Front end crash and the air bags did not deploy.vehicle was totaled.

Hvac controls don't all work, radio inoperative at times, rear windows will not move up or down, had to replace fan clutch.all recently.

Outside temperature displaying 50 degrees regardless of actual outside temperature.when actual temperatures below freezing this represents a hazard.when temperatures above 50 degrees air conditioning not responsive (even when temperatures in excess of 100 degrees, "heater" comes on due to erroneous outdoor temperature reading).poor fuel mileage results from incorrect air/fuel mixture at actual air temperatures more than 20 degrees +/- 50 degree system temperature.

2002 chevy trailblazer left brake light out after two repairs.there is a problem with this vehicle type other trailblazers have left light out as well. Dealer has repaired twice, now warranty is expired and police have pulled me over informing me that i need to get it fixed, again! i bought new lights still left won't work.

Both rear window regulators went out at the same time not from wear hardly used them makes to much noise. Four wheel drive differential locking hub locked in won't come out. Electrical problems with radio, dash lights, heated seats just to name a few. Idle not right stalls out while in park sometimes. Nothing fixed yet have to save money because cost to much to go to dealer,it costs a 100.00 just to have them hook up to machine and then it says nothing is wrong but all this is wrong ,it does not compute.

Intrument panel quits functioning at any given time and may start working at anytime, accuracy is questionable.this includes speedometer, temperature, charging and fuel gauges.*ln

The headlight wiring inside of the lens assembly over heats and melts the electrical connector going to the bulb and the insulation on the wiring. This has happened to both headlights on more than one occasion. Had to go and have the electrical wiring plus connector replaced.

Our 2002 chevy trailblazer mirrors will not reset to the memory positions. The mirrors change positions by themselves and have to be readjusted everytime the car ignition is turned off.

I have a 2002 trailblazer in which 4 out of the six instruments in the gauge cluster have stopped working correctly which in turn could be a safety issue.

Larger occurring issues which could effect safety include the vehicle randomly deciding to change from 2wd/a4wd/4wdh4wdl whenever it wants to under various weather/road conditions (including perfect weather and road surface) and occasional random ignition system failure this is not safe at all i have taken it to the chevy dealership and they said it is a safety issue and that they need to do a recall on it they have had several rigs like this one come in for the same issue .. I believe that chevy gm needs to do a recall and have this fixed before i or someone else is injured or killed..

Pulled into driveway, lights would not go off, a few minutes later smoke was coming out from under hood and it smelled like burning plastic.popped hood and fuse block and relay we smoking and melting!got fire extinguished and pulled the head light relay switch, but it had melted through the block!!!!

Chevy trailblazer02 model, about 40k miles in 2005 the car died on us 2 times and we couldn't find out what was the reason we had to ask for jump and it kept going on normal, then suddenly after about a couple month i saw thatthe battery was leaking, and damaged some a/c pipe lines under the battery, had to replace the battery and wash and clean all under and around the battery to remove the acid stuff. After that the tailgate where the third brake light is, started making noises everytime i opened it, when checkedi found that the part where the rear window is affixed to the tail gate where broke and the escrews are hanging by it self which made the rear window loose and standing out, and about a week ago now that i have 61k miles in 2009 the rear brake light went off, took it to dealer and they told me about the recall on those lights and so they fixed it, which when i picked up the suv and drove it with the familyabout 45 miles trip when suddenly it started blowing air and making a strong and deep noise sounded like a bus or 18 wheeler passing by, which made us cancel the trip and go back to dealer to find out what have they done to my car, take a guess, i was told that it's common on those chevy's the fan clutch to go out and that it really lasted long on my car and yes it's something normal that happens, but it cost me $950.00 to repair it yeah sure very normal, it seems like gm parts and labors now are costing just as the german cars. Shouldn't gm make all those issues recall if it is known that are defective and are happening to most of the cars .

Electrical problem rear view mirror compass not reading right and outside temp. Not reading correct on a hot 80 degree day. Reads -33 and now my a/c wont work because it saying that's its too cold for the a/c to be on.

1.- electrical system failure in the trailblazer ext 2002 125,278 miles. Ac delco professional battery maintenance free 19001810 catalog 1810 (replacement 78-6yr) has green hydrometer color but a sense acid smell around.2.- two business appointments were cancelled and no way to go out with the car. I called the dealership for assistance friday 18, 7:30 p.m. And leave a voicemail. The dealer return the phone call saturday 19, 7:30 a.m. Later i call back 9:00 a.m. And ask them what they think about and where to start...with the battery?? but they said that they are booked and not able to take any other appointment until monday....just in case how much would be.. 75 $ plus labor 25 $ total around 100 $.consequences: two potential business opportunities were lost as well as the opportunity of car enjoyment and freedom. Battery replaced $ 80.99. Acid leaks through the car. Request friend help for time to buy, deliver and replace the battery at home.the ac delco web site said that "the battery that comes with a gm vehicle is covered by the limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles" it is really not fair how a battery can lose it positive terminal itself and why consumer is not covered against this defect that involve time and money as well as opportunities and major accidents.3.- saturday 19, 10 a.m. I called a friend to find another battery. Before that we take out the ac delco battery from the car the positive terminal was completely separated from the case and acid was leaking...it is unbelievable. The ac delco battery has a green hydrometer indication. The battery was replaced with another brand expenses of $ 80.99without consideration of timing, driving and gas used by my friend and mine to replaced the ac delco battery that had positive terminal completely separated .

Factory installed battery leaking acid out of the side mounted terminals at 3.5 years 40k miles.no warranty coverage after 3 years 36k.other complaints and web-postings with same problem, obviously battery is defective.

Our 2002 chevrolet trailblazer loses power and the trouble lights flash including the service light and reduced power light come on. I have changed the 02 sensor, flushed the transmission, replacedspark plugs and had the emission system checked all to no avail. Our mechanic cannot isolate the problem and all things we have tried has failed. We have reset the computer several times to no avail. This is a problem and safety issue. We have had no help from gm.

2002 chevy trailblazer service engine soon light will come on along with the reduced engine power light and the vehicle will not go faster than 40 mph. Sometimes it will not go more than 20 and 10 mph.i've taken the vehicle to the dealer and they cleaned the throttle and changed some filters and 2 days later....the same lights come on and the engine power is reduced. The dealer doesn't know what the problem is so the vehicle continues to do this and has been doing this for the past 6 months.there was a recall on the control arms in 2001 that affected the 2002 chevy trailblazer. I purchased my trailblazer in 2002 so i didn't receive any recall information. My control arms need to be replaced and i want to know why my vehicle isn't covered under the recall.

I backed of the garage and heard a loud noise.as i pulled forward the truck moved very slowly for how far the gas pedal was pushed. I went to go in reverse again but the truck would not go into reverse and could hear a loud whining from the motor. I this just happened to day but i figure it's the transmission. Also, when i bought the truck i had problems with the temp. Sensor and the air conditioning the dealer took care of the problem with the air but the outside temp. Sensor is still broke. I don't know which is worse the failure of the transmission or, seeing all the like complaints on this site with no action.

2002 chevrolet electronic clutch fan failure.many of these electronic clutch fans are failing in our area.imo, due to high heat causing o-ring seal failure and loss of silicon lubricant.imo, part is not well enough built to withstand sw heat.

I have a 2002 trailblazer with about 50,200 miles and the other day it began to make a high pitched sound, almost like a plane landing.when i took it to the dealer, he said it's the fan clutch and it's going to cost $711 to fix.when i asked if this is normal wear & tear, i did not get a proper answer.the response was that this happens a lot on the chevy & gm vehicles.when i called chevy corporation, i was given a claim# & told that they will have to investigate this problem & then they will call me back in about 3 days to advise if they will help with the costs of the repair.both the customer service reps i spoke with at chevrolet corporation (800-222-1020) told me that they've personally never had such a complaint before and that this was new to them.but when i googled this problem for the chevy trailblazer 2002, i got several web pages including nhtsa which documented this problem.this should definitely be a recall item.i am now waiting to see if chevrolet will help and to what extent.

Faulty part - fan clutch - that innumerable amount if not 100% of 02-04 chevrolet trailblazer and gmc envoy owners have had to suffer with in the amount of $500+ repair bill. How many reports will it take for a recall . . .

Fan clutch failed at 49,000 miles after intermittent roaring sound almost from date of new purchase 6-20-02.required replacing at my $600 cost.

Clutch fan failed to release. Fan locked up without warning. Engine has less than 40,000 miles.

Complete engine failure.bought the vehicle used with 45,000 miles on the vehicle.4 months after i bought it, and with only 54,000 miles on the engine, it has a lower engine failure.

Bad gas tank, cracked neck, bad gas cap causing state inspection failure and sounds like a safety hazard to me..

2002 chevy trail blazer ext on 3/3/07 - while driving truck on highway the truck stopped running. Restarted truck and pulled over to side of road. Truck stopped running again. My husband noticed the oil pressure gauge which indicated no oil pressure. Truck was then taken to repair shop. Our mechanic stated that it need a new oil pump, which is located in the engine- this was too big a job for his station. My husband called general motors, spoke to their representative, who stated that the vehicle was no longer under warranty and in order for them to do cost sharing with us the vehicle would need to be taken to a gm authorized repair dealer. After numerous attempts to contact that same rep - we were informed by the chevy dealer that we needed to pay for the diagnostics(635.00) or they would charge us storage fees. Still no contact from gm rep - our truck is still not fixed and still have not been able to get response from gm - other issues with this same truck have been at our expense: replaced rear window motors for window, air conditioning compressor, rear tail lights (twice) due to recall and lights not working - seat adjustment switches panel (twice) now this expense which will cost over 4372.00 if no other damage was done to truck by oil pressure not working.

My vehicle is a 2002 chevy trailblazer.i am writing today regarding the engine that has failed three times. There were multiple recalls on the vehicle including; air conditioning systems, back tail lights etc. The engine failed, and was replaced before 32k miles and again at 72k.now on the third time, the warrantyis expired! when we contacted gm inc. They asked us to take the vehicle to there local shop. The shop took the vehicle apartand decided per gm that the vehicle was not under warranty, which is information gm knew from the beginning. I feel that they areshelling their responsibility for a lemon product they made.i have had nothing but problems with this suv. As i remember my tax dollars bailed them out and help gm stay afloat! i am not asking for much. I paid cash $26,544 for this gm product. They got paid and the only thing i got is pain from an suv that was defective from the start.i can't afford to fix a truck i already paid for and maintained as the manufacturer suggested.after working 30 years, i have fallen ill and now i am on a fixed income. I am only asking for my suv to be fixed by gm because they know this is a defective product.to add, i am not the only one having this issue with my chevy trailblazer. I need my vehicle, its my transportation to the doctor. I thought i had a reliable suv that would last me.gm you are wrong for selling a disabled women a lemon with problems from day one then refusing to take responsibility!honor your product. Even wal-mart take back defective products. Car companies should be no different.shame shame shame gm!!!!!!p.s. They still have my truck at the local shop. No one will return my calls!! shame

Third brake light wing flew off while driving on the expressway.

The headlight wiring inside of the lens assembly over heats and melts the electrical connector going to the bulb and the insulation on the wiring. This has happened to both headlights on more than one occasion. Had to go and have the electrical wiring plus connector replaced.

Pulled into driveway, lights would not go off, a few minutes later smoke was coming out from under hood and it smelled like burning plastic.popped hood and fuse block and relay we smoking and melting!got fire extinguished and pulled the head light relay switch, but it had melted through the block!!!!

The taillights are delayed when needing to turn on. If you apply the brake, blinker or place vehicle in reverse, the lights will not come on until a few seconds have passed.also condensation builds up on the inside lens. It happens ever time i drive or use the vehicle. A previous recall on the taillights did not cover the delay or condensation according to the dealer and gm. So far i have not taken any corrective steps, i am going to try replacing the assembly and hope that resolves it. The light is not cracked or damaged in any way, and vehicle has never been in an accident.

I have a 2002 trailblazer with multiple taillight / brake light failures.the dealership has resolved my problem, however i thought this information might be helpful to your open investigation.in november 03 my brake lights failed and my dealership "replaced the bulbs" under my then existing warranty.again, in january, they failed again and i took the vehicle in to have the "bulbs" replaced.while sitting at the counter, i was speaking to a man behind theparts counter and explaining my problem to him.i hadn't finished explaining when he told me i must have a trailblazer.i told him yes, and asked him why. He reached under the counter and took out a box with no less than 20 taillight "circuit boards" and told me they were all from trailblazers.

The brake lights on my 2002 trailbalzer have either burned out or failed to function 3 times in the past 2 years.a serious issue since i was notified by other drivers while driving in heavy traffic.once the bulbs were replaced at the dealership and the other times at local mechanics while i was traveling.enough of an issue to make me consider trading vehicles.

I own a 2002 trail blazer ext.i bought it brand new and i have had many many problems with it.i finally have had it and decided to see if the internet reported any similar problems and to my amazement there are many people out there with the same problems, but here is my story.i have had to have the brake lights electrical system on both sides replaced, molding around the license plate frame repaired, oxygen sensor replaced, sway bars replaced, windshield wiper motors replaced, left side passenger window motor broke twice, gas tank replaced because it was leaking gas and now it is back in the shop once again because the engine light came on and i had the onstar system do an engine analysis and they said something is wrong with my power train.i took it to the dealership and they call to tell me the gas tank is leaking gas and needs to be replaced.i told them i just had it done in october 2003.they told me i could not drive my vehicle. I see there was a recall done on some 2002 trailblazers due to a problem like this, but they say my vehicle is not one of them.why?i am having the same problems with the gas tank.this is the second one.i am lucky i took it in or something may have happened if it is this dangerous.i would appreciate a response back.thank you, kathy yates.

Brake lights continuously fail in my 2002 trailblazer. The dealer replaced them a couple of times while i was having other cheap made inferior parts repaired or replaced under warranty or recall.the problem is the contacts in the bulb socket are to far apart and do not make a secure connection with the bulb contacts and also do not have electrical grease in them to protect against moisture.

This problem concerns a repeatedlighting systems failure.this incident occurred when i was notified by another motorist that when i had the brakes on while stopped at a stop light that both the left and right tail stop lamps were not lit although the center high mounted stop lamp did light to indicate the brakes were on.i had had to have both of these lamps replaced only about 3 months ago when they both burned out within a short period of time, perhaps simultaneously as they might have last week.after the incident last week i put in new bulbs but, unlike the first incident 3 months ago, the lamps would not light properly when the brake pedal was depressed.i will notify the dealer where i bought the vehicle next week when their service department is open again that this problem with my vehicle needs attention.

Top of gas tank -pours out gas.

There is rust all over the inside of my engine, two exhaust manifold bolts rusted off and i had an exhaust leak.i had to have it fixed so i took it into a chevrolet dealer.while it was there they told me that the gas tank had a crack in it and had to be replaced, at a cost of over 700.00 dollars.i can't afford to have the manifold and tank fixed.now i am faced with either exhaust leaking or gas leaking.they said the gas tank was cracked at the neck.i called general motors to state that i thought it was a manufacturers defect.gm called the dealer and they told them that the vehicle was in good shape and that there was no sign of misuse or neglect.gm called me back and stated that the crack was due to the age of the vehicle and wear and tear.i have never heard of a vehicle gas tank cracking for no reason unless there was a defect in the gas tank itself.the tank is plastic and the neck is also plastic, it is all one piece.i feel this is a very dangerous problem and through no fault of my own i have to find a remedy to the problem.the only way to tell if there is a leak is if the tank is full.

My check engine turned on inside the car it was smelling like gas . I went to a local shop they did a diagnostic test and its a fuel tank leak . Its leaking right were the fuel goes in the tank . I called chevrolet and they said there is no recall . But i found a recall for this vehicle action #eao7009.

After refilling fuel tank full of gasoline and driving until ~80% full, i smelled fuel vapors coming from the vehicle when standing outside. Outside temperature was ~70 f. After the next trip the vehicle mil came on. Codes were related to evap leak p0442. Dealer replaced fuel tank and filler neck tube, cracked. Almost 1 year prior gm issued a notice that this issue might occur and would be covered at gm's expense. I recalled that i had received a letter regarding a mil light that might appear. Dealer repaired vehicle under this letter / warranty. Vehicle had ~80k miles. Driven daily in 4 season area.

Noticed strong fuel odor around the vehicle, found out a crack in the tank around the tube connecting the hose coming from the filler neck, quite dangerous it could lead to a fire, ask gm and the have a safety policy adjustment, but it expires when the car is 7 years old or 70000 miles, there are many many cases like this so this must be a recall issue at my point of view.

Smelled gasoline around suv, became more prominent one day when starting suv gasoline poured out from under. Had suv towed to repair station had to replace the fuel sending module cost me 367.90 parts 165.00 labor.

Bad gas tank, cracked neck, bad gas cap causing state inspection failure and sounds like a safety hazard to me..

Fuel leak and heavy fuel fumes with gas tank/assembly leak on 2002 chevy trailblazers.

The fuel tank on my vehicle has leaked or had an evap leak detected and had needed a replacement 4 times in 7 years of ownership. First replacement at 2288 miles on10/04/02, then 18474 miles on 10/17/03, then 34782 miles on 08/21/04 and 96121 miles on 01/21/09.the car dealership has completed the replacements each time and were previously covered by my extended warranty. It is now not covered by the warranty and needs replacing again at $1000 expense.

Smell of gas inside and outside of the vehicle after fill up.took to dealership and notified them of an emission service bulletin #07099 regarding a fuel inlet check valve fracture.the dealerships assessment was that they found lines at top of sending unit rusted and fuel leaking out of lines, replaced sending unit.i do have the part they replaced and lines are rusted but see no holes where leaking occurred.bill total was $816.78 (219.65 labor, 535.60 sending unit module, 15.30 seal.

2002 chevy trailblazer1) check engine light came on.observed strong gasoline odor and leakage.vehicle failed emissions inspection.2) took car for service where they identified that the gas tank's fill nipple had split where it was joined to the tank (stress failure?).3) i heat-welded the nipple back on to the tank.

(1) no events leading to problem(2) fuel tank replacement led to full replacement(3) replaced fuel tank with dealership.

Check engine lightwas on vehicle, computer check said fuel tank has a leakor crack. Thisis a safety hazard which could cause a fire or explosion and should be recalled. Had to have replaced by the garage at my expense. Research on the internet has shown there have been a lot of thesetrailblazers withthis problem and there should be recalled.

Found a crack in the filler pipe leading to the gasoline tank on my 2002 trailblazer ext. First started smelling gasoline, then loss of gas mileage and then check engine soon light remained on.

I have a 2002 trailblazer ext and the gas tank leaks at the filler tube connection.

After smelling gas fumes and having the "service engine soon" lamp illuminated, i took my 2002 chevrolet trailblazer ext to my mechanic for service.the attachment from the fuel filler line and the gas tank was loose.he relayed that chevy was having a lot of problems with this.after pursuing this with gm, i found a special policy # 05012.gm will fix the problem on vehicles with up to 70,000 miles.my vehicle has 72,000 miles.gm refuses to repair this defect.

The check engine light came on.i took the 2002 chevrolet trailblazer to the dealer, who determined thegas tank leakedfrom the top of the tank where the gas entered.there wasno way this couldoccur from wear and tear.thiswasa defect in the workmanship, product liability.it will cost approximately $800 for repairs.

Chevy trailblazer 2002 ltz - vin [xxx] there is a crack in the connection between my gas tank and the filler pipe.chevy told me that currently have a "special policy" #05012 which covers this flaw, however my car does not fall under that even though the symptoms are the same.how can i pursue this and get it fully covered.[xxx]updated 07/18/2012information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

I own 2002 trailblazer and twice the fuel tank had broken around the filler neck letting fuel leak out.the problem is several other owners have had the same problem. The second time it broke i replaced it my self and i am sure it is a manufacturing defect.if a owner had this problem it could cause fire/explosion.

Filler neck is fractured at the fuel tank

I have a crack in the fill neck of my gas tank. Very expensive fix on a 2002 trailblazer ext. Caused a loss of speed on the highway and effects the pick up especially when going up hills, even small inclines.

Before i got the recall notice on my trailblazer the problem with the car happened to me.my 3 year old grandson fell out the back door when it unlatched.no message appeared on the panel.my other grandson yelled to let me know that he had fallen out.further action may be taken in this matter.

April 16, 2007 left rear door of 2002 chevy trailblazer ext failed to latch.if child passenger had not noticed the door may have opened during driving.vehicle was brought to local mechanic 2 blocks away to minimize drive time with unlatched door.local mechanic found that the door latch was corroded and needed to be replaced.cost approx $155.owner subsequently discovered that this was the same problem that prompted safety recall 05077.owner had brought the vehicle to chevrolet dealer (depaula chevrolet, albany ny) in july 2006 and minimal recall repair was done.according to the invoice dated 7/17/06 seals to both doors were installed.the invoice does not mention if door latches were cleaned and lubricated or that latches were replaced. It does not seem that therepair that was done was adequate to prevent corrosion which lead to ultimate failure of the latch.on april 19, 2007 3:00 pm owner showed depaula service manager the failed part.manager said the dealer could do nothing and referred owner to gm and provided 800 number.april 19, 2007 4:00 pm owner called gm resulting in gm refusing to reimburse owner for repair because owner did not go to authorized dealer for repair.at the time of incident the owner did not know the failure was caused by damage related to recall.owner did not feel it was safe to travel any significant distance, especially with a child passenger, which is why the vehicle was brought to a local mechanic.owner explained that the dealer was 20 miles from where incident occurred and it would not have been safe to travel that far. Gm suggested that owner should have had the vehicle towed to dealer, but owner had no way of knowing that the faulty latch was a recall issue that needed to be repaired by a dealer. In addition to the repair cost the owner is concerned that the remaining door latch may also be compromised and fail, putting passengers in danger of injury.photos of failed part are available.

Dt*: the contact stated the driver's side rear door opens while driving at any speed.an nhtsa recall, #05v494000 was performed on the vehicle concerning, the latches/locks/linkages: doors: latch however; the recall did not remedy the problem.the dealership only replaced the weather stripping along the two rear doors.the driver's side rear door still opens while driving at any speed. The dealership would not offer to replace the inoperable latch as indicated in the recall without charge.updated 06/15/06.

Rear passenger doors will not open or will not latch closed.

Rear hatch and glass gate binding and won't openwithout hitting the top body panel and roof. This started way back when the glass hatch just pops up by itself while driving and we just stop and just close it. We really did not pay much attention to it even if it keeps on happening once in a while, so now the hatch won't open and i brought it to the dealer where it was originallybought, they said something was done to it that's why ,andwhy it took so long to complain and why it just appeared now , yes the glass pops off once in a while so it did not warrant to waste my time to bring it to the dealer, but now that it binds it needs to be corrected, everything in there is still original as i got it from the dealer even the glass security etching and they still accuses us of probably something was done to it. I assure you that it's the original and nothing was done to it nor any accident to it. When they removed the screws i noticed that the clipsholding the upper plastic panel pops off and does not seem to fit and bows out of shape , the right side panel where onescew s it to hold the panel popped, i noticed that the 2main supports holding the whole latch/ gate isnotlevel and both the inner sides seems to be lower than the outside so the clips won't catch, they called for authorization for the top panel but was denied, i think its the main roof supportholding this whole thing that's bent out of shape, its not strong enough to hold theheavy rear gate. Now they want me to pay $700+ to repair it.

Rear hatch (tailgate) window will release while driving without warning. This has happened on numerous occasions. When this occurs, all the interior lights come on, which can be quite dangerous at night. In addition, items can fall out of the unsecured rear hatch (tailgate) window. I have tried lubricating the mechanism, as well as checking regularly that it is secured, but there has been no improvement.

Transmission failed.diagnosis was reverse sun shell failure (just like all the other complaints listed on this site)!gm refuses to offer any cost assistance with the repair or acknowledge that there is an obvious defect that should be recalled!!!

My transmission went in january of 2005.it is now july and the same thing happened again.i had to fight with the dealership then because i only had the vehicle for 4 months and i am fighting with them again.it is the same problem.it won't shif out of 1st and it won't go in reverse and the loud noise is horrible.

I own a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer ext which has been impeccably maintained by me. Prior to going on a vacation i brought the truck into my mechanic for an inspection as usual and he informed me the transmission fuel lines had to be replaced due to excessive corrosion. He also advised me that this was a common problem with this model which prompted chevrolet to change the design. He checked to see if it was on a recall list but was not. I checked the nhtsa site and have noticed numerous complaints on this same issue. Why has this not been addressed with gm and placed on a recall list for replacement by a dealership?

While driving on the highway i lost power.i pulled over and found the transmission coolant lines had corroded.transmission fluid had all leaked out and the transmission was ruined. The car was serviced at the dealer 2 days earlier at the dealer.i understand this is a typical problem with this vehicle and should be a recall.

Morning of incident, would here a "clunking" noise after engaging the accelerator.that afternoon, while driving in fast lane of interstate at 65 miles per hour, upon engaging the accelerator, the vehicle was going to have to down shift, and instead, heard a loud "whirring" noise, and vehicle slowed down.upon evaluation, the vehicle will not go into reverse, and has trouble shifting.repair shopped diagnosed that the transmission has gone out.

I was driving home when i heard a loud clunk. I turned down my street and the engine started whining and would not go any faster than 20 miles per hour. I pulled into my driveway and proceeded to look under the carriage expected to see oil dripping but, i saw nothing. I decided to start the car and drive around the block but i could not back out of my driveway the car would not go in reverse.

The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer ext. While the vehicle was parked he attempted to shift gear out of park position and it shifted into a different gear. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who advised him that the gear shift needed to be repaired.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure continued to occur. The dealer diagnosed the failure and advised him that the gear shift needed to be repaired. The contact referenced recall nhtsa campaign id number: 03v075000, power train:automatic transmission and was advised by the dealer that the recall repair had already been performed. The failure had been on-going for the last year. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 126,000.

Sun gear failed in transmission put into reverse went 6"-12" loud clunk could drive ahead in low gear 2002trailblazer had 43,000 miles. Dealer fixed under warranty no charge by replacing sun gear.

Small "clunking" noise from under vehicle when shifting from park to reverse or drive. "clunking also evident when slowing to a stop. Ultimate transmission failure occurred while accellerating from a stop. A very loud "clunck" was heard from under the vehicle followed by a loud wirring noise. The vehicle would not shift from first gear afterwards until about 40 mph. The "wirring" noise continued when the vehicle was stopped and the transmission would not shift into reverse.the dealer's mechanic overhauled the transmission and replaced the following "worn" parts: sun gear shell, sun gear, 3-4 clutch. Vehicle had 40000 miles at time of failure.

Transmission went out at 80,000 miles with the sunshield and sun gear had trans replaced with no help form gm this is a problem with the 2002 trailblazers and up trans i fill that gm needs to recall this product be for it kills someone and make good to all consumers that had to pay for there's to be fixed.

Transmission on 2002 trailblazer failed for the second time within 83k.first time coming off exit ramp of highway at 54k.second time was in the middle of an intersection at 83k.transmission in question was the l460e.

While taking off from a toll booth there was a big bang and the transmission would not shift into reverse and made a very loud whinning noise whe going forward

No warning at all.sounded like i hit something when pulling into a parking spot.i put the truck in reverse and heard the same thing.at 85,000 the transmission was shot and i had to spend almost 1,300.00 to have a rebuilt put in.this truck has been well-maintained and is in very good condition.i am very angry.

I went to put the vehicle in reverse this morning and it made a whinnying noise and wouldn't move.i thought maybe a had a toy under the car that was making that noise.so i shut the car off turned it back andstill same noise when i went to back up.this is a 2002 with under 60,000 miles and has transmission trouble.same as that other complaints i've read on here.book says transmission service when 100,000 miles and i don't believe there should be so many problems with a vehicle with low miles and as many complaints as there has been gm should do something about it and think about a recall.i run a daycare and sometimes have 5 kids in the car explain that to the parents if they would have been hurt.it time for gm to do something about it.

Leaking transmission hoses due to excessive corrosion due to poor design on 2002 chevy trailblazer ext.

With no prior warning of defect, my 2002 trailblazer would not accelerate while trying to merge into highway traffic.after initial look through for any obvious signs of what may be wrong,i was unable to drive my car and had it towed to nearest dealership where a transmission failure was quickly diagnosed and i was quoted a repair cost of just under $5,000 !!! my wife and i think this is pretty odd considering the regular maintenance and absence of signs of trouble, so we researched the internet only to find out that transmission problems (particularly on 2002 trailblazer) are very common.it is believed that general motors is very much aware of this and the phrase "silent recall" kept coming up.

Transmission coolant pipes:on the afternoon of november 12, i was driving on a local freeway i began experiencing difficulties maintaining speed.while the engine had full power, i had to pull over as my vehicle effectively lost power to the wheels.at this time, i had the vehicle towed to the local chevrolet dealer where i have the vehicle serviced.the vehicle has always been regularly services at gm dealers.the following monday, my suspicion of a transmission failure was confirmed.several days later, the old transmission was replaced.at that time, the transmission coolant pipe was discovered to have been rusted through and this was identified as the likely cause of my transmission failing.i ultimately had to have the transmission and that coolant pipe replaced at the cost of several thousand dollars.i believe a strong case exists for calling attention to a need to inspect and perhaps replace critical underbody fluid pipes on similar vehicles due to the likelihood of rust-through and other failures that could cause substantial damage to vehicles.

Loud clanking noise coming from the rear to center of the vehicle when shifting from park to forward or reverse, ieee when lack of or direction is changed. 36,000 miles, very poor quality vehicle as i have had several other issues. Good thing i have extended warranty, however i am very displeased with chevrolet and will aviod purchasing any cheverolet products in the future.

Consumer's vehicle was involved in a accident. The driver's seat belt failed to restrain the consumer. The driver sustained major injuries, and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was towed to a garagefor inspection. This information was provided by mr. Nathan's wife mildred chatman.

Driving down the road and had to stop suddenly. When the seat broke and went to the floor on one side. Pulled over and investigated and the weld on the arm of the seat control was improperly welded. The weld on the arm its self was half on the plate and popped loose. If had been going around a curve when the seat broke would probably caused a wreck. Going to have to buy a new seat and trade the vehicle off possibly. Afraid more welds could be missing or not done properly.

I brought my extended 2002 trailblazer in to the dealer for a recall on the rear doors, a seal for the bottom. I think it was for the door latch rusting out and flying open while your driving. I told them to check the abs because the warning light was on. They supposedly checked it out and told me that the front drivers side hub was very wobbly and it caused the sensor to go bad. Me being a mechanic also, decided to take it to my trusted garage and told them to replace the hub. My vehicle only has 45000 miles on it and i didn't think that this part should have gone bad. So i left it at the garage and about an hr later i got a call from them saying that not only the hub but both lower ball joints were bad, drivers side control arm joint was ready to fall off, this steers the wheel! and the brake pads that i just put on about a yr ago are worn at an angle. Now mind you, i just had this vehicle inspected a yr ago and it was fine. Its pretty embarrassing to have an almost new vehicle go in the shop and need the front end rebuilt. This really needs to be looked into because the front wheel could have broken off while driving. Also i have a list of warranty work that was done on this vehicle about a mile long. Now i have to spend over $1000 to get my vehicle back on the road. This just isn't right! i think i will be going to the honda dealer when i get this junk fixed!!!!!! chevy out ---- honda in!

Failure of adhesive bond of rear hatch widow hinge of 2002 trailblazer ext.hinge started separating to a noticeable gap to the rear window from the window frame.

The headliner of my vehicle has become soaked with rain.i believe the weather stripping on the vehicle is defective.the headliner is soaked on the drivers side from the windshield to the middle row of seats.

While driving on vacation at approximately 2 hours away from home destination, there was a pop noise that was heard by all.kept driving and all of a sudden the right side of the spoiler on the rear of the vehicle popped off and was hanging down.tried to put back on, but would not go.took it the rest of the way off, continued on our trip.when we returned home, we took it to a body shop, which the guy told us that we were the sixth person that has had this happen to them and they are going to be fixing it for us for a fee.would like to see if this would be considered a "recall" since there have been more than 1 of the same situation in the same area as us.

Driving to columbus, the upper molding around the third brake light got caught by the air flow bent up then broke free from two attachments. This allows the upper molding and brake slight to "flap" in the air flow. If this had broke free hit could have hit another car behind and/or broke the rear tailgate window. Did notice a creaking sound when opening tailgate early in the day. Looked and did not see any problems.

1)driving down city street with no warning. Was not able to control car pulling to the right.car went into the yard of someones home bouncing over an embankment of dirt. Looked around car and found passenger front tire was at a 45% angle.rod holding tire in place not connected and looked clean on the end. Took car to a chevy repair shop and they stated that the part that came loose should not have do so with the age and use of the car.transmission case was pierced and needed replaced, axle bent and adjacent parts needed replaced.old parts are available. Complete write up on damage available. A police report was filed since i was in someone's front yard it was considered an accident.

Smelling gas even though no gas was spilled. The car is stationary in garage. I feel it is unsafe to keep in the garage and i am parking it outside. I am also worried about driving.

2002 chevrolet trailblazer ext.speedometersticks and remains at last known speed or stops working completely.only way to resolve is to turn the vehicle completely off and restart.

We have a 2002 chev. Trailblazer ext. This vehicle's cruise control cuts out while it is set.it has happened numerous times - too many to count - and at different speeds depending on the state and speed limit. The cruise light does go on when it is originally set but goes off at random and with truck traffic behind you it is not a place where you want to be slowing down and not realizing it immediately.

Our 2002 chevy trailblazer mirrors will not reset to the memory positions. The mirrors change positions by themselves and have to be readjusted everytime the car ignition is turned off.

I purchased a used 2002 chevrolet trailblazer vin# [xxx]and the windshield wiper systems will not turn on and ceased operation while in use. (moisture sensitive wiper system)there was a recall for this issue on 2/4/2004 recall id #69922i contacted chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 and was told that the vehicle was serviced on 7/2004 for a seal assembly and there was nothing further they could do. However the problem still existsthe information below was posted in the recall ad: because the presence of water within the wiper modules can either cause a short circuit or can lead to the corrosion of components within the module. Consequencedepending on the occurrence and weather situation, driver visibility could be reduced, which could result in a crash. How can chevrolet get away with selling a product with known defects and not be held responsible for insuring that these defects are properly fixed.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

2002 chevy trailblazer the windshield wipers claim they have already been fixed and will not be fixed again my thing is if it is a continuing problem with the wipers not fixed then they should be fixed until the problem is solved we have to ride around when it is not raining or drive another vehicle because we cant afford to have it fixed ourselves i called chevrolet and they said to bad it was up to us only one recall. Can you help fix this problem or will this continue to go unnoticed thank you so much.

The wipers stop half way across the windshield making it impossible to see when it is raining. Regardless of the speed of the wipers. This is going to cause an accident. I have only had this vehicle for about 2 months.my disabled son has to ride in this vehicle. It needs to be safe and gm could care less. Something needs done. This is an on going issue with all trailblazers. Gm will not acknowledge this fact.

Dt: rear window blew out whileconsumer was removing her children from the rear seat. This happened at about 7:30 pm in the evening. Temperature said about 92 degrees.the plastic cover over the third brake light, located on top and inside of the back window, cracked.the whole housing. The window supports, were the shock stile.they were pulling andwindow broke. Vehicle was serviced regularly at dealer.

Power window motor failure. This is the second time the motor has gone out on rear window. The 1st time car under war. Now its not. There must be a problem with the motors.

Dt the drivers and passengers rear door handles will not open properly. Consumer hasto go inside the vehicle to open the doors. Also, there was a recall for the windsheild wiper and washer, but this vehicle was not included due to vin. The windshiel wipers start on their own, and onecould hear the motor going without windshieldwipers being on.consume rpulled the fuse on the washer motor but wipers continued to run. This happened last tuesday july 19,2005.
