1. On 5/19/2011, after filling my 2006 chevrolet trailblazer with gasoline, i noticed the gas light had illuminated on when pulling out of the station parking lot.i drove down the road two-three miles before pulling over and letting the car sit for 20-30 minutes.upon restarting the engine, the gauge moved to 1/4 tank, and then dropped back to empty.i drove home, and upon starting the engine the next morning the gas gauge was still showing empty.after 2 days, the gauge moved back up to 3/4 tank. On 6/1/2011, i had 1/4 tank and refilled, only to find the gas light illuminated a second time after fueling.the gauge is currently reading 3/4 tank when just filled yesterday.2. In response to incorrect gasoline gauge in my trailblazer, i have begun paying close attention to miles driven and resetting my odometer at each fill-up. However this is only a quick-fix, as i foresee issues arising due to inability to properly read gasoline levels in my tank. 3. At this point, i have made a phone call to the dealer, estimated repair exceeds 1,000 usd.no action has been taken at this point to replace the fuel pump/gauge.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Happens everyday. The fuel gauge doesn't work on my 2006 chevy trailblazer.not fixed. Dealership wants several hundred dollars to fix it even after it has left me out of fuel twice. Once on the interstate in the snow.
Fuel gauge displays empty when filled, then works sporadically, mostly not at all, highly unreliable. Dealership says fuel sending unit, and possibly fuel pump.
The fuel sensor did not read correctly. It would read full then empty then half, quarter. Etc.
The fuel gauge reads empty when the tank is full. At first, it would level off after driving approximately 100 miles. The gauge then stayed at empty all of the time. My wife drives this vehicle on the highway and we're always concerned she will run out of gas in a very dangerous situation. Chevrolet customer assistance has offered to pay 50% of the repair cost of $700-800. I feel there should be a recall on the faulty fuel tank sensor that they admit needs to be replaced.
My fuel gauge does not work at all! 98% of the time the fuel gauge says i am on empty even though i have just filled up. While i am driving it will sporadically jump around and stick at different levels. I have read many complaints about this issue and know i am not the only one.i have run out of gas before because of this and now i am at the gas station pretty much every other day to make sure i do not run out.
Fuel sending unit failed so i could not tell how much fuel i had. Gm would not replace it. They sent me a letter that they had problems with them all. And would pay for half of the repair. That is unacceptable.
Gas gauge is not working properly.i can fill the tank and it will say that my fuel level is low, 2 blocks later it will say i can drive 240 miles and the needle will also go up, 4 blocks later they are both back down to only 64 miles for example, then back up again and then it will ding an alarm and say fuel level low.i have no idea how much gas i have in my tank ever.this is not safe for my son and i to be driving around not knowing when the gauges are working.what if we are out of town or on a country road or a bad area of town?please recall the sending unit so we can all get this problem fixed.there are many complaints about this faulty part.please do the right thing and fix it.i do not have $500 to spend on my vehicle.
