The clock spring is broken.chrysler doesn't have the part and claim it is not a safety issue.i think anything involving the inflation of the airbag is a safety issue.

Still waiting on the letter from chrysler about the recall...called the dealer today and they will not give me a loaner car and they want to keep my car all day. The driver airbag inflator housing may rupture, due to excessive internal pressure, during normal airbag deployment events. This condition is more likely to occur if the vehicle has been exposed to high levels of absolute humidity for extended periods of time. An inflator rupture, during airbag deployment events, could result in metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupant(s).
Takata recallhave waited for a year for parts to replace my defective drivers airbag.dealer has no idea when they might get them

Under normal driving the esp/bas, and traction control warning lights chime and illuminate.chrysler dealer has diagnosed that there is a short in the clockspring, and advised me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive as i could lose control of the vehicle, and/or the air bags may not deploy in the event of an accident. I had clockspring replaced, and yes i do have the old part that is defective.

Air bags did not deploy in a head on crash at 65 mph with a deer.
Turn signals function intermittently when activated. Right signal seems to work okay when activated butright signal light also comes on when stalk is pushed down to indicate a left turn. Trying to indicate a left turn can also result in no signal light at all. This can confuse other drivers and has resulted in several near misses on lane changes and at intersections when turning left. Seems to be affected by cold temperatures and at the present time goes away after car is warmed for 15-20 minutes. Chrysler forums have indicated this to be a problem on aspens. No recalls issued yet.
The svc 4wd indicator light won't go off and the vehicle is stuck in 4x4
Turn signal stops and even blinks in the opposite direction.
Dash is still illuminated, radio turns on by itself and can't lock doors with the car turn to off position and key out of ignition. Car door continues dinging noise as if key is in position. Drains the battery. When you give the battery a charge the car will cut off while driving because battery is too weak. We replaced the battery 3 times in one year. Chrysler dealer cannot find the issue. They state the aspen is known to have drain batteries quickly. You can drive over a small bump or pot hole and car will jump across the road. Placed brand new tires and car is aligned perfectly but still makes the car jump. At highway speeds the car will move to another person's driving lane on dual highway when hitting a bump. This is not safe for anyone and scares my family. One day, if we hit a bump, i might side swipe/crash into a passing car or rollover off the road.
My turn signals are malfunctioning in my 2007 chrysler aspen .when i hit it to left, many times it will automatically start blinking right.many times when it is blinking left, it will change and just start blinking right with no touching anything.many times when i have it blinking left or right, it will stop blinking and not do anything at all.i would say 80% or more of the times it does one of these 3 things.
When using the left blinker the right blinker will intermittently start blinking.i am concerned this could cause an accident.it will happen while in motion and sometimes when stopped.
I was driving in the middle of winter, i started to smell something burning i rolled the windows down to check if it was my truck, smoke was coming from the back seat. I pulled over and opened the back door and saw my back seat burning. Had to put water and leave the windows down for a couple days, it's so horrible to think that my son usually sits there and could of gotten burned. I got this truck because i have 4 children and i drive to their activities every day.

Gas will spew from the tank when filling the tank. The pump shuts off correctly but gas comes rushing out, even if not completely filled.

Every time i fill up my gas tank the gas pump shuts off normally but when i remove the gas nozzle from my tank a huge amount of gas comes spewing out and sprays the side of my truck as well as the gas pump.it sometimes sprays out as much as four feet away.this is a major fire hazard as well as safety hazard for me and anyone pumping gas in there own cars at the pump across from me.i have been to several different gas stations so as to rule out pump malfunctions and it happens every time at every gas station i visit.
2007 chrysler aspen overflows at the gas pump everytime. This creates a very big safety hazard at the pump.
2007 chrysler aspen gas tank overflows whenever itry to fill itup. . the pump shuts off , but then gas overflows out.i do not top off it just happens with the first shutoff of the gas pump.gas bubbles out all over truck and ground (and shoes if within reach).this happens 9 out of 10 times if i try to fill it.if i only put in 16-17 gallons we are fine (26 gallon tank).nothing has been done said they tested it and it is fine.have seen other posts on the chrysler forums where other people are having the same issue.
For past 3 months fuel overflows from filler neck on 2007 aspen, after pump shuts off.this been happening 100% of the time at any gas station.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. The contact stated that whenever dispensing fuel into the fuel tank to the full capacity, fuel would spew out of the filler neck and onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they informed the contact that there was a faulty check valve that would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
In filling the gas tank, as soon as the pump stops a considerable amount of gas comes shooting out of the tank. This even happens if i finish the final few gallons at a very slow pace of gas. This has happened on the last three fill ups and also happened a few times some months ago.
When filling my 2007 chrysler aspen i just bought 3/12/11 up with gas,the gas pump shuts off as it should when tank is full, then all of a sudden gas comes pouring back out. Tried three different gas stations still same result. Potential fire hazard and or explosion.
Fuel overflows from gas tank on 2007 chrysler aspen, after station pump auto shuts off.this occurs 100% of the time at any gas station.problem is not yet corrected, appointment with dealer this weekend.this has occurred for roughly the past 2-3 months.
2007 chrysler aspen spills gas when filling tank.i have tried stopping the pump before it shuts itself off automatically, but gas still pours down the side of the vehicle and/or shoots back at me.this has now happened five times in a row at different gas stations.this is incredibly dangerous. *ln
Every time i fill my gas tank on my 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4 a large amount of fuel shoots out of the tank when full, soaking any and everything within 2 feet of the vehicle with gasoline.
An excessive amount of gas spills our of the filler neck when refueling the vehicle.
Just purchased a used 2007 chrysler aspen.when fueling to fill, gas pump shuts off, then large amount of gas overflows out, splashing skin, clothing, gas cap and pavement.additional gas goes on hand when closing gas cap.seems like this is a fire hazard, not to mention environmental hazard.not "topping off", just allowing pump to shut off, which it does.the gas only overflows out after the pump shuts off.this has happened at multiple stations and was extra careful not to put the nozzle in too far.have seen lots of complaints about this here.why is there no official recall?
Just purchased this vehicle used and at first fuel fill-up gas spewed out of tank at end of fill-up.i did not top off, and i was holding gas lever myself. As it shut off, a ton of fuel shot out of the tank all over me. I've read this is a common problem with this vehicle.why is this not a recall?
When filling with gas, it doesn't stop when it gets full, and gets gas all over me and the vehicle. I have heard many other people who own this vehicle have the same problem, but fiat won't do anything about when people complain....updated 09/28/15 updated 10/13/15.
Everytime i feel up the gas tank it spews out gas all over the place. I have a 2007 aspen chyrsler.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. The contact stated that while refueling, the filler tube inlet check valve failed, causing fuel to be projected onto the vehicle and the contact. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. ..updated 01/30/13updated 2/4/2013
Purchased 2007 chrysler aspen at a local dealer in jan , have had vehicle 3 weeks and now in shop due to gasoline spillage when filling tank. All 3 times filled the tank gas splashed back all over my clothes and all over the ground. Now the dealership is making me pay for a gas tank.when i purchased the vehicle ,i purchased over $3000 of warrantiesand was told the vehicle was covered from front to back and top to bottom andnow i am informed the tank is not covered .the tanks will cost me $800.00and i don't think i shouldhave to pay for this when itwas a default . It looks like there has been many complaints for this happening and they should have been aware of this. This is probably one of the reasons the previous owners turned the vehicle back in for a trade.i was told i could if i didnotwant to payfor the tank , i could consider never toppingoff the gas tank, yeah right!i have not had to make my first payment yet on the vehicle until feb 22,2011. I really think i have been given a dirty deal.
I own a 2007 chrysler aspen 4wd ltd. I am experiencing the following problem: gas overflowing from the tank during a fill-up. I first noticed this problem in january 2011 while fillup the tank afterwork. At first i thought there was a problem with the automatic shutoff valve @ the pump i was using or that i was doing something wrong @ the pump)like forcing a fuel top-off); but approx 1 wk later the same thing occurred but @ a different gas station. This is a very dangerous situation. The unknown affects of direct contact on the skin & the potential for being burnt. On 2/15/11, i was filling up gas @ the hess station & a significant amount of gas was expelled from the tank getting all over my hand, and jacket sleeve, the latest incident occurred yesterday (3/13/11). After yesterday's incident i decided to do some investigating on the internet & learned that i am not the only chrysler aspen / dodge durango owner with this problem. I plan to contact the dealership i purchased the car from tomorrow (3/15/11) now that i know what the problem is.
Fuel spills out all over during fillup no matter what gas station or how you try to fill it. Pump shut off kicks in but gas still pours out all over the place. It's difficult to even try to stop fueling before the tank fills up. Have tried slowing down the rate of delivery, changing angle of pump. Nothing prevents this. This is a chrysler problem, not consumer negligence. What's most shocking is that this has been a problem on durango's and aspen's (similar vehicle) for years and chrysler still hasn't fixed it. There are posts all over the internet on this.it is a significant safety issue, especially during a rollover (which i have been in once in the past). We have are a family of six and it makes me sick to think my family's safety is in jeopardy with this vehicle. Come on chrysler -this is nearly a $50,000 vehicle brand new. Stand up and take ownership for your mistake and quit blaming everyone else like fuel manufactures for ethanol etc. Ethanol was in fuel long before this vehicle and fuel system were manufactured. You most likely have a bad supplier - make them pay for it instead of those who are future vehicle buyers.
Fuel overflows from gas tank on 2007 chrysler aspen, after station pump auto shuts off. This occurs 100% of the time at any gas station. This has occurred for roughly the past 2 months.
When filling up my vehicle, gas will spill out of the gas tank (approximately 1/8 gallon).my interior will fill up with gas fumes. This problem is ongoing and happens everytime that i fill up, regardless of how much gas is in my tank before fill up.
Fuel spills from filler tube every time vehicle is topped off.happens when tank is filled and pump automatically shuts off.this is a very dangerous hazard.has happened for last three months.
2007 chrysler aspen spills gas out at every fill up, unless i stop the nozzle in time.it shoots about 1/2 a gallon of gas back at me.chrysler wants me to pay $800 for a new tank.has been doing this for 3-4 months starting around november.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4.the contact stated that fuel would spit back onto the contact when refueling the vehicle.the dealer and manufacturer were notified, but denied any assistance with repairs to the failure.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was unavailable and the current mileage was 60,500.
I own a 2007 chrysler aspen that i can no longer fill the gas tank without fuel splashing out of the fill pipe near the end of filling.i started the complaint in dec, 2009 when i took it to the dealer.they replaced the rollover valve after keeping it overnight.i don't drive it around locally very often so the car sits in the garage a lot between highway trips.several months later while on a trip, the same thing happened again.i've asked the dealer about it but get blank look as though they've never heard of that kind of a problem before.apparently, after googling the problem, many people are having the same problem.it seems dangerous to me (after it splashed on me the first time it did it).since then, i've learned to stand clear or cut off the fueling short of a fill.
Due to a defective valve in gas tank that is supposed to keep tank from exploding during rollovers, approximately 1/2 gallon of gas gushes out of vehicle during fill up which goes down vehicle and all over person fueling.this is a 2007 chrysler aspen.very dangerous and could cause potential harm or even death.
Fuel spills out of gas tank when fill up gas tank and pump shuts down. Dealer replaced parts four times. Now the pump shuts down on max, can fill up gas tank only when selecting lower position of pump but it does not spill out anymore.
When i put fuel into the gas tanka large amount of gasoline gushes back out of the tank after i am finished fueling. This causes gasoline to splash back all over the person filling the vehicle, the ground and over the side of the vehicle. This happens at different gas stations, and does not matter how slow or how fast i fill the tank. It happens after the pump has stopped filling and is turned off and removing the nozzle. It does not matter ifthe pumpautomatically turn off, or if you shut of the fuel pump.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. The contact stated that whenever refueling, gasoline fuel would spray out of the filler neck haphazardly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who advised that the failure was contributed to the fuel tank inlet valve. The vehicle was scheduled for repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000. The vin was unavailable.
Fuel gushed out of the tank and sprayed over the suv and myself at the gas station when i was refueling my vehicle. This seems to be an ongoing safety problem with this make and model that has not been corrected by the manufacturer.
Fuel over fills out of the filler when filling up vehicle was parked at gas pump turned off and overfills everytime filled up
While pumping gas into the vehicle, it never cut off and sprayed gasoline all over the vehicle as well as myself. It started feb 2015 and has happened every time i have pumped gas into the vehicle since then.
Every time i fill this fuel tank, it spills back out when the auto cutoff engages. It even spilled back while doing it by hand! can anyone say static ignition? i am also replacing a fuel pump for the second time!.
Gas 'spits out' when filling. Very dangerous, gas will shoot out over a foot. Took it to chrysler dealer for recall 'tsb 14-001-12', did not fix the problem. Returned the car 3 days later and charged $100.00. Was told i need a new gas tank and i have to pay for it!!!why doesn't this recall pay for it??? it's diffently a safey problem???
I purchased this vehicle in august 2010.it is a 2007 chrysler aspen.i had it just a few months and i was having issues with the steering.i am good driver and drove to work each day without issue. I went to my local mechanic and he advised the tie rod needed to be replaced.he has been in business for years and noted how odd it is that a newer vehicle would need a tie rod replacement.he had never seen this before.it cost over $500 to get it replaced.he said had i driven it just a few more days the whole front would have broken causing an accident.i also had an issue in 2012 with a emission sensor and my gas tank.
Starting at around 85,000 miles or so during filling of the gas tank, just before the fuel handle shut off engages, an enormous amount of fuel literally gushes back from the fuel tank, soaking the person filling the vehicle and the ground with what appears to be between a half gallon to a gallon of fuel. We have tried many different gas stations, manually filling up the tank, and even not completely filling up the tank all with the same result - alot of gas dumping back out onto people, the truck, and the ground. Given that gasoline is extremely flammable, and that it has been proven that sparks from static electricity and cell phones can easily ignite vapors, this is a very dangerous situation. Many people complain of the same issue with many chrysler products (jeep, durango, and aspen, mainly), and chrysler has instituted a recall on very very limited vehicles for this problem. I believe that all of the 2007 aspens and durangos, and possibly even more vehicles, should be recalled to fix this problem. The only way to fix the issue is to replace the entire gas tank, which is cost prohibitive for many people. I am surprised that there hasn't been any serious fires and/or fatalities due to this issue. Do we really need to wait for someone to be seriously hurt or die before taking action? no other car manufacturers seem to be having this problem with as much regularity as chrysler has. Given the tragic events that have unfolded over the past several days the last thing i want to hear about or experience is more children killed or seriously injured from a well known and documented problem. Please take a very serious look into this, and since i am lucky enough to have the ability to pay for a new gas tank i would be more than happy to give you the old one to verify the issue. Please take action before its too late!
As with many others, i too have had the problem with gas spitting out of the tank when fueling my 2007 chrysler aspen.this has occurred repeatedly over the past year and a half no matter what precautions i have tried (stopping repeatedly, adjusting the position of the nozzel, etc..).it's dangerous, harmful to skin/clothing/shoes, costly and downright embarrassing. After reading on the internet how common of an issue this is, i cannot believe that chrysler has not stood up and taken action on this - obviously they are not looking to build brand loyalty!
While fueling up the car, the fill neck spits back fuel
Power steering lines touch the drive train. I lost steering control while driving 70 miles an hour. The high side pressure line blew out.
When refueling the pump shuts off when it is full, but at least a gallon of gasoline sprays out all over the ground and auto.the pump clicks off when it is full, but then the gasoline starts pouring out.
While filling up the tank, the nozzle shut off but the fuel (2 cups) violently flowed out of the filler tube towards me.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. The contact stated that it took approximately 20 minutes to fill up her fuel tank due to an inconsistent flow of fuel. The contact attempted to place fuel in her vehicle at several different stations and experienced the same failure each time. Century dodge chrysler jeep ram (13500 veterans memorial pkwy in wentzville, mo 63385) was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacture was aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.
Vehicle has been overflowing gas at the end of fillup. The pump shuts off as it should, but then gas overflows out. We are not topping off - this happens with the first shutoff of the gas pump. This at first happen periodically, but now happens every time, no matter where i am filling up. I am not over filling the vehicle by any means, in fact i can slow the pump down to a dribble and it will still "burp" out fuel all over the side of the vehicle and leaving a large puddle of gas on the ground. This is a huge safety issue and needs to be delt with by chrysler. I have talked to others personally that have the same issue and have read that many many others are having this same issue.
While refueling fuel will discharge out of filler tube when tank gets near full, this will happen if the auto shut off is used or if it is operated manually. The fuel will spray up to 3' away from vehicle and cover anything in general area. This happens every time vehicle is refueled.
Gas will spew from the tank when filling the tank. The pump shuts off correctly but gas comes rushing out, even if not completely filled.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. While the contact was adding fuel to the vehicle, it spewed out without warning. The vehicle was taken to tate dodge chrysler jeep (7429 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, md 21061, (888) 864-6650) where it was diagnosed that the rollover valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 107,000.
Whenever i fill the gas, once the pump stops and the tank is full about 1/2 gallon of gas comes back up and out of the fill hole. Spilling down the side of the vehicle and out onto the ground.this appears to be a regular problem with these. They did a recall on the jeep with the same problem.
The svc 4wd indicator light won't go off and the vehicle is stuck in 4x4
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. While driving, the vehicle switched to 4-wheel drive automatically. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (autonation chrysler dodge jeep ram roseville, 200 automall dr., roseville, ca 95661), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. The contact stated that the wheels randomly locked and the traction control warning indicator randomly flashed. As a result, the power steering was extremely affected and the steering wheel was difficult to maneuver as the front and rear wheels locked up. In addition, the four wheel drive indicator randomly flashed and the gears independently shifted at a low rate of speed. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed by a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was also included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 147,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Failing lifters and camshaft which is happening to over 5000 separate owners across the united states.the lifters and camshaft fail no matter how well you keep up your maintenance.i had the cam and lifters replaced twice once at 98000 miles by chrysler and now i need them replaced again at 195000 miles which very common with owners of this engine
Vehicle randomly shifts from awd to 4 lock or 4 low. Usually at low speeds. Transfer case may also shift to neutral. When backing or turning sharply, as in parking, is the most likely time of occurrence. Transfer case also shifts when using the key fob to lock/unlock doors while vehicle is off and parked. I have almost been hit after backing out of a parking space and was unable to get to traffic speed due to random shift to low range. Vehicle has also shifted to neutral after parking, causing it to roll on slightly inclined driveway, nearly dragging me and/or striking my children who were in the driveway.
I have only had my truck for a year and four months. There has been at least 4 times in the last 2 months when i put my truck into reverse the transmission defaults to neutral and the box around the "r" would disappear. The other day i was putting my truck in the garage and i put the truck in reverse, i looked back and took my foot off the brake and pressed the gas pedal, being that my driveway is on a slope my truck started coasting down the hill fast.i turned around to put my foot on the brake and just in time from hitting my husband. My heart fell to my stomach.i asked him to look at the dashboard so he could see that the truck was in reverse.the box that outlines the letters to show which gear you're in was around the letter "r" for reverse this time.
The transmission slips out of gears (from park to reverse, reverse to neutral, etc.).
Every time i fill up my gas tank the gas pump shuts off normally but when i remove the gas nozzle from my tank a huge amount of gas comes spewing out and sprays the side of my truck as well as the gas pump. It sometimes sprays out as much as four feet away. This is a major fire hazard as well as safety hazard for me and anyone pumping gas in there own cars at the pump across from me. I have been to several different gas stations so as to rule out pump malfunctions and it happens every time at every gas station i visit. Seat belt buckles also shattered easily.
1. I purchased a new chrysler aspen in 2007. 2. I tried to install a child seat in the middle row right window seat. During my effort to safely tighten the seat a plastic portion on the buckle cracked. The cracked portion of the seatbelt is what prevents the belt from giving slack when a child seat is installed. There now was nothing from preventing the child seat from moving prior to an accident.i took the vehicle to the dealer and had the seatbelt assembly replaced.several months later i noticed the replacement part cracked again not aware of how it occurred.the belt was now being utilized as a booster and did not have to be manually tightened.now a few days ago after the birth of a new child my rear right seatbelt also broke. The same plastic part failed during installation of another car seat under my pulling tightening pressure which would be far less than stress from the inertia of an accident.i took my car to the dealer and had two new seatbelts ordered.after a few hours i realized the problem was most likely part design and poor material choice as opposed to a faulty part.at this point i am not able to take all my kids with me in the vehicle because even the belts that have not broken yet are not safe.i asked chrysler to buy the vehicle back due to these dangers but their legal department refuses because even though i have had three failures i only generated two reports.it's doesn't qualify for the lemon law because i waited for two belts to break before taking it in. Chrysler is also refusing to look in to the matter of this part being unsafe on all their 2007 chrysler models.the legal representative i spoke to didn't seem to care that the lives of my children and other children could be in jeopardy.now i am stuck because it does no good to replaced belts with more faulty belts.i have a 3 year old, a 19 month old and a 1 week old baby that i can't even take to the doctor because this is my only vehicle.
My 2007 aspen 4x4 now has 35,000 miles on it.recently the brake light indicator on the dash panel has come on after starting the car and driving between 1 and 10 miles distance.when the car is turned off and then restarted, the light goes out.this is repeatable everytime the car is started.also, since this condition began, the brake has 1. Refused to disengage after applying the brake (one time occurrence); 2. Suddenly become extremely resistive when breaking.this is an intermittent condition that has happened now 3 times.when applying the brake the pedal does not incrementally depress but barely moves downwards at all.because this condition is intermittent there is little time to react and press down on the pedal sufficiently to slow the vehicle before reaching a stoplight or other vehicle or object.(i had a near accident today while returning the vehicle to the shop a second time for repair.)the chrysler dealer in my area first inspected my braking system and told me that the brakes were fine and that the master cylinder just needed to be topped off.the dealer has just called me back (the car is there now) to say that they could find nothing wrong.i've told them that i cannot except that answer and they replied that they will contact the manufacturers rep for further technical assistance...
I was pulling into a parking lot w/ my 2007 chyrsler aspenmade a right hand turn and the car proceeded straight and struck another vehicles side. I experienced a loss of steering during a right hand turn.there was a trail of power steering fluid from the point of steering loss to the point of impact of other vehicle. Afterwards both wheels were pointed inward and the vehicle was not drivable. There is a recall on certain aspens w/ this same problem but not mine.i am seeking payment for damages done to my vehicle. My dealership paid for the steering to be fixed but not damages.thank you joe....
I had to have the right tie rod replaced. Car vibrated at speeds of 65 to 70 mph. Was told by the dealership that the part looked to be defective.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel suddenly loosened and became difficult to keep sturdy. The dealer diagnosed that the right steering knuckle failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 06v386000 (steering); however, the vin was not included in the recall. The vin was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
My wife was driving her 2007 chrysler aspen in parsipanny, nj. She was merging from 287s onto 80w and traveling about 35mph.as she was merging onto 80w the driver's side ball joint on the steering linkage completely failed resulting in a total loss of control.she managed to limp car to side of road and called myself and aaa to have car brought to dealer for service. This is a very serious defect. The car has approximately 64k miles on it and has been regularly serviced.she is 7 months pregnant and we have a 3.5 year old son.this could have been a very serious accident under different circumstances, traffic conditions, and/or speedwe are waiting to hear dealers/manufacturers response and solution..
Power steering hose blew out! it is routed to close to a pully. I replaced it with a marine grade hose from home depot just to get home safely. I then brought it into the dealer and was told, "there are thousands of these cars on the road with no problem like this. Bad luck for you i guess" .
The clock spring is broken.chrysler doesn't have the part and claim it is not a safety issue.i think anything involving the inflation of the airbag is a safety issue.
There is a recall on the right steering knuckle on my type of vehicle, including same year, make and model. I did not ever get a recall notice, but was involved in a crash where the right steering knuckle broke and caused significant other damage to my vehicle. The vehicle was not safe to drive, so i was forced to file a claim with my insurance to have it fixed. I had to pay a large deductible and was faulted for the accident. What can i do to get reimbursed for this since there is a recall on that part of the vehicle?
Power steering lines touch the drive train. I lost steering control while driving 70 miles an hour. The high side pressure line blew out.
This complaint involves the front suspension system of the 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4.while driving at highway speeds any bumps encountered on the road surface will result in a sudden shift of direction, or "jumping" of the front end of the vehicle.this can possibly send the driver into another lane of traffic.i have had this happen many times over the last couple of years of ownership of the vehicle.as an owner of several other fca vehicles (including, jeep grand cherokee and a jeep commander) i find this very disturbing that nhtsa has not investigated this problem as it has been reported on several of the chrysler forums.no vehicle should have the front end "jump" and have the driver suddenly going in a different direction than intended, this is a deadly safety concern.but has not been addressed either by fca or by nhtsa, this may require the use of an attorney and a lawsuit before this gets resolved as it seems to be a small majority of people that are reporting this issue.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x4.the contact stated that the rims were bent on the passenger side of the vehicle and were replaced.he stated that he is aware of the major lawsuit that was placed on the manufacturer pertaining to the rims.the dealer stated that this was a result of a user error and that the contact must have struck a pothole or driven off the road.the contact denies those accusations.the dealer also stated that the rims are more for show than for actual use.the current and failure mileages were 4,000.
