Passenger air bag light not working and coming on when no passage. Check engine light has been on since 2006. Seat belts in 2nd row seating don't lock. Radio broke 2006 replaced after fixed cd player will not play or eject. Air conditioner only blows out hot air after hundreds dollars to fix it. Both head lights blow out at least every 2 months they need replaced. Drivers side break light n tail light keep blowing went to auto store get more bulbs and the tail light caught on fire employees helped me and said they seen the trailblazers do it before due to water building up in it and that that's the reason the bulbs blow. Paid out 300$ in tickets cuz of them blowing n not knowing. The hot and cold air in second row don't blow out at all. A bike parked by me and my back window exploded. Windshield vision is cloudy. Gas gauge, speed ad temp gauge stopped working had replaced now battery gauge broke. Only 1, and 2 worked on heat control and 2 vents worked. Bottom of both sides of car rusted 2 years ago. I had it paid of in 3 years and wish these problems were made available before i did. I've already put thousands of dollars in it and the same thing breaks again and windows in front broke too.my blazer has bee in the garage since january cuz as soon as my husbands gets it out the shop it needs to go right back and we cant afford to fix it nomore i love my blazer and don't want him selling it or trading it in s if you have any advice that would help please tell me. I've been keeping it hoping to get it fixed again but i also have a disabled grandson and custody of a 2 year old that have apts n therapy 4 times a week and need a car but i love it and cant part with it. Please let me know if there a certain way to fix these problems i can do myself so i can keep it..thanks

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370.while driving on an icy bridge at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle spun and struck a brick wall.the air bags failed to deploy.the contact sustained injuries and a police report was filed.the vin was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 25,000.

On, 6/17/12, my daughter and i were driving east bound i-96 and involved in a non-fatal injury accident btwn beech daly & inkster. The accident started in the far right lane and ended with suv facing opposite direction of traffic, left lane of hwy. I hit a pothole, approximate diameter of a yard stick, filled with water and it seems like i lost control of the steering; almost as if the vehicle had instantly shut down. The vehicle easily completed at least a 360 spin out. We were able to walk away with minimal injuries due to clipping another suv tail end instantly before going straight into the cement highway divider! i didn't realize how much muscle strengthening would be involved in mine and my daughters' healing process. I have been in to see an internist, neurological surgeon, physical therapist, occupational therapist, massage therapist, not to mention all of the cat scans, mris, etc. Performed at multiple hospital locations. My vehicle insurance carrier was notified of my health insurance restrictions prior to signing with them and prior to the mvi. The redford, mi police report indicates no injuries because neither myself nor my daughter were taken away by ambulance since the injuries were not life threatening and we were both in formal attire, both bridal party members. The vehicle was towed and totaled by insurance, loan paid in full; however, apparently concerns have arose to, perhaps, to the extent of our injuries so no medical procedures have not been paid to any of the service providers, as of today's date (11/15/14). My daughter and i were picked up by another guest attendee so we weren't holding up progress, being in the wedding party and carrying all decor for afterward festivities. None of the vehicle air bags deployed and we were going 60-65mph (front, side, rear, no where)! thank you, gm, mdot and current employees for staying true to usa & mi!

Started with the service air bag message (known issue). Then the fuel gauge acted up and finally went to e and stayed.now have and occasional surge in the fuel when i have the brake pressed (known issues).speedometer starting acting up and no longer works (known issue).oh and the check engine light is now always on.started intermittently (again, known issue).was told $500 from dealer when i called to report the service air bag message.recall should apply to this vehicle, i don't know what the vehicle went through before i purchased it.cloth seats/leather seats, the service air bag "sensor" is still broke!don't have the money to fix all the"known" problems.

I was approaching a traffic signal.i hit my brakes when realizing the light was red. The anti-lock brakes locked up and i slid through the light hitting a turning car.this resulted in a frontal impact, but the airbags did not deploy.the vehicle is totaled.

I took a left turn with my 2005 chevy trailblazer ext. And fishtailed on some ice and my side airbags deployed. I have read several other complaints about this on the internet and gm has told those people that the black box said that the airbag system anticipated a rollover and they have not paid to have the damage fixed. I have told gm this has happened and am waiting to hear back from them but am expecting the same verdict that everyone else has received. I don't see how fishtailing on wet pavement, ice, or in some instances or around something can cause airbags to deploy. I have airbags that need to be replaced, the interior roof needs to be replaced, and the seat belts are all locked up and can't be used.

2005 chevrolet trailblazer, speedometer stopped working properly.at 45k miles had the battery replaced and the speedometer hasn't worked properly since.haven't had it repaired yet. I use my aftermarket gps to know my speed.

The speedometer stopped working one random hot day. There were no resulting injuries, incidences or crashes as a result. My trailblazer has yet to have a reliable day where my speedometer works continuously.

Fuel gauge failure.fuel gauge still reads empty after tank is full.the gauge will register having fuel some of the time, most of the time the low fuel indicator will come on.i have to use the odometer to remember to refuel.

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer and it has many problems.but the most dangerous, at this point, is the speedometer stops working.sometimes, it won't get off of zero.other times, it shows that i am going over 120 mph, when in fact, i am going with flow of traffic.at other times, it shows either 15 to 20 miles above or below the speed i am actually driving.there is no common denominator as to when or if the problem starts or stops.it is very, very random.the cost to fix will be over $450.00.there are many other trailblazer owners that are having this same problem.the speedometer problem could be very, very dangerous as the driver does not know how fast, or slow, they are actually driving.

Lights dimming and flashing alternator not charging, wiring problem, dealer has no answer. I have vehicle just started this at 74000 miles, was fine up until that point. Heater fan works intermittently. Ghost electrical problems with door locks, radio , high beams. Very scary to drive.

2005 chevy trailblazer, car just dies intermittently. I have researched this problem with chevys and was surprised to notice the thousands of complaints that are goin unheard from gm and the federal government. Im afraid that this will happen when my wife and kids are driving in the car. This should b investigated imm.

The whole instrument cluster does not work anymore, does not let me know how fast i'm going or how much fuel i have, oil pressure gauge doesn't work, temperature gauge doesn't work... Why hasn't this been recalled? this is very dangerous, considering i have 4 kids that are constantly in the car with me and i have no idea what is going on with my vehicle?? and it also tells me that my fuel level is low, even after i fill my tank. This seems like a very common problem in these vehicles, why has it not been considered a safety issue????

Fuel gauge failed.i ran out of gas on a very busy interstate with my granddaughter in the car.this could have been a major issue had i not been able to get off to the side of the road.it seems this is a common problem in the chevy trailblazer.i took the vehicle to the dealer and they determined it was a fuel sensor in the fuel tank.the repairs cost me almost $300.

I have an 05 chevrolet trailblazer ext 4.2lwith 90000 miles and last march the fuel gauge quit working but not before we ran out of fuel 2 times not knowing that the gauge was giving a false reading.the occurrence happenedon the freeway and once on a busy street. Very scary when you have three innocent little girls under the age of 3 that ride in the vehicle. From doing my research i see this a very common problem and a dangerous one at that because when the truck stops running you lose power steering and power breaking.

The controls in the front doors for the windows stopped working. There was a slightly burnt smell when i got in the car that day. Now there is a clicking sound in my drivers door that happens about every 35-45 seconds even when the vehicle is turned off. When this clicking sound occurs while the vehicle is running my engine loses power. This is also killing my battery every night because it is occurring even with the vehicle turned off with no keys in the ignition. I am afraid it is going to start a fire in my door. There is already a recall for the 2006 and 2007 for this exact same issue. 2005 needs to be added to the list before someone gets hurt.

My 2005 trailblazer started experiencing false readings on the speedometer around 96,000 miles. At first it was off by 5-10 mph then it would correct it's self. Next the oil pressure gauge started with false readings both high, then low, neither accurate. Now it is at a point where the speedometer is no longer reading accurate speed and is not showing any signs of ever re-correcting it's self and the oil pressure gauge as well as the temperature gauge both malfunction on a daily basis in one direction or the other. It appears that this is a known issue with chevy trucks in this class yet the trailblazer is the only model in the class to not be addressed with a recall. If a product is faulty by the manufacturers standard it should be addressed and corrected.

2005 trailblazer. Middle of high way engine stopped and instrument panel went crazy.some time later ignition key worked again.i changed battery but it happened again and when i turned the ignition key to startthe engine, sometimes is work and sometimes id doesn't. Thedealer wanted me to pay for diagnosis fee my car is 46000 out of warranty and as i check internet forum some people have the same trouble and dealer covered the money how can i protect my family with the engine stopping in middle of highway!!!!!!!!

2005 trailblazer speedo stopsworking intermittently. Speed will show 40-50 mph whenstopped or never go above 35 mph during hwy driving.

2005 chevrolet trailblazer instrument (speedometer) cluster is not working.apparently this is a common defect with the trailblazer.it simply stopped working, and now i am trying to save the money to replace the $500 cluster & in the meantime use other traffic to gauge my speed.the fuel gauge stopped working as well.

2005 chevy trailblazer actually my problem started about 2yrs ago when my gas gauge went out. Thenyear later i was sitting in traffic and once i got back up to speed my speedometer went out and quit workin. It would jump around and then sometimes appear to be reading correctly then jump to zero or way over past 90 which of course i was not going that fast. Now my oil pressure gauge and temperature gauge are going out as well. After checking for recalls i see now there have been alot of complaints with this issue in the same year vehicle but no recalls. If this many vehicles are having similar issues why isn't chevy making it right? i know mechanical things happen after owning a vehicle but not the same thing to this many vehicles.

1. Fuel gauge failed in october 2006, paid for repair and it failed again in november, 2007.2. Speedometer jerks and on occasion locks up or does not reset to zero at stopping.cluster needs replacement.this happened the first time on december 16, 2008 and has happened several times since.

2005 tb ext, summer of last year the computer had to be replaced, about 6 months ago the speedometer quit working, the check engine light stays on, the gas gauge wont work, the heater wont work on 5 and there is no heat in the front vents, the oil light does not work,, i have had it aligned but the back tires keep going bald,,it looses power so bad,,,,i went out this morning and the headlights wont go off and now my battery is dead...what else is left to go wrong??? i have 5 small kids and someone is going to get hurt because this vehicle is defective and no one wants to take responsibility to fix it..so now when is someone going to fix this problem ?if i spend $24,000 on this used vehicle with only 30,000 miles on it when i bought it feb 2008 it could at least run decent..you would think it would be cheaper for chevrolet to fix this vehicle than to have a lawsuit.

Speedometer quit working on my 2005 chevy trailblazer as i was on the highway (i-75).at first it was reading 20 to 55 miles per hour faster than i was actually going and an hour later it quit all together. At this time it does not shoe a reading at all.very hard to determine speed without a speedometer in heavy trafficand creates a hazard to other drivers and myself.

As you can see from below the complaint, seems i got a call from nikki at gm or chevy and they stated i need to bring vehicle in, pay for the diagnostic and then maybe they can decide on what to do, i believe this issue has gone on for 5 years now and they should be checking to see what the issue is...could be faulty wiring, which can lead to a fire, safety issue, could be a false warning or worse a real warning, as you can see in the link i enclosed to them, many people paying big dollars to not have this issue resolved, how long does this go on, i am hoping you guys can step in for us and hopefully light a fire and get gm and chevy to finally look into this matter..they are good about crying no sales and need the infraction from the gov to stay afloat, seems the big wigs just needed their wallets fattened, because they is no concern or worries about a safety issue, even the gauges are not working, can you please help us out, [xxx]name:[xxx]email address: [xxx]address: [xxx]day phone: ()-- exevening phone: [xxx]excomments: i have my check engine light on, can't seem to figure what is the problem onmy 2005 trailblazer, went to this site http://www.carcomplaints.com/chevrolet/trailblazer/2005/electrical/check engine light is on.shtmland low and behold, i am not alone ...are you guys going to help us with this problem, at least tell us why this light goes on, please, it can cost thousands to fix but never have it fixed, even my battery gauge has seemed to die, and the gas gauge seems to flex on it's on also, as you can see some people are just leaving chevy behind, how about some help, you guys used to be good, what happened, i believe this needs a recall to fix this issue...[xxx]vehicle concern info:nature of concern: vehiclemodel:year: 2005vin number:[xxx]mileage: 800051allow phone contact: yesbest time for phone contact: pm.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. The contact stated that the when there was moisture in the air, the driver side master switch failed to operate without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v248000 (electrical system, visibility). The failure mileage was 139,000.

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer in dec. 2009 i filled the car with gas and the fuel gauge immediately registered empty the fuel sensor has failed it will cost $558.00 to repair.in february the speedometer registered 120 mph while sitting still for a stop sign now the speedometer does not work.i contacted gen motors in detroit, michigan and was asked to have diagnostic done at ed bozart chevorlet. By a representative in consumer complaints they contacteddistrict representative for chevy and they both said that there is nothing they can do to help us. The total cost to fix our car is $1,258.00. We were told to fix the car for safety reasons and if they decided to recall the trailblazer we might be reimbursed.there are several complaints in the computer concerning the same problems with this car.

Speedometer quit working.

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer that when driving at times the lights go bright and them dim when accelerating also makes a noise from the engine, also after sitting for the weekend would have to jump start and keys would stay locked in ignition i have searched the web for anyone having similar problems and i am glad to say that i am not imagining this, when we took to dealer they could not find anything wrong. Please investigate this problem i will add link to web site of forum where other people are having the same problem with this vehicle. This is a safety related issue due to driving @ night when the lights go dim is dangerous, please help. Here is the web site http://www.topix.net/forum/autos/chevrolet-trailblazer/tucllqk4uif5na0ut.

My chevy trailblazer 2005 model accelerated in the parking lot as i was turning it on and put it in drive with my foot over the brake, it accelerated and jumped 3 feet before i stopped it.i am very thankful, no car was in front of me!

My husband was driving on the interstate at about 65-70 mph. All of a sudden it dropped down to 40 and we immediately pulled over and turned off the ignition. The needle was still reading 40. We were three hours from home and had no choice but to continue driving. Once we got within an hour from our house it started working correctly. Three days ago i was driving by myself and it happened again. The needle is stuck on 60 mph and my car is parked in the driveway. Please address this issue asap i don't think i should be driving around in a vehicle that isn't operating correctly just because i didn't choose to buy an escalade, tahoe, or suburban. Vehicles that have the same problem and were issued a recall.

My 2005 chevrolet trailblazer started at 60,000 miles having my speedometergoing crazy and it finally stuck at 120 and only moved occasionally moved i tried to go with the flow of traffic, but ended up getting a ticket...the first in my 50 years of driving. I went to get it fixed, but found out even though it was a defect in the electrical harness, chevrolet was only fixing it in certain of their expensive models.it was going to cost me over $500, which i cannot afford.i use my gps to watch my mileage.now the gas gauge stopped working, the cd player, and the other gauges are in question...plus my lights blink off at night.i am a senior and cannot afford to get another car, or even fix this problem.i have found many complaints on the trailblazer for the same problem.chevrolet should have to make this right.my car has a little over 80,000 miles and i want to keep it the rest of my life.please help.

Once my warranty ran out, the gas gauge quit working and a couple weeks after that the speedometer quit working.i have researched online and found many people who are having the same problems with the same make and model car. The repairs are very costly.the repair should be fixed through a vehicle recall since so many others with the same vehicle are having the identical problem.

I have a 2005 chevy trail blazer the lights would flicker at night thought was battery had it checked out thebattery was bad that was back in sept. Then around jani am driving down the road and doing 70 on the interstate and my speedometer goes from 70 to 120 mph and then goes down to neutrallights are flicking again as well and battery is fine.

Gas guage reads empty even though full tank, battery and temp gauge also go up and down, check engine light is on. I know of more than 8 people with similar vehicles of different model years with same issue. Chevy sent a letter saying that they would pay 50% for the repair of the of the instrument clusterif the vehicle had less than 120,00 miles or was 10 years old or less. My vehicle now has 146,000 miles, but the problem started a year ago when there were only approx. 120,000 miles on it. I feel that this is a safety issue being that my wife transports my children in this vehicle and should i neglect to tell her she needs fuel, she runs the risk of being stranded somewhere with my family, or worse on a heavily traveled road where the vehicle could stall with no warning.thank you for your time.

Purchased the 2005 trailblazer with 49,000 miles.at 50,000 miles the speedometer stopped working properly.when i slowed down from going 70 miles per hour, the needle stayed on 70 and when i accelerated it would act as though 70 was the new 0. Now the speedometer points down past the 120 mph mark and will not budge.gm told me that it not under warranty and it will cost over $500 to fix.

Speedometer shows incorrect reading.

While driving down the highway, the door locks began to operate intermittently, locking and unlocking.the door locks also operate while parked in the garage and the vehicle is off.there is a buzzing sound in the door and the locks have completely drained a rather new battery.a new battery was installed, but the buzzing and the intermittent operation of the door locks continue.i was told there was a recall on some vehicles for this same problem, but gm tells me there was no recall on this particular vin.during a call to gm, i was told there was a "rather large recall" pending that would be finalized the middle of january.i was advised because of the problem to take my vehicle to a dealer to have it repaired and gm would reimburse my cost "if it was involved in a recall".in a subsequent call to gm, the person i spoke with said there was no pending recall for this vin at this time.because of the same problems in other gm trailblazer models, i was advised by the dealer i contacted not to park in the garage because of the possibility of fire due to a possible electrical short in the door module.

Vehicle instrument failure during driving. The speedometer will jump and read between 15-80 miles per hour off, usually high but has read low. This leads to either excess or slow speed, both conditions are dangerous in freeway and winter driving conditions. There is a recall for this problem on every other chevy vehicle from 2003 to 2005 on a truck base but not this model. There is also failures in both voltage and oil pressure gauges, each have led to making emergency stops on the freeway to check for problems. Problem can be corrected by turning car on and off multiple times (10-20) to reset gauges.

Blowers (defrost/defog ~ heat a/c) intermittently work. Dial goes from 1-5 and today ifeither blower level #2 and #5 is selected, blower will cut off.last month it was #1 and sometimes #5.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer is completely going crazy it seems everything electrical is going wrong with it. I am afraid to let my wife or my kids drive in it because i never know what's going to go wrong while driving. My whole gas system is gone from fuel level indicator to the gauge. My entire dashboard is not working. Lights are going out. What is crazy about this is that i am one of thousands that this is happening to. Chevy needs to fix this problem before someone does get killed. Waiting for fatalities before making chevy fixes there awfully made vehicles is unacceptable. I understand the situation our economy is in but these thousands of trailblazer owners that are having these problems shouldn't be paying thousands of dollars to be getting there entire electrical problem fixed. I do not know one owner of a 2006 trailblazer that does not have this same problem. It is unethical and chevy instead of stepping up and fixing there problem are making there loyal customers spend thousands of dollars fixing there mistake. It is truly sad that i do not trust taking my vehicle with my family in it because of being afraid my vehicle will fail to drive or malfunction. Please hold chevy accountable and make them fix our poorly mad and unsafe vehicles so we can feel safe driving our family around again.

Since october 2014 the speedometer would randomly start up at different initial points. Some days it would start at 60 mph, 10mph and recently it starts up at 110mph.when the vehicle is in motion the needle would move when accelerating but the readings are completely inaccurate.i have read various online blogs of this same incident happening to numerous chevy trailblazers in general.gm does not have this problem as a recall therefore i would formally like to make a complaint.thank you for your time.

Heater, defrost does not work.blower will not blow.all components have been replaced.

Speedometer goes haywire, first 150mph then 40 then 60 , it goes all over the place. I believe this is a major safety issue. I've checked into it and thousands of people are experiencing the same issues. This is my wife daily driver and she transports my kids in this vehicle.

The speedometer has broke.it is an electrical thing.our gas gauge, something electrical has also broke.we had that fixed for $400.00 and now our speedometer is broke.it never works now, so you don't know how fast you are going.

Fuel gauge quit working.now the oil pressure gauge works only some of the time.

Speedometer fails to register properly so you don't know how fast or slow you are driving; this could cause serious injury when driving on the freeway and/or up/down hills.when idling, speedometer would show from 60 to 120 mph; reset of speedometer only lasted until next engine start.

For the 3rd time the cluster has gone out.this results in the speedometer, temperature gauge and others to stop working.each time i am expected to take my vehicle to a chevrolet mechanic for diagnosis and part replacement at $700.00+ each time.this model has no recall.i am fed up with paying this much every 3-4 years for a defective part.there has never been any sign before it goes out.

Speedometer stopped working stays pointing at 60 mph and will rise from there after stopping vehicle.

I own a 2005 trailblazer, the first problem had to do with the gas not pumping. It would cause the pump to cut off. The passenger seat's plastic side broke off and now the driver's seat is broke. The driver's lumbar selector quit working.the speedometer has stopped working. I use my gps.then the fuel gauge quit working, the "dummy light" stays on all the time. Cd is hung up in the radio. The front fan for ac/heating quit working.the other fans work and the ac cools.evidently there are alot of complains with this certain make/model gm should fix the problems. If they don't fix my problems my nest car will certainly not be an american made one because i haven't seen alot of pride when we have to beg to get our cars fixed when shoddy parts are used on our cars.

Uncommented actuation of door locks, lock / unlock several times, brake system failure light illuminated, abs light illuminated, check engine light illuminated, drive gear indicator shown 1st gear regardless of gear selected on gearshift, engine having trouble making power, operating very rough. Alarm bell enunciating for short time. Intentionally shut car down, restart no change. Fuel gauge, oil pressure gauges, temp gage read normally.

There is already a recall out for the 2006 model year, but i know that mine is part of it.i have a 2005 trailblazer and the headlights keep intermittently going out as i am driving down the road.this problem as happened to me before in the past and i was able to finally remedy the issue by replacing the relay.the problem has now returned and i have even been pulled over multiple times for it.after doing a quick google search today i discovered that there are tons!!!!! of people with the same issue going back as far as 2002.http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chevrolet-trailblazer/t32jtl93i9fkauf4nhttp://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=47492http://chevroletforum.com/forum/trailblazer-27/2003-trailblazer-headlights-2588/i also ran across that gm has issued a recall for headlights, but it only covers years 2006-2008.http://fortune.com/2014/12/01/gm-recalls-316000-vehicles-because-of-malfunctioning-headlights/clearly!!!! this problem is not limited to those years and there are a lot of people suffering from the same issue of not being able to see at night..what do i need to do so that i can get this problem taken care of?please respond quickly as winter is rapidly approaching and this is a daily driver for me.i go to work early in the morning when it is dark and by the time i come home again it is already getting dark.it would be nice to actually be able to see as i am going down the road and even to have others be able to see me coming as well.

Vehicle shocks me & all occupants almost every time we exit the vehicle. Gm refuses to acknowledge there is a problem. I have been to 3 dealers to resolve the problem

My speedometer and oil gauge just quit working for no apparent reason and does not come back on until hours later.

Speedometer does not record proper speed.

I purchased a 2005 chevy trailblazer less than a year ago.since that time the vehicle has been in the service center four different times.each time the vehicle has failed to start.the dealer states that the rear hatch module continues to short out.this module causes the entire vehicle to short out.i have expressed my concerns with the safety of this vehicle with the dealer and have not gotten anywhere.i an a single mother of a two year old.i am only interested in the safety of my child.jack schmitt chevrolet of o'fallon illinois will not stand behind the vehicle that they sold or admit that there is a problem.the last time i brought my vehicle in for this problem they told me that it was the ignition.when i came to pick up the vehicle after they had "fixed" it, the vehicle would not start.they admitted that it was in fact the rear hatch module again and that they had made an educated guess the first time in order to save time.i would like someone to hold this dealership responsible for the defect in this car and to stop giving consumers the run around.

Lowered the driver's power window & it didn't go back up. Opened & closed door & tried button a few more times, then it went up.unsure of burn smell as i was on highway. Checked again while stationary & window button non functional. Noted that interior dome light did not light when door opened & all power buttons in driver's door (windows, locks, mirrors) rendered non-functional. Also noted that this door does not respond to remote keyfob for lock/unlock, and door by-passes alarm system. Alarm can be set, door opened with key and alarm will only trigger when key is put into ignition, but unarms when ignition cranks. It should also be noted that the driver's door is the only door that has a key lock mechanism. The rest of the vehicle relies on remote or door switches.approximately one year later i opened the door (as i could not put the window down) and the interior dome light lit, so i tried the power lock button and it worked. Twice. The entire door again went dead/non-responsive.without window access, the door must be opened on highways with toll booths. The lack of interior light, inability to readily access the door locks, and the alarm by-pass creates a security issue. The inability to adjust the mirrors creates a safety issue, as the window cannot be lowered.the driver's door no longer locks when the vehicle is put into drive. The scariest thing is that the controls simply stopped. Why? a short in the system is a very logical possibility, especially with the random functioning just a year later.i have noted multiple issues on repair sites referencing this problem with 2005 trailblazers, and as of today (6/15/13) saw a recall for a short in the door for 2006/7 trailblazers. If the same issue is occurring with other years, wouldn't it follow that it was a flaw that should be reviewed in all trailblazers of the same body styling?

Speedometer not reading prper speed.stays at o sometimes, and then you could be going 25, and it reads 75.

Our 2005 chevy trailblazer speedometer stopped working.this has happened on many of these vehicles.it is a very expensive fix and it's a danger to drivers not knowing how fast they are traveling.

The dash component went out, leaving all of the gauges broken, including the speedometer and gas gauge. Also, the fuel sensor is broken so in order to have a working gas gauge, both the dash system and the fuel sensor must be fixed. The doors lock automatically and sometimes won't unlock if they were locked when the car was turned off until the car is turned on again. It takes them 2 weeks to fix the problem!! meanwhile, we have run out of gas, almost causing an accident, and continually have to gauge our speed by the speed of others around us, if we are lucky to be traveling where there are others who hopefully are doing the speed limit. It's going to cost about $1500 to fix it all and have a rental car for the 2 week period it takes them to fix it. It can't be fixed by a non-gm service center because gm has to reprogram the electrical system once it is fixed so it would then have to be towed to a gm dealer anyway and would cost even more. Meanwhile, we and those driving around us are at more risk because of these defects.

I have had the following problems with my 2005 chevy trailblazer ext ls:2008: fuel sensor failure, running board fell off2009:head and tail lights going out frequently, windows would get stuck- could not go up or down- all dash lights flashing, car stalling out- needed circuit board replaced. Anti-theft non-functioning.2010:windshield wipers will not shut off(replaced display board), idle pulley needs to be replaced , 4x4 running rough and making a sound, speedometer non-functioning, radio stopped working, glove box lock broke, heat/ac stopped working first on blowers 4& 5 then stopped completelyi have not been able to afford to fix all these repairs, as it exceeds $2,000. Car is over warranty and was brought used from aformer gm dealer at under 50k. I contacted gm in november 2010 and they stated that they my vehicle was out of warranty and they could not assist me. Gm initiated contactin december of 2010 and told me to get a full diagnosis of the problems and stated that it was ok to go to the former gm dealer. I paid over $100 for this diagnosis and they stated that my vehicle was out of warranty and they cannot provide any assistance whatsoever.

Speedometer gauge is malfunctioning.when traveling 65 mph, the speedometer reads that i am going faster than 120 mph.when i shut the engine off the needle falls to about 70 mph.in town, the speedometer shows around 90 mph.there is no way to tell how fast i am going.*tw

Electrical issues:vehicle dashboard lights will show door gate open, doom lights wil be on, ringing bell when the door would be open and yet its actually closed, as all continues to go at any given time when the vehicle is in movement. Speed odometer gage doesn't read when vehicle is in movement and the gas gage doesn't read the correct level of showing how much gas is in vehicle. This is a big safety issues cause it has me worried of not knowing how much gas i have before it runs out of gas risking myself and others because vehicle all of a suddenness loses speed and shuts down.

Our 2005 chevy trailblazer has a non working fuel gauge and speedometer.we have 4 children.2 of which live out of state and we drive back and forth several times a month from sc to tn to pick them up.when the fuel gauge went out we were annoyed but we just top the gas tank off often, but the speedometer that just started sticking we have no idea how to handle.we don't have the money to get it fixed but we travel so much for such long distances that it is extremely dangerous.when researching online i see that this is a very common problem yet chevy has not issued a recall.if chevy does not issue a recall for these we will not ever trust chevy products again.the safety of american families obviously does not matter to them.only our bail out money.

At this time the speedometer started misreading and continues through today.then the fuel gauge stopped reading and after that the oil pressure gauge & amp gauge started misreading. I talked to the local chevrolet dealership and they told me i would have to pay for the repairs.

I have encountered a problem with the speedometer not working properly or not working at all in some cases, sometimes get stuck at a certain speed

The dash board cluster stop working so the amount of gas i put in the car does not show how much. The speed of the car i can't tell how fast i'm going.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer lt speedometer has gone haywire.it will work and all of a sudden it drops to below zero.it will occasionally hover between 5-10 mph and then drop again.since it fails to show what your true speed is, it is a very hazardous condition.

2 gauges in ipc have malfunctioned: the speedometer and the fuel gauge. The speedometer needle begins to "stick" at 60 mph mark and does not reset back to zero after turning the ignition off. In fact, while on the freeway, the speedometer will often go past 120 mph mark. The fuel gauge needle sticksat the "empty" mark.common sense dictates that driving a vehicle without any clue as to how fast or how much fuel you have is hazardous. My research has determined that gm has recalled the ipc for other 2003, 2004 & 2005 cadillac, chevrolet and gmc models but not the 2005 chevy trailblazer.

2005 chevy trailblazer speedometer quit working. Sometimes reads 120mph.called dealer-they said many have same problem- called gm they said different. Would not fix, this is a safety hazard.

Iown a 2005 chevy trailblazer and the speedometer and gas gauge have both stopped working. I started having problems august 2009 when i filled up the gas tank i left the gas station and it said i was on empty. I turned back around and went back to the same gas station and the manager tried to fill it up and it showed i had a full tank at the pump. It started to work again but then it would fluctuate back and forth. Now it's just not working at all for me. The other problem i have is that the speedometer went haywire. I would show i would be going 10 mph and actually was going 50 mph. Then when i would stop it showed while in park 70 mph. I would have to then turn off and on my car to zero it out. The speedometer is stuck past the 140 mph mark and has moved. This is very dangerous because i have 5 kids and this is the vehicle i use to transport us. What if i get a ticket for going to fast or to slow and what if i run out of gas on the highway. This is very scary and unsafe. I was told by a friend to see about any recalls and found none. I then contacted gm and they told me i have to take it a gm dealer for a diagnostic but there is no guarantee they would cover the cost. They said because of the mileage and year that it's from normal wear and tear i have never had a problem with any vehicle like this before. How convenient after the warranty goes out i have this problem. After looking online for recalls i found several other similar cases of the same year, make and model with less mileage having the same issues. I did ask the gm representative for somewhere else to file a complaint and they stated that they were it. I'm very unsatisfied with gm and the policies and i don't feel as if they are really concerned with these issues.

I have 2005 chevrolet trailblazer 4wd ext ls 4.2 liter.i noticed over past 3 years that i be at drive through for burgers and etc.the car would cut off.i did not think much of it at the time.it has gotten critically worse.it would cut off in middle of the highway, drive throughs and etc.during the past two years i have re the luster and over head dome light flicker.head lights very dimon driving alsoi have replaced on this vehiclethe fuel throttle and sensor, a crank sensor a cam sensor, a temp sensor 4 power steering pumps new the power steering rack and assembly wheel hubs and bearings, all new coils spark plugs, belt idle pulley power steering pulley change oil every 3,000 miles air filter change battery, updated soft ware, flush fuel system, service the air conditionreplaced rear shocks, gm relaced pulley on engine 2010replaced the pvc hoseflush radiator and brake system, rotation and alignment done every 5000 miles, replaced headlight low beam bulbs and left tail light assembly and lens,i had it to chevroletprivate mechanic garage and nothing is reading wrongalso notice the ecm not storing the service engine light stay a microsecond on.this highly dangerous can stal or quit and be run over on highway.i noticed on the web on cars complaint.com amany people have cmplainted this issue.chevrolet had investigated ths issue aaaaand no resolve.i felt the vehihicle may have a short r a bad alternator or starter..vehivle was sitting at intersectioni noticed it tries to stall on driving also.all records are with car.

While driving down the highway at about 60mph, i noticed the speedometer was reading 120mph.at the next stop light, with the vehicle not in motion, the speedometer read 60mph.the needle is now erratic and jumps all over.looking on the internet, there are many others with the same issue.

The speedometer in my trailblazer extended will "get stuck" on occasion.the problem has become much worse over the past few weeks since it has been so cold.i also notice it more when it is raining outside. This occurs at least once to twice a week.i haven't taken my vehicle to the dealer yet because i looked online and saw that this is occurring on many of the same type vehicles.obviously chevrolet should be responsible for this and i refuse to pay for something when someone else has '!@#$% up.

Speedometer keeps getting stuck. Chevy has been told about it. But they want me to pay another 500 to fix it. And this is the second time. They have had recalls on the 2003 and 2004 for the same thing. But will not admit the 2005 .

I own a 2005 trailblazer ext and the speedometer does not work.it is a chronic problem according to research that i have conducted.it is a safety issue as well.gm needs to take responsibility and recall the instrument cluster.the speedometer fails everytime that i drive it.the dealership stated that the cluster is going to run about $400, which does not include labor.

My husband bought the car used for me for christmas 2013. I was driving through the city when i looked down to see how fast i was going the speedometer said 0 it remained that way until the next day.i started it the next day it seemed fine but after a 1/2 mile i noticed i sped up and speedometer was going down until it finally went to 0.i have been driving with a speedometer that doesn't work. I looked online and seen that a lot of other consumers were having the same problem some with much less mileage.

2005 chevy trailblazer ext - speedometer has ceased to work.i either says i am going zero or 120 mph.have now gotten 2 speeding tickets and can not get inspected until this issue is resolved.i have been on the internet for hours now and there are hundreds and hundreds of complaints for thesame thing with the same year chevy trailblazers.next step according to most is the gas gauge ceasing to work.this really needs to be on the recall list like the other chevy vehicles with the same issue.

The speedometer started sticking and then it got stuck on 160 mph. It will not move. It is very dangerous to drive the vehicle because you have no idea how fast or slow that you are going and you pose a risk to others as well. Chevrolet would not cover it under their recall even though they have already recalled 2003-2004 trailblazers for the same problem. My vehicle has 59000 miles on it .the repair for the instrument panel cluster will cost over 900 dollars here in germany where we are stationed with the us military. We can not afford to repair it yet.

2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext ls. The speedometer gets stuck and does not work properly. This is a safety hazard.

Speedometer on my 2005 chevy trailblazer ext does not register accurate speed.it will work intermittentlyy although has been proven to not be accurate.it will stick at zero or at 120 mph and generally goes "haywire" while in motion although it does not seem to matter if it is hot, cold, wet or dry outside and does not matter if i have my heater or air conditioner on.sometimes it will reset itself after i shut off the vehicle but not always.i have not replaced any parts at this time due to the cost involved.($500.00) i have received a speeding ticket due to the inaccuracy of the speedometer.(only ticket in 16 years!!!)i was unable to speak with the officer about the issue because i received the ticket in the mail and would have had to take time off work and travel 2 hours to contest the ticket.i need that extra money to pay for the repair on the vehicle to avoid any further tickets!i have owned this vehicle for 1.5 years and have minimal problems until this.i love my blazer but really need an accurate speedometer.vehicle has 69,000 miles on it.i have put 20k+ miles on it since i have owned it.

I have a 2005 trailblazer ext.the gas gauge and speedometer are both broken.i did not realize this until i ran out of gas in the middle of a busy three lane highway.my speedometer did not become clear until i found myself at a complete stop with the speedometer registering 30 mph.

My speedometer has quit working. It will register 30mph and i'm probably going 70 when i'm keeping up with the traffic on the highway. Most of the time it doesn't work at all. This just started on the 25th of december. We have noticed on the internet that this is happening to several gm vehicles. There is other recalls on these other vehicles and we think the 2005 trailblazer should also be included.

2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext speedometer not working. At a stop it reads 50 mph.

Stepper motors in the instrument panel all went out in three separate gauges. Speedometer, alternator and oil pressure gauges. Items failed and gauges became erratic and then pointed either straight down or pegged left or right. Giving incorrect or no reading.

Speedometer no longer working on my mother's 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. Very hazardous. Air/heat will not blow in the front vents and do not work on setting number 5.

Gas gauge and speedometer does not work on a 2005 trailblazer. I have seen many complaints on this.

2005 chevy trailblazer has a problem with the speedometer reading inaccurately. The readings are erratic.

My speedometer stopped working around six months ago and now the oil level gauge has stopped working. From what i've been reading it is only a matter of time before the fuel gauge goes out. This is absurd that this hasn't been recalled since there are countless complaints concerning the instrument panel.

Heater blower is going out, then goes back on if i touch the wires going into the motor housing. Now the speedometer is going wacky. Shows 120 mph never goes back to zero. This is an ongoing problem with gm please investigate.

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer ext.as i was driving to work this morning i noticed that my speedometer kept increasing speed 80+ then finally went to 120 then dropped to the bottom.it stays at the bottom of the meter so it doesn't read anything.as i'm google this problem it appears that this seems to be a common happening.i called the dealer and they are like that happens to those cars all the time but no recall.this is terrible we (american people) just bailed gm out and now they have these issues with their vehicles and don't do anything about them.they should be made to stand behind their products.why buy american when they treat you like this???????????

The dash board cluster stop working so the amount of gas i put in the car does not show how much. The speed of the car i can't tell how fast i'm going.

Speedometer quit working. The dealer said that this happens a lot to the trailblazer but chevy has not recalled it. I have also seen numerous complaints on various websites concerning the same problem.

2005 trailblazer faulty fuel sensor.fuel gauge reads empty all the time.has not been repaired.ip cluster replaced first at cost of $400.00.

Speedometer and other instrument panel items are not functioning. Main issue is the speedometer as i have no idea how fast i am going.

Speedometer on 2005 ext trailblazer reading 25mph higher and never going back to zero.

My 2005 trailblazer speedometer stops working. While driving the speedometer will read 120 mph or more while i am only driving 70 mph. I verify my speed through my garmin gps. This happens for no rhyme or reason sometimes it works fine and the next minute it is broken again. This is extremely dangerous as i was traveling 250 miles on the highway and thought i was traveling at 70 mph but i was really doing 50. The problem was that everyone including semi trucks where whizzing by my and i couldn't figure out why. This caused me to be almost run off the road as a semi almost rear ended me as he slammed his brakes on. I have not been able to fix the problem yet as gm wants 450 dollars to fix a problem that should be recalled. I have read hundreds of posts online about this exact problem on 2005 trailblazers. Apparently there is a recall on other gm vehicles with this speedometer just not on the trailblazer.

I have a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext. Couple months ago the speedometer started acting up, i will be driving and it will stop reading my speed and going down to 0, it will get back to normal after i turn off the car and turn it back on, did that couple times, not very often, then started getting stuck on whatever speed i was going, and didn't matter if was slowing down or going faster, will stay at that speed on the speedometer, couple days ago started to go nuts, now when i am stopped reads i am at 20 or 30 mph, and when i am going 30 or 40 starts going up and down, marking 100 mph when i am actually going just 40 mph, i have read several complaints about this problem with this same vehicle, a recall was issued for older models, but nothing for the 2005, i don't have the money to fix it right now, and i have to use my gps unit to know how fast i am going, and avoid getting pull over or cause an accident, but i am not the only one with this problem, i will like to have chevrolet take ownership of the problem, it is a safety issue, and is clearly a chevy issue nota consumer one, we paid for a product that supposed to work properly and it is not.

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer ext with 47,000 miles on it.while driving on the highway, i noticed that the speedometer read 120mph.my first instinct was to hit the brakes which i did and the car almost spun out of control.i finally realized that the speedometer was broken.i called the dealer and they will not fix it because the warranty has expired.this is unbelievable!and it seems to be a common problem with trailblazers.i can't believe that there isn't a recall for a dangerous problem such as this.

Gas gauge failed at 40,000 miles.the needle will not move off of "e".for a short time it would actually read 1/4 full when the tank was full now it doesn't move.the warning ding goes off periodically.in addition to the gas gauge problem the blower on the heater/ac no longer works on the high setting.this car is barely two years old, there is no excuse for poor quality in american made car's!of course these items failed after the warranty expired.at 15,000 miles the electrical component that controls the turn signals failed.engaged the turn signal to turn right and the left turn signal came on.....oh well, at least that was under warranty.

On approximately november 11, 2008, while driving home, i noticed that the speedometer on my 2005 chevy trailblazer with 45000 miles was reading a speed that was less than my senses indicated.after stopping, i noticed that the speedometer was approximately 10 mph under zero, or that the speedometer was reading 10 mph less than actual.overnight, the speedometer reset back to zero.the same action occurred again approximately december 18, 2008, january 9, 2009, and february 5, 2009.after looking at the internet, i discovered that this defect was occurring on numerous 2003 through 2005 gm vehicles.i contacted gm and was told thatthey were taking responsibility for 2003 and 2004 trucks, but not my 2005 trailblazer.this defect has caused me to exceed the speed limit without my knowledge on numerous occasions.

Speedometer quit working, first 70mph then 90 then 120 , it started bouncing around all over the place. Now it has quit working all together. I believe this is a major safty issue. I have checked into it and thousands of people are experiencing the same issues. This is my wife daily driver and she transports my kids in this vehicle. Chevy needs to man up and address this issue.

This is in addition to complaint 10410347.after purchasing 2005 chevy. Trailblazer (joyce buick, mansfield, ohio) noticed instrument cluster gauges fluctuating and making strange noise.my mechanic advise take to dealer for faulty system, since was still under warranty(3 mo. Warranty).they replaced the instrument cluster cable, still not operating properly, discovered after reading owners manual that gas gauge should always register at gas level, not return to empty when turning off ignition.now the gas gauge is not function properly as reported in previous complaint.at purchase noticed ac not cooling, joyce buick added coolant and supposedly performed dye test prior to taking possession, reported no leak in sept. 2010. By april/may 2011 ac not working again.found leak and replaced hose that runs to back of vehicle, (pre-existing condition.)i feel that this vehicle was not properly serviced prior to re-sale.some conditions covered under 3 mo. Warranty or pre-existing condition and now more issues continue to arise after warranty has expired, ie gas gauge not properly registering fuel level and the instrument cluster gauges still fluctuating. Researched and understand could be some motor relating to instrument cluster.

I parked the 2005 trailblazer in the garage after a short trip to pick up a neighbors child.two hours later when i went to start my car to take the child home, my key would not turn.steering wheel was not locked ( it could be turned and turn the wheels)trans was locked.i read on online forums that others have had issues like this, one guy said that he was able to pull back on his shifter and turn the key at the same time.this did not work for me as the trans shifter was locked. Result, tow, and replace switch.

Window switch panel on drivers door caught fire overnight while parked in garage.no problems before this event. Fuse blew stopping the electric current and the fire burnt out on its own. I discovered the damage in the morning as i was getting in the vehicle to drive to work.

Exhaust manifold developed a leak while driving on interstate 40 between nashville and jackson tn.driver and passengers developed headaches and drowsiness before leak was discovered by sound during stop for gas.

Gas gauge, shoes it has a different amount of gas..when turned off it can say its at 1/2 a tank, then when the engine is on it shows that car has 1 1/2 tanks of gas. Its not consistent and i always have to guess how much gas is in the car. Also the check light is always on.the gas tank has issues too.

Stop it starts jerking and check engine light flashs head went bad at 109 thosand miles

My 05 trailblazer keeps shutting off while driving down a city street. In a 2-mile stretch it shut off 5 times with complete loss of steering control almost causing a serious accident. The vehicle trembled and then turned off. It has shut off on me while driving on three other occasions on previous years but it only occurred once and then stopped on those occasions.

2005 trailblazer. Middle of high way engine stopped and instrument panel went crazy.some time later ignition key worked again.i changed battery but it happened again and when i turned the ignition key to startthe engine, sometimes is work and sometimes id doesn't. While driving my 2005 chevytrailblazer it just turned off without warning, as soon as it did the check engine light and reduced engine power light came on(instrument panel and radio were still working). I tried a few times to turn it back on but it failed to restart. 15 minutes later it restarted and i was able to drive to my workplace a few blocks away, by the time i used my vehicle again(about 3hrs later) both engine lights had turned off. We took our vehicle to an auto repair shop to see if they could diagnose the problem, they recommended that we take it to a gm dealership because there were numerous codes showing up on the diagnostic machine. We took it to a local gm dealership in indio, ca (coachella valley buick gmc). They too said that numerous codes were coming up but after 1 1/2 days with our vehicle they stated thatthe ignition switch needed to be replaced. We took it in to auto repair shop and he performed the repair that gmc stated was needed. Upon picking up the vehicle from the repair shop i drove home, as i was pulling into the garage it turned off, a repeat of the same issue we were having before replacing the ignition switch. Since this was on sat,05-03-2014 we had to wait until the afternoon of mon, 05/05/2014 to take it back to the dealership, we informed them that we had their recommended repair done and that the vehicle continued to turn off. The following day they informed me that they could not replicate the problem and that we could pick up the vehicle. On thurs., 05/08/2014 the vehicle turned off while making a left turn. 20 minutes later it turned back on and he drove it back to the dealership, they then had the vehicle until 05/12/2014; again they stated that they could not replicate the problem.it has continued to repeat this same problem, again without any warning or indication that there is a problem.

Lights dimming and brightening, engine coils misfiring and needing to be constantly replaced (2nd time) and fuel gauge constantly stating tank is empty (many, many complaints about this; check the blogs).

My chevy trailblazer 2005 model accelerated in the parking lot as i was turning it on and put it in drive with my foot over the brake, it accelerated and jumped 3 feet before i stopped it.i am very thankful, no car was in front of me!

I have a 2005 trailblazer extpurchased new in july 05. Recently while driving, the car had reduced engine power, the check engine light then came on then my car just shut off. It started back up after pulling off the road but had to endure this the entire time while driving home. When i took it in for diagnosis i was told the accelerator pedal sensor needed to be repaired after having that repaired i drove home and the same thing happened with the check engine light and the car shutting off while driving. When i took it back again theynoticed an additional problem " the fuel level sensor wiring was chaffing on fuel pump ground terminal" or in layman's term the wire was sitting in fuel so they had to remove the fuel tank and reroute the wires. This sounds very dangerous and if this is happening please report it. There are tsb reports on the issue with the accelerator pedal but gm has not issued a recall on this. The question is why not? i have also had to have the output shaft seal on the transmission replaced last year and again this year. Not very happy with this vehicle. In my opinion these are vehicle defects not problems you should be having with the normal maintenance issues. Gm needs to issue recalls to have these issues resolved. Oh in addition to the other problems i also justhad to have the thermostat replaced in early june.

Fan motor only works on 1-4 settings, after a few weeks no setting works. Inspecting fan blower found burnt wires leading to the resistor, external before harness. New resistor and harness are needed to remedy.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving various speeds, the engine stalled without warning.afterward, the engine easily restarted.the vehicle was inspected by a dealer who was unable to duplicate the problem.the manufacturer was alerted.updated 09/12/06.

Under normal driving conditions the exhaust manifold cracked with 70,000 miles on vehicle.

My 05 chevy trailblazer ext lt with 4.2 l cracked its exhaust manifold at 85,000 kms. Gm dealership in 2 different cities refused to repair under warranty.this truck was purchased as a new used demo from the original dealership with 14,000kmsmay 06.

Exhaust manifold on the 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext with 4.2 engine leaks exhaust fumes into the air and into the interior of the vehicle creating an emissions problem as well as a health hazard of driver and passengers of the vehicle breathing the fumes. Replacement parts are near to non existent since there are apparently so many of the vehicles with his problem. I have been looking for a replacement part for 3 weeks and nothing yet. Have been told by parts stores, and dealerships that they do not have them and their distribution centers do not have them either, neither do the online websites. There are no parts available in junk yards either. No options at the moment and vehicle will not pass current state inspection.

A/c was blowing hot air. Took car to mechanic to charge and replace freon and they found a large leak in the line under the gas tank. Called dealership for warranty and was told it did not cover corrosion and the part was on manufactured backorder for 3 weeks costing $1000. Local mechanic was able to weld a piece to fix leak.

Speedometer just went haywire.readings all over the place regardless of actual speed.same as many others have reported for this vehicle.*ln

Driving 6 people to pittsburgh international airport at 3 am 8/5/17 on the parkway to catch a flight for a vacation when noticed low beam headlights were not working. Do not know how long i was driving before this was noticed. Low beams worked the evening of 8/12/17 @ 10 pm after returning to pittsburgh airport and driving home. Low beams did not work again on the evening of 8/24/17 when driving home from a baseball game. Repairs were completed 9/1/17 by nick chevrolet in tarentum, pa. I had asked before and after the repairs whether this would be covered under recall but was told no because my vin number was not a part of the recall for this issue. They made it seem like this was a separate issue from the known low beam issue recall of other chevy models. I also called the gm customer service line to see if i could get reimbursed for this issue but was told the same thing; that my vin number was not a part of the recall and it is based on what factory the car was made at? the part number used was 15016745 which upon looking on the internet is a replacement part for the other vehicles covered under the recall. I do not understand how the same issue can be part of a recall for some years and models and not others if the problem and part are the same??

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. While driving 40 mph, the headlights failed without warning. The contact mentioned that the headlights work intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

2005 ext trailblazer rear plastic molding containing the 3rd brakelight separated from the window at least 3x since i have owned this vehicle.once even falling completely off severing the wires and landing in the roadway.i noticed the first separation less than 6 months after getting vehicle brand new.it has separated again and dealer says that it is not covered under warranty because it is considered cosmetic even though the vehicle was still under lease for another year.he also informed me that it happens to everyone he has seen and there is nothing they can do to stop it from happening that it is a flaw in the engineering, but they wouldn't hold it against me when i turn my lease in.

I requests that nhtsa open an investigation into the performance/reliability of the fuel level sensor installed in model year 2005 chevrolet trailblazer vehicles. I allege that the fuel tank level sensor is defective and could result in a subject vehicle running out of fuel, stall, and being rear ended by another vehicle. I also allege that the rear center brake light cover assembly located above the rear hatchon these vehicles routinely fails resulting in the assembly falling off of the truck and would cause damage to another vehicle driving behind the trailblazer.

All of a sudden headlights stopped working. I have changed the bulbs, fuses and relay. Had this problems checked out several times, no one can find a solution to why they don't work. I was on the highway coming home when they just stopped working, i had to put my high beams on to be able to get home safely.

Our 2005 chevy trailblazer's low beam headlights have been replaced, the wires were replaced and worked long enough for me to go out at night.the first night i did go out, they stopped working. I was stuck out of town with my little girl.thank goodness i wasn't driving or in a place where i didn't have cell phone service(which i don't have close to my home).also, our fuel gauge doesn't work.we've had it repaired and it worked for a short period as well, but doesn't work any longer. Apparently, these two issues are common problems that chevrolet needs to address.a recall would be nice.i have two more payments and i do not want to buy a new vehicle.nor would i feel comfortable selling this one as it is.

Headlights went off and would not turn back on. (low beams only)fog lights, turn lights and high beams all work.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. While the contact was driving approximately 65 mph, the rear spoiler brake light cover detached onto the road. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the rear spoiler brake light cover was replaced two times. The third recurrence, the brake light assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unavailable.

While driving on the highway, the rear brake light accessory fell off my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext. While the vehicle was in motion.there was no prior indication that the piece was loose.the piece, fortunately, remained attached to the vehicle while slamming against my rear window.i am concerned that the manufacturer of this vehicle is not properly securing the rear brake light piece and endangering my family as well as other motorists.when i tried to rectify with the dealerships service shop, they claimed that ice can cause this problem, citing that they had seen this happen a couple of times prior, and refused to take responsibility for correcting the problem, claiming that it was due to an act of nature and perhaps i could file a claim with my automobile insurance provider.

Brake and tail light on 2005 chevy trailblazer ext have failed on two occasions since leasing this new car on 9/15/2004. The first incident occurred on 6/15/2006, when the passenger brake and tail light failed and was noticed by a police officer who gave an informal warning. It was repaired on 6/16/2007 by the dealer who is now out of business.the second incident occurred today, june 21, 2007 when the driver side brake and tail light failed and was noticed by another driver. It will be taken to the dealer tomorrow.

In 2009, i noticed significant drops in the fuel level leading me to think people were stealing gas from my tank from my 2005 trailblazer ext.after installing a locking gas cap i realized it was a malfunction, not theft.a couple of months later the fuel gauge would not rise above 1/4 tank even when full, but spends most of its time on empty.i have stalled while driving twice because i can only estimate how much gas i have by the trip odometer. In april 2011 i learned about this investigation.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer fuel gauge does not work.it says its empty when i fill the tank and any other time for that matter.i have to use the "fuel used" data in the driver information center to figure how much fuel was used to know when to fill up.then i reset it everytime i fill up.very dissapointing.

Gas gauge stays on empty and the bell rings even when full.

My fuel gauge is not working properly.when i fill up with gas, it states i am on empty immediately after fueling.takes several days to register.i don't trust it and am currently judging how full the tank is by miles driven.

Fuel gauge quit working.now the oil pressure gauge works only some of the time.

The fuel gauge is inaccurate - randomly fluctuates from moment to moment from empty/low fuel light on, full, to somewhere inbetween.this has been ongoing since approximately april, 2010.check engine light is on, and onstar indicates that an electrical problem is present.vehicle will not pass emissions testing with check engine light on.safety concern if vehicle runs out of gas - we are forced to drive it now for only a few hundred miles between fill-ups to ensure adequate fuel in tank.we have researched potential repairs, and they will cost approximately $600-$800 to fix.

2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext ls i6.1st. My gas gauge started to go haywire.2nd. Thought is was just a fluke.3rd. Was not a fluke, got me stranded in the middle of a whiteout.4th. Endanger lives of my children and me.5th. Gauge, fuel pump and receiving unit are defective.6th. Had gauge fixed, cost $800.

Filled up with gasoline. Fuel gauge said empty and fuel light remained on and warning bell sounded. After quite some time, usually with multiple start ups, the fuel light went off and gauge worked although intermittently and not necessarily accurately. It would go up and down at different times. It was not noticeable if any particular action affected it, such as acceleration.

I received a letter from chevrolet stating in some vehicles, the fuel level sensor may wear prematurely causing the fuel gauge to read empty after filling the tank. It also states the gauge will eventually stop working. This is exactly what has happened to my truck. It also states that gm will pay 50% of the total cost for an authorized chevrolet dealer to repair my vehicle. I believe this should be a recall and i should not have to pay anything for it since i am not the only one with a 2005 trail blazer with the same problem.

Fuel sending unit quit working.

Nhtsa action number : dp10001i am having the same problem with my 2005 chevy trailblazer.filled the gas tank and now it goes back and forth from empty to full while driving.also, the check engine light came on.

The problem began in august of 2009 -i filled my gas tank, when i started the engine afterwards the fuel gauge went all the way to full, then immediately back down to empty. The gauge has fluctuated ever since, mostly staying on empty with the low gas light always on.to avoid running out of gas, as a reminder to myself i reset the trip odometer every time i fill up, then fill the tank again when i reach 250 miles.two different mechanics have told me it would cost $500 to fix this problem, so i have not had it fixed yet because the cost is more than i can afford at this time.

2005 chevy trailblazer - malfunctioning fuel gauge, erratic reading, safety issue, was stuck on highway out of fuel due to gauge error. I work for a company that supplies gm so know well they are aware, but choose to mislead and say they do not know the cause, they do know but choose to be irresponsible an unethical.thousands of issues nationwide on trailblazers and other models using this gauge.

2005 chevy trailblazer, fuel sensor out, dealership or gm wont help fix the issue, not reading gas level.

I have had a faulty gas gauge for more than a year; when i fill up my tank it always says i am on "e."this is very dangerous, i am always afraid of running out and stalling, etc. I was quoted $1200 for this repair which i don't have.i need help asap.

Fuel gauge not working. Has not worked for a long time now.i will not pay 800.00 to get it fixed. Stopped working at around 60,000 miles.finally ran out of gas 1/25/11.i did not know the power steering would quit working.i was scared i would not be able to steer it off the road safely with traffic behind me.i finally did, it was hard, but thank god and luckily did not go over the embankment.

Fuel gauge is erratic. Reads empty most of the time even after a fill-up. Gauge needle bounces from empty to full while driving. Faulty sender causes check engine light to stay on constantly.i received a notice from gm explaining that they would pay for half of the repair, but only if my trailblazer was under 120,000 miles. I don't know of too many vehicles on the road that are 7 years old that have less than 120,000 miles.

My 2005 chevrolet trailblazer gas gauge doesn't work properly. I never know how much fuel i have in my tank because the the gauge goes up and down like crazy. Sometimes when i know i have less than half a tank of gas due to the miles i've driven it says that it's full. Other times right after a fill up it will say that it's empty.

2005 trailblazer fuel gauge not properly working.when suv is filled with gasoline it will indicate the tank is empty. Then after filling it will jump from half to empty not properly reading has cause me to run out of gas several times. Almost caused an accident do to a complete stall on the interstate. Really concerned and feel this should be addressed by gm before someone is seriously injured or possible killed.

I have a 2005 extended chevy trailblazer.at 37,000 miles the fuel gauge quit working.i went to the dealer and they would not cover with the warranty.told me it would cost $1200.00!!!!the gauge quit working 6 months after i bought the trailblazer and i paid $25000 for it.the dealer told me they haven't heard of any issues with the fuel gauge not working, but then i found manymany other people who's fuel gauge quit working also.i know there should be a recall on this fuel gauge.i want something done.!!!!i have run out of gas on a busy road, and my 4 kids could have been hurt!!!please do something about this 2005 chevy trailblazer!!

Fuel gauge failure on 2005 chevy trailblazer ext. My two girls have both been in potentially dangerous situations when they ran out of gas in traffic. I have not had it repaired because it is estimated by 2 mechanics at @ $850.00.

I purchased this car new and less then 3 years and only about 1,000 miles over the warranty the fuel gage stopped working.gm just sent a letter stating that they will reimburse for only 50% when they know this is a defect and should be recalled.

Chevrolet '05 trailblazer, fuel gauge shows empty no matter how much gas is in the tank.after a fill still shows empty.

On july 3, 2010 i bought a used 2005 chevy trailblazer.the vehicle had not been in my possession for a few days when i noticed that the gas measurement could not be right. I refilled it several times.then, after refill, it still showed zero.it is extremely difficult, inconvenient and dangerous to have to count miles, as a parent with a small child its almost impossible.the car ran out of gas on the way to a family funeral.fortunately i was able to get over off of the highway.this is an extremely hazardous and it seems that gm should issue a recall for product defect. On a highway situation, the accident ensuing from a stalled car could be fatal.

On mon. June 20, 2011 i stopped to get gas with the gas gauge registeringbetween 1/4 and empty w/gas light on.after filling the gas tank the gage continued to register the same w/gas light on.the following day the gas gauge started inching up to the full mark and remained there and started registering as gas usage decreased.not sure if was accurate.upon fueling again, the same process started all over again. The gage will periodically fluctuate up and down.

Fuel gauge is never right.it goes to empty when you fill it; and then reads other readings intermittently throughout the day.

2005 chevy trailblazer fuel gauge flucxuating even when there is a full tank of gas. This can cause the vehicle to stop, stall, cause an accident. Causing extra amounts of money to put in the tank when not really necessary. There have been more than enough complaints regarding this issue, and should not take someone getting hurt in order for the recall to be passed. You expect us to pay $800-900 to have it repaired but when it is recalled, it will take months to even get refunded for the $$ we paid out for the problem. I didn't have an accident, however, i did have my small children in the car when it stopped in 90 degree weather in charlotte nc. We had to wait for over an hour for help to arrive.

Fuel gauge quit working in 2010.

Fuel gauge stopped working on 2005 chevy trailblazer.after a google search, i discovered this is a problem that has been experienced by many gmc products.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would not register how much fuel was in the vehicle. The contact received notification of a manufacturers safety campaign in which the manufacturer would cover fifty percent of the repair costs if the vehicle has less than 110,000 cumulative miles. The contact stated that the vehicle was at 145,000 miles and the manufacturer denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. There was a concurrent investigation pertaining to the failure under nhtsa action number: pe11014 (fuel system, other: storage: fuel gauge system). The vehicle was not repaired.the vin was unavailable.the failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 145,000.

My gas gauge suddenly does not work properly.even if i know the tank is full when i first start the engine the fuel light goes on and give the audible signal that it's low on fuel.as i begin to drive the gauge will eventually move a little bit so the light will go off.i have a full tank today and after driving only 13 miles it registers less that half a tank.i got a letter from gm acknowledging that this problem persists but will only offer to pay for half of the repair???what?didn't we just bail them out?"too big to fail"???well use some of the money we already gave to gm to fix the problem!!

The fuel level sensor in my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer has stopped working.it happened immediately after i filled the gas tank.once i began to drive the fuel needle began to fluctuate.now it stays on empty & the check engine light is on. I had a report run on my vehicle & found that the fuel tank level sensor connection is bad or needs replaced this is a concern because i have three young children & to drive it could result in the vehicle running out of fuel, stalling, or being rear ended by another vehicle.

The fuel level sensor gives false readings on the gas gage.i've had two chevy trucks in 6 years and both have this problem.the fuel level sensor malfunctions and gives false gas readings.what if the gage said 1/2 full and it really was on empty and i ran out of gas in rush our traffic.that's a safety issue.there's 1,000's of complaints on this issue and no one holds gm accountable.even the dealership said it's a big problem.i had a 2000 chevy s10 and a 2005 chevy trailblazer.

Today, 02/28/2012, i noticed that the fuel gauge on my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext was fluctuating between half full and full after adding 19 gallons of gas to the truck.this is the first time i have noticed this problem and am aware that many other individuals have had this problem on their trailblazers. I am hoping there will be a recall in the near future.

Fuel gauge does not work accurately.i have ran out of gas twice both times the gauge showed that there was approx. 1/4 of tank remaining.other times after filling the gauge will drop to empty and the low fuel light and chimes will come on while driving.very annoying and distracting.no accidents.

A few months ago, i stopped to fill up my gas tank.when i restarted the car, i noticed the gas gauge was reading empty and the light was on.since then, the gas gauge is erratic and does not read correctly.researching this issue on the internet, there are many others with the same issue.

Gas tankis broke and it is expensive to fix. From what my mechanic said there should be a recall on this.we have to keep track of our mileage constantly so we won't run out of gas.

Fuel gauge defective.

I own a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer.a year after purchase the fuel gauge quit working properly.it would bounce back and forth between empty and half a tank no matter how much gas was in it at first.then within three months it quit all together.now it just sits on empty all the time..repeatedly dinging at me because it reads an empty tank at all times.i can stop at the gas station and fill the tank and start it up and it sits on empty and will ding at me within 5 minutes to tell me the tank is empty.trying to tell how much fuel is actually in the tank has become a guessing game.considering i am almost always driving around with my kids in the car it is quite scary to think of running out of gas on the highway or in the middle of a busy intersection.i have researched scores of forums with other owners suffering with the same problem and yet chevrolet has no concerns.they would rather profit from the estimated $1800 repair bill.with the economy in the shape it is there are alot of us forced to endure the problem and keep our fingers crossed we don't get hit if we mistakenly guess we have more gas than is actually in the tank.this is on top of the water pump replacement at 40,000 miles which we paid to replace along with the thermostat because it was no longer heating.

On today i went to fill up my tank due to hurricane ike. Before i went to the gas station all gauges were fine but when i returned to work i noticed that the gas gauge was one with the light lit. I turned off the engine and turned it back on and it stayed the same.this should be fixed and covered some type of recall.

The fuel gauge doesn't work on my 2005 trailblazer ext.

My 2005 trailblazer ext will not read the correct level of fuel.most of the time it will not read any fuel at all.if it shows any amount, that amount will be very inaccurate.within a 10 mile distance, the range will change from 400 miles to 85 miles.very unsafe condition due to high potential of running out of fuel in a highway situation.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer fuel gauge no longer functions and this is a common problem i understand among 05 trailblazers and previous years. It is going to cost a lot of money to repair and gm/chevy refuses to warranty or recall the problem. I think it is a shame gm/chevy is allowed to get a away with making the owners pay very high repair bills when the company knows it's a safety problem. Please intercede and make gm/chevy accountable.

The gas gage in my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer has been replaced 2 times and it's out again. I've been told by quite a few people that this is a very common problem with chevrolet.

I am experiencing a problem that is involved in a current odi investigation. My 2005 chevy trailblazer has intermittent fuel reading failures reading incorrectly. This has been ongoing for approximately 7 months but has been progressively becoming more frequent and also occurring right now. Researching this problem online i discovered over one hundred forum postings of owners with the same problem and also found out about odi dp 10-001. My problem is current and ongoing, further more is available for inspection for the open investigation if requested.

Defective fuel level sender in 2005 chevy trailblazer.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext370. The contact dispensed fuel into the fuel tank and the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate empty reading. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and the manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The failure was approximately 44,000.updated 07/08/11*ljupdated 07/15/11

My 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext fuel gauge just stayed on empty eventhough i always filled up the tank. I went on research forums if there's any recall for this model since i've seen a number of complaints. I am still paying for the truck monthly and cannot pay for an expensive repairs.

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer ext ls and am worried about my wife when she is driving because the fuel gauge does not work all the time.i am scared that the vehicle will run out of gas and she could get into an accident with my kids in the car.i read many complaints about the level sensor going out and i think that this is a defect in the part.

When i finished fueling up my 2005 chevy trailblazer the fuel gauge still showed empty.this problem is still happening.have run out of fuel once while on the highway.not a very safe situation.

2005 trailblazer, just out of warranty, gas gauge quits working, apparently a fuel level sensor, no warnings, just runs out of gas.very expensive to replace.have to always fill up tank and use the trip mileage to the best of my knowledge to avoid running out of gas, very annoying and dangerous.

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer ext... My fuel tank light came on and never went off i would fill my tank up and it would never go off. I ended up having to take this in and paid 1000.00 for a new fuel tank... I have been researching and this is a very extremely common thing on chevy trailblazer's... It was right about 75,000 miles that this happened.

Fuel gauge on 2005 chevrolet trailblazer is not working.

The gas gauge does not work. It would go all the way to full and then after a couple of miles it would go to "empty." the fuel light comes on and the car will make a loud beep to let you know you are out of fuel. The beep really throws off your concentration to the road and is very distracting. It makes you tap the brakes which could definitely lead to an accident or even running out of gas. This is a serious issue and needs to be fixed.

The fuel gauge does not accurately represent the true amount of gas in the tank.after talking with chevrolet owners and doing research on this issue, it seems to be a common theme.the gas gauge indicates that the vehicle's gas tank is either empty after being recently filled or only slightly above the "e" on the gas gauge.it takes about two days or 12 statutory miles before the gas gauge begins to display an accurate reading, if that is even true!on 30 april 2008, during a family road trip, the gas gauge began to display that the gas tank was a quarter full after being filled.after driving another hour and a half, the gauge read empty and then went back to a quarter full.i guess chevrolet doesn't care about the quality of their work, just its quantity of sales.

Gas gauge and speedometer does not work on a 2005 trailblazer. I have seen many complaints on this.

I started my car up this morning when i noticed that i had only 1/4 tank of gas left, so i drove down to the gas station and filled up until it clicked. I got back in and started the car and the needle was moving very slow then it stopped at 1/4 of a tank and i was like that is impossible. At first i was pissed because i just spent $77 filling up. Then i was scared i thought maybe i had a hole in my fuel tank so i pulled over and saw that there was nothing leaking. Immediately driving to the auto shop i am informed that the fuel gauge isn't working and would need to be replaced. Since we are stationed overseas i would be paying about 400 to 500 euros which isn't happening anytime soon. I was told to keep track of my mileage by setting the odometer everytime i filled up. Running out of gas is not an option in germany there are fines and even jail time because its called not being responsible. It can also cause accidents and traffic jams if my car was to just run out of gas on the autobahn.this is a very common problem and needs to be fixed by gm. I guess that isn't an option until someone gets hurt or worse actually dies.

Started the car one day and the gas gauge showed empty, have been keeping track of the mileage ever since. Still waiting for gm to take care of the problem (recall). You would think acar which is only a few years old and low mileage shouldn't be having expensive problems, which is left up to the owner to pay.

A week ago, my gas gauge light came on like normal indicating i needed fuel.i filled up my gas tank.when i started my engine, the gas gauge light was still on and the gas gauge indicated empty.in fact, it showed less gas than prior to the fill-up.over the week, the gas gauge appeared to correct itself.however, i again filled my gas tank yesterday because my gas gauge indicator was on.once again, the light remained on after filling my tank and the gauge showed less gas than prior to fill up.i am very concerned about this as i could easily run out of gas without realizing i needed fuel.i will be making a trip to parris island, sc in august to see my daughter graduate from the us marine corps basic training program.that is a 16 hour drive, one way.if i cannot gauge the amount of fuel i have for the trip, my family could be stranded in the middle of nowhere.i heard about the possible recall due to this investigation; therefore, i have not tried to repair or replace the vehicle at this point.

2005 trailblazer fuel gauge out of order a lot of people who has same car like me has same troublehappen also chevy knows about this trouble from fuel pump and level sensor trouble they just want to make money out of this issue that's really bad idea and my car make this trouble only it was 40k mile can you believe this.

I have owned my 2005 trailblazer ext ls since january 2005. In august of 05 i noticed my gas gauge going haywire.then i noticed my speedometer wasnt working correctly also as soon as my fuel gauge stopped working completely my speedometer has been fine. My fan for heat and sir stopped working shortly after that.i also go through head lights and taillight frequently which have lead to a few tickets. I love my trailblazer but i am disgusted that there hasnt been recalls on these obvious defects!!!! i will not buy another chevy. I feel the company doesnt care weather they have a trust worthy reliable vehicul as long as they are making money!!!!

Last night (11/01/2010) i went to fill my gas tank.it showed i had 1/4 tank full.i added $50.00 of gasoline at $2.52/gal.that should've been more than enough.i turned the car on and it crept to 1/2 tank.i figured it'd take a few seconds....wrong!!!! as i continued to drive, it crept down to 1/4 tank again and stayed there.i made it to my first destination and asked the kids to get down and look under the car and see if there was anything, anywhere leaking. Nothing.i turned the car off and turned it back on.the fuel gauge started to swiftly rise and made it to 3/4 of a tank when it suddenly dropped to empty where it stayed.chimes are going off that i have no gas.i shut the car off again and restarted it.gauge rose to only 1/4 tank. I drove home. This morning, i started the car and it rose to 3/4 tank and stayed that way all the way to work (15 min. Ride).this has never happened to me before.i came online trying to make sense of what may be happening and seems like this is a fairly common phenomenon even though gm refuses to do anything about this.my car is only 5 yrs old and has 62,000 miles on it.it is barely broken in and it should definitely not be having these kinds of issues already.

Our gas gauge quit working on our 2005 chevrolet trailblazer.we had warranty on the suv but it failed just out of warranty.the estimated cost to fix it was not in our budget.we have to track our mileage after each fill-up.my son ran out of gas one time as a result of the bad gauge.

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer what a hunk of junk about 6 months ago the fuel gauge stopped working , which i read is a known problem with many of the 2005 models its a problem but i am dealing with it until i run out of gas late on night with my kids and some terrible happens to us! but that is not the major complaint now. On 2 seperate occasions my speedometer just stops working, either i am going zero or i am going 120 miles a hour, what a major problem for a person who does a great deal of highway traveling. So whatare my options it seem that there are numerous complaintsregarding both of these issues i know gm doesnt probably see them as a saftey issue but i do. I terrified of running out of gas i usually traveling alone or with my teenage daughter. But o wont be able to afford the gas because i have to pay all of those speeding tickets.

The dash board cluster stop working so the amount of gas i put in the car does not show how much. The speed of the car i can't tell how fast i'm going.

I started noticing that my gas needle would float after fillingthe gas tank on two occasions. The first time i stopped one day to fill the gas tank thinking i was on empty.as i pulled off the needle went to e again after stopping on full before i turned on the engine. A gentleman at the gas station knew what was going on with my car as he was driving a chevrolet pickup and said it was a common thing with chevrolets.he also told me the problem was with the gas gauge wire. I called to make an appointment with service department to find out that no recalls were made regarding this issue. If it was a common problem in chevroletsthen whywas this not a recall or a safety issue..i would assume if someone would drive and experience what i was experiencing with the floating needle or worse run out of gas unaware that the needle was not registering properly while driving .discussing the same problem i was experiencing with a friend and she indicate to me that a coworker was having the same problem.. The second timei have ran out of gaswas while travelling in high rush hour traffic due to the needle not working properly. Chevrolet should take care of this dangerous issue with its customers. A recall should be made before something terrible occurs.i keep track of my mileage as i didnot believe this was an issue i should have to pay to fix. This appearedto be a common problem for this manufacturer.

Fuel gauge will read wrong. The gauge will suddenly drop down to empty and then will slowly start to rise back up after sitting on empty for a while. Also my vehicle will just stall out at red lights or when i am stopped in traffic. I will have to put my car into park and restart it quite often. This is obviously a major problem and there should be some recalls on this. This is a safety issue. I have read of peoples cars stalling out while they are driving down the highway and am personally scared of this happening to me while i am transporting my children around.

Stop it starts jerking and check engine light flashs head went bad at 109 thosand miles

Engine light comes on was told gas sensor was defective could harm enginerec'd notification from gm to repair would only pay half of the expense after 3 months same issue gm would notpay anything.

Vehicle has 145,000 miles. This is the second time the dashboard's gas gauge has stopped working. First time occurred around 50,000 miles and it was replaced.

Gas hand don't work, told need a fuel sensor for 2005 chevy trailblazer ext.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer ext is leaking gas from the gas tank underneath the vehicle when the suv is running.

I bought 2005 chevrolet trailblazer and the fuel gauge is defective. It is crazy to hear beep sounding all the time telling me the gauge is empty when i know for sure is not. I wish it could be fixed, because i have many others things in my plate that need to worry, i really don't need another one.

Fuel gauge has been ready empty for several months.i looked on internet to see how to fix or possible problems.i noticed there was a letter sent years ago to the affect that gm would cover half the cost to repair, up to 10 years in service or 100,000 miles.when i contacted dealer the car was in service 10 years and 2 weeks and has 84,000 miles. I was informed gm will not help cover expense for repair do to time in service. I am questioning if this could become a recall or extended in service dating for this problem.

2005 trailblazer fuel sensor unit faulty.fuel gauge does not correctly show the correct amount of fuel.it shows empty although the fuel has been filled.on at least one occasion my spouse was left stranded due to this failure.

I read in the manual for my 05 trailblazer that i bought 3 days ago that the drivers side door wouldn't be able to lock if the keys were in the ignition. Today i was making a trip to my storage unit and decided to leave the car running since my 4 month old son was inside and it was a warm day. My doors automatically unlock when i put it into park, and i got out, walked around the car to open my sons door so i could hear him. The doors were all locked! i don't know how they locked themselves, but not even the drivers door that isn't supposed to be able to lock with the keys in the ignition, was open! so my cell phone and infant were both locked in my car with it running and my baby crying. I had to sit there and watch him cry through the window, because i was stupid enough to believe the manual when it said the doors couldn't lock.thankfully my dad lives close by and i was able to borrow a cell phone and have him go and get the keys from my husband at work. Had the car been off he could have been extremely hot by the time i got the doors unlocked and got him out.

Hydraulics on lift gate not working.noticed it when went to open in to put groceries in the back.very dangerous, if not careful could fall on top of you or your head!

The lift gate on my vehicle would not lift all the way inlate in 2005 and would only lift up to 1/4 of its actual opening.while on the interstate recently, it completely fell off flying into traffic.

On july 29, 2015 i exited the freeway, and suddenly my 2005 chevy trailblazer ext 4.2l began to stall and would not proceed upon acceleration.after calling the gm corporate office, i asked if there was a possible warranty on the vehicles transmission, they stated "no"... However, the representative did tell me that my used 2005 trailblazer ext did have the transmission replaced in 2007.this is 2 years after the vehicle hit the road spanking brand new.there has to be a problem with the chevy trailblazers transmission.i ended up spending a total of $1,600.00 for a rebuilt transmission.i am now looking to possibly trade my trailblazer in soon.looking at the complaints here in this forum regarding the failure of the chevy trailblazer transmission is ridiculous.gm refuses to own up to their mistake.it would be nice to see nhtsa get strict with automotive manufacturers. What will it take before someone listens to the consumer, a death?that could have easily been my fate; luckily, it happened when exiting the freeway.

Steering wheel malfunctions, car turns off when wheel is extended too far to the left. Seatbelts for last row of seats don't lock, radio is stuck, buttons don't control radio properly.

I bought a 05 tb-ext last june, i no sooner got 5 miles down the highway (8 mile total on od) when i started to feel something funny, i was pushing on the gas, but it was loosing speed traffic was backing up behind me as i pulled off the road. Ihad it towed to back to the dealership where i was assured that it was a tranny line that was not properly secured at the factory. Now 3 months later, (5300 total on od) my kids and i were driving on the freeway yesterday at 65 mph when the rpm's shot up to 4500-5000, and it was loosing speed. There was not any warning signs going off. I was in the middle lane of a 5 lane freeway (i-580 west) i pulled over on the shoulder and checked the fluid level, it was fine. I put the car in drive i started to get back on to the freeway, 1st and 2nd engaged just fine, but as soon as i got up to around 35 mph the rpm shot up again and it would not shift to third. I had to use the on star for the second time in 3 months to have it towed.

Transmission line leak. Passenger side fender well.corrosion on 1 line.

Brand new 2005 chevrolet trailblazer transmission wont downshift back into low gear upon coming to a stop. Dealer said they fixed the problem the first time it happened (at 600 miles) by replacing a sensor. It has just now started happening again (at 2,100 miles).

Steering wheel malfunctions, car turns off when wheel is extended too far to the left. Seatbelts for last row of seats don't lock, radio is stuck, buttons don't control radio properly.

The side control panel for the driver's seat has come loose and has be come a concern that it may fall off completely and onto my legs as i'm driving. I weight about 145 and don't believe this should be happening to a vehicle that is only 3 years old.

Dt: the contact states the third row seat cushions are so big that they do not allow the latch system to be accessed.the other alternative is to use the safety belts.when she secures a child seat to the safety belt it allows the child seat to tip over.the dealer was unable to repair the vehicle becauseof its design.

I was approaching a traffic signal.i hit my brakes when realizing the light was red. The anti-lock brakes locked up and i slid through the light hitting a turning car.this resulted in a frontal impact, but the airbags did not deploy.the vehicle is totaled.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. The contact stated that the driver was traveling approximately 65 mph, the power steering failed without warning. The vehicle was shaking violently making it extremely difficult for the contact to control the steering wheel. The contact stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle while it was swaying back and forth, the steering wheel locked. The vehicle crashed into a median and the vehicle rolled over more than twice. The driver sustained major injuries in which the index finger on the left hand had to be surgically adjusted and also the thumb was lacerated due to the impact of the crash. The contact was receiving further medical attention due to the severity of the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.

While driving on highway on way to work, the third brake light assembly above the rear hatch flew off into the highway. I stopped and picked the part up and have it however i'm left with a broken truck. The brackets on the truckthat the assembly place snaps into is broken and when the assembly piece flew off the truck the third brake light wire was snapped into by the force of the wind.

The rear liftgate window of my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext shattered for no apparent reason at all. My wife was closing the liftgate (the glass was not open), pulled the liftgate down a few inches, and the entire rear liftgate window exploded sending glass all over my wife and our 4 year old son, not to mention my driveway, sidewalk, etc. According to different sites that i have visited on the internet, this is quite a common occurrence. Might i add that this vehicle had not been driven or moved from its' parking spot since sunday 8/24/2008 and was not driven today. We opened the rear liftgate to put an item into the back of the vehicle, went to shut the liftgate, and the above occurred.

My 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext lts tailgate glass door hinge cap popped off and had to be repaired/replaced (hinges, fiberglass cap, glass, etc). I was informed by mr. Kenneth lamott of the 1st avenue body shop, inc. In great falls mt that this is a known issue and apparent design defect that chevrolet knows about.however they will not recognize it as a recall item. It is my understanding from mr. Lamott was to not drive the vehicle on highways should it come loose again as it will dislodge and present oncoming traffic with a hazard that could cause damages, injury and possibly death if it impacted and passed thru a windshield hitting the driver or passenger.

I have encountered a problem with the speedometer not working properly or not working at all in some cases, sometimes get stuck at a certain speed

Our 2005 chevy trailblazer speedometer just quit working.we can be sitting at a complete stop and the speedometer will read 50mph.it will randomly change and later will even drop below the zero mark.we have no idea how fast we are traveling when this occurs.yesterday, while driving from oh to in, i had to guess how fast i was going on the freeway.the speedometer started our reading 45mph, so i estimated that i had to travel at 110 mph to go 65mph.the problem became worse when i noticed that my speedometer was jumping from one speed to the next, not gradually climbing like it should have been.this problem is a random occurrence.i never know when to expect it.obviously, there are serious consequences that can ensue. Speeding tickets, endangering others' as well as our own lives by driving too fast or too slow, or causing accidents in general.nothing has been done to correct the problem since the car is out of warranty and i am underemployed and we cannot afford to replace the instrument cluster at this time.*ln

2005 chevrolet trailblazer.....speedometer works improperly while driving.i will be driving at a rate of 60 mph and all of a sudden the speedometer jumps to 95+ mph and when i turned off the motor the speedometer will not go back to zero and will sit on 20 or 30 mph instead of zero.this has been happening for over a year.please help.......

Speedo stopped working at 65,000.

Speedometer on 2005 trailblazer is misleading.you can be doing 70mph and it will only register 50 mph.sometimes you can be doing 20 mph and it will register 120 mph.but 80% of the time the speedometer is correct (i think).this can be dangerous, especially to new drivers (my daughter who just turned 16).gm is providing misleading information to the driver and you have no indication that it is incorrect.

I have a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext lt the speedometer went haywire it was fine then on the highway i was all of a sudden doing 110 miles per hour i thought whats going on so i stopped along highway fully stopped my speedometer read 85 mph i knew the speed was off cause me speed on my gps said i was doing 55 mph when the speedometer said 110 mph chevrolet should fix this problem cause it is a safety hazard cause i amnot able to correctly judge my speed please look in to this iamnot the only one having this problem there are thousands on thousands of people complaining of this problem it is your duty to check this problem so someone or several people arent killed because of chevrolets problem i cant believe there isnt a recall already.if you can get back with me on this problem thank you*tw

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The failure occurred once. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.

My 2005 chevy trailblazer keeps losing power to the accelerator pedal,i took it to the dealer they had it for 2 days they replaced acc pedal sensor i took car home and the problem occurred again same day. It cost me 442 dollars to repair and i have to go back to dealer tomorrow what are my rights in this case can they charge me again to fix the same problem.

I have a 2005 chevy. Trailblazer,on 1/25/10 at 9:00 am driving south on i95 in md. The rear window exploded completely from the car,no objects came into contact with the window, was in a none public area and no overpasses.it was a real shock could of caused a wreck just from the loud sound. I called chevy. Fact.complaint no.1-800-222-1020 and talked to jenny at ext 23002, she said there were no recalls and to take it to my dealer and i would have to pay for the repairs, they wanted $1600.00 for a new rear window,i bought one at a salvage yard for $300.00 and had it replaced. I googled this by putting in "trailblazer rear window" and seen i am not alone and chevy. Will not help people or admit of the problem.

I own a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext. 2 weeks ago i opened the rear gate and the rear glass exploded over my head. Had glass and spoiler repaired by glass co. With new parts. Today the same thing happened after i opened the tail gate and was walking away. Seems to be a bad design flaw by chevrolet. Do i fix it again not knowing the cause? are there any other complaints?

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. The contact stated that the when there was moisture in the air, the driver side master switch failed to operate without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v248000 (electrical system, visibility). The failure mileage was 139,000.

Blowers (defrost/defog ~ heat a/c) intermittently work. Dial goes from 1-5 and today ifeither blower level #2 and #5 is selected, blower will cut off.last month it was #1 and sometimes #5.

Heater, defrost does not work.blower will not blow.all components have been replaced.

Heater blower is going out, then goes back on if i touch the wires going into the motor housing. Now the speedometer is going wacky. Shows 120 mph never goes back to zero. This is an ongoing problem with gm please investigate.

My blower for my a/c and my heater has stopped working.

I just purchased a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer in january of this year.the problem is that the driver's side visor has an uncovered mirror on it.when i pull the visor down to block the sun, the mirror reflects my hands and lap which is a distraction while driving.i called the customer service person at general motors (joohee kim).she said that there is nothing that could be done about replacing the visor with one with no mirror or one with a covered mirror.i looked at several other suv's and trucks at my dealership and the trailblazer is the only one with an uncovered mirror.i have never owned or seen an automobile with an uncovered mirror on the driver's side.i am very concerend about this problem and believe that it has the potential of being a big safety hazard.
