light lamp was replaced by an independent mechanic who did not replace the gasket, consequently the poor illumination problem remained without resolution.

Consumer states the headlights rubber out liner seems to let water seek through causing problems with headlights of vehicle.

Cars with high lights, and blue lights are blinding this old man trying to drive at night.many times i have tipped the mirrors away from my sight when high lights approach from the rear. And the new blue lights are much to hard to fact at night. *nlm

The headlights covers are made of plastic.this plastic has filmed over reducing the effectivness of the headlights. This is not unique to my car.i have noticed it on all simular year/make/model of my car.the dealer tells me they could only replace the headlight assemblies at a considerable out of pocket expense for me.this is not safe - it is an obvious manufacture defect that the maker must correct.

Headlightsgo out while driving without notice.very dangerous condition!

While the trunk lid was opened trunk support struts failed. This caused the trunk lid to close onto the consumer's head.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

Parking brake handle broke off.yh

Automatic shift on the floor. Does not shift correctly. Key cannot be removed. It stays on accessory and drains my battery. There was a recall for this problem, however i was told it was not covered because of the year of the car. I purchased the car in august 2012. Ran fine until 06/01/13. I feel it should still be under the recall. It doesn't go into park properly. I feel this could be a safety issue.

Vehicle suddendly shifted to 2nd gear w/out warning, now will not upshift, has been repaired twice on 11/06/98 and 08/21/99 with the same problem.

Went to dealer with complaint of severe down shifting at stop and car lerching forward into traffic which became extremely dangerous when ice and snow were added as the car was uncontrollable. Dealer changed transmission fluid and filter.continued to have same complaint. Speed sensor changed 3 times.finally car would not shift out of second gear and having computer replaced. Car has 55,000 miles!!!!!!!!

While driving and without warning the transmission failed and fluid leaked from the vehicle.*nlm.

I was reading the news and found the article about a probe being broadened on the dodge durango to cover the chrysler sebring also. I was wanting to make a complaint or bring to your attention that i have a 1998 concorde lxi and this same thing where the car can be shifted out of park without a key in the ignition. This has happened several times, luckily it has never caused any serious injury besides a twisted ankle or two. It is a rather serious problem though. I do not even need to have my foot on the brake to shift it out of park with or without the key on.

When relay fails it causes a harsh downshift to 2nd gear at highway speed, could cause loss of control of vehicle on slick street or icy roads.

While driving 25 mph vehicle jerked. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over.vehicle was taken to a body shop, andmechanic determined that transmission needed to be replaced.

Transmissions lines leak at radiator if leak is bad enough it may cause lose of control at may cause death. *nlm

The column gear shift is to hard to shift when nessesary.spouse could not shift into park and had to leave car in drive position on two occasions and call for help.she has since refused to drive the car.the car could have rolled after leaveing the vehicle since she failed set the parking brake.

Gear shift lever is very hard to move.sometimes needing both hands to put it in gear.sometimes it will not come out of reverse and go to park.

Transaxle floor shifter ignition/park interlock.*mrthe vehicle shift lock was replaced prior to recall notification.the consumer request reimbursement for the repairs.

Dealership is unable to perform the floor shift ignition park interlock recall 04v021000 repairs because the manufacturer hasn't released the parts.consumer contacted the manufacturer, and they were not providing any satisfactory explanation for this issue.

Inadvertent unlatching of seat belt;known defect on mechanism og gen 3 design.

The female portion of the seat belt buckle in the front center seat is cracked. The dealership is aware of the problem. The part has been on back order since august of 1998.

Both front/rear seat belt buckles failed. Intermittentlyseat belt bucklesreleased the seat belt latch. Thiscaused the consumer to pull over to buckle in the child safety seat.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

The material of the seat belt is so thin, which causes the belt to twist on either side of the loop, that is located on the pillar between the doors. This causes the seat belt not to function properly.the problem was reported to the chrysler corporation.the problem has not been corrected. *ml

The drivers seat reclined backwards while driving.

Stopped at red light. Was rear-ended. After being hit, we noticed that we were laying back in the front two seats which had collapsed. The car was totalled. (state farm is the agent handling the adjustment). Passenger suffered mild concussion/ neck/ arm and back injuries. Driver has muscle aches and headaches. I have contacted a law firm ref this incident to possibly pursue action against chrysler and state farm.

I would like to file a complaint with daimler-chrysler regarding the longevity of their automobiles. Thiswas the second vehicle thatfailed between 100,000 and 110,000 with proper maintenance and upkeep. 552(b)(6).

Rear brakes improperly adjusted by manufacturer, resulting in front brakes overloading and warping the front brake rotors.dealer adjusted the rear brakes and replaced the front brake rotors.since the repairs were covered under warrantly, i assume that chrysler (now daimler/chrysler) is aware of the problem.i have a 1997 chrysler concorde which hadthe identical problem at approximately 12,000 miles.very disconcerting to have such a safety-related problem with a car costing upwards of $25,000.

Brake fluid reservoir was contaminated, causing a potential safety hazard.

When applying brakes in an emergency situation, the vehicle did not stop quickly, causing the driver to rear end a suv. This happened on normal road surface, no inclement weather. Vehicle does not haveanti-lock brake system. Owner not sure about the damages at this time. Please give any further details.

Rotors replaced a second time on 2 may 2001 due to shaking in steering wheel at 60 mph, braking distance normal. Rotors were warped. Brakes pulsate when braking on highway due to wearing of rotors.

Brakes failed, rotors

Front brake rotorswere deteriorating frominside out.repairs were made bydealer at consumer's cost.partswere available for analysis. Feel free to provide any further informnation on this matter.

Power steering rack is worn, causing steering to be loose and noisy, consumer states the chrysler service center did not tend to or acknowledge the problem while the vehicle is under warranty.

There is a crunching noise coming from underneath the vehicle while turning left, the power steering rack was found to be defective, dealer would not replace even though vehicle had low mileage, consumer paid for replacement costs.

The driver's side glass window became loose for the first time in march 2000 and it was replaced by the dealer and it was covered because it was still under warranty.the glass window just came down while driving.but just recently on 6/21/2001 the glass window completely shattered while driving.my husband immediately had to take the car to a chrysler dealer and he was very frightened because imagine if our little girl had been around the car.this is the second time that the glass had come loose but this time it shattered.we called chrysler customer service from the dealership but they told us that they would do nothing about it because they don't know exactly what happened.i did explain that this had been an ongoing problem.we kept having problems putting the glass window down.they were very rude and not helpful.i told them that i was very concerned because this car seemed like it had a problem with the windows since we left the dealership, and i even wrote a letter to the president but got nothing, not even an apology for all the problems we have had with this car.i also explained the great concerned because imagine driving in the expressway at 55 miles and having your glass window shatter in your face? what do you think would happen? i also told chrysler that they would do something until someone's life is taken because of their defect.anyway, they would not pay and we ended up paying $527.00 because the dealership told us that they had to install the glass and also the part that held the glass inside the door.i don't know why they didn't replace that part in march 2000 when we had our first incident.so basically this is not the first time.this problem has been ongoing.i also met a gentleman that has a 1999 concorde lxiand the same exact thing happened to him.do you think this is a coinsidence? i don't think so and chrysler better think again before someone ends up dead because of their negligence.

I have a 1998 chrysler concorde! the window has been giving my wife a lot of problems, i had 2 of the motors replaced, the one on the drivers side has broken again, and now it is off track. Similar to odi id no. 748019, the driver's side window broke loose and could not be raised.examination of the failure showed that the sheet metal window support had broken.chrylser's only solution seems to be to replace the window with similar components.very poor design.a sheet metal part bent over on to itself and then glued (epoxied) produces a weak joint.
