Takata recall - just received recall - 3-2016.was in accident 02-2015 involving head-on collision - air bags did not deploy - vehicle was impounded - pd as well asimpound lot personnel and autobody shop adjacent all questioned why airbags had not deployed.vehicle had to be inspected prior to my being able to remove it from pound for safety concerns.was advised to have dealer check airbags and why no deploy.this was done and dealer advised only sensors are working.no further explanation.i have continued to drive vehicle.then received this recall notice r25 / nhtsa 15v-313 and started do some research. I should have been notified months ago on this recall and does this defect have any effect of bags not deploying when they should?at time of collision i was traveling on city street and was rear-ended, side-swiped multiple times with eventual head-on collision - winter storm conditions / the vehicle that struck me after first impact slid uphill coming down and hitting side of car several times in a bounce off manner before head-on collision (head-on happened -before i even realized i had been struck in rear or side)- state farm claim 065v22149 - no one listened to my concerns and those expressed by pd officers and lot employees (who are daily exposed to this) about why airbags did not deploy.also very delinquent in notification of recall.

I have called my local dodge / chrysler dealer for over a year now to get this recall fixed and they tell me they do not have parts to fix this and im on a wait list and have been for over a year.

"takata recall"- how long will consumers have to wait on chrysler/dodge/ram/jeep to manufacturer parts so that consumers are no longer at risk for death-by-airbag, but also keep owners who want to sell their vehicles trapped with them because of the recall sitting with vehicles that continue the diminish in value???? this recall process is a joke played on the people & chrysler continues to stall(pun definitely intended). The government needs to make them act now & penalize them further by making chrysler pay consumers for devaluation of vehicles!!

Airbag light continually appeared and beeped. Took the aspen to the dealer, oliver joseph twice. The first time was 1/22/15. The service center told myself and my wife they could not understand what the problem was, and could not repair. I then called chrysler corp customer service on 2/03/15, and they took note of the situation. I never heard back from chrysler and called back on 3/26/15 and they notified me of the airbag recall, and since my airbag light is continually on and beeping, they will make sure i have priority when parts are available. I am writing this complaint on 7/31/15 and have not heard back from anyone. I am very concerned for my wife's safety with the recall and the fact this light is emitted from unknown origin. Chrysler has record of all my calls.

Chrysler 2007 aspen with hemi engine.water intrusion causing the airbags to get wet.due to a problem with the design of the vehicle, water does not drain properly and is soaking the side airbag panel and also the electrical panel in the truck causingthe control warning panel to completelylight up.this is causing the side airbags to be compromised and possibly the passenger front airbag.the drainage problem was brought to chrysler's attention numerous times and they did not find a corrective solution.

My four wheel drive automatically engages.dealer wants me to spend money on parts and are only guessing that those parts will fix the problem. Not once have they checked the wiring. The engagement happens when stationary (unlocking the car). Sometimes when i turn at very low speeds. The lights come one when driving high speed but nothing happens. The following lights turn on: 4wheel service, electronic stability. I feel it is a wiring problem.

We purchased a 2007 chrysler aspendec 23, 2006. The next day the car suddenly lurched while i was backing out of the driveway at my inlaws' home.it was shocking & my family was shouting out for me to stop the car. I was able to control it & keep from hitting other vehicles but it was very difficult.the next week iwent to exit the parking lot of our safeway store to go on to the main street.i was stopped to turn right when the car lurched into oncoming traffic.horns blared & cars swerved to avoid hitting me.i was just waiting to be hit!i took the car to dealer w/466 miles on it.they said they "could not verify concern; operating as designed at this time."in feb while i was backing out of our garage the car lurched violently when i put it in reverse & jumped about 3 feet.my wife was standing in the doorway & began screaming.she called the service rep crying because she believed i would be killed if i continued to drive it.i took it to dealer.they kept it, & were "unable to verify concern;vehicle is operating as designed at this time; miles out 1040." my wife refuses to drive the car because of this life threatening defect.also when you insert key in the ignition it starts @ 1300 rpm's.the dealer says we should let car settle down to about 600 rpm's which requires a full minute of waiting in the car before you can start to move.they think this might be part of the problem but tell us there is no way to fix it.so we have a car that must sit before you can use it; you absolutely cannot ever valet it for fear the attendant might be involved in a lurching incident. On june 4, 2007 service advisor told me 3 other aspens are reporting this problem. We are setting up a mtg w/gm to arrange to turn in this car.my wife has set up a file on the car & advised family members where it is in the event we are killed in an accident while driving this car so they can investigate if the lurching/bucking action of the car caused the accident.

My wipers comes on every time i start my truck. On 8/3/14 it was raining and i had the wipers on high cause of heavy rain and they stopped working and would run slow. The wipers would intermittently malfunction and cause the wipers to become inoperable or it would operate abnormally. I also have problems with my the turn signals, the signal selected was opposite of the signal activated. When activating the left turn signal the right would activate. The same happens when the right signal is activated the left activates erroneously.

Two weeks ago, we had the air bag repaired at the dealer due to a recall. Today, i tried to turn on my car, it would not turn on and all inside lights are flashing. I towed it to the same dealer and they told me that the electric modules could be the problem, they suggested to change the front control panel and charge me $1,600. If problem persist, they might need to check other modules, i.e. $4,000-6,000 charge. Before changing the air bag recall, i never had a problem. Can you help please.

When the alternator started to fail the driver's dashboard such as the speedometer and any other instruments malfunctions.while driving the speedometer would reed 0 miles per hours even though the vehicle is in motion.i have recorded the issue in a video format.

We bought the chrysler aspen with the hemi enginenew in 2007.the following year the problem began to rear its ugly head.constant electrical problems due to water intrusion from the sun roof due to poor drainage.truck was serviced numerous times by chrysler with no positive results.truck is hazardous to drive because all dash board lights will go on when it's raining or after its rained which causes a distraction while driving.this issue has happened while driving on a highway at 65 mph, city streets and also while the truck is stationary.this issue has been documented numerous times and chrysler has made no effective engineering remedy.they even blame the environment i.e.trees for causing the problem as refusal to honor their warranty.we purchased the truckwith a lifetime warranty and the truck was serviced in an attempt to correct the systemic problem.it is chrysler's position that the environment is the cause of the problem not the engineering of the truck.their are millions of cars and trucks with sunroofs that are left outside that don;t have leaks or electrical problems because of poor drainage. We have 32 pages of invoices from the chrysler service dept, the vast majority are electronic problems.when we called chrysler corp. And finally spoke to someone today 6/24/16, we were told its the environment we can't speak to anyone higher then her, case closed, life timewarranty voided for electrical issues.

Suspension: every time you hit a bump or pot hole the vehicle throws you across the lane. Fuel tank: every time you fill the gas tank up and when the pump clicks off the gas spits out of the tank and lands all over you and the vehicle.electrical: the dashboard will light up with the oil symbol flashing on and off.air conditioning: the compressor blows hot air and now the engine speeds up like it's going to explode.

After filling up the gas tank the vehicle shuts off while driving causing it to lose braking and power steering.the vehicle also shuts off while at a stand still.this only happens after filling up the gas tank and seemed to be caused by a faulty fuel tank rollover valve that is built into the gas tank so it cant be changed. The whole fuel tank has to be changed and the fuel tank is no longer available anywhere.i'm forced to drive a ticking time bomb because there is no way to fix this problem that should be a recall.

My 2007 chrysler aspen was in "park" at a gasoline station.the car shifted into reverse while i was filling the tank.i tried to jump in the car as it was rolling and was drug along the cement.the car was eventually stopped when the door hit a cement pole.this resulted in approximately $2200 in damages to the door of the vehicle and quite a few cuts, scrapes and bruises on my body.the car had shifted out of gear several times before (usually while i was in reverse) and had been reported to chrysler, but because they couldn't get the car to do it while it was in the shop, they refused to fix it.the key also would stick when starting the car leaving it to rev while i tried to get the key out.i was told by the repairman that chrysler was aware of these issues, but until they found a fix there was nothing they could do.i have read where other chrysler models were recalled for these same issues, but the aspen has never been included in the recall.i have since traded in the vehicle for another brand because of these issues.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. After restarting the engine, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The contact indicated that the failure would frequently occur when making a sharp turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on multiple occasions, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Every time we fill the gas tank ... The vehicle will stutter / shake when at idle or die completely at idle like at a stop sign or drive through window.it will restart after about 30 seconds.after it has been driven about 25-40 miles it stops happening.we have paid for total vehicle inspections, we havealso paid $1300 to have every single problem a certified chrysler dealership can find fixed.this did not help the problem at all and the dealership says there is absolutely nothing wrong with the suv. This is the car our son drives and we are very concerned.we are not in a financial position to replace the vehicle and have now emptied our savings to have the vehicle completely serviced, inspected and repaired.

In june 2016 i began having problems with my vehicle shuts off at a stop sign stop light seems like the rpms goes down and the car shut off with no advance warning i have to start the car two or three times in order for to get it to restart took it to the dealer $100 service fee and they didn't find anything wrong with it i've had the spark plugs changed the spark plug wires change the throttle body assembly change and actually i'm kind of getting afraid to drive in the vehicle because i never know when it's going to shut off and i don't want anyone to run in the back of me.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen.while driving 45 mph, the vehicle shut off and all of the instrument panel gauges illuminated.the contact was able to coast the vehicle off the road.the vehicle restarted briefly, but then shut off again twice and would not restart.the police helped him push the vehicle to a parking lot and then it was towed to the dealer.the dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure.the failure mileage was 419 and the current mileage was unknown.*updated 12/12/2007updated 12/12/07

The same happens when the right signal is activated the left activates erroneously.

I just keep having to replace the turning signal module.the turn signal hesitates at times and then the opposite signal will come on or no signal at all.so far there has been no accident but clearly there's a defect in the system for this to keep happening.i'm having the same problem with the emergency signals also, they may or may not come on. Before i have to pay to have this replaced again it would be nice for someone to contact me in regards to this matter.

Severe fuel back splash when filling gas tank.

Every time i fill up my gas tank the gas pump shuts off normally but when i remove the gas nozzle from my tank a huge amount of gas comes spewing out and sprays the side of my truck as well as the gas pump. It sometimes sprays out as much as four feet away. This is a major fire hazard as well as safety hazard for me and anyone pumping gas in there own cars at the pump across from me. I have been to several different gas stations so as to rule out pump malfuctions and it happens every time at every gas station i visit. Seat belt buckles also shattered easily.

After filling fuel tank, when gas pump shuts off, approximately one pint to a quart of gas gushes out of filler tube onto ground.

Everytime i fill up with gas, the gas pump shuts off and then gas comes spraying out of the fuel tank door.

Fuel will spray out of the filler port[not topping off]----this happens every time and should have been a recall issue. Does someone have to die?

There is a safety/environmental problem when filling up the gas tank of our aspen.when filling the gas tank and the gas pump shuts off, gas spurts out all over the person filling the tank, the side of the vehicle and the ground and is a safety and environmental hazard.there was a recall for this problem for the dodge durango's, but i am not able to find one for the aspen.this is a safety and environmental hazard that chrysler should be responsible for repairing.this is an ongoing incident that occurs every time we refill the vehicle.

Gasoline spillage when filling tank.gas does not automatically shut off in time.after it does shut off a huge amount of gas explodes out of the gas tank covering the ground, covering me and my clothes etc. This is a major fire hazard as well as safety hazard for me and anyone pumping gas in there own cars at the pump across from me.

The contact owns 2007 chrysler aspen. While parked and being fueled, the fuel tank overflowed while being filled instead of shutting the pump off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated the fuel tank and gas line need to be replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated that while adding gasoline to her fuel tank the gasoline would spill back out. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor had the vehicle been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.updated 12/14/2011 updated 05/23/11

Every time i fuel up gas overflows spilling onto my vehicle and ground.

Upon filling fuel tank, after the nozzle clicks off, fuel purges back through the fill neck covering everything in the surrounding area, causing a very serious and dangerous condition. It doesn't take much of an imagination to figure out what would happen if an ignition source was nearby. Gas stations are inherently dangerous, but this condition just adds to that danger!we're in the midst of winter here in the ne, so the spilled fuel doesn't seem all that bad, but during the summer in 95 degrees, scary! its just a matter of time before someone is seriously burned or even killed!i have been in the fire service for over 35 years, have seen many different types of fires and this is definitely a condition that should be addressed asap. Called the dealer and they said the vehicle will probably need a fuel tank due to a possible defect in the rollover valve located on top of the tank. One more thought on this problem. With the vapor recovery system in place at stations here in the ny metro area, maybe the epa should also be involved, because the amount of fuel that i have spilled on the ground is probably criminal. Kind of defeats the vapors that were recovered.

2007 chrysler aspen fuel tank overflows at fill up spilling a significant amount of fuel down the vehicle and pooling on the ground.this releases an incredible amount of fuel vapors and presents a large gasoline fire hazard.this happens at every fill up.

While filling up the vehicle at the gas station, the pumps auto-shut off feature would activate and several seconds later, fuel would shoot back out of the vehicle's filler tube.we just bought the vehicle (used) on november 19,2011 and this has happened on two other occasions while fueling the vehicle since that time.after some online investigation, it is obvious that this is a very common problem.not only with this vehicle but with quite a few chrysler vehicles in general.this is an extremely dangerous problem with the amount of fuel that is spilled on the vehicle, on the ground and on myself when attempting to fuel the vehicle.

Less than a month after purchasing vehicle the gas tank would projectile vomit gasoline if filled more than 3/4 full.it was taken back to dealership 3 or 4 times with short term fixes but reverts to doing it again.the gasoline amount is significant all down the side of the vehicle, all over my clothes, and all over the ground.

I have a 2007 chrysler aspen and the gas tank overflows when filling up.this has been ongoing now for about 6 months.i have to stop filling the tank manually before it fills up to avoid the overflow.i checked with chrysler and they stated the entire gas tank needs to be replaced to fix it.the cost of that repair is almost $600 (not cheap).i have read of similar problems other people are having with the aspen as well.and i understand that dodge had a recall on certain vehicles because of the same issue.this is a safety concern for me and my family, but the fix is cost prohibitive.we are beyond the standard warranty period of 3 years/36,000 miles.the truck has never been in an accident and there is absolutely no reason for the tank to start overflowing other than a design defect of some sort with the gas tank.i have never in my life had a vehicle that overflows large amounts of gas from the tank.the overflow is not from the gas pump itself, as that shuts off appropriately.it is as if the gas builds up in the tank and then spits it out.

Chrysler aspen 2007 model gas tank overflows every time i fill up.

Fuel gushes back out when the vehicle is filled.this problem did not appear until the vehicle was about four years old and had 36,000 miles.i have used multiple gas pumps and it is not fuel station related.apparently, chrysler is aware of this as a problem on the aspen and the dodge durango, as well as several jeep models, as there are numerous forums and videos on the internet that show this problem to be widespread.i feel this problem constitutes a fire safety hazard for not only the operator but other service station customers nearby.research indicates that the problem is caused by an inlet check valve failure in the fuel tank.when i spoke to the dealer, they acted as if they had never heard of this problem in any chrysler vehicle, but said it might be happening on the jeep liberty.they refused to order a replacement tank without me bringing the vehicle in and then filling it up with fuel so they could observe the problem.the service rep at the dealer also suggested that after they observed the problem, i should run the tank below half full to facilitate replacement.they said the cost of replacement would be at my expense.

When i was filling my gas tank gas started to dump all over the ground. There is an issue with the tank!

Every time i put fuel into the gas tank it forcefully gushes a large amount of gasoline back out of the tank after i am finished fueling.this causes gasoline to splash back all overthe person filling the vehicle, all over the ground and all over the side of the vehicle.this happens at numerous gas stations, and does not matter how slow or how full i fill the tank.it happens after the pump has stopped filling and is turned off but during the process of removing the nozzle. It does not matter if you wait for the pump to automatically turn off, or if you shut of the fuel pump off before even reaching to full line (no matter how much or little gas i put it, it continues to be an issue).it is just a matter of time before gasoline gets into someone's eyes or causes serious injury to someone in my family, this can not be safe.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. While attempting to add fuel to the vehicle the contact noticed that gasoline would spill onto his clothing. The failure was similar to nhtsa campaign id number:09v003000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly). The dealer advised the contact that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer registered a complaint for the contact and advised him to take the vehicle to a local dealer. The current and failure mileage was 57,000.

Every time i fill up my gas tank the gas pump shuts off normally but when i remove the gas nozzle from my tank a huge amount of gas comes spewing out and sprays the side of my truck as well as the gas pump. It sometimes sprays out as much as four feet away. This is a major fire hazard as well as safety hazard for me, my passengers and anyone pumping gas in there own cars at the pump across from me. I have been to several different gas stations so as to rule out pump malfuctions and it happens every time at every gas station i visit

The car has been gushing gas out out of the filler tube every time it is filled for several months. Then the fuel pump completely failed and had to be replaced on 02/13/12 at a cost of $1137.34. Then on 02/28 the engine light came on requiringan new evaporative emissions sytem ecim switch had to be replaced at a cost of $178.17.the car still gushes gasoline out at every fill up and we are still waiting for a fix from the dealer on this issue.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. She stated that when fueling her vehicle with gasoline she heard a clicking noise and all of the gasoline came back out of the vehicle and leaked all over the ground. The failure occurred every time she filled her vehicle with gasoline. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a problem with the check engine valve and that the whole fuel system needed to be replaced. There have been no repairs done to the vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 86246. Updated 04/01/10. *ljthe dealer replaced the gas tank. Updated 08/18/10.

My vehicle was stationed at a gas station pump as i was pumping fuel and i wanted to fill up the tank, and so i did. But, right before the pump stopped, the gas spit and spilled out of the tank, ran down the side of my vehicle and on to the floor.

When putting gas in after removing the pump gas comes spraying out all over whoever is filling up the vehicle on the side of my vehicle and on the ground this is a safely issue for everyone in the car the vehicle itself and however is filling the car up as well as the gas station that you are filling up at. It happened today and 1 time before that i have had the vehicle less then a month but see its a common issue and spoken about alot online.

Summary:fuel gushed out of the tank and sprayed over the suv and myself at the gas station when i was refueling my vehicle. This seems to be an ongoing safety problem with this make and model that has not been corrected by the manufacturer.the vehicle was parked at the gas station and i was standing next to it. This has happed every time i fill up for the last year.

When filling the fuel tank on this vehicle, it often overflows and dumps gas down the side of the vehicle. There is supposed to be something that prevents this from happening.... Are there any known issues with this valve/ or part?

When pumping gas if i do not stop before tank is full, the pump will stop and when i pull out of tank, gas erupts out of gas cap. It does not leak, it sprays and overflows crazy. For awhile it was not all the time, now it does it consistently and even though i have checked and purchased new gas caps since that what i was told was issue, it still does. Check engine will be on as well as gas cap message in odometer.

I was putting gas in the car and all of a sudden, the gas if shooting back on me. I was on my way to work and had to go home and change because i had gas all over me, the car and the ground. I don't have money to dry clean my clothing. It is also a hazard and i am not pleased at all.

Tsb 14-001-12 fuel splash back. Had my car and they did the repairs. But, its did not fix the problem!!!was told i need a newgas tank. It will cost me, $1,500. Called chrysler corp. And was told they do not pay for the tank??it still is a safety problem with gas spiting out over the car,me,ground.i feel chrysler should repair the problem, not only on the service bulletin but repair the problem......

Every time i fuel up gas overflows spilling onto my vehicle and ground.

On multiple accounts, gas spits out after fueling. This began approximately around dec. 2013 and continues to become more aggravating over time as it continues to do this every time i fill up.

Was refueling car at gas station and after about a gallon or two the gas started spurting back at me.the tank wasn't full, the pump did not stop. This has been an ongoing problem since feb 2014. Purchased car used from dealer. When i called service center , gentleman said there were no recalls on this vehicle. I have read many posts where the very same thing happens on this same make/ model.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated that while refueling, fuel ejected from the vehicle. The contact also stated that the check engine light illuminates intermittently. The vehicle was not taken to a mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Every time i fill up my gas tank the vehicle spits a bunch of gas our onto the ground and all over the side of the vehicle. I have been looking this up and have found that its a very common problem with 2007 aspens. When i called the dealership and told of the problem they stated thats its not a recall item and i have to fix this known issue out of my own pocket

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. When refueling the vehicle, fuel spewed out of the tank. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact mentioned that the fuel cap was previously replaced, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000. Updated 11/04/15*ljanother dealer offered to fix the vehicle free of charge. Updated 01/16/16. The consumer stated the dealer offered to repair the vehicle free of charge.updated 2/1/2016

Every time i fill my fuel tank, approx. One gallon of gasoline shoots back out. I get covered in gasoline, along with the side of the vehicle and ground, causing a very hazardous situation. Any type of spark could cause me to go on fire, as well as the car and fueling station. This needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. How many people need to complain before someone gets injured or killed. I have personally viewed thousands of the same complaint.

The driver's seatbelts buckle will get stuck when trying to unbuckle your seat belt it will not release. When pumping gas at any gas station when the gas pumpshuts off and then it will spray gas out of the fill holeall overthe vehicle and onto the ground no matter if you're pumping fuel slow or fast

Every time i put gas in to my tank (not topping off)fuel gushes back out of the fuel tank and on to the ground after the gas pump shuts off when the tank gets filled more than 3/4 full.it has happened at numerous different gas stations and has happened when i am holding the handle to the gas pump and when the pumps auto shut-off feature is used. Each time that it has happened a large amount of gas has been spilled on the ground, on the side of the vehicle, on my shoes. On numerous occasions the gas station attendant has had to block off the gas pump and come over and clean up the spill. Each time it has happened the vehicle has been stationary and not running.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the gear shifter was stuck in one position. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

The aspen lurched backwards approximately fifty feet at a very high rate of speed, just after being put into reverse.it was stopped when it crashed into a garage and a toyota prius.the prius was totaled, the aspen severely damaged, the garage doors were yanked out of the ceiling and shattered, and other parts of the garage were damaged.anyone who would have been behind the vehicle at the time would have been severely injured or killed.for approximately three weeks prior to this incident, there was an intermittent problem with the reverse transmission.occasionally when placed into reverse, the car would only go a short distance in reverse, as if the clutch was not catching.the engine would rev up, and then the car would come to an abrupt halt.the halt was very abrupt and "mechanical" as if something was being caught - the first time this happened a passenger in the car thought the car struck something in reverse.there were never any issues with the transmission going forward, and this reverse issue only happened about 10% of the times the car was put in reverse.in between the car was fine in reverse.this never seemed like a safety issue because the car stopped abruptly when going backwards in previous instances - it did not go backwards uncontrollably as occurred in the incident.a chrysler investigator came out the day following this incident.he concluded that the driver of the car accidentally put her foot on the gas pedal rather than brake.we are quite certain this is not what happened.in spite of emphasizing that there was a problem with the vehicle reverse, chrysler told the owners on 4/4/11 that this was a driver error based on their evaluation.however, they never even looked at the transmission.we now have the vehicle in storage and are trying to get an independent evaluation of the problem.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated that when the vehicle was stationary or being driven at various speeds, the vehicle independently switched to 4 wheel drive. The 4 wheel drive red light flashed during the failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer to be diagnosed. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

2007 chrysler aspen (with only 4000 miles) began making a loud grinding noise when switching from drive, neutral, reverse, etc. I took the vehicle in to the dealership on a tuesday afternoon.after a 1 1/2 hour wait the service representative advises me that they took a look at the vehicle and it is making a loud unusual noise when the vehicle is placed in gear. The service representative advises me thati need to bring the vehicle back later in the week and leave it with them - because they are going to have to take it apart to find out what the problem is. I return on thursday morning drop off the vehicle at 7:30 am and at about 3:31pm the service representative calls me and advises me that the vehicle has been repaired - they adjusted the "slack adjuster" and tightened some of the bolts on the shaft and put it back together. When i arrive at the dealership to pick up my vehicle, the service order stated that they tested 2 other vehicles (the same make, year, and model) and that all the vehicles make the same noise - no repairs needed.either the service representative told me a story or the technician is telling a story. I was very much concerned when i read the service order. The question is what was done to the vehicle? what was wrong with it? of course i had to speak to another service representative because the one that i was dealing with had left for the day and so had the service manager. When i advise the service representative of what i had been told and what the service order stated.he apologized and stated there was nothing he could do, because he had not handled the service order. He stated unfortunately they had, several customer complaints about the loud unusual noise and that chrysler had been notified, but at the present moment chrysler had no resolution on how to fix the problem and until they came up with a resolution there was nothing they could do. I drove the vehicle home and it still made the same noise ? nothing was repaired.

Driver's seat belt is very difficult to unfasten and is getting worse.this is the first occurrence with this seat belt, but the right second row seat belt had a similar problem in the first year of ownership.it is my concern that the driver may become trapped inside the vehicle, especially in the event of an emergency.

A warning indicaterwill sound sometimes when the driver side seatbelt when has been lockes into place (fastened). I have to lock and unlock the seatbelt to shutdown the indicater. Also the passanger seatbelt will not release once locked, however it takes several minuets to get it to release.

In the 2007 chrysler apsen, the third row, center seat, safety belt does not have a common buckle that can be released with the push of a button.it has a buckle that requires an object (the user manual recommends the ignition key) be inserted into a slot on the buckle to release the latch.this is a safety hazard.in the event of a car fire, flooding, stalling on a railroad track or any other potentially dangerous event, a person sitting in this seat cannot unlatch their buckle without a tool.a child would be trapped and possible die if an adult is unable to climb into the back of the vehicle and, possibly in a panicked state, unlatch the seatbelt.my vehicle contains a dvd player for long trips. The rear, center seat is directly in line with the player and has the best view.since the dvd players in vehicles are usually purchased for the benefit of children, it seems unbelievable that the best seat in the vehicle for viewing is a seat children would not be safe in.how many parents actually let their children sit there thinking that nothing will happen?i consider this an unusable seat.it is potentially very dangerous.

-the contact's vehicle was involved inrear end crash. The contact's vehiclestopped when the crash occurred,. During the crash the front passenger seat back which was unoccupied failed.the contact stated that the seat collapsed to a 60 degree angle from the vertical, and the only thing that stopped it from going all the way bac,k was the child seat behind it. The vehicle was currently at the body shop where it was being fixed.updated 03/07/07

My brake light comes on at least twice a week for no reason while driving.it will stay on and then go off at different times. The dealer said they could not find anything wrong and i even took a picture of it happening while going 70mph.the dealer said unless it happens with them in the vehicle they cannot find the issue.this has been a problem for my daughter and brothers chrysler as well.i have researched it on the internet and there a lot of people having a problem with the brake light just coming on for no reason and the dealer stating nothing is wrong.i believe the chrysler vehicles need to be recalled and problem to be determined and fixed. With a brake light coming on this could be a safety hazard and could lead to major accidents if the brakes for some reason does not operate.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. While driving approximately 5 mph, the contact drove over a puddle of water and the steering became difficult to maneuver. After stopping the vehicle briefly the steering function reset independently. The failure recurred four times. The contact, who was a certified mechanic, was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was neither repaired nor taken to an authorized dealer for inspection or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.

Everytime driving on freeway and going 50mph or more, there is no control in steering column and a feeling of fear while having no control on road.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated that when driving at various speeds, the vehicle would jerk toward the right without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the right steering knuckle was cracked. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 06v386000 (steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Rounding corner when steering completely locked up; not allowing me to turn vehicle to make curve.ran through field into electrical box.almost ran in to house.fortunately, my significant other is an experienced driver and was able to react quickly to ensure his safety.however, this vehicle was bought for my 15 year old son to drive when he gets his license.luckily, he was not driving the car as he would not have had the experience to handle this accident without fatally injuring himself and/or others.i found a recall notice on these vehicles after the accident; when i called i was told that our vehicle is not covered under recall (actually, no recall at all - what?).the engine sounds loud and whiny (fan sounding) and the running board was partially broken off, as well as a small dent in the passenger door (driver's side).chrysler is not helping at all - refusing to acknowledge the problem.where do i turn?

Very scary when it does happen. We have had the front end checked and then tell us there's no problem. It doesn't happen unless your driving over 40 mph and when your driving 65 on the highway, it's going to get someone killed one day. There's not a specific day, since it happens every time you drive it and hit a hole or bump in the road. We have owned it since it was new and always had the problem. We are also having a problem with the air conditioning, we have installed 3 compresses, dryers it will not cool this last time it was in the shop 8 days. They must have installed and removed every part that would cause it not to cool, still blows hot air and it's already 95+ degrees outside. My elderly mother drives this aspen and it use to be a great car, but once they break you might as well buy something new. It's no wonder they only make the aspen 3 years. In the last year i noticed the car is getting more bouncy.when driving on the city streets, if i hit a pock hole or bump it shifts the car over and it is worse on the freeway.going over the bumps bounces the car up and over!!this is not safe especially on the freeway or any road, which could cause the car to shift into the next lane.my son in-law even noticed this when he drove it!! the suspension feels too loose!!what can be done about this?this is not safe!! there is nothing in the car manual!!!

1. No failure has occurred, but it feels very dangerous to drive.2. Description: the suspension is too soft and bouncy. The front end feels like it skips across the road if you hit a bad spot in the pavement; just normal bumps. Doesn't matter what speed, but if you are on the interstate, it feels incredible dangerous. Cannot feel the road whatsoever. Too many "large" blind spots. I won't let my children drive this car, b/c i don't feel it is safe too drive.3. I have contacted chrysler many times about this issue and vibration issue. They basically say that there is nothing wrong.

My compliant is specific to the tpms tire pressure monitoring system installed by chrysler. When trying to fill my tires the threads on the tpms sensor separated from the stem leaving me unable to add air to the tire.the repair required the replacement of the sensor. In speaking with the tire repair shop they indicated the chrysler sensors use a white metal thread section which commonly fails in cold climates.the separation of the threads led to additional pressure loss and could potentially fail under normal driving conditions.

Worst and most dangerous vehicle ever.

My vehicle got stuck in gear and couldnt shift it back into park .had to call a tow truck to tow it cause i turned it off with the key and it still would shift into park.i had to wait till monday the 27 of june to callthe mechanic and he towed it to his shop.he called me today and said it was the gear shift and transmission that were no good or messed up.this happend on saturday june 25 and i was pulling out of some offices that i clean in round rock texas 1970 rawhide.the firefighters acrss the street had to help my husband push it to the side of the street because we were on a slop and my car had roled back and almost hit some mail boxes.

It's a tracker on my truck and the dealership isn't using it properly. If my car payment is late then yes, i know it's supposed to shut down, but if i'm making a payment on time then why it keeps shutting off in the middle of nowhere. Been late for work, school, and picking up my 5 year old from school. By the way she is going to be stranded as we speak. Made my payment on 9/18/17 now it's off today. Made my payment last wednesday, and i had to call them thursday because it was off. Last week they turned it back on after i told them i'm making a complaint with them, now they don't know what the problem is today. It's the same thing from last week. The guy turned it on last week but he seems to not know the problem this week. I can't keep affording to miss out on school and work, and for surly can't keep my daughter from getting to and from school. I asked him to turn it on today and he says it's not them everything is brand new in my transmission/motor and my battery works just like last time. This is the fourth incident this month. He also told me he can see what the problem is, but i will have to pay for the tow. I am a loyal customer that got a car from them last year. This is not my fault they put a tracker on my car that keeps shutting off. Please help me!!!!

I own a 2007 chrysler aspen with 1500 miles on this vehicle. I turned off the main highway on to a secondary road, when then accelerator was pushed the engine shuttered briefly then accelerated to a high speed on it's own. I pushed the brake pedal down very hard and it would not stop the vehicle,i had to place the transmission into neutral and switch the ignition off to stop the car. Luckily i was not at the school yard were i had just picked my child up.i called a tow truck to pick my car up and carry to the dealership as i was too scared to try and drive it again.the dealer said they would check out the problem and would have. To contact chrysler to see what could have caused the problem and that a mechanic would drive it to see if they could recreate the problem. The car is still at the dealership with no response to what the problem might be.this is a very serious safety hazard that could have injured someone and needs to be investigated to prevent future incidents!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph during rainy weather, the dash gauges and sensor lights suddenly began to flicker off and on and the vehicle began to lose power. The contact discovered that the failure was caused by water that had leaked from the sun roof and roof panel into the driver side door pillar and onto the electrical panel fuse box. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000...09/29/14 the consumer stated the problem is ongoing. I was driving down the freeway near a military base and there weren't any vehicles close to me. A f16 jet flew over the freeway and the next thing i know, there was a loud explosion. My sunroof glass exploded out. Some glass came in afterwards and fell on me and my son. I was doing 65 mph at the time. The glass window was closed, but the inside window cover was open so we could see out. I drove it to the chrysler dealer in poway, ca. They looked at it and told me a rock had broke it. I don't know how they came to that conclusion since there were no cars around me at the time and no rock was found.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen. The contact stated while the vehicle was being serviced, for new tires there was rust and corrosion underneath the wheel well. As a result the rust, the rims on the vehicle were cracked. The failure was not reported to the dealer, for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 55,000, and the current mileage was 71,000.
