Takata recall passenger airbag.. This recall notice was published in july 2016, it has not been complied with and no solution is forthcoming in the near future. The vehicle should be purchased by chrysler so my family is not subject to injury or death in the case of an accident. Chrysler was required to do so on certain production runs of this same vehicle because of faulty suspension parts. My vehicle experienced the same suspension problem but, for some reason, was not included in the repurchase.

The car was idling while waiting to follow another vehicle. The car was then put into drive, at which point all electrical function ceased with the exception of the radio, which would not shut off. The engine also stopped running. Fortunately was able to get the car started again. I believe this is related to the recall action initiated for defective ignition switch. In september, i had stopped for gas and when i got back in the car to start it, the ignition switch would not move, as though i had an incorrect key. Again, somehow about 15 minutes later the key turned. There is a dangerous electrical malfunction occurring in this vehicle.
Exhibiting typical problems related to tipm failure.has never stalled on me while in motion, but will display "no bus" & gage needles shoot up & down.car won't start.
On may 1st 2017 i was on the market for a dependable vehicle for my children and i.my boyfriend suggested auto deals llc. On 12838 san pedro in san antonio, where his cousin richard mckinney is a salesman. My boyfriend and i arrived at 1:30 pm and stayed till 6pm that same day filling out paperwork and looking at vehicles. Richard's coworker doug assisted us on this first day. We decided to go home and sleep on it and see the new shipment the next day as i was unsatisfied with the current options.as we decided to leave the supervisor alex sinno said "come back tomorrow and i will give you a year warranty".when we returned the next morning with the $700 we were told we needed to drive off the lot, we were then told that the boss was asking for $1000 down plus insurance that they would take care of in house on an iou that we were to payback that friday. Feeling uneasy but still desperate we scraped together the extra $300 plus indebted ourselves for the in house insurance. Shortly after we drove off the lot on the way home on may 2nd 2017 the vehicle started to shake and the check engine light turns on and i notice that it is out of gas as well. After fueling up, i drive over to our family mechanic. He informs me of a multitude of issues including the radiator being bone dry, and gaskets needing replacements.i also notice i cannot lock my doors and see that there are over 20 fuses missing. We manage to make it home because the dealership is closed at this pointso we call in the morning. For a whole week we call repeatedly daily but never make it past the receptionist and never receive a call back. During the week i take it to a nearby advance auto and auto zone, where the vehicle is put on the computer. I ended up buying coolant and an ignition coil, as well as received copies of receipts and diagnostics on their machines.on may 5th we also payed back the i.

We were driving and we heard a clicking noise coming from engine, good thing we were driving towards dealer for oil change when the clicking got worse and worse. When we got to dealer we told them that we heard weird noises coming from under hood. It came out being that 2 studs from rear of engine from the exhaust manifold have broken and fallen off. They said if we continue driving with the 2 studs broken that the whole engine might fail and u could cause an accident. That the valves could permanently damage the engine if driven with exhaust leak or another scenario is that the exhaust leaked could cause a fire . I went online to see how many people have recorded that the studs have broken and its hundreds of people with dodge rams, dodge durangos, and chrysler aspens. They said that have spent thousands of dollars to fix the studs. Were gonna spend 450 for 2 broken studs. Hopefully we have no damage in the valves. Please make chrysler do a recall on there engine so they can fix the stud problems before someone gets hurt. Thank u
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x2. After purchasing the vehicle and exiting the lot, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where a relay switch was replaced. The failure recurred after the repair. When the engine stalled, the engine could be restarted after the initial attempt. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

We own a new unreliable 2007 chrysler aspen. Over a dozen times, it has randomly lost power and slid into neutral on its own where the driver has no power, brakes, or steering.i have had to use the emergency brake to stop the car often when it does this so the car does not role in a parking lot, or slide into my garage door.on sunday, september 16th i was on an expressway and i was at a stop light and when i went to accelerate, the car again would not go forward or reverse. Neither drive or reverse or neutral was lit up and the car would not move.unlike the other times though, it would not get moving again. Cars were coming at us 50 miles an hour. A lot of people came to help the kids and i move the car but it was hard to turn off the road because there was no steering, brakes, gas etc'after about 5 minutes of trying to move the car in and out of drive and neutral, and turning the car on and off, then the car would only stay on for a few seconds and turn off automatically.within 5 more minutes the car would not even turn on.we pushed the car and had to use the emergency brake to stop the car once it wasto the side.the dealership determined the main computer was broken and completely disabled the car.they replaced the main computer and the problem is still occurring.on sunday, october 14th we were at a store and i placed the car in reverse, and the car did the same thing again where it started to reverse, and then 'slipped into neutral' where neither neutral, reverse, or drive would light up, i had no steering, and no brakes.i hit the emergency brake to stop the car.i turned the car off, waited a few minutes, and turned it back on and was able to drive homemile.sunday, may 18th we were in a left turn lane turning left onto an expressway, the car completely died. The tow truck driver could not turn it on and towed it to our home.the next day another tow truck driver could not turn it on, and towed it back to the dealership.
Currently at 60 miles short of 3,000 miles.since i have had the vehicle it has acted very strange.it all started while in drive the vehicle will increase in rpm's but will not move in forward or in reverse.now this included a time or two while stopped at a light.myaspen's new thing is to have a momentary loss of engine power followed by the dash board illuminating as if the vehicle was in the ignition state but not started.once this event takes place the vehicle will not log miles driven, does not show current speed, does not show rpm's, shows every warning light available, the engine fan goes at full speed, the ac fan kicks on (it's winter'.no i do not have the ac on), and finally 'it does read the gas gage.' this condition can be cleared by restarting the vehicle.the dealerand chrysler has not recognized this as a normal fault and the vehicle stores no fault codes that have led to a problem with a solution.this event has taken place 12 times.however, this only happened twice when located near a dealer or not at an inconvenient time.i'm a soldier and i also run a disc jockey business.here are just a few inconvenient times:4:00 am (going to training), heading to a wedding ceremony, or my favorite day "sunday" when no dealer/automotive repairer can be found.the first time the tech at donovan dodge of sierra vista, az witnessed my freaky aspen in action he did not believe the computer output he was reading.the tech having no witnesses present turns the car off and viola no problem.the tech's supervisor and chrysler were in disbelief.now i have finally experienced this problem while the dealer was open and i was close by.the tech was very smart this time to get witnesses to show the computer reading no pcm, no abs, no pwr steer'etc.while running; chrysler says 'the vehicle should not be running.'
We recently purchased a 2007 chrysler aspen.everytime we fill up at the pump it does not shut off and sprays fuel everywhere.there is no recall for this model, but they do have the same problem with the same year durango's.all over the internet i have read of this problem and chrysler says it is a faulty gas tank and needs to be replaced.mine is not in warranty and i strongly feel that this is a sever safety and fire hazard.
Gas is spewed back out of the gas tank at the end of filling it up, soaking side of vehicle and anyone standing directly in front of it. Dangerous! occurs everytime gas tank is filled up completely full. Nothing has been done- chrysler will not fix. *ln
My check engine light and "gascap" wording keeps coming on my 2007 chrysler aspen. Have replaced gascap with chrysler part. Have reset computer codes several times. Each time, the lights will go off but 2-3 days later come back on. Took car to dealer who replaced a sensor and reset codes. 2 days later, lights came back on. Took back to dealer. Dealer now says my fuel tank needs replacing due to a crack causing a leak! the vehicle has 43k miles on it. This does not seem safe to me- i know that the durangos and aspens have had lots of fuel tank problems and there is no reason why a 2007 with this amount of miles should have any fuel tank problems! unsafe! the dealership quoted me $780 to fix. Unfortunately, being unemployed, i can't afford to fix. Hope a fire doesn't start in my vehicle!
I have an 2007 chrysler aspen with 43,000 miles on it. Just bought it two weeks ago and since then i've had a problem filling the vehicle with fuel. On three separate attempts, after the automatic shut off in the fuel nozzle trips, a very large amount of fuel come flying back out. Everytime it has come out far enough to splash back on the pump itself. On a fourth attempt, i tried to put the gas in as slow as possible and still with no warning, gas came back out, not spewing, but still came back out. It's a very aggravating and dangerous problem.
When filling with fuel, the fuel when finished will spew out every time. This soaks the side of the vehicle with fuel and is a major fire hazzard. Even if i am careful and fill more slowly or stop it before it is ready it does not matter, there is a fuel spill everytime.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler aspen 4x2. The contact stated that when refueling the vehicle to almost full, at least one quart of fuel would spill from the fuel tank. The vehicle was purchased used in 2010 and the contact had experienced the failure since purchase. The contact informed the dealer of the failure and the contact was advised that there were no recalls relative to the failure.he then contacted the manufacturer and filed a complaint but no further assistance was offered and the vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000 and the current mileage was 32,000.
2007 chrysler aspen 50,000 miles when filling with gas and the nozzle cuts off gas splashes back out spills to the ground and surrounding area.does not appear to be any way to position nozzle so this will not happen.this just began happening.
2007 chrysler aspen fuel tank overflows at fill up spilling a significant amount of fuel down the vehicle and pooling on the ground. This releases an incredible amount of fuel vapors and presents a large gasoline fire hazard. This happens at every fill up and regardless of octane, time of day, or amount of fuel in tank on fill up.i bought this used aspen two days ago and no have this problem.hopefully chrysler will own up to the issue.
I have an 2007 chrysler aspen with 41,000 miles on it.we bought it three months ago and i've had a problem filling the vehicle with fuel everytime. On several attempts to fill the gas tank, after the automatic shut off in the fuel nozzle trips, a very large amount of fuel will come flying back out. The fuel splashes back out on to me, the fuel hose and all over the car. I have tried several different gas stations and even tried to put the gas in as slow as possible and still with no warning, fuel still comes splashing/spewingback out.this is a huge safety concern, especially with children in the vehicle.can you please help us aspen owners to get the fuel problem resolved???? safety first!

1.nothing obvious leading up tp the incident2.when fueling the vehicle to the point of the auto shut off, the vehicle will burp fuel out of the fill reservoir. At every fill up, it only happens during full tank fills. We do not keep filling after the auto shut off gets triggered.3.dealer says it's a bad check valve inside the fuel tank which is stuck in the open position. A fuel tank replacement is the only option.4.there is a recall out for very similar if not identical issue with it's sister truck 2005 dodge durango...

Aspen has only 16000 miles and has a horrible problem of burping fuel out of the tank when filling up at what ever pressure one holds the nozzle. Every time tank is filled it dumps out 1 to 2 gallons of full on myself and the body of the car as well as on the ground. I have taken it to chrysler only to be told that a recall has not been issue yet a tsb has been issued by chrysler them selves acknowledging the problem and the solution for the life of the vehicle. Tsb 14-001-12 classifying it as an extended warranty bulletin. Acknowledging that chrysler is aware of the problem being a stuck flapper in the gas tank. Chrysler is not wanting to resolve the problem in my vehicle saying that they don't have a specific recall noted and that the tsb bulletin is for there own techs and not for customer awareness. Every time i or my wife fill the tank in the aspen while traveling or locally i get an enormous amount of fuel back sprayed and spewedon me and my cloths requiring me to stay away from any sparks, fire or ignitions of any sort till i remove my clothing and then shower off the gasoline. I could really use help in getting this dangerous issue resolve for and my wife. I have on hand letters to chrysler customer clearly stating that the fuel inlet check valve has been extended to include extended lifetime warranty if you would like to have a copy of.
Bought my 2007 chrysler aspen went to fill it up with gas, tank was just about full when an excessive amount of gas shot out of the filler neck all over my husband and myself.
I am not exactly sure of the date but our vehicle first spewed gas from the gas tank when filling the fuel tank sometime in early 2012. This only happened one or two times before we received a recall notice for a check valve in the fuel fill line. We took the vehicle in for the repair as soon as the part was available late in 2012. A few months afterwards, the vehicle began to overflow every time that it was filled to anywhere near capacity. The dealer now tells me that a new fuel tank is required to correct the problem and chrysler is unwilling to repair the problem under the lifetime warranty that was issued with the recall. This is a serious fire hazard since significant amounts of fuel overflow onto the vehicle, the person filling the vehicle, and the ground every time the vehicle is filled with fuel. In addition to the safety hazard, this also presents an environmental hazard due to the fuel leakage onto the ground.
On 18 november 2010 around 6 pm, my vehicle was parked in the driveway of my home approximately three feet from the garage entrance. To move the vehicle into the garage for the night, i got in the vehicle, closed the door, stepped on the brake, let off the emergency brake, started it, put the transmission in 'd', let off the brake, and did not touch the gas pedal.the engine immediately cycled up to 4000 rpm, and the vehicle immediately started moving forward.i then hit the brake to no effect on speed.the vehicle proceeded through the garage, impacted my steel workbench/tool container, went through the back wall and the front end impacted the ground seven feet below the garage dropoff and the engine turned off.the air bags did not deploy.i removed the key and got out of the vehicle.my neighbors witnessed the event as the vehicle drove out the back of the garage.fortunately i was not injured, but went to the emergency room at ft belvoir amc.since i have owned this vehicle, we have experienced a hole in the ac compressor, flickering of the driver's side foot well light, loss of ignition while driving and when the transmission is placed in 'r' it would fall out of gear.all were reported over the last three years at chrysler dealers in ca, msand va.i reported this to chrysler late november and received a letter back on 17 december from chrysler customer claims resolution group stating the found no problems with the vehicle that may have contributed to this accident.i found online that chrysler had vehicles recalled in 2007 that had accelerator problems and the accelerators were made by the same supplier that made the toyota ones.http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/04/chrysler-is-recalling-caliber-and-compass-for-accelerator-pedal-problem/ i am prepared to discuss further any questions chrysler leadership may have, as well as photograph and video documentation and witnesses to this event. I owned a new 2007 chrysler aspen that the passenger seat -heating element malfunctioned while the vehicle was turned off.vehicle caught on fire and was totaled.reported to chrysler dealership and they stated, it was not a recall issue.i strongly disagree.fire department (chief arson investigator) clearly states in his report that it was a factory issue and very clearly fire started (while vehicle had been parked for 6-7 hours) in the passenger seat and ignited catching the vehicle on fire.
My wife was driving our 2007 chrysler aspen when the left lower control arm broke off causing the wheel and axel to come off, went left instantly and into a 18 inch ditch, and broke her hand. I called chrysler the very next day, they gave me a case # and sent a man out to take pictures,he down played the whole thing like this was normal.later i received a letter from chrysler saying it was not the fault of chrysler. I have taken the broken part to at least 10 places that knows about front ends also metal and welding shops body shops. Within 10 seconds they all said it is a defect.you can see very plainly where it has been cracked for awhile, old and rusted, and then the new break.no other car was involved , just broke off.chrysler will not e-mail me or talk to me on the phone.my suv was totaled and the insurance company paid me back.but i still have the piecethat broke off and pictures.i thought chrysler would want to know about this before a person or family got killed.if this had broke off at a higher rate of speed my family would of got killed, she just pulled on to a county road and about a 1000 ft. It snapped off. No lawyers will take this case because there's no money in just a broken hand.if you need anymore info. Or want pictures let me know.even after i have my money i think about this every day and when i see aspens on the road and have a chance i will stop and show them the partand warn them that they might want to get it checked. Thank you for your time.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
A " snapping " or " popping " noise developed in the front suspension when going around a corner at ~ 30 mph. It was more pronounced when going over small to moderate bumps. Both the chrysler dealer and an independent garage said it needed new upper and lower ball joints. I had them replaced and the noiseis still there. No one can find the source of this noise. I am concerned there is a major defect and it will eventually cause or contribute toan accident. The 2009 chrysler aspen was recently put on a buyback list for suspension troubles. Both the 2007 and 2008 aspens are the same as the 2009. I am curious as to why the 2008 and 2007 weren't included on this list.
