There is a dashboard crack near the passenger side dashboard airbag cover.this is a known issue with this year and model vehicle.

My 2014 chevrolet tahoe has a 2 inch crack in the dashboard on the passenger side tthat starts at the top left corner of the rectangular "cut out" to the edge of that piece of the dashboard.i am concerned that the effectiveness of the air bag if the car is impacted and do not trust gm's analysis of this question.from what i am reading on the internet, this problem is happening all too often and needs to be fixed by gm.this problem could absolutely be a serious, life threatening issue in case of an accident.
Driving down the road, my dashboard cracked on the corner of the passenger side air bag.the dashboard was not struck in anyway or the car did not hit a bump.i'm afraid of the crack being there because it is so close to the airbag housing.

The manufacturer was contacted again to determine when the vehicle would receive the recall repair parts. The contact was not experiencing a failure.

I am writing to you asking for assistance in replacement of my dashboard . I use the october date as we have noticed the cracks over the last couple months. One of the cracks is directly above where the passenger airbag is. I have discovered that there are 10000 members on a cracked dashboard site on facebook. I do not understand why gm does not stand behind this. I am concerned if the airbag deploys and someone is in the passenger seat they can be impaileded with hard pieces of plastic. I love my 2014 tahoe ltz and has planned on trading it in on a new tahoe or suburban. I am concerned that this will impact my resale value of the vehicle and im of the understanding that general motors will not stand behind this and fix it. I am working with my dealer but having the same problem. I cannot really determine whether the vehicle was stationary in motion etc. I just believe that the cracking has happened over time. I use a sun visor for the most part and live in northern virginia so it we do not have extreme heat for the most part.
Sometimes the vehicle will not start. When running the door locks open and close rapidly, the service trailer brake warning comes on, the low battery warning comes on then goes off, the airbag light flashes on and off. While driving the vehicle serges, and stalls completely for a brief moment. The battery is new, and the dealer says the battery and alternator check out ok. The last oil change about two months ago, the dealer said they could not duplicate the problem.
On multiple occasions when accelerating, highway and subdivision streets, the vehicles trailer brake would engage and the car would become unsafe to continue driving.the vehicle's radio would also randomly restart, the instrument panel would flicker on and off and the power door locks would cycle up and down continuously.the only want to reset the vehicle was to turn it off for a little bit and then back on and the problem would go away for a little while.there are multiple accounts online of other chevy vehicles having very similar issues, all which seem to be related to the negative battery cable not properly handling the load and needing to be replaced.

I was driving on the service road, preparing to enter the highway. Suddenly, the door-locks started going up and down repeatedly, and the interior lights started flashing on and off repeatedly. Then the engine turned off which made it come to a sudden hard stop. The engine restarted on its own. Thankfully, my dealership was at the nearest intersection, so i was able to drive the 2014 tahoe to the dealership. The locks continued to go up and down and the interior lights continued to flash on and off as i pulled into the dealership. I turned the car off to go inside of the dealership to let the manager know what had just happened. My husband came to the dealership to see what was going on. The manager told us to pull the car around to the service department, but the car would not start and had to be towed to the service department. I did a search and saw that there was a recall on 2014 chevrolet tahoes for electrical issues that could cause it to stall. A couple of days later the dealership and service department had to close for a while because of covid-19, but when they reopened the service manager informed me that my vin number was not included in the recall; therefore, gm will not pay for my vehicle to be repaired. I refuse to drive it in that condition so i've traded it in for a new, non-chevrolet/gm vehicle. I am reporting this to prevent anyone else from purchasing and driving this vehicle until it has been repaired. It's dangerous!

2014 chevrolet tahoe police pursuit vehicle (ppv) issued new by highway patrol in 2q14. Vehicle presented with near complete stalling at idle in park, as well as idle in drive with brake applied - where engine intermittently has trouble stabilizing rpms between 0.7 and 0.6, and the gauge needle moves back and forth, sometimes erratically. Also lack of power or lag, several seconds hesitation upon rapid and non-rapid acceleration (making even gauging and pulling directly out into highway speed traffic unsafe), uncontrolled idle surge when idle stalling regained throttle (resulting in forward lunging). Vehicle received a hot weather surge/sag engine calibration which only seemed to mitigate some severity of symptoms, but problems returned within days to weeks. Vehicle received at least another two separate engine calibrations with same results. With less than 15k miles, original symptoms remain and echo those of several other users in the same agency (even in cooler weather). These are very similar to safety concerns raised in the 2013 model in complaints by municipalities in nhtsa complaints id# 10598212 06/19/14 and 10641010 10/14/14. Unpredictable lunging, lack of acceleration and hesitation are primary safety concerns for an emergency vehicle which must be predictable.

The electrical system fails, causing the entire car to stop operating. Gm says that they will not fix, even though they put out a gm recall bulletin 14515b. Gm says my vin# is not included. It is a 2014 with the same issue as in bulletin? interior lights blink, service trailer brake control light comes on, then entire vehicle loses all electrical. Car stops and will not restart. First started in 04/16, every few months, and most recently 01/04/17 and again 01/14/17.

Classic cheverlot sold me my tahoe and taking responsibility since day one for the original recall . I have been here 2015/2016/ 2017/2018/2019 for the 'trailer breaking system ' per dash board flashing at me. Then car doesn't want to start and it's not my battery!!! it's a defect in the car module system!
This vehicle endured and accident in 2017.state farm insurance company and other insurance companies has rated this vehicle as high risk.the seller, lafontaine automotive group didn't disclose this information and it was missing on the carfax.this is a major concern.sway bars on both sides of the truck was replaced within a week of driving the vehicle.although the dealership serviced the repairs;it's imperative that they run thorough test prior to selling safe vehicles.this type of repaired service was life threatening. It goes back and forth for no reason and have no answer why abs traction control and stabilitrack light comes back and forth
Chasi electrical component recall, trailer breaking system , car dead won't start 3 years of this , battery replaced every year , spark plugs etc i have been to classic cheverlot very year and they just sit there and die the same thing and pull records saying showed battery and that's fraud . I bring in for this and starts with car not starting then breaking system and then al power loss.purchased vehicle 5/2014, recalled , 12-2015 12-2016, 12-2017,1-2019. Same thing car won't start , flashes trailer breaking system

Was accelerating on the interstate on-ramp.accelerator pedal was depressed and when i released foot off pedal, it stayed in its position causing the vehicle to continue to accelerate.i stomped on pedal several times to get it to release.it finally released and i was in control of the vehicle.
The dash has cracked and was told by my county officer that if i was in an accident my airbags may not deploy.also i have been unable to put gas in my suv due to it taking 27 minutes because it clicks off.

Was getting 20 to 22 mpg on the highway then it suddenly dropped to where i would only be getting 15 to 16 mpg. I have also gone out and gotten gas the night before and after reseting the average mpg i would be back up to getting 19 to 20 on city streets and go out the following morning and on the first start up and it would drop back down to 12 to 13 on while stationary and stay that way for the rest of the week even after going back on the highway at times. I have had the efi cleaned at least 3 to 4 times since owning the vehicle. So i'm starting to wonder if a part of the electronic control unit could possibly not be working properly.
Vehicle 4wd selector set to auto. Started vehicle. Vehicle 'service 4wd' warning light came on.vehicle became stuck in 4wd mode. I visited a dealer on 11/5/20, to see what they would do. They contacted gm, who refused to make any remedy, stating it was out of warranty, even though this is a significant safety issue.vehicle has never been in an accident and there are no visible signs of damage to the buckle end. It is progressively getting worse to latch. Also. The parking brake fails to properlysecure the vehicle, even when pushed to the floor. Probably a poor design, even when adjustedproperly.

During officer training left and right steer hubs failed coming off, same training since 2012 using tahoe's and same as pursuit driving ppv tahoe.
During officer training left steer hub came apart. Same training since 2012 and no different then pursuit driving. Ppv tahoe. We have another unit and filing separate case with same issue but both steer hubs failed.
My tahoe has only 40,000 mi. When braking the vehicle shakes and shivers especially when braking at highway speeds. I replaced my tires even though they were only half worn to see if that was the problem but it didn't charge anything. #2 complaint is my rear doors fill with water when it rains. After looking up this problem on line,it appears that they are made to do that and i do think that should be that way!

While i was washing my 2014 tahoe ltz i noticed my front dash board was cracked in 2 places. Now when i drive it shakes and i am afraid that if the air bags deploy i could get the shattered pieces thrown back into me and my families face.

There are several cracks in the plastic front dash.one crack in front of passenger front seat near airbag. One in front dash in frontof driver seat. The inside door panel on the drivers side also is broken.the part that you grab to close the door from the inside.

My dashboard is cracked in two different areas. I see that many dashboard between 2013 and 2017 chevy tahoes have crack. One of the cracks leads into the compartment that holds the front passenger airbag. These cracks are not from neglect and these crabs are not from heat because i use sun visors daily due to the fact that i'm black on black and it keeps the car much cooler. I have attached pictures and i feel that general motors should take care of this. This is a $70,000 vehicle when new. I cannot say exactly when i noticed it for the first time because it is flat on the dashboard. The crack on the passenger side happened first first noticed probably january 2020 but may have happened before that ???

Cracking dash board. My car was bought brand new and my first crack occurred at 3 years old to the left corner of my airbag. Second crack just recently occurred near drivers side. Chevrolet and my dealership are not helping me to replace my dash. My car is not that old and outside of warranty. When driving down highway it starts to crack more and raddle and shake . I am afraid that the dash or steering column is going to come off if there were to be an accident. I have called gm and they have no regards or concerns for my safety and told me its my problem.

I have a 2014 chevy sonic and since the first set of new wipers theyhave been an issue. The driver side one is the issue. They fly off with the vehicle is in motion. In total i have had seven wiper blades fly off on me while i was driving. Last friday we had major snow coming down quickly, on my way home my wiper blade flew off again. The ice froze to my windshield before i could get to a safe parking place. It made it difficult to see to pull over and get out of heavy traffic safely. I have had chevy personall, auto zone, and my husband all replace the wipers, it never fails they still end up flying off the driver side.
My 2014 tahoe dash is cracked between the passenger airbag and the windshield vent. I is just hard plastic. I have a sunroof and keep it open during the hot months and the windows are cracked to allow the hot air to escape. I also keep huge sun shades in the windshield. I tried to have it repaired. All she could do was try to mend the crack but didn't have any luck in filling the gap. She said she sees a lot of these and believes it is due to a design flaw. I believe it too. My dash still move up and down when driving. This should be a recall and repaired or replaced at gm's expense. I have asked my local chevy dealership how much for them to install a new one. It would be $ 1,500.00. I need someone who knows what to do because it involves the airbag. I am a devoted chevy owner and have spent way too much money to have something like cheap plastic as a dashboard.
Vehicle was purchased new and has cracking on dashboard near airbag.both front doors have lost all plastic in the door handle making it nearly impossible to grip door to close the doors, no form left to door handle.both door and dash have been this way for 2 years and out of warranty so no one will fix the issues!
The dashboard is cracked in three places within two weeks of each other.i was driving 35 mph when i hit a bump in the road that caused the first crack to occur in the center. Then the other two happened just with no other pressure or driving hazards.
My dashboard has a 2" crack starting from the top of the airbag and running up to the heat exchange vent. The vehicle was being driven and i heard a popping/cracking sound and after i returned from my trip i noticed the small crack in the dash.the crack continues to grow and now has spread along the heat exchange. Chevrolet said i would have to replace the entire dash at my expense. The vehicle is in excellent condition and because such care has been provided it should be warrantied by chevrolet.
Defective cracked dashboard. The crack continues to extend and in case of an accident, it could potentially puncture the air bag, greatly compromising safety. Additionally, the brittle dashboard could become sharp flying pieces in case of an accident. I contacted gm/chevrolet in may 2018 to report the crack and was given a quote for almost $2000.00 to replace the dashboard. Plenty of data shows that the defect of gm dashboards cracking is widespread, however, gm fails to acknowledge their fault and recall affected vehicles. I am contacting you as a concerned owner and law enforcement officer concerned for my safety and that of my family. I have done everything to get the problem fixed by gm or the gm dealership that sold me the vehicle. However, they all have turn a blind eye to the issue. I hope this message does not fall in deaf ears and you can assist me in solving this hazardous situation i am in due to gm lack of concern for safety.
The dashboard has a large crack on the driver's side.
Cracking dash board. My car was bought brand newand my first crack occured at 2 years old to the left corner of my airbag. Second crack just recently occured near drivers side. Chevrolet and my dealership are not helping me to replace my dash.
Yesterday while driving home, my dashboard exploded open. I guess this is a common problem with these cars which should be a serious problem to the manufacturer. After safely pulling over i was able to see that i now have a large crack in my dashboard. Parts shot out of the dash and could have hit me while driving. Please investigate!
On jan. 15th, 2017 my 2014 chevy tahoe got a crack on dash board located on passenger side by air bag. Other issue is the driver side outside door handle is also breaking off. Took my vehicle to chuck nash chevy in san marcos, tx on 1-25-17 & service advisor mentioned these are way to common issues with these vehicles and chevy motors is fully aware of the issues. Service advisor mentioned the newer vehicles should not have these issues anymore. However, i am expected to pay out of pocket as my warranty out.
Dash cracked/broken over steering. Stationary. Obviously inferior/defective material used.
My dash has cracked in two areas; by the instrument panel and by the air bag on the passenger side. I now have a constant chirping noise when driving.
I own a 2014 tahoe with only 34000 miles, a vehicle i'm still paying for. A few weeks ago, the dashboard cracked for no reason. I looked online and found out thousands of gm vehicles are affected by this same exact issue. The crack not only affects the value of the vehicle but also the safety of the passengers as it may puncture the airbag during deployment or sharp pieces of the dashboard can fly out as the dashboard is so brittle. As a government law enforcement officer i find it disturbing that the nhtsa has turned a blind eye to this problem. It is obvious a defect affecting thousands of vehicles and ignoring, putting hundres of lives at risk to save gm's bottom line, is unacceptable. I have exhausted countless hours dealing with gm's customer services reps and they all work out of a unified script and refuse to acknowledge the problem and replace the part. Now i find myself driving a time bomb with my family in it. I am begging your agency to look into this issue again and to not look the other way. I risk my life for this country every day to protect you and your families and i expect you to do the same for me and mine.
The dash surrounding the passenger side air bag has developed multiple cracks.this creates concern with the integrity of the plastic if the airbag were to deploy.this vehicle is garage kept and only used on the weekends due to the use of another vehicle for work.
Dashboard severely cracked above the instrument panel. Vehicle was stationary at the time of the incident.
The dash has cracked and was told by my county officer that if i was in an accident my airbags may not deploy.also i have been unable to put gas in my suv due to it taking 27 minutes because it clicks off.
While i was washing my 2014 tahoe ltz i noticed my front dash board was cracked in 2 places. Now when i drive it shakes and i am afraid that if the air bags deploy i could get the shattered pieces thrown back into me and my families face.

The dashboard in my vehicle like many other peoples dashboard has cracked completely. I was told that this a huge problem with all 2014 chevy tahoe's. I believe gm should fix this problem for me and all the others affected. This will cost me a substantial amount of money to be fixed and nothing was done other than me driving and parking my car. I read this could affect my airbags as well.
Similar to many other complaints previously filed, the dash board on my 2014 tahoe has numerous cracks.the cracks were first identified in april 2018 and have continued to grow in size and number.it has been inspected by a riverside chevrolet in wetumpka, al but this is not a part of a current safety recall.there is significant and growing concern that if the vehicle is involved in an accident that the passenger-side airbag will not work properly (having been cut by sharp pieces of the broken dash) or will propel pieces of the dash toward the occupants of the vehicle.this needs to be investigated so that gm will be forced to issue a safety recall for this known problem.
My tahoe has two major cracks abode the instrument cluster and by the passenger side airbag and gm refuses to admit that they have a ongoing and serious issue that if the airbag was to deploy would be a safety issue
There is a dashboard crack near the passenger side dashboard airbag cover.this is a known issue with this year and model vehicle.
Dash cracks near air bag and above steering wheel. I have read about numerous other vehicles with similar defects.
I am writing to you asking for assistance in replacement of my dashboard . I use the october date as we have noticed the cracks over the last couple months. One of the cracks is directly above where the passenger airbag is. I have discovered that there are 10000 members on a cracked dashboard site on facebook. I do not understand why gm does not stand behind this. I am concerned if the airbag deploys and someone is in the passenger seat they can be impaileded with hard pieces of plastic. I love my 2014 tahoe ltz and has planned on trading it in on a new tahoe or suburban. I am concerned that this will impact my resale value of the vehicle and im of the understanding that general motors will not stand behind this and fix it. I am working with my dealer but having the same problem. I cannot really determine whether the vehicle was stationary in motion etc. I just believe that the cracking has happened over time. I use a sun visor for the most part and live in northern virginia so it we do not have extreme heat for the most part.
Driving down the road, my dashboard cracked on the corner of the passenger side air bag.the dashboard was not struck in anyway or the car did not hit a bump.i'm afraid of the crack being there because it is so close to the airbag housing.
Takata recallmy dashboard is cracking on my 2014 chevrolet tahoe ltz. I have contacted gm and my dealer that i bought the car from. Gm is doing nothing on the part of help pay for it. I recently purchased a 2014 chevy tahoe with right at 40,000 miles on the vehicle. Shortly after i noticed the dash had cracked on the driver side by the top air vent. The crack has gotten even bigger in the following weeks. I also have a 2007 chevy silverado and the dash is cracked on it as well. I know several people who have had this same issue with poor quality gm parts. My tahoe is an ltz and expect quality when buying such. I called the dealership i bought the tahoe from and was informed they do not fix these unless i want to pay for it all out of my pocket.this is a gm quality issue that should be recalled and repaired by gm not the consumer.

Driving on the interstate (i-90 mt), on cruise control, braking for a car in front going slower, found that no braking occurred, sudden acceleration to 90mph, tried to change gears, turn off engine, pump brakes without results, then glancing blowto vehicle in front, no airbags deployed,bailed off road intoburrow pit, eventually slowed. 2014 chevrolet tahoe police pursuit vehicle (ppv) issued new by highway patrol in 2q14. Vehicle presented with near complete stalling at idle in park, as well as idle in drive with brake applied - where engine intermittently has trouble stabilizing rpms between 0.7 and 0.6, and the gauge needle moves back and forth, sometimes erratically. Also lack of power or lag, several seconds hesitation upon rapid and non-rapid acceleration (making even gauging and pulling directly out into highway speed traffic unsafe), uncontrolled idle surge when idle stalling regained throttle (resulting in forward lunging). Vehicle received a hot weather surge/sag engine calibration which only seemed to mitigate some severity of symptoms, but problems returned within days to weeks. Vehicle received at least another two separate engine calibrations with same results. With less than 15k miles, original symptoms remain and echo those of several other users in the same agency (even in cooler weather). These are very similar to safety concerns raised in the 2013 model in complaints by municipalities in nhtsa complaints id# 10598212 06/19/14 and 10641010 10/14/14. Unpredictable lunging, lack of acceleration and hesitation are primary safety concerns for an emergency vehicle which must be predictable.
Was accelerating on the interstate on-ramp.accelerator pedal was depressed and when i released foot off pedal, it stayed in its position causing the vehicle to continue to accelerate.i stomped on pedal several times to get it to release.it finally released and i was in control of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet tahoe. While driving in a rainstorm, the windshield wipers seized and became inoperable. The driver coasted over to the side of the road and waited until the rain stopped to resume driving. The contact was a certified mechanic and he replaced the wiper transmission and motor. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer, but was repaired. The contact stopped by c. Wimberley automotive group (5608 m 51 s, dowagiac, mi 49047, (800) 782-2151), but was not assisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The vehicle was on motion smoke just started coming from everywhere. Also the vehicle statred to over heat. The police came and help me to a safe area i was crying dont no whats wrong. I did service the car two days ago, but the dash says service engine oil. My car also shakes when stopped also vibrates when you drive over 70 mph.my seat belt on the driver side wont stay in.my windshield wipers dont work well when it rains

The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 43,000.
During officer training left steer hub came apart. Same training since 2012 and no different then pursuit driving. Ppv tahoe. We have another unit and filing separate case with same issue but both steer hubs failed.
During officer training left and right steer hubs failed coming off, same training since 2012 using tahoe's and same as pursuit driving ppv tahoe.
