2008 chevrolet uplander.consumer writes in regards to airbag problems.the consumer stated he was involved in two accidents within three years, and each time, the air bag did not deploy. The first accident, left the consumer with a shoulder injury, that required surgery.

The contact owned a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While driving 60 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ravine. The contact stated that the driver side air bag did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the left eye, a blow out fracture around the eye, cranial fracture, and bruising that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The vin was not available.

Customer got into driver's seat to clean the dash and before touching anything, the airbag deployed. Vehicle was not moving and keys were not in ignition. Customer taken to emergency department for evaluation; minor injury.

The abs light is on in my van, i have been told that the airbag could deploy at any time or that in the event of a crash that it won't deploy at all.i purchased this vehicle used but this problem started in 2009.the light will go off occasionally, but only for a few miles.this should be fixed by chevrolet, however the dealer has stated that it is and was not covered under warrenty.

Due to a minor accident with a deer, we need to replace the airbags in this only 12-year old vehicle, with only 135,xxx miles on it. A chevy dealer reports that these airbags are 'discontinued and no longer available'. This car should easily be usable for another 135,xxx+ miles. Over half of the useful life of this vehicle will be lost if we cannot replace the airbags. Vehicle was traveling approx 60 mph on an interstate highway, (slowing down because of the deer approaching).unsafe condition is only the unavailability of new, replacement airbags. Rest of minor body damage is easily repairable. This 'extended body 7-passenger' vehicle is built on a full 'truck' frame, which was not damaged. Only loss besides the airbags is one headlight assembly and minimal sheet metal damage.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. After the contact activated the cruise control at 15 mph, the vehicle accelerated abruptly. The contact's foot was not depressing the accelerator pedal at the time of the failure. As a result, the contact crashed into a pole. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The failure occurred on two separate occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Tamara recall we were in an accident, we hit a 190ib deer at 70mph and the air bags did not deploy. Was driving on interstate 49 south.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While drivingapproximately 45 mph, the contact swerved off the roadway toavoid striking an animal and crashed into a tree. The air bag andservice stability system warning light indicators illuminated on the instrument panel intermittently after the crash. The air bags failed to deploy with the level of impact during the crash. The contact suffered injury to the neck area. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The total repair cost for the body damages was $6,268. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The contact stated there were electrical problems with the vehicle. The cause of failure had not been determined at this time. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The alternator was replaced; however, after the vehicle was started, the recharge system failure light came back on and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not inspected. The failure mileage and current mileage was 27,000.

I have a 2008 chevrolet uplander ls minivan.when driving in wet weather when i have to drive through standing water, such as in an intersection, i loose all power.especially the power steering.i also get a "charging system failure" alert on my dashboard.in a few moments the power will return.this happens every time i drive through any standing water.i have taken the vehicle into the chevrolet dealer and have been told that they cannot find anything wrong, defective or out of place.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that the driver's side sliding door opened independently and without warning.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the door actuator however, the failure continued to occur on the passenger side.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. On feb 18, 2013 my door came off on my uplander, along with numerous electrical error messages at the same time. I had my vehicle in the shop for over 3 weeks until i finally was able to pick up. I also had the engine stability and the air pressure monitor and air bag, and traction control repaired costing a total of $2,336.00 dollars of repairs completed. After reading other complaints on this vehicle, i am trying to trade in my vehicle where i purchased it, but i owe more then what it was appraised for. I have asked the dealer for a trade, but they are not working with me. I am afraid for the safety of my family, and other vehicles on the road when operating this vehicle. Please, do not take this complaint lightly, and assist me in making gmc replace my vehicle as soon as possible.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that the onstar emergency system activated and directed him to contact onstar to subscribe to the services every 30 seconds. We have a 2008 chevy uplander van (bought new) that between aug. 2010 and march of this year had to be jump started 9 times because the battery was totally dead. When calling a towing service truck the van started up immediately and i was able to drive it to a service station. It has now been looked at by 3 different chevrolet dealers & 2 independent garages. After through analysis, neither have been able to figure out the root cause of the problem. Three times i was told the van needed a new battery, but after a few months the vehicle would again not start. The gm customer service (1-800-222-1020) would not help me and referred me to have the chevy dealership resolve this problem.i recommend that gm recall this vehicle and fix it after figuring out what the cause of the problem is.

Alternator went out ,rear passenger door fell off the top hinge hit the payment, brakes started falling again.

In the last couple weeks i've noticed that my door locks are not unlocking when pressing the all door lock release button. I went to the store on saturday, november 16, 2013 and was locked inside the car for 45 minutes. There is only one key entry on the entire car, driver door. (my remote has not worked since i bought the car used in march 2012.)i had to flag a person down in the parking lot and have them use the key to open the door. Because this is a fire/safety hazard, and i have 3 small children, i am afraid to drive the vehicle anywhere.

Anti brake lights, stability and traction control lights and tire pressure lights continually appear.have replaced rotors twice, complete brake assembly twice, and front wheel bearings once.no one seems to know exactly what the problem is.diagnoses run from wiring harness to anti lock brake system.

Dash indicator shows side sliding door is open, when it is not. Bells ding, inside lights come on, doors become inoperative from inside vehicle. Has occurred approximately 50 times. We have had in shop somewhere between 10 and 15 times, both door modules have been replaced, and body control module now being replaced. Chevrolet states that it doesn't set a trouble code, so they have no record of the occurrences, though service department manager has seen this happen in person.my concern is when this happens, my wife, myself and or children cannot get out of the vehicle, and i feel this is unsafe. Chevrolet does not agree that this is unsafe. I really want to move on to another vehicle, but chevrolet will not assist. The vehicle is paid for, free and clear, so this is not an issue of owing money and wanting out. Chevrolet should make the vehicle safe, and is not doing anything to ensure this. They have been handling this under warranty, but this last time vehicle is in shop for two weeks - no loaner, no alternative transportation for us.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled after the battery warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the starter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred while still at the mechanic. The mechanic replaced the battery and the vehicle restarted; however, the failure recurred. The mechanic replaced the alternator and the failure recurred. The failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

Third brake light lens broken at attaching points.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While driving approximately 70 mph, the instrument panel lights flickered and the vehicle suddenly shut off. The power steering and brakes stopped functioning. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 63,000.

The rear driver door will not close.it has been to the dealer three times.the first time they were unable to diagnose.the second time we were charged $80 to clean the contacts.the third time they have recommended replacement of the motor due to an internal timing failure at a cost of over $1000.this door has been used very little since we have owned the van and it poses a potential safety hazard since it closes, the alarm sounds and then the door reopens on its own.the dealer reported that this is a common failure and that there is no way to adjust the timing on the motor without replacement.

Safety issue:the first occurrence date is an estimate, as i do not remember, but the problem has occurred again this night: for no reason at all the alarm began going off (of course in the middle of the night). I was awake. I live in a pretty safe park. At approximately 1230a the alarm went off. I ran out to check and there was no one and nothing around that could have tripped it, especially since i didn't set it. The van was unlocked, the key out of the ignition and hanging by the lanyard. I grabbed the fob and shut if off. 20 minutes later, it did it again, then again, then again,t hen again, each time about 20 minutes apart. I was starting to panic because i didn't want to anger the neighbors and end up evicted. My spouse and i had to pull the horn fuse to silence the car. The lights went off about 20 minutes later, then the problem went away...i thought. I contacted gm about this and an issue with the locking system (doors will not unlock with either the fob or the inside switch). They apologized and offered to authorize repairs, but informed me that the cost of the repairs was my problem. It is possible that the two issues are linked. The lock problem came first. But because i cannot afford the cost of repairs (i am low income), i have to drive without the use of my horn, which is a no-no and a safety problem.tonight, the lights started flashing on their own. They flashed twice, then stopped for almost a minute, then did it again a few times more, then it stopped altogether. Later, it did it again...and again...the lock issue is a health hazard for me because i have a plethora of illnesses that cause me disability. I must pull heavy objects over the rumble seat to the single seat in front of it, get out of the car (painful to my knees and lower back), then get the item out. When i am finished, i am literally finished.i am caused phys. & mental pain.

Purchase 2008 chevy uplander from [xxx], roseville, casince then ihave replaced the battery 3 x's.17 months later after the purchase charging system failure pops up.put in the new battery 8/15 it won't hold charge.the alternator has gone they said. There are over hundreds of complaint about the alternators in the chevy uplander and chevy hasn't done recall to fix.my van has been in the shop for over week and the specialist at gm (dave 1-866-790-5600 x1317) said he would get a resolution.i haven't heard from the specialist since 8/19.http://www.greenflagauto.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1885, http://chevroletforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21063, http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2008/chevrolet/uplander/electrical+system, http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2008/chevrolet/uplander, http://www.fixya.com/cars/t2589497-getting_charging_system_failure, http://www.chevroletforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21063, http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1wl3t-i-have-a-2005-chevy-uplander-my-headlights-were-flickering, http://www.justanswer.com/questions/3wozj-alternator-not-charging-battery-how-can-i-check-the-alternator, http://www.fixya.com/cars/t4092277-december_2_batteries "by decoblue21 on feb 09, 2010 since dec we have had 2 batteries and an alternator replaced in our 2008 uplander. The battery is constantly loosing amps. And the car has failed to start on a number of occasions. We charge it but eventually the battery just doesn't hold the charge. File complaint with nhtsa odi 1-888-327-4236; tty: 1-800-424-9163file complaint with the ftc 1-877-382-4357 ; tty: 1-866-653-4261. Chevy uplanders have a major problem that chevrolet doesn't want to do a recall.the reason they don't want to do the recall because the engines in these vanshas to be dropped in order to get to the alternator out and put in a new one.charging system failure comes up in all the chevy uplanders.i spoke to the district office and spoke to the executive office.the gentlemen in the executive office stated, "there is nothing that chevrolet is going to do in regards to these uplanders.there is no recall."when i asked him, "are you going to do a recall", he refused to answer the question the 3 times i asked him.purchasing these uplanders by the consumer is a rip off, and it's not fair that a product like this is sold to the public, and chevrolet knows that there are severe problems with theses uplanders, and there are no manuals on how to fix them, and the consumer has to pay the penalty.fixing these uplanders are extremely expensive, and even if you replace the alternator you don't know, ifthat is going to solve the problem. Check the internet by putting in charging system failure chevy uplanders.it will shock you.i urge everyone to file a complaint with the odi and especially with the ftc.the more people file complaints with the odi and especially with the ftc a class a litigation can come about and we can make chevrolet recall these vehicles and to pay back everyone who paid to havethis problem fixed in their uplanders. File those complaints now with odi and the ftc now-don't wait.the consumer stated the battery had to be replaced three times, because it would not hold a charge. The battery was constantly loosing amps and the vehicle failed to start on one occasion. The alternator was also replaced. Updated ivoq 09/01/10.

While sitting in my drive way the engine made a popping sound and than the "charging system failure" came across the dash.after this approximately 3 days later the same thing happened while at a stop sign and after this the electrical system crashed and discharged the battery.

The rear sliding doors open while driving, do not shut all the time and the alarm telling you the door is open goes off all the time when the doors are closed.

Vehicle wont start at times: after driving for an hour or so and making several stops such as shopping starter will not engage opening the hood to allow motor to cool down seems to help. Trying to start vehicle takes up to 15 to 25 tries. All battery connections seem to be secure. Starter was replaced thinking that was the problem, but the problem continues. Other issues power steering leaking from under carriage. Problems started shortly after i bought the vehicle february 2019.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander.the contact stated that the door open warning indicator remains illuminated.it fails to dim and hides other information on the instrument panel.the dealer stated that this was normal and she could call the gm manufacturer.the contact called gm and they stated that it was a design flaw that they are aware of; however, there was no remedy.the current mileage iss 23,100.updated 03/04/09.*ljthe door open warning system did not operate properly/ when the vehicle was starte with the door opened, the message remained illuminated even when the doorwas closed. The only way to clear the message was to turn the vehicle off and restart it. The parking brake message also illuminated. Updated 03/04/09.

Drove the van home that same night, before we pulled in the drive way , the van over heated ,the brakes had a spongy feel to them after 15 mins of driving , temperature gauge never went pass the half way make when the red indicator came onthe van totally shut down no power , i almost flip the van over. I have replace the brake twice in 3 weeks of each other.then light on the dash came on when temperature were cold , rainy, foggy, out side , and when it got hot temperature out side the dash light at night time started to flicker on and off ,then about 30 seconds later the dash lights stayed off and never came back on. Also the van started to have engine not wanted to turn over, and would also loss all power to vehicle leaving us stranded out in horrible weather conditions outside with are children.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that while driving 28 mph, she applied the brakes and the sliding passenger door detached from the vehicle, falling onto the highway. The dealer was notified, but suggested that there would be a cost to repair the vehicle and the contact felt that it was a manufacturer?s defect. The manufacturer was contacted, but offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileages were 70,000.the consumer's insurance company stated it was a manufacturers defect and they would not cover the damage. The consumer stated the vehicle has a severe short, which prevented the door from locking, the lights went off on the dash, and a dinging sound, but nothing happened. It was suppose to make a sound when the door opened, but there was no sound.every 10-11 months the brakes and rotors had to be replaced and the alternator failed. Updated 07/09/12

2008 chevrolet uplander.consumer writes in regards to cracked rotors, wiring harness and wheel sensor replacements issues. The consumer stated the service stability light illuminated repeatedly.

On 08/04/14 i took my 2008 chevy uplander to local chevrolet dealer ([xxx]) due to abs and traction control were appear on the screen. The tech diagnosed that 2 problems were found faulty left front hub/bearing assembly and wiring harness. The tech replaced and fixed the issues. And this year on 03/05/15 i have the same lights appear on my screen again (abs & traction control) and i did the same thing took to chevrolet dealer ([xxx]) the tech diagnose the same issues occur again. I refuse too have them fix and would like gm start recall all 2008 chevy uplander due to hub/bearing assembly and wiring harness problems since the cost of fixing these issues are between $650 - $700. Is pretty expensive for person that live on paycheck by paycheck each week.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have had my abs traction control lights come on several times. The first time i had both front wheel hubs replaced. Only hat about 40,000 miles. About 18 months later i had to have the left replaced again. About 3 months after that i had the right replaced again. About a year later had to have the left replaced again. Now i have 102,000 miles and the lights are coming on again. Chevy should do a recall this is crap that they have been replaced so many time and it is only 7 yrs. Old. It is coming on the most now when in reverse and turning, or turning sharp going forward.

I have had nothing but problems with this car. I have had brake issues the front sensor wires got snagged and shut down while driving. It had turned on and off a few times once as i slammed on the brakes, i almost rear ended the car in front of me. The fuel system has needed a new wire harness that had burnt up at 108,000 miles, the tuning port needed to be replaced around the same time as well as an evap canister. Now at 140,000 miles the transmission went out. They have blocked me from reporting on facebook how the cars are awful but i am now writing everyone i can about the autos they pass of as american car.

Anti brake lights, stability and traction control lights and tire pressure lights continually appear.have replaced rotors twice, complete brake assembly twice, and front wheel bearings once.no one seems to know exactly what the problem is.diagnoses run from wiring harness to anti lock brake system.

Brakes intermittently apply themselves without warning. Happened previous to this incident several times at lower speeds. I'm not sure if brake lights activate when this happens making this a highly dangerous situation. Dealer had vehicle three weeks, charged for labor and parts, then stated that they thought they had the problem fixed but couldn't get the automatic traction control light to go out or the dic to not display service stability system. Vehicle was okay for about four weeks then brakes started activating at low speed again. Contacted gm, they refuse to help because vehicle has "branded" title. Suggested i take it back to same dealer and pay them to diagnose a problem they can't fix.

This vehicle is suffering an intermittent driver information center notification... Stating,.... Check abs brake system, check traction control system, check stability control system.... All the corresponding system dash lights are then on.i also believe i have smelled an odor in my car ... A faint smell of something burnt...

I was driving down the highway and the brakes activated for no reason as i was going at 60 mph.this has happened before while driving much slower while going around curves but never on the highway. I was lucky there was not on coming traffic because the vehicle veered to the side as the brakes engaged. I drove to my destination slowly on the side of the road and it happened a second time. At this point i called and had the vehicle towed as i did not want to go any further in it.i spoke to a rep at chevy who said that it is the 'stability control system' and to 'keep a log' as to when it occurs and what type of ground i am traveling on at the time of these incidents. Doesn't anyone see the danger in this happening on a highway ???the van has been in to the shop several times to address this problem, but all they do is change a couple of sensors and the problem is not fixed.i have a friend who owns an uplander and he is having the exact problem with it.i have read online that this is happening to others and that chevy is not doing anything about it.i have also read that disabling the traction control system does not work to alleviate this problem.i am afraid to drive it. This van is owned by the a health departmentin ny in which i am an employee.the van has also been to our mechanics here , and they always send it out to the dealer for the repairs, and no one can fix it. Why isn't this a recall? i transport children in this vehicle.this is a very dangerous problem.

Rental vehicle."service stability system" warning came on.didn't think too much of it.we were about 2 hours away from closest rental facility so we continued to drive - not going too fast. Van has less than 4,000 miles on it.all of a sudden... Just driving down the road not touching the brakes at all.... Going about 30mph.... The brakes came on. We weren't sure if it was brakes on all 4 wheels or just certain ones.we screeched - not us, the tires, then it released and the warning came back on. The warning did go away everytime we turned the car off. At that point, we continued to drive, but kept it under 25mph the rest of the way back.they are sending out a replacement vehicle to us, and towing this one back.thank you!

Clicking, squeaky, clunky noises in rear suspension. There is a jerk at 20mph, as you drive it keeps jerking as you pick up speed. Stability control system light keeps coming on even after i changed the wheel bearing.

While driving down the road, brakes locked up on vehicle.problem has repeated itself several times since. When this happens, vehicle pulls to the left.we are no longer driving vehicle due to safety concern.

This isn't the first time the stability control has made driving actually dangerous. The first time it locked up and we skid to a halt thankfully going 25 miles an hour. And it was just out of warranty at that time. This time, we just had the full hub assembly replaced and while driving at a higher speed the stability control locked up again, not quite as hard but hard enough, and it pulled sharply to one side. Both times, thankfully years apart, we were going straight and didn't hit anyone because of it as no one was around. This thing is going to kill someone. And why with all the complaints about it has it not been recalled. I'm afraid to drive it and i'm not ready to buy another car. By the way, i don't know why it was even installed. It doesn't actually work. We used to live in northern utah and we lived at the last street up the mountain. When the road was very icy we'd have to turn the stability control off in order to get home. It actually made driving in the snow/ice harder and more dangerous. We have yet to take the uplander in to be fixed yet again as we have had too many repairs on vehicles lately and just don't want to spend more. So, no diagnosis has been made as of today.

We have been having an issue intermittently where the "service stability system" message flashes on the message panel. When this happens our brakes lock up at the same time. This is an extremely scary situation when driving on the interstate or in heavy traffic. We have taken this vehicle in to the dealer to have this checked and they were not able to replicate the issue, therefore we were advised nothing was wrong. I feel that this is a huge safety issue with the number of complaints that have been filed on this issue alone, and i think this warrants a recall on this vehicle because the brakes locking up at inopportune and unexpected times will surely cost lives at some point. We are in a position where we still have a loan on this vehicle for 3 more years and cannot enjoy it for fear of driving the vehicle and this awful thing happening, and we cannot get it fixed because the dealer can't find the problem.

It happened to us on an incoming ramp for an interstate and we had cars slamming on brakes and trying to get past us. It's a very serious issue.

Vehicle leaned to left when driven at 40 mph or above. Contacted gm hotline and advised to take to dealer for diagnostic. Took vehicle to local dealer on 9/8/2014 (wilson, nc) and was advised that right rear wheel assembly needed replacing. In addition, it was suggested that rear shocks and brake pads be replaced. Total costs were $1035.09. I picked up vehicle on 9/11/2014 and noticed that leaning had diminished but still persisted when road slopes or curves towards the left. Have taken vehicle back to dealer three times and they insist that this is normal although i have never experienced this in the six years that i have owned this van. On most recent visit, service manager took van into shop for about 15 minutes and the problem has worsened with van feeling like a jalopy ride on uneven surfaces. The steering wheel now vibrates and makes a weird grinding noise if turned to more than half way in either direction. I now pray each time i must drive the vehicle because i am not sure that it will not tip over. Neither the dealer nor gm have been able to correct the problem and have made me to feel as though i am overreacting to the situation. I hope this report will help to address this matter for myself and other uplander owners. Any suggestions you may have are welcomed.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The first thing that i noticed was the warning system posted "stability system error".while driving on the highway, with my foot on the accelerator, the brake depressed with some agitation of catching or jerkiness.this has occurred multiple times with no real pattern of consistency.

Driving out of a parking lot with a down hill slop and at an angle.the left front wheel made contact with the road first and then the right. As the back wheels made contact with theroad the stabilizer control came on and as i started to accelerate either the trans or the brakes locked up throwing every oneforward into their seat beltsthe only way to disengage what ever was locked up was to turn the ignition key off and restart the car the identicalproblem happened in may of 2008.

Right back passenger door wouldn't close properly 3 days after purchase; took it in for adjustment.2 years later, during which my baby was sitting next to that door, the latch failed and the door was inoperable. Latch was supposedly fixed.fuel/oxygen injector failure 3 times; waiting on a part.taken in for squealing brakes 3 times; was told the brake pads were on recall.2 years later, i'm still waiting on the brake pads.anti-lock brake trouble twice, stability control system failure twice, sensor malfunctions on a regular basis, check engine light on a regular basis; each time it is taken to mechanic.i've been told to ignore the problems if the warning goes off the next time i start the car, and to only bring it in if the warnings go on and off a few times.a few times the mechanic has said they can't find anything wrong with it, but the warning lights keep coming back on.

On 05/31/2016 called chevrolet to ask why stability control light went on when going over a bump in road. 06-02-2016 called local dealership about stability light problem, was told that is was a loose connection most likely. After looking online, we ignored the light. On august 28, 2017 we brought the uplander into another dealership for an estimate on the fuel service. That evening when we went to pick the van up, the service tech said that the transmission was "gone". He gave an estimate on a new transmission. We had been driving the van without problems but for losing power going up hills, that's why we wanted the fuel service, previously that was the problem. We have serviced this vehicle all the time from when we purchased in december of 2008. When we picked the van up we didn't make it more than 4 blocks when it stopped moving. Now the transmission mechanic says the transmission has overheated and needs a complete rebuild for $2,600.00. Online the chevy forum says that the module goes and the transmission overheats destroying the transmission, but also states a light comes on. This light has not come on if its not the stability control light.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander.while driving 30 mph, the vehicle made a loud noise, vibrated, and shook.in addition, the brakes hesitated to stop the vehicle and the stability control traction indicator illuminated.she took the vehicle to the dealer six times and the diagnostic located the failure code at the stability control.the dealer was unable to correct the failure.a report was filed with the manufacturer.the manufacturer sent a technician to inspect the vehicle, but he was unable to correct the failure.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 4,000 and current mileage was 12,000.

I have noticed right around the time i got this van that just it just started making this clunking sound coming from the rear end and making a noise that i couldn't figure out. The drop down modular has been really bogging down around 50mph and makes me give it more gas to stop the kick back. The engine light came on after buying a set of 4 new tires for the van. I bought what the van recalled and the check engine light came on and wont go off. I have had it checked out and still wont shut off. I have kept the oil changed at required times. I noticed the fuel system also has been giving the van a harsh mpg issues and not sure why. I think it might be the drop down modular that is causing this problem. I now been having since 2011 the clunking sound coming from the rear end axel area and then after reading about the recall today really made me scared to drive this van because i'm disabled and in a wheelchair. I have the lowered floor option and i know its going to need this recall fixed and welded. Please send me a email on how i can get this van fixed. I wanted to also tell you that this van was sold to me at $32,850 and had a blown engine that they didn't tell me till afterwards. At 20,000 miles the van blew up and they sold it to me as new and it was used. They also tried to sell me a extended warranty that was paid for by the manufacture for $3,500.i feel i was done wrong and would not of bought this van if i had known it was blown up at 20,000 miles. I would like to request a review to have it inspected and fixed with the welding that the recall calls for. Thank you.

I was driving to work and the service traction control system flashed on the screen followed by a message saying reduced engine power. Then the engine bogged down. I pulled over and shut the vehicle off and waited about 30 seconds. Started up and it was fine, messages and engine back to normal. However, it gives that message and the engine bogs down almost everytime i drive the vehicle. Most of the time twice each trip. Sometimes its snowy but sometimes the roads are completely clean and dry.

The check engine light has come on and stayed on since this date.it was a fleet car that was serviced by a dealership for 161,000.my husband told the dealership every time the check engine light is on, but they never would fix it.we bought it from fleet company and we took it by the same dealership to ask them if they could help us and the owner proceeded to tell me that it has too many miles on it and it is out of its warranty.i told him you are the dealership that serviced it for all those miles and you knew about it and have many records of the complaint and did not fix it.i then contacted gm and they would not help me either.it is wrong.it also has a problem with the fuel system too.i was stranded at work one time.if you park on a slanted hill and you have a quarter of a tank of gas it will not crank.you have to bounce up and down on back to shift gas and it will sometimes crank.

Engine cut off with result of loss of power steering and brakes. It happened and continues to happen in wet road condition, especially when going through the smallest of puddles. Resulting loss of any control over vehicle. Engine has kicked back on after a few seconds of uncontrollable coasting. So far i have avoided an accident. But now i do not drive this vehicle in rain or threat of rain.

This vehicle need to be recalled, i read alot from other people, and i am having the same problem, tire blow, odor of gas, i have kids and this is not a safe car, my kids have asthma and i can not have a car like this, this is damages and nit a safe van,2008 chev uplander need to be off the market. I drive this car smelling gas and gas is all over the road and highways. This need to be on recall

The vehicle will not heat the interior cabin when the engine is at idle.this causes the windshield to fog or fail to defrost and the passengers to be cold and uncomfortable and distracted while driving.this problem is common among uplander vans.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While driving 15 mph down a hill the vehicle stalled and was able to coast onto the side of the road while applying extreme pressure to the brakes. The contact was then able to turn the vehicle back on and it began to function normally. The dealer was contacted and stated that theywould like to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17800. The current mileage was 17898.

This vehicle is suffering an intermittent driver information center notification... Stating,.... Check abs brake system, check traction control system, check stability control system.... All the corresponding system dash lights are then on.i also believe i have smelled an odor in my car ... A faint smell of something burnt...

Third brake light lens broken at attaching points.

Third brake light lens broken at attaching points. Water leaking in on wiring. Noticed cracks on most all uplanders i have looked at in parking lots and shopping centers.

A short time after fuleing my gasoline tank i detected a gas odor. The odor did not go away, but got worse. I checked under my vehicle to see if there was any gasoline leaking and saw raw gasoline leaking down the side of the gas tank on the driver side. I could not determine the scource of the leak so i took my vehicle to a local repair service. The mechanic determined that the leak was coming from a plastic fuel line attacjed to the internalo fuel tank module. There was a crack in the plastic fuel line and gas would spray from this crack onto the top of the gas tank, eventually running down the side of the tank creating a very hazardous situation. I feel that fuel could have sprayed to the other side of the tank (exhaust pipe side) and could have caused a serious fire.

I've been having problems with my 2008 chevrolet uplander van which is equipped with the chevrolet "drive by wire" throttle. The throttle body was replaced in january of 2011 and continues malfunction. (3-years after original owner purchased)i have been taking the van to local area service stations to have the throttle body flushed every six months but continue to have reduced power issues. After calling the gm customer service number (866-790-5700 x20305) and explaining & having a file opened, i was informed that i was required to bring my van to a local dealer to have the issue diagnosed. The dealer diagnosed a faulty throttle body and the customer experience manager informed us that there is nothing the dealer can do to compensate this obvious design flaw which causes reduced engine power and causes the vehicle to operate at an unsafe speed and manner.i wrote the customer assistance center (cac) hoping that there are other processes that gm corporate office has in place to address issues such as these. My next step was to contact the national highway traffic safety administration vehicle safety hotline to determine any available resources.

A short time after filling my gasoline tank i began to detect the strong odor of gasoline fumes. I thought i had overfilled the tank so i ran out some gas for a few miles, but the odor of raw gasoline would not go away. I looked under the vehicle to see if there was any gasoline leaking and saw what appeared to be gasoline running down the drivers side of the gasoline tank. I could not detect the source of the leak so i took my vehicle to a local automotive repair shop. The mechanic removed the gasoline tank and discovered that the source of the leak was a crack in the plastic gasoline return line going into the internal tank module. This leak created a very hazardous situation that could have resulted in a serious fire if the raw gasoline had come into contact withthe hot exhaust tail pipe or catalytic converter. The mechanic told me that this is not the first time he had repaired this type of leak. There was no physical damage that he saw that could have caused the plastic return line to leak. I feel that this is a serious flaw in design or material and should be brought to the attention of other owners of a chevrolet uplander mini van.

While driving my truck my children would smell gasvery strong odor inside of the car it was so strong i turn off the a/c and put the windows down our eyes would burn and to make matters worse we also have breathing problems' traveling back and forth to school with no windows on the sides it is very unpleasant ride; this went on for over a week i had no choice this is the van i use to take them to school church store which is a far distance from where we live. I would like to add even when the van is parked you can still smell gas inside and outside. I am a widow and all i have is my children please help us i will need a rental as i can not be with out transportation thank you for your attention.

Fuel pump defective from fuel feed and return line

The contact owned a 2008 chevrolet uplander. After driving for approximately three hours and turning off the engine, there was a strong fuel odor. The contact noticed fuel leaking from the top of the tank. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 130,400.

We started smelling gas coming from the car took it to our mechanic he told me it was probably leaking from the fuel pump it is a common problem with this particular model of vehicle $600 later we had a new fuel pump installed and no gas smell could have been ugly if gas would have ignited i have been looking online and apparently my mechanic is correct it is a common problem

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact observed a defect with the interior overhead center console light; located in the rear of the vehicle.the console light was extremely hot to touch.the vehicle has not been inspected for the malfunction at this time.the contact had concern of the potential safety hazard.the failure mileage was 30,000.the vin was unavailable.

Three of the child's fingers were fractured. The manufacturer stated that an investigator would inspect the vehicle. The failure and current mileages were 31,000.

I have the 2008 chevy uplander model with handicapped lowered floor plan.i can not get out of my van from the inside the passengers side door does not open.i cannot get the side door to open to allow myself to get out of this van myself.this needs to be looked at very important as this is a major problem that needs attention a.s.a.p. Please contact me to have this van looked into so i can get in and out on my own as i need to somehow have you fix the door so it can be opened and closed and the main problem is i cannot get the door to open from the inside.thank you. P.s. The door latch will not open manualy and needs attention..

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that both sliding doors open on the vehicle without assistance.the contact stated the doors also opened while the vehicle was moving. The rear sliding doors open while driving, do not shut all the time and the alarm telling you the door is open goes off all the time when the doors are closed.

1 opened drivers side rear door at day care.. Closed door and it feel to the ground. The silver piece that slid on the track on the side of the vehicle completely broke off. I go inside the car to call assistanceafter picking the door up and putting it in a restin position onthe car. I get inside and the doors lock and will not open i could not get out of the car. I go to dealership and they fix it making me pay for only halfof the part and no labor. I go pick up mychildren and the door that was suppose to be fixed will not shut completely but locksand my driver door will not open because it is lockingits self. My children were stuck in the car in hottexas weather with out airconditioning. Luckily the door opened after a minute or so of my pulling and unlocking and locking the door. This was very scary for two reason what if the door falls off while im driving and what if i cant get my kids out ! i will be taking it back in the morning vut it was very scary.2 twice3 new piece and hinge put on sliding door.

On 05/31/2016 called chevrolet to ask why stability control light went on when going over a bump in road. 06-02-2016 called local dealership about stability light problem, was told that is was a loose connection most likely. Now the transmission mechanic says the transmission has overheated and needs a complete rebuild for $2,600.00. Online the chevy forum says that the module goes and the transmission overheats destroying the transmission, but also states a light comes on. This light has not come on if its not the stability control light.

Clicking, squeaky, clunky noises in rear suspension. There is a jerk at 20mph, as you drive it keeps jerking as you pick up speed. Stability control system light keeps coming on even after i changed the wheel bearing.

The van was park for about 2 hours. I return and start the engine i move to "d" for drive and the van not go. Only 2,1 speed goes forward. But no drive "d". Research show the need a new transmission do to overheating. This issues need to be address by chevy.

2008 chevrolet uplander with transmission problems. Consumer states when he went down a slight down hill grade, he went down the grade on an angle.the right wheel contacted the road before the left wheel. As the consumer started to accelerate, he heard the stability control activate. The vehicle immediately pitched forward 3 or 4 times. The consumer believed either the transmission was locking up or the front brakes were locking on. The consumer regained control of the vehicle and started to go forward.

My transmission is starting to stutter at high speeds i was told by two different mechanics that this is a common problem and i shouldn't have to pay for it! that chevy knows about it and should fix the problem as a recall! i owe way too much on the van to put 3000 dollars into a transmission overhaul because of a problem that they knew about a while ago but did not recall it!

This van has fairly low mileage when the transmission stopped working as we drove on the highway. It was a busy highway and we just barely managed to get off the road. We were so lucky we were not hit by other cars when this happened. The mechanic said the inside sheered off inside the transmission. He showed us the parts (which i still have as proof of the issue that is a problem of gm.). The parts were weak and just ripped apart. Luckily we were not hurt, but this could have been catastrophic. It cost $3800 to repair, and the car was only 2 months out of warranty. Chevy was very uncooperative in getting help.

I am at a stop light and put my foot on the gas to go when the light changed and it wouldn't go. The car was sputtering , shaking really hard ...i was able to eventually get home. Now i can't even drive the car my uplander at all because the transmission is out completely. The dealer verified it is the transmission. They are taking it apart to see exactly what went wrong inside the transmission. My powertrain warranty just expired july 31st of this year. I feel that at 55k miles , this is a manufacturers issue. They must have put a bad transmission in the uplander from the beginning. I feel they should take ownership and make it right. I have 4 kids and need my van to pick them up and so i can get to work. I don't have a lot of money for a huge repair when i trusted that chevrolet was a good reliable car maker.

I own a 2008 chevrolet uplander which displays a "service engine light" when driving in rain or snow, on trips more than an hour in length. This problem has occurred on more than twelve occasions, and has been taken to three dealers under warranty for repair. Diagnoses include wrong gas cap, wiring harness short circuit, maf failure, fuel injector fouling, air filter blockage, etc. None of these diagnoses have proven correct, and the problem still exists. The last dealer i took it to told me the problem isn't serious, "the engine light just means that it doesn't meet smog requirements." my state requires echeck before i can register the vehicle, which means that i can't get tags for the vehicle when they expire this year. General motors refuses to consider any other options for resolving the problem. They have told me i have to go back to the dealer 50, 100 times, as many as necessary to fix the problem. I cannot continue to take time off work and lose use of the car if they cannot fix it. I have made at least twelve trips for these two problems and despite general motors opinion, i think that is more than reasonable opportunity to fix the car. I also have a noise in the suspension which poses a safety risk but does not prevent me from registering the car. They have also been unable to fix this problem or determine the source.

The drivers side seat belt started going slack about a year ago but i could take up the tension by hand after i buckled the belt. This was just an annoyance until a month ago when the srs light appeared on the dash. The mil was intermittent at first , leading me to believe that the malfunction was likely to resolve itself. Unfortunately the mil is now always on.i took the vehicle to a qualified technician whom i trust and he put the vehicle on the scanner. He informed me that i did indeed have a "hard" code. His computer tells me that my left front pretensioner deployment loop is open. (code # dtc b 0065). I haven't yet taken the vehicle to the dealer to see how this resolves.

Seat belt pretensioner deployed w no impactbelt is slack . Manufacturer knows of problem and has issued a tsb stating that its because sticky liquids have spilled into mechanism, which is impossible. The tsb is just a smokescreen. Im sure alot of cars have this condition but chevy unwilling to acknowledge.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander.the contact stated that the back seat of his vehicle was modified and will not go all the way back and forward as it should.whenever the driver depresses the brake pedal, the passenger in the back seat will come forward and fall out of the seat.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the service manager rode in the back seat.he stated that it was unsafe and advised the contact to file a complaint with nhtsa.the failure has been occurring ever since the contact purchased the vehicle last year.the failure mileage was 4.

This vehicle is suffering an intermittent driver information center notification... Stating,.... Check abs brake system, check traction control system, check stability control system.... All the corresponding system dash lights are then on.i also believe i have smelled an odor in my car ... A faint smell of something burnt...

Alternator went out ,rear passenger door fell off the top hinge hit the payment, brakes started falling again.

Had this car about a year and then the problems started to show up. My abs/traction control started to show up on my dash board and then go away. This has happened roughly 4-5 times but never thought to get it checked out. On 4-2-2015 is when the problems showed its ugly head. My brakes started acting up, front passenger side caliper started sticking and brakes not fully engaging to stop the car unless hit again in rapped braking. I bought over 400 dollars in replacements (calipers, pads as well as rotors) to have the issue resolved. Everything was fine until 4-5-2015 when i put my kids into the car and attempted to start it. My brake pedal froze up wouldn't fully engage and all 4 of my brakes froze up. Had to get the car towed home to have a closer look at the damage. What i found out is that there was a lot of pressure build up that shot out like compressed air once the bleed valve was released but still no disengage of the breaks nor the pedal. With not dealing with a issue like this, i called some friends and was informed that there was a major recall for this particular issue since there is nothing that can be done with out some major repairs as well as time. Thank god my brakes did not freeze while i was on the highway with my family in the far or it could have been a lot worse.

While driving down the road, brakes locked up on vehicle.problem has repeated itself several times since. When this happens, vehicle pulls to the left.we are no longer driving vehicle due to safety concern.

There were a lot of shaking in vibrations and it seem to wander across the road back-and-forth i take iti took it to a local tire shop and i have attached the documents that they gave me regarding what needed fixed on the vivo i began making repairs doing the inner and outer tie rods the sway bar links the control arms thee in transmission pushing motor mount on the front loweri didn't oil change. They're still an issue with control on the steering wheel there's lots vibration and the car seems to want to pull to the right or of the left when you accelerate there's a loud clunking noise when i put the vehicle into gear or when i accelerate or decelerate. It also like the car is leaning to the right on all different road types it doesn't have to be just an incline road or went 9a just driving down the road it randomly falls to the right i have then everything that i can i have taken the car in for an alignment and replaced a tire on it and it is currently in the shop trying to be diagnosed i feel this is a huge safety concern because it sounds and feels like the tire is going to just go off while i'm driving i don't know if this sounds are coming from the front or the back i don'twhat i can do to rectify the problem but i do not feel safe when driving this vehicle i put a lot of money into it and like i said i just purchased it so any help would be greatly appreciated i don't know if it's in suspension issues brake issues transmission and shoes ah if it's i don't really know what it is but i need this problem fixed a as applease please please help me. When driving my uplander the steering wheel has locked while i was turning.system charging failure light has appeared.service center tested alternator and everything they could think of and were unable to figure out why steering wheel is locking while driving the vehicle.i was informed to drive the uplander back to the dealership if it locks again.i am unsure how i'm suppose to drive it withthe steering locked.i have had it lock numerous times while at an intersection.i have to put the vehicle in park and turn it off then wait a few minutes.when vehicle is restarted the steering wheel will then turn.i asked chevy service dept about the safety issue and they stated i could rent a car for $35.00 a day but they couldn't tell me when or if they could solve the problem.unfortunately i only have one vehicle so i must continue to drive the uplander and pray i will not be injured in an accident or anyone else.i also had problems with the abs brakes and traction control coming on while driving.i had to take it to the dealership several times.they kept telling me they could not find a problem and reset the controls.the abs and traction got so bad when i took it in the last time they deemed my uplander unsafe to drive and refused to give it to me.1 month later they changed out the electrical box and returned it to me. When i read the paperwork on the repairs they stated the passengerside airbag had been replaced.

There is a noise in the steering column as you turn the steering wheel. I have 2008 uplander and my daughter has a 2007 uplander and both vehicles are making the same noise. Chevrolet repair shop says cost of replace the steering rack will be $750. My vehicle only has 49,000 miles on it.

Tamara recall we were in an accident, we hit a 190ib deer at 70mph and the air bags did not deploy. Was driving on interstate 49 south.

Alternator went out ,rear passenger door fell off the top hinge hit the payment, brakes started falling again.

I have a 2008 chevy uplander which has developed a severe banging of the rear axle through the rear tailing arm bushing the manufacturer is well aware of the failure of the rear trailing arm bushings in this vehicle and with all models with this type of rear axle. The vehicle sounds as if someone is pounding on the bottom of the frame whenever i hit any size bump at any speed. I know that the manufacturer is aware of this specific problem because chevy has issued a revision to their mechanics repair manual with an addendum numberedpit3323e. Which states that:" if no problems are found with the rear suspension components after thorough diagnosis then replace the rear trailing arm bushings" this addendum goes on to state that "a visual inspection of the rear trailing arm bushings may show no fault" i believe that i should have this defect repaired for free or at a discounted pro rated charge.but, no i am dropping the car off tommorrow to have this repaired at the cost of$ 380.00. I feel that a t.s.b. Should be issued so that owners of these cars should have their repairs done at a fair prorated charge.unfortunately its too late for me because the noise and jarring of the body upon hitting a small pebble in the road has become unbearable and i have to bite the bullet,if only for my own sanity. Oh, p.s. I have replaced two sets of shocks in the rear since the defect was impossible to detect by any means, whether it be a visual inspection or by jacking up the rear and physically manipulating and trying to obsrve the operation and action of the axle to duplicate the noise. No such luck!!!!!!!!

Our 2008 chevrolet uplander van is utilized to deliver campus mail.this past week the carrier hand was caught in the door while unloading/loading mail.luckily there was no major damage done to her hand but that may not be the case the next time.there are no locking position on the two sliding side doors.we have to park on inclines.this accident may happen again.i have an older van and it has a locking mechanism.why wasn't a locking mechanism place on the sliding side doors.

While driving sliding side doors would open on their own. The dealer has tried to fix it but could not ever get them to quit. I talked to several people with that own a chevy uplander van same year and different years they have all had the same problem. I have 2 handicapped grand children, plus 2 dogs, have always been afraidone of them would fall out. Was sitting still one day and the doors opened, one of my dogs ran out in the street under a moving vehicle, he was knocked down but was not injured. There has been many different problems with this van, but nun life threatening as the doors coming open driving down the road, i mentioned to dealer that chevy should find a permanent fix for the doors, so far never seen recall on a chevy uplander for this problem, the other people i talked to said they have never been told that their is a permanent fix for their doors coming open driving down the road. I an 71 years of age and have never bought a foreign vehicle always made in the usa. I have owned chevy, buick, pontiac, dodge, & ford, we had considered buying a chevy again but now that we have had to put up with this dangerous situation with this chevy we will buy a dodge or ford product. I am glad we bailed them out and they are making money now, and would have liked to bought another chevy, but they haven't done the same for us! i hope no one has been killed or injured with their doors coming open, a lot of people don't complain they just except it and move on. Enough said hope they find a fix for this problem one day before somebody does get killed or injured for life, like what happen with the fuel tanks on the chevy trucks.

It didn't appear to do this all the time when i got the vehicle a month ago but it has gotten worse to now every single time i drive the vehicle it's very scary

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 mph, the rear end and front passengerā€™s side of the vehicle would vibrate with an abnormal, clunking sound coming from the vehicle. The abs warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel when the failure occurred. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed him that the rear suspension trailing arm was defective and needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact discovered nhtsa campaign number: 10v110000 (suspension) which he linked to the failure however, the vin was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 209,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While driving at any speed, there was an abnormallyloud noise coming from the rear passenger side. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v110000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 208,000.

Clicking, squeaky, clunky noises in rear suspension. There is a jerk at 20mph, as you drive it keeps jerking as you pick up speed. Stability control system light keeps coming on even after i changed the wheel bearing.

These are state fleet vehicles we have purchased over 98 of these uplanders and have had problems with the front brakes and the driver's tire going flat on over 33 of these vehicles.

Right back passenger door wouldn't close properly 3 days after purchase; took it in for adjustment.2 years later, during which my baby was sitting next to that door, the latch failed and the door was inoperable. Tire pressure monitors.oem monitors failed at 34000 miles, 40000 miles and 42000 miles. Gm replaced two of three failures. Replaced one and three. Would not replace second failure we were traveling and tire repaired by roadside assistance. Last two were not under warranty, however last replacement was an upgraded model and not aluminum. Apparently the aluminum anodized and deteriorated.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. While the vehicle was stationary, the abs and traction control indicators illuminated without warning. The abs pump was replaced five times, along with the wheel hubs and wiring harness; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 146,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that the traction control and electronic stability warning indicators remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed dielectric grease on the front driver and passenger wheels. The vehicle was remedied, but the failure recurred. In addition, the vehicle needed the battery changed approximately five times. The manufacturer was notmade aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 68,560.

While driving our 08 chevy uplander at highway speeds, for no reason, the dic shows.. Reduced engine power and service traction control. When this happens the van slows, almost to a stop and cannot get back to speed until it is shut off for at least 5 minutes. This happens several times in a 20 mile trip (at least 5). Our mechanic has put it on his diagnostic computer and shows no problem. This even happens while the dic is showing service traction control and reduced engine power. After reading all the posts online about this specific vehicle ( chevy uplander). I am very afraid to drive it. It has occurred while on the interstate at the speed of 70mph. Had to pull over to avoid getting rear-ended, re-start the van, only to get a few miles down the road and it do the same thing, over and over again. Made contact with gm customer service have a case number, but they want me to take it to another gm garage to have it put on the diagnostic machine, again, this will cost $79per hour, out of pocket if they cannot find a problem. Again, this happens for no reason, road conditions are normal. We also have water standing on the floor board, which in the winter time freezes and makes the pedals slippery, still have not found where the water comes from, no one can find a leak. Our mechanic did clean off some sensors and the throttle control, that was a short term fix, now it seems to happen more often.

Tamara recall we were in an accident, we hit a 190ib deer at 70mph and the air bags did not deploy. Was driving on interstate 49 south.

While driving north on dagsboro road i crossed the railroad tracks and the rear axle on the passenger side broke catapulting the vehicle into a telephone pole on the left side of the road and causing the vehicle to turn over two times. I don't know if it was turning end over end or sidewise. The telephone pole broke off at the bottom and also at the top leaving the top hanging on the wires. I didn't realize that the left rear tire had come off until the car was being moved to the salvage yard. The state ofdelaware uniform collision report indicates that the cause of the accident was inattentive driving. I told cpl albert at the time of the accident that i didn't know what happened but i did remember being sleepy and mentioning that i was planning to stop at the smyrna rest area to take a nap. The rest area was at least an hours drive ahead of us so i didn't think i was in any immediate danger of falling asleep. I have communicated with cpl albert several times since the accident in an effort to have the reason for the accident changed from inattentive driving to mechanical failure. When i showed the picture of the broken axel to my mechanic he suggested that the car was catapulted on to the telephone pole. The really weird thing is that when it's idling it gains amps and when the car is being driven it loses amps.eventually however, it just doesn't even take the charge. When i stop at a light or come to a complete stop, then as i go to accelerate to drive the car here's very badly and causes cars behind you to capable hit you. What is going on with my vehicle

I recently purchased this vehicle in march and about 3 days after purchasing and i noticed that there was a problem with controlling the steering wheel. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle lost power. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. "reduced power" was displayed across the message board. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the throttle position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The first thing that i noticed was the warning system posted "stability system error".while driving on the highway, with my foot on the accelerator, the brake depressed with some agitation of catching or jerkiness.this has occurred multiple times with no real pattern of consistency.

The vehicle will not heat the interior cabin when the engine is at idle.this causes the windshield to fog or fail to defrost and the passengers to be cold and uncomfortable and distracted while driving.this problem is common among uplander vans.

The rear hatch window exploded out of the van last night (8-19-2012). I got in moved van 10 feet, turned van off, got out shut drivers door and rear door exploded out.sounded just like a gun shot then glass all over the inside of the van.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet uplander. The contact stated that both washer pumps have a hole in them and failed to operate normally. The windshield washer fluid began leaking on the ground. A local mechanic replaced both of the washer pumps. The warranty expired; therefore, the dealer or manufacturer were not notified.the failure mileage was 48,000. Updated 2/22/10 the consumer stated both washer pumps had holes in them. Updated 06/11/10
