Takata recall. Passenger air bag still not fixed.
The contact owned a 2006 chrysler 300. While driving 35 mph, the contact's vehicle was struck head on by another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. Both vehicles were destroyed, the contact was injured on the right shoulder and left arm. A police report was not filed and medical attention was required. Subsequently, the contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags). The contact called the dealer, but they provided no information regarding available recourse for injuries received or part availability. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 136,997.
I have been getting takata inflator recalls for a year now, the dealer in my area - fuccello's dodge, amsterdam, ny, (518)843-4206, keeps telling me the part is not available.
Driving west on rt 20 in granby ct, passing through intersection on a green light, was struck head-on by another vehicle, both cars were totaled & towed away.on the other drivers' car, all of the air bags deployed, there were no injuries, while on our chrysler 300, none of the air bags deployed, causing injury to left elbow & right shoulder. Lack of air bags deployment may have been a good thing since we subsequently received a recall notice for the drivers' air bag inflator/detonator defects causing severe injuries & deaths.
There is a recall on the takata airbags that was installed on my 2006 chrysler 300c and i have contacted my local chrysler dealers but they have claimed that the airbags are still on backorder.i want to know when my vehicle will be fixed.
2006 chrysler 300.consumer writes in regards to parts not available to complete airbag inflator and fuel tank malfunction recall notices.
Car stalled driving on highway, this is at least the 3rd time this has happened.
Brakes failed at a low rate of speed under 10 mph.brake malfunction light illuminated and brake pedal became hard. Brakes subsequently failed, causing vehicle to not slow down, causing a crash.they're are recalls for this perticular vehicle year make and model in regards to all of the criteria that meets the recall and the reason for complaint.brakes are intermittently failing, brake malfunction blinking on and off.car unsafe to drive.voice activation alerted driver to brake failure seconds before brakes failed just seconds prior to impact due to not being able to stop.
My car stalled on a stop light twice last november 2014 and january 25, 2015 after i fill up my car. I turned off the car and then turned on the car again and it drove. For now it is working but i'm afraid it will stalled again while on the road.
Cars stalls while driving...no codes are on...etc light on when stalls and the car restarts without a problem. Almost in many accidents while driving with the kids. Chrysler has known about this problem and has done nothing about this particular type of model. Tipm is defectedd and there's a class action lawsuit against them.
Radiator fan went out,i replaced at my own expense,as of 2/25/2012 was notified by chrysler to bring to dealer to have replaced ? in process now of being reimbursed, having trouble with power window controller on driver door, now the auto return for the seat and steering wheel does not work,u no what chrysler just fix the problem or pay the bill, you're owned by the same people that own our company which is fiat! now i'm having problems with driver side front ball joints squeaking, shouldn't happen at 50,000 mi.
The contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. The contact stated the instrumental panel and headlights flashed on and off at the same time. The headlights flashed while they were on or off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who examined the vehicle but was unable to locate the electrical failure. The vehicle cannot be driven at night.the manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to speak to the nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 133,000 and the current mileage was 134,500.
All the lights on the dash board comes on and the car slows down unable to accelerate. The problem still continues to this day.
Dead spots on steering wheel where horn is located. Have to find certain areas where the horn will work. Very very dangerous in quick situations. Have checked the web and many people have the same problem. Clearly a defect. You can push all you want, unless you get the right spot, nothing will happen.
Both left and right cat pipes have failed. Not the cat itself but the pipe which could lead to exhaust getting into the car.
Very shortly after refueling my car (probably driven less than 1000 feet) the car shuttered and stalled.it restarted immediately but then shut down again within the mile.again, it started immediately and i had no more problems until the next time i filled the tank and it stalled again almost immediately upon exiting the gas station.again, it restarted on the first try and i had no more problems for the rest of the trip or since.however, i have not refueled since; so don't know what will happen when i do.i have taken it to a dealer and it is deemed i need a new gas tank.gas tanks should not wear out and our car is low mileage and in mint condition. This seems like a faulty design problem.it is clearly a safety issue with my car and i suspect with others who own the same model. (i did not "top off" the tank on either occasion.)
I was driving to a traffic light immediately after filling the gas tank when the car suddenly stalled. There was loss of steering control. I put the gear in pack and restarted the car which it did successfully but stalled soon after and again restarted successfully. The car ran perfectly till i refilled the tank four days later and had similar occurrence.it happened about a week later, again after another refill. I took the car to the dealer who inspected it and determined there was nothing wrong. The same incident happened a fourth time on 12/17/2013 and it was very worrisome as i was on the ramp trying to merge into a highway when it stalled but i was able to pull into the shoulder. Today again after refilling it happened while driving from the gas station, again, at low speed but later on the highway, at about 55 miles per hour it stalled, the first time it is stalling at such high speed.
When i fill my gas tank, the car hesitates and stalls for the first 5 to 20 miles on local streets.it happens whether i fill to the automatic shut off or the station "tops off" the tank.after this happened 4 or 5 times, i started to fill the tank to 75% and now it does not happen. It was very scary and unsafe to stall like that.i saw the investigation into the other 2006 chrysler products and my problem is identical. My dealer had no idea what was wrong with the car and they suggested filling it to 75%.

My vehicle stalled while traveling on highway after filling fuel tank. This problem has happened at least 3 times in the past and is very dangerous. Thank god it was a sunday afternoon and traffic was light. I have read on line this is a familiar issue. Why isn't anything being done about this???
For some time now, there is a loud metallic tapping coming from the engine.sounds as if it may be coming from the engine's head on the passenger side of the car.
The contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300 awd. While at a stop, the vehicle did not accelerate. The check engine and thunder bolt indicators illuminated. The vehicle was turned off, restarted, and operated normally. The vehicle lost acceleration again. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The contact also stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a fuel pump failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 126,000.
My car shuts off when i fill the tank. It shuts of when in motion.
Car stalls right after a gas fill up.
When i come to a fulll stop , car will die. Always starts up again tho. It is scary.happens at least once a week.
For the 5th time in 12 months, my 2006 chrysler 300c stalled after filling up at a gas station, nearly causing an accident.i previously brought it to a mechanic who did a tune up, new spark plugs, and even replaced valve lifters to try to resolve this issue, to no avail.i finally did a google search and see that many other people have this problem.it is ridiculous to me that this has not been a recall, as it is very dangerous to stall when pulling out into traffic after filling up the tank with gas.
Engine died no check engine no warning. Started back up after a few minutes.
I have read multiple posts that fit exactly the same description to what happened recently with our 2006 chrysler 300c 5.7l hemi awd - so i thought i would share our experience.we have always taken very good care of our 300, regular services etc and have kept every single documentation since purchased. Recently, my wife was driving at 70-75 mph on i-95 - engine completely conked out and started steaming. Towed it to the mechanic. Originally the mechanic said it was just a crack/leak in the radiator, which would cost $750. They went ahead and fixed this problem. However, 2 hours later we get a call saying there was a severe crack in the engine that has caused a major leak internally. Now at the mercy of the mechanic, as we owe them $750 for their misdiagnosis.new diagnosis - need a complete engine replacement that would cost approx $8000-$8500. Absolutely pointless when you take into consideration kbb value is between $9,000-$10,000. After doing my research it seems a new 300 engine would be between $4,000-$5,500 and labor is approx $1,800-$2,500. So i guess it isn't a bad deal for mechanics who can possibly fix it themselves. However, as usual the loyal customers always seem to get screwed by chrysler. Worst part about it is 4 months ago we purchased a new 300. Maybe this was one of the reasons they revamped the entire engine of the newer chrysler 300 model range???
After refilling the gas tank of my 2006 300c chrysler, it stumbles as though it is no longer getting enough fuel. There is a definite and serious loss of power, with concern for our safety as we exit the gas station and reenter traffic. There is a sense that the engine is struggling and would stall. The loss of power repeats several more times as we drive further from the gas station. This problem has presented itself almost every time we refuel and is cause for real concern for our safety. Based on advice from other 300c owners, we plan to no longer fill the tank, but stop at about the 3/4 mark. This does not seem to be a very effective solution to a genuine safety issue.
Car stalled driving on highway, this is at least the 3rd time this has happened.
This is not a complaint, but info for other chrysler owners with the fuel fill/stalling problem. We just received a letter from chrysler, telling us they have issued a lifetime warranty on the components causing this problem. We made an appointment and had our 2006 300 fixed in 2 days! the fuel tank and internal valves were replaced after removing the exhaust and driveline. The job took 5-6 hours and we were not charged a cent! the car is again running very well without stalling. Thank you, chrysler!

I already have filed a complaint about this matter. I found that chrysler has agreed to replace fuel tanks as a recall on his vehicle on feb.10,2014 , pe13016. Recall letters to be sent out starting jan. 2014. I have not received a letter. I called chrysler (1-800-247-9753) they are not aware of this recall. I questioned this and the operator (employer #[xxx] had no answer. I have a case # with them #[xxx]. And although the nhtsa thinks this is not a safety problem i beg to differ. This car has stalled after refueling at speeds up to 55 mph or faster. This is a $1500 or more repair i was told & would like to have chrysler take care of this. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I am having issues with the car stalling out or bogging down shortly after refueling and many times happening within less than a mile of refueling.i have brought the car into the local dealership who can not replicate the problems (and am now being stuck paying a $95 diagnostic fee), and calling chrysler directly who is unwill to try to assist.if this is a know issue (nhtsa action number pe13016), i don't understand why this isn't being addressed and corrected immediately.

After fueling my car, i have problems with my car stalling until i run some fuel out of my car. Now after i still have more then 3/4 tank of gas, my car will act fuel starved going down the freeway to an almost stall then come back on by itself.i am the original owner of this car and never heard from the dealer of a gas tank, charcoal filter recall and now it is canceled???
After filling gas tank ( full) the car stalls for the first couple of miles. Then stop shortly after. This is happening more and more. There was a recall for the 2005-2006 models with the 5.7 and 6.1 liter engines, but not for the 3.5 liter that i own even though i have found through the chrysler forums this is a problem for many of these model ( 2005-20006) chrysler gave a life time warranty to the 5.7 and 6.1 liter models , but not mine. Even though this is the same dangerous problem as those vehicles.

After filling the gas the car will sputter and stall.i always use 91-93 octane fuel from the kroger fuel stations, and when leaving the last few times i've had problems getting up to speed without the car getting to speed or stalling.it will restart normally pretty easily other than yesterday when my wife was driving it, it kept stalling coming home, she parked it, and the next morning it refused to start.it took a while but after starting and running it a bit, it's running fine.vehicle was recently in for checkup at 78900 miles (80k checkup) and has just over 80k on it now.i'm an adult disabled driver, it gets driven just not far at any given time.
The car it shut off after every gas filling immediately after getting into traffic its very scary and very dangerous situation

I can no longer fill my gas tank to the "full" level , if i do,my car randomly stalls out while driving or making any kind of turn, with out any warning or notification in the dash board . Also if i top off my gas tank the inside of my smells strongly of fuel , as it is leaking inside some how .
I am the original owner of this vehicle and have all routine maintenance done at the dealer. On 2/28/2015i had just left the grocery store and was pulling of the parking lot into traffic, car started to hesitate and then completely cut off. After several attempts it finally restarted. Then on2/25/2015 after refueling as i was setting in traffic the car stalled and cut off again. This morning while taking kids to school the car began to shakeand slow downthen cut off.what is this all about?

Every time you fill the gas tank the car will stall.

Vehicle will not shift out of oark. Dealer recognized the k39 part was recalled and in my vehicle but there's no recall for my vin.

Just purchased used chrysler 300 touring awd sedan with 56,414 miles on it and by the time i got it home (an hour drive away i noticed binding in the front wheels when i turned into my driveway and again when i was leaving my driveway to enter the road. I took it back to the dealership (ren kirby chevrolet, buick, gmc) but the drive train is not covered under my limited 3 month 3,000 mile warranty. The dealership found that the planetary gears in transfer case are binding in front wheel portion of awd drive-train, if allowed to continue without service this could cause loss of control of vehicle and/or front axle separation resulting in loss of one or both front wheels. Estimated cost of repairs in excess of $1000.00 and that is only if it is just the gear issue! this item should be recalled asap as i am finding out on several various auto blogs that this is a common safety issue!
Symptom/condition: vehicle may experience shudder on slow, parking lot type turns. The friction disc in the transfer case can become clogged with iron particles and may create a stick-slip condition with the pressure plate inside the transfer case. Chrysler was aware of this defect september 15, 2005 but shipped the cars anyway...
2006 chrysler 300 has had shifter assembly replaced 3 times in less than 5 years. The gear shift will not move out of park. This is the second time this has occurred in the last 2 years. From my own research and conversations with the dealer's mechanics, this is a constant issue with 300s. A small spring and plastic arm break frequently. This is a problem which chrysler knows about yet continues to manufacture 300s with these malfunctioning/defective parts included.
About 2 months ago, my husband noticed that transmission fluid was leaking profusely from our 2006 chrysler 300 touring automobile.the car was only 1-1/2 years old.since it was still under warranty, we brought it to passport chrysler of alexander and were told by the service dept. Manager that the problem was from a defective cap that was replaced.he said the problem was happening with all of their chrsyler 300's and when i asked them if they had sent out notices to chrysler owners to inform them of the problem, he said that they had not.he told me that "osha was aware of the problem" and didn't think it was significant enough to address.when i called osha, they said they didn't even deal with automobiles.although they replaced the part in my car, i'm concerned for others who may not notice the problem until it causes permanent damage to the car's transmission.something should be done about this.

The contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300 awd.whenever the contact attempted to stop the vehicle at 25-30 mph, the vehicle would pull slightly towards the driver's side.she felt a vibration in the steering wheel.the contact did not notice any differences in the vehicle prior to the failure.the dealer stated that the driver's side tie rod needed to be replaced.the vehicle is currently waiting to be serviced by the dealer.the current mileage was 10,500 and failure mileage was 6,000.

When by gas level gets to 1/4 tank or below and i refuel, the car stalls for a while and sometimes shuts off while i'm driving. This also happens anytime i fill up.
Shifter will not come out of park unless you pull console apart and physically push the spring under the front of the shifter with screwdriver.they have a recall on if not this part a very similar part between the years 2005-2007 which this clearly falls into but is vin specific and they claim doesn't pertain to my vehicle.funny it is bypassed identically to the people who the recall does cover.clearly a known flaw by the amount of people complaining about it but they won't do anything. Car is stationary when this occurs.
The car is stuck in park, had it towed to the dealership. They said this happens all the time and it's very common. They said it is the shift interlock switch, somehow not covered on the recall. $90 to tow and they say it will be several hundred to fix the tiny plastic part. Very unsafe.
My car has begun to stall at various times and unannounced. This has happened while pulling into oncoming traffic, onto highway from on ramp. My engine light goes on. I am able to start the engine again drive for some time then unannounced it happens again. This is very dangerous situation and one that when i research there seems to be a lot of similar problems and no fix other then a suggested replacement of fuel tank at $2000.this seems to be prevalent with this car and needs to be addressed before a serious accident or death.
