The first problem i had with my 2005 trailblazer was right after i purchased it. There was a problem when you tried to pump gas it would keep kicking the pump off. I took it to the dealership from which i had bought it. They worked on it said it was fixed, but it would do it at certain pumps. Then i had a problem with he passenger seat's sidepiece popped off and they fixed that but now the driver's side has done the same along with the lumbar support quit working.then the speedometer went crazy, it was all over the place and made a real bad noise. The dealership quoted off it would be over $400.00 to fix it.then the gas gauge popped up the "dummy light" as we call it when gas is getting low. The gauge quit registering the amount of gas in the tank. Then during the heat of summer the front fan quit working, the air conditioner worked and the other fans worked. I got a letter about the gas sensor and how i would have to pay half of it. That is a lot of money not counting the collision insurance and taxes and other expenses i have paid. They should be glad to help the working people who have always bought chevrolets. I will say this if they do not uphold some kind of quality on this high end automobile the next car i buy will not be an american because they won't stand by their products. It is just inappropriate that there have been a lot of the same complaints as i have about my car. I called the number on the paper that came out about the gas sensor and spoke with a nice lady named[xxx], she set it up for me to bring my car in for diagnostic check. I should know what all is damaged and in need of repair and how much will come out of my pocket.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I am not filing a complant. I got my car used and am only trying to find out how i know if any recalls on this vehicle were taken care of in the past?my car locks randomly and also want to know if there was ever a recall for electrical system?

Quit working speedometer.

I was driving with my son to go get my little sister. As i was driving up my drive was, which is a hill i have to go up. My 2005 chevy trailblazer 360 just shut off and i rolled back and slammed in to a tree on the driver side. The keys were also stuck in the ignition and we could not get them out. As we got the truck back home we had to use a crowbar to get the driver door open and take the door panel off to fix the window. I want to know why this is not on any recall list i see. Thank god my son was not hurt. Gm needs to fix this i don't have a car that is running because of this. And i'm not paying out of pocket to have it fixed and i can't take it were i got it just for the simple fact that it does not run and i'm not paying for a tow truck. Please fix this. Please email me if there is anything yall can do please.

My fuel gauge stopped working correctly, when i fill it up it will read empty. After about several hours the gauge will start to go up. Spoke to chev. Dealer and was told that time has passed for them to fix at on charge to me. I only have 86968 miles on it this should be changed to cover more time

First the oil pressure gauge spiked, then back to normal.next the gas gauge,it doesn't work at all,now the speedometer floats to about 100 mph.to me it sounds like this is a very common problem.i have been having problems with the cluster for approx 1 1/2 years. Surprised they were not forced into a recall. They know there are problems>

For approximately 6 months my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer's speedometer was intermittently showing that i was going from 100 to 120 mph. It didn't matter what speed i was actually going or even if i was sitting still.i called the chevrolet hotline because i noticed other owners having the same problem.they were basically not helpful.as many complaints that there are about this defect, i cannot believe the nhtsa has not stepped in.it is now happening all the time as it is approaching 74,000 miles which seems to be the mileage when everyone is stating they are having the most trouble.

The odometer stops working periodically. It has happened a lot recently, and sometimes it resets when we turn the car off, but sometimes that doesn't help. The needle will just get stuck even after breaking. Other times, it just falls down to zero while we are still at a higher rate of speed.

Fuel gauge shows inaccurate levels of fuel. When fuel tank is full gauge shows empty and low fuel light comes on. Once some fuel is used out of tank gauge begins acting erratically, fluctuating between empty and full and anywhere in between. I have made no repairs as of yet as i am unable to cover the costs at the moment.

I have a 2005 trailblazer. The dim lights just go off, they may stay off anywhere from 5-20 minutes.we have taken it to the dealer multiple times. They kept it overnight and had a technician drive it in an attempt to duplicate the problem. We have changed all of the relays and fuses and replaced the bulbs. I am scared to be out at night because of it as i am not always in a place where i can pull over to wait for them to come back on, yet unfortunately,i work evening shift, therefore it is a requirement. This is not safe and i asked if things such as this are routinely reported to the manufacturer. I was given a very evasive answer. The brights still work, however that is not safe for other drivers.i have found a lot of complaints of the same nature regarding the trailblazer on the internet. One would think gm would do something about it, or will they again wait until someone is killed?

After filling the vehicle with fuel, the fuel gauge will fluctuate, not providing an accurate indication of the actual fuel level. Not having an accurate fuel level may risk the vehicle stalling while driving. Numerous similar consumer complaints noted for this vehicle.

Fuel gauge defect; reads empty when the vehicle has gas in it. Also reads a higher level of gas than what is actually in it. Every morning when starting the vehicle the fuel gauge light comes on even when the vehicle has gas. I never know how much gas is in the vehicle, i am worried it will shut off when driving down the road. This began at 80000 miles, and has been constant ever since.

The fuel gauge doesn't work properly i have to reset the trip meter every time i fill it up with gas. I know others have had complaints about this issue just like to see gm help with this issue with a recall on them and pay for the costs since this is a major issue with a lot of people.

My 05 trailblazer ls stalled out at intersection mile from my home. I'm getting false reading from my fuel gauge.

Fuel gauge not reading right. Ran out several times and have got stuck in the middle of busy streets, at intersections, and on highway. Have children and is very dangerous.

Gas gauge quit working.

2005 chevy trailblazer. Fuel gauge sending unit is working some times and other times it doesn't. After about 60000 miles it wouldn't work right, of course dealership wanted to fix right away for about 600.00 dollars. My sons girl friend has a 2003 trailblazer with the same problem. Recently, the gas gauge in my vehicle has stopped working correctly.it no longer accurately reports how much fuel i have. In researching the issue, i have discovered that this is a very common problem with this type of vehicle (2005 chevrolet trailblazer).although nothing has happened to me personally, i have read of instances where the car ran out of gas while on the highway because the driver assumed that gas gauge was working correctly.this is a potential safety issue.with it occurring so frequently, there are obviously defective parts being used.it seems to occur most often in 2005 - 2006 vehicles based on the gmt360/370 platform (chev. Trailblazer, gmc envoy, etc).if needed, i can provide a link to several sites where people are reporting this problem.or, a quick search on google.com for "2005 trailblazer gas gauge problems" will provide a list.

When we first got the truck my husband and i were drivingat about 55 mph and went to brake suddenly and the truck would not stop, it made a grinding sound and i had to pump the brakes a few times before the finally stopped. After that we called the dealer and they said it is because the truck was new.. It is 2014 and still have the truck and still does the same thing. Last winter i had a bad incident where the car did the same thing and almost got into a very bad accident, thank god i was able walk away with no injuries. We have reached out to the dealer numerous of times to say that there is something wrong with the brake mechanism of the truck and they say that there are no recalls on this vehicle. I don't know why the dealer just wont take the truck for a test drive and see why we are so concerned. They want to charge us almost $300 to run a diagnostics on the truck which we refuse to pay for.we took the car to a midas and the mechanic said that these trucks are known for having bad brake sensors, which makes all the sense. I just don't get it.. With all of the complaints that were given before the latest electrical short recall they had, you would think they would take customers seriously before any more deaths occur, because of negligence.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer 360. The contact stated that there was a random failure in which the vehicle increased speed without warning upon releasing the accelerator pedal. The contact constantly had to ensure that the brake pedal was applied when the accelerator pedal was released because the vehicle would independently surge forward numerous times without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than twice and they were not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
