Air bag clock spring failed.(consumer is attorney).

On 09/11/03 i purchased a used 1993 chrysler concorde. About a month later the low fuel gauge and airbag lights started coming on,nd my tank is at least half full all the time.the problem is that i never know when the lights will come on and when they do, it causes the vehicle to sometimes stall and jerk violently as if i've been hit from the rear and gas fumes are so strong that i have to drive with the windows down.i took the car back to the dealership and spoke with private mechanics and explained it to them but noone could find any problem.i recently found a website listing persons with some of the same problems i've experienced with this vehicle and find it amazing that we haven't all become a fatality because of the many problems with it.i have a hood that won't stay up, a trunk that sometimes opens by itself, the gauges on the instrument panel goes off and the heater comes on atfull speed, acceleration when changing gears from parking to drive and on and on.i understand that problems come with used cars but some of these issuses werethere when the car was brand new and was recalled.i will be going to the dealership again, only this time i will have some ofthese issues in wirting and hopefully they can give me a better answer than."i foundnothing"(except my money).before this car i drove a 1994 plymouth acclaim which i bought in 1995.it served me really well for 8 years with me driving back and forth to myhometown in mississippi, sometimes twice a year.the adjustments made on it were normal for wear and tear after that long,and it did make some of the same noises as the concorde,but i don't think i'll be buying another chrysler vehicle after i trade this one.i pray that it doesn't catch fire or blow up before i can.

The contact owns a 1993 chrysler concorde.while driving between 2-5 mph, another vehicle crashed into the contact's rear driver side door.the air bags failed to deploy.the driver was wearing a seat belt, but sustained neck injuries.the vehicle was towed and is unable to be driven.the vehicle has not been inspected.the current and failure mileages were 107,034.

I now have permanent injuries from the accident as well as my daughter.we are not sure yet of her extent since she in only 3 years old. No safety defect mentioned.

1993 chrysler concorde - 3.3 liter v6factory installed options:power windowspower lockspower trunk releasea/ccruise controlanti-lock brakes(traction control option not installed)(power radio antenna not installed)(optional transmission cooler radiator installed)(all factory recalls were completed on this particular car)current ongoing issues with car:1)horn randomly goes off in warmer weather (80 f +) due to possible steering wheel construction issues or computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue.2)electric trunk door opens at random and when this occurs, the door locks open by themselves and the horn goes off due to possible computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue.3)instrument cluster gages shut off during driving and when this happens the transmission will shift itself into 1st gear or into reverse while in city traffic or on the freeway (regardless of current speed) due to possible computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue. (this is usually fun to experience while on the freeway at 70 mph+)! not! (rpms shoot up to over 6,000+)4)instrument cluster does not work on engine start and when this occurs, the transmission is stuck in 2nd gear and will not down or up shift while driving until instrument cluster decides to work again due to possible computer system intermittent issue or wiring harness issue.5)the front end was never in an accident, but, when i turn sharp to the right or left while parking or just pulling out of a driveway or onto a road from a parked position, the drive shafts or struts or arms themselves seem to shift and clunk very loudly (similar to a 40 lb. Sledge hammer being swung into your sub-frame in the front end). I have taken this car to 3 chrysler dealerships and 4 private garages and no one has figured it out. I replaced (2 front drive axles, 4 struts, stutt mounts, lower ball joints, tie rods, all rubber bushings in front end, rear sway bar and bushings).

While driving at 25 mph vehicle stalled, then the engine light came on.dealership replaced the camp shaft sensor. Vehicle stalled again within 330 miles. Then,engine light came on. Vehicle wouldn't restart. In attempt to correct the problemdealership replaced the computer/ fuel pump, but the vehicle wouldn't start. Dealership was about to replace the timing belt when they noticed black sludge all over the engine compartment. Dealership indicated that the engine was slipping time.

Battery failed.nlm

Power brake booster/turn signal/hazard lights/horn/ automatic door locks and water pump failed @ 36,000 while stopping on highway in 65mph traffic.problems still exists. Dealerwould not fix it since vehicle was out of warranty. Provide further information.

The door locks release from the locke dposition by themselves.also, occurs while driving or when vehicle is in parking lot.in addition, horn goes off beeping/blaring while driving on highways.

Ignition computer failed.

1. Fuel leaks from injector onto engine (fire hazard)2. Ignition switch cranks engine without turning the key to the start position.3. Loud screeching noise comes from engine compartment while in park and neutral, this is the same noise the car makes when cranking the engine. Sounds as if the starter is hanging on something (like the flywheel or something). I'm not a mechanic but do have enough knowledge to know this is not right and could be a safety hazard.

Purchased car used, the front caliperhad to be replaced . Tie rod bolt to front left wheel fell out, steering inoperable.brakes began vibrating at 23000 miles, when braking brakes sounded like metal on metal, brake shoe on the front left was completely gone and rusted.water pump failed and was replaced.

The helena chrysler dealership made all repairs to the fuel rail.there was a fuel leak from the fuel rail--the fuel rail was replaced as well as "o" rings and gaskets. I did contact the chrysler corp. However they said they were unable to help me and refused to comment on the extreme safety issue.and at the time of the phone call april, 1998 i had to take my car back to the dealership and have the same 'o' rings and gaskets replaced because the intake manifold gaskets failed.i called to find out if there had been any recalls for my car and if any were associated with the fuel rail.at that time there wasn't a recall.i would appreciate any help you can provide and if i can be refunded any money for repairs that would be great!!

Recall # 99v215000 engine: other parts:owner made an appointment for march 7, 2000. After arriving at dealership, owner was informed that parts(s) were not available. Owner was not able to schedule another appointment because dealer did not know if parts will be available. Owner was told to call back in 3 weeks. Please provide any further information.

This recall is a windfall in repairs for the dealer. Everything is now failing because of the age of the car ( from the service manager). I have spoken to other owners of the same car and they are having the same problem................

Engine fire (ohio state police).

While vehcle was parked it caught on fire in the engine compartment. The fire totalled the vehicle.

Vehicles air conditioner was leaking and due to defective evaporator linkage.ttevaporator has been replaced twice, currently when the heater is on consumer smells fumes.

Transmission failed without warning, just a loud bang then like it dropped into neutral.the air conditioner evaporator was replaced in 1995 by a prior owner and again by me in 1998.the air conditioner compressor failed in 1999.i was able to obtain a partial repair history of a prior owner which shows work was done between december 96 and september 97 that includes 3 repairs to the transmission and 2 repairs to the air conditioning.i was very lucky not to have had a very serious accident on the highway when the abs traction control came on and stuck, the vehicle shook violently and i lost speed quickly in the outer lane of a 4 lane highway, the dealer says the cab module needs to be replaced.other numerous problems include dim headlights, wipers do not clear the driver's window properly, replaced brake rotors and pads twice, ill fitting trim inside, a/c leaks in the passenger compartment, rattles over rough roads that the dealer can't find and insufficient windshield washer spray just to name a few.chrysler has a huge problem with quality.

While drivingair conditioner compressor locked up,causing the fan belt to burn up. Driver was able to pull to the shoulder of the road safely. The dealer was called about the problem. The problem has not been corrected. Please provide any further information.

The air conditioner suddenly stopped working and was diagnosed with a failed evaporator coil. I questioned how an evaporator coil could fail, since in my experience having owned more than 80 vehicles i have never heard of an evaporator coil just failing for no apparent reason. I was informed that the materials used to manufacture the evaporator coil are subject to corrosion and rapid failure when the system is charged with r-134 refrigerant. Those systems that failed prior to reaching 70,000 miles were replaced free of charge by the manufacturer, but no attempt was made to notify customers that there was a problem with the components unless the system actually failed. Those of us who had these failures occur after the 70,000 mile cutoff are faced with approximately $1,000 in repair costs. The really terrible part about this is that the dealer informed me the system will probably fail again within 2 years and there is no better component available to eliminate this problem. He also indicated that this is not a problem unique to chrysler, rather all manufacturers are experiencing similar problems after switching to the new refrigerants. It appears that the consumers have been duped again.

This car has been a mechanical nightmare!chrysler has had no interest in working with me to repair the numerous problems.chrysler dealers are shady at best in respect to honest repairs.i can't even get the name of a chrysler rep from the local dealer (beck chrysler in palatka, fl) to oversee current repair work. A/c has broken down every year since i have owned the car.although there is an airbag recall, chrysler has not sent notification, help!

Fuel rail leakage causing strong gas smell inside of car. This is a fire hazzard! fuel sending unit shorting out intermittently to show low fuel level,more so after fuel fill-up. Headlights not bright enough .

On 09/11/03 i purchased a used 1993 chrysler concorde. Dealer had fixed recall c45 - floor shifter ignition/park interlock on 93 chrysler concorde. Picked up car from dealer and returning home at 40 mph (rt 124 md) when suddenly the engine hood pops open and slams against the front wind shield with a loud bang. Windshield not damaged. Somehow managed to pull the hood away from the windshield to be able to drive home. Hood distorted and crumpled. Hood shocks and hinges ripped. Hood suddenly opening was probably caused by defective hood lock.

At low speed 20mph in parking lots or heavy traffic with a/c on all gauges the instrument on panel would go off immediately and the heater comes on blowing at full speed.took the vehicle to dealer no warranty for electrical problems. Chrysler transmission is defective as evidenced by many other entries / complaints. Information gathered from website (defective chrysler transmission). It is unacceptable to allow a major corporation to continually bilk the consumer out of 1000's of dollars. This defect is known by the manufacturer and has even been 'hidden' by the convenient renaming of the transmission.

Is defective and unsafe.the dealer parts department states that the entire seat track assy. Must be replaced at a cost of $450 or so in parts alone.in that the passenger seat is unstable and that the problem is a defect in materials or design, i believe that this problem should be grounds for a recall and no cost repair.in addition, both passenger and driver seat tracks have had 6 inch plastic guides break and come loose from the track assy.this causes the seats to be mildly unstable and loose.

I was pulling out of my parking spot, i had to turn the steering wheel almost all the way to the rite to get out. When my front tires came off the drive way( or curb) i heard a snap. My tires wouldnt move after that. The steeriing wheel would move but my tires wouldnt. I had to pay $150 to have it towed to a an auto shop ($50), have them look at it and tell me what had happened($70), and have it towed back($50). The auto shop told me that two bolts that hold the tie rods to the rack and pinion had snaped in half. They wanted $820 to fix it. I had them tow it back to my parking spot. I took the rack and pinion out myself and got the bolts out. I am still in the process of fixing this problem. My wife had looked online to see if this problem had happened to anyone else. She found that this has happened to quite a few people. I have a friend who ownes a 1994 dodge intrepid. My friend said the same thing happened to his car. He was driving when it happened to him, he lost control of his car and was hit by another car. My wife found a story of a couple of people that had this problem and it ended up taking the lives of there 18 yr old daughter and her boyfriend. I couldnt find a recall for it on your website. I dont know if you or the company's who have built these cars know of this problem. It would be much appreciated if it were investagaed. Before it takes anymore lives.

This is an ongoing, intermittent problem that started approx. 6-12 months ago and has steadily worsened.the steering wheel vibrates rapidly up and down, and generates a loud machine-gun like noise.this occurs intermittently and lasts anywhere between 0 - 15 seconds.it can occur on smooth as well as bumpy roads.it generally happens on local roads at speeds between 35 - 40 m.ph.don't know if this problem is related to lower control arm attaching brackets that are the subject of the nhtsa campaign no. 99v215000.have not received any notification of recall, but am anxiously awaiting notice so that i can bring in my car to the dealer only once to look at both probelms.

Nhtsa recall 99-v-215-000: vehicle description:passenger vehicles.the lower control arm attaching brackets can crack due to fatigue and separate from the engine cradle.consumer's vehicle has the same problem. Dealer notified.

Lower control arm failed.

Was backing out of driveway when vehicle failed to move forward or backwards. Vehicle was towed to transmission shop. Was informed by mechanic part of frame on lower control arm had separated due to crack. Manufacturer informed owner, after being notified, that there was no recall on vehicle. Consumer called back & was informed there wasa recall on vehicle but no notice went out as of yet. Recall #99v215000.

Consumer has been unable to have recall repair 99v-215 of the lower control arm completed due to dealer problems (consumer also mentioned recall mfg campaign# - 883) information regarding the component was not provided by consumer.

Consumer believes the recall 99v-215 on the lower control arm attaching bracket may have caused transmision problem with his vehicle.nlm

Prior to recall, the lower control arm cracked and separated from the engine causing transmission to malfunctions and resulting in a power loss. Yh

While making a left turn consumer heard a loud clunk and lost control of the vehicle as it fell to the street, the lower ball joint broke causing the right axle to pull apart, about 8 months later while backing out of a parking spot the left ball joint failed and the vehicle fell to the pavement.nlm

Sway bar links failed.

Wheel bearing was replaced, eliminating front end vibration.rear view mirror fall off twice, once while driving almost causing an accident.front brakes or actually the tractioned control unit malfunction causing the brakes to stay on intermittently from a standing start under normal dry road condition.air conditioner leaked fumes into the interior causing a refrigerant odor, replace o rings.ignition switch replace twice, due to key could be taken out of the ignition whild driving, but at rest position the key could not be removed.car can suddenly violently downshifts, without warning , while driving at higher

Rear suspension arm bolts failed from rust.

Rear control arm brackets broke at highway speeds.manufacturer has been notified.

Abs main power relay failed, also replaced power steering rack/water pump/windshield wiper motor/left sway bar.

The car has only been used in normal service.

Tire fell off of on 1-31-00. Then, consumer received a recall letter in early february, and contacted dealership soon after. Dealership has since then not been able to fix the recall duelack of parts frommanufacturer. *ml

Lifeliner ste, p205/70r15, dot utytc4l418, replacement equipment with 28000 miles on a 1993, chrysler, concorde.tread separation on front and rear passenger side tires while vehicle was parked.

Remote entry module replaced. *sd

Drivers seat just collapsed flat!! this could have killed me!! some cheap part probably failed. No safety defect listed in summary.

I have pictures available.contacted dealer & manufacturer believes it is manufacturer's defect .. Chryslerrefuses to help,wants $2200 to fix problem.. Could have had major accident if failed while on highway. *no safety defect mentioned in summary or component (s) lised.

Car was parked in the parking lot,went to back out of the parking lot and car accelerated backward, causing consumer to hit another car .please describe .

With foot on brake, put car in reverse moving a short distance-backing out of parking space, with foot still on brake, changed gea rto drive, vehicle acceleratedforward, went over a cement parking guide, stroke a tree and stopped.

Dt: consumerbought(1993 chrysler concorde five months ago. Took it to dmv, and noticed that there were less miles on it thanwas originally told.then ,consumer realized that the odometer was going backwards. Went back to the dealer, and they told consumerthat the dmv told them that after 10 years the miles on a vehicle did not matter.also, theytoldthe consumerthat the best they could do was put in a new odometer, and simply set it for the amount of miles that they had told the consumerwas there in the first place.

Throttle position sensor failed, causing banging into gears.

My daughter who is a new driver was driving on the highway when the car began to accelerate to around 90-95 mph, she hit the brakes and began to loss control of the car , it was raining and the roads were wet. While trying to avoid hitting another car she began to slide across the highway and hit the center barrier wall . She has a lot of bruising and scrapes luckily nothing major. The car was totaled.

Was driving approximately 35mph when accelerator went wild & stuck. Had applied brakes hard to stop. Shifted vehicle into neutral & turned vehicle off.vehicle at dealership.

On 09/11/03 i purchased a used 1993 chrysler concorde. About a month later the low fuel gauge and airbag lights started coming on,nd my tank is at least half full all the time.the problem is that i never know when the lights will come on and when they do, it causes the vehicle to sometimes stall and jerk violently as if i've been hit from the rear and gas fumes are so strong that i have to drive with the windows down.i took the car back to the dealership and spoke with private mechanics and explained it to them but noone could find any problem.i recently found a website listing persons with some of the same problems i've experienced with this vehicle and find it amazing that we haven't all become a fatality because of the many problems with it.i have a hood that won't stay up, a trunk that sometimes opens by itself, the gauges on the instrument panel goes off and the heater comes on atfull speed, acceleration when changing gears from parking to drive and on and on.i understand that problems come with used cars but some of these issuses werethere when the car was brand new and was recalled.i will be going to the dealership again, only this time i will have some ofthese issues in wirting and hopefully they can give me a better answer than."i foundnothing"(except my money).before this car i drove a 1994 plymouth acclaim which i bought in 1995.it served me really well for 8 years with me driving back and forth to myhometown in mississippi, sometimes twice a year.the adjustments made on it were normal for wear and tear after that long,and it did make some of the same noises as the concorde,but i don't think i'll be buying another chrysler vehicle after i trade this one.i pray that it doesn't catch fire or blow up before i can.

Owner states that while driving vehicle on the highway at 50mph went to pass another vehicle and accelerator pedal got stuck. Had to apply brakes very hard to stop vehicle .owner also notes that dealers cannot find problem.

Chrysler concorde 1993 cruise control engages without being activated. On may 13, 2004, the cruise control was disconnected and the same thing happened:the cruise light came on and the car hesitates and shudders. After a second or two, the light goes off.

Fuel system is leaking.ttconsumer states ignition switch sticks, heating sytem is inoperativedoes not defrost windows, air is inoperative.

Dt: the contact statedupon starting thevehicle the heater automatically came on.the heater blew at maximum speed.the controls did not work, allowing him to adjust the heat settings.the heater will cut off after approximately 45 minutes.the dealer could not determine the cause of the problem.

Odors are cominginto the passenger's compartment through the heating and evaporation systemdue to bacteria growth . Dealer has been made aware of the problem.

In freezing temperatures the turn signals will not work, and the windows will be frozen shut.tt

Passenger's side airbag cover came off.3 window switches have been replaced.consumer replaced complete air conditioner unit.driver side safety belt was replaced.

First the headlight lenses clouded over; had to be replaced.then the injector shot fuel on the engine, car caught fire; $3600 in damage.then the rearview mirror fell off thrice; bought a new one.the car constantly runs hot since last year; replaced cooling block; now it only runs hot when idling or in stop-n-go traffic; have to run the heater to keep it from overheating; mechanic cant find the cause; ac temp changes from cool to tepid when car idles at a traffic light; once car begins to move, air retuns to cool.the overhead computer just quit, as well as the electronic climate control unit(ecu); ecu replaced.when outside temp drops around freezing car has a banging noise underneath, until it warms up.remote door locks quit working within 2 years of ownership.

Fuel injection: fuel rail leaks, spills gasoline on top of engine, could cause a fire.consumer sttes there have been other product defects such as the transmission, water pump, timing belt, door lock and trunk lock and the rear view mirror consumer states some were covered by warranty.

Rear view mirror fell off.

Window seal fell out.

Bracket on the rear wheel broke, causing strut to become unattached while driving and rear wheel has a lot of play.
