My son [xxx] was involved in a single car accident (hit a deer and ran off the road) in which our 2004 chevy trailblazer was totaled in a roll over and not one single airbag deployed in the accident.as a result of no airbag he smashed his forehead into the steering wheel leaving a 2 inch gash, cut to the bone.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

On about 6 occasions over the past couple weeks my sunroof has opened by itself. On each occasion it has happened after backing up and then putting it in drive. When it happens i try to stop it by pressing the close button but it doesn't do anything and continues to open fully and stops. After about 20-30 seconds i can close it.

Speedometer fails to register correct speed.inoperable speedometer stuck at zero when moving or sometimes at other displayed speeds while stopped.

Switches for the power window and heated driver's seat on driver's door panel stopped working.heater for driver's seat turns on, on its own and cannot be controlled with the switch.while the heater for driver's seat is on, the instrument panel flickers.the heater for driver's seat turns on and off, on its own and each time it comes on, the instrument panel flickers.

I am extremely disappointment and afraid of my trailblazer at this point. We purchased the vehicle used and within a week of having the truck it started dying at redlights. Out of nowhere the truck just shuts off in the middle of the road. It has got to the point now that it does it while the vehicle is actually in motion. I have 3 kids and this is not safe! i lose total control of the vehicle. The headlight plug has burned up twice on the driver side and it has been replaced. The electrical is seriously in need of a recall do to the back door speakers never working since we purchased the truck (which the dealer promised to fix) along with the rear a/c (which the dealer also promised to fix! i cant afford 900$ in labor for whatever is making my truck shut off but if it doesn't get fixed it will be the death of me! reading codes on obd2 scanner of poo14 and p0016 incorrect camshaft timing wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system continuous oil flow to vct piston chamber failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)- now what do i do..

I parked the car in my driveway and the passenger side mirror started clicking. The mirror was attempting to rotate to the extreme car side of the mirror. Using the remote mirror control had no effect.the car was turned off and the mirror motor continued to try to move the mirror past the limit. After several minutes, the clicking stopped and there was an odor of plastic burning. After the clicking stopped, neither mirror moved. The local mechanic said the wiring to the motor had burned and shorted the mechanism. I was lucky that there was no damage to the interior of the door.has this malfunction been a problem with the trailblazers?

My 2004 chevy trailblazer oil, gas and battery gauges have all stopped working. When i turn on my heated seats they smell like they're burning!! i have read 100's of complaints of similar stories with same problems. We need a recall, it is not safe!!!!!

My vehicle has numerous times quit running (since purchase 2004) by first being unstable and rough engine idle.it's more noticeable after driving for long period of time on highway and then coming to a full stop at an exit; vehicle will surge at low speed/shudder and will stop running.the only way to keep vehicle running is by pressing gas and brake (not safe).talked to dealership an there is no fix.

Nhtsa recently posted a recall of the 2006-2009 chevy trailblazerfor headlight issues due to a headlamp driver module (hdm) that is not operating correctly and can cause the low beam headlamps and daytime running lights to shut off. I have a 2004 chevy trailblazer ext 370 and have the same issue and it has been ongoing for several years. It happened maybe once in 2012 and then several months later did it again and now it is happening more frequently (at least once a week or so). Please extend the recall to also include my vehicle as well. *dt

I purchased a 2004 chevy trailblazer in september 2003.within 6 months of purchase, the check engine light came on.dealer said it was a computer error and reset the computer.approximately every 6 months thereafter, check engine light came on and dealer said each time it was evaporation caused by not tightening gas cap appropriately.dealership changed owners and new dealer reset the computer once (saying gas cap not tightened appropriately), the second time found a hole in hose that comes out of the gas tank and repaired it.upon the third time with new dealer occurring 12/01/2010, we are told there is a crack in the nipple of the gas tank and want to replace the gas tank.i feel recourse from the manufacturer is due since obviously the problem existed upon purchase of the new vehicle.

2004 chevy trailblazer ext northface edition with the v8 engine is leaking gas due to a crack in the gas tank and the repair is over 1000$, my truck only has 7500 miles on it and everything seems to be messing up.

The contact owns a 2004 chevrolet trailblazer ext 370. While in a parking lot, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent dealer. The technician diagnosed that the fuel pump and fuel filter needed to be replaced the filler inlet was also cracked. The contact mentioned that the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and the hose were replaced. However, the fuel tank filler inlet was not.the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,869.

Filler neck to gas tank leaking....dangerous !!causes the check engine light to stay on....

Received a letter from gm regarding potential problem with fuel tank inlet valve. Took vehicle to dealer len stoler, inc in westminster md in december. Problem was diagnosed as a fuel tank inlet valve fracture. On dec 3rd 2015 fuel tank was replaced and inspection done. Subsequent to service when fuel was placed in vehicle gas poured out on pavement. Prior to that service this was not an issue only the smell of fuel in the interiorand a few drops of fuel noted. Took vehicle back to dealer and problem now diagnosed as inlet pipe fracture. Was told i would have to pay for this service, despite service dept having not mentioned this when fuel tank was replaced and vehicle inspected and left dealer in unsafe operating condition. Part was not available and was told i should drive it and have work done later. Since this part is connected to fuel tank should have been noticed when fuel tank was replaced and work done at that time.

Wench holding spare tire on 2002 chevy trailblazer was stuck and would not lower the tire.having a flat tire is bad enough but being told that they would have to cut and destroy the wench mechanism in order get the spare to put it on in place of the flat one was not good news.i told aaa to proceed and cut the cable and mechanism so they could change my flat tire.i found this is not under warranty and it cost $137.00 to replace the wench.this happened in august 2006/in october, my wife had a flat and guess what the wench would not lower the spare and again the mechanism had to be replaced.i put my spare on my wife's 2004 chevy trailblazer so she could continue her trip to iowa.her wench was replaced at a cost $143.00.obviously this is a problem with chevy trailblazers as it happened with my 2002 and my wife's 2004.there is never a mention in the owner's manual about any maintenance on the wench.to find the problem when you have a flat is not the right time tom discover the wench doesn't work.i filed a complaint with general motors on monday of this week and was told that all complaints are reviewed by supervisors.i simply replied that it was highly unlikely that i would ever hear from anyone at gm about this problem.
