Takata recall, fca is stalling on repairs for passenger airbag. After receiving a recall notice in may 2016, i contacted fcaseveral times to make an appointment to have my airbag repaired, each time i am told parts not available. On my last call oct.17, 2016 i was told no repairs until sometime in 2017. This is not acceptable.

Other vehicle crossed over yellow line and hit our car from the middle of the vehicle on drivers side all the way to back and knocked off the back drivers wheel and sent us spinning around into and wrapped around telephone pole.my legs were pinned under dash and couldn't move, passenger door had been badly damaged and pushed in about one foot.had to be cut out of the car to get me out, taken to er.my complaint is that none of the air bags deployed which i find quite odd.would like to know where and who to contact to find out why air bag didn't deploy.we do have lots of pictures to back up our claim.

Takata recallthis problem has been listed since 2014 and there has been no definite fix here. My vehicle in particular has been constantly chiming with a visible warning light since november 2015! this is very unsafe! i am extremely afraid to continue driving this vehicle! march of 2017 is the best chance they say we could receive a fix! i cannot even trade the car off as this is a huge loss in value. I believe some type of repercussion should be taken against the vehicle manufacturers as well as the inflator manufacturer.

Airbag indicator light in instrument cluster stays on.

Takata recall s43 - passenger airbagit's been almost a year since this recall has been known.yet parts are still not available for this fix.this is unacceptable for a defect that can cause death.is there even a time table as to when these parts will be available?this needs to be fixed soon.

2005 chrysler 300.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair front passenger airbag inflator recall notice. The consumer requested information about why the replacement parts are not available for the vehicle's airbag repair.

Nhtsa through mail advised us to take car to a chrysler dealership and have them change airbags. We did. June 14,2018. On november 3,2018 when pulling into a parking spot the airbag on the steering wheel blew up in my face injuring me and burned me and cut me. Paramedics came and i went to emergency room. Not life threatening but 2 weeks in pain and not able to work and ringing in my ears for a week. My car insurance can't do anything because there was no collusion, it went off on its own, and it's supposed to be replaced as dealership said. The airbag went off when car was turning into a parking spot slowly in motion.

Was in my father's '05 chrysler 300c, stopped at a red light. Engine shut itself off, steering column locked, and the oil pressure light came on. I turned the vehicle off and turned it back on again, and it continued to work fine. Upon searching the internet for causes to this problem, i quickly found that this is a very common problem. Lots of people have had their 300 stall on them, and apparently the computer in the car does not have a record of the system fail, or the warning lights on the dashboard coming on. The repairs appear to be in the $1200 - $2000 range. Seems like something chrysler should make their dealers fix for free, seeing as it is very clearly a manufacturer's error. Having learned of the treatment chrysler's customers receive, i will be sure not to bring my money to them when i need a car of my own.

My turn signals at first were not canceling, and then stopped working completely. However, the right turn signal is stuck in the on position and flashes continuously. Also, after driving for one mile an alert signal starts dinging continuously to let you know that your signal is still on and it never goes off. I have had to remove my turn signal bulbs completely so they would not continuously flash on the outside. This whole situation is unsafe because i do not have any use of my turn signals, and even though i use hand signals people just aren't looking for that . I have even been pulled over by the police for failing to use my turn signal even though i was using my hand signal. Also, in an emergency situation i have no use of my hazard lights(flashers). I have looked online to see if there are any similar complaints concerning chrysler 300's and i found thousands people with the same issue or in the beginning stages of thesignals failing to cancel.

Vehicle automatically shuts off in the midst of driving, within the last 2 months my vehicle has shut down on the interstate on many occassions back to back. I have had my vehicle in the shop on many occassions. I was told the cause could have been a many of things, till this day it has not been fixed, now im hearing it vould be yhe computer. I dont know but what i do know is im tired of spending money on everything i was told that it could have been n til this day it's still not fixed . I. Was put in danger a many of times me n my 4 children's lives were in danger just in the midst of traffic it shuts off,at any instant any given time i can get hit from behind due to the many times it shuts down, the vehicle automatically loses control along when that happens it is very hard to steer the wheel in a way where i can make a complete stop, making it very possible to hit anyone ongoing in other lanes ,it has been very dangeroud for me n my children.i just wish this vehicle can ne brought back so that me n y four children wouldnt be facing danger everytime we enter the vehicle, its just an everyday thing ongoing. I truly want something safe, just hope i dony have to come out of pocket no more than what i already have for the same thing and it hasnt been fixed yet. I dont want it anymore iwant this vehicle off my hands now,its not what i want anymore,me n my children have been placed in much danger because of this vehicle. I am sorry, but i truly thought this vehicle was nice, not anymore!

The main grounding wire passenger-side engine block contact point had corrosion(rust) limiting electrical current flow to the wiring harness. This caused too much current to flow to 2 smaller 16 gauge grounding wires attached to the rear of each hemi cylinder head to fry. This directly affects the ccn bus communications to the cpu. Any device, module, or sensor attached to the ccn bus can have intermittent behavior. Examples of very bad behavior in my car: 1. The alarm randomly going off while parked or when driving the car. 2. While parked and the alarm set the sunroof decided to open up during a rainstorm filling my car with 3 inches of rain. 3. The 300c doesn't use a throttle cable. It utilizes a throttle position sensor that communicates with the cpu over the ccn bus. Just touching the gas pedal was the same as pressing the gas pedal to the floor. It's a good thing that when this happened to me there was no traffic on the road and i was close to home.since this is ccn 2-wire twisted pair bus communication issue anything that communicates with the cpu can have a random intermittent problem. Since these cars are getting older i have to think that there are other cars that are or will have similar issues. Pray to god that your throttle doesn't stick wide open like mine did. I had to keep my foot buried on the brake while i was screaming down the road until i was able to turn off the ignition. Have fun coming to a stop or driving home after that happens. Formally i was an i2c bus communications(2 wire bus) expert at both intel corp and cisco systems. I know what i am talking about. Today i talked with a bremerton chrysler/dodge/jeep technical service representative about this issue. Bottom-line over $3000 to fix.there may have been somebody somewhere that is dead because of this factory defect and no one is the wiser. Why not a factory recall issue?

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted. The contact stated that the failure recurred after the vehicle was refueled. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they agreed to replace the gas tank. The failure mileage was 125,000. Updated 08/30/16*ljupdated 10/26/16.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to two independent mechanics, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. Failure codes appeared after the vehicle was retrieved. Lithia chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat of santa fe (4470 cerrillos rd, santa fe, nm 87507, (505) 629-0746) stated that there appeared to be an electrical failure and were checking all the wiring on the harness with multiple codes appearing. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 81,000. The vin was unknown.

I had just completed a fuel fill-up and upon driving away from the pump the engine died, losing all power.with 3-4 attempted restarts the car moved for short distances and repeatedly died.when it did restart, the engine would not engage in drive.eventually, the car would run normally and would continue to run until the next fill up.the latest incident (after 3 incidents) occurred feb 4, 2014.after my mechanic was able to duplicate the incident on feb 7 and discovered that this problem has occurred multiple times to other vehicles.chrysler corp should have issued a recall in my opinion.

Vehicle suddenly lost all power while driving.. Brake, engine , steering capability, lights, air bag came on, lights faded and finally stopped in middle of road and cold not start again

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c.the contact stated that after refueling to capacity, the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, the battery exploded on a separate occasion. The failures occurred without any warning.the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 38,200.

I am an auto tech at dealership in ks. After 3 repeated incidents, i decided to take action. On either side of the front bumper the fog lights get hot and eventually detach from the lens. The 2nd and 3rd time i have noticed scorching on the vehicle's front bumper where the bulbs started to melt the material. The 4th vehicle caught fire to the bumper and it spread to the engine. This could have been worse without anybody attending the vehicle and more in a house garage. It did not take very long to melt and ignite.

Car stalls with no warning or engine lights/codes. While driving(very dangerous!!)

Lighting problems.

I was driving to work and the lights turn off and turn back on. This has occur on many times. I return the vehicle to the dealer and they suppose to had theecu. That work for a couple of months. I return to thedealer on several times and they has continues to tell me they can't find no problem. Now i am having problems with my nav system and the radio lightning.

Late 2004 when i first bought car new went to pick up car horn did not work ,repaired under warranty always hard to push on steering wheel never was right, to date horn does not work 6/16/2014.

The contact owned a 2005 chrysler 300c. While driving approximately 55 mph, the entire instrument panel failed and the contact smelled a strong burning odor inside the vehicle. The contact pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed smoke and large flames coming from the trunk. The fuel tank exploded and the vehicle became engulfed in flames. There were no injuries. The fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 134,646.

Parking sensors have failed and i crashed into a pole while parking.

While driving my vehicle in january of 2015 it shut off. Stopped car and restarted it but kept shutting off. Got home and disconnected battery while engine was running and car shut off. Changed battery and alternator. Today 5/11/15, while driving i put a/c on and car shut off. Got car home and analyzed problem. While engine is running car idles low then shuts off. However when a/c is on or off car shuts off. Any recalls? very frustrated!

Driving at night on a rural divided highway at approx 65mphall external lights go out.all dash, navigation, and warning lights turn on full brightness.could not see outside.had to come to an immediate stop.restarted vehicle and lights operated normally.has happened several times since.seems to happen often more when cold outside.

Filled up at costco and immediately after leaving the car stalled, restarted and stalled five more times in three miles. The stalling does create a dangerous driving situation.

It began when i started pumping gas after it reach like 10 gallons of fuel the clicker will stop as if it was full tank already but still needed a long way to fill up so i automatically began to pump gas and it kept clicking and clicking it didn't want to keep pumping so i stop as i began driving the car began to pulled it self hard like if it was running out of gas check engine and the esp bas light when on started to smell like gas got me worriedwhen onit kept doing it so i took it in to the dealer and they told me it was the egr valve ,thermostat and spark plugs needed to be repair i asked if their was a recall because i have received a later stating that something that's has to do with the gas tank,he looked it up and he said no. I did the labor that needed to be done to car it was ok for couple hrs then it began to do the same thing lunging then car stalled try to restarted it wouldn't go on waited couple mins tried again and it wouldn't start gave it a lil longer time then try to turn it on again and it finally started after multiple times i really need to fix it i find it dangerous..

Hood prop both sides, same for the trunk, driver side door handle, struts and rotors! hit in the head from trunk. This car has been serviced and has 157,000 miles2005 hemi. This is a recall on props for sure! looking to hear from you soon!!!replaced tire rods and the dealership said i should have called and filed for recalls.

I had this happen several times after i would fill up with gas. At about 30mph or when i would come to a stop and then try to accellerate the car would stall and cut off. Would then try and restart the car after several attempts it would finially restart. Sometimes when i would reach speeds of 55mph it would cut off and i would have to steer with the best of my ability to pull to the side of the highway. Finially i just took it to the chrysler dealer and had them put a new evap canister on it and new trottle something on it 600+ dollars.

A/c has never ran cold since we purchased this vehicle, we went to the dealer numerous times over the years to see if it was a recall on this vehicle, but each time the dealer claimed no recall on the 2005 chrysler 300c a/c system, we even checked the web for recalls but we found nothing. I found the problem myself in july 2005, it seems that this vehicle came with bad schrader valves high and low, over the years i just added freon, but now the leak is so bad it won't hold a charge more than 5 days, went back to the dealer who claimed the a/c system was not under warranty and we would have to pay for a full evac of the system, replacement of the bad schrader valves plus labor and taxes. We choose not to have the work done because of the expense involved. Over the years we have had to replace both lower tie rod ends, the tie rod ends that came with the vehicle look really cheap as well as the after market parts. We had the stability control system worked on twice, each time just before the stability light come on we notice the dash lights flicker constantly, the dash lights has always flickered on this vehicle. The dealer was notified of this problem, but claims replacing the stability part in the steering column would resolve this issue, as of today june 20, 2012 the dash lights are flickering again which means another trip to the dealer.

While driving i smelled a "sweet odor" & noticed had risen & all of a sud the heat indicator had risen & all of a sudden the car stopped running.i sat for 20 minutes & attempted to start again to no avail.i waited an hour, ntried again & no luck. So i left the car & on monday contacted the service station who inspected the car & informed me it had thrown a piston & my whole motor would need to be repaired or replaced.charge was $3104.94 + car rental.i had an extended warranty which i purchased when i bought the car & it expired at 60,000miles.i ask chrysler motor co if they know of any reason this would occur & if they would grant any portion of this expense?thank you

Vehicle suddenly lost all power while driving.. Brake, engine , steering capability, lights, air bag came on, lights faded and finally stopped in middle of road and cold not start again

While dropping my grandchildren off home.my chrysler 300c hemi engine after shut off did not restart.after having the car towed to a repair shop, it was stated that the valve seat drop, cause damage to the piston.a review of information online reviewed that this was a known problem.

After i filled the gas tank, i started the engine, less than a minute later the car stalled. It stalled twice before i left the gas station and as i was turning into traffic. It stalled again several times after i pulled into a side street to get out of the main traffic area. After a few minutes of the engine running and driving at low speed, the stalling stopped. I will include, i did not overfill, i never do.now it happens every time i fill up the tank.this is a safety issue as i almost got rear ended twice and hope you can do something to resolve this matter.

The most recent incident i experienced was the gearshift getting stuck in park. Luckily i wasn't too far from home when this happened. I'm waiting for a dealer to diagnose the problem. I have also had issues with my car cutting off after filling my gas tank. The dealer suggested that i not fill the gas tank to the full line. So far this has worked but there needs to be a permanent fix for this problem. Along with the car cutting off my driver side mirror dimmer is not functioning properly. The mirror has an orange tint to it and when i look at it the images are blurred. There are list of other issues i've had with this car but i would be typing all day.

I filled the tank and the vehcile stalled several times the next few miles. Especially after right turns, like when merging onto freeways. This happens now every time when i fill the tank. Very dangerous. From web forums i understand gas is getting sucked into the evap system because a check valve at the gas-filler neck doesn't work. What a pain! i replaced the evap solenoid, that didn't help...the problem at the gas tank filler-neck check valve.

The cylinder valve seat fell off the cylinder head, then fell down into the piston causing damage to the valves and piston thus the only repair possible is to replace the engine. Not sure when this happened because there were no warning signs.

This problem only after fill the gas tank. After pulling away from the pump and pulling into traffic the car died and won't start until you put in park. This happens until some of the fuel has been used up. I would have it happen make it home. Then the next time i drive it the car will die until its been driven enough to use up some fuel. This dangerous because it happen as you slow down or start up. I have had it die while turning and lose all controls because it dies! the only way to combat this is to not fill the tank. That works if i drive the car but my family members forget that and have lost control also!this has been going on for 3 years! dangerous

Driving down the road it dies in traffic and the steering wheel gets stiff and doesnt let u turn itshut it off it starts right back up nothings wrong with it this is a serious deal driving in traffic also lights dim changed battery it helps but eventually goes back to doing and as your driving down road the car acts like it doesnt wanna go then it accelerates on its own i just want my car fixed i love this car everywere ive searched and taken to they say its the tpim

Oil light came on at slow speed and engine shut off by it self, on a city street. Why?

I purchased this 2005 chrysler 300c on november 20, 2013 from hoover chrysler dealership and ever since then the car has been stalling out every time i get gas and i do not over fill my tank but do fill it up to almost full. Anyways this problem can cause serious injuries i've had it stall out on the highway and all going at high speeds. I can't believe that this car is doing this i traded my 2010 dodge charger sxt which wasn't the hemi for a hemi and feel like i got a worst engine. Anyways i really hope this problem is fixed by chrysler i've spent alot on repairs and this isn't fair that the buyer has to deal with this type of problem i've owned plenty of cars and never have had this happen so obviously chrysler is responsible!

After fueling the car, it stalled unexpectedly.this was about 30,000 miles ago.the problem has gotten more frequent.now, at 137,000 miles, the car always stalls or tries to stall after fueling.i have adapted to the problem by always fueling up at a station that is adjacent to an onramp.i get the car onto the freeway right away and run it at 65 or so mph.... To fast for the car to stall.it just runs rough for a few seconds every few minutes for 5 or 10 minutes, then runs fine.it is probably unwise to put a car on the road with a known stall problem, but i could say the same thing about the people at chrysler.

We purchased our 2005 chrysler 300c on may 24, 2013 with 49,755 miles on vehicle. We picked up vehicle on may 25th from dealer and went to gas station to fill up gas tank. Upon leaving the gas station the car stalled and lost all power. Tried to restart vehicle and after two times it started again but still chugged and wouldn't pick up speed. This continued to happen until after the car was driven for about 10 miles. This did not happen again right away and after reading owners manual we just thought maybe it had been sitting long at dealer or something.on june 17th we again had to fill up the gas tank and upon doing so the same thing happened with the stalling, chugging and just not running correctly. While turning left the car stalled again and i had a very hard time restarting. In the mean while other cars were coming at me from both behind me and in front of me. This really scared me so i called a local chrysler dealership and was told that they had no idea what it could be and we should bring it in. At that point i decided to look on internet to check for recalls and ended up finding the numerous complaints from people having the exact same issue with their 2005 chrysler 300c as we have. The only way to solve this very dangerous problem is to either not fill the tank all the way or have a new tank installed at a cost of anywhere from $1500.00 all the way up to $2500.00 which is ridiculous considering this really seems to be a manufacturing defect on chrysler's part. Is it going to take a serious accident possibly leading in a death for chrysler to act on this problem? this is a very dangerous issue and will eventually cause a fatal accident.

Engine stalls after filling up the gas tank.currently i can not fill up the gas tank and if i do the engine will stall and die.last occurrence i was decelerating due to traffic to around 30-35 mph.the engine died during the deceleration.the traffic had picked up to 50-55 mph and i could not start the car so i had to pull off the road.if this had been in a location that i could not pull off the road i could have been in a serious accident.to compound the issue i can not go from neutral start the car and then into drive.the transmission will not shift into drive.i have to pull over and go into park before drive to get it to work.

I was going to check the oil level when the top of the dipstick came off in my hand. It is made of plastic.; i was opening the drivers door, the handle came halfway off, subsequently all handles have done the same thing. The washer fluid does not spray. These problems all happened in the past 3 or 4 years. The vehicle was stationary for these problems.while turning, the steering wheel would not continue too turn, heard a " thunk", finally turned but the turn signal mechanism does not work now.

Whenever i do a quick acceleration, my check engine light comes on and the car temporarily lose power.when the car lose power, i cannot control it, which is very dangerous.when the check engine light comes on no codes are stored.also, i have experience this problem while sitting at a red light.for the most part, this problemmostly occur during acceleration.i have had the spark plugs replaced and throttle body cleaned but the problem presist.from my research, this problem appears to be regular throughout the chrysler/dodge family.this problem needs to be rectified before someone lose their life in an unnecessary accident.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred several times and immediately after refueling. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 86,000.

Dropped intake valve seats on this hemi engine.based on my research, this is a known problem on the hemi engines from this time period.stopped at the store for 20 minutes, came out and tried to start the engine and all i heard was metal on metal as the engine tried to turn over.engine needs to be rebuilt or need to buy another rebuilt engine.

A couple months back the engine shut down going down the road, computer checked showing the heat sensor went bad ,had it replaced and also installed a new thermostat just in case. Yesterday 12/6 2018 took the car out and went to the outlets roughly 25 miles away car ran great . Stop for gas on the way back a mile from home, left the station went a 1/4 mile the car shut down again, started right back up went another 1/2 mile and it shut down again, started right back up and went1/4 mile to the house. Had my son in law who is a mechanic do a computer check and nothing shows up. Car has 38777 miles on it and garage kept, little dangerous since u loose the steering and brakes when it shuts down, fortunately for me i had a place to pull over to get off the highway. Checking with the dealership tomorrow to see if others had this problem. Had a very similar problem with my chryler crossfireyears back where the car would not accelerate had some close calls at stop signshad to replace the complete acceleration unite had less than 4000 miles on the car but the car was out of warranty cost me over $300 but the engine didn't shut down like this one.was on a town street when it shut off

Car had been running fine. All routine maintenance done regularly. Came home tuesday night. Attempted to start car next morning would crank but not turn over. Car was towed to shop and mechanic advised no compression on #3 cylinder. Engine needs to be rebuilt. How can a car run fine one day and with no warning indicator alerts and no trouble running need a new engine the next? mechanic states possible valve spring came apart.

Every time i completely fill my tank my car will occasionally stall at traffic lights or driving. After a few times restarting the engine it will be fine until i fill the tank again. It seems to happen mostly when the tank goes below 1 quarter of the tank. I have seen complaints before from other makes about a fuel float valve in the tank that can send a signal to your computer that the tank is empty and shut the engine off. Why is this not a recall for this model? there is definitely a danger in traffic situations.

My car stalls while driving periodically stalls when the car is at idle. It even stallls going down the highway at speeds 65. We have changed everything possible except the engine. The car starts right up after stall but will stall in traffic. I have looked at many forums and they all say the same thing numerous complaints of car shutting off while driving. I have checked all recalls. This is a major safety concern. This happens everyday.

The vehicle will stall out several times after filling the tank with gas and it only stalls out after filling the tank.vehicle will stall when stopped or when the rpm is low.the problem is the vapor/liquid separator valve located at the top of the fuel tank. The valve is designed to prevent liquid fuel from entering the charcoal canister/emissions system. When the valve fails, liquid gas can enter the line and fill the charcoal canister. After refueling the pcm on the vehicle detects a change in fuel level. Then, when the engine meets certain temperature and driving criteria, the pcm issues a purge command to the charcoal canister to remove the stored gas vapors. It's at that point that all the liquid gas in the line gets sucked into the charcoal canister. The pcm expects to see gas vapors entering the intake manifold and it is prepared to adjust air/fuel mixtures to compensate. However, it is not prepared to see liquid gas coming into the intake. That's what causes the engine to stall.this can be a very dangerous situation with the vehicle on the road in traffic.i've read in multiple online forums this same situation is happening to many on the chrysler 300c early year models.hopefully a recall will be created to resolve this situation.

Warning dash lights/signals (service engine, oil, esp. Service break assist system , speedometer fluxuated etc) engine stalled. I could have easily been rear ended had there been other vehicles behind me. This happened a couple more times since that date. On 7/22/15 took vehicle to chrysler dealership , neward de. For them to check and fix. On 7/31/15 dealership called me stated problem was fixed they had replacedpts module and shifter. I didn't even get it off the lot, started vehicle up and above mentioned lights came on again. The mechanic (drove) and i went for a test drive. Service engine and other dash warning lights came on. Mechanic took car back to shop stated he reset some codes and vehicle was fixed. I was charged $868.00 for said repair and oil change. I drove vehicle off lot.... About two minutes into driving same problems occurred and vehilce stalled again. Took vehicle back to dealer.. Still there. They state they are trying to find the problem.. While checking the web i found that many,,, many of these car owners have reported this same problem which is an extremely dangerous issue and yet no recall.. I don't understand why. Do people have to die first before something is done about this. Please take some action on this.

Hi,when fueling the 2005 chrysler 300c to full, the car will drive and stall randomly. It's unpredictable and happens each time you fill the tank. It's repetitive and can be duplicated always. It's certainly very hazardous to drive, and i have almost been hit twice trying to enter the roadway when it stalls, and it takes a min to actually get it started again if it actually does start. This has been happening since around the 50k mile mark. This needs your immediate attention, and quite many 300c owners have this same very problem.

On 3 separate occasions immediately following filling with gas, the engine died within 2 blocks of the gas station.no check engine light was displayed on any of the 3 occasions and the car was extremely difficult to restart, requiring at least 30 seconds.also, after restart on all 3 occasions, the engine ran very rough for 1-2 miles and then ran smoothly.on 1 of the occasions, the car died the next day after only driving a few blocks from home.after the first occurrence, the spark plugs were changed, the throttle body was cleaned, the vapor canister was replaced, and the evaporation system solenoid was replaced.on 1 of the occasions, the gas tank was topped off beyond the initial shut-off by several tenths of a gallon.after the 3rd occurrence (70,796 miles),the car was taken to the olathe chrysler dealership and diagnosed as needing to replace the gas tank (2/20/2013).the cost was $1583.58.since then, the vehicle now has 72,062 miles ... Approximately 1200 miles since replacing the gas tank ... And has not died following filling with gas (6 times).

After filling the vehicle with gasoline it surges while gong down the road then dies. Vehicle restarts, may surge and die again, then drives normally tell next gas fill up.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. While driving at approximately 45 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact stated that there was an abnormal noise coming from the rear passenger side wheel of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 73,000.

I was driving home from work in a residential area around my home going about 25-27mph. I came to a stop and my car literally went up in white smoke, leaked large amounts of oil and than the car shut off, at time i didn't know what the problem was and have been till this day taking it to many repair shops to have what they thought was wrong fixed until i finally took it to engine specialist and said engine blew. I have not had car more than 3 years and chrysler doesn't want to do anything about and refuse to help. It is not fair to us who pay so much money on a car that chrysler them self told me was a big issue in the 2005 chrysler 300c 5.7 v8 hemi having engine failure and don't even recommend people to buy this paticular model of car.. Please help i don't know what to do and think these engines should be recalled and chrysler should be forced to fix them.

Car stalls after full or partial fill-up at gas station.very dangerous if stall occurs when in freeway traffic or when making turns in front of oncoming traffic!!

I filled the tank up to full like i had many times before. I have always preferred relying on gallons and not the automatic pump shut off to know when it was full to prevent a possible overfilling. I had gone maybe 10 yards after restarting and she stalled. Tried to crank her back up, and she would sputter and try to start, but it took a few tries. Then, as i am pulling into the street, it died again but started right back up. Then it died 10 yards later, again. It continued to stall every few feet until i was able to get the rpms up and hold it in 1st and 2nd gear to attempt and burn up as much fuel as quickly as possible. However, coming to a complete stop anytime for the next 15 miles or so would cause a stall but always followed with an immediate start up. When it stalls that very first time it takes a few minutes for it to start and then it is very rough for a few miles. Since that day anytime i fill up to within about a gallon of maximum capacity it will start the stalling process all over again. Combine bad gas mileage with a tank that can't be filled and it's safe to assume i spend a lot of time at gas stations.

My chrysler 300c has 114,805 miles on it.i drove it to the gas station before going home.filled it up with gas.went to start it up and it wouldn't.i had to have it towed to the shop.the outside temperature last night was 63.the engine temperature was normal.there were no warning signs.the car drove fine all the way from my office to the gas station which is 33 miles.mechanic says the valve seat has dropped and the engine is completely ruined now. I now have to pay almost $7,000 to get my car driveable again.

Every time i fill my gas tank up the car oil light comes on and it stalls. Sometimes it does this 2 or 3 times then it runs ok until its time to fill car up again, then the same thing happens.

This issue has happened to me multiple times. I am just driving down the road and the engine stalls. When this happens i loose my power steering and have to try to get to the side of the road. Once i put the car in park and turn it off it will then restart. This has happened at speeds from10-70. The second issue is sometimes the car lunges forward on its own or accelerates much more than what i am pressing the gas pedal. I have talked to other owners of these cars and we all seem to be having the same problems but when we take it to mechanics since it doesn't happen when they test drive it they can't tell us what's wrong. I have had some very close calls with these issues and came very close to being involved in accidents. I am sure there have been accidents caused by these same issues but it might not have been traced back to the car, it was probably thought that it was driver error.

I read about this in the paper on 5-13-2013. After filling up , i started driving in 3 lanes of heavy trafficgoing about 55.the car suddenly stopped. The engine shut down. I was lucky i didn't get hit by one of the other cars. This happend several other times after that. I went to the dealer and they said they had never heard of such a thing. They said i must have topped off the gas. I said no. They said then do not put so much gas in at once.well they just blew me off. I really think this matter needs to be addressed now, before it is too late for someone.

Engine stalled at slow speed immediately after filling up with gas.engine was somewhat difficult to restart because it was flooded.engine stalling happened at least five times before enough gas was burned off to prevent the condition.numerous reports on the internet indicate this is a common problem and happens when raw fuel from the evaporative system is ingested through the throttle body.the evaporative system should only convey fumes but a failure allows it to carry raw fuel to the throttle body.this condition has the potential to be very dangerous.given the number of complaints a safety recall should be instigated to ensure that raw fuel can never reach the throttle body via the evaporative system.

New engine installed in 2008:every time, after i put fuel into the gas tank and drive away, the engine surges and then stalls multiple times during the 15 min trip home.at times the car surges forward and i have to break to avoid hitting a car in front of me.my car is a 2005 chrysler 300 hemi with a new engine installed in 2008.my original engine was flooded with water, hence the replacement.

Whenever i fill up at the gas station about 2-3 minutes later while i'm driving the entire dash board will light up and the car will cut completely off.i have to put in in park and try to restart it about 5 times, each time the oil light comes on and it just stalls, once it does catch the speed fluctuates up and down but about 5 minutes later it happens all over again.i know it has nothing to do with the oil because i had gotten an oil change before i put the gas in the car.this had happened a couple of years ago so i had just stopped filling the car up and this time i forgot.the car cuts off while in motion, you can't turn the steering wheel, it just stops where ever you are,all i could do was cut on the hazards and keep trying to restart it, it sounds like you are trying to restart while it's already on, it makes a screeching sound, and sounds like it's trying to catch.

We were on a cross-country trip and one night we had just filled up and went across the parking lot to a fast food window and while getting our food the car starting jerking and died.it was hard to start but finally we were able to go a little further and it died at our hotel. The rest of the way home whenever we filled up the car would stall several times.it stopped for awhile but recently has started dying again when i fill up. Last night i filled up and the car died several times in traffic. We do not overfill and tighten the gas cap tightly.

After fill up, the car stalls at slow speed 3 - 4 times before staying running.this has happened for several years not dependent on type of gas, weather, overfill, etc.very dangerous. Consequently we only fill the car to 3/4 full.

When i bought the car at bredemann's cheverolet last tuesday, they forgot to fill up the tank so i took the car back today to get filled up. After they filled up the tank i went on my way and before i can get on the road the engine died. I restarted it and it stayed on a bit then died again. After a few times of this the car eventually started and seemed okay so i got on the road, after driving a few feet the engine died in the middle of the road. So i restarted it again and turned around and went back to the dealership. The salesman took a look at it and we drove the car around the lot a few times and it seemed okay so i thought wow, that was weird...i thank the salesman and went on my way i got a few blocks and the car died again in the middle of the road. It's a pretty scary feeling because it would die all of us sudden while driving. I just bought this car. I've been reading reports and forums all day today and it looks like this is a common problem with this type of car. Would this be part of a recall or would i be responsible to fix this. I can't afford big repairs right now, considering i've just put down cash to buy this car.

Filled the car with gas and the car died within 5 minutes of the gas station.restarted the car and had the same thing happen two more times.this has since happened after ever fill up since.we bought thisvehicle may 1st 2015. The issues with it dying started happening the very first fill up.we just figured it was a vapor lock but after reading the compliants, oviously not.this needs to be recalled as someone is going to hurt.

Vehicle stalls after refilling the fuel tank - usually once within two blocks of the service station.sometimes this has happened twice.once it has been driven a few miles, then the stalling problem goes away.i contacted the dealer but they have no idea why this is happening nor how to remedy the situation.

Car stalls with no warning or engine lights/codes. While driving(very dangerous!!)

I have a hemi engine. Within the last year it started stalling on me when my gas tank was on empty and i filed it up. On the freeway a few times and it stalls!! i took to different shops and they could not figure out. Now my problem is getting worse. It stalls on me multiple times after gas. It spit and jerks. Completely dangerous. I am a accident injury adjuster that does claims everyday all day, and if i get into an accident because of this , i will sue both chrysler and nhtsa. Someone please respond as i am getting very frustrated and want this covered under warranty.

Just fueled the car and leaving the service station and the car stalled. Vehicle kept stalling as i attempted to drive it and shut off in the middle of traffic. Had to be towed. Also, each time i have filled the car up since, the same thing happens. The car sputters, shuts down. Once restarted i have to rev the gas and blow the engine for several minutes to get the gas flowing in a manner to drive the vehicle.

When i completely fill my gas tank, my car will stall for the first couple miles at idle speeds.so every time i stop at a light, i basically have to restart my car for a mile or two until some gas is used.sometimes, i have to take the key out completely and restart the car as the car won't go into gear (ie: the gears need to reset).this problem was occurring periodically while the care was still under warranty, but they couldn't figure it out.for the past several years, it does it every time i fill the tank completely with gas.i have a son and daughter that are starting to drive this year, and it makes me nervous to let them drive this car.there should have been a recall long ago as there are many other owners experiencing the same problem.i was also wondering, if i pay the $1,500 to put in a new gas tank and there ultimately is a recall, will i be able to get reimbursed?that would be very useful information.thank you.

After filling gas tank, engine would repeately stall (at idle or at 40 mph) up to 6 times within 2+ miles..incident did not seem to occur if the tank was not full.

I have a chrysler 300c 2005. The car stalled 4 times on the freeway for no apparent reason. It seems to be when i was in traffic and i would slow down to about 30-40 mph and then the car would stall. Very dangerous. The steering would lock up and i would have to put the car in park to start the car again. Not something you would want to have happen with your family in the car.

After filling up my car with gas the car stalls.this has happened several times after filling up and is a safety concern.the car stalls when driving at any speed.car restarts but if on highway all power is lost - safety concern.

Normal day driving my vehicle. Drove approximately 24 miles to a shopping center in the city. Turned the ignition car started as expected. Car then died unexpectedly. Attempted to get it started to no avail. Called a tow truck and had the vehicle taken to a trusted ase certified mechanic a couple miles away. Get a call later stating the engine is damaged! mechanic stated that these cars are well known for dropping valves. I proceed to ask what's the damage? these words i would learn to regret... I was given a quote of $4000-$7000 depending on how many parts were affected by this one failed piece. Thousands of people in forums are having this issue also. How is it a company doesn't acknowledge a major problem like this and get away with it? i was forced to get a $6000 loan to fix a car with 101k... Yea 1,000 miles over warranty! chrysler needs to own up to this problem.

Vehicle stalls one or more times after refueling, particularly while decelerating.vehicle may then lurch several times before resuming normal operation, which usually occurs after 5-10 minutes of driving.problem is intermittent but ongoing. Mechanic has not been able to resolve problem.

2005 chrysler 300 hemi 5.7.if you almost fill gas tank, the car will stall out without warning for approximately two days. I have asked the local dealer. They show no tsb or recall. This is not safe. I have seen many articles about this on the internet.

In reference to pe13016, the action refers to cars from model years 2005 and 2006.yet, the final investigation results only include the 2006 model year?if 2005 cars are affected (as mine has been since 2011 and is documented in 300c user forums on the internet by me at the time), then why is my car not included?i understand that now, some owners are receiving "lifetime warranty" letters for the 19-gal gas tank that is the cause of the sudden stalls after filling up with gas.i have not received a letter, yet my car does have (and was found by the nhtsa that 2005 model year was affect) the problem.it is very dangerous and now i have to remember to not fill up the gas tank everytime. I called my local chrysler repair shop and they confirmed my vin is not included, yet i have had the problem for almost 3 years.please advise me (in writing or by phone) as to why you found 2005 cars problematic, yet only included 2006 cars in your final investigation summary to be affected.

Every time after gas fill up from the first time in dec 2012 to now, this car stalls after fill up.i purchased this car new in may 2004 from chrysler dealer and all service has been with bosak chrysler.i was thinking gas filters, but until i checked here to find out if there was any recall, found that too many others have this same problem.i don't see any notifications filed by chrysler, are we all to assume that chrysler is not attempting to address this situation.

Car stalls out after refueling, keeps dying 4 to 5 times after filling up.

Car stalls when coming to a stop , hard to restart only after fill up at gas station with full tank of gas, reaches 3/4 tank of gas car runs fine.

My 2005 300c 5.7l randomly shuts off for a split second than start again if i'm moving. I'm i'm at low speed below 10 or at a stop the car with die. I can restart but it can take a second to go back in gear. I've seen many people with the same issue but noone has had a good fix. This is not only after fueling with my car it can happen at anytime and seems to happen when i try to accelerate hard while at higher speeds. 60+.

Filled up at gas station. Did not "top off" tank. Allowed it to stop on its own. Car died unexpectedly pulling out of gas station into traffic. Died twice again on way home.

Car dies after fueling. It will sputter then die, it will also die while coming to a stop.after refueling it sputters and dies at gas station but it can happen within the next couple of miles.it will die while pulling out in traffic and extremely dangerous.reading on line this is a common problem and no one can figure it out. It also will not always go back into gear after it dies.

I purchased my chrysler 300c on 1/8/2014.i left the dealership with an almost full tank of gas and experienced no problems until the next fill up.right after filling up my gas tank, and making sure not to top it off as the manual suggests, i suddenly experienced the car jerking, almost like a down shift feeling, and then it stalled.i was just leaving the gas station.i drove another mile and then made a turn into my subdivision and it did it again.i immediately called the dealership and took it in to have them check it out.they supposedly hooked it up to the computer and said that nothing was detected.they asked if any lights came on andi told them only the oil light.they test drove it and said there was nothing wrong.the next couple of times i filled up i used a prepaid gas card which didn't totally fill up my tank so i didn't experience any problems.today i filled my tank, this time my husband was in the car and as soon as we left the gas station the car started jerking, like a sudden downshift....finally, i had a witness!we drove about 5 miles to a car wash, and upon approaching the entrance it stalled again!i started the car again to enter the wash and once it was in neutral it stalled again.i am very nervous and scared to drive my car!!! why isn't there a recall to fix this problem?

After refueling, engine stops running at low speed or idle. Engine restarts immediately. After several miles and 4 or 5 restarts engine runs smoothly. Dangerous because of loss of acceleration, steering and braking.

Takata recall , so i take care of my chrysler 300c 5.7 very well i always check the fluids on the coolent and oil and change my oil when its needed. I was running out of gas on the freeway barely making it to the gas station and i filled up my gas tank, when i tried to starting my car it didnt start. My car just hesitated and i thought my battery was going out but it was a brand new one and my fuel pump was changed a few months prior. Also i took my car to get serviced a week prior too at my local pepboys and changed the oil pressure sensor at least thats what they told me what it was. So my car started in the gas station parkinglot and white smoke came out of my exhaust and my car just turned off on me. My car is sitting now collecting dust because it dropped a valve due to the 2005 5.7 hemi design. I believe dodge and chrysler know about this malfunction thats bond to happen whether you take care of your engine or not. I deserve to have a recall on my car , im almost done paying it off and its not my fault this happened to me.

This car will stall at completely random intervals. It has done it at speed, on acceleration, on deceleration, at stops. Occasionally the cruise control will not function correctly. The car will also spit, sputter and buck at speeds above 35mph. When this happens, there is a total loss of power steering, brakes, etc. In order to restart the car, it requires being placed into neutral or park, and trying at least 3 times before engine will run again. The car will usually continue to stall 3-10 times. On returning to "drive" the car will usually stay stationary for another 5-10 seconds before surging forward. Reverse does not have this effect.car has been checked by several mechanics, who can pull no codes, and don't seem to have any clue what is causing the intermittent issue. It is very dangerous situation, as there is no warning the car is about to stall, and there is no pattern to when it will stall. In googling the issue, i was able to find the chrysler campaign x53 extended warranty on "some" 2006 300cs, but when i called the chrysler dealer to check my vin, i was told my car is not covered under this known defective gas tank. The message boards have many instances of people describing this exact issue for this exact car. This a seriously life threatening issue.

After fueling up my chrysler 300c, my car stalled and completely shut down (approximately 2 miles after fill up).luckily, i was in the parking lot of my work at the time, so i was only going 5-10 mph.unfortunately, the power steering completely froze and i was unable to park the car, so the car was resting in the right-of-way of other cars driving in the lot.also, i came two inches from hitting a tree since i could not steer the car away from any objects in my path. Thank goodness the breaks still worked. I was unable to restart the car for a few minutes.after approx. 10 minutes of resting the car in the middle of the parking lot, the car restarted with a "pop" noise.once we got the car started, i was able to park it in a safe spot.i am now afraid to drive my car, especially in traffic or on the freeway at higher rates of speed.i am a single mom with two young kids and it really has me freaked out to think that we could be involved in an accident should this happen again. Obviously, the safety of my children, myself and any other innocent person on the road has me concerned.i'm the original owner, and i never topped off the tank.please recall the fuel tank on these cars as they are not safe.also, please include the 2005 year in your investigation.

My wife was taking our two kids to school when the car made a horrible noise when first trying to start the car early in the morning. I had it towed to my mechanic where he found that the cylinder valve seat fell off the cylinder head and fell down into the piston causing severe damage to the valves and piston. Replacing the engine for $8000 was an option, however you are replacing it with the same type of engine that couldpotentially replicate the problem again. After researching this seems to be a manufactures defect of this engine for 2005-2006 chrysler 300 c. This happened 4 months after my warranty expired.

When filling up the car, when i come to an idle...the car dies. Happens every time we fill up the car and happens multiple times after it's filled.when we don't fill up the car, it never happens. We called our chrysler dealership and the service department said that chrysler is having trouble with it and they have several complaints however there is no recall on the complaint.

I i have two chryslers and both of them had the shifters freeze on them they recalled the covertable but not the 300c my friend called me yesterday he has the magnum and his shifter froze from what i is that almost all the shifters are freezing and chrysler is not recalling then but charging the custormers to replace them besides the towing fee because you cant move the cars once the shifter freezes.

I rear endeda car.the headlight was replaced and now my head lights blink while i am driving at night.progressive insurance or the mechanic will not take responsibility.my 2005 chrysler300 c also shuts off while i am driving.my local dealer delray motors. Where do i turn? or chrysler will not fix it .my windows wont go down my air bag light flashes on and off.please tell me what to do.i also emailed the national hwy safety company, but still no response.

Vehicle was in motion got pulled over on way home from work for tail lights being ot. Officer gave me a verbal warning and brought into dealership following day.

While driving, (and while stationary/engine on) the head light turn completely off...then the lights flicker off and on: the interior panel also flickers off and on when the head lights turn off and flicker.this problem first started march 2015 sporadically (3x a week) now it happens every time car is on..

Drivers side headlight does not work.we have changed the bulb , even tried one that did work from the left side .on blogs people are complaining of the same issue on the drivers side , therefore i wonder if others have reported it like myself .the air bag light is staying on as well .

Lighting problems.

I own a chrysler 2005 300c. The had no fuel problems until the odometer reached approx. 50k miles. It then started to stall immediately after filling the gas tank. I would have issues with the engine stalling while in park or driving under 60 mph.i has stalled while driving in traffic which created serious safety issues unless i got it restarted quickly.i would have to immediately put the car in neutral and restart. It appears that the problem goes away after driving for a day or so.i have asked the chrysler dealership if there were any tsb's on the problem ans have been told no. Owners on the chrysler's owner forum with my type of car are complaining of the same issue and say that there is an issues with the gas tanks that chrysler does not want to address.

The drivers side rear tire kept losing air, so i brought it back several times. They kept saying it was fixed, it lasted about 6 weeks and started losing air again, after weeks of putting air in it i brought it to another shop to have it looked at. Come to find out the aluminum wheel had a crack in it and had what looked like j b weld on it. I had to buy a new wheel for the cost of $355. I took the cracked wheel back to the dealer and he said, how do i know you didn't do that, that's when i lost it. They put my family and i in a car with a cracked wheel and they knew it. He said what was your warranty i said 30 days and told me to get off his lot. I asked him to just make it right. The passenger side headlight is all fogged up they will not replace it, it does not shine as bright as the other one at night. It seems to me like they put a sticker on that car knowing it had defects with it and they don't care. I think they need that right to give out stickers revoked. I told him i was going to call my lawyer he said go a head call any body you want. So i did starting with ate ag office i am dealing with masspirg ref #131117. At this point i would like the headlight fixed the money for the rim and soothing for my time and aggravation like maybe the cost of the car or they can take it back and reimburse all monies invested by me.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. While driving approximately 25 mph, the steering wheel became extremely difficult to control and there was an abnormal clicking noise inside the steering wheel. The hazard lights also shut on and off intermittently. Whenever the contact shut the engine off and restarted the vehicle it would function normally; however, the failure continued to occur intermittently. The dealer did not diagnose the failure. The failure and current mileages were 43,000.

My 2005 300c stalls while in motion and when stopped at a traffic signal after filling up the gas tank, and is exhibiting problems similar to those described in your pe13016 report which covers a recall of 2006 chrysler 300cs which have the same 19 gallon tank as my car.this is a dangerous condition that continues to occur.how can i get the car repaired (which it sounds like involves fuel tank replacement) by fiat chrysler at no charge to me?please respond, thank you

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the vehicle ran out of fuel and stalled. The contact stated that the fuel gauge displayed a reading indicating that fuel was present in the fuel tank at the time of the failure. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 92,000.

When i fill up the gas tank the car stalls after 1-2 minutes. Restart and stalls again. Goes on for first 10 miles after refill. This happens after every fill up. Only way to prevent is to fill tank at 80% or less.checked the internet (chrysler 300c stalling) and i find several people reporting the exact same problem. Clearly a manufacturing problem that can lead to some serious accidents.

After refueling i pulled up to a stop light. I was turning right. I stopped because the light was red. A car was traveling in the direction i was headed, but was about hundred yards away. I made the right turn and immediately my car began to chug then just stalled out. I was dead in the street. I attempted to start the car to avoid a near collision, but it would not start. The car that i had pulled in front of eventually made it to where i was at and swerved to avoid the collision. After several (3) attempts at starting the vehicle; it started.when i came to a complete stop at the next stop light it happened again. Chugging then stalled out. This time im getting honked at by the people behind me to go at the green light. I ended up holding traffic up until the next green light. I contacted chrysler and let them know about the issue to see if any recalls existed on what seemed to be a recurring issue with 2005-2006 300c models. Chrysler said they were aware of the issue, but because the vehicle is out of warranty i would have to pay full price for the tank removal and replacement. The estimate was over $1200. I expressed my safety concern, but was again told there was nothing they could do.i am late on the reporting because i did not know of the nhtsa until a coworker mentioned it.

This has happened four times in the last 2 months.i refuel the car.the car starts fine.leaving the gas station i slow down before entering traffic.the engine stalls.i restart the engine fine.i pull out of the gas station and if i make a left turn, and apply the brakes after entering the turn, the car stalls.the car always restarts fine.however, the car will then stall at an idle condition, as when waiting for a light to turn green.after a few restarts, or prolonged driving, the condition goes away.however, it scares my wife silly.i just read the nhtsa action number pe13016 and i am taking this car to linwood chrysler this tuesday.thank you for your assistance.i just wanted to let you know that there are others like myself, and to let you know my personal experience.by the way, when the car stalls in traffic, it is very dangerous.

2005 chrysler 300c.consumer writes in regards to problems with vehicle engine.the consumer stated after he left the gas station, the engine began to flutter and then stalled. The consumer then learned if he only filled the tank 3/4 full, the stalling did not occur.

After i fill up my car's gas tank and drive away, the car will stall at the first several intersections i reach. Eventually it runs fine ? until it's time to fill up the car again, at which time the cycle repeats. My car has cut out in several dangerous situations; only luck has prevented me from having a potentially serious accident. I read many other 300c owners describing the same problem. Why is this not being addressed with a recall?

After filling up the gas tank i was driving on the highway.traffic was heavy and speed was reduced to about 20 mph.while exiting the highway the car started to spurt and then shut off and the steering wheel locked.i was able to put the car in park and restart the vehicle but once it slowed down again the car shut off.i was nearly rear-ended but fortunately the truck behind me stopped in time.this only happens when the tank is full so once there is only about 3/4 of a tank full the shut downs cease.does it take fatal accidents like what gm had before chrysler issues a recall?

After refueling and leaving fueling location; engine stalled. Would restart and could drive short distance and dies again. It does this 3/8 times and then begins to run normally until next fuel up. (last 3 fuelups, so far) i don't top off and i always make sure the gas cap is tight.took it into dealer on november 13 to review the issue. Got a call back that they could not find a "code" issue in fuel but wanted to check out the torque management. I lost all confidence in their ability to identify the problem and asked to get the car back. The most common thread online seems to be a problem with evaporation system. Not sure how to check it out.my wife is now afraid to drive the car as it has now stalled several times in traffic.not sure what to do next----

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure was recurring and whether the fuel tank was full or low in fuel. In addition, the power steering assist sporadically failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to authorized dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22000 and 38,000. Updated 04/29/14*lj

This has happen at every fill-up. I've own my chrysler 300c since may 2004 (one of the first to purchase) and this problem has been present since 2008. I have to estimate the amount of fuel to put in the tank at every fill-up.if not, the car will stalled until the excess fuel is burn off or you have to drive on road without lights until the fuel gauge goes a little below the full marker. This problem should be fixed before someone gets killed.

Filled up gas tank and was leaving station and car stalled out.restarted and proceeded onto suburban main artery and as accelerating from traffic light, the car stalled again.vehicle behind me was not expecting me to stop in middle of road and crashed into the read of my car.damage to both bumper covers, but neither vehicle was undriveable as the speed was very slow.this is a known problem with the 300c's of this year and is avoidable by filling the tank to only 3/4 or so.this time it was filled by the station attendant to the pump click shut off (like you'd fill the tank of a normal car).there is a warranty extension plan for the 2006 with this issue but it seems that the 2005 model is not included.the dealer service manager has never heard of this being a problem.

After filling the car up with the correct gasoline the car stalled and turned completely off after sputtering for the next ten miles or so.upon starting it up it takes time for the transmission to engage. Since that time it has stalled every time for the next ten miles or so after fueling.it has shut completely off once while turning in an intersection. This is a very dangerous situation as there is no warning as to when it will happen only an expectation that it will happen after every refueling. I note that there was a recall for the same car for the same reason but a year younger - 2006. I have the same problem and it is very very dangerous. What can i do?

After fill up, the car stalls at slow speed 3 - 4 times before staying running.this has happened for several years not dependent on type of gas, weather, overfill, etc.very dangerous. Consequently we only fill the car to 3/4 full.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently stall moments after being refueled. The failure occurred when the vehicle was refueled after having less than 1/2 a tank of gasoline, when driving at any speed and also when first starting the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired the vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 73,000 and the current mileage was 77,000.

Afterfueling vehicle it starts then cuts off immediately it has happened several times if it don't cutoff right away it stalls soon as im driving off this is not safe wish nhtsa would start recalls before someone is injured or lose their life obviously this is a manufactures defect my car is at repair shop now needing new fuel tank and evap cannister cost 1000-2000 dollars there is no way i should be paying for a manufactures defect was told vehicle is getting raw fuel in evap cannister there has been far too many complaints for coincidence im asking the nhtsa to do their job before itcost someone their life.

The car will stall after a fillip, even when the tank is not over filled. This has placed me in several dangerous situations, where i am stranded on busy roads. This appears to be a know defect in many chrysler cars and vans.

Early build 2005 300c with low miles purchased used 3/11.driven primarily as a highway car recently we started use more in town.i had read all the various problems had with windows (not working) and pulling to the right and had both of those issues but not the engine stall issue until october.i read about not filling one ounce beyond when the pump shuts off but my observation is even that now is too much.whenever the car is filled up, it will stall/shut down 3-6 times in the next 2-3 miles of city driving.no stutter, just shuts down completely.i've tried shifting to neutral and racing the engine when pulling up to stop signs to keep it from stalling, with limited success.not that i am recommending that but better than dying when you expect it to accelerate.a somewhat similar experience when getting onto the on-ramp but more of a stutter situation than actually stalling.from what i've read it is too much gas getting into the engine via emissions hose from tank so computer does not compensate with more air (engine racing would be the result) so it floods out as in choking out a lawn mower from decades ago to get it to stop running.i've owned 50 cars and this is the most dangerous vehicle i've ever owned because of this reason.even knowing it is likely to happen does not help so i won't let anyone else drive the car.... If they were to make a left hand turn in traffic after filling the tank it would be a fireball waiting to happen.it's a very nice car to drive once you get the steering (cradle shift and weird camber settings) accomplished but we are leaving it pretty much only for highway driving and manually calculating how much gas has been used and so as to leave the tank 2-3 gallons short of full when filling it up.pain in the rear to be sure but better than making a left turn in front of someone and having the engine die... Along with you.

After filling the car up with gas the car stalled several times.i had to crank the car and quickly start driving to keep it from stalling.i then proceeded to drive the car 70 miles without stopping and not having any issues.this could have been very dangerous if i was driving the car in a high traffic (stop and go) area!!

I filled up my gas tank as always, started my car and immediately while pulling away it stalled than died. I started it again and made it into the intersection and it stalled and died again.this continued to happen while in traffic about 10 miles.i called chrysler and they did not know what was wrong.i took it to get checked out and no one could give me any understanding of this problem.i went on line and come to realize that this is a big problem with many other chrysler owners and there has been no recall nor help.i learned that others stopped filling their car up and that seemed to keep it from stalling.this has been going on now for about 6 months and i worry all the time for my families safety.some have changed the gas tank however this has been unsuccessful in fixing this problem.chrysler needs to take responsibility and do the right thing.

After filling up the gas tank, and when leaving the gas station, as i'm slowing down to pull out into traffic the engine stalls. This only happens after a fill up of half a tank or more. Does not happen when i top off tank when i'm down to 3/4 tank. I get the car restarted and pull out but it feels like the engine is missing. When i start slowing down for a stop, the car will stall again. This happens anywhere from 2 to 4 times. The check engine light does not come on and there are no codes stored. The car has 155000 miles on it, and this started happing about a year ago. It only did it one time then maybe a month later it did it again. It wasn't doing all the time then but now it's getting to the point that it does it at every fill up. At first i thought maybe i got some bad gas, but i've read where other 300c owners are having the same problem. Chrysler knows about this and chrysler should be fixing this problem free of charge.

Every time the car is refueld, it stalls.also, it hestitates while driving for a few miles.the last time it happened, it also would not engage into drive.it took numerous shifts from park to drive to get it to engage.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall without warning whenever he refueled. The failure occured consistently over a one year period.the contact stated that he added small amounts of fuel in increments which seemed to prevent the failure from recurring. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer for the failure but, the dealer was contacted and advised him to bring the vehicle in for diagnosis. The vin was unavailable.the approximate failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage is 56,000.updated 04/12/11*ljupdated 04/13/11

Filled up gas tank and was leaving station and car stalled out. Restarted and proceeded on busy roadway, the car stalled again. Vehicle behind me was not expecting me to stop in middle of road. No accident occurred. This is a known problem with the 300c's of this year (2005). I foundthis to be avoidable by filling the tank to only 3/4. There is a warranty extension plan for the 2006 with this issue but not the 2005 model. I visited the dealer and the service manager has never heard of this being problem for 300c's. My car has cut out in several dangerous situations and continues to be dangerous for me and my family. Please help.

Car stalls about 1 mile after filling up with gas. Has stalled going low and high speeds, leaving me with very little control of the vehicle .a mechanic recommended that i fill up before its under half full but that doesn't seem to help any. Now ifill upbefore i go into a nearby grocery store and afterwards istart the car a few times and it seems to prevent it from stalling. Last week my husband decided to drive it to work (long drive) and didn't take my advice during fill up and it stalled shortly after getting on the highway.

After filling up the gas tank and driving away from gas station, engine would stall and die. Tried restarting but difficult to do after many attemps. Vehicle would finally drive normal after starting and running engine at higher than idle speed. This stalling would happen anytime i would fill tank. I would never top off tank but would fill till pump would stop the first time.if i fuel vehicle without filling to top, vehicle runs fine.

After filling the gas tank the car willstall when driving. This happens for several miles and while in traffic. I have come close to getting into an accident on several occasions. I have looked on line and i am not the only person with this problem.

After filling up at the gas station the car stalled 3-4 times before beginning to surge. After several minutes of stalling/surging, it was fine. It does it every time the car is filled now.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the gear shifter became stuck in park. In addition, the contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Engine stalled shortly after refueling and continued to stall until or hesitate until 2 - 3 gallons of gasoline was burned off.the condition happens almost 100% of the time if the tank is filled to the first click during refueling - it the tank is only filled to 85% the condition will not occur.the stalling condition is very dangerous because the engine is hard to restart and requires excessive cranking.it appears the engine stalls when the evaporative system sends raw fuel to the throttle body instead of fumes - the engine then stalls and is difficult to restart until an ignitable air/fuel ratio is re-established.i was driving the subject vehicle at 35 mph and had to make a right turn when the engine died and then lost power steering.trying to complete the turn without power steering while trying to restart a flooded engine was difficult and could have easily resulted in a serious accident.i'm aware that the nhtsa is looking into 2006 model year chrysler 300s equipped with the hemi engine for the exact same condition.please broaden your investigation to include the 2005 model year vehicles too.the build date of the subject vehicle was 03/04 so it was an early production vehicle.as before, the subject vehicle exhibits the stalling condition almost 100% of the time if the gas tank is filled to the first click.i'll be happy to make the vehicle available to nhtsa engineers if they need a vehicle to examine as part of their investigation.

The vehicle keeps stalling and it seems directly related to when i fill up the vehicle with gas. I have a 19 gallon fuel tank. Every time a fill the vehicle, it continues to stall (even at 60 mph) until the gas starts to empty out of the tank. As the gas empties, it stalls less and less.as soon as i refill, the problem starts all over again. I heard this year of vehicle is having issues with the fuel tank multifunctional control valve, which seems to exactly correlate with the issue that i am having.i just purchased this vehicle from a used auto dealer.

Car stalls after filling gas tank, this happens while leaving filling station and pulling into traffic and has happened on several occasions.

After filling my car at a service station until the first time the fuel pump clicked off i attempted to leave the service station and after driving approximately one mile my car stalled in traffic and would not start for about 3 to 4 attempts.if traffic would have been heavier there would have been an accident as i lost total control of the car from steering to braking when the engine shut-off.after running rough for several miles and several more stalls the problem fixed itself.this now occurs after everytime i service my car with fuel and has become a ritual unless i take the time to calculate the estimated fuel remaining in the tank and subtract it from the total capacity then only add enough fuel to take me up to two gallons from full.didn't realize i needed to be a math wizard to own a chrysler 300c.now that i know this is a repeatable problem i must tell anyone who i loan my car to or they could face a potential accident since this has not been publicly acknowledged by chrysler as a recurring and predictable problem.it should be noted that i have been the only owner of this car bought new in may 2004 and it has been maintained to manufacturer's specifications.*ln

After refueling the car stalls.it takes about 3 or 4 minutes, so by that time i was on the highway.very scary and dangerous in traffic.

I pulled into a bp gas station to purchase fill up. After fill up i proceeded down the street and came to a red light, waited for green light, but didn't notice car had shut down. People behind honking because i had not moved. Cranked up again, car moved a little. So two young men got out and pushed me out of the street as i was literally a sitting duck in the street. I called someone to come and check it out and he drove it home, but it stopped on him three times before he got it home. Needless to say this has been and ongoing process for me since october 12, 2012. I have found out that as long as i do not fill it to the top it is okay and will cooperate. This is no way to use a car. I do not know if there was a recall but i know i never receive notification of one.i currently have 42141 miles on my car so it is hardly driven and i expected this to be my last car purchasewith gas issues such as this who knows. When i get gas now i have to drive like a bat out of hell to get it home before it cuts off. I can only be thankful that i was not merging onto the expressway; i could have been hit , injured or killed. What are my recourses at this late date. Is recall still available. Pissed off 300c owner.

The contact owns 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle would stall. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the fuel was not reaching the engine fast enough, causing the vehicle to stall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 24,000. The vin was unavailable.

Came from the gas station and filled up gas. After 3 blocks from the station, the car stalls while i was making a turn: no power steering and power brakes. I muscled the car to make the turn and nearly hit incoming traffic but came to a full stop. Engine light on but not the check-engine light. Started and proceeded slowly. After a few blocks, the same thing happened when i reached an intersection and came to an idle. I pulled the car to the curb and restarted the car. I was worried that it would stall again so whenever i reached an idle/stop light or sign, i deliberately pressed down on the gas at neutral. This was a very scary and dangerous event, needless to say.

My car started stalling in june 2013, approx. 86000 mileschrysler service could not find any reason for it stalling. A friend suggested that i check the la times, only to find hundreds of complaints. It stalls after filling the gas tank. Is replacing the gas tank at my expense the only solution?where can i find the federal office of defects investigation results for the 300c complaints.

After fueling vehicle (full tank) i drove about 1/4 mile from the gas station while turning the vehicle turned completely off while i was in a turn causing me drive up on a curb and almost striking a pedestrian. Took about 10 minutes to get my vehicle back started and about another 1/4 mile down the road it stalled again this time making me go through an intersection because the brake pedal got hard. I ended up getting it home and it sat over night. Next morning took it out, no problem except when i was leaving a store it stalled again. I thought it was a fuel issue, fuel pressure checked ok. I drained the gas in the tank and refueled from another station same problem. Seems to happen only when i completely fill up but not 100% of the time. No check engine light or body codes were detected on the car's computer.

That works if i drive the car but my family members forget that and have lost control also! this has been going on for 3 years! dangerous.

Car stalls when coming to a stop , hard to restart only after fill up at gas station with full tank of gas, reaches 3/4 tank of gas car runs fine.

After refueling normally, vehicle stalls randomly and without warning for approximately the next 10-20 miles driven.chrysler internet forum members cite a bad valve in the fuel emissions system and the corrective measure is to replace the entire fuel tank for a cost of $700.i think this should be covered by chrysler under the federal emissions warranty and because the vehicle stalls without warning, it can be quite dangerous, there should be a recall.

Vehicle stalls repeatedly after fueling for approximately 35 miles and sometimes takes several attempts to restart. This is very dangerous and frightening because it is never known when or where the vehicle will leave you disabled. My car has stalled many, many times, on the road,at intersections, in the middle of intersection, at stop lights, on railroad tracks, on freeway on ramps and off ramps, parking lots, and anywhere else it so chooses. I talked to mechanics and i have done some research on this and it seems to be a problem with the flat top fuel tank design, requiring the fuel tank to be replaced, but i have yet to receive notice from the manufacturer about a recall. Please look into this matter because i am concerned about the safety of myself, my family, and other 300c owners. Please help and thank you for your time!

Car stalls after fueling. The car will die and be very hard to to steer, break and control.this now happens every time i fuel up.i never top off, and stop fueling once the pump auto stops.i have called chrysler and they are not willing to do anything for me. Case #[xxx].i have read several reports that there have been over 200,000 complaints about the same problem.this is a serious safety concern.this happened to me and i sideswiped the side of a guardrail.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The car repeatedly stalls after a fill up.this will repeat itself several times during the first few miles before it stops.if i don't fill the tank all the way up it will not stall.this has caused a couple close calls (turning in front of oncoming traffic) and short, temporary traffic delay while i restart.

2005 chrysler 300c w/ 5.7l while driving @ approx 35mph, vehicle would drop out of gear as if in neutral, check eng light came on, setting p700 & p701 plus egr prob. If car was steered to safe area and turned off then re-started, prob would momentarily resolve itself becoming intermittent @ various speeds or atmospheric conditions. R&r of egr assembly and cleaning, then clearing of codes seems to have resolved the prob. Problem started on oct 16, 2010, repair performed on october 19, 2010 and has not returned. This could become an issue w/ other vehicles of same make & model, due to p701 is stating problem w/ transmission module.

Chrysler 300c 2005 will completely die upon filling tank with fuel.will restart and die 1 or 2 more times then run fine.my concern is accident waiting to happen.solution change gas tank which chrylser refuses to do without customer paying for it. I feel a recall is needed before someone it injured or possibly killed. Filed a complaint, have a case number nothing resolved. I feel a solution is necessary as soon as possible.problem has occurred from time of purchase.

The car stalled after fueling.once the problem started it continued every time i filled the tank.i recently had to have a new gas tank installed which cost over $1200.00.

Car shuts off after filling, was just every once in a while starting 2 years ago, but now it shuts off after every fill up, and when it shuts off then there is no power steering. Will shut off as soon as i leave the gas station, and will continue every time i slow down, for approx.10 miles. After being rear ended in traffic at a stop light, due to i started to move and the car shut off, but the person behind me didn't realize my car quit and lightly hit me. I have learned that i can no longer fill up at any gas station, i have to fill up where i know i can just drive without slowing down for about 10 miles. The car will still shudder like it isn't getting gas, but have been able to keep it from shutting off totally and trying to avoid being rear ended again. I worry what damage is being done to the rest of my car when it shudders like that though. I see that there is a lot of other 2005 300c owners having this same problem, but no recall has happened yet. Hope the recall happens before someone gets killed due to this malfunction.

Car stalls after gas tank is filled up.car stalls while driving and at intersections.this is dangerous. Review on internet shows that many others have this same problem.current solution is to avoid filling up the gas tank.

For the last couple years, my chrysler 300c would occasionally stall. Mostly it would be at lower speeds, but there have been multiple times the car would stall at highway speeds. I have spent a good amount of money trying to fix the issue.i just recently realized, it would occur when i had a full tank of gas. I have read that there is many other chrysler 300 owners that have the same issue. It seems shocking that an issue like this could go this long without any warnings or recalls. I have been in many dangerous driving situations, due to this issue... I could see this issue becoming more of an noticeable problem, due to the lower gas prices. I usually put in the same amount of money when i fill up. Not until more recently, with the lower gas prices, that amount fills my tank. That is why it took me this long to realize that it happens when i fill the tank.

Filled up at costco and immediately after leaving the car stalled, restarted and stalled five more times in three miles. The stalling does create a dangerous driving situation.

On my car when the gas tank is auto filled all the way, until it clicks, then it stalls out while driving and is very hard to restart since the vehicle has to come to a complete stop before you can attempt to restart.this hashappened at least 10 times. The last time was while attempting to make a left hand turn onto route 29, within minutes of having left the gas station, and i lost control of my steering due to the fact that the car was not running any more. I was lucky i wasn't hit by another car when coasting it partly off the road. Since then,i have learned, as long as i don't fill the tank all the way full the stall outs don't happen.

Gasoline smell inside cabin traced to the gas pump/sending unit located below the floor mat directly beneath the rear passenger-side seat.a 1/2" deep puddle of gas forms at the rear of the unit which reappears after being soaked up.

Engine stalls after fill up.usually stalls 3 times at low speeds. Could be dangerous if it stalled when merging into traffic.

After filling car with gasoline, car begins to stall and shut off.the car will start up again, but shuts off frequently until the gasoline burns.then it ride normally.this has happened several times.i just do not fill the car anymore.this is dangerous because it's so unexpected.it happens in the middle of traffic without warning.

After filling car with gas it dies just bought this car 3 weeks ago and it has happened 4 times all after getting gas, looked and no recalls. This is very dangerous andscary.

I am experiencing stall outs after fueling my car up.i entered the highway and the car stalled out while traffic is burling on top of me and i immediately put the vehicle in neutral and restarted the vehicle which didn't start right away and nearly created an rear end collision of my vehicle.after it started the car stalled again and started jerking before it stalled again..this is definitely a heart stopping experience and i am unaware if chrysler has a recall about this terrifying situation..i've purchased this vehicle new 10/2004 and never experienced this problem until the spring of 2017 ..my vehicle now has 167,000 plus miles and i'm very concerned about this existing fuel problem which can cause a major accident which i have almost became a victim..

I got fuel in my vehicle approx. 3/4 of a tank after fueling my vehicle stalled when i tried to drive it. I have previously replaced the purge solenoid, the pcm, and the egr valve.the vehicle continues to have multiple problems and has left me stranded more times than i can count.

After filling gas tank, engine would repeately stall (at idle or at 40 mph) up to 6 times within 2+ miles..incident did not seem to occur if the tank was not full.

This situation has occurred countless times over the last year and a half.after fueling, vehicle will randomly stall out, either at idle or under way.this has occurred under various driving conditions; at speed, at traffic signals, or much worse on turns (with obvious sudden loss of power steering.)i understand from my own research that there is a check valve in the fuel tank that fails, allowing raw gasoline to enter the vapor recovery system, which causes the stall. The only way to replace this valve is to replace the fuel tank, as the valve is molded into and is integral to the tanks construction.i've had quotes around $1,200 to replace the tank, and it is not clear that the new tanks will have a redesigned valve, so the problem may not in fact be rectified after all.this is an extremely dangerous condition, as i've been in situations where the unexpected loss of power steering compromised the vehicle's performance on turns.stalling coming off a traffic signal actually caused following vehicles to require dangerous evasive maneuvers.it is inevitable that someone is going to get severely hurt or killed as a result of these sudden stalling conditions.

The car stalls while coming to a stop or when sitting at a red light. In a few minutes the car will start and drive just fine until the same thing occurs again

This car has a problem every time its time to fill gas tank car is running fine once i'm done with the filling up and i am leaving the gasoline station the car stalls with no warning or anything it has happen every time i fuel up one time i came to a red light when it was time to go on green it shut off on me and did not want to turn on after like the 5th try.i have tried calling chrysler dealers but said my vin number is not on the recall cars.

Every time the tank is filled to full this vehicle stalls.at 3/4 fill it does not occur.in light of the chevy cobalt tragedy perhaps a proper investigation into this defect will commence.this isn't a nuisance "temporary glitch" issue, because whenever a car loses power unexpectedly it should not be considered a nuisance issue. I experienced an engine stall at a high rate of speed entering a freeway just after fueling and my car lost all power. Half-baked suggestions like don't fill the tank full are silly.this is a serious issue that requires a specific repair recommendation.

When refueling my chrysler 300c back to full capacity it will immediately stall out and shut off completely. The car will start right up again no problem, and continue to stall out while driving in traffic multiple times following until it burns off enough fuel to stop. I also have been smelling raw gasoline inside and outside the vehicle and the problem varies. The odor is highly potent coming from the passenger side rear. Never witnessed any fluid leaking underneath the car or noticeably in fuel tank gauge until this morning, it was leaking out from the trim panel underneath the rear passenger side .

That works if i drive the car but my family members forget that and have lost control also!this has been going on for 3 years! dangerous

This isn't the first time the car just shuts down when u fill the gas tank all the way up. I filled the tank and proceeded to drive and merge on to highway and without any lights or warning the car just shuts off on the highway while doing 65. I lost power and the vehicle is had to control.it took a second to start back up in the middle of the highway.this only happens when i fill the tank all the way up. It's an issue with the gas tank or a valve getting stuck open/closed in the tank.i filled the tank again and just waited at the gas station to see if it would happen again and it did. I waited about 2 minutes and the car shut off while sitting at the gas station.. I left the gas station as soon as i turned out of the gas station the vehicle shut off 2 more times. I have to either fill my tank to 3/4's a tank or purposely burn gas when on full to not have this happen again.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the vehicle emitted a strong fuel odor while parked. The contact inspected the vehicle and found that the fuel tank was leaking due to defective material. The filler hose that joined the fuel tank and the plastic seal failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 176,000.

I have had problems with this vehicle stalling and dying while driving normal, and after stop lights. I also smell gas when car is started. This is a potentially dangerous problem. I have done research and discovered that several owners of this vehicle are having the same identical problems. I was informed that there was a problem with the fuel vapor canister and the gas tank, which is possibly a factory defect. I was also informed that the fuel vapor canister was on back order, which indicates that there is a serious problem. Please investigate and address this potential dangerous factory defect.

For last year if we fill the gas tank to full the car stalls in traffic shortly after leaving the fuel station. Highly dangerous. My wife doesn't fill the tank anymore after three incidents where she was almost hit did not happen until we moved car to florida. Maybe related to gas temperature in gas station versus fuel temperature in car?

After filling up, the car died while leaving the gas lot almost causing an accident.the car started, it drove for a few seconds and died again.this happens everytime i fill the gas tank.i also notice what my mechanic calls a towing effect when i'm driving.i have had a full fune up on the car along with having the transmission fluid changed and the car still dies and has the towing effect when i drive. This is very much a safety issue and from seeing what other people are saying, why hasn't this issue been addressed.if i am involved in an accident because of this, there will be a lawsuit.

Recently purchased 2005 chrysler 300c thought i was getting great deal only had 47700 miles on it.first fill up it stalled immediately after and did so several times.i tried revving up the engine while in neutral but as soon as i drove off it stalled again.i was so afraid someone was going to hit me from behind until i could get into to turning lane.it seemed to work, well didn't stall out, when i would accelerate when it seemed as if it was going to go dead.i took it back thedealership they said was a vent in fuel tank that was clogged, only fix to replace which they are not wanting to do and i have only have the car 1 week.

After filling fuel tank:vehicle stalled twice while driving. Difficult restarts.this occurred on two occasions.at the second occasion, after filling,i could hear prolonged "gurgling" sound from fuel tank filler neck. I am convinced that this issue has something to do with the fuel tank venting system - perhaps a clogged vent tube.

Every time i fill my gas tank up the car oil light comes on and it stalls. Sometimes it does this 2 or 3 times then it runs ok until its time to fill car up again, then the same thing happens.

Filled up gas tank and car stalled while stopped at a stop light had to restart and then stalled as i was getting onto the freeway had to coast to side of road. Very dangerous because car lost all power and started to roll backwards with cars behind me.

After filling up with gas the car will stall repeatedly for several miles. It then runs normally until the next fill up. I recently bought the car for my son who just turned 16. The first time it happened was the first time he filled up while driving alone. Needless to say he had no idea what to do. Luckily he was able to pull off the state highway he was driving on (3 lanes each direction) before it totally stopped. The power steering shut off so he had a very difficult time even turning off the main road. It now has done the same thing for the last 3 fill ups which were all at different gas stations to rule out bad gas at a particular station. This seems to be a very dangerous issue that should be addressed.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. After refueling the vehicle, it would stall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000. The vin was not available.

Since november 2013, each time i fill up my 2005 chrysler 300c, it stalls for the first 5--20 minutes after the fill up. In december 2013, i brought it to my chrysler dealership (which has worked on the car since 2006), and it said my car needed an evap canister and a solenoid. The parts were ordered and the installation/replacement work was done on december 6, 2013. This did not fix the problem. The car still stalls, starting right as i pull outfrom the gas station. The most disconcerting thing is that when the engine stalls, and you are steering into a corner, the power steering is gone. This makes steering very difficult and is very dangerous, particularly on the two-lane roads i mostly travel. I am now thinking it may be that there is some water in the gasoline tank or gasoline line.i sense the electronics in the engine calling for gas (or not accepting gas) when there is something bad in the gasoline line.not sure how there is water in the tank, as the car since being purchased new is garaged when at home and at work and well cared for otherwise.i just read this evening on the web that chrysler is aware of the problem and has known since at least may of 2013. This is very disconcerting; the dealership mentioned nothing about this known problem to me. And so i had this work done needlessly, at my expense and for no successful result. The dealership should have acknowledged the recall to me when i first brought the car in with this issue. It was suggested i might need to replace the gas tank.has chrysler figured out what the problem is?did this in turn result in a recall? can i ask the dealership for my money back? any suggestions on how this can be fixed?

After refueling, vehicle will start moving and then engine "chokes out and cuts off . Acting as if i just put in bad fuel. I can sit and ideal and it will run just fine, i can race the engine and there is not problem. However, when i put it in drive, just as it seems to becoming out of 1st gear it chokes out and the engine shuts off. I accelerated to merge onto interstate highway, just after filling the tank, the engine chokes out and cuts off and my family was almost hit by a tractor trailer. Each time engine cuts off i loose brake and steering function. This is happening all the time now, when i fill the tank.i have been told there is no recall but many reports to chrysler service.

Car stalls after full or partial fill-up at gas station.very dangerous if stall occurs when in freeway traffic or when making turns in front of oncoming traffic!!

Takata recall . My 2005 chrysler 300c 5.7 started smelling like gas every time i filled up the tank.time past till i decided to take a look why it smelled like gas.furst thing to check was the fuel pupms.finding thst the passenger side had a budle of gas ontop of the fuel pump housing .i replaced the rubber gasket but that didnt help at all .so now i need to replace the fuer pump because it looks like it might have a crack somewhere .

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. Immediately after the contact refueled the vehicle, it stalled several times before eventually operating normally. The contact indicated that the failure occurred regardless of the amount of fuel inside the fuel tank. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

Filled up tank at gas station and immediately after leaving gas station the car stalled, restarted right away but felt sluggish. Started a right turn and engine shut off again in the middle of my turn!this really scarred me as it was a busy intersection and could have caused an accident!i restarted and stalled a block later.i took car to a mechanic to test gas and he found no problem with the gas.the car ran fine the next day.on 1-17-2015 i stopped at costco to fill up, car stalled immediately as i started to pull away the gas station.car died about 5 other times within the parking lot of costco. The car would restart immediately.i drove about 3 miles to the express way and drove 35 miles home with no problems.the unexpected stalling of the engine can cause an accident, in my case, this second time i was on a busy parking lot on a saturday with cars turning and certainly no one expects a car to stall in the middle of a turn. Before this happened, over the years i had experienced problems with filling up the gas tank where the station gas pump would stop even after pumping less than half a gallon.i always thought it was the pump at the station and i would go to another pump or another station and it would fill up ok.

When i fill the gas tank the car stops and loses all power. This happens a few times until i use some gas. This is very dangerous problem. I almost got rear ended a few times.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c.the contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph after refueling, the vehicle stalled without warning and could not be restarted. The failure would recur whenever the vehicle was refueled.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer however, the dealer indicated that the entire fuel tank needed to be replaced.the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 100,00.

Vehicle stalls one or more times after refueling, particularly while decelerating.vehicle may then lurch several times before resuming normal operation, which usually occurs after 5-10 minutes of driving.problem is intermittent but ongoing. Mechanic has not been able to resolve problem.

After filling tank with fuel, car stalled at next few intersections. Had to turn off completely for transmission to reset and engage several times. Has happened previously but not sure of date, approximately in the last 6 months. Due to loss of steering and sitting still in moving traffic, this creates a true hazard. Have owned vehicle since it was new.

Stalling after fill up and under acceleration.car stalls out and all power systems fail within minutes after refueling to a full tank. Car is in motion at any speed and has nearly caused two rear end crashes from cars behind it when it suddenly stops and the power steering and brakes and electrical systems shut off. This also happens during acceleration at 1700 rpm at any time. Car is always in motion.car can be restarted again within a few seconds to 5 minutes later. Problem started at 130,000 miles.possible issue with the gas tank, fuel line, filter or stuck valve.mechanics say there is no fix and to not fill up the gas tank.

2005 chrysler 300 hemi 5.7.if you almost fill gas tank, the car will stall out without warning for approximately two days. I have asked the local dealer. They show no tsb or recall. This is not safe. I have seen many articles about this on the internet.

On several occasions, after fully filling the gas tank, the car will completely shut down while either at idle, or at low speed.the first time it happened, it gave a check engine" light with a fault code to check the fuel cap.on further inspection, the fuel cap was properly seated.now, when this problem occurs, it no longer gives the "check engine" light indication.the problem does not occur when the fuel tank is less than completely full.the problem is identical to the problem nhtsa investigated in 2006 chrysler 300s resulting in chrysler extending the fuel tank warranty to lifetime coverage.this is a dangerous problem, as when the car dies, all power is lost to the car to include steering and braking.typically this occurs at a stop light, but could happen in a much more dangerous position.

2005 chrysler 300c died in traffic shortly after filling fuel tank full of gasoline. The vehicle was restarted and died three more times in traffic before running fine. My concern is that this is an accident waiting to happen.online research showed this is a common occurrence in this vehicle after filling fuel tank to full.apparently raw gasoline (rather than vapors) gets into the evaporative system and enters the engine, creating a rich fuel situation and the stalling.this is a very serious situation and should be investigated further.thank you.

After filling my fuel tank the car would stall at speeds ranging from 5 - 30 mph causing loss of steering and braking.upon shifting into neutral it would start but would stall 2 or 3 more times.i was not sure of the cause until june of this year when i got a notice from chrysler about the problem and that they have issued a recall.i brought the vehicle to a dealer and they informed me that they had to order the part.this was7/16/2014. To date they have not received the part and i called chrysler and they say they are not producing them.the car in this state is not safe.i cannot imagine what would happen if i were going at highway speed. There must be some recourse to force a manufacturer to honor a recall.

Similar to many other people's issues.i get fuel and then while driving the car will stall.happens for a few days after i get gas not even a completely full tank.it becomes a very unsafe condition because i loose power steering and power brakes when it stalls.why is chrysler not doing anything about this as it clearly is a safety issue that they must be aware of.http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2014/05/06/owners-of-more-than-150000-chryslers-warned-that-their-cars-could-suddenly-stall/ .

After filling up with fuel on take off from stop light twicecar died while driving away from light into traffic, then again after stopping car to restart it. Then 2 minutes later making a left turn car made a ding noice and died again!!

Filled up at gas station. Did not "top off" tank. Allowed it to stop on its own. Car died unexpectedly pulling out of gas station into traffic. Died twice again on way home.

After refueling, engine stops running at low speed or idle. Engine restarts immediately. After several miles and 4 or 5 restarts engine runs smoothly. Dangerous because of loss of acceleration, steering and braking.

Car stalls after filling car up with gas.

Every time the vehicle is filled with gas, the engine stalls out no matter where it is being driven. Hyw or street/city road.

This ismessage is to help you out. My 2005 300 stalled when filling the gas tank as well, and finally it was determined that the entire gas tank from front to back needed to get replaced. Dont let the dealer tell you otherwise. My car was fixed and has been fine ever since. Everything that is being said about it stalling after pumping gas to the max and the wheel locking w/o notice has to do with the gas pump.

After i refuel my car, it always smells like gas inside the cab. I recently looked to see where it is coming from, and found it on the passenger side back seat. The transfer pump has a puddle of gasoline on the back side of it. I did some research and found that other peoplewho have this make and model car are also experiencing the same issue.

After refueling my 2005 chrysler 300c, it will stall at low speeds.i have read the report pe13-016, which covers the 2006 chrysler model.

I filled up the gas tank and when i left the gas station, about 1 mile away the car stalled and i had to drift off to the side of the road and get it started again. I took it to the dealer ship and they found nothing wrong. It is a continuing problem.i found out that it is a valve in the gas tank that went bad.it should have been fixed under warranty.it seems that it should be a safety recall.it is dangerous when a car stalls pulling out on to a busy highway.

Vehicle stalls repeatedly after filling up.in reference to pe13016, the action refers to cars from model years 2005 and 2006. Yet, the final investigation results only include the 2006 model year? 2005 cars are also affected.this is well documented not only in complaints listed here but all over in internet forums.you know this is a problem, chrysler knows it is a problem thus a recall of the model year 2006.do the right thing and recall model year 2005 before someone gets killed.this is a very dangerous situation as when the vehcle dies you lose your power brakes, your power steering, and you are a sitting duck.recall the 2005's and fix this life threatening problem.

I have had problems getting the rear driver side door to completely unlock and open ever since i purchased this vehicle. Occasionally the rear passenger door would do the same. I have even had the front passenger door behave this way. I am writing now, because the rear passenger door almost never unlocks and opens anymore. With both back doors not unlocking and opening, it concerns me greatly that this is a serious safety hazard should i need to immediately gain access from the outside or the rear passengers need to get out from the inside. The only way to get the doors to open is to pull up extremely hard on the door lock posts.

2005 chrysler 300c the gear shift has locked in parked twice.

Park lockout mechanism broken on 2005 chrysler 300c vehicle was parked in my driveway when i discovered the shifter would not move out of park

I could not shift my car out of park.i researched online and found a known defect in a small pink plastic piece, called the transmission shifter interlock lever.this part was recalled due to this defect.i called the dealer who said they could fix it on wednesday (six days later) and that i would have to pay for it because my car was not included in the recall.further research determined that the recall, shown as for model years 2005-2008, was actually limited to manufacture dates in this range.my car was built in 2004.the repair cost $134, including the $13 part.i called chrysler twice and was told that they would not cover this obvious defect.it also seems obvious to me that that not covering the first cars built, in 2004, is a clerical oversight, as 2005 was the first model year.the same poor-quality plastic was used in 2004 as in 2005-2008.i believe that i should be reimbursed for this repair, if not also for the 6 days without use of my car, and that all cars built with this inferior pink plastic piece should be recalled.

Suddenly couldn't shift out of park.called dealerand was told they could try to walk me through trying to get the trim around the gear shift apart to get to the pink plastic piece that is typically the problem and rig it so it could be moved or dealer said i could call tow truck and they typically know how to get it started. I got a ride home, looked on internet and saw many postings about this same problem.went back to the car, followed the instructions on the internet to get to the pink plastic piece, used a screwdriver to maneuver the shifter cable to get out of parkand drove it home.then i discovered the k39 recall notice on internet. Called dealer next day, was told that my vin isn't covered by k39 and they would have to look at it but would likely cost about $300.i contacted manufacturer and indicated i wanted repair at no cost if i took to dealer just like customers covered by recall.i was told that unless recall was expanded to include my vin, i'd have to take to dealer to be diagnosed. Manufacturer made no guarantee about cost to be diagnosed/repaired or if it would be repaired free of charge following diagnosis.the k39 recall letter includes statement about improving ownership satisfaction and improvements in every vehicle they build.apparently, satisfaction of owners like me whose vehicles have not been included in recall doesn't matter and they apparently aren't concerned about improving every vehicle because they missed mine.repair to my vehicle has been completed thanks to internet where we found information that we followed.we saved towing charge & dealer repair cost estimated in excess of $300.

The k39 transmission interlock leaver went bad.it would not let me take the car out of park.there was a recall on the 2007 chrylser 300c, but not on the 2005.i found numerous claim on line about this defective piece in the 2005 chrysler 300c.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the vehicle had become stuck in park. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the transmission shift lever was fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 45,000.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that while down shifting, the vehicle would come out of gear and independently shift into neutral. The contact would have to coast to the side of the road and wait several minutes before the vehicle could be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised him that air conditioner drain tube leaked water into the transmission, causing the failure. The mechanic advised him that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance to the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. The current mileage was approximately 105,000.

Thetransmission has been rebuilt 3 times in the past 8months .. It just out of no were with no warnings will stop going in to first gear. Mostly on a stop. Then step on gas it won't go in to first gear any more. It did do it one while on the free way. Every single time it has done that it has to go to the shop because it won't work any more.

Car stalls with no warning or engine lights/codes. While driving(very dangerous!!)

The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vin was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 05v460000 (power train). The failure mileage was 101,650.

I could not shift my car out of park. I was so surprised i did not know what to do.icalled my dealer and was told i needed to have the car towed in.i found out later that it was a known defect in a small pink plastic piece, called the transmission shifter interlock lever. This part was recalled due to this defect. I had my car towed to the dealer where i had to pay to get this fixed because i was not aware of the recall or if my car was even included in the recall. I was never contacted about the recall.never!!!!!

2005 chrysler 300c. Park lock out mechanism gets stuck in park, stranding me in the middle of the desert in 114 degree weather.

Gear shift stuck in park. Called chrysler dealer about getting it fixed, but said "your vin" isn't part of the recall that they have on it. Its some pink plastic thing that breaks, the "customer satisfaction notification k39 - transmission shifter interlock lever" apparently only applies to certain "vin"s. Chatted online with "customer care" agent at chrysler which was brief, she stated my vin isn't covered i'd have to pay for repairs, as she was rude, so i didn't get an answer as to why only some vins are being fixed when there are tons of people having the problem. A simple search on-line brings up over 150k results, and i see here there are complaints too for the same problem. An actual metal solid replacement piece costs $15, i'll have to get the dealer or a mechanic to install it (the dealers replace with same plastic piece or replace whole shifter)... Seems this is another "gm ignition switch" waiting to happen. Hopefully this issue won't cause any deaths. I would like to know why only some vins are being fixed.

In the very late afternoon of 8/16/2013, after grocery shopping, i went back to my car that i parked earlier in the store's parking lot, placed the groceries in the trunk, closed it, got in the car, put on my seat-belt and started the engine. So far, everything was fine and normal. I then pressed the brakes pedal, released the hand-brake and tried to pull the gear shifter from park to reverse, nothing, it doesn't work; it's stuck. I turned off the engine, restarted it and went to the same process to put the car in reverse. Still, nothing, even after about 20 repeats. For some reason, the gear shifter was definitely stuck in park. Even overriding the park interlock system (as recommended by chrysler, in case of an electrical malfunction) didn't help. After 2 hours trying, in vain, to solve the problem with the help of a very kind passerby, angry and frustrated, i gave up and had to have the car towed to my residence. As i searched the internet the next day to find out whether any other chrysler owner had reported such an experience, i found hundreds of chrysler and dodge owners reporting such an experience with their vehicle. The culprit is a piece of pink plastic that chrysler has used as a part in the park interlock mechanism of their 2005 - 2007 chrysler and dodge vehicles. A repealing spring is attached to that part by a tiny tab. This is absolutely unacceptable, because it is obvious to anyone with a little bit of commonsense that as that part is frequently used (during parking and getting out of parking), the combined effects of the tension of the spring and the weather changes will result in having the tiny tab on the pink plastic part easily break. This will happen to every chrysler and dodge model that is using that piece of plastic.chrysler should be held accountable to their customers when they make such a terrible and unacceptable engineering mistake.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the shifting gear failed to shift into drive. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle but the shifting gear defect persisted. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

2 different times this vehicle will not go out of park and strands me. I have seen many online complaints.also and crysler recalled chargers and dodges but have not recalled the chryster 300's for the same problem. There is a cheap part that breaks and causes the gear lock up and the whole steering assembly has to be replaced per chrysler at a high price. Should be recall as with chargers and dodge products.

Took car in because transmission was acting up. Water was in transmission without it ever being in a flood or high water. Had transmission fluid drained and replaced twice to remove water. 2000 miles later transmission went out completely.called chrysler about the problem but they were either unwilling or unable to tell me how water got in the transmission without it ever being in a flood or high water. Chrysler refused to take any responsibility for the design of the car without a dip stick to check transmission fluid. Nor are they willing to help with the replacement of the transmission.however all dealers acknowledge that chrysler has had problems with the transmission in their 300c models. No more chrysler products for me.

When i startmy car (2005 chrysler 300c)the gear shift is stuck in park and would not move from the park position. Car starts normally, no readings on dash, gave no indication that a failure was about to occur. I called the dealership and gave my vin number to checkfor recalls, there are none. There is obviously a problem because i have found videos on how to repair the problem when i searched the issue on line. Chrysler used what amounts to a plastic tie and a spring to control a 35kvehicle.

Transmission shifter interlock lever-notification code k39. There is a recall letter that chrysler is circulating about "transmission shifter interlock lever" describing the issue of a broken spring hook in the shift lever assembly and if it breaks, it would prevent the driver to shift the car from park to reverse.my car is a 2005 chrysler 300c and suffered from this same exact issue.i called the local chrysler dealer and chrysler's group recall assistance center 1-800-853-1403 and they both said that my car because its a canadian model, does not qualify for the recall.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c.the contact stated that the shifter would not shift out of park.the contact towed the vehicle to a dealer where the dealer advised that the shifter assembly unit needed to be replaced.the dealer replaced the shifter assembly unit.the contact referenced nhtsa campaign i.d. Number: 05v460000 (power train:automatic transmission) and called the manufacturer.the manufacturer informed the contact the vin was not included in the recall.the failure mileage was 81,000.

Gear shifter locked in park. Had car towed to local repair shop. Mechanic said this is a common problem with chrysler.

While backing up and turning out of drive way, feels hesitation and noise coming from rear axle.

Transmission mount cross member is breaking apart and drive shaft carrier bushing is destroyed

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the gear shifter would not move from park. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified and advised that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number: 05v460000 (power train:automatic transmission). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 120,000. The vin was unavailable.

I first had problems about 6 months ago when i could not get my car out of park.this happened periodically.i was also having a problem with the transmission.i took it into a transmission specialist.the two problems were unrelated.the transmission specialist said my shifter had to be replaced.i was out of town at the time, so i told them to replace it.later, i happened on customer satisfaction notification k39 transmission shifter interlock lever issued by chrysler.chrysler could not provide me with the date of issue of this notification.the notification states it applies to "some 2005 through 2007 model year dodge charger, magnum and chrysler 300 equipped with a floor shifter."it refers to an "inability to move the gear shift lever out of the ''park'' position."it further states "if you have already experienced this condition and have paid to have it repaired, please send your original receipts...once we receive and verify the required documents, reimbursement will be sent to you within 60 days."i sent in the requested materials.i was informed chrysler would not reimbursement me because my car was not part of the recall.i find this hard to accept.there was obviously a problem with shifter interlock levers, but for some reason chrysler is only recalling some of the problems, not all of them.

On satot having be.8/30/14 my 300c was parked in the garage. I not used the care to go tomy veterans hospital appointments and could not go because i could not get the gear shifter out of park! i had to call usaa for a tow on a flatbed truck to darcars chrysler waldorf,md who has maintained his car for many years. I was told by the ice manager that the problem was a pink plastic piece in the center counsel and its spring that failed, and is a common occurance in this vehicle leaving it unable to move at all-trasmission and rear wheels locked by shifter. I checked your pages for recalls and i saw two recent ones of the same car/style/yearas mine. I need my car it has veterans "dv' plates as i am totally combat wounded and disabled. I think chrysler must pay for this repair as it is their fault, they knew it for years, and i am thinkming of filing a federal court class action under 28 usc in .md as was against gm and ford.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact was driving approximately 15 mph when the transmission failed to respond and the engine rpms began to increase rapidly. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where they detected that the transmission deep stick was completely rusted and melted onto the transmission. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 05v460000 (power train:automatic transmission) but the vin was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

Shifter-transmission part # 68091341aa broke. Therefore i could not back the car out of my garage abd had to have the car towed to the dealer. He said part is not a recalled item for my car, but it is for lots of other cars like mine, but it was not built in a defective plant!. I got charged $269.01 plus about $100 for towing costs. I also got charged another $15.00 for two visor clips. This is the third time they have failed.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that the gear shift was stuck in park. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where a clip for the gear shift was replaced. The contact felt that this was a manufacturers defect because the clip was made from plastic and broke easily. The failure mileage was 55,000.

With car started, applying brake, automatic shifter comes out of park position but will not go into any gear.

Chyrsler 300c 2005 model, then car was in park and would not come out of gear. The tow truck driver came and showed us how to manually get the car out of gear with the gear box off, which is only a temporary fix. The car ixs now exposed to potential thieves and the transmission will lock if not serviced.

The rear seats seat belts do not retract after use.they sluggishly go back to the fully retracted position over time, but takes quite a long time (hours).

My passenger seatbelt isn't functional the last time it was clicked inside it's impossible to release. I 'd like to know if the chrysler company can take care of this safety issue. Free no charge!

The air bag light from the passenger side is always on.

After filling the vehicle with gasoline it surges while gong down the road then dies. Vehicle restarts, may surge and die again, then drives normally tell next gas fill up.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. While driving at approximately 30 mph, the contact engaged the brakes and the brakes locked. On several occasions she had to pump the brakes to unlock the brakes. She stated the brakes also makes a creaking noise when engaged. The failure occurred daily. The vehicle has been taken an authorized dealership where they sprayed the brakes with a substance similar to wd4 and replaced the front brake pads. The contact stated the failure was occurring again and she had an appointment with the dealer. She was unable to provide a vin at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was unknown. The current mileage was approximately 48,000.

Steering binds and has to manually turned to bring the spring loaded steering back to center position after making left or right turns and while driving.power steering pump appears to be functioning properly, but the steering wheel still binds up when driving on roadways and when attempting to park in parking spaces.

After filling the vehicle with gasoline it surges while gong down the road then dies. Vehicle restarts, may surge and die again, then drives normally tell next gas fill up.

We purchased a 2005 chrysler 300c new in march of 2005, since that time we noticed the car pulls to the right, and over say several months the problem got worse, i replaced to driver side outer tie rod end around august of 2007, then early 2009 the same thing happened to the passenger side, it's april 2011 and i'm about to replace the tie rod end for a second time on the drivers side.

Vehicle suddenly lost all power while driving.. Brake, engine , steering capability, lights, air bag came on, lights faded and finally stopped in middle of road and cold not start again

After filling up my car with gas the car stalls.this has happened several times after filling up and is a safety concern.the car stalls when driving at any speed.car restarts but if on highway all power is lost - safety concern.

The contact owns a 2005 chrylser 300c. The contact stated while driving 10 mph or greater, the vehicle had a vibration coming from the floor of the vehicle. The dealer was contacted who referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted who stated to contact nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 110,000.

That works if i drive the car but my family members forget that and have lost control also!this has been going on for 3 years! dangerous

Vehicle steering wheel locked up while driving (in motion) less than 35mph going around a round about. The vehicle locked up when attempting to exit the circle.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. After opening the hood of the vehicle, the lid fell downward and struck the contact's head. The incident caused a small laceration that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the hinges were faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact indicated that the same failure was also present on the trunk lid. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 25,000.

Front suspension had to be replaced twice.the first repair was with oem parts, which failed and had to be replaced again.the second repair we used moog high performance parts.

The car rides smooth on good roads but on rough roads it sounds like everything is falling off underneath of the car.i have had the bushings replaced and tie rods replaced. The front end shop and my mechanic have both tried to find what was making all the noise and banging and they cannot find anything that is loose when it is on the lift.i love the car but the noises are irritating and embarrassing to those that ride with me.could not get the approx. Date to work, it been going on for several yearshelp!!

I dont want it anymore iwant this vehicle off my hands now,its not what i want anymore,me n my children have been placed in much danger because of this vehicle. I am sorry, but i truly thought this vehicle was nice, not anymore!

The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who found that there was a problem with the tensioned strut bushing arm replaced on the vehicle on the vehicle. When the contact tried to order the parts needed from the dealer, the dealer stated that its on national backorder, they have over 4000 of these on backorder!

Got ready to take kids to the doctor and the tire was flat. Managed to get the tire aired up with compressor at house and took to a mechanic to check to see if the tire was punctured. Turns out no puncture. Decided to replace tire in case of "dryrot", when tire was taken off, the rim was cracked. Had to buy another rim. 2 months later, another rim did the same thing. Now we've had a third rim crack. These are the standard factory rims that the vehicle rolled of the production floor with.

Takata recall - shift lock solenoid, it's plastic and breaks, car was stationary.

I was unable to get the car out of park.the gear shift was stuck in park.i contacted the dealer who said there was a recall but did not include my vin.he told me how to bypass the problem to drive it to a mechanic.the shift assembly was replaced at a cost of $427.08. I would like to be reimbursed or know why my car was not in the recall.

The transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook is broken causing an inability to move the gear shift lever out of the park position.this is dangerous as vehicle can not be moved.chrysler has issued a customer satisfaction notification k39 for some vin's but not all - even though unlisted vin's have the exact same problem.

I had this happen several times after i would fill up with gas. At about 30mph or when i would come to a stop and then try to accellerate the car would stall and cut off. Would then try and restart the car after several attempts it would finially restart. Sometimes when i would reach speeds of 55mph it would cut off and i would have to steer with the best of my ability to pull to the side of the highway. Finially i just took it to the chrysler dealer and had them put a new evap canister on it and new trottle something on it 600+ dollars.

Accelerator pedal gets stuck on chrysler 300 c and car keeps on accelerating. Even when slamming the brakes the car keeps accelerating.this is a major safety problem. We called chrysler to report the incident and there is no recall or solution proposed. This is a significant problem since the car has a 5.7 liter engine and acceleration can be very forceful.people are going to be hurt because of this.there was a recall for similar problem on other vehicles from the chrysler company but not for that vehicle.

The contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that while driving 75 mph, the accelerator pedal fractured. The contact had to manually depress the accelerator with his left hand and maneuver the vehicle to safety simultaneously.the manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 76,000.

The gas pedal accelerates and sticks so you lose control off the speed. It is very unsafe for children or for anybody to be in the car.

After filling up at the gas station the car stalled 3-4 times before beginning to surge. After several minutes of stalling/surging, it was fine. It does it every time the car is filled now.

Cannot use side mirrors. The mirror looks like it has something growing inside it. It appears to be a glass failure. I cant see cars behind me using these mirrors.
