Takata recall. Expecting me to drive a vehicle where if i do happen to get in a crash, when the air bags deploy, instead of saving my passengers life as it should, the airbag can disperse metal fragments killing passengers in my car. You should be recalling entire vehicles based on this danger and replacing vehicles.

I bought my chrysler 300 new in 2011. Around september 2013, i started experiencing problems with the alternator. The "battery save mode" light illuminated, then shortly after the alternator light came on. My car then started to loose power, then eventually stop running. Had the car towed to the dealership, which i was told the alternator is bad. A new alternator was installed, not even a month went buy, the new alternator stop working. The dealership installed a second alternator and now i'm having issues with the alternator again, making this 3 alternators installed 1.5 years spread. This is the first and last chrysler i'll purchase.
In rush hour traffic going 60mph on the highway my car started losing power, the radio flickered on off and my car was still going but my gauges the radio, nothing worked. I was in the far left lane and was almost hit by a mac truck, trying to cross over three lanes to get to the service road. The engine stalled, it was hard to steer and luckily there was a gas station nearby. Three people tried to give me a jump and nothing woked and there was no prior warnings.i had to call a tow truck only to find that my alternator and battery were fried. The worst thing is i called chrysler to tell them about the p60 recall and they did not own up to thedefault until the second time i called from doing my own research. This could have been really bad for me because there was nothing that i could do after the engine stalled. I have owned three diffrent 300s over the lastten years and this will be my last. Someone should do something before someone loses their life and family members to issues that deserve immediate attention.additionally, i have spent all day on the phone trying to replace this part and the only place that carries the part is chrysler, what a ripoff. This will cost me over a thousand dollars for a car that i have not had a year and currently still making payments on.
After being repaired 3 times of the battery save mode illumination on the panel and the part repaired was the alternator the battery save mode still continues to come on and off and a weird loud noise comes from the front engine. I tookit in to have it checked and they told me to make an appointment because they didn't have time to check it that date i asked if i could still drive it around and the service repair specialist said their was no problem, i stated that the manual said the car should not be operated. It is a concern because they are not willing to work with me on my schedule to take the car in nor they offer to give me a rental and that is because i have the extended warranty and it covers a rental.
Amplifier radio is bad
2011 chrysler 300 alternator failed.*mwthe rotors were also replaced due to severe rust.
My car has been illuminating the "battery saving mode" in the dash board for the past 3 months. They have repaired it saying that i have a bad alternator. Well it has been in the shop and again the light is on. I took it to the shop and they said they didn't have time to check it for me to make an appointment and that it was save to drive.
Battery light came on the dash board took into the dealer shop and upon arrival it smelled like burn. The advisor was a witness. The outcome is a bad alternator again. They don't know what is the cause. It was just replaced 3 weeks ago.

While traveling on the hwy 29 n (the four lane) the abs, traction control and the battery indicator light illuminated.there was a burning smell and car stopped immediately and all the electronics were gone.i could not put on my emergency blinkers or get the car in gear to push off the highway.this incident put my life in danger and it really could have a tragic ending.with cars on all sides of me, not only was i in danger but i had four passengers in the car with me.two of them being my small grandchildren.a police officer saw my dilemma and came to our rescue to and assisted us until we got the everyone on the side of the highway.my car was towed to the nearest dealership.at the dealership the service manager said that the alternator shorted out and destroyed my battery.the cost to repair was $1450.00i called chrysler about the electronics and was told my car was not one that had a recallfor this problem..this automobile is totally unsafe to drive at high interstate speeds if the electronics can shut down with little warning.

So, i was parked waiting on hubby to get out of the store, with the car on, since he was just going to pick something up fast, it started to smell, like something was burning, like really bad, even my son, was complaining about the smell. Hubby comes back, and i tell him, and he said it smelled like burnt plastic, so we exit the parking, and on my way home, i felt the car weird,i proceeded, to a drive thru, where the smell came back again, we heard a weird noise, but didn't think any of it, as i was exciting the drive thru, the light of the battery came on, then all the lights in the car popped up, causing the car to stall, i parked, and turned off the car, and popped the hood open, there was smoke and smelled like it was burning, we with our kids got off the car, and waited a couple minutes, i called the chrysler dealership, and they told me, i had to tow it and take it in.hubby, turned it back on and it started making a loud noise, and the car started getting feeling forced, he turned it off again, and it felt heavy. We waited 20 minutes, and since we were just a block away from home, hubby drove it back home, and since then haven't moved it..
While driving on a freeway at about 10:30 pm my headlights shut off. My console went black and unresponsive, the brake light kept flashing, the car was dinging before any of the emergency lights came on, the windows weren't working consistently, the a/c stopped working, and eventually the check engine, abs, and traction control lights came on. I was able to exit and get the car to a gas station. The car would not restart after i turned it off. The car was towed to the closest dealer that night. The immediate response the next morning was that this was probably the alternator because they had seen a lot of similar problems. Four days later the dealer confirmed that the alternator was gone and that the battery would also need to be replaced. At my request chrysler was contacted and the nearly $1000 repair bill was reduced to a third with chrysler picking up all but the diagnostics and the cost of the battery and the labor to install it.
My radio shut off while i was driving and then the battery saver mode came on the dashboard. I called the dealer while i was driving.they said they never heard of that issue and bring it next day to be checked.while i attempting to turn my car lost all power and locked up in the intersection. I had no steering and every light turned on in the dashboard.i was then stuck in the middle of an intersection on an 8 lane highway.a separate accident was caused by this because i couldn't even get the flashers to work.luckily the dealer was right up the street and they were able to push it out of the intersection and get it to the dealership. I was called the next day and told the alternator was bad and it would cost $800 to replace it. How does this happen on a newer car and obviously this is a problem based on what i have read about others exact same experience.
The contact owns a 2011 chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. On saturday 11-1-14 i started the car and noticed that it sounded as though there was a slight hesitation starting. No warnings were present even when i reviewed all the possible ones via the information center. I drove the car to 2 destinations and with each start i noticed the same hesitation with increasing time. Again no messages provided by the vehicle. On the 3rd destination the car would not start at all even with attempts to jump start the car. I then purchased a battery and drove to the auto zone nearby and their tester revealed a dead battery so low that a jump was not possible. I took the car to my dealer with the info about recall p60 dated 10-8-14 that my vehicle perfectly matched. The alternator was replaced then i had 4 episodes of full panel alarms displayed and loss of ability to steer. Auto has been returned to dealer.
Driving vehicle on highway 70 mph, abs and traction control lights illuminated.took exit to get off highway and brake light came on.ac shut off and started high heat output from vents.radio shut down.was able to maneuver quickly through traffic to get to safe spot as vehicle shut down.had vehicle towed and diagnosis was failure of alternator (180 amp) which is not the 160 amp that is on recall - same failure mode.failure of amp resulted in failure of battery and pcm module ($1400).fast failure with very little warning.
Forward collision warning system light comes on as system off and causes immediate deceleration when no front end collision was imminate resulting in vehicle almost being hit from behind.this has happened 3 times.

Battery sign came on the dash board and a bad loud noise could be heard from the outside of the car. Took to dealership and upon their inspection i was told it was a bad alternator and a bad battery they didn't know what could of caused it.
I was driving down the street and my headlights kept going dim & bright and the radiowent off & wouldn't come back on , then my phone wouldn't work to call my husband , then an icon came on the dashboard that i didn't recognize and the car started to slow down and felt like it was trying to die, at this point i had been driving forabout 45 minutes and i was almost home and as i pulled in the guarge the car died and i barely made it into my guarge . My husband tried to restart the car & it wouldnt start , as it was late at night we went to bed and my husband tried to start it the next morning . It did start and he started to backit out of the guarge and it died and started to smoke and it was extremely hot under the hoodthen it would not start again . We called the the chrysler dealership and they came and towed it . We were told later that day that the alternator had gone out and it also had ruined the battery. The dealership said there had been a recall on this but our vin# wasn't on the list . Our car is only 6 years old and we feel like it should of been on the recall list . It was $1,008.00 to repair this problem . Could you please review your recall on this alternator problem .. We really feel like this was a faulty alternator and like i said our car is only 6 years old . We feel like an alternator should have last lasted at least to 200,000 miles and our car only had 52,000 miles on it . This is really bad for this new of a car. We have loved our chrysler and had a 2003 chrysler before this one , that we traded it in to get this one , it was 8 years old and we never had a problem 1 with it . We have thought about tradingour 2011 chrysler in - in a couple of years but now not quite sure we'll be getting another chrysler at this point with this problem we've hadwith the alternator .
Alternator burned up during operation disabling car and putting out strong burning smell. Not covered under previous recall.

On the afternoon of 11/5/2014 i was driving at a speed of approx. 45-50 mph when i noticed my 2011 chrysler 300 making a whining sound. Shortly after that i smelled what seemed like burning plastic. I then noticed that my abs and esc lights appeared on the dashboard. A message stating "battery saving mode" appeared on the hud and everything began to shutdown. I had zero control over the steering and braking. What's so bad is that i had my 20 month oldand my 10 year old kids in the vehicle at the time. I was unable to jump start the car and ended up having to get it towed to a chrysler dealer.
While traveling on the highway at 65 miles per hour the radio automatically shut off and the battery saver mode message came on the gauge cluster. Upon my research i found many websites where owners of 2011 chrysler 300 vehicles reported the same issues. The end result was a bad alternator. The consensus among the complaints is at approximately 40,000 miles the alternator goes bad. As of 05/30/2014 i have not been able to drive my vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership and the service technician did state that they have been receiving many calls regarding this issue. On this site as of today there are about 7 complaints which were reported recently and wonder if their vehicles also have the same mileage as mine.
I was traveling hwy 61 headed back to yazoo city, ms from greenville, ms made it about 60 miles from home in an rural area and the car just died-the interior lights went to flashing the car seems to have stalled then the steering got so tight then it just stopped and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere. I paid for the expensive tow,so i replaced the battery prior to this breakdown because the car was hesitate cranking-then after this breakdown, i discovered the alternator was bad-i bought a new alternator-chrysler has reimburse me for the alternator and labor, battery, and towing. But i wasnt reimbursed for the use of an alternative means of transportation while my car was down after replacing the alternator- it went out again on october 30 and my car was down all of november and december and part of january until roundtree chrysler jeep dodge did a temporary fix by installing another defective alternator because the recall parts haven't been made available to chrysler at that time and chrysler corporation advised me that i could get a temporary fix.during this 2 month plus, i'm without transportation and i work 50 miles one way from home. . i disagree to the fullest that it is my responsibility to have to pay for chrysler defaulted parts of which that is out of my control and not my responsibility- not to mention the medical bill that i made due to fact of me being stranded in the delta area which is known for the west nile virus on a rural road and being bite numerous times by mosquitos. So i'm requesting that chrysler pay for the for invoices of mileage from usage of an alternative vehicle of which you already have a file and i would also like to know if chrysler can cover my medical bill as well because this is simply not right for me the customer to endure these additional expenses along with this frustration, pain, and suffering.

Driving 40 mph when battery light illuminated and a burning smell coming from car, i immediately opened the door and began to veer off the road. All the lights illuminated on the dash, the radio shut off, gauges stopped working, power steering stopped, brakes were not functioning, wipers came on and car came to a complete stall and began to vibrate. All doors locked and windows were not functioning. The car was completely dead and i almost got trapped in it. Took it to the dealer and they said it was a bad alternator which ruined my battery. The first occurred 4 days earlier and it had burnt out my battery.i was told by the dealership that it was the alternator and they could not repair it until next week and had no loaner car for me.i had the battery replaced and the electrical system checked.they told me the electrical system checked out on the computer, was working as designed and must of been the battery. While driving on interstate 4 days later, battery indicator light illuminated along with the abs and anti-skid lights.windshield wipers came on, radio cut off and then lost power and acceleration.coasted to side of highway and opened the hood where there was the odor of electrical short and burning. This is the same thing that happened 4 days earlier.when i took it back to the dealer was told by service personnel that they have been having the same problem with this same year and model vehicles. Mileage is 36,800.
Warning message came on stating battery saver mode. My radio shut off. Could not be turned on. Battery light came on. Have not driven my car since.

Saturday morning, i was driving on the highway and my 'battery saving mode' light came on.then the brake light came on even though the brake was not engaged. Then the wipers went on.numerous other lights came on indicating trouble.the radio went off on its own and i tried repeatedly to get it back on and no luck. The on screen print changed to another language. I exited the highway to head to the dealer and on the exit ramp, my car lost all power. Luckily, was in one of the two lanes and cars were able to go around me.a gentleman who had witnessed my trouble on the highway pulled over to help me. I couldn't even unlock the other doors or open the trunk (where the battery is located) and he could not get in as i had the seat pulled forward to drive and it would not budge due to no electric power.i had police wait behind me for an hour and a half until the tow truck arrived. The car was towed to the dealer at my expense.the dealer advised this morning after doing a diagnostic test the alternator burned up the battery and i have to have both of them replaced!cost is approx. $1100.i contacted chrysler and they advised this vehicle is not subject to a recall.my issues sound identical to others reported here!how in the world can this be acceptable? also this is my 4th chrysler 300.i am very lucky this did not occur on the highway itself in the midst of rush hour.

The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and the mechanic replaced the alternator assembly, but the failure recurred. The first time the instrument cluster indicated a system shut down and all of the gauges, warning lamps, and sensors flickered as then failed to work. Months later, after the second alternator assembly was replaced, there was a ticking noise that progressed each time the vehicle was driven. On october 11, 2014 i had driven my car twice that day. That evening while dropping my little cousin back home, my car started sputtering, lights started blinking and the car cut off and would not turn back on. It was completely dead, no power or nothing. I am highly disappointed in chrysler. I have had this car not even five months and this has happened. Now it's just sitting in my yard and i am having to catch a taxi to work. It to beautiful of a car to just sit there. I took it to the dealership and they completed a diagnostic and said it was the alternator and they want $800.00 to repair. Can't afford to fix it, because all of my money is going towards taxi fare, and the warranty doesn't cover repairs. Just imagine if i were driving with my kids in the car and this happened.
Experienced complete alternator failure while driving vehicle.no prior warning of alternator problems.after failure of alternator vehicle went into power save mode while driving disabling the abs, esc, ecm, and cbc of the vehicle.it also caused an underhood electrical fire in which ems and the fd had to be called.

Alternator caught on fire while engine was stopped\car parkedwhile driving on interstate, the battery indicator came on, indicating a problem with the charging system.i continued on to my destination about 3 miles.when i turned the car off, there was an obvious smell of something being "hot" and i raised the hood to see if i could see it.the alternator was obviously very hot, and slightly smoking.assuming it was ok now that i had turned it off, i went inside the building to call the dealer.luckily, i changed my mind about trying to drive the car any further and decided to have the car towed and went outside to wait for the tow truck.when i got back to the car, the alternator had actually caught on fireand was blazing, dropping some melted materials onto a underbody air dam and appeared to be spreading.i was able to extinguish the fire before any more damage occurred.it appears that the alternator is severely damaged and there is some wiring damage as well as some damage to the surrounding wiring harness.there is no doubt that this fire would have spread to the entire vehicle in just a few minutes, as it appeared to be self-propagating and on its own would not have gone out.
Fcw off, abs & traction warning lights on simultaneously while driving. Happened first time on 8/14/17 and again 9/12/17.
The abs, traction control and parking brake light will all simultaneously and randomly illuminate and disappear. I have not had any physical issue with the brake or control of the car. I saw there was a recall back in 2012 for this possible situation but i am not sure if it is the same or if my vehicle was ever recalled. I have had the car for almost 4 years. This issue seems to be very sporadic. While stationary and driving. Sometimes i will turn the car on and it will be there. Sometimes it won't. It has happened over the last 2 years. I live where it snows and only drive this car in the warm weather months so i have yet to look into it.
I was driving when i smelled a "burning marshmallow" smell coming from my car.almost immediately, the abs light, a car with zigzags icon, and the brake lightflashed on my screen.followed by the radio, air vents, and power steering shutting itself on and off.within 1-2 miles my car was done.my alternator was toast.chrysler refuses to acknowledge the recall on the 3.6 l engine, 160 amp alternators.so under my extended warranty they put another oem alternator in my car.i asked the service manager at the dealership that chrysler sent me to,replace the alternator with a different one that isn't recalled.they refused because chrysler hasn't "launched" the recall yet.how ridiculous is this?when the recall is launched i will have to again replace the alternator.approx. Nov. 28, 2014.hopefully i won't experience a frying out alternator before then.vin [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I was on interstate 40 wheni noticed a whining noise coming from my vehicle just as i took my exit. I was able to make it to my destination when i noticed a burning smell coming from under the hood. I went to the nearest gas station and soon as i pulled in my vehicle began shutting down. The message said it could not detect my key and it was going into battery saving mode. Shortly after that, all power was lost and i was unable to restart the vehicle, i was unable to roll up my windows and lock my doors.it was after midnight when this occurred and the gas station was closed i had to enlist help from strangers to try and figure out the problem to no avail. I ended up staying at a hotel overnight and the next morning i was able to get a jump and get to the nearest auto parts store where they tested the battery and determined the alternator was failing. I am now in a position where i cannot drive my vehicle with the lights on,which means i cannot drive at night i can't use the ac and it is july, or drive with the radio on until i am able to replace the alternator.i am running off of battery power alone until this problem gets fixed.
Today my car didn't want to open with the remote control nor start. I went to the truck because i was going to put some items i had bought and the truck didn't want to open either i had to open the car manually. The battery save mode illumination was on.
First noticed a "whining" noise when idling that increased as i accelerated.i had a burning smell, not sure how it was related. Next sign of trouble was "battery saver mode" message on electronic display. Soon after, reverse camera stopped working, the radio turned off by itself, rear defroster and other electrical components didn't work. Last sign was traction control & abs lights flashed on and off randomly. Right as i pulled into the dealership, car completely lost power (no steering, wipers came on, all lights on dash flashed and headlights were flashing).2 dealerships told me they haven't heard of this but online searches seemed to indicate a problem with alternator and battery.

Chrysler has a safety recall (p60) for an alternator problem which can cause the alternator to fail causing sudden shutdown of the vehicle and/or fire. The recall specifically states the 160amp alternator is affected, however many drivers are experiencing the exact same problem with the 180amp alternators in the same affected vehicles. On june 2 2011, my car shutdown while i was driving on a very busy street. I then noticed a burning smell, and upon further inspection it appeared to be coming from the alternator. The location of the smell was also confirmed by the tow truck driver. I contacted chrysler about this but was given no assistance. The cost to repair the damage done to my vehicle exceeds $1000. The result of my vehicle shutting down suddenly could have ended in serious injury or death. Fortunately, my children were not in the car at the time. Chrysler is refusing to acknowledge that there is a problem with the 180 amp alternator in the 300 model.

I would like to know when the part for recall #p60/nhtsa 14v-634 will be available? it makes me very anxious & nervous to drive around knowing that my car could experience a rapid failure at any time causing me or someone else injury or death! it is not acceptable to me that chrysler cannot give me an estimated time of when this "alternator diode" will be available. I have called chrysler corporation and they "do not have any idea" and really seemed irritated that i was calling about the problem. They said "you will be notified when the part is available!" very rude-and totally unacceptable.my dealer has no idea either. I believe i deserve a better response and a timely fix for this problem.i will never buy another chrysler product again. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I was starting my day at 4:00am i auto started my car like i do every day and leave to work. On this day i went to my car and it was off i thought this was odd but i got in my car and it start and i was on my way. I drive 3 miles to work i was at the hill to turn in to when the battery light came on and the car it felt like it was going to stall. At that time i turn to go up the hill and some other light started to flash not even 30 second later the car stopped in the middle of the road the light all went out and i was sitting in the dark i tried to turn on the hazard light but all power was out the car i sat in the middle of the road for over a hour and a half for a tow truck. When the tow truck got there he had trouble trying to get the car on the flat bed the rear tires of the car would not turn so he had to readjust the car several times to get it on the truck.

On my way home from work today, i was driving about 40 mph when i got a battery saver mode message. I had been getting the message a few days now and didn't know what to think of it. A little further into the commute, i started smelling a burning smell. All of a sudden, all of the vehicles systems start to shut down and the car just dies (while i'm driving it)! luckily i was able to pull off into an empty parking lot using the momentum of the car, but i wasn't even able to use my hazard lights. It had completely died. Scary to say the least.
On morning of 10/24/14 when vehicle was started a message came on stating "battery saving mode" looked at manual there was no instructions as to what that meant. Then the vehicle was driven, while driving the rpm indicator would move up on its own and then the brake light, traction and abs warning light came on and stayed on. After the warning came on the car despite pressing on gas pedal would not accelerate then a rattling noise came on so i quickly proceeded to attempt to exit the interstate freeway.as i tried to do that the steering started locking up, i had to push very hard on the brake to slow the car down and stop it. The vehicle completely shut off, unable to turn on or operate anything. The vehicle could not be jump started. When the vehicle was towed to the chrysler dealership they were unable to charge up the battery and now they believe an alternator failure may be the reason for the engine to stall.

"takata recall"today sunday july 31,2016i was driving my 2011 chrysler 300 down the street in a lane of busy traffic with my family all of a sudden a red light came on it looked like a battery symbol.so i continued driving hoping to make it home safely with the kids all of a sudden when i made it to the curve in my neighborhood my radio shut down then the all lights lit up in the dashboard area and the car completely shut down in the curve.my car completely lost power and shut down.my emergency flashers wouldn't even work to even notify oncoming drivers pulling up behind me but thank god someone pulled up behind up and helped us by using their emergency flashers until my wrecker arrived.there was also a burning smell coming from my hood.i'm really disappointed by this incident it put my life and my childrens life in danger.i had the chrysler 300 towed to the shop and i am waiting on their report of what was the cause for my vehicle to fail me in such a dangerous curve and i wish someone would contact me directly about my findings cause this incident could have ended tragically.
Back up camera at night turns blue, blurry and red. They say there is nothing wrong with it.

Chrysler safety recall p60 failed twice (nhtsa recall #14v-634).unfortunately today (less than 1 week after 2nd replacement) the alternator failed again leaving the vehicle acting erratically without power steering or power brakes or the ability the shift gears while driving kids to school. Thankfully it was on local streets and able to pull over safely.sansone (chrysler dealership) has now twice performed this chrysler 300 safety recall p60 (electrical/alternator) repair without success. We have opened a new case with chrysler asking to have it performed at a trusted repair shop in metuchen and receive reimbursement. They have sent us the authorization.if chrysler dealerships cannot properly diagnose/repair/replace the safety recall problem/parts installed twice (last one last week) that failed again today, at no cost and without delay, dealer should send a vehicle to pickup the car (it cannot be driven more than a few feet before everything shuts down) and we should be permitted to proceed with a reimbursement option at a trusted repair shop.apologize if it seems rash, but very upset of the potentially dangerous situation if it had failed on the highway at high speeds.

My car stopped on me, had a mechanic look at it and was told my alternator went out,. When he went to look up my part it showed it being recalled, so he called chrysler and was told my part was on back order and they didn't have eta on it. So they found the part and could do the repair, but suggested i call chrysler again to see what my options were before they did the work. So called my local chrysler dealership and was told i pay for a tow and have my car towed to them, they could do a temporary repair, which i would also have to pay for a rental, but i still would have to bring my car back when the actual part comes. They didn't have an option for me to have my car repaired some where else than be reimburse. So i called chrysler customer service line and spoke with a rep explained my situation and was told to go ahead and have the other place repair my car and i would have to submit my receipt for review to get reimburse.
Loud whinny noise coming from alternator when starting up vehicle.
While coming a stop, the instrument panel showed a 'system error' light and the vehicle shut down.it would not restart and was completely dead.traffic was impeded and a series of accidents were narrowly avoided.after towing it to the dealer, i'm told that the likely culprit is the alternator which "are known to go out on these cars, right around the expiration of the warranty," according to the service technician.warranty on this part is 36,000 miles and my car was at 36,650 miles.after yelling and screaming, the technician said he could lower the cost from $1,100 to $900.when pressed, he said the price for the alternator alone was $600, excluding any labor.i am furious that this is a 'known problem' and yet there has been no recall and from the list of other complainants on this site, it's obvious that this is a consistent and dangerous problem.i believe that the nhtsa needs to review this problem and address it.my options are limited.i need my car back.hopefully, when i get it returned to me, the problem will be gone.buyer beware, apparently, this is a dangerous and pervasive problem.

I was driving and my battery safe mode light was on. The vehicle all of a sudden began displaying other lights such as my engine light and a car with skid lines below it light. All of a sudden i lost power in my navigation system while driving my other lights began to turn ( mind you it is 9:30 on halloween night). My car begins to stall while i have my son, and 3 other children in the car. Luckily i was able to pull off of the road (safely with my lights out) into a school. Never one did i get a warning that my car would shut completely down. Turned vehicle off and back on in hopes of getting back up and running and to no avail. Had to get my car towed the following morning. This could have resulted in an accident had i been on my way home on a busy i-10 hwy. Luckily i was dropping my brother off and never made it on the hwy. Took the vehicle to the dealership and they told me it was my alternator. The vehicle was purchased brand new 3 years ago and should not be having this safety issue. Car is outside of warranty and i paid for the dealer to repair the alternator but when i requested my defective alternator back they refused to give it to me without paying them an additional fee. I wanted to take the alternatorto get inspected by another mechanic for further inspection.

For the past couple of weeks i've noticed that my vehicle would make a weird whining noise when i would crank it in the morning. So today while cranking my vehicle i noticed that it was hesitant to start then i received a message on the dashboard stating "battery saver mode". I then noticed the whining noise getting louder and louder and then i started to smell a burning smell that was coming through the vents. I noticed that chrysler issued an alternator recall for 3.6l vehicles only and i feel that one should be issued to cover those who have the 5.7l vehicles. I've noticed that several individuals have complained about this issue and chrysler should do something to fix it.

Radio shut off. All of a sudden there was a picture battery light on the dash. It was raining hard, therefore, i had to pull over because the wipers did not functioned properly due to the problem (it went to a slow motion). As soon as i pulled over, the car shuts off. Had to get my car pushed by a cop and my boyfriend out of a dangerous spot where it left me stuck, towed, taken to the dealer for them to tell me that it is the alternator and repairs are around $800, and a 63$ diagnosis fee! really!? no one has it in stock, and one store told me "there must be something wrong with those alternators because the factory doesn't have them either, sorry you need to call the dealer."

Takata recall my 2011 300 abs light.brake light , traction control light come on and stay on at different times but a lot more with the hotter weather
I was driving about 35 mph, when a message pop up saying the car was operating on reserve battery power, abs/esc, lights came on followed by the brake lights, car then lost power, i was able to steer to a safe location. I bought a $200. Battery, the car is still dead, call the dealer, but have not took it down yet.
Esp abs light just came on

Takata recall cruise control don't work. Heated seats don't work rear back up camera don't works check engine light always on, sometimes door entry senses don't work, and whenwipers is on dash lights dim
When i fill up my car i smell gas if i only put it on half a tank i do not smell gas. Also the steering is making a popping sound and if i turn the car loses control this is a real issue i'm having with my chrysler 300
"takata recall" my blind spot sensors on my chrysler 300c awd say's that they need to be serviced and the lights remaining on the mirrors along by the obnoxious beeping sound and the screen telling me over and over again to service these senors is going to cause an accident. It went from one car wash to malfunctioning on and off to now this happens at the start of the vehicle and will not stop. I have seen that this is a very common complaint with other owners and if there is something that can be done about it as it is a safety issue. My car has only 72k miles on it and owned a tad over a year. All the forums i go to this is one of the main issues that i am seeing. Is there a way to stop the car from beeping and flashing once the message has been received, this is dangerous!
Car began to loose power under pressure, engine light would flash.usually when cold or pulling hard on a hill or passing.engine ran rough, misfiring and out of balance. Could not continue to pass on one occassion; had to pull back, wrangle out of traffic and stop vehicle.misdiagnosed: replaced plugs, coil & injector on valve #5.did not correct.finally diagnosed as bad camshaft.vehicle has a hemi.technician stated he has replaced many of these on various engines with a hemi in a four year range.stated it is a common failure on those vehicles but not listed on a recall.this failure is a safety hazard.having expectations of the vehicle to accelerate quickly, as it normally would, nearly caused me to get into an accident.additionally bogged down traffic as the vehicle would not continue at a speed over 45 mph.traffic became bottlenecked behind me on the interstate until i could wrangle to the shoulder.i also own a dodge ram truck in the same year range and have been advised by the technician to be prepared for it to go out on that vehicle also.

The contact owns a 2011 chrysler 300. While attempting to stop the vehicle, there was an abnormal noise coming from the passenger side brakes. The contact also stated that the abs and traction control warning lights illuminated. Additionally, when depressing the off/on button, the engine hesitated to shut off.
Shifter was squeaky sounded like an old car every time you shifted to a different position. Took in to the dealer services center and while they were fixing other issues they said it needed to be replaced so they did. Now 6,000 later it sounds the same and when i took it in ones again for other issues they said it needed to be replaces. Apparently the shifter is defective. My car has only 36,000 and has been in the shop 7 times and all different issues.

While driving at night on a non illuminated road the headlight beam extends about 12 then angles to right and left. When turning left or right there is no illumination to right or left when turning. Making the turn is like driving into a black hole. There could be a person or impediment in the way and it cannot be detected.a solution is for the headlight beam to angle to right and left much closer to the front of the car.i have discussed this with chrysler case # [xxx] and deacons chrysler, mayfield village, ohio.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

After filling up my gas tank, i noticed the engine light was on and an odor of gas was present in and outside the car. Took the car for service. They checked for a gas leak and found it under the rear seat. I will quote the invoice (165567) dayton andrews inc.. "found gas dripping of side for gas tank coming from thetop.removed back seat to find connector was not fully installed. They installed connector and clear codes. Vehicle checks ok at this time".the service mgr. Said "we cleaned up the gas as best we could, and that the odor should dissipate in a few days". It's been a week and i'm afraid to drive the car. When i do, i need to have all the windows down. This i feel is very dangerous. I've never had any kind of major accident and it seems to me that this connection that was not installed properly was done or not done at the factory. Updated 10/01/15*ljupdated 11/02/2017
The contact owns a 2011 chrysler 300. The contact stated when adding gasoline to the fuel tank it would spill out. The fuel filler neck caused the fuel tank to malfunction. The fuel fumes would also linger in the interior of the vehicle which made her sick on the stomach. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on four occasions where they replaced the filler cap but the fuel continued to spill back out after refueling. The engine light also continued to illuminate and would not shut off. Each time the failure occurred the dealer would repair it under warranty. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 2,506.

Vehicle had a strong smell of fuel.there are many complaints regarding this same issue on the internet.the offending part was auxiliary fuel pump had to be replaced that is mounted on the top of the gas tank underneath the back passenger seat.
Stationary in parking lot would not startcar would not start
Check engine light came on 2 blocks from home.parked the car.the next evening we could smell gas from our front porch, ten feet from the car.curious we opened the car and the passenger compartment was pungent from the odor of gas.called aaa and towed to local car repair.plastic cap on top of the fuel tank located below rear passenger seat failed, access to 2nd fuel pump. The plasic failure allowed gas leak. The repair shop indicated the plastic cap appeared deteriorated from fuel. We had the pump and cap replaced.very concerned about the material in the cap, and the danger in the passenger compartment for consequential gas leak.
When i fill up my car i smell gas if i only put it on half a tank i do not smell gas. Also the steering is making a popping sound and if i turn the car loses control this is a real issue i'm having with my chrysler 300
I have three chrysler, dodge cars and all three of them are having the same problem.catalytic converter is messing up on three of them at the same time. One of them is a 2011 chrysler 300 with only 80,000 miles, 2010 dodge nitro truck with over 100,000 miles and a 2012 dodge avenger over 100,000 miles.i feel that dodge chrysler jeep should have this as one of the recalls. The 2010 dodge nitro truck my daughter was driving just cut off on her on the freeway when she stopped in traffic. And the 2012 dodge avenger is sitting up in my drive way not being driven because of its so expensive to get them repaired. My 2011 chrysler 300 and 2010 dodge nitro truck is going in the shop to get the repairs done, but i feel dodge, chrysler jeep should be eating up the cost for these repairs. The dodge truck stopped on her oct 15th on the freeway, during traffic hours.
Vehicle had a strong smell of fuel.there are many complaints regarding this same issue on the internet.the offending part was auxiliary fuel pump had to be replaced that is mounted on the top of the gas tank underneath the back passenger seat.
My car is constantly smelling like gas after fill ups and fuel pump housing
I have been smelling gas for the last six months.o n 11-21-2015 it was dropped off at the dealer for an oil change.when i picked it up all the doors and trunk were open presumably to air out the fumes.i had my son check to see what the problem was,he found fuel leaking from the right side of the fuel tank.a large area of the sound proofing under the car was soaked with gasoline. After checking several chrysler blogs he found out this is a common problem on several chrysler models around 2011.i took the car to the dealer who advised it should be safe to drive. They found they found the right side fuel pump level unit leaking on top . I believe it is a dangerous situation and should be recalled.

Fuel transfer pump assembly failed on this model and was told that no mopar parts in the country are available. The service group working on this car when conferring with chrysler parts. That there have been allot of complaints on this right side assembly.i have formally provided chrysler a compliant today.i was told by the repair shop doing the work, that he feels that chrysler should recall as the passenger r side assembly seems to be the worst of the two in this vehicle. Can you look into this.luckily we were able to get an after market part from indiana so we can drive the car.in it's present state the gas fumes radiating from under the back seats were dangerous that could lead to a extreme danger to the occupants.regards,

When i put the car in drive, i hear the car wanting to go in overdrive.it is scary and sometimes it jumps to overdrive 1 or 2.i have to slow down put it in neutral while all the time on the major highway..very scary.. I've been very prudent because it doesn't do it all the time..icons have brake on and a small motor light on?..went to the local garage and they couldn't see the problem, they took it out for a dive on florida highway 95 and they couldn't feel anything!!i still drive the car but very worried.hope to hear from you soon.the oil and car checked when sticker says to bring it in!!i'm experiencing this a least 3 times a week and getting more often!!
On 5 separate occasions, the vehicle indicated vehicle is in park.however, this has happened while vehicle is in motion.once, on highway and remaining four times occurred on city streets.on all 5 occasions, vehicle would allow me to put into park but would not allow me turn vehicle off.4 of 5 times this occurred, i drove around while occasionally stopping to put car into reverse and back thru gears again before it'd finally let me park and turn off.1 of 5 times, the car let me put into park and press start button until it went to 3rd setting before it'd allow me turn vehicle me off.in addition, 2 times this vehicle, while in motion on city street, has switched into 1 or 2 drive gear without my putting it there.once stopped, i had to try going thru gears many times before it'd let me return to d.my belief is there is an issue with shifter or perhaps an issue with whatever ties in or attached to shifter.i apologize i'm not mechanically inclined.i do have pictures and a video of car not shutting off because it states it's in park when it's not.
The check engine lite came on stayed on and the engine stopped. After a short period of time the engine started and the vehicle was taken to the nearest dealer in wilmington, nc. The dealer found dtc for incorrect gear ratio and reprogrammed the transmission control module. Old code was #68065111af and the new #was 68065111ag. Since that period of time when the vehicle speed reaches 40mph it seems that the transmission wants to downshift. Prior to the code change it was very smooth and no problems. I have contacted chrysler customer service on numerous occasions for a resolution but all they can say is there isn't a problem. What has caused me to submit this problem is the response i received today on my latest inquiry. I feel that this condition is a safety hazard due to you not knowing how the transmission is going to react at this speed, what gear is it possibly going to select. Has this or a similar problem been submitted before. The drivetrain is still under warranty but if chrysler can't provide adequate technical responses then what do you do. If any additional information is required please contact me and i will provide whatever i have.

The contact owns a 2011 chrysler 300. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the steering and braking ability seized. The vehicle was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer due to a smoking engine, and failed alternator was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
Can c bus: its a typical issue with the 2011 chrysler 300. The main code for the can c bus "u000200" after the scan tool, the issues found are abs can c bus off performance: bcm (body controller module) can c bus off performance, sccm (steering column control module) can c bus off performance, radio frequency can c bus off performance. All affect the safety and driveabilty of the car. The car drives and in the midst of driving the car stalls in traffic, the car vibrates really bad, the car seems to lose power on acceleration. Please take a look into this, as this is a common issue with the chrysler 300.
Was charged nearly $1,000.00.
The contact owns a 2011 chrysler 300. The contact stated that the abs warning light remained illuminated after a manufacturer recall, which did not remedy the failure. The alternator assembly was replaced by the dealer for a manufacturer recall and, months later, the abs warning light flashed randomly and remained illuminated. Upon making a turn, the abs brake light flashed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for further inspection and diagnostic testing. The contact was not experiencing any failures until the two recall repairs were received from the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
My brakes go to the floor intermittently.i have to pump several times to get brake function back. I drive in stop & go traffic 5 days per week to and from work. Have taken the car to the dealer shop 4-5 times.they cannot replicate the problem.it is very scary & unsafe.i don't know what to do.
Was in a trip in san antonio, tx towards six flags their is hills well coming down one to stop at the light the car dint want to make a complete stop and the was a very ugly noise coming from the brakes and no it was not the anti-brakes because that sounds different. Took in to nearest dealer to take a look at it and the car stayed over night and was checked twice by a technician and they couldn't duplicate the problem. They did state that they could hear something but couldn't find out what it was. 3 1/2 weeks later i brought the vehicle to service in the dealer were i bought the car new and they tell me that it is the rotors that need to be rectified but are not sure if that is it or not. They also hear squeaking on and off at different points but dont know what to do.
The button had to be depressed multiple times on some occasions in order for the engine to shut off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,000.
The contact owns a 2011 chrysler 300. While driving various speeds, the brakes failed to work and the abs and traction warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. I was a passenger in the front seat of a rental vehichle and i was at a complete stop at a sign when the driver seemed to have some medical episode it was a push start ignition so with the foot on the gas the driver send us straight towards a brick wall and i was trying to locate an emergency brake turn off the car or steer the car out of danger because of the timing and the lack of safety features accessible to me as a result of the car ingenuity i suffered multiple leg fractures after being drug along a 45 foot distance nearly severing my leg from my body and a 20 hr surgery complete with screws and plates lacerations from airbag and seatbelt.

My car when it is in an incline and you reverse it make a very loud stomp that you can hear inside and out. The incline can be at a minimum to high. This happens on and off . At the dealer they tell me that is normal. How can it be normal when it sounds super loud that others can hear it. Know when i bought the car it would not do this. Why is it doing it know? and on and off.
I have had to replace my front (struts/shocks) and back (shocks) suspension twice and no one can seem to find out why it keeps going out. The first time was at about approx. 150,000 miles & then at est. 215,000 they had to be replaced again under the first warranty within a 6 month span.
While driving the vehicle, the tpms light would come on and go off sporadically. We stopped at a local gas station to check the pressure and all the tires had adequate pressure.i had the tires balanced and rotated to see it that would correct the problem and had the front end aligned.this still did not correct the problem.finally fed up, i took the car to a local firestone to have them check the system. Firestone changed the sensor on the front driver side.when i left, the car was fine, no errors.on my way to work on the following day, the light came on again. I returned to firestone and this is when they shared with me that the sensor that was bad was not the one that they changed, but the one in the rear. As a courtesy, they changed the rear sensor free of charge.however, the reading on the car was still faulty. By the time i got to work, thirty-five minutes later, neither of the sensors that firestone changed were reading by the car.the tire pressure for both tires read --.i called a chrysler dealer in tacoma to have the car checked out there.i did not tell them that i had two sensors changed already because i wanted to know what their diagnosis was on the car.ironically, they said that i needed four tpms sensors and it would cost $900.when my husband told them that i?d already had two sensors replaced, they came back saying that either the work was not done correctly or they did not recode the sensors to the car.my husband then took the car back to firestone;firestone put four brand new original chrysler tpms sensors on the car, free of charge. The sensors still were not reading.the chrysler service department had him bring the car in.they cleared the codes ? the car was fine for a little while. Before i was off work, the sensor on the driver front was again reading --. The code will clear itself, then come back on.

I own a 2011 chrysler 300 with just over 46,000 miles.my wife is the driver of this vehicle.having trouble with turning off the engine.gear shift is in "park" but information screen says "vehicle not in park" thus will not allow me to turn off the engine.this has been happening periodically since may 2016 and has gotten progressively worse.i took car to chrysler service center on 07 19 16, and after 1 & half days, on 07 21 16 i was told to pick up vehicle, and that they "could not duplicate customer concern."their solution was to try shifting back to drive and then to park, or hold the shifter in park.this should not be happening!!this is not normal!!!immediately at my first stop and remainder of the day, i could not turn of the engine right away; it takes up to 9 minutes of shifting back and forth to drive and park before it finally shuts off.today, 07 31 16, for the first time in my life, with the emergency brake engaged, i had to fuel my car with the engine still running because i could not shut it off!!! i was terrified the whole time because of the danger of explosion.then driving down the road, the "vehicle not in park" message was still on.i could not clear this message.then when i arrived at my destination,it took another 5-6 minutes to turn off the engine.i have to sit in my car until i can shut it of because i'm afraid it will somehow engage and possibly to damage to property or injure someone, even myself. I'm taking the car back to chrysler again tomorrow if i can get an appointment.
Forward collision warning system light comes on as system off and causes immediate deceleration when no front end collision was imminate resulting in vehicle almost being hit from behind.this has happened 3 times.

Fcw off, abs & traction warning lights on simultaneously while driving. Happened first time on 8/14/17 and again 9/12/17.
My rear view camera will show objects on the opposite side of the vehicle at different times while the vehicle is moving or stationary.the rear view camera image doesn't appear on the screen at different times while the vehicle is moving or stationary.
The vehicle intermittantly says it is not in park when it is and will not shut off.
Camshaft / lifters are prematurely wearing out( wiped ) the car is throwing a p0300 ,p0303 code but the spark plugs, coils etc are fine ..engine shakes and knocks while driving the smell of gasoline is evident lose of power while driving only 88000+ miles
The cars altenator failed causing the engine to stall (shut down) we were traveling on the back side of a strip mall on florin road. Popping the hood revealed that there was smoke and a lot of it. We had to pay to get the car towed home.

Bought this car in 2012; when i bought it the dealer had just had the cruise control fixed (switch replaced?)later that year the cc quit working again; so i got it fixed ( replaced) again under warranty.then about february 2015 the cc quit again.then when i had the car at the dealer i told them it didn't work and they tested it and aid it worked.well now 4/20/15, the cc quit again; and has not worked all week.very inconvenient because i don't want a speeding ticket.basically it has worked on and off.i am hoping it starts working again because i don't want to have to pay and take the car to a dealer again.i hope to hear back about this but basically the switch for the cc has been replaced at least twice and is not reliable.otherwise i love my car.
