I have a 300m, andi have two cracks on my passenger airbag.
I crashed into sand barrels after i was cut off the road and using my best judgement, tried to utilize the exit.the center to left of my 1999 chrysler 300m was crushed and the car was totalled at over 80 percent damage.i received only whiplash and a bruise from the seatbelt.so where were the airbags?chrysler claimed, during a phone call, that airbags are smarter and the computer senses the extent of necessity for airbag deployment.when the collision shop declared the auto a total loss at first sight, along with the allstate appraisor, i had to question the validity of the chyrsler statement. Chrysler says that the computer can estimate the time that the car goes from (i.e) 60 to zero and makes the decision to deploy.other cars in the collsion lot had similar damage and their airbags were hanging out of their dashboards.
1. Engine looses power and shuts down while driving.2. Engine looses power while driving and restarts by itself.3. Engine looses power while driving and does not restart for hours.4. Engine is reading no codes,check engine light does not flash.a diagnostic test will not show anything is wrong.this car is a 1999 chrysler cirrus lxi.
Car developeded an electrical short underhood, resulting in smoke coming out of engine compartment.this appeared to be very close to ignition but since i was in city traffic the smoke was noticed almost immediatley.i am reporting this to you so that it may be properly recorded.electrical shorts in this new of a vehicle should be a major concern for everyone.especially since this car is normally housed in an attached garage in my home.please let me know if any other reports of this nature have been filed.
Oil light in well-maintained 1999 3.5l chrysler 300m came on at 68,565 miles in front of dealer, where car was left. Engine making no unusual noises when shut off. Informed that when restarted for diagnostic testing, engine was making noises indicating substantial top and bottom end damage, necessitating replacement for $5,180.22. Was given chrysler's customer service number by dealer, but chrysler states there is nothing they would do about it since it was no longer under warranty. This is clearly premature engine failure for which the manufacturer should bear some responsibility. Vehicle had also had premature steering rack wear several years prior that was repaired under warranty.
I have a 1999 dodge durango going in for it's second transmission replacement at a cost of $1,900,the car has 108k miles.
I was turning into my driveway when i lost steering.the vehicle was towed to gas station for repair. Both bolts attaching the inner tie rods to the rack and pinion steering mechanism had sheared. The bolts were replaced. I have the old bolts.
The contact owns a 1999 chrysler lhs.the contact took the vehicle to have the tires changed.the mechanic noticed that the tires were wearing too quickly and stated that the bolts inter-rack was a quarter of an inch unscrewed.the mechanic determined that the vehicle was unsafe to drive.the contact is not the original owner of the vehicle and stated that it was previously in two minor crashes.the current and failure mileages were 124,000.the consumer stated this is the 3rd rack and pinion installed on this vehicle in a 3 year period. The consumer stated the rack and pinion is replaced every 20,000 miles. Updated 09/05/07

Roadside waranty contract to replace tire and rim damaged by pothole was not enforced at time of incident
While shifting into reverse, the engine accelerated on its own and locked into a very high rpm, causing the vehicle to shoot out of its parking place, across the aisle between the rows of parked cars and into a parked vehicle on the other side of the aisle.when the 300m came to rest against the vehicle, both the driver and passenger noted that the gear shift lever in the center console was in the park position.subsequent investigation by cincinnati ins and keystone chrysler concluded that "nothing was wrong".owners disagree, and are concerned about a possible repeat occurrence.
