The contact owned a 2017 chevrolet trax. While the contact's daughter was making a left turn, another vehicle ran the red light. As a result, the front end of the contact's vehicle crashed into the other vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the neck and head that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot where it was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened case number: 8-302-0913391. The contact owned a 2017 chevrolet trax. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle crashed into a deer causing severe damage to the front end. During the crash the air bags did not deploy, and the vehicle was destroyed the vehicle was towed away from the scene. Not injuries were reported. No police report was taken. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 51,585.
I purchased my vehicle on november 22, 2017. I was in an accident on december 14, 2017 where i hit a dog and my car caught fire. The fire department and police didn't believe that i hit a dog and it caused this damage. I contacted gm to see if they would investigate but they told me they would not investigate unless my insurance contacted them and they also told me to read my manual on seatbelts when i let them know the airbags did not deploy. I believe whole heartedly that this car is unsafe if it caught on fire from hitting a dog and they dog was not large at all. Please be careful id considering this vehicle

My air conditioning compressor had a defective seal and the compressor was un repairable.the vehicle had only had less than 22,000 miles on the odometer.i didn't have warranty coverage for this.the seal should not have failed so early.my car was up on a lift in auto repair shop when this was discovered.
Vehicle was at highway speed when systems began to fail and vehicle abruptly lost acceleration. Warning lights and messages began to appear abruptly without warning. Rpm, and mph digital dial/ number jumped to 0 and back up to a random speed and then back down to 0. Accelerator pedal did not have any bearing on speed control.uncontrolled stalling at highway speed without any warning. Vehicle was driven off active roadway at next available exit and parked. Vehicle maintained error codes. Dealer contacted for tow. After waiting for tow and engine off, all error codes cleared. Driven to dealer and currently in service. Vehicle fairly new and repair under warranty. Problem uncertain but technician pointed to a grounding problem. Error lights during incident: power steering warning light (steady on), tcs/stabilitrak warning light (steady on) and check engine light (steady on). Plus, vehicle service messages: service power steering and service stabilitrak. I have taken pictures of the instrument cluster. Cluster errors began around 13:42 est and cleared around 15:42 est after parking and cutting engine off for some time (maybe 20 minutes) then restarting. Also, '.' in place of 'p' in bottom right corner next to odometer reading. Also, after initially parking and the first restart, power steering seemed completely inactive.
I drove my trax yesterday with no problems whatsoever, this morning i get into my vehicle at home, start the car and within two minutes, its full of smoke coming from under the hood, the engine light comes on and the front of the trax starts making horrible noises and shaking. I turn the car off and let it sit for a few minutes, try to start it up again and it will not turn over. There are no fluids on the ground, no wiring that i could see undone, not sure on what the problem is. I do have it being towed to a certified dealership to get it looked at and praying fixed.
When first purchased this car i had it for a month and when connected to bluetooth i couldn't hear the other party and other party would hear loud noises i took it in to diagnose and they said it was fine. Not the case continued to happen to this day. About 3 months into buying it when starting it delayed as if i had a couple years old car i think the starter is warning me it is going to give me problems. Also when braking is doesn't stop as if i had a new car it delays and i have almost crashed a couple times in serious traffic it has breaks as if it was an old car
The vehicle's shifter console does not illuminate at night, leaving one to guess what function they are in (park, reverse, drive).a very tiny notification is on the electronic dashboard, but if that fails, then there is no way of knowing what function the vehicle is in. Chevy says that the feature is standard, yet admitted that they left out of some 2017 trax vehicles. The shifter console does not illuminate regardless of whether your headlights are on or off.chevy has been made aware of this issue and informed that it is too expensive to fix the defect.
As i was driving all the lights and pictures started to flash on the dash board. The car wheel didnt want to turn and hot very hard to steer. The service engine light keeps flashing on and off. Its riding crazy. It was in motion.
On three separate occasions, i went to my chevrolet store and told them about how my gas gauge was not working correctly.i would fill my trax up, and instead of it moving to full, the gauge stayed at 1/2 tank.i never knew what the correct level of gas was in my vehicle.i even took pictures of the levels before and after the fill up, but they laughed it off, 3 times and said there were not any codes coming up, so it was okay.the 4th time i went, another company bought out the prior owner and said he had to replace the module.it had worked for a few months but it is still doing the same thing.so i don't think the module was the answer.my car has driven very roughly since i bought it and when they drive it, i am told they can't replicate the issue and i am sent home.
Multiple warning lights came on. Check engine, stabilatrak among others. Car got hard to steer and lost power. Very dangerous while driving on a highway. Pulled into a local repair shop because vehicle was unsafe to drive. They ran a diagnostic test and couldn't find anything. They said take it to a dealer. Barely made it to the dealer. Left car. They said it was fixed. Happened again within a week. Took it back. They had the car for about 4 weeks. They fixed it. Ran fine until sunday june 27 and did the same thing. Got it home. Had to drive very slow. It is now at the dealer again. This seems to be a problem with this vehicle as seen by researching the symptoms. The fact that it is so dangerous should make this a recall,
On jan, 4th, 2021 about 9am my 2017 chevy trax died on theinterstate. The service power steering light came on car just quit . I managed to pull over on the side of the road. Tried to restart it with no luck. Had it towed to engall' s auto shop in new jersey.as i was an hour away from home. Rented a car so i could get home. The next day engels call said the ecm is dead. Had the trax towed to motion chevy delearship. They confirmed that the ecm needed replaced. .ordered the ecm 0n the 5th and replaced on the7th. The servvice guy calls me and tells me that the module in the steering column is bad and have to change the whole column.. The service then said that the ecm was covered by extended warranty, butthe column would have to be paid out of pocket..$1,235.00.when i called chevy customer service they saidthat they pay $88.00 of the bill...with all of the complaints how is this not a recall issue????????

This will be the third time in 6 months that the car has had to be taken in to the dealership.it displays power steering error, engine light come on and car with drop speed with no warning.it also losses the power steering.it will then start up fine and run, but this time the engine light is remaining on.has happened in the warm and cold weather and after a long drive and a short drive.not sure why there are no other reports of this happening.it has happened when driving at 45 miles and this last time when trying to start it to leave my house.very scary to have your child driving this to and from school.
While driving down the interstate going 75 mph my doors keep locking and unlocking as well as the theft alarm going off. The theft alarm is going off every 5 minutes. We have tried unhooking the battery to reset but this did not work.

Service stabili trak warning and engine light came on with no prior warning. The vehicle would not reset, have to take it in for service. The roads and conditions were completely fair. No improper use of vehicle to cause these error lights. Vehicle engine sounds horrible and handles terribly
I've received two notices from gm, once that has an actual recall.both notices were received after my 2017 trax had been taken to the dealership for check-ups/repairs because of presenting symptoms of both issues of the notices/recall.the first being an evaporaive emissions purge valve that may not fully close, causing the engine to run cold, hesitate or stall at idle speeds. I experienced idling and jerking when my car was in lower gears, jerking so badly, with running in high rpms. I did not know if i would make it home and had to drive with my hazards on.this was experienced on sept. 2, 2019 (labor day) and i had my car towed from my parking garage to the dealership on sept. 4th, 2019.they could not replicate the problem or address it and were not aware of the notice gm had sent out. They did find a tear in some arm on the vehicle, caused by a defective ball bearing which was replaced but unrelated to why it was there. Late october, i experienced other issues with clicking on my breaking system, with my stabilitrack and check engine lights turning on, but then off when i went in reverse.at this time, i knew about the recall (# a192261870) and brought my car back in on nov. 1, 2019.again they couldn't "replicate" the issue, but inspected the car with regards to the recall and returned it with no immediate resolution.they ordered a speed-control part and all the recall parts. It's now december 4 and they still do not have the replacement control arms & the bolts that go with them (page chevrolet service dept; alexandria, va 22312; 703-349-4011.my vehicle continues to have braking/idling/spudering issues on occasion, it is not constant. I have had to call regularly to get updates, and have attempted to call chevrolet's customer assistance center to open an inquiry but am getting the run around of rover a month.i do not consider this timely.

While driving the service stabilitrak light goes on, the engine will go from whatever speed i am going then lose acceleration completely and automatically jump back up to the speed i was going making the car jolt and the power steering freezes up for no reason. Once the power steering freezes the warning light will go on. The vehicle has been in the shop 3 times for this issue(11/27/19 12/14/19 & 4/23/20). The car is still at the dealership and they cant seem to figure out the issue.

I notice my ac was going in and out and i checked my coolant, the reservoir was empty. When i made an appointment at the service department they discovered a leak under neath the turbo. In 2019 a valve was replaced that was sticking as "courtesy" at one of my oil changes. This year my vehicle stalled out on me at the gas station. I turned off my vehicle to pump gas and it wouldn't turn back over. When i finally got it to start again it was jerking very hard even while idling. It was difficult to get my vehicle running again. I got it to the dealership and they replaced the purge valve and i paid for an induction service since my vehicle is slowly approaching 50k. After a couple days of having my vehicle back i noticed my vehicle is still shifting very hard and is especially noticable in 30-50mph range, i drop my vehicle back off at the dealership 05/02/2020. The check engine light is not on it but, hey're getting a reading that there is a problem with the stability.

After a couple days of having my vehicle back i noticed my vehicle is still shifting very hard and is especially noticable in 30-50mph range, i drop my vehicle back off at the dealership 05/02/2020. The check engine light is not on it but, hey're getting a reading that there is a problem with the stability.
First problem with my trax 2017 was when my elementary school kid pulled the seat belt to snap her booster seat and it never rolled back. Stays stretched and doesn'tretract. I thought it was not a big deal and moved her on the other side. Yesterday i got the engine light on and my car just slowed down for no reason. I was already scared and wondering if it is safe to drive with the kids on the back but was on the middle of the road with no place to pull over so i kept going but my car would no go over 30mph.5 minutes later it got better.i am taking it to the dealership tomorrow but its over an hour away and don't even know if i should drive or have it towed.
Tires, suspension, water pump, water pump belt, thermostat alignment very often change tires because of alignment
I have a 2017 chevy trax with a 1.4l turbo.i have around 82,000 miles on it. Last week it started running rough so i checked the oil and there was none. And then realized the intake gasket was completely shot. Brought it to the dealer and they found that cylinder 3 ring was shot. That being said they wanted 2500 for a rebuild and when i asked if i would get some assistance from gm it came down to i wasn't a loyal customer they weren't going to help. Just because all service wasn't done there. And now i have a car with a bad motor at 82k miles. To me that seems like a a defective ring from when the motor was built. They say no of course. I'm very in satisfied and in awe on this situation.i will never purchase another vehicle from chevy again.
In cold weather driving, 2017 chevy trax will throw a check engine light 20 minutes after startup, which shuts down the vehicles ability to maintain speed.this happens in town and on the highway.code says turbo freezing.the vehicle will go max 40mph uphill on the highway and max 60mph on flat or downhill highway. Have to pull over because cars are coming from behind very fast in snowy conditions when vehicle will not maintain speed.the vehicle cannot accelerate from a stop either. Very scary.in town driving is almost not possible without getting run into because you cannot get out of the way.we have 10 of these vehicles and they all do the same.chevy dealer says they have a fix, but cannot gets parts to fix.its been 4 months of this major safety issue with no help from chevy.i am fed up.

The vehicle was taken to john miles chevrolet buick gmc (950 dogwood dr se, conyers, ga 30012, (678) 561-3754) where it was diagnosed that the engine was overheating and the engine coolant valve extension, oxygen sensor, and passenger side lower control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,999.
I bought it 2017 after a month my computer box is broken i'm lucky because it's under warranty. Every year in my dash board it always show up check services. Now my car is check engine.

Cold weather caused turbo system to freeze and the vehicle go into limp mode.unable to accelerate.parts on national backorder for 2 months.i purchased this vehicle used with just under 19,000 miles on in december 2017.on december 30th the check engine light came on and the vehicle went into limp mode while accelerating on the highway (previous had let the vehicle go through 2 start up cycles and went about 5 miles down the road before i had an issue).the weather was around -20 f.took to dealership and a solenoid was replaced for the turbo system.after about a week of having the vehicle, when the weather was cold but not as cold as the first time the issue occurred, the check engine light came on and the vehicle went into limp mode.i was probably about 10 miles down the road and had ran the vehicle through a remote start cycle.i was accelerating after slowing down for another vehicle.vehicle was at the dealership for 2 months as the part i needed for tsb # 16-na-405 (dated 12/23/16) was on a national backorder.the weather warmed up, so the dealership let me have the vehicle back until the part came in.shortly after the part i needed came in, so the tsb was completed.chevy has known about the turbo system freezing for over a year, yet they sell vehicles with this issue in cold weather states.chevy did not seem concerned about this issue, so i am hoping to warn others and get the word out.i spoke to someone who also has a trax and had the same issue.they actually had their vehicle start smoking after the repair, and the repair had to me made over.chevy needs to make sure this is fixed in all vehicles with this turbo system, so someone does get stranded or in an accident.

No warning lights illuminated. The contact nor the other driver was not injured. A police report was not filed, the contact stated there was no damage to neither of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to gordon chevrolet, inc (1850 ford rd, garden city, mi 48135) and was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the vehicle was normal. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mention that when the vehicle in her driveway it will rollback. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

Roughly at 40,000 miles driver side seat began to raddle badly. When i got out of the car the whole seat lifted up. I looked under the seat and noticed a lift mechanism that raised the seat or lowered it was broken off and now it's just flopping away. If i brake to hard the whole seat pushes me forward and wedges me in between it and the seat belt.

I've received two notices from gm, once that has an actual recall.both notices were received after my 2017 trax had been taken to the dealership for check-ups/repairs because of presenting symptoms of both issues of the notices/recall.the first being an evaporaive emissions purge valve that may not fully close, causing the engine to run cold, hesitate or stall at idle speeds. I experienced idling and jerking when my car was in lower gears, jerking so badly, with running in high rpms. I did not know if i would make it home and had to drive with my hazards on.this was experienced on sept. 2, 2019 (labor day) and i had my car towed from my parking garage to the dealership on sept. 4th, 2019.they could not replicate the problem or address it and were not aware of the notice gm had sent out. They did find a tear in some arm on the vehicle, caused by a defective ball bearing which was replaced but unrelated to why it was there. Late october, i experienced other issues with clicking on my breaking system, with my stabilitrack and check engine lights turning on, but then off when i went in reverse.at this time, i knew about the recall (# a192261870) and brought my car back in on nov. 1, 2019.again they couldn't "replicate" the issue, but inspected the car with regards to the recall and returned it with no immediate resolution.they ordered a speed-control part and all the recall parts. It's now december 4 and they still do not have the replacement control arms & the bolts that go with them (page chevrolet service dept; alexandria, va 22312; 703-349-4011.my vehicle continues to have braking/idling/spudering issues on occasion, it is not constant. I have had to call regularly to get updates, and have attempted to call chevrolet's customer assistance center to open an inquiry but am getting the run around of rover a month.i do not consider this timely.

Purchased a new 2017 trax. At the 3 year mark or near, i heard a squeal from time to time while driving forward. At no time did the brake squeal when applying the brake.at 9500 miles ( 3years)when the squeak happened , no warning lights or onstar indicated there was a brake issue. Monthly updates as to car maintenance also indicated no issues. Upon taking the car to the dealer for service, i was told that mud and dirt got into the brakes and that the car needed new brakes, pads, caliper slides, rotors. Knowing the low mileage on the vehicle and knowing all cars the norm is usually around 20,000 miles the brakes are ready to be serviced. But not at 9,500 miles. Also had a prior issue where brake fluid leaked out of the vehicle when driving at 2500 mileage. I had to have the brake fluid reservour replaced as it was broken .at2500 mileage the master cylinder leaked into the brake booster and the master cylinder was replaced. Cant help but wonder if that related to later issue with the brakes replaced at 9500 miles. I was told at the dealer that mud and dirt got into the brakes and that the brakes were 'hot" whatever that means. .had i known that it was a brake issue by the indicator lights and updates on onstar i would have considered it a serious problem and taken the car as soon as possible but i waited as no warning lights and no indication from driving that the brakes were an issue. For some reason i got a credit for 167.00 on my bill for what i do not know as it showed as insurance? i paid a total of 483.00 . I can only assume it was for the brakes as they were faulty to begin with. Thank goodness i didnt have an accident while driving. Thanks for listening.
When first purchased this car i had it for a month and when connected to bluetooth i couldn't hear the other party and other party would hear loud noises i took it in to diagnose and they said it was fine. Not the case continued to happen to this day. About 3 months into buying it when starting it delayed as if i had a couple years old car i think the starter is warning me it is going to give me problems. Also when braking is doesn't stop as if i had a new car it delays and i have almost crashed a couple times in serious traffic it has breaks as if it was an old car

While driving the service stabilitrak light goes on, the engine will go from whatever speed i am going then lose acceleration completely and automatically jump back up to the speed i was going making the car jolt and the power steering freezes up for no reason. Once the power steering freezes the warning light will go on. The vehicle has been in the shop 3 times for this issue(11/27/19 12/14/19 & 4/23/20). The car is still at the dealership and they cant seem to figure out the issue.
Vehicle was at highway speed when systems began to fail and vehicle abruptly lost acceleration. Warning lights and messages began to appear abruptly without warning. Rpm, and mph digital dial/ number jumped to 0 and back up to a random speed and then back down to 0. Accelerator pedal did not have any bearing on speed control.uncontrolled stalling at highway speed without any warning. Vehicle was driven off active roadway at next available exit and parked. Vehicle maintained error codes. Dealer contacted for tow. After waiting for tow and engine off, all error codes cleared. Driven to dealer and currently in service. Vehicle fairly new and repair under warranty. Problem uncertain but technician pointed to a grounding problem. Error lights during incident: power steering warning light (steady on), tcs/stabilitrak warning light (steady on) and check engine light (steady on). Plus, vehicle service messages: service power steering and service stabilitrak. I have taken pictures of the instrument cluster. Cluster errors began around 13:42 est and cleared around 15:42 est after parking and cutting engine off for some time (maybe 20 minutes) then restarting. Also, '.' in place of 'p' in bottom right corner next to odometer reading. Also, after initially parking and the first restart, power steering seemed completely inactive.

I started the car on tuesday 6-18 to go to work and as soon as i started it, there was a message on the dashboard saying to service power steering and the error light was on. I went ahead and drove to work (only 1 mile away) and it took all that i had to steer it. First chance that i got, i called the nearest dealership and had it towed there, at chevy's expense because the car is still under warranty. When they finally had time to look at it, they said that there was an internal error in the power steering module, they have to replace it, according to law or their guidelines. I've checked several times and they have not been able to find the part anywhere, no dealerships or anyplace else. Here it is over a week later and they still can't find anything. They did give me a loaner, but this is ridiculous. They can't even tell me how long it may be.

On jan, 4th, 2021 about 9am my 2017 chevy trax died on theinterstate. The service power steering light came on car just quit . I managed to pull over on the side of the road. Tried to restart it with no luck. Had it towed to engall' s auto shop in new jersey.as i was an hour away from home. Rented a car so i could get home. The next day engels call said the ecm is dead. Had the trax towed to motion chevy delearship. They confirmed that the ecm needed replaced. .ordered the ecm 0n the 5th and replaced on the7th. The servvice guy calls me and tells me that the module in the steering column is bad and have to change the whole column.. The service then said that the ecm was covered by extended warranty, butthe column would have to be paid out of pocket..$1,235.00.when i called chevy customer service they saidthat they pay $88.00 of the bill...with all of the complaints how is this not a recall issue????????

This will be the third time in 6 months that the car has had to be taken in to the dealership.it displays power steering error, engine light come on and car with drop speed with no warning.it also losses the power steering.it will then start up fine and run, but this time the engine light is remaining on.has happened in the warm and cold weather and after a long drive and a short drive.not sure why there are no other reports of this happening.it has happened when driving at 45 miles and this last time when trying to start it to leave my house.very scary to have your child driving this to and from school.

My radio stopped working and when i took it in they saidthe amplifier needed to be replaced because it got wet from water that had pooled in the wheel well due to a leak.they took the car to ss auto body and they found multiple leaks and have had my car for 24 days trying to identify them all.

The fire department and police didn't believe that i hit a dog and it caused this damage. On three separate occasions, i went to my chevrolet store and told them about how my gas gauge was not working correctly.i would fill my trax up, and instead of it moving to full, the gauge stayed at 1/2 tank.i never knew what the correct level of gas was in my vehicle.i even took pictures of the levels before and after the fill up, but they laughed it off, 3 times and said there were not any codes coming up, so it was okay.the 4th time i went, another company bought out the prior owner and said he had to replace the module.it had worked for a few months but it is still doing the same thing.so i don't think the module was the answer.my car has driven very roughly since i bought it and when they drive it, i am told they can't replicate the issue and i am sent home.

My air conditioning compressor had a defective seal and the compressor was un repairable.the vehicle had only had less than 22,000 miles on the odometer.i didn't have warranty coverage for this.the seal should not have failed so early.my car was up on a lift in auto repair shop when this was discovered.

I scraped my passenger side rear view mirror and it completely shattered. I have been trying to get the part replaced since february 13, 2018. While driving down the interstate going 75 mph my doors keep locking and unlocking as well as the theft alarm going off. The theft alarm is going off every 5 minutes. We have tried unhooking the battery to reset but this did not work.

Do to, lower control arm weld being defective, noticed that uneven wear of both friend tires noticed. The control arm was replaced on 9/19/2019. Who is responsible for the wear of the tires. Need new tires. I mentioned the wear to the adviser and i was told to contact the company.
They designed a pressure valve underneath the rear bumper fascia with a hole large enough for rodents and small animals to have access to the cabin of the car without destroying any part of the car to gain access. It is essentially an open door for squirrels, mice, rats to use then nest in the car unbeknownst to the owner. It comes with the danger of a rodent popping out while driving or spreading diease throughout the cabin of the car via the air ducts. I feel the cabin of the car should be a sealed unit. The only way i feel this should be deemed an environmental issue is in the case of an animal destroying a part in order to gain access to the cabin of the car. In this instance there is no damage in order to gain access the cabin and it is the same as leaving a car door open 24/7 hoping nothing bad happens. I have reported this to general motors and no one seems to understand the frustration i am having.

I have had this happen twice with my vehicle and i notified the dealer of this and nothing was done. Twice now i have been driving on a highway going at a speed no more than 60 began to accelerate and had the rpm shoot up to 8 and the mph shoot down to almost zero. I do a slight acceleration and the car comes almost to a complete stop like the engine cut out. The first time i didn't really worry about it but it has happened twice now and could cause a very serious accident. The car also begins to shake after about 30 minutes of being on this happens when i'm driving and while sitting in the car while it's in park.
The car was able to be driven without the key in close proximity. One incident happend and the key was left in a friends car. I was able to drive the car to my next location and only noticed when i went to start the car up again. The second incident happend after someone else used my car. I found the key at home and had to take the key to the car to be retrieved.
I was driving down the street, normal speed and the car was stalling ( like a putt putt). I took the car in to chevy, they had it for a couple of days and stated they could not figure out what was wrong with it. I picked the car up and about 15 miles out, i put the car in reverse and it cut off. I then put the car in park, it cut off, i did that about 5 times. I called to have them tow it. The dealership stated it cut off on them the next day but after 65 days and less than 200 miles later they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. They returned the car to me and a week later 10/15/2019 its back to the putt putt.
I own a 2017 chevy trax. My awd warning light came on saying the awd system was shut off. It cost me $430.00 to replace the rear differential because it was in such bad shape. That is ridiculous to have that happen in only 3 years.
Vehicle was at highway speed when systems began to fail and vehicle abruptly lost acceleration. Warning lights and messages began to appear abruptly without warning. Rpm, and mph digital dial/ number jumped to 0 and back up to a random speed and then back down to 0. Accelerator pedal did not have any bearing on speed control.uncontrolled stalling at highway speed without any warning. Vehicle was driven off active roadway at next available exit and parked. Vehicle maintained error codes. Dealer contacted for tow. After waiting for tow and engine off, all error codes cleared. Driven to dealer and currently in service. Vehicle fairly new and repair under warranty. Problem uncertain but technician pointed to a grounding problem. Error lights during incident: power steering warning light (steady on), tcs/stabilitrak warning light (steady on) and check engine light (steady on). Plus, vehicle service messages: service power steering and service stabilitrak. I have taken pictures of the instrument cluster. Cluster errors began around 13:42 est and cleared around 15:42 est after parking and cutting engine off for some time (maybe 20 minutes) then restarting. Also, '.' in place of 'p' in bottom right corner next to odometer reading. Also, after initially parking and the first restart, power steering seemed completely inactive.
When the car was in motion and i was trying to turn it would go. All the lightscame on the dash board and this is not the first time it did this. This is unsafe and help is needed!
In cold weather driving, 2017 chevy trax will throw a check engine light 20 minutes after startup, which shuts down the vehicles ability to maintain speed.this happens in town and on the highway.code says turbo freezing.the vehicle will go max 40mph uphill on the highway and max 60mph on flat or downhill highway. Have to pull over because cars are coming from behind very fast in snowy conditions when vehicle will not maintain speed.the vehicle cannot accelerate from a stop either. Very scary.in town driving is almost not possible without getting run into because you cannot get out of the way.we have 10 of these vehicles and they all do the same.chevy dealer says they have a fix, but cannot gets parts to fix.its been 4 months of this major safety issue with no help from chevy.i am fed up.
I had just purchased my chevy trax on july 10, 2018.it had 14,600 miles on it.i went out to my garage on july 31, got into my vehicle and shut my driver's door at which time the window glass behind me shattered into a thousand pieces. Glass went everywhere, inside and out.this happened while the vehicle was stationery and not running.
I scraped my passenger side rear view mirror and it completely shattered. I have been trying to get the part replaced since february 13, 2018. I had been told that it needed to be special ordered because parts were not available for my vehicle anywhere in the us. I was told yesterday that the part is on back order with no date of availability. Even with the side mirror the car has dangerous "blind" spots and without the mirror it is very unsafe to drive. I now find myself locked in a lease on a vehicle that cannot be repaired to a safe driving condition.
The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet trax. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the contact heard a popping sound and discovered that the rear driver side window had shattered. The glass window was replaced by an independent mechanic. Later, the passenger's side window also shattered. The contact stated that both windows shattered without impact. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer star chevrolet located at 5200 us-30, greensburg, pa 15601 was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.
I am now beginning to the experience serious problems with the car i can be driving at 45 at shakes and vibrates and then this speedometer go down and i have to pull over and it cuts off in the middle of the highway i have not drove in this car over a week because of the safety features that i feel i am in atlanta georgia and i traffic is bumper-to-bumper and i do not feel safe and driving this car something that i had purchased to treat myself to pay off my car is fairly brand new when i got my car my car had only 6 miles on it and i have maintained the service on this car this car is deemed not to be safe for me and my family especially my small grandbabies i need something to be done immediately with this car as a consumer i did my part and purchasing the car and i expect gm to do their part by standing by me by being a loyal custom this is my second gym i do not want this car because it's not safe i am so afraid of driving this car thank you very much [xxx] call back number [xxx] i am presently a cdl driver and i know the importance of having a safe vehicle not only for myself but for the other drivers that's around me. The feature on the car that notifies you that the tire pressure sensor is failing may not be working. Currently my tire pressure on my dashboard is reporting that the psi on my right rear tire is 19 psi. However when i put an air gage to the tire its reading 34 or 35 psi. I have taken it to a tire shop so that they can put more air and they also state the pressure is fine.
