I received a recall notice and my local dealer says they can't get the necessary parts required to repair my vehicle from the manufacturer.i have given this dealership ample time to remedy my problem but still it hasn't been resolved. I phoned the manufacturer about it and they verified that the dealership doesn't have the part and they couldn't give a timeline. So i'm writing to complain now.

All the warning lights on the dash were flashing and speedometer and tachometer was pulsating from 0 to actual, no loss of power however scared thestuff out of me. Stopped and turned engine off. Was ok, by the way, we were on canada 1 and had to get back to the us.almost got home and it all started again.

We were on the freeway and in the space of several seconds, we lost rpms, the check engine light came on, then the traction light, then all of the lights, then it died just as we got onto the shoulder.the mechanic had to replace timing belt and water pump just to get it running enough to run the codes.mechanic reports that there are bent valves and 4 of the cylinders are misfiring.

Engine stalls very often even while driving on thehwy. No mechanic neither the dealer has beenable to fix it.

The vehicle has had two owners in the same family and has very low mileage (66000). The issue began in october of 2018. While driving on city streets at 40 mph the indicators on the dash began flickering and making noise. This continued intermittently for three months but could not be replicated at an independent mechanic. Then in january of 2019 while driving on the freeway at 65 mph the same issue happened except this time there the speedometer went to 0 but the car could still be operated. The car was taken into an independent mechanic who attempted to diagnose the issue for over a month but had no luck. As instructed by the mechanic the car was brought to the dealership where it was purchased brand new in 2006. The dealership kept the car for 6 days in february of 2019 and could not diagnose the issue, charging the owner a $240 fee for nothing. As soon as the owner left the dealership the car again experienced the same issue while driving on the freeway. The car was brought immediately to the owners personal mechanic who has had the car ever since. The mechanic has since brought the car to another dodge/chrysler dealership in town who charged an additional $600 ending in no diagnosis. The car is unable to pass smogas now the problem occurs more frequently and is unsafe to drive. I have seen this complaint several times online and it would seem to me that chrysler should be responsible for fixing or compensating the ownersfor an obvious mechanical issue.

The 2007 chrysler 300 was purchased new and has 13600 original miles. The check engine light came on 2 years ago, followed by all of the dash lights coming on then the car slows to a crawl. I took the car to the dealer and they saw that it had multipal faultsbut did not know the cause. The problem disappeared after it cooled down. Six months later samething. Last week 5/07/2019 back to a different chrysler dealer this time but had it towed. I believe this car is dangerous in that if on the freeway or open road and can not pull over this could cause an accident. I do have documentation.

I own a 2007 chrysler 300 c. For the past two years the car just shuts off while driving. It does not matter what speed i am doing. It just shuts down.it takes me pulling off the road if i can, shut it off and restart it. Recently i took it to chrysler for i think the third time and they replaced the ecu. It worked for about three months and yesterday i was driving in interstate driving when it shut down doing 70 miles hour. Barely avoiding a semi from running into the back of me. It happened twice with in a 500 mile drive. Very dangerous. About three weeks ago it happened on a side street and i pulled over and it started up fine. Wrote it off and went on. This is very bad. I am going back to the dealer tomorrow and find out what can be done. No warning when this happens and it seems chrysler has no answer but to replace the computer.

I was driving and car began to loose acceleration. Car then completely shut down on me in the middle of the road without a cause. Car was towed by a tow driver i know and car hasn't started ever since. Came to realize it's showing codes p0513 for the anti-theft system. I then began to read more about it and it's a manufacturers error. It's a common thing for dodge and chrysler's from 2005 to 2010 to shut down for no reason due to anti-theft system.

Car stalled without warning, all dash lights lit up, gauges quit, climate control stopped, restarted and after driving about 500 feet all returned to normal???

Takata airbag-driver window began to malfunction, while driving, at standstill, oh highway, street and when parked.eventually the regulator was replaced.air bag inflator was replaced previously per recall..

While traveling at speed engine stalls, all dash warning lights illuminate, all gauges drop to no reading and headlights go out, vehicle will restart and show no signs of stated incident, this has happened at least 9 times. Check engine light will only illuminate when failure occurs that is stated above....updated 11/13/15the consumer stated the failure occurred four times on 8/21/15.updated 8/21/15 updated 1o/27/2017

I had a full electrical system shutdown. Once i was able to get the car stopped on the side of the road i had the tow truck driver check the battery level and it was good. No lights, power, nothing. Rpm & speedometer were still pegged at the level they were at when the issue occurred.

I own a 2007 chrysler 300c. It has a lifetime power train warranty. As the original owner of this vehiclewith the paper work of the warranty i still had to argue with a chrysler dealership and chrysler on a covered part. Afterwards i still had to pay a $50.00 deductible. I purchased this vehicle because it came with this lifetime power train warranty. As i read the complaints listed on this vehicle, the complaints with the gear shift handle sticking and even the one about the operation from 4 to 8 cylinders i what to leave this information on here for them. If they are the original owner of the 07 chrysler 300c and have kept up the required maintenance on it then they to should have a lifetime warranty on those repairs as they are part of the power train. My complaint is about the heater. The knob allows you to adjust the temperature from 60 to 88 high. My heat doesn't come on until it's turned all the way up to high and then it is scorching hot. There's no in-between. It's either cold or very hot. This is dangerous and very aggravating.on another note, the past winter i didn't drive my 300c for a month do to the ice and snow. I left it parked in my driveway. The battery died. So i charged it and now the 3 lights, the anti-lock breaks, skid and traction wont go off. I've checked all the fuses and even hooked up the scanner to check for codes. No bad fuses and no bad codes. I've disconnected the battery cable hoping thatmight reset what ever is causing the lights to stay on. Still no luck. I've drove the car all spring, summer and now fall 2014 without any problems with the brakes or steering. But i do not want these lights to stay on as they are suppose to be safety items and is concerning. Has anyone else had any of these problems? if so can you email me and let me know what you found out if anything. Thank you, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 2007 chrysler 300c has a lifetime powertrain warranty. I received the document listing the parts covered for the lifetime warranty. My abs, esp and tcs lights came on. The right rear speed sensor went bad. I called graven and set up appointment for warranty work. I also called chrysler corp. I brought my car to graven chrysler, 10-10-11 at approx. 2:30pm. Graven chrysler called the next morning, 10-11-11 7:53am my car was ready. Graven said it was going to cost $135. I said that the work was warranty. Graven said it wasn't warranty work because part number doesn't come back as warranty. I explained to the assistant that it is warranty, that my car has a lifetime powertrain warranty. She said that only covers the engine, transmission and driveline. I said it also covers a lot of other parts which i have a list of. She then said, you will have to talk with chrysler and there was nothing she could do. Chrysler said i have to pay a $50.00 co-pay. I said why should i pay a co-pay when this part has a lifetime warranty. I was told i can pay the $50.00 or $185. I said that i was told it was $135. I said for now i will pay the $50.00 but would file a complaint for the warranty and getting my $50.00 back. The next day i received a call from chrysler. I was asked how my car was running. I said it drove home ok. She said that she would close the case then. I said that i can't understand why you made me pay $50.00 co-pay when the part is listed on the paperwork as having a lifetime warranty under the powertrain. She said that i could call graven chrysler back and try and get them to except it. I said, why, you are the person who makes the decision as you did about the co-pay and the graven chrysler wouldn't even do that. While driving the vehicle, making a right-hand turn the vehicle stopped running, with no warnings on the dashboard.it just shut off.while attempting to pull out of the garage one morning the vehicle lost steering to the right side of the car.the car was taken to a reputable mechanic who kept it for two days and could not find anything wrong with the it.the vehicle has had numerous times when it de-accelerates while turning to the right.on a couple of occasions the car actually stopped.each time the vehicle has been checked out i have been told that no problem registers and cannot be diagnosed unless they mechanic can get it to duplicate.now, the car will not turn over.it drove fine, i got home parked it in the garage and was getting ready to leave again, got into the vehicle to start it up and it will not start.no messages on the dashboard.the lights turn on yet it will not turn over.at least this time when everything went haywire i was safely home and not on the street, or highway driving as i have been in the past.this has happened on numerous occasions.

At around 106k, a valve seat broke and dropped into a cylinder chamber, damaging the cylinder. The engine is a complete loss. No compression in one cylinder and 50 lbs difference in compression in remaining seven cylinders. The car had recently been driven and parked in a garage. About ten minutes later it was started, backfired and failed to idle. A scope detected at least one cylinder was damaged. Mechanic assessment: need a complete new engine.

Purchased this car few months ago. Monday feb. 24th, 2020 i was sitting inside my car when suddenly i notice a fire in the engine. I immediately grab my wallet and phone exited the car and called 911. The firemen came (fire was out by that time) . I had car towed to dealership (4460 mchenry ave, modesto ca 95356 central valley chrysler, nissan) they had car for couple of days and today called me in to tell me that a rod shot through the oil pan (i assume it occurred after fire started because i did not hear anything prior to fire and was not driving car when fire started). They tole me that it needs a new engine but they need to do more research on car and go into engine (which i guess is a big task). They tell me that if they determine that they must replace engine at their cost (upon buying car dealership told me i could only get financed for car if i purchased a 24 month warranty which i did). They then advise me that this job of just looking into engine is $4,200.00 and that i must pay them this amount prior to them doing their exploratory work on engine. They tell me that if i did nothing to cause fire (that is crazy to think i somehow in very short time as owner caused car to just catch fire out of the blue while sitting in it parked) that they will replace the engine with a used one. I feel as though a used engine may force me to go through this again and i was fortunate as if fire were to travel through gas line i would be dead right now. I believe they want to force me to pay this money up front and then try and tell me it is my responsibility to pay for everything, nullifying my warranty just so they do not have to honor their legal obligations.

The engine shuts down, power steering cuts off when i'm sitting at a light but only after i pull off. I have to put the car in neutral really quick and start it. I took it to the dealership more than once and he told me that they could not find anything. I told him i almost got rammed in the back twice because it cuts off right after i pull off and i have a hard time turning the steering wheel because the power steering goes out also.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the valve seat in the engine head fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 172,000. The vin was not available.

Engine stalls very often even while driving on thehwy. No mechanic neither the dealer has beenable to fix it.

Cooling fan separated from its assembly while pulling out onto a busy highway from my neighborhood. The fan shattered and tore into my radiator creating a major antifreeze dump out of thereservoir. Thought i was hit from behind however there was no car behind me. There was not any audible warning indicators or dash lights warnings immediately after this fan failure in which the a/c continued blowing cold air. Within 3 min of failure as i set at a traffic light the cooling temp light came on.i veered off and pulled into jiffy lube and found out i had a antifreeze leak due to looking at a pool of red liquid on the ground...the mechanics poured water into the reservoir and we all noticed water pouring right out....as we let the car cool we attempted to restart vehicle and the ignition wouldn't turn on. ....had my chryslertowed to the dealership and they quoted a $8000 fix which included $4000 of it for a refurbished enginedue to cylinder head damage...the damage all happened within 5 minutes of failure.....done some research online and found there is a 2006- 2008 dodge charger, dodge magnum, and chrysler 300 recall"customer satisfaction notification l08 engine cooling fan june 2011". Recall states that the cooling fan fails and comes off in hot climate temperature states. This was the sameexactfailure i had experienced and was told by chrysleri was not covered becausemy sales code had to be sales code xdl or xdk...same exact situation happened tomany others including one a few weeks before mine in which customer was denied. Chrysler was called multiple times and have had 2 customer service reps hang up in my girlfriend's face as she was explaining to the reps how this failure was the same exact failure. There needs to be an additionalrecall investigation into these cooling fans before someone ends up severelyinjuredimmediately.

My car's 96,000 mile enginesuddenly blew a #6 cylinder soon after i drove from work. I have an excellent service history. Never had any warning or issues.now i'm told to pay 6500 for another engine with more miles. My research shows this an ongoing issue with chrysler hemi engines.my next step is to contact my congressman and senator.why has chrysler been held accountable?

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. While driving 15 mph, an abnormal noise emitted from the front of the vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the radiator fan blade fractured and caused the fan blade to damage the radiator. The contact stated that antifreeze was pouring from the radiator. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

Car stalled without warning, all dash lights lit up, gauges quit, climate control stopped, restarted and after driving about 500 feet all returned to normal???

12/5/2015 went to the market, 2 miles from home.went into the store for approx. 15 minutes.when i returned to car to start is wouldn't start, not a battery problem.couldn't move car so had it towed to dealership, mcpeeks dodge of anaheim.service writer told us that the noise in the engine was two valve seats dropped into the engine causing cylinder head and bore damage.we have always had our car service by dealer when we needed oil change, tune up or whatever was necessary for car.we keep car in garage and drive at posted speedand always keep our vehicle in new condition.my husband and i are in our seventies so we aren't reckless with our vehicles.there were no warning signs of any engine trouble and the service writer couldn't believe what had happened with only 44,612 miles on a 2007 vehicle which we bought new in 2007.we had to pay $8749.65 for a new engine which is only guaranteed for 3 yrs or 70,000 miles.we only drive about 5,000 miles a year.so this means if this problem should happen again i would have only put 15,000 miles on my car in three years.this is totally wrong.after reviewing associated problems on the internet i find that chrysler has engine problems with 2006, 2007 vehicles...engine goes out at around 70,000 miles, ours at 44,612.we paid $42,000 for the car new in 2007.chrysler should pay for our problem since they knew there were problems with 300, 300c engines.we are out the towing to the dealership and the repair using a small savings we have as a retired couple.a seven year old car with 44,000 miles should have a engine last longer.as noted the car was stopped and parked at a supermarket for no more than 15 minutes and did not demonstrate any engine problems prior to this problem drove beautifully.we have the bill, which has been paid by us.i'm not sure how to download, but i could fax if contacted.

Cooling fan broke and fractured the radiator.found the attached customer service notification l08 which describes what happened to my vehicle.when i called the manufacturer they said my vehicle does not fall under it.

Came out of the store to start the car. It wouldn't start. Engine made a coins shaking in can noise. Had towed to a service center, they asked if it had overheated, i said no because it hadn't shown any signs it had. They said it got so hot things melted and valve seats and pistons were ruined. I've read about dodge jeep and chrysler hemi 5.7s and valve seats and many people had this exact same problem with no sure reason as to why. I believe there is some defect in the engine itself causing this and extended warranty's won't cover claiming because valve seats aren't an internally lubricated part or some bs reason. Needs immediately looked into i'm about to lose my car over it!

Driving on freeway at 68 mph and engine just die with out notice. Also 4 or 5 time engine die after accelerating from 0 to 5-10 mph. Engine jusy stall with out power. I have to put car on park and start the engine again.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300-c. The contact stated that when driving at any speed, the vehicle would shift from the eighth cylinder to the fourth cylinder, causing the vehicle to become unresponsive to acceleration attempts. The vehicle started to lose power when driving at lower speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The dealer replaced the coil as a precaution however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who advised that the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 13,000 and the current mileage was 36,000.

Drove my car to work in the morning with no problems.after work i started the car and could not shift the gear out of park. I tried several times, turning the car off and on etc. But it would not move.called the repair shop.they came and removed the shifter assembly to get it to the shop and said they had to replace the entire shift assembly because a small plastic piece was broken inside and they couldn't just replace the piece, it had to be the entire assembly for the cost of $300.00.no warnings or other issues.after looking the problem up on the internet, seems to be a very common problem with this car make and model.i have also had trouble with this car several times just shutting down or almost shutting off (jerks like you are hit and seems like it is shutting down but then returns to normal)while sitting at a light or a stop sign.usually it will start back up quickly but it is very dangerous in traffic and i have almost been rear ended 2 times because of it.i took it to the dealership 2 different times complaining about this issue, but they said they couldn't find anything wrong and that the computer system didn't show any problems.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. After the vehicle was taken to a dealer for routine maintenance, it began emitting smoke. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in the manufacturer recall related to the failure. The failure mileage was 93,000. The vin and nhtsa campaign number were not available.

Engine stalls while vehicle is traveling.at the same time this occurs, the dash lights and gauges will go haywire, flickering, flashing and the gauges swing wildly.the headlights may also go off if they are on.

Over 2 years ago at 108,000 miles while driving we experienced a loud rattling noise coming from the engine. It eventually stopped but the car kept running rough and smoking. We opened up the engine and a piston had failed and collapsed in upon itself. We pulled the engine and performed a complete engine rebuild. About 2 months ago at 134,000 miles we had a similar occurrence. We pulled the head and found that cylinder two had damage on the head and corresponding locations on the piston. Compression test confirmed loss of compression on cylinder 2. I purchased a new head and upon reassembly i shook the intake manifold and discovered there were objects inside. I was able to get some of them out and they appear to be parts of the valve seat from cylinder 2. I am attaching photographs of the damage to the cylinder head at cylinder number 2 and also the fragments that i was able to remove from the intake manifold which appear to be parts of the valve seat from the exhaust valve at cylinder number 2. Please note that this car has been driven for 10 years since we purchased it new by my wife and has never been stressed raced or abused in any way. We like our car which is why i went through the trouble of rebuilding the engine 2 years ago and have gone to the lengths that i have gone to this time. However after discovering that this is a common occurrence with this engine i don't feel that i can trust it anymore. Further i am going to have to look at other make vehicles as i don't know if i can trust a chrysler product anymore. We have been loyal chrysler consumers for quite some time as well as was my father before me. I'm hoping there is something you can do for us to right this situation.

On multiple occasions (more notably in moist weather, i.e. Rain, morning dew, and humidity) my vehicle has stalled out causing me to have to pull off or veer on to the shoulder of the road.the vehicle does not show any error codes, nor does it have any stored codes from the occasions that this particular issue has come up.the dealerships in my area claim that they have never heard of this issue before and cannot attribute it to anything in particular.they are reluctant to provide me any type of advice because they don't want to be "subject to lemon laws" and so for that fact i feel that chrysler is attempting to turn a blind eye to a very real, very dangerous issue with their vehicles.

I heard a warning like a tire blow out. Then i saw smoke from driver's side.. Nothing came on the dashboard. There was no warning on the dashboard at all.

Oil sensor if faulty no check engine light hemi tick turns into a heavy click acceleration and running in park

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.when approaching a stop at 5 mph, the engine stalls.the failure only occurs when approaching a stop sign or decelerating.the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.the powertrain was unknown.the failure mileage was 167 and current mileage was 1,100.

Radiator cooling fans pn 24041556 cavity 1.the fan blades separated while my wife was driving and fortunately for us she was coming to a stop. The fan blade(s) cause multiple holes to the radiator disabling the car so wehad the car tolled. Both radiator and the fan assembly where damaged beyond repair. I called chrysler at the cs # 1-800-853-1403 on the recall notification on the web atwww.wkjeeps.com/misc/lx/tsb_300c_forums/csn_l08.pdf which has my make, year and model as part of this recall but they said they my car did not fit the recall specifics and no notice sent due to some specifics which they did not tell me and would not provide any assistance to repairs the vehicle on this recall or any other means .however per the notice l08 specifies the same defect and results which happened with the fan my car with this part.i can't imagine some kid looking down in the engine compartment while helping his dad and this fan blows up like a plastic bomb causing server injury or even death or while driving and the damage impairs the vehicle break line of steering line causing the car to be uncontrollable on a 85 mph toll road.this part or recall needs to be recalled and redone to include this vehicle and or pn for recall as well.june 2011dealer service instructions for:customer satisfaction notification l08engine cooling fans2006 - 2008 (lx) dodge charger, dodge magnum, and chrysler 300note: this notification applies to all of the above vehicles equipped with severe duty engine cooling (sales code nms) or vehicles equipped with (sales code xdl or xdk) with ?sold to? sales codes and/or are currently registered in warm climate states, built through april 29, 2008 (mdh 042912).the electrically powered radiator cooling fans on about 52,000 of the above vehicles may separate during fan operation and cause damage to the radiator.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.while undergoing a state inspection, the technician heard a knocking sound at 900-1000 rpm's.he stated that it may be caused by the piston rods or bearings.the dealer replaced the driver side catalytic converter, but the failure remained.the dealer will replace the short block, but the parts are currently unavailable.the contact was also informed that the transmission may need to be replaced, but this will be confirmed after further diagnosis.the failure mileage was 2,524 and current mileage was 4,320.

I was traveling north on i-95 at 70 mph in south carolina. Fuel gauge indicated 1/4 tank of gas and over 100 miles to empty. The obd light came on and the car slowed down (5-10 mph). I was able to roll it offthe road onto the right shoulder. Gas gauge indicated a 1/4 tank of fuel.i turned the ignition off and sat for15 minutes. When i attempted to start the vehicle, it acted as though it had no gas. However, the gauge showed a 1/4 tank full. Vehicle was towed (aaa) to an exxon station in gable, sc. Fuel was added to the tank and the car could be started.the addition of $25.00 of fuel (6 gallons?) did not move the gauge from the 1/4 tank level.an additional $25 fueling brought the gauge almost up to full.i drove it roughly 500 miles from sc to md without incident. However, i did not allow fuel level to drop below 1/2.

Vehicle dies while driving and wile coming to a stop in town.no check engine light.took it in to the chrysler dealership and they diagnosed a bad fuel tank.the inlet flapper on the fuel tank is defective allowing fuel to overflow the charcoal canister.this is the same problem as the 2005-2006 models that now come with a lifetime warranty on fuel tanks.i called chrysler and they are not willing to work with me to replace it or consume some of the costs, and it is a safety issue.it has dies out in the middle of an intersection 5 times and wont always re-start. Sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes, and other times it starts right back up.this recent issue happened less than two weeks after having a leak detection pump replaced.

Gas nozzle spits back fuel and is very hard to fill gas tank. And after filling car dies a few times. I know there is a gas tank issue with these cars but chrysler says they cant help. Its the x53 recall but my vehicle isn't covered. But there problem hasn't been fixed can you help me.

Car dies right after filling the gas tank. This has happened numerous times while driving at a low speed, idling away from the gas pump, or stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. Last time this happened, i was almost hit in the rear at a traffic light when the car stalled. Local chrysler dealership acknowledged the problem was a faulty part that is molded into the 19 gallon fuel tank but said my car wasn't covered. My mechanic verified that the "rollover" valve in the tank was indeed faulty. Have talked to chrysler twice about this problem but they have flatly refused any assistance even though they agreed that my car has a 19 gallon tank. I know that chrysler has already had to replace over 150k of these faulty tanks. Mine is faulty also but they will not do anything. This is a serious and dangerous situation. I have parked the car for now out of concern for safety.

Just filled up with premium 93 gas. Was heading to work & stopped at a light. Car idle became rough. Rpm's dropped & the car stalled. It took 2 tries to restart it while i was sitting at the light with traffic behind & in front of me.once started it ran fine. No obd2 codes could be found. It has done this 4 times in the last year. Brand of gas doesn't matter.

My 2007chrsler 300c was driven yesterday without any problems. It was parked in our carport and now the transimission floor shifter is stuck in park. This is the same problem as described chryslers satification notification k39, the transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook. I find that my vehicle is not covered since my vehicle was manufactured in april 2007 and the recall only covers vehicles built between june to sep 2007.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. The contact indicated that the gear shifter became stuck in the park position, rendering the vehicle inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission shifter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The operater could not get the vehicle out of park.

Car operated as expected on 7/2 and was parked in garage overnight.on 7/3 operator was able to start the car but operator could not shift out of park.the car is stuck in park and cannot be shifted into another gear.there is a current recall for this exact same issues for cars with a build date from june 25, 2007 through september 21, 2007. This recall is named k39, and the letter is attached.the build date of my car with the same problem is october 11, 2006.the suggested override method did not resolve the issue (depressing pink lever on shifter assembly).

Car would not come out of park. Left the car there overnight. Called flat bed the next day to have it towed to dealer. Called the dealer the next day and they said the tow truck driver got it out of park and it didn't duplicate the problem for the dealer.nothing fixed just had to pay a tow bill.have owned the car for six and half years now and it's only done it that one time.odd.

Cannot shift out of park.

The 300c shifter was stuck in park and would not move.i left the car parked and later that evening, the shifter moved to other gears.this occurred several times, so i took it back to the dealer informing them of the occurrences.the service rep told me that was a problem that had been occurring with the 300c models.

I came out of the store on 4/24/13, placed my bags in the car and started the car.i tried to shift the gear from park, but it would not budge.i turned the car off and on several times to make sure that the car was on.the gear shift still didn't move.i called the dealership to ask what was happening.they told me that this is a very common issue and to look up a video on youtube and it would tell me how to pop it into gear.the problem was that i had no tools.once i got the tools, the instruction from the video worked.my question is, if this is such a widespread problem as the service technician said it was, why has there not been a recall issued?as soon as i got home and parked, it locked up again.this is not safe.

Car was not able to be shifted in gear.i was in a parked status and could not pull the vehicle out of the park position.aaa was called and they could not tow me because the vehicle could not be towed because they could not get it on the flatbed.aaa dispatched another truck with a dolly and an ase certified technician who was able to pull the gear lever while pressingdown on the brakes to release a plastic pin on the linkage cable that was keeping the leaver from moving.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that while trying to shift to drive, the shift lock mechanism seized making it impossible to shift gears. The vehicle was not taken to a mechanic. The vehicle was repaired by the contact through internet research. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 84,000 and the current mileage was 86,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the gear shifter became stuck in park. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 12,000. The current mileage was 24,000.

Once i started my car and tried to move the gear to reverse to back out of a parking space and the gear would not move from park position.tried moving the steering wheel thinking it was making the gear stick but to no avail.had to eventually call a tow truck who told me that wasn't his first chrysler 300 he's had to tow for the same issue.he had to get under the car as well as go thru a panel beside the gears in order for the car to even move to be placed on the tow truck.after dropping off to the dealership, i researched to see if there were any issues with the chrysler 300 2007 series car.turns out there was a recall for some of the chryslers built from june - september 2007 for the same issue and they were able to get a recall to have the issue fixed.i got the issue fixed as well but had to pay.i contacted chrysler who told me because my car was manufactured in may 2007 that there shouldn't have been any issue and therefore not covered under the recall.clearly chrysler is wrong.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the gear shift failed to shift out of the park position. The contact planned to have the vehicle towed to an authorized dealer for repair. The manufacuter was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

I was out of town and stopped at a parking lot, and when i started to leave my car would not move out of park. I called the dealer and was told that when the shifter breaks the car must be towed for repair.just after i called the wrecker a pick-up in the same parking lot caught on fire.the business tried to evacuate the parking lot, but i was not able to leave until the wrecker arrived.thank goodness we were far enough away from the burning pick-up that there was no damage to my car, but this could have been a very different story if i was parked next to the pick-up.the dealer over-nighted the part from tulsa oklahoma and replaced the part the next morning.we were charged for towing and repair.since there have been thousands of complaints for the shifter breaking, i feel that this should have been a recall item, thus we would not have been charged.

Chrysler corp case number [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Transmission shift interlock latch broke.product was subject to recall k39 on other vins but not on mine; dealer refused to repair.chrysler refused to acknowledge issue.vehicle will not shift out of park without disabling safety features.failure left my wife stranded on the side of the road.

Car is stuck in park.cannot move shift lever out of park.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. When attempting to move the vehicle, the contact was unable to move the gear shifter out of park. The contact stated that the spring retainer brackets fractured. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,635.

The 300c (hemi) hesitates when pulling off, stopping and/or accelerating.it is a danger when merging from ramps on because it does not pull off when the accelerator is pressed; it hesitates, then take off with a lot of power causing the car to move farther to the left or right of the intended direction because of the hemi power when acceleration catches up.it is a danger and should be addressed before someone is killed or maimed if it has not already occurred.

I parked my car at a cvs pharmacy drive thru to pick up a prescription. Once the transaction was completed i attempted to leave the area and the gear would not move from the park position. I called aaa (keystone) for roadside assistance to move my car. Upon arrival to my car the aaa fleet driver informed me that the problem seems common with chrysler-made vehicles recently. He explained to me that my override button was broken and did not work, then he showed me how to remove the gear shaft cover to access the back up override - the gear release button. He noted that he just assisted a dodge charger owner with the same problem and recommended i check for any recall data for this ongoing chrysler problem. I immediately checked online to learn that there is a k39 recall for the gear shaft of 2005-2007 models of the chrysler 300. I called the nearest dealer for an appointment to address this issue. Once i arrived at the dealer, i was told that my vin number did not fit the recall requirements and told that i must pay to fix the part out of pocket. This $400 repair should have been covered by the recall, and chrysler! my car was manufactured may 23, 2007 and the "arbitrary" cut off date for the k39 recall is june 1, 2007! how can one - two weeks make that much difference?!? how can 2005 models be included yet two weeks prior not??? if the problem exists and is noted as a recall issue all vehicles that encounter the malfunction must be included in the recall!! it should be clear that the problem is systematic, not date or location specific!! this problem should be fixed at chrysler's expense, not the customer!!!

The shift level is stuck in park.with the brake pressed, it will move right but not down into gear.if i take my foot off the brake, it will not move to the right at all.the recognition of the brake be depressed appears to be working.i was 120 miles from home so i took the console apart around the gear shifter and found a cable that i could pull backwards and then was able to shift out of park.

Unable to get car out of park.drove car on 5-30, returned home parked car in garage.on 5-31-14, went to leave and cannot get car out of park.have read many complaints on this same situation.most people are not getting results.i am calling the dealership on monday, car will have to be towed.i have read about a k39 notification, but no recall that i can find.if this is a common complaint, why is there not a recall to fix.luckily i do have a 2nd vehicle to drive but most people only have one.this is an expensive car and this should not be happening.i am not happy with chrysler.

I've noticed when shifting into drive there is a noticeable delay.it also occurs when shifting from reverse to drive and vise-versa, there's is also a pause/delay that occurs when attempting to accelerate.noticeable when trying to attempt a u-turn and in the middle of traffic while waiting for the transmission to catch.once it does catch there's a instant lunge/acceleration, causing everyone in the vehicle whip flash and has caused me to be extra vigilant.although i've been experiencing this for some time i didn't know the issue was so wide spread.it is a safety issue that chrysler should be held accountable for.until this hazard/dangerous problem is rectified i will not consider chrysler for my next purchase.

Today my wife started her car and was unable to put the vehicle in drive. After doing some research online it revealed that it was a transmission shift interlocking lever issue. Chrysler is well aware about it. They even posted this pdf document online about it. Http://www.chrysler.com/webselfservice/pdf/k39.pdf i contacted chrysler about this to verify but they stated it was only for chrysler 300's built after july 2007. When i questioned why the letter was on their website they stated they could not do anything for me at this time.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300 c.the contact stated that the shifter would not shift out of park.the contact had to utilize the bypass button to release the shifter.the contact did not take the vehicle for inspection or repairs.the failure mileage was 67,000.

My 2007 chrysler 300 is stuck in park , i took it to the dealership and they said this something that is not covered under warrenty , but is does happen alot. The problem is veryto be internal to the shifter assembly. There is a pink plastic arm where the ignition interlock cable attaches in the shifter. This arm is spring loaded and can eventually break. When it does then you won't be able to move the shifter from park because the shifter doesn't know the key is turned on. The dealership want to charge to keep replacing it which mind you is not cover under warrenty. I have talked to people who have had this problem also.

My car a chrysler 300c would not come out of park. Went on the internet and seen that this was a problem since 2005.....why has chrysler not repair this problem??????

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.the contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift out of park. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 39,768.

Upshifting from 1st and downshifting from 2nd gear has a skip or rough-like bump at slow speeds.

Intermittent delay when shifting from reverse to drive, the delay can be up to 7-8 seconds during which time the car doesn't respond to throttle inputs. There is also a low rumbling noise that occurs when operating at low speeds when the engine is at idle. The problem becomes a danger when backing out into traffic or performing a three point turn, because you never know when you will end up stuck in the middle of the road unable to move with oncoming traffic bearing down on you, i have almost been hit countless times. The car has been to the dealer three times and they keep getting the same fault codes indicating a failure to communicate between shift module and transmission. Their solution has been to change the same part a shift module three times which has required them to keep my car for extended periods after which they inform me that they think the problem is fixed but don't know.

My spouse drove the vehicle to work in the morning, drove the vehicle at lunch and upon leaving her work for the day, attempted to drive home.the vehicle would start, however the gear selector would not move from the park position.even using the override on the right side of the console would allow the vehicle to move form the park position.the vehicle was towed to the dealership.the dealership was very aware of the problem stating, "it is very common, and it's not covered by the warranty as it is a mechanical linkage, not associated with the transmission or drivetrain."the dealership also related the problem may occur again.i paid for the repair (approximately $300.00) plus the cost of a rental for the day.the problem has not occurred again since the repair.

I have a 2007 chrysler 300. When i am pushing on the gas it hesitates on going, sometimes it will hesitate for a few seconds and then jerk hard. I have been dealing with this for a while! it started about a year after i got the car and it's gotten worse. It happens every time i drive it now. When it was under warranty the dealer always said it was no problem, now they want to do something to the torque in the transmission. They also updated codes and that did not work. I have had the car for over 2 years and i should not be dealing with transmission problems.

I have also pressed down on the accelerator and nothing has happened and then all of a sudden it shifted!!another complaint i have is that when driving in town and the car is in drive and the fuel saver mode their is a shudder in the transmission between 45 and 52 kilometres per hour!!this does not happen if it is not in the fuel saver mode or when you manually shift it into 4!! i have taken it to my local dealer where i bought the car and they told me that there is nothing they can do at the present moment but to get back to them if it gets any worse!!i have 76000kms on my car now and this started to happen around 70000 kms!! i have extended warranty so i keep my dealer informed of any problems so that they are able to help me out before my warranty goes off!!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.the contact stated that the gear would not release from the park position. The dealer nor manufacturer were notified of the failure.the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 45,000.

Problem # 1--2007 chrysler 300 hemi engine should be recalled for the brake shifter component.recently the car locked in park, and could not be taken out of park without using a screwdriver to release it after removing the drive shifter panel.problem #2--recently, the car started to loose power on the expressway without any warning.my speed was 60 mph and dropping.after allowing the car to coast in the far right lane the car regained power without any action on my part other than allowing the car to coast for a minute.problem # 3--this problem also occurs when shifting from neutral to reverse.the car stalls out and will not respond.the car must be shut off and back on to allow it to reset then the car will move backward once put back into reverse. Mileage on the vehicle is 79,000 miles approx..never again will i purchase a chrysler product.never!

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the gear shifter became stuck in park. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.the contact stated that the gear shift selector remained stuck in park.the dealer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The manufacturer was also informed of the failure and advised that the he would be reimbursed for any repairs. The shifter assembly was replaced by an authorized dealer.the current mileage was approximately 60,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 54,549.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. While the vehicle parked, the contact was unable to shift from park to drive. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the contact was informed that the gear shift needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

My vehicle brakes did not work & other problems with the vehicle & when i asked the dealer if there was recalls on anything they said no & i know there was some because a friend of mine has the same vehicle.

I have had to replace the front suspension 3 time so far and it is making noise again. I have never had to do this with and other car i have owned. Sometime the steering pulls making it hard to stay in my lane.

On 11/25/09, while driving to work in my 2007 chrysler 300c awd, my check engine light illuminated.on the way home from work, the steering wheel began to slip, and the front end felt out of control.i was on the highway, it was raining, and i was very scared.i slowed to about 40 mph, and pulled to the right lane.i still did not feel safe, and, given the vehicle history and the fact that i have a newborn at home, i decided to pull over and have the car towed.when i took delivery of the vehicle on 07/23/07 the steering wheel had to be adjusted, it was positioned at 10 o'clock.on 09/20/07, with 2163 miles, the car pulled, again the steering wheel had to be repositioned, and the front end was aligned.on 11/28/07 with 5130 miles, again the car pulled, again the steering wheel had to be adjusted, and again the front end was aligned.on 01/25/08 with 6863 miles, yet again the car was pulling.the dealer found that the "cradle needed to be shifted" and they adjusted the cradle.per the rep, dealer replaced 2 front tires, due to uneven wear.on 06/26/09, with 29002 miles, once again the car was pulling.dealer found "play in inner tie/rods", replaced steering rack, and aligned.i requested 2 more tires due to uneven wear, i was told tires are not covered under normal wear and tear.i do not feel this is normal wear and tear.i do not feel safe driving this vehicle, and i will not get behind the wheel again.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.the contact does not understand why the tie rods are loose at 39,000 miles.he found online that this was a common failure for the 300c.the vehicle is not under warranty; therefore, the manufacturer will not cover the cost of the repair.the contact stated that a crash could occur while driving due to the failure.the current mileage was 40,000 and failure mileage was 39,000.

Upon trying to open the driver door, the door handle came right off. The vehicle was sitting in the parking lot of super market. 44944 miles.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the outside passenger's side front and passenger's side rear door handles detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that the door handles were designed to swivel but instead were coming straight forward. The vehicle was taken to voss village cadillac, inc (650 miamisburg centerville rd, dayton, oh 45459, (937) 428-2300) where the door handles were replaced however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 14,000.

I have had to replace the front suspension 3 time so far and it is making noise again. I have never had to do this with and other car i have owned. Sometime the steering pulls making it hard to stay in my lane.

I dropped off my car to have new tires put on it. The shop called me back and said it may leak air if they put the original aluminum stem back in they don't carry chrysler parts so they suggested using a rubber stem.they said i can purchase one from auto store and have the dealer or another shop install it. When i picked up my car the tpms (tire pressure monitoring sensor) was not reading one of the tires. They said if it doesn't work by the morning to bring it back in. I brought it back and received a call 4 hrs later stating they had pulled the tire pressure monitor sensor out of the tire the day before and left it in my cup holder. They stated there is nothing they can do that i need to take it somewhere to have it fixed. The sensor works and worked when i brought it in. (they had rotated my tires a month earlier and had no issues reported at that time) they indicated they were having an issue removing the needle from the valve stem so they decided to remove the entire sensor. I am writing this because i thought it was illegal to remove a mandatory safety device and give me the car back and tell me to have another place take care of it.49 usc 30122(b).

Check tpm system shows on my dash display every 10 minutes after i start my vehicle.this started occurring after i had my tires rotated.i took it back to the dealership and the tried to do a battery disconnect after multiple calls .they could read all of the pressures by using the little wand on each tire.after multiple attempts oftrying to make them fix what they broke, they said that they do not know what the problem is and the wheel rotation must have triggered something.they started asking stupid questions that they said they got from consulting chrysler like "are you going by a tower that could be distracting your signal?"i have been driving this vehicle for 7 years and all of a sudden, i am getting a signal to distract my system.not! they kicked me to the curb and terminated my repair order even after multiple attempts of talking with the service manager and general manager.i consulted another tire service company and they could not tell why.i am at a loss and very irritated from the signal every car startup.i have since paid to have another tire rotation to see if i could change the way the sensors are reading to the main relay and it seems to have resolved the issue for now.

While driving my car just stalled twice once at a red light and took a while to restart and then when making a left turn on the road it just stalled and again it took a couple of times to restartduring irma i went outside to move my jeep wrangler to a safe spot and the car would not start. After the hurricane aaa was allowed to come and tow the car to the dealership because it was still under warranty for the jeep and they informed me that it was the tipm module so i looked this up and realized there is a problem with the tipm and i asked the dealership if there is recall because it happened twice on the chrysler 300 and they said no so hopefully it will be recalled soon so i can take it to get it fixed my mother who is 91 can not get in my jeep and uses a walker and now im afraid if i go further out of town to the doctors that car may shutdown on i75 and and cause a real big accident and i'm handicapped and on a fixed income and don't have the money to replace the tipm. This is 2 cars different years and the same thing plz recall the tipm for the models of cars. I will be also reporting my jeep but it just happened to be under warranty

The shift interlock lever had the return lever spring hook break off. This left the shifter locked in park. Luckily this happened in our driveway at home. I was able to release the shifter however the car is showing the abs light and traction control lights lit on the instrument panel. Also the seat will not fully adjust and the cruise control no longer works. There is currently a recall (k39) on this item for this year and model car, however i was informed by my dealer that my car does not fall within the build date to qualify for the recall. I have the right year and model and the same problem but my vehicle doesn't qualify. I feel that this recall should be expanded to cover all chrysler vehicles with this problem.

Engine stalls very often even while driving on thehwy. No mechanic neither the dealer has beenable to fix it.

Drove the morning of (7/22/18) , parked car , 2 hours later had to run some erands , shift would not move , locked inpark.. Had car towed to shop , partbeing ordered will take three days , approximate cost to repair 550.00 , mileage 46700 . Need transmission gear shift

Sun roof glass imploded while sitting n my driveway. Called my local police, they said since it was not vandalism, r a crime, no report. I have called my ins, n tomorrow, 10/5/15 will hopefully see n adjuster.

My vehicle brakes did not work & other problems with the vehicle & when i asked the dealer if there was recalls on anything they said no & i know there was some because a friend of mine has the same vehicle.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c.while driving 40 mph, the contact attempted to accelerate and the accelerator pedal split into two pieces.the contact did not notice any differences prior to the failure.the vehicle has been serviced by the dealer for the failure.the current mileage was 10,000 and failure mileage was 8,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300c. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. In addition, while the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact had the vehicle towed home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

2007 chrysler 300c - experienced three (3) separate incidents of accelerator failure. Accelerator would not functioning when pressed down.all three incidents occurred in cold weather spread out over 18 month time span.engine was still running but accelerator would not function.chrysler dealer checked out vehicle but could not find an error code, was unable to duplicate problem and ended up taking no corrective action.each time i had to pull over to the side of the road, turn off and restart the engine to clear the problem.the car worked fine again after restarting.fortunately each incident occurred at low speed and was controllable.problem would be very serious if it occur during attempt to accelerate into high speed traffic such as an interstate on ramp.

Car idling drops to 450rpm's then jumps to 700rpm's when at a stop without the air conditioning running. This has caused my car to lunge forward while pedestrians have been walking in front of it. If my foot is not firmly held on the brake the car could hit someone. I have been in traffic taking my foot off of the brake and the precise time the car decided to shoot up to the 700rpms almost causing me to rear end the traffic in front of me. The dealer said it was an alternator surge and the computer does not recognize any problem. The car should idle evenly at 600 to 700 rpm's i was told.
