The air bag is the issue it says it needs serviced not for sure if anything else is wrong with the vehicle

The incident happened early in the morning on the way to work.as i wasdriving, i came toa red light andmade my right hand turn like i always do. Istarted drivingdown the road, and my side airbags deployed on both sides. It scared me& my daughterso bad, andit caused me to swerve and hit the curb on the left side. Luckily there were no cars around me. I don't know why they deployed like they did. This is very dangerous!!it needs to be looked intoby the factory!!!!!

The vehicle lost control on black ice, the steering wheel and brakes locked up and the trailblazer hit a tree.the airbag never deployed.the vehicle's frame was bent. The suv was considered a total loss. The vehicle picked up a little more speed while on the ice, but no more than 30 mph.

I was driving the car and all of a sudden the side air bags just deployed for no reason without warning.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While driving approximately 65 mph, the curtain air bags deployed without warning. In addition, a white substance emitted into the interior of the vehicle when the failure occurred. A police report was not filed. The contact was not injured. The insurance company inspected the vehicle and indicated that it was a manufacturer failure that needed to be investigated and repaired. The insurance company refused to repair the air bag failure. The manufacturer indicated that there was no potential defect with the premature air bag deployment. The vehicle was parked at the contact's residence due to the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 127,000.

Engine dies while driving (losing propulsion, steering, brakes, etc.) and the key will not restart when turned forward (in neutral), while coasting, but will restart when the key is turned back and then forward again.in this case, coasting down and braking and turning right, possibly with right turn signal on.died right before starting to turn the steering wheel at about 15-20 mph.it was a clear dry 100 degree afternoon, on smooth pavement.we live on a bumpy dirt road that is just over a quarter of a mile long to reach our house.similar to other gm ignition key / no air bag recall programs for similar model year vehicles, such as the hhr. There is no recall, but how many people does this happen to? any deaths, yet?i don't believe the air bags may have worked, should we have been involved in an accident.there was no information shown in the diver information center display (dic) and there were warning lights on in the dashboard, to indicate that the power was on to the instrument cluster (ic), but that the motor was off.i could not select brakes and steering as being affected, but with no motor, there is no vacuum brake boosting going on, and no power steering either.

While driving on a straight section of a city street at only 30 mph both side curtain airbags deployed.i was startled but quickly looked around to see if i had hit anything or had been hit by another car.i was still moving forward and as soon as safely possible pulled the car over and got out to inspect what had happened.there was no collision with any other object or car and the airbags had deployed without warning.the airbag light had not been on and the car was driving normally.i called my insurance company and reported the incident and requested a tow.the insurance adjuster has since determined that since there has been no collision that the cause must be from a manufacturer's defect.the body shop has run the codes from the on board computer and they are b0051,b0058,b0062,b0065,b0070, and u7300.except for the u7300 the rest are stating the obvious that the airbags and seat belt tensioners have deployed.this is a very serious safety concern because if i had been driving at highway speeds on a section of road that was curved i do not think that i could have maintained control of the vehicle.

Yes i was driving on the 65 miles an hour in the passenger lane are carpool lane all the sudden for no reason both curtain airbags just deployed i had my head right next to knock me out cold i didn't proceed over and hit the wall 21 times just skip down in when i came to i thought i was i thought it and other vehicles likely that was not the case did cause some testa injury hurt might pull my car allegedly for my ribcage in got my neck in my head i see this is happened many times the 2008 but yet they keep saying there's no problem that even though it's a 2% lean and exposed the 16 for the role over to kick in that escape screwing everybody yeah the vehicles on the highway going straight no turns no bombs nothing just deployedi have video pictures of the wall it screwed up my rams and of course the 4 wheel drive messed up and show the back axle in the pumpkin so now thats whining so i know it's gonna fail soon power steering linkin truck never lead to drop another with silent at the great v6 in it now the front end steering all screwed up and i can see that it's happened many many times before

While driving straight at approximately 40 mph the side airbags deployed for no reason. As a result the seat belts no long function appropriately.

While i was driving down the road, both curtain side air bags deployed at same time.there were no other cars on the road, so i was able to stop the vehicle without causing an accident.the airbag on the driver side pushed me over so hard that it broke my center console.my lower back still hurts, but i am hoping the pain will go away.my left ear is still ringing and has not returned to normal hearing yet caused from the exploding noise from the airbag deployment.both of the front seat belts will not work and the dashboard has so many lights going off, i don't know if there are any other problems.the dealership that i purchased the vehicle from said the damages could run as much as $4000.00 which i do not have and my insurance doesn't cover this since there was no accident that caused this.the dealership service dept. Also said they have never heard of any vehicles doing this.after research, i see that this has happened alot.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the two side curtain air bags deployed without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages were approximately 50,000. The vin was unavailable.

Service air bag light is on.the code is:b0026 drivers side front deploy.

On a exit ramp (concrete) going about 30 mph when both side air bags unexpectedly deployed, brake pedal went all the way to the floor, no braking, pumping the brake corrected them and stopped the car. Brakes now seem normal. Both front seat belts are now locked.the car has no damage on the body or tires.g m has opened a case for us. Waiting their call back.

My airbag light came on.called the dealer.brought in the next couple of days.they scannned codes (our tps) light had been on.faulty pps air bag module $1150.00 to fix it. Told them go ahead. What could i do,this is thursday.there was no sensor to be found, they said gm had a back order of this part, went home (slowly) the dealer said they would call me on friday. Called the dealer said they located one in kentucky.i asked if they could get it overnight, to which they said no.my concern is if airbags are so important for 'safety" parts readily available parts should be within a 24hr range.saftety is my concern.told the dealship that we were very scared and unhaappy.maybe its time to look at other cars the gmc is not what they used to be.they should be held accountable.i hope no one gets hurt without an airbag.

My son was driving the 2008 chevrolet trailblazer lt when the following event occurred:while traveling at approx 35 mph on a straight, smooth city street the side curtain airbags deployed on my 2008 chevy trailblazer lt along with both front seat belts tightening and locking in place.there were no sudden abrupt maneuvers, no contact with any other objects ... Nothing!!!!it appears that this is a common problem with nothing being done about it ... Why???!!!

It bag for front driver light is on do not know why?there is some kind of electrical short and i've had it checked by two companies cannot find it i've had new battery, new alternator and still car stops workingi get car jumped and can put key in ignition to try to start car and when i shut car off too soon or why i try to start car it's not working and then i cannot get key out of the ignition this has happened at least 5 times car only has 84883 miles on it this happenes if front of house when i go to start car.i am listing last time this happened was today but the airbag for the drivers side is always on now for about 5 months

The front passenger airbag does not always engage with an adult of 120 pounds sitting in it. The problem is intermittent, and changes while driving. I was told by chevy and the dealership that i must sit properly in the seat. I always wear my seatbelt. I am 5'7' and weigh 120 lbs. If i cross my legs or put my feet close to the seat (rather than out in front of me) the airbag may or may not disengage. Often, the airbag does not engage even though i am sitting "properly." i was also told that they cannot correct this problem because they do not see a code. I should also sit closer to the front of the seat. This problem happened at about 32,000 miles and was fixed. Now i have about 62,000 miles on it and they cannot fix it. There is no recall or service bulletin, so apparently there is no problem.i feel this is a very dangerous situation and would like it looked into and resolved.thank you very much.

Driving at 45mph and hit a pothole, both side curtain air bags deployed. Took to dealer and the tech said there is no damage to tires, wheels or suspension so that just doesn't happen. It will have to be an insurance claim because you were driving at the time. Talked to the service manager and he said there are scuffs on the tires and rims and it was enough jolt to set off the airbags so they were working as designed. It will have to be an insurance claim.

I was driving down the road and it was raining pretty hard. I hit a pothole that was not visible and my airbags, only on the sides, deployed.

My daughter traveling at approximately 55 mph, saw car in front of her stopped at a stop light. She attempted to slam on the brakes, it felt as if she was not stopping at all. She hit the stopped car, pushed both of our cars through the intersection to the other side. Her airbag did not deploy, onstar did not contact her. The reason i bought this specific car was for the onstar in case of a collision or emergency. When i contacted onstar later, they reported they did not receive notification that a collision had occurred. I contacted gm to have brake, airbag, and onstar failure investigated. Received report from gm investigator stating no failure in airbag system, that the crash was not significant enough to cause airbag deployment and onstar notification. She was traveling 45 mph upon impact (per cdr). The car was totaled - over $13,000 damage. If a crash at 45 mph, rear-ending, car totaled does not deploy airbags it seems as though something is wrong.

During a left hand turn, the side airbags and front seatbeltdeployed for no reason. After a complete diagnostic by gm they concluded the computer sensed a rollover and the air bags were deployed on command. Problem is that the tilt of the vehicle did not reach or exceed 20 degrees (only 2 degrees) and therefore the system should not have deployed. This was verified by gm's own report yet they denied anything was wrong.

Was traveling 40 mph and was hit head on by another vehicle.none of the air bags deployed. Was on a city street with a 40 mph speed limit. Going straight.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While driving, there was an abnormal noise coming from the driver side air bag. The abnormal noise was persistent. The contact also stated that the battery failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer.while driving 35 mph, the contact was involved in a head-on crash.the entire front end of his vehicle was crushed and the insurance company declared the vehicle as destroyed.the seat belts properly restrained the contact, but the air bags failed to deploy.there were no injuries, but a police report was filed.the failure mileage was 6,500.

On may 24, 2012- i was traveling out our mile long gravel driveway.half way down the driveway the side curtain airbags on both sides deployed.there was no crash- they just came out.i contacted gm.they finally sent out a 3rd party investigator to investigate the vehicle.they determined that the vehicle had a roll-over event.the vehicle did not roll-over.gm told me that it was an insurance issue.insurance company says it is a mechanical issue and was gm's problem to fix.at this time the vehicle still sits with both side airbags out and the front driver and passenger seatbelts are locked in place.vehicle is not drivable.

Low beams stopped working, took it to the dealer who replaced both bulbs and it worked for a couple weeks now low beams randomly shut off while driving, especially at night. Airbag sensor keeps turning on and off and the horn stopped working. The airbag sensor seems to come on more on longer trips around the city with more turns.

The contact owned a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that he crashed and rear ended into another vehicle stopped at a stop light at 53 mph. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy as well as the seat belt pretensioner failed to engage. The contact sustained a severe concussion & almost bit his tongue off with his head smashing into the windshield. He also sustained cuts and bruises on his lower body and legs and a bruised neck. There was a passenger in the other vehicle that had to be transported to the hospital with injuries as well. The vehicle was totaled with the whole front smashed in up to the windshield. The dealer and manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 220,000. The vin was not available. *ln

I pressed on the brakes to avoid rear ending the vehicle in front of me. The vehicle would not slow down. I attempted to move into the right turn lane and the brakes still did not engage. I lost control of the vehicle, traveling several yards until the vehicle hit a tree. The airbag never deployed and onstar did not activate.

The contact rented a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While driving between 20-30 mph, the vehicle veered to the left and the front and rear driver side tires crashed into the median.as a result, the side curtain air bags deployed.the contact stated that she was unsure what repairs were made and the manufacturer was unable to diagnose the failure.the current and failure mileages were 263.updated 01-29-08.updated

This complaint is in conjunction with my false and delayed side curtain airbag deployment, report date ofmarch 25, 2009. I just discovered that both front seat belt systems must be replaced. The drivers side seat belt is limp. The passenger side seat belt is so tight it not only broke top of the belt housing on top of the seat (pieces), the belt is so tight it is deforming the seat. I cant imagine what this would have done to a passenger, had i have had one in that seat.

Side window airbag deployment, deployed virtually seconds after i made a sudden abrupt maneuver (in avoidance of another vehicle). I was normally proceeding straight down the roadway at the time of deployment. The passenger airbag deployed rapidly and at the same time the drivers side deployed very slowly as if in slow motion. In an attempt to see to turn left i contacted a curb and resulting in a flat tire (right front). These air bags should not have deployed and especially moments after my maneuver. G.m. Has concluded that i experienced a near rollover situation, and that all sensors functioned normally. G.m. Has declined any assistance on the airbag and headliner (as a result of deployment) replacement, that is the only existing damage to the vehicle with 1066 miles on it. The vehicle is sitting at the dealer with its estimate of $4000.00 to reset all. I am sure that there is a high possibility that this will re-occur. Nobody can or will answer or address my questions and concerns that there is something wrong with the system in this vehicle that, not only erroneously activated, but substantially late in the mater of any sudden movement. I am considering canceling my extended warranty as i may not own this vehicle through the course of its manufacturers warranty as a result of this unnerving experience.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer.while driving approximately 20 mph, the side window curtain air bags spontaneously deployed.the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure, but hypothesized that the contact must have driven over something in the road or was driving on two wheels.there was no physical damage to the vehicle and no indicators of a rollover or a crash.she called the manufacturer and they referred her back to the dealer.the dealer still has possession of the vehicle.the failure and current mileages were 800.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, there was a burning odor coming form the vehicle. The contact also stated that while driving, the driver's side window and door lock lost power causing the door to be unable to lock. The contact also stated that the headlights dimmed at night. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the window motor switch, the hvac temperature control motor, and the rear locking assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and proposed a discount toward a new vehicle. The failure mileage was 50,000. ....updated 04/15/16

In the fall of 2012, i had to replace an ignition switch in my trailblazer at approx. 90,000 miles. Then, in july of 2013, we were driving on interstate 95 in ct, heavy traffic, high speeds, and all of a sudden my car just died. I, fortunately, was in the right hand lane and was able to drift off the road. A ct trooper sat behind us for an hour while we waited for aaa. It was a sunday. We were towed to a chevrolet dealer in old saysbrook, essex ct. Had to spend the night in a hotel and that monday, the dealer put in another ignition switch. My mileage was a little over 100,000. Have all the documentation. Have you looked into ignition switch failure in trailblazers? is my car safe to drive? would appreciate a response.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While the vehicle was parked, the front passenger side window erroneously rolled down and an electrical burning odor was present inside the vehicle. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the window switch was charred and melted. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 139,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the driver side door window would not close and the door locks randomly locked and unlocked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical door mechanism was faulty and needed to be replaced. In addition, a burning odor was present inside the vehicle coming from the driver side dual climate control. The mechanic diagnosed that the temperature actuator was inoperable. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The contact also indicated that the liftgate would not open. The failure mileage was 35,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the ignition was turned to the on position and there was smoke coming from the hood without warning. The contact turned the ignition back to the off position and opened the hood and discovered the head lamp driving module relay on fire. The contact extinguished the fire. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was taken dealer where it was diagnosed that the accessory board failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,471.

On the 2008 trailblazer, had two problems with the ignition switch.in april 2011 the tumbler mechanism portion of the ignition switch failed at approximately 27,225 miles and was replace under warranty.in may 2014 had difficulty starting the vehicle when the ignition switch was in the start position.was able to start the vehicle and drive to the chevrolet dealership.while waiting for the service technician, i moved the tilt steering wheel to a different position and the vehicle stopped running.this would have been an extremely dangerous situation under normal driving conditions.it was diagnosed that the electrical portion of the ignition switch had failed.the ignition switch was replaced.the approximate mileage was 71878.

I've noticed several times that my vehicle will turn on when i place the ignition key into the "on" position right before i turn the key all the way to start it.i'm not sure if it was due to the cold weather or not.also, my engine light is always on and i had it tested which came back as an emissions control problem. Which could be the gas cap i haven't paid to fix yet.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer.the contact stated that the key failed to turn in the ignition and the vehicle could not be started. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred only once. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 74,316 and the current mileage was 81,447.

I wasdriving down the highway and my lights just went off.the interior lights were on but the headlights went out.i stopped the car, turned it off, waited a few minutes and turned it back on.the lights did not come back on.the high beam lights still worked and i drove home with my brights on.when i got home and turned off the car i tried them again and this time they came on normally.this is the third time this has happened at night that they just went off.

Incident with my 2008 chevy trailblazerincident reported on sept. 9 at 9:30pm which occurred as i was driving home from a cubscouts meeting, with my 2 sons in the vehicle.as i was driving home around 845pm home from our methodist church, which is located about .3 mile from my house.the lights on the dashboard and the headlights were not working all of a sudden and i could smell something burning as i a driving.the time of the day was dusk and starting to get dark but a clear sunny day before this occurred. My oldest son, who is 9, said what is that smell and then my other son, who is 4 years old also said the same thing.i drove slowly down the hill as this occurred off the road and the red light near our subdivision entrance.i live in hixson tn.i also noticed there was black smoke coming from under the hood area near the fuse box area on the drivers side vehicle.i got home within5 minutes of this happening and immediately pulled my car into my drive way and told both my boys to get out of the car.i pulled the hood release under the steering wheel and went to lift the hood and could see black smoke was coming from the fuse box area.i popped the end clips that keeps the fuse box in place and opened the fuse box. When i did this, there was a spark of flame and smoke that put itself out when i lifted the lid off the fuse box and you can see what happened(photo attached for you to see).you can see there is significant damage to many fuses that control the electronics in the vehicle. I have not driven this vehicle since this occurred as the person i talked to instructed me not to move the vehicle. I would hate to get legal counsel involved and the national safety and transportation commission involved and would hope chevy would like to get this resolved.

While driving both of my headlights stopped working. This effected both daytime running lights and low beams. High beams are still operational. Researching the issue easily shows that the issue is a faulty headlight relay. I even tried to replace both bulbs and checked all fuses to verify. I contacted the service department of frei chevrolet in marquette michigan and they refused to even tell me if they had the parts in stock to resolve the issue. This will be the last time that i deal with them.

I have had my 2008 trailblaer for a year now. I have been having major electrical issues for the past few months including my battery light and other popping up ramdonly and my truck not wanting to drive or run right. Now my exhaust manifold is completely cracked thru,

On )9/16/15, i was driving my 2008 chev trailblazer on the highway at 55mph and the ignition switch failed and the the vehicle rolled to a stop. It would not start again and was towed by glenn's towing servicefaribault mn 55021 to harry brown's service center faribault mn 55021. They replaced the ignition switch and charged $389.25. I'm concerned if they put in the same switchwith a defect or one that has been improved to eliminate the defect as chevrolet has been recalling ignition switches on other vehicles but not the trailblazer. I was lucky i didn't get hit when the truck stopped.

The ignition switch has been acting like the ones that are recalled with the 05 - 07 model years. Our vehicle when you turn the ignition on it acts like its dead, even with no key in ignition you can turn switch a little and the gear selector light comes on as well as the battery light, and we have had two dead batteries from this.

Can turn over but doesnt start have to keep playing with key untill it starts and will once in awhile just lose power while driving sometimes can put in neutral and will start back up but sometimes have to pull over to wait and restart cant drive on free way afraid it will die out in traffic

Takata recall,my 2008 chevy trailblazer has 110,000 miles on it and for the past year it seems that i've been having electrical problems.this problem have been going on for about 6 month.every now and then my car wont start and i haveto get a boost off to get it started again. I took my suv to get the battery and alternator checked and they said everything looked great. Then afterthat i noticed that my rear brake lights were going haywire with blinking lights going on and off and the car was not on.after i noticed the blinking lights, i went to try to start the car and it was dead. Also, my frontpassenger door motor went out , so the window wont go up or down.. This is very frustrating can someone please tellme if there are recalls on any of these problems.

I was driving down a state highway with my cruise control set at 57 mph and all of the sudden all of the lights came on in the console.my on star did not work, nor did the radio or anything electrical in my vehicle.my vehicle was still running, but none of the gauges, lights, windows, etc. Were working.i pulled to the side of the road and then drove it to the dealership.the dealership kept the vehicle for 3 weeks and were not able to diagnose nor fix the problem.all of the sudden 3 weeks later they got into the vehicle and the problem had resolved itself.

While sitting theparked vehicle, with the key in ignition in the on position but engine off the dash began to pour smoke into the vehicle. Upon inspecting under the hood there were burned and melted wires leading to fuse box. Electrical fire occurred.

I was just sitting in a drive thru and my passenger side window just started smoking and now it will not go down.

My son and i were driving 65 mph on the interstate.... Car just died, no warning. I had to veer suddenly to the right to make the ramp or take a chance on the shoulder. Since this first time the car has also not wanted to start. I thought it had to do with the alarm locking me out , but it appears it is the ignition switch. The car has on multiply time died while i was driving. I've tried reaching out to chevy and gm but, each is wanting me to pay for a diagnostic. I do not have the money to spend on this. I don't want to die because i can't afford to pay for their faulty ignition. Please help us.

Electrical power distribution box power wiring/ribbon that is under left rear seat overheated and caught papers inside car on fire and caught entire car on fire from overheated copper ribbon that failed to trip circuit breaker to stop wiring ribbon overheating.this defect is common and when the manufacturer changed from wires to copper ribbon foil it created a means for wiring/ribbon overheating and source of fire to begin.

I recently started having problems, one being my brake lights don't always work. I took it to a local chevy dealer and was told it all had to do with an electrical problem as is impossible to fix. Shouldn't my vehicle be recalled?i'm a safe driver and it's a bit upsetting knowing that i don't know if and when my break lights are working. Especially when i have small children with me.we recently moved, as my husband was following me, he was the one that noticed my brake lights weren't working.

Repeated issue.smell of smoke/burning triggers dash warning signals.same dash warning signals come on without smell of smoke/burning.cycle repeats itself without pattern, and includes during 4 wheel use. Vehicle taken to multiple chevrolet dealerships for service (utah, northcarolina and washington) with the dash warning lights on.utah and nc claim unable to replicate event or identify problem, so listed as unknown without correction.gmc executive office interdiction resulted in replacement of stereo even though dash light indicate powertrain & electrical.stereo broke 2 mos later. Gmeo and wa identified fuse issue related to 4 wheel drive, but unable to replicate smoke/burning before claiming issue resolved. Dash warning lights constantly come on and off indicating problem with powertrain/electrical.gmeo closed case as resolved.

The contact also stated that the brake light was not functioning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. The dealer stated that they replaced a fuse in the fuse box. The failure continued. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they would contact her at a later date. 2008 chevrolet trailblazer failure to start after a failure in engine run during entry to highway.

While driving low beam lights shut off while driving at night.will not come on now!this is a very dangerous situation for safety reasons.i am 73 years old and afraid to drive at night and also daytime with no daytime running lights.please advise if there is a recallor solution so i can have dealer get it fixed.loyal chevrolet customer for 50 years that needsdesperate help.thank you!## vin passed ## chevy trailblazer lt2 2008##

My fan blower quit working on some settings (0-5 available, only 1,2, and 3 make fan work). I bought a new blower resistor to replace it, and when i tried to disconnect the old one, i discovered what appeared to be an electrical fire had fused the harness to the resistor. I was able to break the harness away from the resistor, but two of the connectors on the harness are blackened, and the harness is partially melted away. When i hooked up the new resistor, 1,2,3, and 5 work, but 4 is still not operational. I believe 4 is not operational due to charring or melted plastic preventing connection from being made to one or both of the two charred connectors.first date of problem is estimated to be winter 2012, though it may have been a year or two earlier. My replacement of the resistor was 18 oct 2014.

We purchased a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer in september 2008.the day we drove it home the entire electrical system shut down.the lights, locks, blinkers, and all gauges were not working.the vehicle was taken back to the chevrolet dealer and the onstar module was replaced. A few months later the electrical system failed again, this has happened 3 more times since purchasing the vehicle 3 years ago.the vehicle has also had the check engine and stabilitracklights turn on and off numeroustimes...sometimes for a day or two, sometimes for a week.the vehicle has been in the shop more than 13 times in 3 years for electrical related problems, several electrical modules have been replaced.my grandmother has the same vehicle and has had the same type of problems with the electrical system.

I bought this vehicle back in september 2009. Ever since i bought the vehicle i have had problems with the traction control lights coming on for no apparent reason. This happens when its hot and cold, dry or wet. Just starting the engine makes then come on. I have been back to the dealer for 2 years now for the same problem and they tell me that they don't know why it is happening and can't fix it. My vehicle is now out of warranty and will never be fixed.?

Rear hatch license plate lamps blowing out, flickering also hatch lock clicks repeatedly, without touching electric lock buttons. When opening the hatch the license lights go on/off on/off. The hatch lock clicks repeatedly. The hatch wire harness covered with a 'rubber boot/sleeve', when moved causes lock clicking and plate lights flickering.the hatch lock intermittently locks but will not unlock. Vehicle usually parked. Obviously unable to see license lamps when in motion.

The driver door module does not work when it rains.i took this to a dealer and after they tested it told me it needed to be replaced $500. For part plus labor that they could not quote.i checked on line to find out if gm had recall on these vehicles and found that they did 2004 - 2007 mine is a 2008 experiences the exact issues that the others had but gm can't help mebecause my vin # is not listed.why did gm not try to help me with this issue?when over 184,000 vehicles where recalled for this issue.what do i need to do to see if i can get help to replace this?i wouldn't ask but i feel its only right to replace it after all those vehicles where recalled and mine is doing the exact same thing.it happens every time it rains apparently it leaks in the door some how and it gets wet and want work it controls seat heat, all door locks and windows and driver window. I purchased this vehicle used in 2014 and it has done it every since i have owned it by the time it gets back to the dealer its working again.usuallya day or so and it will work. This time its not working

Drivers side door electrical system not working properly creating difficult problems.

The electronic control module "fried" and caused the brakes to "fail" - specifically, the brake pedal needed to be pressed to the floor although it had little effect.this sounds very much like the failure seen in the recall #3: 2014 chevrolet malibu.the ecm failure also caused a short in the airbag sensor. (a repair was done on the brakes - but i am not sure it was needed except for the ecm problem based upon the description of the malibu recall).the dot reference for this is: 656599.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contactstated the voltage regulator was corroded and caused thebrake light unit on the rear driver's side to also corrode. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the sockets were replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer where the alternator was replaced. The failure continued. The vehicle was then taken to a third dealer where it was awaiting repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure when the contact notified them to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 6,000 and the current mileage was 50,000.

Water got on the window switches because the drivers window was left open a little during a rain storm, and none of the windows or door lock switches on the drivers door worked for 2 days. I know that there's a re-call for 2006 & 2007 model years for the same reason, so why not on the 2008?

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the front driver's side electric panel for the windows was not fully functioning. The failure recurred intermittently. The rear windows would electronically open but when attempting to close the windows from the front drivers side main electric panel, it would require the contact to manually close the windows. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102000.

While entering a gas station the vehicle in front of me slammed on the brakes. This was done because the gm at the pump had it's backup lights on and wasn't even backing up. What's really disturbing is the fact people will start ta ignore these in dark or rainy parking lots and potentially get run over. Shouldn't backup lights only be used for backing up? this looks like a problem with the whole vehicle lineup.

Purchased this vehicle from a dealer. The next day the truck was dead. It has since had the battery replaced 3 times. The exhaust manifold cracked at 82,000. The number 4 position on the blower does not work. The stabiltrak lights come on for no reason and go off for no reason. With all of the complaints, something should be done.

I had to replace the driver side window motor at about 30,000 miles and now the passenger side motor is acting up and will probably have to be replaced - i am currently at 38000 miles.seeing so many other complaints, including vehicle door fires, this should be recalled.

My window in the rear passenger side malfunctioning.... It would let down on it's own.this happens when my vehicle in drive and when park.

Driver door lost power not working at all, all other functions (passenger, rear, and trunk locking functions work) there was a recall on this same function for 2006-2007 but 2008 was not include. The corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board. A power short in door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or become inoperative. The short cause overhearing, which could melt components of the door module, producing odor, smoke, or a fire. After review with my service provider this is same problem with the pass recall. Chevrolet recall does not go far enough to include all model year's after 2007 which also be checked for older parts place in newer models.

While driving on a steep downhill curvy mountain pass, the key got jerked into the off position. Luckily i quickly restarted the engine. This is very dangerous on roads with a sharp incline and/or decline as one would need to be able to brake and steer the car into a safe area.

On starting vehicle all warning lights came on. Stopped engine and restarted and this time battery light, abs, seat belt warning and parking brake light stayed on. Windows would not work along withpower locks, radio, onstar, and lights.

I bought this 08 chevy trailblazer new 9-30-08.from the date i bought it i noticed the charging hand on the instrument panelshows the battery not charging about 50% of the time, the owners manual says this is a fuel saving feature .when the battery is fully charged the alternator quits charging.after approximately 1 month of driving this veh.i noticed when it quit fully charging the power windows would not roll but 1/3rd of the way up,the veh.can't be driven in the rain due to the wipers barely moving, the bose stereo system loses power and malfunctions, and im sure other things don't function properly, the transmission malfunctions and wont shift like it is designed to do,the miles per gallon gauge resets itself while the veh.is moving. I have had the veh.to the local chevy dealer and they don't have a clue to why it is doing this,i think if your driving on a major highway and run into a hard rainstorm you would be lucky to get off the highway before causing a major accident due to the wipers not working properly,,i experienced the situation once but was lucky traffic was light. Am taking the veh.to another dealer this week to see if they can fix the problem. The wipers not working properly is an extremely dangerous problem.

The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the cruise control started to drop, the engine started to lose power, and all the warning lights on the instrument panel illuminated. The contact coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the failure recurred twice. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and had informed the contact that there were no open recalls. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated when the brakes were applied the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the ignition switch was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

After stopping at a stop sign the vehicle stopped dead in the intersection.would not restart, could not be steered as there was no power at all.vehicle was towed to dealership where a "new" ignition switch was installed.but no new shorter key with a hole in it was given to me.how can i be sure the new switch will not malfunction.this is exactly what has happened to the recalled vehicles.if i had gone two blocks further it would have been in a busy major highway intersection.so far no response from complaints to various gm sources.

Since owning the vehicle; purchased used in 2005 from a dealer; we have had to replace the ignition switch twice.called to report problem to chevrolet since all the news of ignition switches; they didn't seem concerned or interested since this vehicle was not listed on the recall list.it has left me stranded twice and has cost me approx. $400.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the fuse box was burnt out and an abnormal odor was present in the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000.

My 2008 trailblazer powers down and traction control light comeson acceleration i feel this is dangerous to cars behind me

While turning left at low speeds stabilitrak activates shutting power off to the wheels once you release gas petal for 5-10 seconds stabilitrak will return to normal and allow power back to wheels. This is a serious safety issue because if you pull out on the highway or any street and you loose power, you could get hit

Vehicles stabilitrac light comes on constantly. Repair listed for code is not the problem. Had same issue with my 2006 trailblazer. Light comes on sporadically, even when backing out of my driveway at low rate of speed.

Stabilitrak lights on dash come on as i am leaving my driveway in the mornings and when i leave work in the evenings.this occurs when the steering wheel is turned to the right.they usually go off after stopping and restarting the vehicle.sometimes they come on again within minutes.this problem is becoming more frequent and the lights are coming on and staying on more frequently.when i got my transmission serviced last week the mechanic pulled the code on it and it showed to be the steering wheel angle position sensor.i have found multiple instances of this same problem in automotive forums via google and it seems to be a common problem in this year model.

While driving multiple times reaching a right hand curve at highway speeds the electronic stability control light flashes and the anti-lock brakes simultaneously engage multiple times sometimes bad enough to cause a wheel to slip.dealer has been in touch multiple times with gm about the problem and claim they cant figure out what's wrong.happens multiple times per week.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the traction control and the low air pressure sensor lights illuminated. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the failure occurred although the air pressure in the tires was normal and the vehicle was not experiencing a traction control issue. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.updated 4/16/15

While turning around in a cul de sac one morning that was on a steep slope i heard a popping sound and my steering wheel jerked and the brake pedal depressed almost to the floor in three stages like it was catching on something and then would release and the stability control lights came on.once i got the vehicle straightened out to go down the steep hill it felt like it does when a rotor gets warped.once i got close to the bottom i turned onto a side street that was flat and i stopped and put it in park and turned the engine off.when i started it back up the lights were off and the brakes and steering returned to normal.the lights coming on has been a problem since i purchased the vehicle (listed in another complaint to follow).

Airbag light came on and had a bad impact sensor. Had to replaceto pass inspection. Suv only 6 years old.stability control light comes on every time i hit a bump in the road.

While driving the 2008 trailblazer i started to experience a loss of brake pedal with the travel going all of the way to the floor, with hardly any braking function or stopping action. It was intermittent and would not happen more then once or twice at first. Then when i was in a parking lot, the brakes failed again and i hit a cement divider damaging the bumper of the vehicle. You would be driving the vehicle, and step on the brakes as you would be coasting into or coming up to a stop. You would let up on the pedal then hit it again, the 2nd time loosing all brake pressure and function. I had to take the vehicle into the gm dealership for service. There were no fluid leaks, or any type of brake rotor damage. The dealership came back saying that the master cylinder had failed on the vehicle. This is on a chevrolet truck, 4x4 that is supposed to be heavy duty off road capable package. General motors would not cover the repair under any type of warranty claim. The repair cost me close to $800, and loss of vehicle use, along with the bumper damage. I have owned over a dozen general motors vehicles to date over a 30 year period. I have never, ever had a master cylinder fail on any of them. This is a poor quality controlled component and i want g.m. To compensate me for the repairs and damages. I have raised this issue through the general motors customer service line, and they refuse to cover the repairs.

Was driving and suddenly the exhaust got real loud. Took it to repair facility and they said that the exhaust manifold had cracked. Gm knows this is a bad part , and a safety part, but they only advanced the warranty 20,000 miles. I have never had an exhaust manifold crack on any vehicle, besides one that is 6 years old.

Seems to be a lot of others with this problem. Gm should consider a recall.people don't have &500-$600 laying around. And there are many with same year make and around same mileage with this problem.

Exhaust manifold cracked and had to be replaced.

Started vec. In the morning. Exhaust very loud. Checked exhaust system found manifold cracked. Got on on star acct...stated extended coverage had expired. Found outspecial coverage gm bull. #11150. Contacted dealer. Stated not covered due to out of mileage range of 120000 limit. Said to take to serv. Mgr and said out of his hands. Contacted gm and now they are working with me to help resolve issue. Told gm i have never recv. Any info about this problem when i bought this trailblazer. Will fumes enterpass. Area. Don't know at this point. Safety issue...yes, recall issue...yes, design issue...yes.

The exhaust manifold in my 2008 chevy trailblazer has broken now three times. The chevy dealer has changed the manifold twice for free but now they no longer want to pay for it plus i asked if they have made a change to the cast iron manifold and they tell me the part number changed in 2011 but my failures have occurred since then so i know the replacement manifold i will have the same problem. Exhaust fumes in winter enter the cabin.

Exhaust manifold is cracked,gm knows there are issues with these but yet wont fix it

Numerous times i have driven this vehicle and it continues to do the same thing when i reach speeds of about 35 to 40 mph it loses power, the tach. Even declines in it's reading. It's like someone is behind me with a rope, and stepping on their brakes, slowing me down. This happens when i'm going straight down a street, making no turns, and let it basically idle roll down the street. All the while, it is in gear, engine running, and in motion on a city street

2008 chevrolet trailblazer failure to start after a failure in engine run during entry to highway.

With only 55,000 miles, the exhaust manifold cracked.seeing all of the complaints online and talking to my mechanic, this seems to be a default part.chevy should be recalling these.my mechanic had to order the part through the dealer and they had the replacement manifold in stock.exhaust manifolds are not normally stock items unless there is a real high need to replace them.......

Engine light illuminated with error code p0449(evaporative emmision system vent/valve solenoid circuit.

The gm ls2 engine installed in the trailblazer ss models has a known oiling issue which causes the engine to be starved for oil and thus, spins a rod bearing.being that the trailblazer ss is a limited production vehicle, gm hasn't lifted a finger to recall or repair this design flaw.the problem only exists in the trailblazer ss (not corvette or gto to my knowledge) due to a problem with the oil pan.

2008 chevrolet trailblazer ls with 63,000 miles developed a cracked exhaust manifold. I have read several similar incidents online. Gm should look into a recall.

2008 trailblazer with a cracked exhaust manifold.

Hello, i'm sure you've heard many complaints of cracked exhaust manifold on gmc suv's.i have one and have been reading way too many posts online about the same issue.this is caused by what 2 mechanics say is a bad design and cheap parts.for a $30+ truck, this is not acceptable.i have a 2008 trailblazer lt, with 50k miles.the cost to fix is averaged at around $600-$700!!!!!many have to try and tackle this project on their own since that type of money isn't really just laying around for most people and what happens is broken bolts and then a whole separate issue.also been problems with o2 sensors because of the leak, seems this problem can lead to many other problems if not fixed immediately.i truly believe that this problem is a factory/manufacturer defect and should be taken care of, at no cost to me or anyone else for that matter.or i should be reimbursed for money i need to spend toward fixing it since i can't afford to not have it in driving condition.prompt action to this complaint would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.still a true gm believer!!!! but could really use some help here as many others do.

2008 chevy trailblazer 42,000 miles had to have the manifold replaced as the entire manifold was split around the entire pipe.

While driving home at approximately 9:30pm, my eighteen year old daughter experienced the headlights failing to come on after dark with the automatic headlight-on feature. She turned on the headlights manually, and the low beams still were not working, but all driving lights and high beam headlights were working. I assumed that the bulbs were burned out, so replaced both the driver and passenger side bulbs. The low beam headlights still failed to come on either automatically or manually. I googled the problem, and multiple people have reported this exact same problem, and some stated that there was a recall due to this problem. I am unable to find either a recall or a service bulletin for this issue.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While driving approximately 30 mph, the low beams failed to illuminate. The failure was recurring. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that upon entering and starting the vehicle, the headlights failed to operate within minutes of starting the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently and was getting progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, however the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the headlight driver module (hdm) failed to function properly, which prevented the low beam headlights from illuminating when needed. Jackson chevrolet (660 s main st, middletown, ct 06457, (860) 316-4063) diagnosed that the hdm relay switch needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as listed in nhtsa action number: rq17002 (exterior lighting). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle year was not included in manufacturer recall number: 14291. The failure mileage was not available.

Dim headlights quit working while driving at night. Bright lights worked, but no dims.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, both front headlights shut off and the high beam lights had to be utilized. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000 and the current mileage was 65,000.

Low beam lights went out.we replaced bulbs, they worked for a short time.low beams went out two or three days later.went to local garage, they replaced wire from battery to lights as they were not getting any power.lights worked for two or three days.trailblazer was in shop for a week, unable to find issue.called chevrolet dealership, at first they thought it was a 2007 which has a recall for the issue.found it was a 2008, no recall.found bad/burnt/exploded fuse labeled 15016745.have found multiple other people with same issue online.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the low beam highlights failed to activate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

I was driving the trailblazer went to put gas in it at qt and filled the car full of 87. Went to start the car and the engine light came on and the gas gauge is at empty and the light is on. This happens every time the car is turned on thier is nothing wrong with the car motor is fine not running hot or anything oil is fine.

For three weeks my fuel light denotes that i am on empty.i thought that i had forgotten to get some gas.but when i started to pay attention to the gas light, i noticed that, even when i filled up the gas tank, i was still getting that ringing sound that denotes 'empty'.i took my car to the dealership and they said that they would charge me about $460 to fix the problem, that an awful lot of money for a fuel light.what's up with this?

My blazer also shows that there is no fuel, even though i just filled up!i would like to know what the problem is?

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the fuel tank leaked fuel and the fuel cap indicator light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who cramped the tank cap, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000. .....updated 02/11/16

The fuel gauge is fluctuating from full to empty and the empty light comes on. It has occurred a few times now over the last few weeks. The issue has the potential to cause a stall condition, if the vehicle runs out of gas unknowingly due to this inaccurate gauge condition. I have been able to research some documented evidence of this known issue on nhtsa, but have not found any solution being offered by gm.

The check engine light came on, my gas tank needle went down to empty on a full tank of gas and will not come back up, and it stalls. While i was driving.

Smelled gas odor from rear of vehicle. Crawled under and found gas tank leak at the connection of filler pipe to tank/check valve. Understand this was known defect on earlier years and tanks wer covered by a special coverage plan 14423. Any extensions for later (2008) model years?

My 2008 trailblazer is having a rough idling issue.. When i first start my vehicle itdoes not want to keep running.it doesnt want to move either.it is the throttle position sensor and it cost 300.00 to buy the part

While driving on highway, stopped at a light, i went to accelerate and truck lurched forward, made a loud bang and would not engage. The engine whines when accelerator is pressed, but no movement.also, vehicle would roll back without the emergency brake on. There were zero warnings prior to complete failure of truck. Contacted gm and chevy, and was offered no help, until out of pocket diagnostics are completed at a gm/chevy dealer (and at this point since vehicle is out of warranty, owner was told that help from gm is not guaranteed). Truck is at a private shop, preliminary findings are that the front differential is damaged. The power output shaft and spline is stripped, the cause is vehicle (drivetrain) design does not allow engine oil to get to these components. The parts become dry and brittle, which is why the gears are stripped and failure occurred. This is not an owner maintenance issue, but a complete design flaw. These components should be encased and be getting lubricated from the engine oil.further findings will be reported.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer 4wd. While driving approximately 30 mph during inclement weather, the stabilitrak service light came on the dashboard.she stated that the stabilitrak does not work while driving over an ice patch. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the failure who reset the light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer at least seven times for the failure; however, the failure continued to occur. The vehicle was not repaired for the failure. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle would shift from two wheel to four wheel drive low. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they reset the light.over a two year period, the vehicle was taken back and forth to the dealer and eventually the dealer replaced the transfer case. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000 and the current mileage was 70,000.

Leaving my place of employment, i made a left turn on to the road. While in the turn, my suv began to stall.the engine malfunction indicator lamp came on. I managed to coast on to someone's property. I turned the engine off and sat there for approximately 15 minutes. Then, i restarted the engine and managed to get home. I used a scanner to get the code for the possible malfunction. The malfunction was listed as p2135, which read, in part "throttle/pedal position sensor/switch a/b voltage correlation". This same problem was cited in nhtsa: action number: 10047220 service bulletin number: 340852., for the model year 2008. However, the dealership and gm, have stated that my vehicle is not covered. This is a great source of frustration. With the hundred of thousand of vehicles that has been recalled by gm for a multitude of defects, somehow the model year 2008, is a model of perfection. Fortunate for me, that i was not on the freeway when my vehicle began to loose power.

2008 trailblazer shakes front end at highway speed, and transmission bogs down traveling normal speed as well.

Rented 2009 chevrolet trailblazer suv from national car rental on 8/31/08 with 436 miles on odometer.drove approx 800 miles over a period of 7 days.on 9/6/08, while driving on i-75 southbound at 70mph, vehicle shifted itself into 3rd gear, would not go into 4th or overdrive.rpm's at 70 mph were approx 3,500.pulled off road at interstate exit, transmission made a "clunk", jolting me and my wife rather intensely.topped off the fuel, quite gingerly began our trip again. As vehicle reached 45-50mph, it downshifted itself into 3rd gear, jumping the rpm's and causing the vehicle to lurch harshly.called national, requested they "talk us in" to saginaw, mi office for vehicle exchange.national rep told me she "could not read a map" and "can't tell what exit you should take to get here". We once again pulled off the road at an exit, slowed to a stop, put vehicle in park while attempting to locate a national office. While on "hold" with national's roadside assistance dept., decided to try to get on the road again.reached 40mph on i-75, when transmission completely failed. Motor revved when throttle depressed, but no forward motion occurred.pulled off in emergency lane (narrow, next to a steep ditch), and were stuck there for nearly two hours while national performed a "tow-exchange".eventually, another vehicle was brought out, but not until after we were stuck with huge semi tractors running 80mph past us for two hours, and having no means of shelter from the potential of becoming "roadkill"!!failure of transmission was unprecedented. Vehicle drove normally until it would not shift into 4th / overdrive.failure was progressive and severe thereafter.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact was exiting the vehicle with the engine off and the vehicle independently began rolling backward. The driver's door knocked her down and she suffered minor injuries. The vehicle continued to roll into the street without incident. The contact did not take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileages were 26,000.

I was driving down the road and it was raining pretty hard. I hit a pothole that was not visible and my airbags, only on the sides, deployed.

*ln

Why???!!!

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. When the contact attempted to fasten the front driver's side seat belt, he noticed that the belt was deteriorating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

While driving straight at approximately 40 mph the side airbags deployed for no reason. As a result the seat belts no long function appropriately.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contactstated that while attempting to add seat belt extensions to therear passenger side seat belt she noticed there was no buckle tosnap the seat belt into. The vehicle was taken to an authorizeddealer where they could not locate the seal belt buckle. Thevehicle was in the process of having a new buckle installed. Thefailure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 6,000.updated 08/12/10 updated 08/17/10.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While driving approximately 55 mph, a loud abnormal noise emitted from the vehicle. The vehicle veered to the left into oncoming traffic and excessive force on the brake pedal was used in order to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that there were parts missing from the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 112,763.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the brakes failed to respond and the contact crashed into another vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact was taken to the hospital where there were face, back and neck injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 81,567.

My window in the rear passenger side malfunctioning.... It would let down on it's own.this happens when my vehicle in drive and when park.

I have a 2008 chevy trailblazer ss with 13800 miles on it. I was driving in normal traffic conditions on city streets when my brakes applied them selves and began to cause the vehicle to slow down to a stop while driving. I had to press on the gas pedal heavily so the vehicle would move to avoid a collision with vehicles turning ahead of me and also vehicles traveling behind me.i got to a safe area and pulled over and saw that the gas pedal was firm as can be and would not loosen up, i shifted the vehicle into park and the brakes disengaged. I took the vehicle to the dealer the next day and they where un able to replicate the problem and returned the vehicle to me with no repairs completed.i asked them to document this in case it happens again and causes a crash so they can be held liable.i do not feel safe operating my vehicle anymore knowing that at any time my brakes might turn on.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the brakes locked without warrant. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the failure was unable to be duplicated.the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 38,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. When the contact attempted to accelerate at a traffic light, the brakes would not disengage. He attempted to release the brakes by shifting gears and apply constant, steady pressure to the brake pedal. Within a few minutes, the brake released. On a separate occasion, while driving at speeds of 15 mph, the brakes locked. He abruptly depressed the accelerator pedal in an attempt to avoid a potential crash. He was able to maneuver the vehicle off of the road and shut off the engine. Upon restarting the vehicle, it functioned normally. The warning lights illuminated during both failures. The dealer could not duplicate nor determine the cause of the failure. There were no repairs made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. The current mileage was 31,225 and the failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

After stopping attempted to accelerate but could not move.appeared that all four brakes were locked.tried changing gears but no change.no warning lights.finally turned engine off and restarted and problem went away.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. While drivingat 25 mph, the stability track warning light illuminated on the instrumental panel. The warning light illuminated twice. The dealer advised that the rack and pinion would need to be replaced, as well as the air bag sensors. The vehicle was repaired under factory warranty. In addition, the contact stated when applying the brakes, the brakes would feel abnormally soft and spongy. The dealer replaced the brake booster six times yet the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 5,012 and the current mileage was 16,000.

I was stopped for a red light on a slight hill. When it turned green i tried to move ahead and all 4 brakes had locked up and i had no forward motion. I pushed had on gas pedal and was able to creep at about 1 mph to a driveway. When i entered driveway i heard a "clink" and brakes released.this veh has 5200 miles and is a 2008 trailblazer ss awd. This is the 1st instance of this type.i took it to my servicing chevy dealer and they checked it out and said that "mechanically " it was fine. They contacted chevrolet tac and were told this has never ever happened in the whole data base for gm and no repairs authorized till it can be replicated for them to see. There were no codes stored . This happened 0n 4-25-09. I went back to dealership on 4-28-09 and the again called tac to see if there was anyone who had info on this type of failure of the brakes....but again no luck. I feel strongly that this is a safety issue and chevrolet should be doing more than lip service....

After having taken a 25 mile trip, i discovered a large puddle of oil under my car and upon inspection found the power steering lines had all rusted in a shock mount and ruptured releasing the power steering fluid.my mechanic said if all the oil had drained out, it would have burned up the pump and cost an additional $350. Total cost of repair $623.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the power steering was leaking. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

While driving at freeway speeds, front wheels went into a speed wobble,i lightly applied the brakes and it became worse. I took the trailblazer to the michelin tire dealer and he found nothing wrong with the balance or run-out on the tires,so i then took the car to the dealership, and they could not find any problem.

The power steering lines blow

2008 chevy trailblazer shutters in front end at highway speeds.

Power steering lines corroded and leaking at/from rubber mount on l wheel well.

Vehicles stabilitrac light comes on constantly. Repair listed for code is not the problem. Had same issue with my 2006 trailblazer. Light comes on sporadically, even when backing out of my driveway at low rate of speed.

Leaking power steering fluid all the time

As i was driving my 2008 trailblazer the steering wheel completely froze on me and i could not turn the vehicle in any direction. I ended up driving it into someones yard before i could get it stopped. After having it taken to a garage they told me my power steering lines etc were blown. They have since fixed this issue, very costly to me though, and then they informed me that while checking the vehicle out they found my transmission lines are very corroded. So that is the next issue to be fixed with this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The accelerator pedal had to be depressed several times before the vehicle reacted. In addition, the stability traction control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the steering angle sensor had failed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet trailblazer. The contact stated that he opened the rear driver's side door and noticed corrosion on the door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. I went to close my hatchback on my 2008 trailblazer yester and after closing the door a few seconds later the glass exploded.some on the inside of the car and some on the outside.the truck was parked.i now have a cut on my finger that may need stitches.i hear this is a very common problem with these trucks.

The liftback emblem on the back of the car and the emblem on the front began to disintegrate after about one year. I don't have any reason it just started.people and mechanics have been telling me that they were bad and the replacement was high.

Vehicles stabilitrac light comes on constantly. Repair listed for code is not the problem. Had same issue with my 2006 trailblazer. Light comes on sporadically, even when backing out of my driveway at low rate of speed.

Our trailblazer is in excellent condition with one exception.the tires leak air at the rims.we have had the tires removed from the rims to have the rims resealed and that lasts for a brief period of time.we have aluminum rims.it is our understand that the rims have developed spurs due to use.our trailblazer has approximately 67000 miles.it is housed in a garage and used daily.my husband often has to fill the tires before we can leave home.during the winter months he has to fill them if we take a 2 1/2 hour trip or if it sits overnight in cold.this is very disappointing and remains frustrating.thank you for your help in this matter.

I was just sitting in a drive thru and my passenger side window just started smoking and now it will not go down.

I was driving down the road and it was raining pretty hard. I hit a pothole that was not visible and my airbags, only on the sides, deployed.

There's a problem after braking which causes a few second delay when accelerating from a slow speed, supposedly part of the stabilitrak/abs system caused bya faulty sensor. I have almost had a couple of accidents because of this when waiting to turn in a left turn lane.

My 2008 trailblazer powers down and traction control light comeson acceleration i feel this is dangerous to cars behind me

Engine started chirping, replaced idler pulley and the other stationary pulley and belt, the air condition pump was replaced before winter , well with the recent warm up this spring i needed to use the air, at an idle it works ,some light squeeling, but as you are driving it lacks acceleration, it will go if you hit the gas pedel a few times, but it's pretty scary, as soon as you turn off the a/c it drives normal. I see this has been a problem for others that i have read in various car truck forums.

The check engine light came on, my gas tank needle went down to empty on a full tank of gas and will not come back up, and it stalls. While i was driving.

No cruise control indicator lamp on dash board.this becomes a problem because you do not know when the cruise control is active or not, which can create an accident when letting off the gas to start to decelerate.

Water got on the window switches because the drivers window was left open a little during a rain storm, and none of the windows or door lock switches on the drivers door worked for 2 days. I know that there's a re-call for 2006 & 2007 model years for the same reason, so why not on the 2008?

I had to replace the driver side window motor at about 30,000 miles and now the passenger side motor is acting up and will probably have to be replaced - i am currently at 38000 miles.seeing so many other complaints, including vehicle door fires, this should be recalled.
