The contact owned a 2019 chevrolet traverse. When the contact's vehicle was turning left into a driveway, it was rear ended by another vehicle traveling 50 mph. The contact's vehicle was pushed into a ditch. The driver's air bag failed to deploy, causing the contact's head to strike the steering wheel. The contact suffered neck and back injuries that required medical attention. Police report number: e961540 was filed. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. The failure mileage was 4,193.

I recently had a crash in my 2019 chevrolet traverse. The impact hit my driver door and front end of my car. The vehicle that hit my car was traveling between 45 and 50 miles an hour. Every airbag in their vehicle deployed however even with the significant impact none of my airbags deployed. I've spoken with mini repairman at more than two chevrolet dealerships who stated the airbags should have deployed.

When placing vehicle in park - system error reports vehicle is not in park and will not allow car to be properly turned off. Took vehicle into chevrolet dealership with expensive part replaced and error has come up again not allowing owner to turn off vehicle due to error of vehicle not in park when gear shifter is in park. First corrected 10/15. Error came back 11/7.googled with known error occurring however no recall and concern for safety that vehicle will not properly turn off and does not recognize parked position of gear shifter.

The contact owns a 2019 chevrolet traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently and intermittently brake as the abs, power steering, traction control, and parking brake warning lights would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to dick wickstrom chevrolet (555 e irving park rd, roselle, il 60172) where the vehicle remained for over a month. The dealer had yet to duplicate the failure and had offered to return the vehicle to the contact unrepaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a diagnostic team would be sent to the dealer to have the vehicle inspected. The contact was then informed that the diagnostic team was also unable to diagnose or duplicate the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

Vehicle shift to park. When putting my vehicle in park the vehicle will not shut off and displays on the dash "shift to park"

Corrected and then error returned within 4wks.googled with known error occurring however no recall and concern for safety that vehicle will not properly turn off and does not recognize parked position of gear shifter.

On july 11, 2019, while operating this vehicle, an error message appeared on the dashboard which stated, 'power steering malfunction.' at the time of this error message, power steering had failed and maneuvering of the vehicle became difficult. During this incident, the vehicle was in motion on a highway. Vehicle was brought to a chevy dealer and the rack and pinion was replaced due to an electrical issue.

When stopping the vehicle, the auto-stop kicks in, which sometimes works well.other times it kills the whole car, shutting it down completely.the infotainment center goes black like the car was shut off using the start/stop button.so then it takes a bit to get it running again to go.this has happened to us 6 times now within the last 2 weeks.in high traffic areas this can be a safety concern.also when it shuts down completely the brake pedal goes soft and drops down to the floor.all this seems to happen when it is supposed to automatically start back up after being stopped for a short period of time.

Shift to park issue- car will not shift even though it's in park.

When turning off the traverse, a "shift to park" message is being displayed despite the vehicle being in park which does not allow the internal electronics (such as the radio) to turn off when exiting the vehicle. Sometimes shifting out of and back into park or hitting the buttons on the shifter fix the problem. Research shows there are at least 2 gm service bulletins which cover a number of their different vehicles. Service is scheduled with the dealer to fix, but mileage puts it just out of warranty, so we'll see how much they charge for this manufacturing/design defect.

"shift to park" message appears after putting the vehicle in park and trying to turn the engine off. Vehicle is clearly in park, but vehicle does not seem to recognize it is in park. Happens intermittenly. To be able to turn off the car, i will need to put the car in drive and then back to park. Sometimes it fixes on the first time, other times i need to do it multiple times.

When i shift the car into park and turn off the car a warning message appears that tells me the car is not in park and there is a ringing bell sound that won't stop. I have to turn the car on again and then off shifting thru the gears (sometimes multiple times) to get the message and bell to stop.

My vehicle was off, parked and locked.my car was on a somewhat flat surface and rolled into a tree.the same day i was able to drive my car approximately 3 miles from my home, park for approximately 4 hours and return home without keys. I have a police report and photos of the damage of my vehicle.

Turned on the car and a side detection system warning appeared on the dash warning me that the system was not working. Turned off the car and restarted it. Same warning. Blind spot system not working at all currently.

Purchased 3/1/2019 problems since 4/18/2019electrical system malfunctioning. Remote left in vehicle warning when no key in vehicle, rear view mirror overheating (over 110*) cellphone charging port overheating, blind spot detection malfunctioning, forward collision detection malfunctioning, navigation and iphone audio connections malfunctioning. Mirror was replaced once. Rear camera was replaced twice. This was after a gm service person was sent down to rotolo to look into it. Since then nothing has been repaired. Service reps keep saying they can't get it to duplicate the problems. We have video and photos of issues. Matt wolf was the gm investigator. He never returns calls/emails. Yesterday after several phone calls to different gm departments, i was informed he no longer works with the company. The last thing i was told was to wait for a call to bring the vehicle into rotolo so another gm service person would be sent. That was over 2 months ago. Since no one has called i scheduled another service for sat. Vehicle cannot be driven and has to sit parked. It is unsafe to drive. Problems ongoing since 4/2019.

The contact called on behalf of his wife who owns a 2019 chevrolet traverse. The contact stated that the third interior roof light remained on draining the battery. The vehicle was taken to (win chevrolet, 2201 223rd st, carson, ca 90810), on three separate occasions to be repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the battery was replaced and the light was rewired however, the repairs failed to fix the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,326.

On june 20, 2019, i bought a 2019 chevy traverse with the understanding that the vehicle was in good condition with no defects.on july the 18 we took vehicle to the service department, due to there was a very strong odor when inside the car. It was causing bloody noses and breathing issues for my family.the smell was so strong that it could be tasted.the dealership took about 15 to 20 minutes to diagnose car as nothing wrong with it. We took it home.on august 1, 2019, the vehicle starts going crazy with electrical issues.while my wife is driving with my kids the horn, lights, and emergency lights start turning on and off and there was a loud ugly sound from the engine.the car had to be parked to and i had to go drive car home due the unsafe conditions of vehicle.as i looked under the hood, i could smell a burning smell and smoke coming from the engine.so we took vehicle back to dealership.after being on the shop for about a week , we got our car back and according to dealership it was fixed, along with the smell they told us it was a rare situation but that we had mold and mildew coming out of the ac unit which was causing the odor and hence bloody nose and breathing issues. They also found that the battery was throwing sparks and was burning electrical wires in the engine.at this point we just wanted our car back.the following day my wife and kids were put in a dangerous situation due to defective car, while driving the traverse it turned off on them while on the highway.my wife and kids are traumatized and scared while being put in these dangerous situations.unfortunately, your vehicle has not performed well and is not safe even after it was made clear to us that it was safe and fixed.

When i shift to park, the system doesnā€™t recognize iā€™m in park and wonā€™t let me turn the car off. I have to jiggle the shift? and sometimes have to put it in a different gear before trying to put it in park again.

"shift to park!" keeps coming up on my dash, and sometimes nothing works.i get this message every time i park just about.

Check engine light came on. Diagnostics stated catalytic converter was the issue and needed to be replaced.. Vehicle with less than 15k miles and owned for about 14 months.

My vehicleis at 30,738 miles and recently i began smelling what i thought to be exhaust fumes inside the cabin of the vehicle. I also smelled it after the car was parked outside the vehicle, near the the hood of the car near the engine. I took it to the nearest repair shop and they said that the brazing/welding point on the fuel rail was faulty and the fuel injector had broken off and was spraying fuel all underneath the car. It was "two or three turns away from a catastrophic event".the car was had fuel sprayed all near the intake manifold and was getting dangerously close to the exhaust manifold. It was only a matter of time (minutes/hours) before the vehicle caught fire or exploded with the amount of loose fuel present and i have small children in car seats i would never have been able to get out of the car in time.i had the vehicle towed to a chevy dealership and they replaced the fuel rail and several other parts. And returned the vehicle to me. There were still fuel vapors coming into the cabin of the vehicle and near the hood of the engine. I took it back and the dealership said all of the insulation around/ in the engine was saturated in fuel still. So they washed the insulation and put it back in the vehicle. It still smells like fuel vapors in and around the vehicle.

I was driving vehicle and stopped at light.the car completely cut off.i had to put in park to restart the car.thats when the engine light came on.received an advanced diagnosis that stated issue with engine/tranmission service within one day.took car in 7/16 at 7:30 and got back that day stating that car transmission communication dropped.the very next day 7/17 am, same thing happened.took the car that afternoon back to dealer and it had been there since.they state they are waiting talk to gmc.nothing yet.

When braking to do a u-turn and not stopping the engine shuts off and doesn't come back on right away. And it almost caused me to get into an accident from a car from the other direction. We had this car for 3 months and it's happened about five times now.

While driving my 2019 traverse, when i aggressive breaking and doing a u-turn i cannot accelerate afterwards, when i push the gas pedal down to the floor it doesn't accelerate. I've been almost hit multiple times because vehicle will not accelerate after doing a u-turn. I have multiple vehicles and i keep forgetting about this dangerous defect when i'm driving it. Has happened since they own the car about eight times.

2019 traverse was traveling down road about one mile from starting location car shut off and all dashboard lights came on than noticed smoke from the engine compartment., flames shorty after. Fd was called and arrived and put out fire.a fluid trail was noticed behind car leading to our house (1 mile away).no issues with the car up to this point.car was towed and insurance called, notified gm the next day after seeing a recall on leaking transmission (this vin is not on that list).gm basically said that once we called the insurance company there is nothing they can do for us.insurance company (allstate) said they will look into this.car was a lease and we have no recourse.it seems fishy to me that some models have a recall and this appears to be some kind kind of leak from that area.if gm doesn't care how will they know if this recall needs to involve other models and vin's of this car.i understand that we leased the car so we lose and can't recoup anything nor will they work with us to lower the cost of a replacement.what if my young children were in the car or my mother in law who has a tough time getting in and out of the car, someone could of been injuried or worst.someone needs to caer about this.this happened in norwalk ct on east rocks rd 06851.sunny clear day car was moving forward when it lost power. No recent work on car, no accidente norwalk ct fire incident report 21-001007

My6 vehicle is taking 6 or 7 times to shut off when in park.it keeps saying "put vehicle in park" and it also says advisory problem.i called cioica chevrolet in princeton nj on april 5, 2021, and they said i have to wait for an appointment because they are all booked up and it will be a very long wait,i ask if o could drop it off and get a loaner car and they said no,i am hoping this dont get worse and then i willbe very mad, they also told me they about 9 traverse in with the same proble.please get the to take the in and give me a loaner

I was slowing down to make a turn and as i turned the steering wheel the vehicle get like it either locked up or went into neutral. I had no control over acceleration.

Vehicle felt like it slipped into neutral while driving.could not accelerate.strong chemical odor.

Engine warning light came on along with traction control needs serviced. This happened when i started the traverse and remained on. When i had a diagnostic test done the code read a code of 300. Dealer stated that code is for cylinder misfire not sure how many. Researched and found service update n192281810 that reads misfire due to carbon tracking released date of march 2019. It is the dealers responsibility to fix this during the service portion of the new vehicle limited warranty period. My vehicle is now past that and is misfiring and reading out this code. This should be a recall on all vehicles regardless of miles due to faulty coils, coil pack or spark plugs. In the above mentioned service update it states that this is an issue with several vehicles manufactured by gm. Ats, cts, camaro and traverse. When doing further research there is not a way to find out if dealer did the service when gm sent out the service update. I looked back at all my records for services that the dealer done since i purchased the vehicle and see no indication that this service was performed.

The automatic headlight system overrides manual mode.it will automatically turn on the high beams while driving in dark conditions but does not dim the lights in a timely manner when other traffic is present.this has the potential to blind oncoming traffic or annoy leading vehicles.

Turned on the car and a side detection system warning appeared on the dash warning me that the system was not working. Turned off the car and restarted it. Same warning. Blind spot system not working at all currently.

Transmission shudders when acceleratingbetween 20-35 mph.feels like transmission doesn't know what gear to be in.

I was parked at a store doing grocery pick up. The car was running, and when the clerk finished loading my trunk, i closed the trunk door, and the car would not shift into reverse for me to leave the parking spot. I ended up having to turn the car off and on again for it to work.

Cruising at freeway speed, press down on the gas pettal and trans up shifts and goes to a lower gear and jerks so hard it fills like you have hit from the rear. It did this 5 times.

When i put the stick shift in park, it signals the vehicle is not in park.the dealership said this is a common problem with the traverse.they put in a bra to help it stay in park, the bra failed and they adjusted it again.i can start and stop the car but can't turnthe car off.this happens in any environment,on a hill, flat landin/out of garage. Is tis dangerous to drive

When placing the car in park, a "shift into park" warning appears on the dashboard even though the vehicle is actually in park.the problem appears to be a shift relay that is not making contact with the metal tab that depresses the sensor telling the computer the vehicle is in fact in park.not thinking the car is in park can cause a driver to panic the car is going to roll into another car, fixed object or another person.this problem has been confirmed multiple times and there is currently a gm bulletin out on the problem.the fix is to replace the entire shift assembly at the owner's cost - $500.the only warning message received is '"shift into park".

I took my son to my work when we arrived i told my sons to take their seatbelts off.my son started screaming it's tightening it's tightening. With him being in a booster it pinned him he tried to wiggle out and got even more stuck i turned the car off to tried to remove and was unsuccessful it unhooked from the buckle but he was still strapped to the car. He started bleeding from his nose and mouth and said his shoulder hurts. I had another co worker try to help me out and we were unable to until i had to cut the seatbelt

Seats on2nd row seat belt get stuck around the recline lever. Car design does not allow to unlock the seatbelt.

The middle seat seatbelt got caught in the recline lever which caused the seatbelt to lock and there is know way of releasing it, making the seatbelt unusable.

We purchased this vehicle in june of 2019, and have had it at the dealership 4 times for an issue with the brakes.to this date they have not figured out what is causing it, but it causes the brake system to lose power making it difficult to brake.we were told by the dealer just to keep driving it until they figure out what is going on.

There are continuous defects and concern for safety regarding my 2019 chevy traverse. I purchased a new 2019 traverse redline on march 22, 2019 and the problems began within two weeks and less than 400 miles on the vehicle. I was driving my new vehicle on a residential road and began to slowly press the brake while approaching a stop sign when the 'service brake assist' alert appeared, the brakes made a grinding and clicking noise while shaking and felt like the brake pedal needed to be pushed all the way to the floor to stop. I brought the car in and the service department replaced a vacuum booster sensor which they said was faulty. Then two months later, with only 1800 miles on the vehicle, the same issue occurred again where the 'service brake assist' alert appeared, the brakes made the same noises and shaking. I immediately called the dealership to bring it in for service. During this second occurrence, the service department suggested it must have been a 'bad batch' of parts and offered to replace the sensor again. I returned to the dealership to pick up my vehicle and during the less than two mile drive home, the same issue occurred for the third time. I immediately returned to the dealership again and the service department said they didn't know what was causing the problem. After replacing the same part for a third time, the same issue occurred again.ultimately, the service technicians & engineer are unable to identify the root cause of the issue and merely suggested replacing the same part for the fourth time. While the service manager has offered to continually replace the same parts, they also are unable to identify the root cause and stated i need to continue driving the vehicle until it happens again and perhaps there will be a new part updated in the future.

When turning the steering wheel, there is a low whining sound.the dealer says this is "normal".the steering column should not make any noise.noises coming from a steering column usually indicate trouble.

Was driving on my way to work and when i turned into the parking lot of the school i heard a loud pop and it sounded like i had ran over a stick, however, when i got out and looked there was nothing under my car or in the parking lot around my car even. I took it to my local dealer and they found that the sway bar had broken in half. This is going to be a $2,000+ repair for a solid piece of metal that shouldn't snap into like a twig. This is very unsafe and could have been extremely dangerous if i had been driving anywhere else except for the school where i was going slow.

All 4 doors have become miss aligned 2 weeks after purchasing, traverse is a new car not preowned.there's a rubbing noise that comes from all doors while driving especially when car turns left or right at an angle.as days pass the rubbing noise from the doors has increased and can be heard while making a stop and when driving straight.

We have major paint chipping and peeling issues, the gear selector will not recognize park at times and we have had the catalytic converter replaced in the 2.5 years of owning (we are the only owners).

The edge of the secondary hood latch hand release lever is very sharp.i cut my finger trying to find the leaver to open the hood.this part should have smooth edges to prevent injury.

My vehicle was off, parked and locked.my car was on a somewhat flat surface and rolled into a tree.the same day i was able to drive my car approximately 3 miles from my home, park for approximately 4 hours and return home without keys. I have a police report and photos of the damage of my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2019 chevrolet traverse. The contact stated that the control arm failed and was replaced at felix chevrolet (3330 s figueroa st, los angeles, ca 9000, (213) 290-1925). Also, while driving, the vehicle made an abnormal loud noise coming from the front driver's side. When fueling the vehicle, the tank would not fill up. In addition, while the vehicle was in reverse, the brake pedal became difficult to depress. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer three times, but was not diagnosed. The failures recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The vin was unknown.

Shift to park alert and gear parking issue. This is a big issue with gm cars/suvs after i searched online. Looks like a manufacturer partsā€™ defects in gear box.

Shift to park issue- car will not shift even though it's in park.

After shifting my 2019 chevrolet traverse into park, an ā€œaction requiredā€¯ message appears on the dash that says, ā€œshift to parkā€¯. But, the car is already in park. Due to this action required message the car will not properly shut off.the only way i am able to shut the car off is by restarting it and shifting into reverse or drive, back to park. Sometimes it takes up to six times of going through this process to get the car to shut off. This issue has been going on for over a month.i arrived at the dealership for a scheduled oil change and the car did the same as i parked in their garage. I had a tech come out to see what was going on. He told me that chevrolet was aware that this was happening in at least 4 models, including my traverse. He immediately knew what the fix was. It was explained to me that there was a bulletin, but not a recall for this issue. The dealership said they could fix it for $140, and because i was 7,000 out of my bumper to bumper i had no choice but to pay the amount. If chevrolet knows this is an issue then they should be covering the cost to repair it.it is bulletin #19-na-206. They installed a sl-n-switch and an n-harness. They also removed transmission range selector and removed and replaced wiring harness on the selector to a newer design, thatā€™s supposed to stop the issue.

While trying to press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor, it hangs up mid-travel.applying additional pressure causes the pedal to travel all the way to the floor.the dealer says this is "normal".accelerator pedal travel should be smooth and linear; anything else is unacceptable.just ask toyota.

My vehicle has the fuel economy shutdown system and it's not working.it used to shot down while on a stop and then restart whenever the breaks were not engaged now it's not doing anything.the auto stop doesn't work it's stays on a high idle at all times

Driving on freeway all of a sudden sunroof just shattered
