I was driving homefrom work when my car swerved to the right and went of the road and hit a grove of trees head on.my car was totaled and none of my airbags went off.why does this happen i could have been killed.also i received a safety notice about my cheverolet tracker 4 days before this happened having a problem with the front suspension crossmember doe someone have to die before a recall is doneand why didn't my air bags go off someone please look at this car before it gets hauled off by the adjuster!!!!! i was airlifted to the hospital the fire department cut the roof of my car off to get meout no airbags what happened!!!

Consumer stated that on monday may 11, 2004 while sitting at a light vehiclewas hit from the rearat approximately 30-35 mph.consumer's vehicle was pushed into another vehicle.upon impact, air bags did not deploy.consumersustainedchest, head ,abdomen, and back injuries.also, consumer's wife who was a passenger in vehicle sustained head, neck and leg injuries.

My airbag light has been on for almost 2 years. There are no codes, and the mechanics can't figure out how to fix this.

I rented a chevrolet tracker 2003 and was hit head on by another driver and everyone there notice that the airbag did not open.this was a head on accident.i will be filing this to a lawyer short as i was hurt.

I was at a complete stop and was rearended by a vehicle who did not see me and did not attempt to stop hitting me going 35-50 mph and pushing my car into the vehicle in front of me and impact that vehicle. My frontal airbag did not deploy and my seatbelt did not restrain me. I believe both of these were faulty and did not work properly based on the speed i was hit. My car was totalled by the insurance company. I was seriously injured with permanent facial damage.

While driving 37 mph the vehicle was involved in a head on collision. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The passenger sustained severe whiplash. Please provide additional information.

I was driving on i-190 in the right hand lane on dec 19, 2003.a car coming up an entrance ramp merged into my line almost hitting me.i swerved to avoid the crash but subsequently hit some black ice and was unable to recover control.i hit the concrete barrier head on.the insurance company's(progressive) claims agent figures i was going about 50 mph at impact. The impact so extreme that my tracker shifted itself into 4wd and turned on the highbeams.basically anything that could go forward did.the whole front of the vehicle was pushed back 6" and my liscence plate was ripped off, but yet my airbags never deployed.if it weren't for my seatbelt, i may not be here to type this.i had severe whiplash, as well as, putting my left knee through my dash board.the impact of the crash should have hit at least one, if not all, sensors.i feel this is a major problem.i will be filing a formal complaint with chevy regarding this issue.

Fuses and brakers keep popping/blowing about once a month. When popped the vehicle loses the ability for the brakes to illuminate brighter when you put your foot on the brake, as well as the ability to use the horn. Recently i had a different fuse pop that cut all electrical functions inside of the vehicle as well as affecting some on the outside. The following failed. The break lights were not visible when turned on or when you put your foot on the break, emergency flashers did not work, all dashboard lighting failed, door locks did not work, when you open the door the light would not turn on inside of the car, when the car was parked i had to manually engage the shifter by going underneath of the shifter and releasing the lock while my foot was on the break and then move the shifter to neutral at the same time to get the vehicle into drive. These have been recurring issues with regular shop matneince the vehicle has only 135000 miles on it currently. It has plenty of life in it and there is no reason for these continued issues. Help!!!

1.i was driving atapproximately 65 mph for about an hour, with the outside temperature at approximately -10f to -15f.please note that my vehicle does not have cruise (speed) control. 2.i noticed that the engine was revving on its own, and maxxing out!the accelerator no longer had any effect and the engine was going as fast as it could even with my foot completely off of the accelerator.braking was ineffective because the engine counteracted any braking attempt.when i moved my gear shift to neutral the tachometer redlined.i left the vehicle in neutral, came to a stop and turned the engine off.a few minutes later i turned the engine on again and it was behaving normally again.i continued my trip, but 30 minutes later the same thing happened again.it does not occur when the weather is warmer (above -10f)3.i have done nothing to correct the failure, but i will not permit anyone except me to drive the vehicle, since i know how to react to it now.this seems like an extreme safety issue and i was surprised that there hasn't been a recall yet.that's why i'm contacting you.

On 2 times, when driving on a highway in july car stalled.after 1st stall it was taken to bellavilla chevrolet who could find nothing wrong.after second stall vehicle was again returned to bellavia who suspects that problem is probably due to a defective camshaft position sensor.

My wife was driving. She slowed to approximately 10-15 mph for a dip in the road that contained water. After going through the dip/water she started to accelerate but began fish-tailing. She immediately took her foot off the accelerator and pumped the brake and tried to correct the fish-tailing. However, the car continued out-of-control. She then slammed on the brake and held in down, but could not stop the vehicle. It traveled approximately 375 feet, first going off the road to the right, over a curb, hit a chain link fence, careened across the road, over another curb, through about six feet of 12 inch boulders and through the wall of a building. The only way we can explain this, is that the accelerated had to have malfunctioned. In fact, when the vehicle finally came to a stop, the engine was still racing and the rear wheel had dug a six inch hole in the dirt from spinning. N addition, the airbags did not deploy.

Cpsc:i1430188a. 2003 chevrolet tracker. Consumer stated he was in an accident which he was rear ended while waiting to make a turn. When the car was rear ended it ruptured the gas tank. *lnthe consumer stated the vehicle hit him at full speed. The collision pushed him 30 feet across the intersection into a median sign. There was a trail of ignited gas from the point of impact to where he stopped. The vehicle was a total loss, with no salvageable part on the entire vehicle.

Massive fuel leak. Fuel filter is mounted above rear axel to right of rear axel bracket looking rearward, when vehicle is loaded bracket rubs rubber fuel line from filter to hard line. Rubber fuel line was cut by sharp edge on axel rear bracket fuel under pressure sprayed all over under carriage and near exhaust line.lost about a quarter tank in no time. The bracket is welded unto the rear axel i suppose to limit rear axel upper travel.

Loud noise in front end of vehicle when cold. This makes a very loud grinding, squeaking noise in the front end of the vehicle when the outside temperature is at or below 22 degrees fahrenheit. The noise goes away after about 5 to 10 minutes of driving. The dealer says there is no fix for this!i have two 2003 trackers..and they both make this loud, irritating noise when its cold. Its so loud sometimes, you can hear it a block away. There is no excuse for a manufacturer to ignore a problem like this..even though it may not be safety related, it should still be fixed for free. The dealer says it is a axle seal grinding.

Lost brakes without warning going down a steep hill. Had to gear down and use emergency brake to slowly get to a mechanic. He said the brake lines had rusted thru causing me to suddenly lose brake fluid. He also made the comment that gm should have used stainless brakes lines and since they did not it kept his shop in business.

On march 8, 2003 i purchased this vehicle. After about 2 or so weeks, i encountered rattling and squeaking. On several occasions i have taken my vehicle to the dealer to have them find the problem. No one has been able to find the problem. Each time i get a courtesy call on how service was, i tell them the service was fine, and that still no one has been able to find my squeaking and rattling. I am told that someone will get back to me on this. To this date (july 22, 2006), i have not heard from anyone. I am getting fed up. What am i supposed to do? i have children i drive around and they hear the problem and do not want to be in my vehicle, but they have no choice as i am the driver.

I applied my brakes tostop my tracker, but the acceleratorstuck at the speed i was going. I pushed the brakes, i couldn't get them to work full force. The tracker was accelerating and just slightly braking ,both at the same time. I got the tracker to a full stop just before i entered a cross road to a highway.... Not funny.... Fix it, be fore some one is killed.i saw four other complaints refering to a similar proplems.i had the veh. In the shop and they could find nothing. Something 'is' wrong.c.s.c.s.

Driver stepped on accelerator, accelerator stuck, vehicle struck a parked vehicle, driver passed out. When driver awoke, she found she had struck eight parked vehicles and a pedestrian. No citations were issued, no drugs/alcohol, foul play or negligence was found to be the cause of the accident.a recallhas been issued for the suzuki vitara (#03v51200) which is the sister vehicle to the tracker (same assembly line/parts.) i do not understand why the tracker - this failure occurred exactly as the recall information described under "consequence."nhtsa personnel told me they did not know why chevrolet has not recalled the trackers, and suggested i call chevrolet and ask. I urge anyone else with a tracker (1999-2003) who has had a similar problem with the gas pedal sticking to file a complaint...nhtsa said one complaint will not generate an investigation, but that several complaints might. So far, only one tracker owner has filed a complaint (#10056284) this accident could have resulted in far worse than 9 wrecked vehicles (the tracker will likely be totaled), an injured pedestrian and an injured driver!!!!!!

I am quite concerned that a recall was issued (# 03v512000) for a faulty accelerator cable on the suzuki models of vitara, grand vitara and the xl-7 and not the chevrolet tracker. It is built and assembled with the identical parts at the same factory on the same assembly line. At this time i am driving around with a potentially dangerous defect in my 2003 chevrolet tracker and nhtsa did not have the fore sight to afford me through recall, the same replacement for this identical part along with thousands of other 1999-2003 chevrolet tracker owners.

2003 chevrolet tracker has problems with the battery, the transmitter for the door, the air conditioner, and the defroster. *mr the windows would freeze in the winter in severe cold weather.the consumer would have to scrape the interior windows.the problem would occur in all of the windows of the vehicle including the rear windows, the a/c had gone out, the battery was replaced at 14000 miles and there were several attempts to repair the heating vents to be directed to the floor as the venting only blew into the interior dash. *sc the starter was replaced.

When turning vehicle to the left a grinding noise was heard.dealerreplaced the steering gear box to resolve the problem.also, all the windows had spots that the dealer could not remove by cleaning.*mr
