The leather wrap on my instrument panel has started to delaminate on both the passenger side and drivers side, despite being garaged from new so it has not sat out in the sun.as far as i can judge, on the passenger side, the delamination extends down to the upper part of the pab.i am concerned that this may affect the pab deployment should an accident occur.if i somehow manage to re-glue the leather covering, will that affect pab deployment.

I have a 2013 chrysler 300s. While driving at a speed around 45 mph in city driving, car stalled in the middle of an intersection while turning left at front of oncoming traffic. Seconds later the car shut off completely leaving me with no or little control over steering. The radio turned off, lights in car started flashing on and off, screens on the dash turned white, and all error lights on dash turned on. Burning electrical/rubber smell filled the car. All issues identical to the nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000. I checked my vin to see if my car would be covered but it was not included in the recall. Upon further research there has been numerous complaints on exact models of my car that were also not covered. I am very thankful my car was able to get out of the way of oncoming traffic before another vehicle hit us because my kids or myself probably would have been seriously injured or even worst, killed. Once car came to a complete stop, i tried restarting the vehicle. The car would try to start but the engine would not even be able to turn over. All lights and switches inside the car were not working properly. Lights turning on and off, heater was blowing when we had it set to ac, pushing on the break would turn off all lights in the car, etc. I hope with all the multiple complaint, and potential to cause serious injury, they will consider recalling the additional models of alternators they are clearly having the same defects.

While driving my 2013 300s the lights on my dash began to flash. A few minutes later my radio cut off and would not cut back on. About a minute later i got a message on the dash that said "battery saver mode". I had no idea what was going on and all of a sudden my the car just shut down. I had no control over the car, no brakes, no steering... Nothing. Luckily i was not in a position where i needed to avoid hitting other cars because i could not steer. I then started to smell burning rubber. After the car came to a complete stop the lights started flashing again and then the wipers came on. (they were not turned on.) the wipers slowed and then the car went totally dead (again). I googled "battery saver mode" and saw that it was my alternator.i then saw that chrysler had a recall out for their alternators so i called their recall center. I was told that, "yes, there was a recall." and i had the right kind of car and the right engine but my alternator was 180 amps. (they only recalled the 160 amps.) i read most of the complaints and their experience was almost identical to mine. And i also read that there were people with the 180 amps had the same experience and was also told the same thing as i was told by chrysler ("at this time we only have a recall out for 160 amp alternators. Save your receipt and if and when we do a recall on the 180 amps we will reimburse you.").really!? my total cost was $1260 (alternator, battery and a belt). Come on chrysler you know that these alternators are bad (both 160 and 180)! i guess until someone reports a death they won't recall the 180 amp. I would tell any buyer of the 300 to beware. I personally will never purchase a chrysler again. (i have owned 2.) no matter how cool they look.

Also, the steering seized and the vehicle stalled. The contact managed to pull the vehicle over right before the vehicle failed completely. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (crown dodge chrysler jeep ram, 3600 king dr, ventura, ca, 93003) where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the alternator as indicated in nhtsa campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 32342516. The manufacturer confirmed that the parts were unavailable. Fca recall t36/nhtsa 17v-435notified six (6) months ago regarding alternator diode thermal fatigue which may result in alternator failure while driving and causing a risk of crash. Also, may develop a resistive short circuit that can result in heat, smoke and/or fire originating within the alternator. As of 01/09/2018, i fortunately have not experienced a problem. The manufacturer states they do not have the parts to resolve the problem. I am of the opinion they have no intention of resolving the problem. If they wait long enough, we will forget about this recall. Would the nhtsa please intercede regarding this matter?

Was 4 hours from home.was driving on side road but had just left a highway, when it sounded like i had hit something even though there was clearly nothing in the road.lights started flashing, windshield wipers turned on.i no longer had any control of the car.steering wheel locked.couldn't switch gears to park.had to coast to a stop.then car wouldn't turn off and filled with smoke smell.i expected it to catch fire any second.after 5 minutes i was able to approach car and get to turn off (after many attempts).turned out to be the alternator.there is a recall on the 160 volt alternator as this apparently happened often, however mine was a 180 volt alternator so was not covered.same issue as the 160 but not covered.nor was i aware that i had an unsafe alternator in the car i was driving (with my child).

Vehicle alerted "battery saver mode" and shut down many of the electrical systems.i immediately stopped driving and called aaaby the time they arrived and attempted to tow, the vehicle would no longer turn on.brought to local dealer. They informed me that the alternator had failed and fried the battery. Since i have the 180amp alternator it is not covered under the current recall. From my research it seems that the 180amp alternator are have the exact same issues as the 160amp alternators that are currently being recalled.

Same problem that occurs with known recall p60 - nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000; chrysler 300while i was driving my vehicle shut down completely in the middle of a heavily populated city 3 lane road while i was driving at an unknown speed (35-40 mph) since my digital display screen and speedometer malfunctioned.while driving my car cut off completely with the only waring being "battery saver mode" that occurred less than 5 mins prior to my car shutting off.it appears the my alternator failed causing engine stall, thus increasing the risk of crash, since no warning is issued.had it not been for the cop that pulled up behind me, i would have caused an accident on that street in which the police officer would have blamed me for.my car is currently at the dealership with a "alternator" repair. This repair doesn't apply to the current recall from 10/8/2014 because i have a 180 amp alternator with a 3.6l engine, but not a 160 amp alternator with a 3.6l engine.

There is loud clicking coming from the dash board area.temperature control failing.there is also problems with the suspension on the front end of the car.the cv joints are failing and the struts are failing.the rockerarms in the front suspension are also failing. The clicking happens stationary or while in motion and the suspension popping happens when the car is driving.

The alternator failed and sparked a small fire.caused immediate engine failure stranding me 120 miles from home.vehicle has 50,000 miles on it.this is an unsafe situation.this car is not covered under recall as it has the hemi.maybe it should be covered.

Hands free module quit working, common problem with dodge/chrysler, ac will not recirculate causes only outside air to be drawn into the cab, cause is malfunctioning/bad humidity sensor about the resr view mirror, driver heated seat quit working, left headlight quit working, bad hid ballast. The gas and brake pedal assembly will retract on it's own while driving. The transmission w5a580-nag1-722.6 either shift extremely hard 3-4 4-5 or slips in between the gears causing the engine rpms to go way up and then either falls back into gear or causes a neutral and will not go back into gear until you either drop below 18 mph or completely stop and either put the car in park and back into drive or shut the engine off for about 10 seconds and start it back up. After the flare between gears it is stuck in 3rd gear or limp mode with a check engine light dtc read p0730 through p0735. Literally have to carry a diagnostic scan tool with me to clear the codes. Its extremely dangerous and always happens in the worst places like getting on the interstate or on busy city streets almost causes an accident because you have no choice but to pull over and stop no matter where you are or the conditions around you... These are all very common issues with this car, it would be nice if chrysler would make it right...

Death trap...i am duly noticed (p60/nhtsa 14v-634) of a defect in my 2013 chrysler 300 purchased from bill luke chrysler jeep & dodge inc. On 11/25/2012 in the amount of $33,768.39. The notice came from chrysler group llc to specific owners. Huge type..."important safety recall" chrysler group tells me that they have no timeline for completing the repair...in fact they don't have the part available.it appears that the part needs to be designed and manufactured before chrysler group can begin the repair process.a "reasonable" time for completing the repair is not on the table.bill luke chrysler jeep & dodge, inc. And chrysler group llc have refused to provide loaner or rental cars during the time it will take to complete repairs on the defective vehicles.i refuse to operate a vehicle that i have been duly noticed is defective and might be the instrument causing accidental property and/or personal injury or death to me, my family, or the general public. I should not have to make that choice.the death trap has been stored since 12/15/14.actually, this chrysler safety recall is a diabolically clever cya. Owners are forced to either park the vehicle for an indefinite period and be without the vehicle they purchased...or, drive the vehicle and by virtue of being forewarned of the defective nature of the vehicle, be held responsible for any personal or property damage resulting from an accident caused by the defect.it appears that nhtsa is a willing partner with chrysler to this cya. Nhtsa shields chrysler from legal action.this travesty must not be allowed to continue.i have sent at least two email messages to nhtsa staff and one to the department of transportation. I can't trade a recognized death trap without suffering unreasonable financial cost and i can't drive it without accepting and unreasonable death trap risk. Recall # 14v634000. Nhtsa recall number: 17v-435.for the past eight months i have tried to have this service recall taken care of.i have brought my car to my local dealership multiple times and was told that the parts have not shipped yet. I have made multiple documented phone calls to the recall chrysler customer care handling the recall for me and failed to get the replacement part. Chrysler has been delaying the recall parts so that the vehicle warranties run out. On 4/11/2018 at 1 pm chrysler alternator started smoking. All the units in the cars were fried. Would not shut off i had no control of anything. I also have a video of what happen and getting little help from chrysler.

Alternator failed ubruptlyon 2/19/16 at approx 3pm i was driving home when my 2013 chrysler 300 began to make a noise from the front engine area and i noticed what to seem like a rubber burning type odor. I kept driving and suddenly my battery warning light came on and a message on my console indicating "battery saving mode". Without further warning, my vehicle shut down in the middle of the road and almost collided with the vehicle in front. My daughter and i exited the vehicle when smoke began to fill the inside of the vehicle. Iopened the hood and noticed the alternator was making a crackling and sizzling noise and a large amount of smoke was coming from the alternator. I attempted to turn the car on to roll up my windows and there was no power. I then called chrysler roadside assistance and a tow truck was dispatched. The tow guy indicated that it appeared it was total alternator failure and as a result my battery was also "fried". The tow guy had to unlock the gears manually in order to manuver the car onto the towing bed. The vehicle was towed to rogers & rogers auto on 2/20/16 in the a.m. At about 12 noon the technician called to inform that in fact the alternator had failed resulting in damage to the vehicle's battery as well. He also indicated that this vehicle was not on the recall list but the circumstances were almost identical to the recall issued in february 2015. He suggested we call chrysler customer service for information otherwise we would be responsible for all repairs.

This car has been recalled but chrysler, apparently with the blessing of the us government, has failed to make the necessary repair. Since chrysler is still selling the 300 model they obviously have the correct parts to fix/replace the alternator. Consequently, my complaint is against both chrysler and the us government agencies that are supposed to protect the consumer.

I wasn't driving my vehicle on a busy highway. The vehicles electrical system started going crazy. Heat turned on, windshield wipers turned on, blinkers going off, radio turned off. Power steering, gas and brakes stopped working. Was stuck in the middle of a busy highway because of this and lucky i did not get hit because of the spot i was in. I got the car towed and sent to a mechanic. It was the alternator that went bad and it burned the battery so had to get that replaces as well. Very dangerous with no warning signs. I have heard this problem is common in these vehicles.

Driving on the highway at appx 30-40 mph and car started smelling like smoke, started making a high pitched humming sound, the abs brake light, the traction control light and the check engine light all came on and the smoke got worse, scared it may have been a fire under my hood. I checked all of the recalls and my car does not fall under any of them although i saw many of the same complaints here on the site. This is very dangerous, especially having children in the car. My car is now at the dealer and was there just last week for another electrical problem. I will continue to check the site since this is obviously a defect from the manufacturer. Please contat me with any info as this is very dangerous!

I ask them if they had any recalls for this unusual problem. They told me no, i ended up paying it out of pocket, $936.35 to replace the altinator and battery. I see today that your website has shown me their are problems with the altinator failing. If there's any information you can pass down to me to help me get my money back i wouldgreatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Message "battery in safe mode" comes on at about 11 to 15 mph. This is a two month old car with only 2100 miles. When i spoke to the dealership the person stated that it would come on at start up. It didn't. When i said there were several cases reported on the forums, such as the 300c forum, reporting bad batteries he laughed and said that wasn't the case. This was during a phone conversation when the person hadn't even seen the vehicle. It was also before i could say anything about the numerous posts about the alternator/regulator going bad and killing the battery.

Consumer requests reimbursement for paying for gas because vehicle has been recalled and does not want to drive the it. *tathe consumre referenced recall # 14v634000.

As i was driving, all the warning lights came on. I pulled over placed the car in park, but the car was stuck in the run position but was not running. I disconnected the battery via the negative terminal and proceeded to reconnect it. I have power to the exterior and interior lights gas and trunk door, but nothing as far as cluster panel or starter button. I placed the car in neutral and pulled it home, the dash and radio came on, i assume due to the wheels turning bringing power through the alternator. After some thorough research, i found that there was a faulty alternator on these cars for recall.

Chrysler issued a recall for all 2011 through 2014 chrysler 300 models due to an internal parts failure on the alternator.on june 9, 2017 my vehicle was stationary when attempting to start the vehicle. I received a reserve power enabled error message and promptly turned the vehicle off.upon restarting the vehicle i heard a whining noise under the hood.i once again turned the vehicle off and opened the hood.i then notice the alternator was on fire with significant smoke.after 30 minutes of severe smoke and flame from the alternator the vehicle had no power at all.i had the vehicle towed to a dealer which replaced the alternator and the battery because the alternator had burned up the battery along with internal component failure on the alternator.i paid the dealer $ 1,274.09 for the repair.the dealer statement indicated internal failure on the alternator.4 weeks later chrysler announced a recall on the 2011 through 2014 chrysler 300 alternator for "internal component failure could cause alternator total failure and fire".chrysler is refusing to acknowledge my vehicle under this recall stating that the chrysler 300 is the only model impacted using a 160 amp alternator and that my vehicle, a chrysler 300 s model uses a 180 amp alternator and is not covered under this recall.all the while the write up in the recall notice matches the exact write up from the technician who repaired my vehicle at a chrysler dealership 4 weeks prior to the recall announcement.i would like for chrysler to acknowledge the failure in my alternator, which caught on fire, as covered under this recall and refund me my $ 1,274.09 due to vehicle safety issue.

My 18 year old son was driving the car at about 40-50 miles an hour on a very busy street in bellevue washington, a city he's not familiar with when the car suddenly shifted into park and would no longer accelerate. He had to think quickly and by the grace of god he was able to momentarily get the car in drive and pull over into a driveway. Once stopped the car would not shift into any other gear, it would revert back to park regardless of what gear you shifted it into. We tried to shift it into drive and it reverted back to park. This is the second very serious situation i've had with this car. The fuse happens over a year ago when the car just stopped running in the middle of driving. I almost got hit by a bus but luckily i was also able to think quick nd turn into a urgent care parking lot. It was a faulty alternator that was a part of a recall. I am very scared to drive this car and do not want my so. To ever drive it. It's supposed to be a second car for him to drive but its unsafe. I want chrysler to pay me out of my loan as i never want to drive this car again and i still owe $15,000 on this car.

Power window front driver side fail to go up at 29,000 miles

No apparent driving problem. Message came on dash "battery saver mode". Comments on internet about others having this issue may indicate alternator to fail and car engine cuts out unexpectedly. This did not happen to me yet but i am concerned and will contact chrysler as soon as holiday is over.

Received letter about a recall a month or so ago and so far have not heard anything.getting worried i do a lot of driving and want to make sure i am safe.

I own a 2013 chrysler 300c luxury 5.7l it ran fine as of april 5th 2021. On april 6th 2021 the car suddenly wouldn't start. Cranked forever and would eventually start. Had 0 oil pressure but just had an oil change a few hundred miles before. Codes were presented on the odb2 scanner tool. The car itself said something about a short or something. Tried everything i could to fix it and nothing worked. Eventually all the screens and gauges begin to seize out and the car dies. Won't even start. Battery was also checked and fine.

On 7.4.16 at approximately 9pm, i was at a traffic intersection waiting for the light to turn green. Suddenly, my car radio shut down, and on the information screen, a 'battery safe mode' message appeared. Then the lights went dim, the info-screen flashed white, and the windshield wipers started moving very slowly. At that point, i tried to put the car in neutral and shut it off, but the shifter was not responsive.then, all the screens went out and the car died. I called my roadside assistance to come to either jump or tow my car. The technician showed up and tried to jump start the vehicle, but to no avail.the car was then towed to a repair shop. The repair shop discovered that the 180 amp alternator was fried (in their words) and the alternator fried the battery as well.the repairs totaled approximately nine hundred dollars! (note) the first new alternator they installed was faulty.for a car under 3 years old, maintained impeccably, this is ridiculous to have an alternator fail in such a short period of time. I filed a complaint with chrysler corp. And discovered that there was a recall on a 160 amp alternator in the chrysler 300. I asked and they advised me that the manufacturer for both the 160 and 180 amp alternators is the same. The recall (october 8, 2014) for the smaller 160 amp alternator is ;nhtsa recall #14v-634, and chrysler recall # p60 respectively.it seems like the problem exists on both alternators. Chrysler corp. Should take a proactive and not reactive stance at this point.

In november 2014 i received a safety recall p60 / nhtsa 14v-634 indicating the alternator diodes have an issue, causing failure to engine, or possible fire.i have been unable to get the alternator repaired, or replaced.the dealer, and manufacture is telling me they do not have the parts, and i am afraid to drive my car.please assist is getting this issue fixed.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. While driving 20 mph, the battery saver mode sensor warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. In addition, the contact noticed an abnormal odor and smoke from the engine. The vehicle was unable to restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,054.

On 20170731 my 2013 chrysler 300s showed battery saver indicator on ignition. It also emitted a funny smell. I parked the vehicle. Aaa came out, and the technician changed the battery. When the car was started. What the technician identified as the alternator starting smoking and glowing. It had been the source of the smell. He had to throw his water on it to put it out. I read an article cnbc.com from 20170714 saying chrysler 300 vehicles had alternator fire risks: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/14/fiat-chrysler-recalls-1-point-33-million-vehicles.html . I never received notification from chrysler of such a recall even though the local service office has had my address and phone number for about a year. After towing to chrysler service in san jose, the service manager in san jose and their online chat help person said that the recall didn't apply to my specific vehicle. Additionally, the rep refuted that the announced recall was for an alternator even though the article clearly says "the automaker is also recalling 565,000 vehicles to replace their alternators because of fire risks. The company said hot ambient temperatures could lead to premature diode wear, may result in a burning odor or smoke, could impact the anti-lock braking system or lead to engine stalls." this is exactly what i experienced and the article says it applied to my year make and model of vehicle. I need to make sure chrysler/dodge is following up on this issue because people could die. Not only am i on the hook for $1k in costs for something that looks like a manufacturer hazard. I also don't know if related examination/replacement will occur on my vehicle... I need to know that proper precaution is taken.for reference the aaa contracted technician was from great america tow in san jose, ca. I can provide a reference number for his visit if contacted. He may provide more useful observations.

Multiple occurrences of dead battery / loss of power. Checked that no accessories had been left turned on. Have taken vehicle to dealer with each occurrence because even with charging / jump starting battery, battery loses charge after a few days. Found recall info on nhtsa web site, provided this to dealer, dealer claims there is no recall, even stated that the print out we provided from nhtsa was fake, claims they cant find any issue with vehicle and informs us that it is owner error.i would like to know how long i have to put up with this nonsense before it will be addressed. Do i have to wait until the vehicle is completely useless or issue causes vehicle accident?

17v-435 recall.message light shows on dash saying "battery saver mode". Take car to dealer who cannot understand why msg is showing.runs diagnostics and cannot find any problem.says does not have parts to replace the alternator that is on the recall.6 days later the car stops in the middle of the busy 4 lane road, dash light flashing, then flashing lights stop and car is dead, engine and all.called dealer, no answer.called aaa.tow truck towed car to nearest auto repair shop.auto repair shop found a defective alternator and battery damage.repair shop had no problem finding a replacement alternator. Replacement battery not available.

The chrysler 300c was parked in our garage for about a week.tried to start it and nothing happened.electronic throttle control (etc) light flashed.all symptoms pointed to a low battery.jump started 300 from our other car and drove to the dealer.by the time i got there the battery was charged from the generator.dealer kept it for 5 days and couldn't find a problem.there were other anomalies on the road.car would either not accelerate or engine would stall while driving.this became extremely dangerous on the interstate.couple weeks passed and start problem repeated, but this time the battery was completely dead.one symptom i noticed was that the brake pedal, which you have to depress while activating the push button start was locked and wouldn't move.repeated the above drill with the same results.this time, dealer had the car for 11 days and couldn't find problem.all along i'm paying lease and auto insurance fees for a car that's sitting at the dealer.dealer said they updated some of the electronic controllers per some technical service bulletins, but that they weren't related to my "no start/dead battery" issues. Chrysler customer service said they knew of no complaints, recalls, etc. Related to the above.have not experienced any problems recently.however, i've been starting the 300 more often and letting it run.i recently got a 2014 dodge journey which ended up with a dead battery after being parked for 5 days. I filed a separate complaint on the journey.have since bought a trickle charger.can't believe these are coincidences.there is no question chrysler has a basic design problem. All the electronics are draining the battery even when everything is shut "off".hope they're not covering it up like ford with their ignition switch.my next letter will be to [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300c. The contact stated that she received a unknown recall notification over 1 year ago. The contact took her vehicle to her local dealer (zeigler chrysler dodge ram located at 3939 stadium dr, kalamazoo, mi). The car just started like in the video i sent, was going to pick up my daughter's from school was not able to cus it didn't wanna work right so got the alternator repaired, and took it to autozone and got the battery and alternator tested both passed so they were good and it did not resolve the issue bought a refurbished pcm and also did not resolve.my problem so i was told that it's the tipm car has been parked since it started

The car simply shut down, no warning, driving about 60 on an interstate.nothing would work, power-steering was out, no brakes, nothing.the alternator was bad.chrysler has a recall on "some" of the vehicles with a 3.6l engine and a 160 amp alternator but it appears the same thing is happening to vehicles with different type engines or amps.this seriously needs to be addressed.i have researched on the internet and there are many many complaints and chrysler's dealerships, customer service, etc....simply say not included in recall.these cars are deathtraps waiting to happen.....the cars simply stop!!!!

I was stop at the gas station awaiting in line and the safe battery mode light came on and the car haisited and several warnings light came on it blinked orange on the dash. I was given a jumpstart and it didn't start i jumpstarted the car again and it started.i start to drive my car and couldn't control the steering wheel it shaked very hard and my car was stalling the safe battery mode light abs brake light brake fauilare warning lights came on a few other lights can on the dash was flickering the car was jerking and making soundsand very hard to controll i stop the car and got it into park i could feel the extreme heat off the car. When trying to stop the car i only drove a few feet and turn right .i have contact chrysler several times with only to be told just get you car repairs save receipts and we will refund the repairs and you submit yourreceipt

I drove my car in the morning. It seemed like it was going to stall when driving home. Parked the car. Latter got in my carto start it and it made a odd sound. I looked at the dash and check engine light. Lightning bolt. Anti lock wer lit. Ive not been able to start my car since. 3 months. 2013 chrysler 300 touring. It started reading 2 codes p0850 now its reading 7 codes. Never got it to turn over. Also my battery is draining.

My trunk is constantly popping, it was staying shut as long as the car was locked. Now it's popping all the time, when i turn on my car, when my cars off but i'm pumping gas, while i'm driving. It's crazy 😜. I brought it to the dealership but they thought it was mykey fob. That's not the issue. What could it be??? one day when it was super snowy out my car was parked and locked outside of my house and the alarm started going to off so i went out to see what was going on. My truck had popped. This has been happening for months

Chrysler taking too long to fix alternator recall. When will it be fixed?p60 / nhtsa 14v-634.

While driving my 2013 chrysler 300s on the highway the lights on my dash starting flashing. About another mile my radio shut off and would not come back on. I came upon my exit and stopped at the stop light and then my stability control and abs light came on.i drove a little further and i heard this whining noise and a message popped up.i checked the message and it said "battery saver mode". I turned in to my neighborhood and right when i was turning the corner the car completely shut down causing me to lose control (no power steering) and no brakes.when the vehicle came to a complete stop the dashboard lit up again and the windshield wipers came on i looked at the control and they were not turned on and i could not turn them off.eventually the wipers stopped and all power was lost, no inside lights, no radio, no touch screen, no head lights...nothing! i googled "battery saver mode" and read that it was possibly my alternator.i then saw where there was a recall for chrysler alternators with descriptions of the same scenario that i just had, so called the recall center. I was told that my car did not fall under the recall because i did not have 160 amp (i have 180).from what i've been reading there are issues with the 180 amps also, but chrysler has not recalled those. I was told by the recall center to hold on to my receipts for the repairs because "if and when" they do a recall on the 180 amps i can be reimbursed.mean while those of us with the 180 amps are taking a chance on our lives! come on chrysler you all know that these alternators are bad....180 and 160 amps!!!

We have had so many complaints with this car and the dealership always says it is our problem. Upon driving we will smell something burning and now the ac or heat do not work properly. The gear will jump out of place when driving or trying to park. Than you try to put it in drive or reverse and the gear will not move sometimes. No matter if its on the highway or street we have these same problems. I put it happen it january 2017 but these things been happen way before than

I received a notice that my 2013 chrysler 300 was under a recall for alternator issues.i already had noticed that my vehicle warning lights had flashed the alternator with the lightning bolt twice recently.then my cruise went out, abs service light came on and stayed on and my traction control light came on and stayed on.the days after i reviewed the recall notice i schedule an appointment to have my car services at [xxx]in savannah ga, off abercorn st.when the service person took my car i identified the issues and he said that he will check it over to include checking the wheel sensors.noting the wheel sensors specifically, made me a bit suspicious.later he called me and stated that a wheel sensor went bad and it was not relational to the recall notice.he said he has the part and it would be $187 to fix it.i stated that the notice states that the wheel sensor could be impacted.he said, no sir it reads the module not the sensor and they are not close to each other.i find this technicality not fair to the consumer and i feel that this should be included in the recall.my car has 39k miles on it, is serviced regularly and has never had an issue.i find it hard to believe that the cruise, abs, and traction control going out at the same time has nothing to do with the recall.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I entered the intersection cars were in front of me. I slightly touched my brakes and the car stalled and didn't and wouldn't get speed of exhaustion. A car came speeding the opposite direction and collided into the rear of vehicle.i contacted chrysler recall center and they refused to take the car back or forward the call to upper management.i spoke with drake dm1915 this morning that wasn't helpful or sentimental to the issues. Very arrogant and unconcerned. I had another encounter in the snow on 02/23/2015 where i had to leave my car in my work parking lot because my brakes would not traction the road and made a noise. I'm afraid to continue drive this vehicle.

I want to knowhas many recall has my car referente in seat belt body parts, electrical and propulsin parts

At 7:30 pm on the fdr drive approaching exit 17 at about 45 mph. My chrysler 300 went completely dead while driving with my children in the car. No warning the car just came to abrupt stop sliding for about 10 feet before fully stopping. Thank god it was still bright out so i can and other driver was able to see me to avoid hitting the car otherwise we could of been dead or a very nasty accident. Diagnostic shows misfire in cylinder 8. Vehicle has 123,000 miles on it. I am told it isa lifter or cam and that i need a new engine. This vehicle is 7 years old and has been maintained. After reading reviews the hemi engine is known to break down. The estimated cost for a new engine approximately $ 7,000. Vehicle all of a sudden idled very rough took in and major work needed to be done. Wish chrysler would back their vehicle.

Alternator went out, car went into battery saver mode. This is the second time this has happened. Initially i was told that the battery was bad/weak. Changed it out, and after 2 months i am having the same problem again. There is an obvious problem with chrysler's supplier for these alternators. I have seen that my vehicle is not the only one having this issue

I received a safety recall notice in the mail in jan 2015 concerning the alternator. I have contacted the dealership 8 times over the course of the last year and they keep telling me i am on the list and they will get to me.we are now going on 14 months and no action. The dealership i have been calling is :nyle maxwell supercenter  address: 13401 ranch rd 620 n, austin, tx 78717i have talked with troy at extension 8011 on this matter. I have kept a call log on all 8 of my inquiries over the course of said 14 months and the last call was on 11-21-15.still no movement in getting this 'what seems to be serious' issue.is this normal 'cheers~[xxx]'information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

Driving on the highway at appx 30-40 mph and car started smelling like burned plastic and smoke, started making a high pitched humming sound, the traction control light and the engine light and the abs brake lights all came on as my car was slowing down, opened the hood and there was smoke coming from the engine, car would not turn back on, no electric worked, battery is destroyed, car vin is not listed under the current recall even though i am finding the same complaint from others with my same car. Also, my car was just worked on there at the dealer last week for an electrical issue and the problem was not discovered at that time, dealer is not being very helpful, this is very dangerous to be in the car with my kids and my car starts smoking! - i have video of it happening from last night that will not upload here, please contact me! very dangerous!

After first recall with alternate all electronic systems started to fail suspension was going bad

Was at a red light and car started to shake then i pulled over off the road and shut it off and my car never started back up again

The contact owns a 2013 dodge charger. The contact stated that the alternator failed. While the driver drove the low battery warning light illuminated and a burning odor emitted from under the hood. The contact inspected the vehicle and replaced the engine oil and the engine operated as normal. However, a few weeks later while attempting to start the vehicle, a burning odor emitted again from under the hood. The contact inspected the vehicle and found that the top to the alternator was burned. The vehicle was parked at the contact's home. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer for inspection. The manufacturer advised the contact that the parts were unavailable for repair. However, the contact was advised to replace the alternator and he will be reimbursed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number 17v435000 (electrical system) but the notification was not received. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Vin tool confirms recall incomplete remedy not yet available.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. While driving approximately 35 mph, the check engine indicator illuminated. The failure mileage was approximately 35,500.

Attempt was made to accelerate from 60mph, to pass another vehicle. The accelerator was depressed and the engine immediately slowed, resulting in the vehicle's speed being reduced to a crawl causing potential harm from approaching vehicular traffic. Vehicle was not able to resume speed for several seconds even while the accelerator was being depressed. There were several close encounters with approaching traffic until the vehicle was able to resume speed. This occurred following a visit to the dealership to describe prior incidents. The dealer "updated" the computer but were not able to give a reason for the occurrence or verify if the condition was corrected.... Obviously it was not. Where does one go from here other than to report it on this site?

Coming to stop on city street engine shut off and was able to turn engine on after putting in park.after inspection noted engine oil at engine oil filter adapter housing base and leaking onto lower oil pan, drive pulleys, around alternator noted oil residue

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. The contact stated while reversing at approximately 2 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The failure recurred twice. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

My engine light has turned on and the reading says it's cylinder #2 misfire. It came out of no where and from what i've seen and heard it is a common issue. My car is basically brand new and very well taken care of but it has needed every recall and for some reason something this serious and common is not covered. It shakes while it idles it's not running great and this could bring on many more problems.

Had entered a side-street off bedford st in lexington ma (ma 4/225) at about 10 a.m. And was stopped, with the engine running and in drive, by a line of traffic ahead of me. While idling, therewas a loud sound and a jolt felt in the car, but the engine was still idling. The dashboard display had "awd service" and then another word which i don't recall. When i went to put the transmission in park, i found the handle shifter already showed "p" and so did the dashboard display. When i tried to change the setting with the handle shifter, pulling toward "d" did nothing (still showed "p") and pushing forward produced a message on the dashboard display about the transmission already being in the selected position. Turning off the engine and restarting it (which proceeded normally) and retrying to change the shift position resulted in the same behavior (i.e., no change trying to move to "d" and the message in the display about already being in the selected position). Had to have the car taken on the bed of a tow truck to my local chrysler dealer. (as the transmission appeared to be in park, that entailed dragging the car onto the bed of the tow truck and then "bouncing" it off the bed at the dealer. Last advice i have been provided by the dealer (was today) is that they are awaiting advice back from chrysler about a new transmission. Note: extraordinarily lucky that i was stopped on a side street in the right-most of the two lanes when this catastrophic failure occurred. Hard to imagine just how horrific it would have been if it had occurred when traveling on the interstate highway--which i had been doing just a few minutes before i had turned off to travel on bedford st.....updated 11/03/17

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. While driving 65 mph, the engine warning light illuminated. The failure mileage was 89,000.

While driving using adaptive cruise controlthe car seems to hesitate for a second, drop into a lower gear and the top speed is limited - the check engine and the traction control warning lights go on.a message also appears saying "fcw off", and the acc will not work. Turning the engine off and restarting removes all indications of the problems except for the check engine light, which goes off eventually. Was able to get to a dealer with the check engine light on and was told that the light went out while testing, other time they could not find any problems, but updated software and replaced a switch. This seems to happen on long trips and much to my personnel concerns when i'm in the left lane on the interstate with traffic when the car conks out.

The forward collision warning (fcw) does not work.info i have received is that fcw was part of the adaptive cruise control(acc) and only works as part of that system.the chrysler manual does not say that the acc has to be on for fcw to work.fcw is a completely different topic from acc in the manual.fcw is supposed to work when you come up behind a car even without the acc on.in my car the fcw activates at times when the acc is off and it picks up something on the right such as a car in front of me turning right onto another road.other manufactures such as ford and hyundai have fcw that works without the acc on.while not relieving the driver from needing to brake, fcw is a safety feature i paid for, and i want it to work.i have made several trips to two different dealers to try to get the fcw fixed with no success .

High and low beams suck.

Just purchased used chrysler 300 in clermont fl.from chrysler dealer. Drove the car home to tn. Our home is rural area in subdivision on lake and most roads in this area are rural hwys. And streets. The day after getting home my wife and i went to dinner at restaurant approx. 25 miles away. By time we started home it was dark and immediately, as soon as i turned onto unlit state road, visibility on low beams was almost non existent going downhill and in dips. The low beams illuminate only 10-20 ft. In front of the car with almost no side illumination in dips and downhills. Other drivers with same complaint call it a shutter or tunnel effect and i agree. Side roads and street turns are very difficult as you can not see either readily. Since then my wife drove the car and had to come home in dark and said see nearly wrecked because of the problem and refuses to drive it at night. This is very serious and extremely dangerous defect in design and must be addressed before (if it not already) serious accidents occur, reading chrysler forums shows this is not knew problem with many complaints contributed to this situation.

There was no crash but there is a huge safety issue. The headlights on the car are the worse i've ever encountered (owner 12 cars). When you turn the corner on a un lit street there is a big blind spot left and right. I have almost already hit 3 parked cars close to the cornet because you cannot see them nor the curb. Even driving on a road it looks like there are blinders on the lights left and right. Checked with the dealer and there are no adjustments to be made. I don't understand how this huge safety issue escaped everyone's attention. Can you please respond to this issue.

Chrysler manufacture is aware and has acknowledged the safety issue pertaining to the lighting or rather there the lack of lighting. What is it going to take for something to be done ?? fatalities . Iwas assured that they would resolve the issue however i am still driving a car that i paid good money for and can't drive at night.i took my car back to the dealership on three occasions for them to adjust the headlights as there is no lighting to the left or right sides in rural areas. After the 2nd attempt to correct the problem unsuccessfully one of the technicians that worked at the dealership met me the next evening at night and saw for himself and he reported to his bosses that there was a very serious problem. The dealership advised and gave contact info to directly contact chrysler this was on 6/27/13the following day received email and a ph. Call stating that the design team at chrysler examined the identical model and acknowledged there was a definite safety issue assigned a case# and quote " there is in fact a factory defective flaw/characteristic in the design of the car pertaining to its headlights" unquote . I have almost ran over a mother and child out walking, i have been in 2 ditches and a inch from going into the river not to mention the animals. There is no excuse for dragging theirfeet it was explained to me that with it being a luxury car they didn't have enough complaints as luxury cars were seldom on rural roads especially at night . I am a disabled veteran been thru a lot and it would be a shame to meet my maker due to the self absorbed exec's at chrysler . I fill certain that they wouldn't for a second pay for a vehicle that couldn't be safely driven at night. I have all of the dates and p.o.c.'sthe case # assigned by chrysler please resolve the issue before it takes an innocent life if it hasn't already..

The headlight brightness on the 300 model are just terrible. I took it back to the dealership to try to adjust the lights. The dealer told me that these lights are not adjustable and this is how they came from the factory. I explained to them at night i drive with the high beams on and no other cars flash their lights. The low beams do not light up the road even with the fog lamps on. The dealership told me that this was a huge problem on the 200 series but have not heard about this on the 300. This is a safety defect which will result in death. This is a serious issue.

At 7:30 pm on the fdr drive approaching exit 17 at about 45 mph. My chrysler 300 went completely dead while driving with my children in the car. No warning the car just came to abrupt stop sliding for about 10 feet before fully stopping. The engine went dead the light went off i couldn't steer nothing on the car works, never seen anything like that in my life. Thank god it was still bright out so i can and other driver was able to see me to avoid hitting the car otherwise we could of been dead or a very nasty accident. The nypd came ask what happen they said it's the alternator i used a jumper i had in the back to jump it it started i exit the highway it stop dead again no warning on 125 st. The officers activated the shift lock and help me push it to the side of the road. Where i paid $217 to have it towed to brooklyn. Called star chrysler sunday explaining what happen they said their service dept closed sunday. Called back 7 am monday, they won't even come tow or send a tow truck. Miss terry telling me it's my responsibility to have the car towed to them. I paid another $190 to tow the car from brooklyn to queens village ny. Got there they insist i leave the car and go home don't even want to say why thecar almost killed me and my kids. Tuesday 7 am i called for an update miss terry said we didn't get to look at it yesterday we'll try to get it in today, is she kidding me. That so irresponsibly

I have a serious problem with headlights: at night1.low beam headlights are so weak2. High beam does not add much to the already weak dimmed low beam.3. Chrysler should recall these headlights for safety concerns.

Headlights are nearly useless.car cannot be driven safely at night.dealer states headlights are aligned and working normally.state vehicle inspenction stated headlights aimed ok.this is a known problem and needs to be addressed before a pedestrian is hit or someone drives off the road. It is unsafe to dirve on interstate at night over 40 mph because you overdrive your headlights.if there is no one to follow you are out of luck.one must drive side roads with hi beams on all the time.headlights aim is computer controlled and cannot be adjusted.turning off the capability of the headlights to move side to side with steering does not help. My 2006 chrylser 300 did not have this problem and our 2102 dodge charger does not have this problem.i will gladly submit vehicle to nstsa for inspection/test.

The headlights on this model are the worst i have ever seen.forward vision is severely limited and side vision is practically non-existent.the only incident i have had so far is impact with a raccoon that damaged the front fascia but the raccoon could just as easily have been a person or larger animal.chrysler needs to address this issue promptly before there is a fatal accident.

The lighting on this car is unbelievably bad.when i purchased the car, i drove it home at night, and almost put it in a ditch twice, due to substandard lighting.even with the high beams on, it was difficult to see the road.i took it to the dealership the next day and they adjusted the headlights to the upper limits.i can now see better with the low beams, but the high beams shine into the trees.when i took it back to the dealership again, they said that there was nothing they could do beyond what they had already done.i have been reading other complaints of the same safety issue, andit is obvious that this problem in not unique to my vehicle, but extends to the chrysler 300 built in 2012 and 2013.lack of proper lighting presents a definite safety hazard at night, and chrysler should be made to fix this problem before someone is killed because of it.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. The contact stated that the low beams and the parking lights were extremely dim. Upon parking during evening hours, the visibility was poor on the low beam headlights and the parking lights. The contact also received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system) and stated that the part was not available for several months. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. Taillights stopped working. No breaklights and not turn signals. Dealership has no idea for the failure. There are several units with this problem. This is a safety issue and a state traffic violation.

I purchased a new chrysler 300s and the very first time i drove it at night i could not believe how dim the headlights were. You can barely see 10 - 15 feet in front of you. I have since been looking into changing the bulbs to something else to see if that will help. It's very dangerous to have that kind of limited vision. I live in a very rural area and there aren't many street lights in my neighborhood. This is something chrysler needs to find a solution to and fix for all of us driving unsafe at night.

The lighting is so poor on rural roads that you must drive with the brights on. The low beams only work for the first 15 feet or so and then when going down a slight decline the far distance or "night horizon" just disappears like a curtain dropped down from the top of the windshield. You literally lose sight of the road.same situation when turning.its really scary.i spoke with the service manager and he said he drove one home and almost ran off the road.he agrees with my problem.i'm told there is no fix.if this is not addressed i guarantee there will be accidents with this car. I'm told if there are enough complaints something will be done by your organization.help--i don't want to die for something like this.

I in october of 2013 i purchased a chrysler 300 new from central chrysler in raynham ma. It has a 36000 mile powertrain warranty as well as a 15000 mile no hassle warranty. My transmission began to shift harshly (automatic transmission) in february of 2014, and i received service in april of 2014. I was told the transmission required a part that was not yet manufactured by chrysler, but that i would have the part in late may or early june. Not only have i not received the part, i was told by chrysler corporate that the part is not even in development. The dealer will do nothing except revalue the car at a significant loss to me financially and that is predatory and inappropriate. I have involved the attorney generals office to investigate this issue as well as the chrysler corporation. The dealership refuses to revisit the transmission issue currently. I am driving and paying for a car that is "operating as designed" which is a design flaw with no fix offered, in direct violation of the warranty. I have brought the car back to 2 additional dealerships with no fixes or repairs possible as of yet. This is a badly designed car with extremely poor service from both corporate and dealership levels.

My vehicle keeps shifting into park on it's on while i'm driving after a gear recall was performed. I was advised by marty cancila dodge st. Louis, that it was something else but they repaired whatever they thought it was and it it is still doing it after driving the vehicle back home. This makes my vehicle undrivable due to safety reasons for my children and i. Can someone please investigate this matter thoroughly as my life and my children's lives are at risk! it occurred when i was driving, in motion, on a street and backing out of my driveway the second time after repairs were made.

My vehicle is a chrysler 300s and has auto shift "paddles" located a few inches from the steering wheel and the audio system controls.any slight touch to these paddles while driving causes the vehicle to immediately downshift into first gear, regardless of how fast you are traveling.according to the owner's manual this downshifting into first gear should be no problem, but i strongly disagree.i can see the rpms soar as my vehicle tries to go 70 mph in first gear.this is a dangerous add-on that few drivers want or need.i have asked whether these "paddles" can be disabled and have been unable to find a solution.these paddles are not only worthless to the average driver, but are a major hazard on the highway.less than 30 minutes after i bought my new vehicle it shifted into first gear while on chicago expressways traveling at over 70 mph.i had no option but to pull into the emergency lane and stop.once i turned off my vehicle and restarted it, the car was in the correct gear, but then i had the problem of merging into 70 mph traffic on a busy interstate highway.since then, i have learned to shift into neutral whenever the "paddles" engage - a very poor solution when driving on expressways.i view these "paddles" as an poorly conceived engineering idea that needs to be corrected before this inadvertent downshifting into first gear causes accidents or deaths.i also wonder what all of this downshifting is doing to quality of my transmission.- [xxx] , chicago, ilinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving, i experienced a jerking from the car when i press on the gas and when i come to a complete stop. After doing this for awhile it became even more noticeable. One night while driving the vehicle on the interstate, i felt the jerking again and a stalling when pressing the accelerator. The car the shut off on me in the middle of the interstate. I had to immediate start it back again and the malfunction indicator light came on and stayed on until the next day i took it in to the dealership. Was informed then that it was a transmission problem but they wont be able to fix it. They gave the vehicle back in the same condition except for the malfunction indicator light. I took it to another dealership the next week and they noticed the same thing and said the same thing and that chrysler wouldn't authorize them to fix it. I notified chrysler as well and they couldn't give me an answer as to why. Brand new vehicle purchased in january that has lost power while driving and keep been told its the transmission.

I found a recall for chrysler 300 (n65), but it's only for a 3.6l model. I have a 5.7l hemi awd and the output shaft just broke while driving in the highway. I cannot be the only one... There has to be others. I just had another recall fixed on this car. They just need to recall this entire model. Is there any chance 5.7l will also be recalled on this issue?

Drivers side seatbelt will not lock

I was in an accident with my son as the passenger. We were traveling at 55mph when a vehicle pulled out in front of me. I never hit brake as there was no time...we drove through the front of his car. Impact was so hard his radiator was shifted to the left side of his car. My son bore the brunt of the impact as the hit was on the passenger side. None of the air bags went off nor did his seat belt tighten. He hit his shoulder on the side window and cracked it. I know in 2012 and 2014 chrysler had issues with air bag inflators and seat belt tension devices on the 300 model.

I was backing down the driveway of my dad's house ..there was recycling bins to the left side of the driveway which i was gong to hit if not moved or if i did not re-position the car in the driveway. I stopped the car and decided not to get out of the car to move the recyclingbins but to put it in drive to re-position the car in the driveway ....stepped on the gas ..and bam...bamm...in 3 seconds i went like a bat out of [xxx]...through the 2 closed garage doors and the concrete wall between the two closed doorsand coming to a stop after crashinginto their dining room exterior wall.it took two times pushing the starter button before the engine shut off.the air bag never went off.it all happened so fast....i may have had my foot on both the gas and the brake at the same time (they are pretty close together) and the gas took over propelling the car forward through the garage.when applied at the same time which is programmed to take over???the gas or the brake? there seems to be several different quirky things that happened in that car with me on that scary dayin march. The abs control module for several chrysler vehicles is unavailable for purchase at this time.the abs is effectively disabled as a result of lack of parts.when i spoke with a dealer parts department, there were hundreds of these modules backordered with no fulfillment date available.the part numbers necessary for my specific vehicle are 68195727aa (original) and 68210119ab (replacement).i am concerned with the loss of anti-lock braking ability for hundreds of chrysler vehicles.

The brake would not press down to start vehicle, it felt as if there was a mass amount of air pressure locking the brake so the car could not be started. This is now the third time this has happened randomly.

Was driving car about 25mph and the power steering shut off. I thought the car had shut off. The wheel was almost impossible to steer pulled up to stop sigh to check if car was still running. It was when i pulled away the power steering was working again. A few days later my wife was driving about 40mph and it happened to her. She was going around a corner, luckily there was no oncoming traffic as she had to swing into other lane and apply brakes. Very very scared. We had the car towed to the dealership. Where it is still. They can see via there computer that it happened, but can't fix it. I talked to chrysler customer service and they said basically since they can't find the issue there isn't one. Even though they can see that it happened. Was told to refer to my white and blue book that came with the car. I asked what happens if i kill somebody because of this issue. Again refer to your book.

In march 2019 i took my car to the dealership because a chromed section on the steering wheel was peeling back and had caused me to cut my thumb on it. They looked at the car and they also called on my extended warranty and was told it would not be covered because it was cosmetic in nature. I tried working directly with the warranty (zurich) personnel and they seemed at first as though they would try to assist and then decided not to. I did not pursue it any further since. About a month ago i was driving the vehicle and my right hand thumb ran across another section of the steering wheel and it put a considerable cut in my thumb. I have a photo of that as well as the piece that broke off in my thumb. This problem is not cosmetic in nature but really is a safety issue. I am not sure if this is what is causing the problem but the steering wheel has the heated feature and i use it all the time in the winter. It does seem to get very warm from the heat and i am not sure if that could be contributing to the problem. I am very upset about the fact that this problem is something that will continue to get worse over time as the chrome plating continues to peel away. The problem does not exist from neglectful use, is very real, and again should be looked at from a safety standpoint. When i was driving the last time it happened, it caused a quick reaction to look down at my thumb to see what happened and certainly distracted my driving that suddenly. I would appreciate this being looked into for me as well any other driver that may have had similar problems.

On friday march 7, 2015 my car was parked outside of my home and the sunroof spontaneously shattered. I contacted chrysler directly about my 300 s and was told to contact my local chrysler dealership. Once i got in touch with the dealer they told me it's something they would have to contact chrysler about and they are unsure if my warranty will cover it. The dealer stated they have never heard of such a thing before, however i've seen numerous reports.

The under side of the front end of the car - including all suspension - control arms/bushings are completely rusted/dry rotted out on the car. The drivers side lower control arm needs to be replaced and the car only has 40,000 miles. This was first brought to our attention at 30,000 miles that there was a ton of rust on all the components. Went in for an alignment and was told that the drivers side lower control arm needed to be replaced. The situation has only gotten worse and the cost for repair is over $1000 for one side. Clearly with all the premature rust/wear - that is a known issue to chrysler, it is only a matter of time before the passenger side has to be replaced.the car vibrates substantially under any braking force. Feels like the tire is going to fall off the car. Cannot be safe to drive at any rate of speed.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. The contact stated that the front passenger's side lower control arm separate from the vehicle due to rust. The contact stated that none of the safety features alerted the contact of a potential failure in the vehicle. The failure caused the contact to veer to the left and crash into a guard rail. The contact was not injured and a police report was taken. The contact stated that the rear differential was also completely rusted. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer and repaired.the failure and the current mileages were 5,219.

From just after a few days of purchase, on all the suspension parts, there is tons of rust eating away at the suspension of my brand new car.this issue is on every single chrysler 300 being sold. And every single chrysler 300 is in danger.the front and rear suspension is on a ticking time bomb to rust, and break apart. The retaining ring around the bottom of the balljoint, the metal holding it on, can be scraped right off.i have emailed chrysler, they have no comment.you can visit a local chrysler dealer right now, and notice this issue.multiple consumers on chrysler300sforums.comrecognize this issue, and have tried to communicate with chrysler about itsimply put, the suspension was not coated properly in paint... And brittles right off.each part needs to be replaced.especially the control arm bushing rings, and tie-rod end retaining rings.smaller parts such as these, will collapse under great pressurei have videos, and pictures that document these findings. Along with multiple consumers with the same issues.do not let someone die over this issue!!!! file a recall to chrysler to replace our suspension and all affected parts!

Vehicle:2013 chrysler 300purchase date: november 10, 2013(418 miles at the date of purchase)date of vehicle breakdown:december 9th, 2013 (1309 miles at the date of breakdown)driven for 891 miles before defect scenario: i was coming home from work on december 9th, when the control arm on the front-driver's-side snapped while i was driving 25mph on a straight neighborhood road, causing the vehicle to swerve and almost crash into another moving car on the road.upon examination, heavy rust was found all over the suspension of the vehicle.damages: the rust damage is more than regular surface rust, and has eaten away at the control arm bushels, causing the front left control arm to separate from the vehicle while the vehicle was moving.the vehicle then collapsed onto its body, causing major body damage to the left side of the vehicle as well as the bumper.this means that every 2013 chrysler 300 could potentially be unsafe for operation and this issue needs to be addressed before there are injuries and deaths due to this defect.currently, both the dealer and chrysler corporation are refusing to deal with the safety concerns from the owners of this vehicle regarding heavy rust found on the chrysler 300 and other models, and are refusing to replace defective vehicles with safer vehicles as the lemon law requires the wheels to come off 2 more times before chrysler even considers to buy the vehicle back. This is not a complaint regarding a malfunctioning sunroof, faulty electronics, and headlight problems (which are also problems associated with this model), but a major safety concern that could lead to unnecessary injuries because the faulty mexican and chinese parts used to build the suspension are quick to rust and break. Please file your complaints with nhtsa and let them know that rusted suspension parts are grounds for a national recall.

Adjustable pedlas move up randomly when driving or park

I can hear avery loud knocking noise in the dash behind my instrument panel. It starts each time that i turn on the heater, the ac and defroster.this loud knocking sounds continues even when my car is turned off. Also there's flaking noises in my engine/transmission- my car is under 35k miles.

On 05/10/2015 during the afternoon i turned on my ac and it blew warm air. I don't use my ac very much due to increase fuel usage because i drive 76 miles twice a day 4 days a week, but on that day when i really needed it it wasn't working. I bought my 2013 chrysler 300s new on 06/02/2013 and the one time i drove car to vegas it was working fine as a matter of fact it was blowing extremely cold air which was great. I tried calling the dealer where i bought it, but because its out of warranty they can't or wont help me with it.

My chrysler 300 lx stated have transmission problems and i went to a chrysler after i had it look at, at a mechanic shop, because the check engine light came own. , all they did was hook up the car for a diagnostic test, the print out read something to do with power tran modual. They said take it to chrysler, so i did. Chrysler said the computer locked up the codes, so they can not get a reading of the problem. I said can you do something about it, they said until the light comes back own, they can not do nothing. I said the car is unsafe, they said nothing. I call chrysler customer service, they said nothing they can do. My car is unsafe to drive, the problem with the transmission is covered, and i need me car. I am own blood thinners and high blood pressure pills, i have to have my blood monitored. Can some body help me.

Took vehicle to dealer to repair ac issue.was given vehicle and drive it less than a mile when the vehicle dash stated "transmission shut vehicle off and put in park" when i attempted to place it in park the gear shift would not come out of drive. The only way to stop the vehicle is to put on the emergency brake.

Driving on freeway battery saver mode came on then after all the lights on my dash stated flashing then after my car stalled i have no control in my vehicle then almost crash into someones vechicle.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. While driving approximately 55 mph, the front passenger side wheel separated from the vehicle. The vehicle crashed into a guardrail. During the crash, the front end of the vehicle was damaged and the air bag sensor indicator illuminated; however, the air bags did not deploy. No injuries were reported and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to heritage chrysler (9428 reisterstown rd, owings mills, md). The cause of the failures was not determined. The vehicle was repaired. Also, while operating the vehicle, the gear shift lever would erroneously move from drive to neutral, as if it were accidentally bumped. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer was not notified of the power train failure. The failure mileage was 4,500.

With my child in the car, on a major interstate, i accelerated to avoid a suddenly swerving 18-wheeler. My car continued acceleration after i released the pedal. I depressed the brake pedal, but couldn't get it to stop. As soon as possible (and available, given road work and fast, heavy traffic), i pulled over to the inside shoulder and gained control by using full pressure on the brake as well as engaging the parking brake. The car continued revving high. Called conroe demontrond for help, as that is where i bought this car, and they connected me to a towing company, which was useless as car couldn't be switched off -- i had managed to put car into neutral, but engine wouldn't stop revving, and i wasn't able to put it into park or to stop the car. I had to make a decision between two dangerous situations:send my child onto the packed highway, or have her remain in the car with me, which i was growing alarmed might explode given the high revolution and accompanying noise. I sent her out with the car fob. After what seemed forever, the car shut down, as the fob was gone for long enough. It happened a second time, as i was returning from the trip i had to take during the first problem, but the car "snapped out of it" more easily. Dealership gave me a very hard time about this, and in the end said nothing was wrong with the car. They re-set the computer, and for a bit over a month, it seemed okay with a few hiccups, but eventually, the car has begun to "stick" on acceleration again, and occasionally now lags, or misses, before acceleration. I received note that there is a problem with this car from the manufacturer months ago. This might account for the car's problem, but it is doubtful as far as the sticking goes, since the problem listed by the notice is stalling. I do wonder if it might account for the newer problem, though. Yesterday, the sunroof exploded

Car was parked most of the day went to start the vehicle to go somewhere and it would not start all lights came on and wipers moved which were never turned on to begin with as well as the engine light which had never been on as long as i had the vehicle after about 10 minutes of this the vehicle finally started after taking the vehicle to the shop the guys says it seems like the alternator is stalling he told me about the recall and as i look it up by vin mine does not appear to be on the list. The mechanic stated that this vehicle should be under recall t36.

On the gear shift lever of my vehicle, there are jagged, hard plastic pieces between the leather and the shift lever that continuously cuts my fingers while shifting gears. The cuts are similar to papercuts. One time, a piece of the hard plastic broke off and got stuck in my hand, which required tweezers to remove. Very painful.

Alternator goes out and caused car to stall at high speed without notice.

Received letter about a recall a month or so ago and so far have not heard anything.getting worried i do a lot of driving and want to make sure i am safe.

Touch screen is constantly frozen: unable to utilize voice recorder and bluetooth which is necessary for phone calls and gps. It is unlawful in florida to text and drive. It is also hazardous to text and drive. Therefore a bluetooth is necessary

While driving, the car's gas pedal becomes unresponsive. You can not accelerate. In multiple incidences, i have been nearly hit on the freeway due to my abrupt loss of acceleration. The car was taken to the dealership where they had the car for 2 days and informed me that the car was fine. In the final incident, i was going 75 in heavy traffic when the car began to lose speed. I could not accelerate or get the car to go. The car's check engine light came on, and the car had to be towed 70 miles to my home because it is unsafe to drive. It has been 5 days and still have not heard from chrysler.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. While driving 50 mph, there was a loud noise and the vehicle shift lever independently moved from drive into neutral. The contact was able to place the vehicle back in drive. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact also stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was a loose terminal on the battery and alternator. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Updated 10/13/16*lj

In october 2015 i was driving driving my 2013 chrysler 300 v6 awd (with 25,000 miles) on a two lane highway (cruise control was on) when i decided to pass a semi-truck that was traveling well below the speed limit. When i accelerated to wide open throttle (wot) to pass the truck i moved into the opposite lane and saw a car in the distance. I changed my mind, released the gas pedal, and applied the brakes; however, the engine continued to produce full power (appx 4,500-5,000 rpm) for another 4-5 seconds. I applied the brakes fully and was able to slow the car and safely get back to the right lane. I notified the dealer of the incident during a service visit and his response was that the throttle is drive by wire and there is no cable that can get stuck. His solution was to check the floor mat and make sure it was on the pedal and if it happens again to bring the car in and they will check it out. I removed the floor mat after the incident (currently in the trunk) and did not have another issue. However, my wife was driving the car on monday december 21, 2015 and told me a very similar story (went to full throttle for 1-2 seconds and when she released the pedal it continued to accelerate). I already have an appointment for saturday with the local dealership for routine maintenance and will report the issue during the visit.

The contact owns a 2013 chrysler 300. While passing another vehicle on the highway at approximately 80 mph, the vehicle accelerated to over 105 mph. The contact had to apply extreme force to the brake pedal to slow the vehicle down. The vehicle was slowed down and driven to the side of the road. The vehicle was then turned off and restarted. The vehicle remained parked due to the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

Adjustable pedlas move up randomly when driving or park

Speed sensor and sensor wheel hub have been replaced on two wheels to reactivate abs and speed control that failed. Equipment error message appeared on my display screen informing me of the failure. Car was moving when the message appeared.

Attempt was made to accelerate from 65 mph, to pass another vehicle. The accelerator was depressed and the engine immediately slowed, resulting in the vehicle's speed being reduced and causing potential harm from approaching vehicular traffic. There was no way to resume speed until several seconds passed and a slow acceleration was then possible.

My moon roof exploded on my 2013 chrysler 300s.i bought it in august and on november 5th this occurred.i was driving 65mph down the freeway and heard a loud explosion that i initially thought was a tire but the wind i heard was coming from above me when my moon roof was closed.my moon roof shade was closed and i could hear sounds of wind and glass falling onto it.i did not see any debris coming at me when this occurred.if my moon roof wasn't closed i would have been showered with glass.i pulled off at the nearest exit to take pictures of the damage and called in to have an officer show up to file a police report.pictures show the glass bowing in an upward fashion.i have found multiple incidents and claims similar to mine on the internet.i will never drive with my moon roof shade open while the glass is closed.i have a wife and two little girls 3yrs and 9 months that if this happened again while they were in the car would be a catastrophe.i regret that i purchased the model with a moon roof.being that there are so many people writing about these explosions, i would like to see something make it to the media the same way that suv rollovers did years back ensuring that consumers knew of a great danger that could come until manufacturers paid more attention to the issue at hand. My dealership told chrysler that they were unable to identify what caused the explosion / glass breakage.the explosion and glass shattering caused paint damage to the car as well.being that my dealership told chrysler that they could not verify the cause, chrysler's stance is that they are not willing to do anything.after seeing the amount of incidents similar to mine across multiple makes and models of vehicles,i feel additional awareness should be given to consumers regarding sun / moon roofs.manufactures should take more responsibility on this.

Went thru a drive thru my vent was open so i decided to close it & the entire glass shattered! i called the dealership & they said drop it off. The asst. Mgr called me back mon. & asked what happened, i told him. The next day he called & said they found the problem, a piece of paper that i wrote gps directions 2 weeks prior was stuck in the mechanism. I was like, a piece of paper? i went to the dealership to have them show me the paper. I told them there was no way that piece of paper that was in the cubby in front of the shift lever: flew past my head folded 2 more times & stuck in the vent mechanism, thus shattering the glass. The paper (5"x 8") had only been in the car for 2 weeks & was folder in 1/4's not 16ths. I said there is no way that piece of paper flew past my head, folded 2 more times (was now 1.5" x 2") & stuck in the mechanism. They said because of this it is not under warranty. I've talked to friends, insurance comp (local & main agent), 6 other mechanics (2 at other chrysler dealerships), all say bogus! the ins. Adjuster said in his 30 yrs he has never heard of such a thing or did he believe it! i bought the car dec. 2012, it has 4800 miles so i'm appalled! i added to the edmunds forum & received a reply from the 'host' of the forum: #160 of 161 re:2013 chrysler moonroof glass shattered [bhertz300] by [xxx] host nov 15, 2013 (12:01 pm), replying to: bhertz300 (nov 13, 2013 5:46 am) wow. That has to be the most bizarre "blame" story i've seen in this discussion. There are a lot of instances of dealership service personnel blaming the incident on the owner dropping something on the sunroof, or something spontaneously falling from the sky onto the sunroof, but this is definitely the first "magic paper" excuse i've seen!it's a shame that either service personnel are blaming it on an outside force, or don't know about potential defects in glass. Cabin air recirculate stops working. Chrysler says that is normal function. But when you are driving behind a diesel vehicle, you are stuck breathing that air, and it makes me sick. It goes on occasionally, but only for a minute or two. Then it goes off, and you cannot turn it back on. I have driven many miles in many climates and get the same result. I have owned a chrysler 300 before and it did not function like this. Nor, any other vehicle i have owned.

The windows would not roll back up it's been to the shop numerous times we had the same problem with our dodge caravan i'm so over chrysler cause we keep having same problems.

I was driving on freeway and sunroof exploded.there was no rocks or any adverse weather.

In year 2013 bought a brand new chrysler 300c 2013 zero mile for $45,000, i took the car to a chryslerdealer service center on daytona beach for oil change and i got told i need to replace all 4 tires. I ask them how can a 15,000 miles car will need new tires and they told me firestone don't give any kind warranty to the tires the sell to chrysler manufacture for brand new car and those was less quality to the tires they sell on the tires centers.we called the firestone and they told me the same thing no warranty on those new tires because the tires they sell to car's manufacture are less quality.and if i buy the firestone tires from any tire center i will get 50,000 miles warranty. Now i have to buy new tires but for sure will not be firestone and pay for on my new car with 15,000 miles only, yes i never saw new tires last 15,000 miles only. That is why i want to report this because don't know what kind tires chrysler is buying for new car with less quality what should have, chrysler and firestone are saving money giving to the consumer less quality of tires what can be danger because for a tire only last 15,000 have to be really bad quality material hey are using..i'm sure those tires are not safe for no one.thank you

Rear driver side tire developed a circular bulge around the whole tire suddenly while driving on vacation, ride was very bumpy and luckily the tire did not blow out.looks like a belt inside the tire failed.had to replace the tire.then two weeks later the same thing happened to the right rear tire so will then replace the remaining tires.the tires were zenna brand argus uhp ecosafe 245x45zrx20

Rotated tires, lug nut had to be chiseled off ,as metal cap over lug nut expanded ,so normal lug wrench would not work. Had to replace lug nuts. Was done at dealer , if i had a flat on the road car would have to been towed in.
