While driving 70 mph the vehicle was involved in a five car pile up. The front and side air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained a severe gash on the head, cuts and bruises.*sc

The clockspring failed. This connects all the controls on the steering wheel and the airbag to the car's system. The problem here is a shortage of replacements-the part is on a nationwide backorder. It would seems to me that this is a part that should always be available.

I own a 2002 300m chrysler and on may 17, 2005 when leaving the dealership from receiving some maintenance work a driver of a toyota 4runner t-boned the driver side of the car causing extensive damage and the car was totalled by the insurance company. My car was equiped with front and side air bags as indicated on the sales sticker, however all air bags failed to work in this accident situation. Had my side bags deployed i could have potentially prevented severe bruising to my left side, glass injected into my left arm and forhead area, and possibly prevented loss time from work, not to mention my pain and suffering due to the injuries.the police report has stated that the accident was due to the other driver failing to stop at a traffic signal.

Attendant started car rolled to the gated exit. When waiting for the gate to open the passenger side airbag exploded while the car was not in motion. Driver side bad did not deploy. Dash damage was estimated at $4000. I took to dealer and they took two days to analyze the cause. They said it was a bad control module in the passenger side airbag. They did not offer relief for the parts or workmanship cause of the malfunction.

A year ago the problem with the 3rd gear began.i was driving with my children when the car seemed to have down shifted, it felt heavy.the car has also turned off while driving one time.input/output speed sensors replaced, transmission oil changed, ground wire checked .

Originally the dash on the car would flicker on and off. For the last 16 months the number 7 fuse blows and takes out the dash and the tail lights. If you are driving at night it becomes a very dangerous situation. The dealers have looked at this problem a dozen times or more and it has yet to be resolved.

While driving 25 mph battery warning light illuminated. Vehicle lost power, and a fire started under the hood. The fire was put out, and the vehicle was towed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. The fire was the cause of one of the terminals on the battery.

I have now yet over 5k worth of receipts of repairs completed prior to the transmission going out yet again this time while driving with my children the car shut off in motion in middle of a 4 way.the electrical system while driving all light s interior pops on while driving and cause friction in the speed. This has been actively doing this for approx. 2 years when i took to have the car looked at the mechanic advised its a poorly built car and would need the whole electric system re-wired. The biggest thing is the transmission is slipping in 1st gear and reverse the first time the engine blew i was in the fast lane at 65 miles per hour dropped to 40 miles and everyone behind me was quick as i could have lost my life amongst others. I feel that i have been a victim of under the dodd-frank wall street reform and consumer protection act (dodd-frank act), all covered persons or service providers are legally required to refrain from committing unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (collectively,udaaps) in violation of the act. The contact placed the gear into neutral and coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted and taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. On my way to work on may 8th 2014, my battery light came on. In a split second decision i decided to go to work instead of coffee first to call a mechanic and within 2 minutes my car had died. Smoke was coming in through my vents and i had witnesses yelling at me to get away from my car it was on fire. In the 5 minutes it took the fire department to get there, the front of my car was gone. I had little to no warning of this and have since found that chrysler was aware of this problem with no recall of the vehicle. I am very thankful that my children were not with me that day and thankful that the only injury to me was smoke/fume inhalation.

Design flaw in chrysler 300m 3.5 motor engine-- block head restrcition causing car to constantly overheat. I ahve spent well over $1000.00 now to get this fixed and correctly diagnosed and was notified by mechanic and chrysler dealership that they have had 268 cases of these 300m vehicles with this problem.very dangerous for overheating and possibility of fire. Chrysler headquaters has no knowledge, (i say apparently), butfeel free to call montgomery brewbaker chrsyler and haigler's auto repair in montgomery alabama and they will gladly indicate the seriousness of this situation. Apparentlt it's a flaw in the 3.5 engine in chrysler. No apparent recall has been issued. Please advise and assist in correcting this major issue.

Squeaky sounds coming from windows, motor goes in the windows, 2002 chrysler 300m special edition repaired at 300 a window. Two rear windows were affected. Overheated engine.

01/12/2002 -three hours after i picked up the car from the dealer, at about 45-50 miles/hour, could not stop the car, lost control of the car , and hit frontal the concrete divider on the highway. The car has been totaled. 03/18/2002 - received letter from daimler chrysler saying that the car has been manufactured with defective engine. Chrysler proposes to replace the car or give me the moneyback.

The head lights displayed poor visibility.there appeared to be a flaw in the design of the vehicle that presented a safety hazard.the front bumper was so low that there was an area of complete darkness on the road between the two headlights when driven at night.the vehicle had been taken to the dealer on several occasions and they stated it was a design problem. *scc

Fuel hose that runs to the fuel rail has a hole on it that squirts fuel on the manifold that is very dangerous of car catch fire. Dealer said the part is discontinued.

We were rear ended while stopped at a traffic signal. Both of our seats came loose from the floor and the hinges broke on our seat backs. Our auto was totaled and taken away by the other persons insurance company.

When using the driver side seat heater, the seat overheated and burned the seat and the jacket i was wearing.

2002 chrysler 300m driving on busy highway (rt20) at 40 mph, heard a loud bang, next think i knew i was laying flat in the car in back seat looking at ceiling. Rear seat back broke and seat fell backward, i found myself crossing double yellow line going into oncoming traffic. Called dealer chrysler-plymouth of schaumburg (ill) they claimed there was no recall on my car and charged me $467.00 for repairs to replace broken seat mechanisms. I brought in a copy of recall from internet, he said it did not apply to my car.

This occurred two times in identical sinerios. As you go to park car you apply brake as you approach wheel stop. At aprox. 10mph the brake is released and then reapplied for final stop. I'ts then the car accelerates.when this happened i kept brake on and saw me tachometer showing 200rpm. Within the next 5 seconds aprox,the engine returns back to idle. I hope this is clear to you and tommorrow 7/22/2002 i'm going to the dealer repair shop to make complaint.

Consumer heard a loud noise while traveling 65 mph.also, abs light was flashing consumer depressed the brakes and abs locked up, causing vehicle to go intoa 180* turn, hitting a guard rail twice.

The brakes and rotors continued to wear prematurely.the dealer stated that the rotors were warped.the rotors were warping due to harsh composition of the brake pad.the front pads and rotors were replaced.the rotors were out of round.there was pulsation when the vehicle was driven at 60 mph, therefore the front pads and rotors were replaced again, the rotors were out of round again.on another occasion, the consumer felt as is he were going to get thrown from the vehicle due to the pulsation.the pads and rotors were changed on four different occasions. *sc

Front brake rotor warped

Vehicle was taken to the dealer for a routine check up, and mechanic determined that the rotors needed to be replaced due to worn out parts, and replaced them. However, a few months later vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a routine check up and was informed that the rotors needed to be replaced again.

When having routine service performed on the vehicle at 22,000 miles, i was advised that the rotors on the front brakes were warped and required replacement.i was also advised that this was not covered by the "bumper-to-bumper" 36,000 mile warranty.rather, the warranty period for brake rotors is 12,000 miles. I paid for the replacement but note that i had a similar problem on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee at well over 12,000 miles and the rotors were replaced under warranty.it appears that chrysler knows that it has a problem with premature wear on disc brake rotors, but has chosen to address it by limiting the warranty rather than fixing the problem.

01/12/2002 -three hours after i picked up the car from the dealer, at about 45-50 miles/hour, could not stop the car, lost control of the car , and hit frontal the concrete divider on the highway. The car has been totaled. 03/18/2002 - received letter from daimler chrysler saying that the car has been manufactured with defective engine. Chrysler proposes to replace the car or give me the moneyback.

My 2000 chrysler 300m with aprox 83,000 miles, began to experience a loose feel to the steering, clunks upon turning, suspension rattle over bumps. Odd front tire tread wear pattern.took to shop for alignment and inspection. Shop informed me that car was unalignable due to impending failure of inner tie rod bushing.small tire and alignment shop was unwilling to do the repair to to complexity.to to my main mechanic who confirmed the problem, and altough he wouldn't have the part for a day cautioned aganst driving any further do to its near failure which if happened while driving could result in total steering failure. There is rust inside the trunk lid and the rear passenger doors, causing the doors and trunk lid not to latch properly.consumer noted it wasn't the rust but a defect from the manufacturer which causes the door not to close.the paint was chipping and peeling.there were , two different color white finishes.the shifter cable broke and was repaired.*ph

Consumer stated the front bumper hit the curb when he attempted to park the vehicle. Consumer stated the car sat too low to the ground.consumer feels this is a safety concern because if the clip is loose, the front bumper would come off. Clips gets caught on all parking bumpers.*ph

When the consumer moved the vehicle backwards, the front bumper fell off.

Chrysler 300m 2002, 13000 milesfront strut bolts and washers corroded. Two washers fractured and bolts without support. Other two washers show signs of corrosion. Failure of other 2 bolt washerscould have resulted in steering problems with the car, potentially resulting in accident. Car is only 1 year old.corrosion is probaly caused by incompatible metal selection of washer and bolt, and/or too high strenght steel for washer as it fractured in about 15 bits. Other washer split in two.

My driver's side mirror has oozed a gel and lost reflective properties. It is very dangerous to change lanes and get on interstate highways. This happened pretty quickly. It started with turning an amber color, then every time it rained it would appear as a gel leaked from bottom of mirror glass. Now as of this date i am unable to see anything in this mirror. I've seen other chrysler and dodge vehicles with the same problem. My husband worked at dodge chrysler jeep in our city and said this happened a lot in chrysler's. This problem started around december 2016. Completely lost reflection in february 2017.

Electrical issue started about six months after purchasing my 2002 chrysler 300m.the lights would spontaneously flicker for no reason while driving.thishappened while driving at night, luckily lights came back on.battery drains out every 3-6 months.at the time of purchase the car was still under warranty- the dealer claimed they were unable to fix a problem if it wasn't occurring attheir shop; alternator checked and was working.the battery issue has not been resolved. A year ago the problem with the 3rd gear began.i was driving with my children when the car seemed to have down shifted, it felt heavy.the car has also turned off while driving one time.input/output speed sensors replaced, transmission oil changed, ground wire checked .

This occurred two times in identical sinerios. As you go to park car you apply brake as you approach wheel stop. At aprox. 10mph the brake is released and then reapplied for final stop. I'ts then the car accelerates.when this happened i kept brake on and saw me tachometer showing 200rpm. Within the next 5 seconds aprox,the engine returns back to idle. I hope this is clear to you and tommorrow 7/22/2002 i'm going to the dealer repair shop to make complaint.

Horrendoos moldy odor camefrom heating/air conditioner when itwas turned on.service manager, citrus chrysler says nothing can be done except replace condenser for over $800.00.vehiclewas serviced as required.evaporator system has been cleaned twice.if there is a recognized defect in 2004 300m's, isn't it possible that the same problem existed in the 2002 300m?

While driving down nj route 1/9 (northern nj), the sunroof exploded. The glass blew up and portions fell onto my lap and also into the front passenger space. The glass bubbled up as if the explosion came from the inside out. After closer inspection, there was glass not only all over the interior of the car, there was glass in each crevice on the exterior.there were no external foreign objects found inside the vehicle and the glass was hot to the touch.

Windshield has a white film on it, and would not come off even when washing vehicle. Can hardly see out of windshield. Please provide further information. Dealer contacted.

I have a 2002 chrysler 300m.the design of the wheel rim is bad. The rims of my car are badly corroded.it is not possible to see the corrosion due to the design of the wheel.my front tire, both,started losing air. This was noticed when i went to turned when it was raining and my car skidded. Luckily nobody was in the other lane. I took the car to get new tire and was told that it was not my tires it was the rim.the tire will not seal to the rim do to the corrosion.when i called the first representative hung up on me and was rude. The next person was very nice, but could not help me.i will replace the rims myself. I understand that rims sometimes do this, but as the tire place told me.chryslers in particular this design on the 300m are by far the worst and they have never seen rims as corroded as mine.
