I have 130k mileage on my chrysler 300 2007 model. For about 3months, iā€™ve been experiencing fuel leaks from the bottom rear corner of the driver side just directly beneath my fuel tank, which also makes both the exterior and interior of the car smell of gas. I took the car for maintenance and the fuel tank seals were replaced after my fuel pump was changed. There was no visible fuel spill after the rear seats were removed and inspected but there was constant droplets of fuel from beneath the rear left side of the car. I donā€™t know what else to do and what can cause this?.. Besides, whenever i put fuel in my tank, i can smell fuel coming from the ac vents. Also, my airbag warning light has been on for a long time on my dashboard. Help!!!

I have received recall notification my mail twice this year about the airbag inflator.i have contacted my local dealership more than once about repair and have waited more than six months without result. Each time i call, i'm told parts are not available and i will be called for an appointment when the parts arrive. Six months is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for a repair of a part that could take your life or cause significant bodily injury each time you must drive your vehicle. How many more people are going to be injured before something is done to expedite these repairs?

Every time i either turn a corner or back out of my drive the abs and traction control light lights come on and stay on.i was told that there is no safety issue, but i noticed that there was a recall on my make and year but i missed the recall by a month. And since this is so, did they fix the problem with the manufacturer?also, i will have to had to fix my interlock shift now for the second time in two years come this thursday.i am worried about not being able to get my car out of park and move out of the way in an emergency.i am going to utilize social media to see if i can get more people to complain to you all and also to chrysler to get this costly and possibly dangerous problem fixed.
Rear parking/tail lights fuse blows every time the car is driven the night time if the lights are turned on. The fuse remains good if driving during the day time and the lights are not on.
The shifter in my vehicle has an interlock latch that isn't part of a recall.there was a recall on the same make and model of cars that were made after mine.many people with the same make & model have had issues with this yet it isn't part of this recall.if it is a known issue i don't understand why it is not being corrected for all of these parts.it shouldn't be the responsibility of the owner when the maker is aware that this part is in fact faulty.

This is my second complaint on this vehicle and it's back to the dealership for another repair again. I took it into the dealership on 5/16/15 because the air condition would cool for a little while and stop. Then after about 20 mins later it would start cooling again. The diagnosed was they would have to replace both the power distribution center and front control module. My total parts cost was $889.00.my total cost with labor and out the door cost was $1440.81.my car stay in the shop until yesterday 5/26/15 for them to complete the repair. I drive it to the car wash and home. This morning 5/27/15 i drove it approximately 2 miles and it stopped acceleration. I had it towed back to the dealership. After the last problem i had, i started reading all the other consumers complaints about this car. I was amazed because other then my radiator and fan explosions i hadn't experience any other problems. I'm finding that, as i read complaints reported here they are slow happening to me. My father use to say to me before he passed away "stand for something or fall for everything" . It has to be something we as consumer could do about this.clearly there are multiple issues with these cars.i spent hours compiling a list of complaints you all reported and i plan to write letters to everyone that suppose to protect us from this and could make a different for us. This is not ok! i'm going to use social media as much as i can to get the word out to others consumers about the problems with these cars and setup a web site for everyone to use. This is not ok! consumers buy these vehicle trusting that the manufacturers and car dealer are selling them a product that will serve their needs well and a product that will last them a very long time not a product that will need rewiring is 8 years, are you kidding me! this is unacceptable! these cars are resold to other consumer also!

Driving on highway during cold winter day (20 degrees or below) when the cars computer system shut down and a few seconds later re-booted.the car continued to do so during the drive home and during the next week until i could get an appointment with local dealership.took to dealership and they were unsure of the issue. Showed them a video that was taken while driving on the highway (very unsafe to have your car totally shut down while going 70 mph).they replaced the ignition switch -- not warrantied, $300 repair.this has happened every year with the exception of 2012 (weather in region was warmer and didn't meet conditions as previous years).now it's 2013 and the same thing happened during a recent blizzard.dealership says their hands are tied, but i think this is a chrysler defective part issue.something in very cold weather is causing the computer system to shut down, which could cause a driver to lose control of the vehicle.this is a scary situation, especially if you don't know what's happening.i have video of the issue from a recent commute, as well as the documentation of the on-going issue starting back in 2010.chrysler was contacted on 2/21/2013 with the details.my utmost concern is that this will (or has) caused a fatality and chrysler seems unwilling to acknowledge the problem with this defective part. .

First the abs and traction control lights and another light located on the right side of my panel came on. My car was locking me out at any moment. First i thought it might have been my fault but it happened twice to me while my car was running and my keys in the ignition!! well, i thought to myself, " i know i didn't hit the lock button before i got out of my car, so when it happened the second time i went home and sit in my garage and i sat and watched. All of sudden my car started locking and unlocking all by itself and on the outside with my keys watching this thinking "i was right"!!!! well not only was the car acting crazy, it started acting up when i pull out of any road like it didn't want to go, and i was thinking to myself, "i am eventually going to get ran over because my car wont go!!!! during these incidents the abs and the traction control lights would come on then go off and come back on again. I never knew what it was going to do. Certain times going down the road it would do the same thing and it was acting like the wheels was going to lock up!!! until this very day, 08-05-2014 it still has these problems. I wish i had never bought it and ill never buy another chrysler or dodge ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i finally made the call after 6 years of this crap and the lady i spoke to says, "there are no recalls on this particular car. Well chrysler!!?? i wish you would buy this burden back and sell it for scrap!!! its been the biggest burden i have had ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there has been more problems with this vehicle but so much has happened that you need to drive it to find out for yourself!

Electronic throttle control and tire pressure monitor system lights stay on and then the car shuts down, can't brake, the car shakes, it stalls and it seems to happen (each time starting in november) while i am driving on 476. I am lucky each time to make it to pull over and then all the system fails. I am able to start it again and then the same thing happens. I have taken it to auto zone, 2 mechanics and no one is able to locate anything on their diagnostics. Highland motors (where we purchased the car) never told us that the car was recalled for any issues, never gave us any information on the car, we were just almost killed a few times and decided to look up information on the car and found well over 100,000 complaints online for it.
Ignition switch faulty, have had the ignition switch replaced twice and now need another another ignition switch dealership has claimed the ignition switch has had 4 different parts numbers so that means it has been modified 4 different times this should be a recall issue i shouldn't have to keep replacing a faulty ignition switch

When i was driving all electronics shut off but the car could still drive.. So i tryed to turn my four ways on didn't come on i pulled over still no lights working turned my car on lights turned on and my four ways also turned on when i started the car back up.
Had to move car off block due to street repairs beginning. When i went to drive it to work, car will not go out of park position. Also, in 2009, i took car to dealer on kirkwood hwy in wilmington, de. I told them that when the car goes above 60 mph, the esc light comes on, car slows down to an exact stop. This happens...as you guess it....in the middle of traffic. Dealer says they haven't experienced it, in my car and through any complaints.
The transmission went out. It was fine then then lights started flickering inside and out and then when i turned the car off and tried to turn it back on it was completely dead. No lights or power at all. Had to get a jump start. Then when i tried to go it was revving up but wouldnt move and then all of a sudden jumped into gear real hard. It had significant loss ofpower and would get up and go. It's real slow from the start and it dangerous driving it because it will just rev up and not move then jump into gear very hard. It has almost thrown my car into the back of other cars because it jumps so bad i to gear all of a sudden. Then when you try to get out of the way of another car coming g it sometimes barely moves and it very dangerous. It has been stuck in 2nd gear ever since. It had a lot of loss of power. I had the transmission replace 2 times and both including the original are all stuck in 2nd gear. Also when i turn the car it makes a loud popping cracking sound by the wheels. Like it's going to break. Also going over speed bumps it's really loud and squeaky.

All electrical functions flashing...lost radio, headlights, airbag lights flashing, cooler blower stopped.this condition happened to my vehicle multiple times while driving and all different speeds.while driving at night automatic headlight sensor would turn headlights off while traveling.condition started to happen daily so dealer changed the ignition switch and problem hasn't happened since.
I switched my car off to pump gas. When i got into my car to turn in the car my key the motor wouldn't turn over. Its like my car just powered off. My key was very loose out in the ignition and it wasn't making click sounds like it normally did after you switch the key out of the lock position.my car had to be towed to the dealership and the dealership said my ignition housing was shattered.my car was working perfectly fine the entire day. Chrysler dodge jeep have been having recalls on the ignition switches. I think this problem should be investigated.
I am a ase master tech. In the state of calif. I have worked on chrysler for 16 years. What burns me is this particular manufacturer uses a system called star to hide defects from becoming full recalls to avoid cost. I am complaining about all dodge, chrysler 300,magnum,charger 3.5l. The rear license plate harness retainer clip above the oversize 3.5lmuffler comes loose and the two wire harness melts to the muffler and causes parklight/taillamp failure. The consumer will attempt in desperation to install fuses of a larger amp causing a major meltdown of the fusebox (wire domino of one wire in the fusebox melts to other sources. Well, i complained and was told to shut up by chrysler!!! i've seen six to be exact. Chrysler likes to use there star program to hide defects that should be recalls!! you as a government office should examine this mickeymouse program. I, as a very qualified technician can't wait to someone burns to death in a horrible wiring fire. All that needs to be done is a better way besides a slide clip to retain the harness.

My chrysler 300 cuts off while i'm driving. It does this without warning. The first time i was driving down the street and came to a stop sign, i was unable to steer the wheel everything locked except for the brakes and gear. I push on the brakes and put it into gear i crank the cat up and was able to get it started again. It happened a few days later i was turning into the parking lot and it cut off in the middle of the street. I had to do the same thing. I had a mechanic look at it and have had things replaced on the car but still having the same issue. Just yesterday i was almost at the light and i lost power. I had to once again hurry and put it into parking and then restart the car. This issue scares me because i have a 7yr old daughter that is with me most of the time and this car doesn't have a set time when it does it. I have had the car for a little over a year. I am afraid that it may do this on the highway or cause an accident.
This was the first time i have ever used my cruise control since i have owned my car. I was traveling on a freeway; all of a sudden my car started to lose control. The engine was racing to a high rpm and accelerating. Two warning lights came on immediately, it was difficult to steer, and the cruise control would not disengage even when hitting the brake.while i tried regaining control of my car i tried turning the cruise control off. It would not turn off. I hit cancel on the steering column and it still wouldn't disengage. Finally, i kept braking and pulled off the side of the road. My car, while i had my foot on the brake, continued to rev up.i took my foot off the brake, but the cruise control was still engaged, even with the cruise control light now off, and the r.p.m's continued to be high, so i took the next exit. I put the car in park and turned off the engine for 15 minutes. The two warning lights areelectronic stability control and electronic throttle control. The car is still having problems and the cruise control comes on after 40 mph on its own and the warning lights come on.

We had purchased a chrsyler 300 in jan 20,2007 we got the car with only 42 miles on the car since 2007 the car had been in the shop of the dealership four times. In may of 2007 we took the car in cause the a/c was not cooling at all. The dealership told us that we needed a brand new a/c compressor so we said ok but when they fixed it we had to pay 650 dollars cause our warranty would not cover it so we said what about the factory warranty they said no also so that one was time. Second one was in 2008 shifter cable busted and the dealer ship told us that the cable got hot and it busted ok we didn't pay for that but we had to pay for the new shifter they installed cause they said that the shifter was broken i think they broke it cause it was find when we had it. Third one was in 2009 the cars computer went out and the dealership doesn't know why but that it had caught on fire so we just paid our deductible so i was ok with that. So i remember telling my wife lets see what goes wrong with the car in 2010. But this was the worst coming home from driving about 50 mph and the car shuts off and the brakes lock in place but lucky i was alone and not with my family. So i called a wrecker to give me a boost but they couldn't start the car so we took it back to the dealership comes to find out we have a blown motor and they said it was caused by not doing oil changes how an that be if we bring it here to get the oil changes so he didn't know what to say but im already 61000 miles and my warranty people old republic don't want to fix so we saw the motor and it was cracked in half so our family mechanic said that the metal shavings was due to the oil pump went bad so nobody wants to fix but it would cost about 8000 dollars for a new motor so people careful on what u buy.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300. While the key was in the ignition, the vehicle failed to start. The brake pedal was applied, but was stiff and failed to respond. In motion, stationary, or at any time or place.city, highway, and turning those abs controls come on and off. The entire dashboard lights begin to flicker on and off, lose power seems car is going to not perform. Has power then sometimes no power. Abs control module,, antilock brake system, powertrain control module, feels like transmission momentary no power while driving, seems to slip into neutral then to drive. Loss of vehicle control when this happens. These car actions seriously puts mein unsafe vehicle my mom, my grand kids in danger.and in danger. You never know while driving if these defects will happen or not.had to fix gear shift, it locked in park due to pin slipping out. I want all and every single recall fixed for free.this has been going on for a long while.still occuring.
Ignition switch broke, undriveable, completely disabled, had to call wrecker for transportation. I bought this car with 6 miles on it. I have maintained it carefully. I bought a new vehicle for dependable transportation. I recently paid it off so i could be out of car debt. This is the 2nd time this car has left my family stranded. 6800 miles earlier the transmission shifter broke (odi number) is10419761.

This is in regards to my brothers vehicle presently he is deploying to iraq-on july 23 his 8 month old chrysler 300 went up in flames-- the military police found no foul play and chrysler says it was not their fault.

My car will outright just stop for no reason. I will sit at a light and the rpm guage will start going out of control and the car will rev on its own. Then i will start driving and ti will be find until i go to press on the brakes. Then the whole car will cut out. I'm able to get it to turn over again after two or three efforts of turning the key and pumping the brake. It has once done it with my daughter in the car, which i am not okay with. Luckily, we were turning into a neighborhood and not onto the highway into high speed traffic. It turned off and on about 7 times down the road before it started running properly again. It seemed to happen every time i would hit the brakes or attempt to turn. The car cut out like it had run out of gas even though there was plenty in the tank. All the lights on the right side (traction, abs, etc) came on and then disappeared once it started running okay again. I had my fuel pump replaced twice thinking that was the issue and it was not. Something is wrong with this car and it needs to be recalled before someone gets hurt and it's to late to fix it.
When i was driving all electronics shut off but the car could still drive.. So i tryed to turn my four ways on didn't come on i pulled over still no lights working turned my car on lights turned on and my four ways also turned on when i started the car back up.
I was driving my lights started flickering inside and out. I pulled over turned car off then back on and it was completely dead. Had it jump started and then push the gas and car wouldnt move. The it jumped into gear real hard and has been stuck in 2nd gear ever since.
The "abs" light is on when driving and the brake pedal seems stiff and jumps back up when applying the brakes, found possible recall f50 may be related, but is not applicable to this vehicle.
Since feb 2012, the electronic throttle control (etc) light comes on when the car is first started & idling.after the car warms up & is restarted, it seems to run ok.if i try to drive the car before it warms up, the etc & the anti-lock break lights come on. The engine loses power & control of the steering & brakes.after a couple occurrences, on 21 feb 2012, i had the car towed to the dealer (tate dodge chrysler jeep, inc. In glen burnie, md).after being at the dealer for 2 wks & $180 in service fees, the problem was not resolved.since 2012, the problem has continued to occur more often.now it occurs every time i start the car.
Driving on highway during cold winter day (20 degrees or below) when the cars computer system shut down and a few seconds later re-booted.the car continued to do so during the drive home and during the next week until i could get an appointment with local dealership.took to dealership and they were unsure of the issue. Showed them a video that was taken while driving on the highway (very unsafe to have your car totally shut down while going 70 mph).they replaced the ignition switch -- not warrantied, $300 repair.this has happened every year with the exception of 2012 (weather in region was warmer and didn't meet conditions as previous years).now it's 2013 and the same thing happened during a recent blizzard.dealership says their hands are tied, but i think this is a chrysler defective part issue.something in very cold weather is causing the computer system to shut down, which could cause a driver to lose control of the vehicle.this is a scary situation, especially if you don't know what's happening.i have video of the issue from a recent commute, as well as the documentation of the on-going issue starting back in 2010.chrysler was contacted on 2/21/2013 with the details.my utmost concern is that this will (or has) caused a fatality and chrysler seems unwilling to acknowledge the problem with this defective part. .
Car stuck park.found instructions in manual to release brake transmission shift interlock system override by pressing the pink tab.that did not work.used a strew driver to manually move the gear out of park.went to garage and asked that the pink tab be replaced.i was told that this was common on chryslers and that the entire gear shift had to be replaced.is there a recall?

Vehicle appears to have a faulty esp (assume it stood for emergency skid protection) or anti-lock brake system.the car will slid on minor downward slops when snow is on the ground even when moving at a very slow speed (10-20mph).it doesn't have to be much snow on the ground either for this to occur.it occurs also rather the esp feature is on or off. The brakes feel like they are pumping themselves and have a grinding sound when pressed on. I am unable to control the car from sliding or shifting.it once slid into an intersection.another time during a slide on a very minor slop, had it not been for the car in front of me being at least 2-3 car lengths ahead of me, i would have slid right into the back of it.i have taken it to keystone chrysler where i purchased it.they ran a diagnostics on it but indicated that nothing showed up.however, they refuse to actually drive the car in snow conditions to see what i am experiencing and is reporting.i am uncomfortable and extremely fearful to drive the car any longer in snow like conditions.i have a truck which i drive the majority of the winter months which is why this was not detected sooner.additionally, the car shifts when encountering bumps in the road, especially if you're going in a downward direction and brakes are being applied.this occurs during wet or dry conditions.

I purchased a 2007 chrysler 300 at the end of 2012 with 24k miles on it.since purchasing it the car has continued to stall - while in motion at speeds of 55 mph and while under 10 mph.i have invested a considerable amount of money over a two year period trying to remedy the problem including the replacement of the purge valve in december 2014.the car stalled again today while driving 50 mph, and was difficult to restart.

I bought a 07 chrysler 300 at 126k. I had just got an oil change like a month before and radiator clean. One day i'm driving and then i parked and then i crank it up and it just starts making noise out of no where.so icut it off and on and it's making clacking noise. I didn't have no lights on when i bought the car 3 months ago and it still doesn't have a light on. It just locked š”’ up on me out of no where. I didn't even get a chance to enjoy my car.i only had it 3 months and my motor locked up on me with no warning ā ļø¸ no lights. I been reading and i see they been saying something about the oil pump going out in chrysler motors. Now i hear they don't even make my size motor no more. U have to buy a remanufactured or rebuild one. That's alot of money i just spent to get it and now i got to pay the same amount i paid for the car for a motor because the oil pump went out without a sign or warning or light. I'm out of $5,000 and i gotta pay another $5,000 for motor. That is not right. I wish chrysler would do something about this. That's alot of money gone down the drain in 3 months and i kept it clean and running. My oil ain't even turn color yet. It's still clear. My car been sitting down going on a whole year.
While i was at a red light to make a u turn my car was runing just fine , i proceded to make my u turn half way through my cars engine complete shuts off without warning or knowledge that it did due to everything else working just fine in the middle of traffic at that point my steering wheel got hard and i had to push it out of traffic. Did not feel safe that my car just shut off while driving i had my children in the car thankfully it did not result to any accident or injuries but it could have. Afraid to drive the car at all at the moment.
The car just shuts off when am driving. All the dashboard light go on and no power. The car shuts off when i stop and put it in park and other gears.

Vehicle parked in my driveway for 3 hours when it caught fire. Vehicle fire started under hood . Vehicle is totaled.
Engine dropped a valve seat on the intake valve of the number 4 cylinder causing it to break up inside the engine causing scratches inside the cylinder and needing engine resurfacing new cylinder head new piston new rings new gaskets in total over 3000 dollars into the rebuild and many man hours to complete after reading 300 forums this has beena common problem on them the valve seat dropped on start up after a short five minute drive i shut the vehicle off for two minutes ran to see a friend of mine knocked no one was home so i got back in the car and turned it over it cranked and tried to start then i herd this noise that didn't sound good so i immediately shut it down and had it towed and didn't try starting it again till after work was completed it cost over 3grand and was a full engine tear down some of the cost was for parts that since the engine was removed was the ideal time to replace like the main bearings and oil pump but most the cost was directly related to the defect that caused this to happen if this would have dropped on freeway at freeway speeds that would have three that piston through the side of the motor the piston just on start up was destroyed causing the vehicle engine to seize up restricting the pistons movement to restrict it from a full revolution had there been more momentum of the crankshaft it would have snapped a rod most likely and ruptured through the side of the block causing a very unsafe situation i have had several issues with the vehicles cooling system and many others have as well this overheating problem due to the cooling system may have caused the valve seat to overheat and in return drop the valve seat but i find it hard to believe that in that five to ten minute drive this caused it to drop however previous driving and over heating issues may have set it up for future failure
Driving 60 miles per hour on a houston, texas crowded and busy freeway. My chrysler 300 caught on fire immediately followed by thick black smoke anda strong smell of burning of burning plastic. The car caused cars to come to a complete stop on a 5 lane freeway because of the thick smoke. My steering wheel locked so loss of steering, brakes became mushy. Right before the loud boom fire and smoke. The check engine displayed and then the other lights in the instrument panel and sound of a pop then boom of smoke all within approx 5 seconds. It happened really fast.i have no special equipment. No rewiring of stereo equipment orany other kind of rewiring.all factory parts.
My engine shuts off when the car is low idling, typically in highway stop and go traffic or at a stop light. Everything shuts down, but the car starts up again 15 to 30 seconds after it stops. This has happened every year since i bought the car (2007) first occurring @ 25,000 miles. I experience this 4-5 times per year, usually during the winter with cooler temperatures and rain (i live in southern california).

The car involved is a 2007 chrysler 300. I was stopped at a red light & front end began to shake , i pulled into a parking lot & shut car off . I got out and seen anti-freeze coming out. My mechanic picked the car up and said the engine cooling fan assembly separated & the fan blades broke off & went through my radiator and also caused engine issues . After i picked it up , i began research on this problem . I found a ( campaign - radiator cooling fan replacement bulletin from chrysler corp. From june 2011 ( mdh 042912 ) that said the fan could separate & cause damage to the radiator , i never received notice & i gave them my vin # & they said my vehicle was not part of the recall & would not re-imbursed me for the repair and tow bill . They said that was for 2006-2007 & 2008 models built up to april 29 , 2008 ( my car was built in may of 2007 ) , i told them that the same problem listed in the recall happened to my car . April 11, 2013 is when this cooling fan issue happened.
Chrysler 300 series and dodge chargers have a plastic dipstick handle that swells and breaks in the tube. As a service technician this is costing the company money and poses a potential safty risk if the proper oil level can not be checked

Check engine light on for p1004 cel"intake short runner control valve actuator, a tsb is listed as chrysler knowingly acknowledges a faulty part and has issued a tsb repair cost approx $2000 for a know defective actuator that may be stuck due to a poor design, will not pass california emissions due to cel chrysler will not honor under warranty that expired in july, attempted to get repaired at dealer was denied said was not covered, should have been repaired under warranty, or at least emissions warranty that is 7 years or 100000 miles from my understanding. Per three mechanics, the cooling fan and cooling pipe thermostat went out in the vehicle. As a result of these parts loosening, the radiator developed a hole in it. My car was leaking radiator fluid and stopped running unexpectedly. I had to have the car towed to a local repair shop, and decided to call around for a second, third, fourth and fifth opinion. Each mechanic diagnosed the problem and stated that there was a recall with these same issues listed with the same vehicle type and year. I have contacted chrysler consistently regarding this issue, but they were not able to assist me and referred me to this website. I am hoping that someone investigates this, as this issue is very costly and not as a result of abuse or poor use of the vehicle.

The fan broke and flew into the radiator, puncturing it.this caused the car to lose power and die while i was driving. Thankfully, i had just turned onto a street and was able to pull over to the side of the road. If it had happened while i was on the highway, it could have been extremely dangerous.apparently, chrysler has recalled the fan assembly on some of the models, but not on mine.it looks like this needs to be done to prevent others from having the same problem.
On yesterday i pulled into my driveway after picking up my seven year old son from school put my car into park and the exhaust fan explored. The blades hit the radiator so hard it put a hole in it. The fluid from the radiator poured out onto the drive. All i could do was sit and thank god it didn't happen the day before because i was out of town and i had to replace the shift lock in this same car as it was struck in park.what's next????? how many people have to complain about these two problems before a recall is issued.clearly this is a problem with all these cars.
My chrysler 300 is 1.5 years old with less than 18,000 miles on it. It has been in the repair shop (dealership) twice for major problems. This latest one is life-threatening. The engine suddenly just stops. The car immediately looses power and coasts to a stop. No warning. The engine dies and steering becomes very difficult. I just spoke to the service rep and he says they can't find anything wrong because the engine light doesn't come on. This car is a real hazard and could potentially cause a serious accident. I've filed a complaint with the chrysler corporation but have not heard back from them. I will never buy another chrysler product.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300.the vehicle was purchased on february 11, 2007 and the malfunction light remained illuminated for two days.on february 17, 2007 and february 22, 2007, the vehicle began to shake while being parked.the owner called carmax and made an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed.the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.while driving 50 mph and greater, the vehicle's shaking intensified.a forensic expert with daimler chrysler stated that two brains were defective in the vehicle and both were replaced.after the repairs were performed, the shaking worsened.on may 7, 2007, the vehicle was towed to carmax where it currently remains.the current mileage is 2,600 and failure mileage was 8.the consumer stated vehicle makes popping sound when shifting gears and check engine light illuminated and then went off.
Car is stalling all the time.it's very dangerous !i believe it is very inappropriate for 100,000 customers to be having the same problem and chrysler not recall and fix this problem.my car is in the shop now again!!!!
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300 touring. The contact stated that while driving and stopping, the vehicle emitted a loud noise and the contact noticed that anti-freeze was leaking. I've owned the car for six and a half years now.at times the car just loses power without any warning. This happens intermittently and doesn't seem to matter what speed i'm going or what the road conditions are. It happens in good weather (dry roads) and bad weather (wet snowy roads). It's happened both with the cruise control on and off. It has happened at least 10 times to date.at times the car slows to almost a complete stop and then takes off again.at times it has come to a complete stop. I've had to turn the car off and back on again and it's fine. Lately when it happens if i press the gas petal repeatedly the car will take off again and be fine until the next time it happens.i've never had any check engine light or instrument panel light come on. I've taken it to the chrysler dealer a few times throughout my ownership but it never duplicates the problem for them (of course). The car now has 113,000 miles on it and is out of warranty (figures). This is very dangerous.

My husband is in the military, therefore we are stationed in new orleans, la. On may 25, 2008 we had a terrible rain storm in the city. We live in base housing so we park our vehicles in a parking lot. At about 5:00p.m. The end of the parking lot were my 2007 chrysler 300 limited was parked begin to flood with water. My husband went out to move the car from the before the water got to high. At this time there was approximately 3 inches of water on the ground. He backed the car out of the parking space to move it. One of the neighbors was coming the parking lot at the time and forced my husband to drive out into the street and re-enter the parking lot.as he drove out into the street, i noticed that he immediately stopped.i went out to see what was wrong and he told me the car shut-off. A couple of our neighbors helped him push it out of the street into the parking lot. Not sure what was wrong we called out insurance and they sent out a tow truck to get the vehicle and take it to a near by chrysler dealership. The dealership called on friday to let us know that the vehicle sucked up water through the air intake and hd=ydrolocked the engine. After doing some research we found out theair intake for this car, and its counterparts the dodge charger and magnum, are located on the bottom of the front bumper approximately 20in. Above the ground. I have researched this issue and have been amazed how many people have had this same problem because the air intake system is poorly designed.chrysler needs to own up to this design flaw and take responsibility for the problems it is causing. I watched numerous other vehicles drive down that street that day, some at a much faster rate than my husband, and they had no problems.this is really a bad design. Chrysler needs to recall all 2006 and 2007 chrysler 300, dodge magnum and dodge charger. Our insurance should not have to pay to have my vehicle repaired for a poorly designed system. I hope to here from chrysler soon!

I started up the vehicle and there was a weird noise coming from up under the hood.i thought it could have been the vehicle beside me so i turned my car off and the noise stopped.i started my vehicle again and heard the noise again.so i turned off the motor, raised the hood and observed coolant on the vehicle's frame and on the ground.i took the vehicle to a repair shop and they found that one of the two cooling fans separated and punctured the radiator in several locations.i learned of a recall for this issue with my particular vehicle but chrysler is refusing to pay for the repairs stating that my vehicle is not included in the recall even though the issue specifically stipulated in the recall occurred to my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300.in february of 2008, while driving 25 mph, the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic and had to be towed.the motor sustained more than $2,000 worth of damage.a few pistons were replaced and other repairs were performed.in july of 2004, the contact began hearing a ticking sound and the vehicle shut down and would not restart.the vehicle is currently in the repair shop again for what she believes to be the same failure.the current mileage was 26,000 and failure mileage was 18,000.
I have a 2007 chrysler 300 and i've had it for a little over a year. I admit i do drive frequently but i keep my vehicles in great condition. I have 52,000 miles on my car and my engine has gone out. How it happened i believe it had to be a lemon from the start, sad to say i don't want to pay for a new engine and i don't have an extended warranty .i wonder what possibly can i have done about this.
I purchased abrand new 2007 chrysler 300l in june 2008 with 127 miles my car has been to service 7 times for numerous reasons. First in june my sunroof would not close took it in i was told fuse was bad also took it back in 12-2008 cold air was coming thru was told sunroof was misaligned. 7-2008 only had 1800 miles check engine light came on was told intake manifold tuning valve failure check engine light came in again in 12-2008(7k miles) took to service was told transmission leak fault replaced adapter left the service department 10 mins later check engine light came on again i immediately called & asked to speak with the service manager & i took my vehicle back the next day which i was told they found no problem why check engine light was illuminated & found no problem stored code for short runner valve control to reset check engine light. Been having constant problems with brakes grinding & squeaking since 2k miles took car to service in 8-2008 (3k miles)complaining of brakes was told found no problem brakes were at 95% front & rear pads still heard brakes noise complained to customer service & took car back to service in 9-2008 went for test ride with service manager he stated it was my front pads brought car back they changed my front pads(4k miles). Still heard noise called customer service to complain about braked in 10-2008 took my car to another service department (5k miles) they stated it was my rear brakes & rotors which they replaced took it back 12- 2008 i was told my brakes were at 50% & 2 days later i was told my brakes lining was 8-9 mm. I asked the service manager for a complete detailed summary of my car history i found out a customer complained about brakes shake when applied with only 107 miles on the car 4-2008the service department stated front rotors out of round replace front rotors. Also some electrical work was done in 3-2008. I have filed a lemon law with chrysler & i also reached out to an attorney to handle my case.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300. While driving 60 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. The contact pulled over and discovered a hole in the radiator. The radiator fan was fractured. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300.while driving 30 mph, the check engine light illuminated then the vehicle mph decreased to 10.the dealer did not inspect the vehicle.approximately one week later while driving 40 mph, the check engine light illuminated then the vehicle mph decreased to 20.in addition, the contact stated the vehicle would not accelerate when she depressed the accelerator.the dealer stated that a code on the vehicle caused the failure and they reset the code.approximately one week later the failure occurred again while driving 60 mph.the dealer stated that valve body caused the failure.they removed and cleaned the valve body however the failure continued to occur.the failure mileage was 200 and current mileage was 2,156.
I have a 2007 chrysler 300. I bought it used on 6/14/08. Within a month that i bought it, the car stalled on me. A chrysler dealership/garage was not able to find anything major except the throttle had built in debris. Ever since that time, the car has not ran smoothly. Most of the times, the car feels that it loses energy/power when i start to drive it (like when i start the engine and start driving). It also makes a noise when it needs to "shift" to the next power (it is automatic transmission). In 6/09-7/09, my engine light turned on, which the garage that i had to take it to that can repair any type of emission issues needed to replace a valve and then the light did not turn on anymore. Even after this repair, the car continues to feel like if it loses power. I have regular oil changes done so i do not know what is wrong. I feel that there can be some manufacture defect; however, since i have complained about the issues to different dealerships, they seem not to find any problems.
No warning. Car all of a sudden died when driving down the street with 2 children in backseat. Almost rearended by an suv.car would not restart for about 1-2 minutes. When it did finally start had a knocking noise and other sounds. Vehicle had no power to go very sluggish.had car towed the next day to dealer. Warranty denied claim due to oil sludge.
2007 chrysler 300 touring. Consumer states problems with shifting and power *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle would stall and then the throttle light and esp/trac light illuminated. The dealer replaced the shifter assembly. The engine light illuminated and the dealer replaced the upper intake and egr o-ring. The consumer then stated there was a noise coming from the shifter.the dealer found a delaxed engagement and the pump whined when the engine was revved. The dealer removed the transmission cleaned and inspected all the internal parts. The pump and output shaft seal were replaced.
Car won't come out of park to drive. The lever inside is broke. Dealer says it's not just the lever it's the whole sifter transfer case.
Parked the car at home and the next morning could not remove the car out of park.
I had driven my car home from work, i was on the street i live on and waiting for an ambulance to clear the entrance to my drive way so i could park. I put my car in park at the direction of the emergency response team, once the emergency vehicle had cleared the entrance i was unable to shift my car back in to drive, or reverse. It was stuck in the park position. I had to call a tow truck to move my vehicle from the road in order not to block traffic, i was also slightly in the lane of on coming traffic due to the placement of the emergency vehicles at the time (i live in an assisted living facility, it is normal for the emergency vehicles to be present on and around the property and they often direct other vehicles outside of the normal flow of traffic.) after this incident i found chrysler had recalled several vehicles of the same make, model and year as mine. However the manufacturer informed me that my vin number was not on the list, even though i had the same exact issue, chrysler claimed this to be coincidental. Had my vehicle been hit while blocking traffic, would chrysler then fix this issue? would the government require them to address this issue if someone does get hurt? what has to happen before they are held responsible for the product that has clearly had the same defect they already know exists? i am appalled that they can knowingly have a defective product and claim it to be coincidental. On top of that, they profit from selling the replacement part, the labor and they don't cover the towing expense to have it repaired, since i was unable to drive my vehicle to the dealership. Didn't our tax dollars recently go to a bail out? would be nice to have a company that wants to ensure their products are safe and operating in a correct manner. Extremely disappointed.
Vehicle was parked;vehicle would not shift from park, immediately after driving.vehicle towed to hendrick chrysler for repair.vehicle was recalled,feb.2007 ref.#f50. I purchased same from listed dealer,10-12-2007 and vehicle was not serviced reference the noted recall before selling to me(months later);i was never advised of same recall.my vehicle meets all criteria for recall,i.e.,time of manufacture, vin. Number specifications, plus, same symptoms noted in recall matches my breakdown symptoms(plus the un-reprogrammed computer factors into the breakdown.i have documentation of same).i called chrysler today for repair reimbursement costs and a [xxx], hid behind the"typical" chrysler response to this issue that i have read in numerous reviews on-line about this problem, being:"your vin. # does not fall within range." i have paperwork which was on www.safecars.gov, that states otherwise.also,i have all needed documents to rebut the idea that my vin.# disqualifies my claim;some generated by chrysler.yet chrysler believes it only has to use words to me and others to escape any and all product responsibility.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Emergency car jack failed while changing tire on flat surface, car jack gave out and dropped vehicle breaking rear stabilizer bar. Could have been seriously injured if i was by tire location or under vehicle. The car also has a shifter column that will lock in park and will not change to any other gear, locks shifter leaving you stranded. Chrysler has recall on other vehicles using same equipment but not the 2007 chrysler 300c.the car jack could not support vehicle and bent almost in half.

My car cuts off very frequently while driving. This has been going on for a few months now. We read that it could be the fuel sensor but i can have a full tank of gas or half tank and it still cuts off. It has cut off at the red light, green light while crossing the intersection, getting off the highway etc. We have brought in to places but they cannot find what's causing it to shut off. The car was brought from drive time and it's still under warranty so we asked drive time to allow us to bring it to a chrysler dealership but they refused and said their shops should be sufficient. We know that the feds are investigating chrysler for engine stalling but we have yet to have help with this vehicle. This is very dangerous and i fear for out or anyone life who are in this vehicle with us. Please help with this matter.

I just purchased my car in late april it is now november. I didn't notice the brake problem which is a vibration when i came to a stop, until a week after. I figured i probably need new brake pads. One of my least concerns. But last month i began to smell gas. I thought it was just the other vehicles around me or the location i was at. I looked under the car and there's was no leak. I kept doing this when i smelled gas and nothing. Last night november 6 2011, i filled up my tank to go out of town. When i was leaving to go back home from the long ride, the parking area smelled like gas! it was leaking from my car! about a quarter of gas leaked. This time i saw a puddle on the ground where the back passenger side would be. Not only was this embarrassing but i had my wife and child with me in the car that i had to take home smelling this as well as taking the risk of blowing up! we did not have any other way of getting home, that's why i had no choice and took the risk. Thank god we got home safe. This is just ridiculous.

2007 chrysler 300 with 43,684. Problem fuel cap leaking.not covered under warranty.the dealership galena chrysler would not pay for repair.call chrysler headquarters(ref# 19582516) said not a safety issue and i had to pay for the repair.the check engine light came on i took it to galena chrysler in fort myers fl.i had the same problem one year ago to the day, same dealership, said nothing wrong.i think fuel and vapors have been leaking for over a year with this car.i feel this is a major safety issue and should be looked into.i know it must be a problem, because no one from chrysler headquarters called me back or email.after 4 days in the shop i just had to pay for it.no matter how old the car safety problems must be covered by the manufacturer.how me people have to die until we address the problem?
Car started making a loud noise in the engine. Sounds like a tractor.
Everytime i fill up my fuel tank or even put maybe about $30 worth of fuel in my car it randomly stalls out while driving.this has happened several times and has been dangerous.in intersections, after getting off a highway and while driving on the street.this is not safe.i have taken this car for several repairs.i now have a new battery, starter, and alternator.the dealer checked it and told me to fix this it will be $1100 or more and that may not fix the problem.
I purchased a 2007 chrysler 300 in 6/2/07 as a demo model with 954 miles on it.on the way home from the dealership i noticed a rough idle and also a vibration in my front end while maintaining speeds at around 45 mph.i had to put the vehicle in for service on 06/11/07 and it took until 6/21/07 to get it back.the front end vibration was caused by a bad torque converter, however once driving my vehicle i noticed the rough idle hadn't been repaired.then on 5 separate occasions when going from a complete stop accelerating to get up to speed, when the vehicle should be going from 1st to second gear the engine just wines and it takes approx 10-15 seconds to kick into gear, making it extremely dangerous especially when merging into traffic.i turned it back in for service on 6/3/07 and as of today they still don't know what the problem is.they have had a field service engineer from chrysler come in to look at it and he doesn't know either.

Fuel vapor in cabin
Vehicle dies while driving and wile coming to a stop in town. No check engine light. No codes - took it in to the chrysler dealership and they diagnosed a bad fuel tank. The inlet flapper on the fuel tank is defective allowing fuel to overflow the charcoal canister. This is the same problem as the 2005-2006 models that now come with a lifetime warranty on fuel tanks. I called chrysler and they are not willing to work with me to replace it or consume some of the costs, and it is a safety issue. It has dies out in the middle of an intersection over 10 times and wont always re-start. Sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes, and other times it starts right back up. I was in the middle of a turn and the car stalled out and i almost hit the vehicle to the right of me. It is very dangerous and needs to be included in the lifetime warranty issued to 2005/2006 models.
At various times since i bought this car new, this vehicle stalled and/or violentlyshook while at stop light thinking someone must have hit me.when filling up with premium gas, the pump will trip and stop putting gas.i have to hold the pump slightly higher so that it will not trip.i could never use the pump rest for this car so that i don't have to hold the pump the entire time.we even choose gas stations that do not have ethanol mix.on tuesday, 2/7/17, it shook and stalled at different times during the day while at stop light.on the same day, while in motion and making a curve on a narrow 2-way street, i suddenly could not steer the car.i stopped with my emergency flashers, turned off everything, and had to restart the car.we took it for service for same reasons and the dealer could not find any issues.
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300. The contact stated that there were strong fuel fumes present outside and inside the vehicle. Upon re-fueling the fuel tank, the fuel gauge did not display the correct fuel level. The contact noticed a leak under the vehicle from the rear to the front and there was an abnormal noise when the vehicle was driven. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection and diagnostic testing, but the contact was not able to schedule a repair. The towing company noticed an extensive leak and parked the vehicle in a parking lot. The contact received notification from the state to move the vehicle due to the fuel leak fumes being a hazard. The vehicle was towed to a second dealer and they did not diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and kept there for weeks. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact mentioned that the 2005 and 2006 chrysler 300 had a recall for the same failure. The failure mileage was 63,000. Updated 9/19/18
Car shut off while driving, there was a strong gasoline odor coming from underneath the vehicle, turned back on after a few minutes, gas cap light came on, went to autozone to run scanner and got code p0440, checked all evap components and lines and noticed something loose on top of fuel tank, rollover valve popped off and there was fuel all around it... I'm lucky there were no sparks from anything, had a full tank!
Help!!!
While driving on an urban street at 30 miles per hour the car lost power, and then accelerated, and then failed completely. It would not start, but after waiting a short time, it did start. When i took it to the dealer 2 sensors, associated with the throttle control module, were replaced. Ten months later it recurred - was "fixed" , and now it has occurred for the third time.
April 23 my battery caught on fire in blow my whole car up fire marshal told me electrical problems
My 2007 chrysler 300 base model has a defect wherei get stuck in park and cannot get out of this position on my shift panel. Icontactedmy dealership and they explained to me that its a small cheap plastic part that broken off and disengaged my shift controls. Nowi am very disappointed in purchasing this vehicle and will never buy any dodge make ever because of this. I would like there to be a recall on all these kinds of makes so i would be stuck with a $200 problem that can just decide to come out of nowhere. I hope my voice is heard and if i am not regared after this complaint i will be very disappointed.regards customer

Went to get into my car to drive home after work and i could not get it to shift out of park. I had no warnings, drove the car just fine to work that this morning, but went i went to leave work was when it happened. My husband came and took my center console apart around the shifter and he found the little pink part inside had broke. Why would they use a pink plastic part for such an important part???? by the time we got home everything is closed and we can't get a price on the part yet.
Gear shift stuck in park
After my car had been sitting at work for about 10 hours, i found that i was unable to get my car out of park. The shifter was locked up, and would not move into gear. I googled the issue, and found that there was an under designed plastic piece in the shifter assembly located under the shift knob that was known to break and cause this issue. I had to tear apart my center console and use a screw driver to manually pull on a cable in order to unlock the shifter and allow me to get out of park. Had i not had the correct tools in my vehicle, i would have been stuck. I had the part replaced, but experienced a second occurrence about 4 months later. This time i found that my car was stuck in gear. I was freely able to move between drive, neutral, and reverse, but was unable to move the shifter into park. To add to the head ache, because the touring edition has a slap stick function (similar to a manual transmission car), putting the vehicle in gear does not cause the transmission to lock up. This fact, compounded by the fact that the parking brake did not supply sufficient stopping power to hold the car at a standstill on even a mild grade slope, i was unable to secure the vehicle from rolling away unless on a completely flat surface. I had to place wood blocks under the wheels to avoid the car from rolling away.
Parked the car at home and the next morning could not remove the car out of park.

He removed the entire top portion around the gear shift and said to release the gear shift use your finger along the cable and push the first thing you feel.it worked and each time i remove from park, i have to run my finger along the cable and push the button. He said that a pink $14 part is defective and needs to be replaced.i called the chrysler dealer and they quoted me $450 to repair. This is regarding the transmission. While driving, the transmission would suddenly jerk as it wasabout to shift. This would happen mostlywhen slowing down, then accelerating to merge with traffic. This is a recurring problem since i bought the car in 2007 to 2020! last occurred september 13, 2020.

I have owned two chrysler 300's both being the model year 2007 and both have had the same problem with the gear shift getting stuck in park.leaving to take my son to summer school this morning and could not get my car out of the park position. Had to breakinto the center console and use a screwdriver to get the car in drive."unfortunately" i knew how to do this because the 2007 model that i owned three years ago did the exact same thing.i have to leave my car in neutral and put my parking brake down when ever i park my car because if i place it in park i will have to go through all of the steps again to unlock it. Huge issue and needs to be recalled immediately.also what's interesting is that the replacement piece happens to be medal.so i ask why would chrysler go the cheap route and place a plastic piece in all of the vehicles (that cost a pretty penny) instead of doing it right the first time and having the medal piece in it from the start.sounds like a way to get customers to go to the dealership for repairs and spend more money.horrible business ethics and due to this issue happening to me twice on two separate vehicles i will never purchase another chrysler jeep or dodge again!
Broken prk lock out mechanism.

And asked me for the vin # i gave it to them and the told me my car was not on the recall list if this is such a widespread problem as the service technician said it was, why has there not been a recall issued for all of 2007 and not just for a couple of months.

I bought this 2007 chrysler 300 in 2008. It had approximately 86,000 miles on it. Before it reached 100,000 miles the problems had already started.

Car was stuck in park and unable to place into reverse. Research indicated this is a know problem for several makes of chrysler products from 2005 thru 2007. Chrysler issued a letter custome satisfaction notification k39, floor shifter interlock lever, the car must be towed or parts removed to allow the shifter to placed into drive or reverse. The letter indicated repairs at no cost to the customer, just schedule your service appointment; which will take about one hour to repair. Eight hours, $429.00 and one hour on the phone with chrysler (800-853-1403, for them to say sorry your failed part will not be covered. 1000's of vehicles are impacted by this highway robbery by chrysler and people are makeing home made repairs or leaving the vehicle in neutral not park as designed. Please review this known issue and the methods chrysler is using to sucker people to get their repair business. Cars are being stuck at work, in garages, rest areas on highways and shopping centers.

The car couldn't be taken out of park.finally broke into the shifter lever by removing the covers (very tricky to do, as i didn't have my tools), so my husband wouldn't have to come pick me up an hour away.i almost didn't figure this out, so lucky for me i kept trying it.there are lots (many, many) sites that talk about this same problem on chrysler 300s, including youtube (which shows how to unscrew the whole thing), and automotive forums.there are some small neon pink plastic pieces that keep the shifter lever working properly, the only thing keeping the car from becoming a giant paperweight (unless one knows to pull apart the covers all the way to access the gears/wires - not a reasonable thing to expect from most consumers).for now, i have to pull a wire to get out of park. Happens when put in reverse also.this also leads to ppl keeping their foot on the brake instead of going into park, just so they don't have to mess with the wire. We have people accidentally going forward and hitting things as they try to stay in drive rather than putting it into park, while talking to someone they know on the street/sidewalk and forgetting to keep their foot on the brake,(be it at a slow speed, but still not good if children get in the way while one isn't paying attention).i will be taking the car back to dealer to see what can be down about it.this is definitely a problem for anyone relying on their car being able to do simple things like shift into drive (or really anything other than 'park'), and is a safety risk due to drivers attempting to use the car.what could have disturbed these plastic pieces is my mile long dirt driveway that is a little bumpy and very wet currently.i would really like to see something done on this, so that other people don't go through the same problem as i did.thank you!
I have a 2007 chrysler 300 and i love it until now!!! on friday 5/6/11 i was pulling out of my drive way when i put the car on "park" to close my gate i got back it and it was stuck on "park" even with trying the "pink release button". From what i researched it is a very common problem in this type of car. There really should be a recall on this vehicle. It is ridiculous that the manufacture won't cover this problem with no charge to the costumers. I am extremely disappointed in chrysler and will never do business with this company again!!

Vehicle cranks just fine, but i cannot shift it from 'park' into any other gear - it is locked in 'park'.internet searches identify this is a common problem for several chrysler vehicles; the problem is a cheap, plastic, "pink" shift interlock mechanism that breaks.although apparently common, chrysler has not initiated a recall for this part.i talked to service managers at two different regional chrysler dealerships and then called the chrysler '800' number to complain.they all told me the same thing - i am on my own in repairing this part; it is not covered by warranty nor recall.however, my small town service manager says he fixes 2-3 of these chrysler problems every week (at owners expense since they can't take it the 30 miles to the nearest chrysler dealership), and he is sure that there is a recall for this part.he replaces the broken shift interlock mechanism with the redesigned chrysler part!chrysler needs to be forced to initiate a recall on this part and to reimburse owners who have had to have the part repaired at their expense.
I own a 2007 chrysler 300 touring with only 44,000 miles on it.my gear would not shift out of park.there is an override switch ("pink" ) that did not work as well.i got online to check to see if there were any recalls on this matter and there was not; however, when i checked online, i noticed several complaints and blogs about these cars with the same problem from 2005 to current.this should be a recall matter.today, monday, july 6, 2009 i took my vehicle to the shop and they told me that the entire gift shift assembly was busted.they said that it was a crappy design and chrysler has since made a little better design shift gear than the one that is in my vehicle now.i believe chrysler is aware of this problem and they should be responsible for recalling these shift gear and replace with the "more improved" design.

I have a 2007 chrysler 300 that is stuck in park.i'm aware of the k39 recall & after calling was toldthe dates of being built was june 25-sept 21 2007 is the actual recall & mine was built may 30 2007, so by less than 30 days my car is not covered under the recall.the recall included 28,000 plus cars.obviously the problem is beyond those dates listed above.the problem needs further investigated.so due to just shy of a month i'm without a car.i can't afford to have it towed & repaired at approx $300 to $400 per the dealership.i feel & believe strongly that my car should be included in this recall & should be repaired at the cost of chrysler. When shifting into drive or reverse, there is a noticable delay in responding since i purchased the car in sept. 2011.i purchased the car with 67,000 miles, and now has 83,000 miles.there is also a dangerous pause/delay that occurs when attempting to accelerate, especially in traffic.once the transmission catch, it makes the car lunge in either to the right or left depending on direction of front tires.i have taken car to the dealer who indicated the 300 hemi does that with the electronic transmission because of the power of the engine and nothing can be done.this is a serious safety issue that should be repaired by chrysler and not the owner.
Gear shift stuck in park wont shift, locked up in park position also while driving the acelerator rises to show a excellerate speed then goes quickly back down to the speed you were traveling ex: going 55 and guage quckly rises to 65 or 70 and drops to 55 again within seconds without going any faster than 55.

My 2007 chrysler 300 stuck in park under warranty dealer towed it to shop to replace shifter. Parked in garagewent leave the next day would notshift from park car has 10,500 miles.

Incident happened with 2007 chrysler 300 at 61,ooo miles. This occurred one time with the consequence of being stuck where you are parked, undriveable, completely disabled. Vehicle cannot be moved, unless you remove the shifter cover and push a part of the shifter with your finger. The shifter assembly was replaced. We were first told at the dealership that this was a recalled part and we wouldn't be charged. After waiting a week and a day, we were charged, to get our vehicle back i paid the bill. I asked for my old shifter assembly back and grudgingly got it back. We are currently driving the car.
I was at work today and my vehicle would not come out of park when i got ready to leave, i am a female and this is not safe with me getting off at nights. This is the second time this has happened, the first time was the day before while stuck on the highway in traffic due to an accident i could not get my veh out of park, i had to call the dealer and i was adv to take the chrome part off where my gear shifter is and pull a pink button and it should release the gears, that didn't work so i had to use a pen to push the other pink part underneath and it released my veh. This is very dangerous. This should be a recall .

Chrysler 300 6 cylinder auto-transmission (2007)when driving the speed limit in my neighborhood 25 mph. The car will shift between two gears back and forth causing a hopping sensation. Also on cold take off when the transmission shifts from 1st to 2cd gear, it jumps hard into 2 cd and jumps a couple of times. It does this occasionally at other speeds and other circumstances but is most noticeable as mentioned. Dealer check says everything is fine. After checking by dealer, the problem still exists and is seemingly getting worse.

I have a 2007 chrysler 300, went out this am to go to work and the gear shift is stuck in park. Had to get a ride into work. Got on line and found pages of this same problem on multiple cars from chrysler. Saw the k39 notification form called chrysler, my vin is not listed, they can't help me out. Per other people will cost $300-600.00 to fix out of my pocket. This is a defective part and needs to be recalled on any vehicle it affects. Called the parts dept. At chrysler the part is 85 cents. But the dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for the labor to do it. This is ridiculous, i'm disgusted with chrysler right now. They need to step up and do the right thing, their customer value has gone out the window.i will not be buying any more cars from them in the future.
Gear shift locked in park.could not move it out of park even after using the reset button.had to call a tow truck.tow truck could not tow due to the driveway and position of car.mechanic had to make house call.will return tomorrow with a special jack to try to get the car into a position where it can be towed to the shop.expect this to be expensive repair.
Car shifter locked up and could not get vehicle out of "park", after trying really hard to put it into drive, iwas able to get the shifter to change to "drive, but when i got home i had to put extra pressure on the shifter to get to park.this is extremely unsafe because the car could roll by itself since it is extremely hard to place the shifter in park.
I have a 2007 chrysler 300 and it is right under 60,000 miles.it is stuck in park and wont release even with the pink switch . I did some research on line with this problem.. When i got it to the dealer they initially didn't want to fix until they realized i was still cover by initial & extended warranties. I purchased the vehicle feb 07 & since then been deployed 15 months, so the car was only used 21 months.

I bought my chrysler 300 brand new from dealer in august 2007. My first new car. The automatic transmission and torque converter are the problem. From day one there is intermittant ":clunking" when it shifts. Park to reverse. Drive to park. But the scary one is when i'm driving, a few times a week, sometimes more than a few times a day it jumps, really lurches. Enough that at 40 mph, your head gets a good jolt. I've taken it to dealer three times. They replaced the torque converter about a year ago. Was better for a while, now getting worse so it happens every time i drive, city and highway. Basically, they can't fix the problem. They said because it's intermittant. So i had them keep it and drive home themselves. But it happened only once to them. Well, i have the extended warranty. But i wish they would at least give me something back for paying full price for a defected car. They should have given me another car the first time i brought it in.
Whenever the car (2007 chrysler 300 touring) is put into "park" without the emergency brake engaged to hold the car in place, it is very difficult to disengage the transmission from park to any other gear selection when restarting the car and attempting to move it. While i know it is good driving practice to use the emergency brake when parked, it is a must in this vehicle or the transmission gear selector will be very difficult to move. The problem has existed since the vehicle was new. I have not attempted a repair, but religiously apply the parking brake only after shifting into neutral, taking my foot off the brake pedal until the car settles, then putting it into "park."
Excessive torque converter shudder when shifting gears (automatic transmission. Also notice "surging at all speeds, even with cruise control on. Most noticeably at lower rpm's. Dealer notes problem and recordeddata related to problem. Claims chrysler has no fix for this problem. Gas mileage has dropped considerably as problem worsens.

No warning was given.i was leaving work on august3rd, the car wouldn't move out of park.it was stuck in "park".i called the dealership and he said this was a common problem in chrysler cars.my car is a 2007 chrysler 300. 52,000 miles...we have a lifetime warranty on the car and thought that would be covered.when i called chrysler, they said the "gear shift" was not covered under the extended warranty.he proceeds to tell me it will cost $150 to tow it; $150 diagnostic test to determine what the problem is before they can say whether or not the warranty covers it...and if it doesn't, then i will have to pay for the diagnostic test and the price to fix a .50 cents plastic, which is $406.00!!!$706 to fix a "known problem" in chrysler cars.the "gear shifts" in these vehicles should be replaced.there are many blogs on the internet about this "common problem".chrysler needs to issue a recall on "gear shifts" that get stuck in "park" or fix the known problem for free!!!!

A few days ago my 2007 chrysler 300 was stuck in park in the middle of a shopping center lot on a hot az day. The tow truck said that this is the problem he gets calls for most with chryslers. He said that he carries a special tool to get them out of park. He said it is a little plastic pink piece that breaks. At the dealership they new exactly what i was talking about. When researching it on the internet i typed in google chrysler 300 and the first thing that popped up was "chrysler 300 stuck in park" in the search engine. The cashier stated it happens far to much and she wished chrysler would do a recall. It was three hundred and some odd dollars to repair since the car was out of warranty. They put in a new gear shifter with the pink plastic piece. They can't just replace the pink plastic piece. They told me this could happen again and it was under warranty for 12 months. Im not happy about this and i will persuade everyone i know to say away from the chrysler 300 when it comes to buying a new car!
I was driving with my two children and we were stranded when our 2007 chrysler 300 was stuck in park.we cannot get it out of park and were left in a very dangerous part of town.

Driver's side seat belt stuck in the engaged and locked position. I press on the indicated area and it will not release. I am very concerned because i can not where my seat belt.
My passenger side seat belt has gotten stuck numerous times and my passengers including myself have had to climb out.this has been going on for about 2 -3 yrs now. I have brought it to the dealerships attention as well as the warranty personnel.my car is covered bumper to bumper but they tell me this is not covered. This is a safety issue as well as worrisome due to i'm afraid to let people ride with me. I literally have had to climb backwards with the seat all the way supine and climb out back to get out.i'm not sure if there is any recourse i can take for this issue.they have been working with my brakes several times which always seem to have sound problems and issues and everytime i bring up the seatbelt issue but get no where. If u can please advise me on what, if anything can be done.there was no accident that caused this but this form required a date.
The passenger front seat belt locks for no reason and then will not unlock without taking the seat belt off, letting it retract, then putting it on again. When it locks it is super tight and almost chokes you.
While the car is still. Seat belt is stuck and will not release. The air pressure symbol stays on. We have to climb out of the drivers side seatbelt.

The vehicle was parked. We got into the vehicle to drive and the car would not shift out of "park". After doing research, and learning it was an issue with the park release button, we were able to manually get the car into "drive". This was necessary because we were parked at the er of a hospital. Since we couldn't put the car in "park" and we weren't able to get it to a mechanic right away, we would put it in "neutral" and use the emergency brake. The problem is the emergency brake started failing, which seems odd since it was only used a few times.
I bought this 2007 chrysler 300 in 2008. It had approximately 86,000 miles on it. Before it reached 100,000 miles the problems had already started.

My 2007 chrysler 300 base model has a defect wherei get stuck in park and cannot get out of this position on my shift panel. Icontactedmy dealership and they explained to me that its a small cheap plastic part that broken off and disengaged my shift controls. I would like there to be a recall on all these kinds of makes so i would be stuck with a $200 problem that can just decide to come out of nowhere.

To drive.especially since i found there was a recall on this vehicle and i had a wreck.i ran into the back of a cotton wagon.i applied brakes but did not stop, just slide.

My steering went out in my 2007 chrysler 300. I was traveling south on i-5 near exit 165a. I was in the fast lane going 65 mph at 2:45pm when i suddenly lost control of my vehicle and i could no longer steer the vehicle.

Takata recalli was driving on the highway doing 40 mph and had to come to brief stop and the car started shaking violently.i almost got into a major accident during traffic.now everytime i drive the car and try to brake now it shakes and is very unsafe.i then looked under the car and saw that the entire front subframe and engine cradle was completely rusted out to the point that it might break at any moment. I no longer can drive my car safely and i need my vehicle to get to and from work, wife's work and my sons school.i had the car looked at by a mechanic and they said it's going to be very expensive and needs done immediately.they also said that the chrysler pacifica 2006 had the same exact problem and that they had to be recalled.my car only has 50000 miles on it and was garage kept. So i feel like this should not be a problem with my car.it's so dangerous and should be known about.i will have to get it fixed this week and it will cost me a fortune.thank you!
The contact owns a 2007 chrysler 300. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle she noticed that the rear of the vehicle would swerve back and forth. She also noticed a grinding and squeaking sound in the rear brake area. The vehicle was driven to the dealer on three occasions regarding the swerving in the rear of the vehicle and later due to the brakes. Themechanic informed her that they could not find a defect regarding the swerving in the rear and they would re-align and rotate the tires. He also informed her that the brake pads were worn and the vehicle needed new rotors. The repairs were performed on the vehicle; however, the vehicle continued to swerve back and forth. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified. The vehicle has not been repaired. Supporting documents are available. The failure mileage was 27,000 and the current mileage was 36,255.

I owned a 2007 chrysler 300 the gear stuck in park for the second time. Spoke with other chrysler owners this is a ever day problem . These vehicle should be on recall.
Gear shift will not shift out of park. I believe my vehicle is having the same issue as the k39 recall however because of my build date of 02/07/07, the recall only applies to vehicles built 6/25/07-9/21/07.

The contact owned a 2007 chrysler 300. None of the air bags deployed. There was no warning. The seat belt failed to retract causing the driver to come in contact with the steering wheel. A police report was filed. Some of the get pay a lot money to fix this issue. I think this is flaws that chrysler should recall to fix all the car. Happen around from 50,000 miles. Hope official will getchrysler send letter out to fix all. I won't buy chrysler again.

Help!!!
The switch when you turn it off it still be on it ,i have to make sure the switch turned all the way over
At various times since i bought this car new, this vehicle stalled and/or violentlyshook while at stop light thinking someone must have hit me.when filling up with premium gas, the pump will trip and stop putting gas.i have to hold the pump slightly higher so that it will not trip.i could never use the pump rest for this car so that i don't have to hold the pump the entire time.we even choose gas stations that do not have ethanol mix.on tuesday, 2/7/17, it shook and stalled at different times during the day while at stop light.on the same day, while in motion and making a curve on a narrow 2-way street, i suddenly could not steer the car.i stopped with my emergency flashers, turned off everything, and had to restart the car.we took it for service for same reasons and the dealer could not find any issues.
Heard loud noise when nearing home. Was inside home park. Car seemed okay so continued couple blocks to driveway. Pulled into driveway and saw some smoke coming out of hood. Had my son look under hood to find cooling fans come apart. Visible damage to radiator. Called dealer and they towed car to their facility. Manager called this morning to verify damage, had extended warranty coverage but they would not fully cover cost from chrysler repair department, difference of about $350.00. I feel that this a cost that chrysler should absorb as i feel that it was defect of chrysler components.
Ignition switch
When is nhsta going to look into the extra long limousine conversions being completed on the chrysler 300 and dodge charger cars?chrysler does not offer a limo conversion chassis like lincoln and cadillac.the axles, wheels, tires and brakes are seriously overloaded based on the federal door labels.carb is stopping them based on emissions and fuel label violations at the weights they are attempting to register them at.operators are experiencing premature front end component failures and excessive tire wear.does someone have to die before this industry practice is reviewed?
I was driving about 55 miles per hr and my car engine, steering and braking shut down......however the lights, radio, air was still working. I pulled over to the side tried to start it 3 times, finally let it sit about 5 or 6 min and it started again and drove without any issues the rest of the way to work which was about 4 miles
Stuck in park. Can't shift out of parkfloor shifter locked bypass doesn't work.
The floor shifter has a broken piece there is an existing recall k39 but my vehicle isnt covered
Shift park lock mechanism - cannot shift out of park. It appears that my "shift interlock latch" has malfunctioned (via online research).it also appears that this is an issue that chrysler is aware of, but will not fix under a recall.anyway, as it currently stands i'm trying to get an appointment with the dealer to fix.thank goodness the car was at home when this occurred.
Drove car all morning long, stopped at a family members house for a few hours. Came out to car to leave and car was stuck in park, checked to make sure all brake lights were working incase brake pedal sensor was bad(all lights came on) checks brake fluid (up to level) googled chrysler 300 stuck in park and had an overflow of answers and videos showing me what was wrong and how to atleast get it out of park to get home/to a garage(sunday noone was open). I saw this is a recall on the 300 models from 05-up to 08 i think. I called chrysler recall center to be told that yes my car is in the right year frame but it is uncovered due to it is not a mopar part or because it was manufactured in sep 2006. So i am a bit upset at this because the exact thing that is on a recall happened to my 2007 chrysler 300 but is uncovered.
Transmission is stuck in park. Cannot drive
Car won't come out of park to drive. The lever inside is broke. Dealer says it's not just the lever it's the whole sifter transfer case.
April 23 my battery caught on fire in blow my whole car up fire marshal told me electrical problems
The car will not shift out of park and go into any gear. Stuck in the park position.
Vehicle wouldn't come out of park.went online and found out about the pink thingies.the override one did not work.was able to press the other one in and got it into reverse and it was stuck there.just happened to also manually press the shift cable into place (after 2 hours) and was able to get it into drive. According to the service station, they have this replacement part in stock because it breaks so often.and according to chrysler our vehicle is not under the recall (only "some" are), and they would notate our dissatisfaction (they know and admit that this breaks often, but won't fix it on "all" effected vehicles).thankfully it did this after we came back from the holiday weekend.
On sunday 04/30/2017, i pulled car into gas station and put gas in it. When i went to leave after this transaction, the vehicle would not shift out of"park".the shifter will not release and go into gear. The vehicle is stuck in "park". Diamler chrysler has existing recall (k39) to address this ongoing, widespread defect in their vehicles (dodge/chrysler floor shifter recall). According to tsb/recall documents, the years covered are 2005-2011. However, the dealership service department told me that because my vehicle was manufactured 90 days before the recall period for that make and model, my vehicle is not covered under the recall.
K39 recall:my vehicle cannot shift out of park. It has a broken shift lever interlock spring hook...exactly like recall k39. However, i a confused why my car is not covered under this recall.
Vehicle was stationary at the time made motion to start vehicle placed feet on brake and attempted to put gear in drive and the gear would not move out of park
Car will not come out of park. Most likely shift linkage assembly bad. Car was parked in work parking lot and after shift would not release from park status.
Car runs rough, hesitates and cuts of while at a stop and in park. Electronic throttle light is on
I went to start my car and could not get the shifter out of park, had a mechanic friend of my that works for ford replace a part in the shifter.....i have read this happens a lot on these vehicles

I purchased a chrysler 300 on 11/19/09. I had an accident on 12/10/09. I have learned since the accident, there was a recall on this model concerning the antilock brake system.since we purchased used, i don't know if this was ever corrected on our vehicle. The abs lights stays on and mechanics says it is not dangerous, just the cruise want work.we have carried this car back to dealership several times and spent over $2,000. On repairs and now they tell us it can't be fixed and we are afraid to drive the car even though they say it is o.k. To drive.especially since i found there was a recall on this vehicle and i had a wreck.i ran into the back of a cotton wagon.i applied brakes but did not stop, just slide.

Started car pulled away from parking spot andcar stalled.also happen s after stopped at a light and making a turn and again car stalls while in traffic.

While driving at the posted speed limit of 70 mph the sun roof (which was closed at the time) suddenly ripped completely off of the car and went airborne. We were not able to recover it, and thankfully as far as we know no one behind us was injured. This easily could have killed someone in another car.

The corrosion on the cars' alloy wheels is such that it is necessary to always carry a manual tire pump since the corrosion allows air to escape from the tire. I have checked with the local chrysler dealership and was told that this was common with alloy wheels which are now used to effect a weight savings. Additionally, the lug nuts have a metal (stainless steel)pressed over the steel lug nut to present a more pleasing appearance. Unfortunately, water and road salt migrate between the two metals and corrosion causes the pressed-on metal to expand to such an extent that a tire shop had to hammer an oversize socket on the lug nut to be able to remove the wheel from the car. This means that a motorist whoexperienced enough of a air loss would be unable to change the tire with the manufacturers-provided tool.
All of the chrome covered wheel lugs on my 2007 chrysler 300 have been mushroomed by the impact wrench while the tires were being rotated; my lug wrench no longer fits any wheel lugs. I can not change the tires if i get a flat tire. All the tire rotations are under the chrysler service contract.

The lugs have swollen on my vehicle and i can not get my tire rotation until i have 20 more lugs because the ones on the tire are swollen and can not be replaced one taken off.i contacted south oak dodge and they said this happen and the cost would be on me for replacement.this is dangerous because until i can get the money if i have a tire problem i will be in bad shape.i've never had a car with this type of issue.at this point i will never get another chrysler and as soon as i get it fixed i plan on getting rid of the vehicle.
