Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 21v053000 (air bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The approximate failure mileage was 124,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Cracked dashdash is cracked in the area of the passenger side airbag.this poses a safety concern in the event of an airbag deployment as fragments of broken dash would become projectiles within the cab of the vehicle

Crack in dash adjacent to the passenger airbag. Concern dash would shatter if air bag deploys.

I noticed a small crack in my dash above the airbag on the passenger side over a year ago.it has now grown to several cracks above both the passenger and driver airbag.i take great care of my vehicle, even purchased the extended bumper to bumper warranty.if i was in an accident, the cracks in the dash and the poor quality of the dash could prevent the airbags from deploying correctly.

My dash board cracked in the two places my air bags are located. It just cracked for no reason on both passenger and driver sides

This is a series of crack on the front dashboard. Started from the cowling over instrument panels and has spread to a section by the passenger airbag. There have been a number of gm vehicles with this same dashboard cracking but gm does nothing about it. I'm only a little over 50k miles.

The vehicle dashboard has cracked in several places to include the area surrounding the passenger airbag, and near the steering column.in the event of a vehicle crash with airbag deployment, the dashboard could fragment and become a hazardous projectile.

On my 2013 tahoe a crack suddenly appeared on my dash by the passages airbag. I am a true and faithful user of a windshield shade and dash conditioner that prevents cracks in dash. This crack appeared 6 months after the purchase it and have tried several times to get chevrolet to do something about it with no luck. Now the dash is caving in which is going to affect my passenger airbag. I don't want to wait until someone is with me and it cause harm to my passenger.i shouldn't have to pay for a new dash that has had thousands of complaints dealing with dash crack problems in this kind of vehicle.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured along the passenger side frontal air bag housing. The contact was concerned about the safety of the vehicle in the event of a crash necessitating the deployment of the air bag. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.

The dashboard has cracked in multiple locations including 3 cracks around the passenger airbag which i believe leads to a safety hazard should the bag deploy. If deployed, the shattered plastic would be sent as projectiles through the car resulting in serious injury to the driver and passengers. Also, if the airbag is deployed, the plastic shards could cut the airbags rendering them ineffective. I'm asking for this to be reported to general motors as a sever safety concern and issue a recall to correct the problem before there is serious injury. Thank you.

I have a 2013 chevy tahoe z71 with approximately 45,000 miles.thereare a total of three cracks in my dashboard one on the drivers side above the instrument panel and the other two are on the passenger side right above the passenger airbag.i was told by gm that i would have to repair the dash myself and pay out of pocket.

I received recall and i call my gm dealer and they have not yet called me as of today to get this recall done.they told me that the parts are not in and it has been already 3 months since then.

My dashboard has cracked in two places as shown on the attached photos.one crack is near the housing for the airbag, and the other is forming above the steering wheel.the cracks result in the dashboard shacking on any uneven road surface, so eventually the smaller crack will progress across the entire dashboard.i understand there is a class action lawsuit against chevy due to a safety hazard from this defective part.replacement or repairs are estimated to be $1200-$2000.this has happened over the course of normal driving.

The dashboard has cracked next to the passenger side airbag decreasing structural integrity of the dash and increasing the risk of plastic shards being ejected at the passenger during airbag deployment. This is a well documented defect affecting multiple models and years that share the same dashboard design. The manufacturer is aware of the issue and refuses to voluntarily address the problem.

Dash has cracked over the last year around the airbag and concern is that pieces could become shrapnel in case of a deployment.

Cracking in the dashboard that has carried into the airbag section of the dash that prevented deployment in an accident on both passenger and driver sides of dash

Cracked dash by passenger air bag not long after i purchased the vehicle i woke up got into my tahoe and saw a crack.

There is a crack in my dash next to the passenger airbag. Car is always parked in garage! can hear the dash shifting occasionally while i am driving.

My 2013 tahoe has cracks in the dashboard over the steering column and the passenger seat side. There are pictures attached. The cracks just happened.i have reported this before, nothing happened.it has gotten worse. I have taken to get it fixed but cost is outrageous.i have ordered two dash covers neither matched.now by front doors (both the driver and passenger side) pull handles are falling part.every time you pull the door shut it pinches your fingers or slips and you almost fall down.every unsafe.this was my dream car. My husband has owned several tahoes that he uses in is buildingbusiness, he does not baby is vehicles and his interior could be cleaned up and look like new and it's a 2004 with almost 300,000 miles on it.my interior rattles and looks so cheap.i am 66 years old.i can not afford a new tahoe or a used one they are way to expensive if these problems are going to happen.i took to a dealership2 weeks ago to get an estimate on the parts and labor.i voted the parts quote but haven't heard from the labor.i can't believe you have to buy the entire door panels.i am ashamed to drive my car with family and friends in it, because it rattlesand looks horrible.i am afraid it the crack over the steering may cause some electrical or some other problems.i would like a response to these problems. I have friends with the exact problems. I would consider buying any else, but we have always been chevy fans.i don't know now?

I received notification in march 2021 of a gm recall n212328800.i promptly contacted my gm dealer.my gm dealer ordered the replacement part & we dropped off the car.an hour later, we were told the repair was complete & we arrived to pick up the car. When signing the paperwork, we noticed a note indicating that the dashboard was cracked on arrival.we immediately went out to the car and found 2 cracks in the dashboard.the dashboard was not cracked on arrival. I had just wiped off the dash that morning prior to bringing the car to the dealer. We talked to the service manager who said they took pictures and had video.we asked to see said pictures and video & once they went looking for them, they told us they did not save for some reason. We pushed the issue further with the general manager.they refused to take responsibility for the cracked dash that occurred during the airbag repair. They refused to fix my dashboard. They did not tell us at any point prior to the repair that this could happen. I am not sure what type of hazard this may be to us in the future but the resale value just took a hit.i know there has been a class action lawsuit for similar types of damage from this takata airbag recall.i am following protocol by reporting this to you.

Dashboard cracking next to airbag.

The inside door panel on the drivers side broke where handle is. Very very disgusted at all the problems i have had with my vehicle while it was new

This vehicle was purchased from mac haik chevrolet in houston, tx. Only one key was provided during the vehicle purchase. The other key was promised in an "we owe you" statement, but never received. At some point in time, it is believed the 2nd key was used to access this vehicle at undisclosed location(s) and or time(s) in addition to onstar app access. The vehicle began to make rubbing sounds when turning corners and losing a little power. In july 2014, i noticed my vehicle seemed to shake when going over speed bumps in a manner inconsistent with the way it normally went over speed bumps most times after vehicle delivery. In addition to, the engine seemed to be idling too high at no speed and in a manner inconsistent with the way it performed most times after vehicle delivery. Also, the dashboard is cracked around the airbag.in august 2014, i went back to the dealer for inspection of these problems. I was informed repairs were made to the front differential of the vehicle and the transmission was overfilled. I was provided a statement of the work, but i felt the verbal explanation for the work was too vague being my vehicle was in the shop for approx. 2 weeks. On or about october 1, 2015 i contacted the general motors chevrolet customer representative at the phone number listed on www.gm.com as (800) 222-1020. In this phone conversation, i was informed repairs were not done to the front differential, but to the rear differential and or powertrain. No warranty repair information was on file for any such repairs to the front powertrain. I contacted upper management with the dealership and there was no assistance provided to me in proactively resolving this discrepancy. I believe this vehicle may be hazardous based on the discrepancy of repairs and supplemental death insurance for me being attached to this vehicles vin without my knowledge.

Takata recall. While my tahoe was in a repair shop to have the new air bag control module reprogrammed, the side curtain air bags deployed. .in addition, i noticed the deployed side air bags do not cover the front driver's or passenger side windows. Therefore, it appears to be only a partial deployment or a defective design that in addition to accidental deployment, they do not protect people in the front seats.

Dash cracking in corner of passenger air bag. Creates potential hazard that may affect safe operation of the airbag in the event of an accident.

Low mileage vehicle, stored in a garage at work and at home.dashboard cracked at passenger side airbag. Serious safety issue as plastic parts from broken dashboard can become deadly missiles during airbag deployment and potentially harm or cause death to passenger (my child). Spent nearly $600 for a dashboard assembly that should have never required replacing.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver and the four passengers in the vehicle sustained whiplash that did not require medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed, but the body damages were repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

I own a 2013 chevrolet tahoe lt. I take good care of my vehicle. Last week, i noticed multiple cracks in my dashboard in the immediate vicinity of my passenger side airbag; they seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. There was no incident beforehand that could have caused the damage. My vehicle was stationary from the last time i had used it, to the next time i entered my vehicle and noticed the dashboard cracks. I took my vehicle to preston chevrolet, a nearby gm dealership, and i was advised by the service dept. Manager that this type of issue is not a common occurrence, although he had seen it in the past.. He further advised that he was unable to obtain or provide any sort of financial assistance to me in having the defective, damaged dashboard repaired. After researching, i found that it is quite a common problem, and what's more, that chevy tahoe's are the 'common denominator.' i feel that i have been mislead by preston chevrolet. I've since contacted gm and i am awaiting a response from a "senior case advisor." i am primarily concerned about my safety and the safety of my passengers. In the event of a motor vehicle collision, i am certain that shards of plastic would be hurtled into the air, becoming dangerous projectiles that could cause serious bodily injury or harm, not to mention the poor aesthetic appearance and overall devaluation of my vehicle that the fractures have caused. This is clearly a manufacturers defect. I feel i am owed repair and/or restitution from gm as a result.

The dashboard has cracked in my 2013 chevrolet tahoe putting the passenger at risk during an accident. Since the crack runs down to the airbag it could possible shatter the plastic and damage passengers. I have found this to be a very common issue and that injuries have occurred due to this unsafe dash. This needs to be a safety recall for the safety of the drivers and passengers.

The dashboard has cracked next to the passenger side airbag decreasing structural integrity of the dash and increasing the risk of plastic shards being ejected at the passenger during airbag deployment. Manufacturer is aware of the issue and refuses to replace dashboard. Vehicle is on 3 years old

Dashboard on the driver side is cracking and extending upwards towards the driver.consistently rattles when vehicle is in motion.crack is also visible on the passenger side leading towards the airbag. Both cracks were noticed when vehicle was in motion.

Cracked dashboard bought my 2013 chevy tahoe ltz.has only 98000 miles on it.just noticed a crack at the top left corner of the dashboard, right at the edge of the passenger airbag.two weeks later, another cracked appeared on the driver side, from the bottom edge of the dashboard and continued up and over the instrument cluster hump.both cracks appeared while stationary. This vehicle is primarily garaged and has a windshield cover.very disappointed, since the new retail of this vehicle is close $50,000 brand new and costs over $1000 to replace at the dealer.not to mention, this is our primary family vehicle, which my wife, 7 yo, 4 yo and 6 month old ride in on a daily basis.

The dash of my 2013 tahoe which i paid 48,000 cracked in two places soon as my warranty expired! all of my door handles on outside have fallen off and been replaced ed and the driver door panel has been replaced because of handle breaking . Too much other mess to explain. Just a very cheaply made vehicle. Very dissatisfied !i would like to file a formal complaint followed up with a formal investigation

I bought a replacement radiator core support manufactured in china. It has a defect that requires the front air bag sensors be installed facing the opposite direction from the normal orientation (rearward rather than forward). However, i suspect that may affect air bag sensor function and possibly air bag deployment during an accident. Online chats with the sensor manufacturer result in evasive answers due to potential liability. Therefore, i believe the chinese manufactured radiator core supports should be recalled.

Dash is cracking around passenger airbag.vehicle is garage kept and a sun visor used when parked in the sun.this vehicle has never been in a collision and none of the air bags have ever deployed in this vehicle.the crack seems cosmetic but given the location, i am concerned about the integrity of the air bag assembly

2013 chevy tahoe, defective cracked dashboard. Safety issue could result in defective or unsafe deployment of air bag, not cosmetic according to several other reports. Driver side, behind cluster. Http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2014/11/19/call-kurtis-investigates-cracks-in-some-gm-dashboards/https://www.facebook.com/groups/gmdashcrack/http://www.courthousenews.com/2015/04/15/dangerous-dash-cracks-alleged-in-gm-trucks.htm

Dash cracked front passenger side, aboveand into left side of airbag compartment. Vehicle has been garagedor shade in window, was stationary & unoccupied when the dash cracked.

Cracking of dash

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard fractured above the front passenger air bag housing. The contact was concerned that there was a danger in the event that the air bags were to deploy. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.

This vehicle has 55,680 miles and the upper left corner next to the passenger side air bag is cracked.because of this dash crack, the air bag cover is lifted.chevy won't do anything about it because it's out of warranty.well, this is a major safety issue not to mention there have been thousands of complaint of 2007-2013 chevy dashed cracking.

My door handle fell off on driver side twice and my other three have been replaced as well. Very cheaply made. Very disappointed i did not get what i paid for that's for sure. This has been the worst vehicle i have ever owned and the most expensive at 48,000!

Speedometer and gear select did not operate today. My wife took the vehicle to the dealership and they wanted $125 to diagnose the problem. I told her to just some home since they gave us attitude and no assistance. I researched the issue online and found this to be a common issue with the tahoe. The solution was to remove the dic fuse under the hood, start the vehicle, turn vehicle off and then reinstall the fuse. Well this worked and is a known issue by chevrolet who won't issue a recall for a faulty dash cluster.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall with several unknown warning lights flashing on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that other electrical features such as the exterior lighting and the power locks would activate on and off independently during the failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that since there were no active warning lights displayed on the instrument panel, a diagnostic test could not be performed. The failure persisted and the contact discovered nhtsa campaign number: 14v614000 (electrical system) which she linked to the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed that the vin was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

While driving around 60 mph the car does a massive shake. Check engine light comes on, stabilization turns off, traction controls turns off and engine power is reduced first to 10mph and could not get more than 30mph. I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler due to my sudden stop. The suv is now in engine power reduced mode.

I was driving down the street, with my kids in the car, when all of a sudden the door locks went up and down multiple times, the radio screen turned off, and then the whole car just stopped in the middle of the street.i couldn't turn it back on and had to call tow truck.luckily i was not on the freeway and there were not many cars coming where my car had stopped.

3 out of 4 door actuators have quit working, all within a two week period.

My wife and i bought a vehicle from cardenas superstore in pharr, tx.we've been to them 4 times, in which they've sent our tahoe to the local gm/chevrolet dealer in our area.generally, when the weather is warm, stabilitrak and traction control will disable and we will see a series of warning lights.the abs warning light will go off, the air conditioner temperature will rise to a warm temp, the locks will start unlocking and locking randomly, hard transmission jerks between first and second gear, and little power when trying to increase speed.the first time we went, they said they couldn't find a problem.the second time we went, they clean out all the fuel modules, the third time they couldn't find anything wrong.and finally, on the fourth try, the dealer couldn't find any issues so they put di-electric grease on some of the wiring.two days later it started acting up again.a reason they may have trouble finding any issues is that after the vehicle is off for some time, it will start up and run without any issue. I've managed to get it over to the local autozone while all the panel was going off, and power loss, and they mentioned a few possible issues.the vehicles voltage regulator may be bad, as well as loss of communication from the ecm and many sensors(fuel pump, transmission, etc...).we are lucky that we bought an extended warranty on the vehicle or this could have become very costly for us.but none the less, safety is of a concern when driving the tahoe.any guidance will be greatly appreciated.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle does not hold charge to battery. Will not start.

Over a period of 2 weeks, about 4 times, while driving in traffic including freeway. A sudden lost of all power, dash goes blank while door locks lock and unlock, in a blinking sequence. This happens in a time period up to 10 seconds, then the car continues driving with no problems or indicator warning lights. Took to dealer they test drove and put on computer, and nothing happened. Left it there 2 weeks no results.in blogs there are suggestions that when this happens to others, that it is possible that computer resets itself and wipes memory clean, because of power loss. They to take to mechanic nothing shows up.this is similar symptoms reported on recall #14515, but my car is 1 year older. It involves the chassis computer. My question here is if the computer is different from my make and model. This is a serious problem 2 of the 4 times this happened i was pulling on to freeway or changing lanes losing power. My daughter drives this car with her 2 twins in back seat.i have now exhausted all i can for a remedy with gm, the dealer who can not detect any problem. Started a case file with gm # [xxx]. No remedy or resolution.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving car started sputtering, check engine light came on, tahoe stopped running and stalled out. Took to local shop to check the check engine code - fuel pump flow control module

Traction control and stability trak lights come on while driving, common problem with alot chevrolet trucks suv and cars. I had 2005 tahoe previously and the same problem was occurring.

First was the infotainment center that went out after the first week of owning and they wanted me to pay half for a new one ($800). Contacted gm and they paid me back. Next was the black coloring on all the button rubbing off. Was told to buy a sticker kit. Then was the tack jumping on it's own. Then was the entire dash cracking from the windshield all the way up to the front. Was told it's cosmetic. I asked what happens when the airbag goes off and i have plastic pieces fly at us. Finally was the 6l80 transmission that went out. Tons of complaints and gm has known about this for years. I now have to pay out of pocket another $3,500. This thing is a lemon and i can get any help and gm won't issue recalls. It's disgusting to see these billion dollar companies getting bailed out and the consumers are the ones that suffer for them using cheap parts.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle hesitated and lost power as if it would stall without warning. The air bag light illuminated and the vehicle did not respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the radio powered on and off. The doors locked and unlocked on their own. The contact pulled the vehicle over, waited a few minutes, and proceeded to drive. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

I was driving up a grade during a snow storm and when i tried to select 4wd i had to take my eyes off the road to find the 4wd control knob, which is hidden behind the steering wheel. I consider this a serious problem because i nearly wrecked while trying to locate the 4wd control knob.i blame this on faulty engineering by gm!

Traction control and stability trak lights come on while driving, common problem with alot chevrolet trucks suv and cars. I had 2005 tahoe previously and the same problem was occurring.

My 2013 chevrolet ltz tahoe began experiencing intermittent warnings that the abs and traction control systems were off at around 60k miles. By the time the vehicle tit 65k the failures became regular and are now lit constantly.these are safety features that safeguard the operator and passengers during hard/emergency braking or during weather with snow, ice and rain. These key safety systems now are non functioning and the vehicle is rather unsafe without them. This is a $70+ k vehicle and it has key safety features failing very early into its life. It is unbelivable that chevrolet is not held to account by federal regulators for suchsignificant safety failures. How many tahoes are in serious accidents each year due to loss of abs braking and traction control loss?

While driving around 60 mph the car does a massive shake. Check engine light comes on, stabilization turns off, traction controls turns off and engine power is reduced first to 10mph and could not get more than 30mph. July 16th, 2019 my 2013 chevrolet tahoe ltz was involved in an accident of total loss. Travel speeds were 30 mph. In attempts to stop due to vehicles traveling in front of mine had come to abrupt stops my brakes failed to provide adequate stopping while straight line steering. Thus i was forced to steer left to avoid collision. My brakes were quickly applied, moderate brake pedal travel, brakes were slow to respond with minimal braking. There was collision with the vehicle in front of me, clipping their driver side rear bumper to my passenger side front corner fender pealing it back like a can opener. This happened on a state hwy. The stabilitrac indicator and service brakes had appeared on and off in the vehicles dic intermittently over the past month. No codes present. The vehicle had new brakes (rotors, pads and brake fluid), 43 days prior. It had 138,627 miles on the vehicle. 1) we are lucky there were no injuries resulting from this accident. 2) for a vehicle that was purchased for $61k and paid off, 6 years later losses 2/3 of its purchased value.3) have now had to purchase a new vehicle and back to being $20k in the hole.i believe that this problem is a direct result from the current recall gm just announced that covers 2014-2018 chevrolet suburban and tahoe models. Gm states as the vehicle ages, the pump in the power-assist brakes can put out less vacuum than needed, increasing stopping distance and rick of a crash.nhtsa campaign number: 19v645

Approaching any right hand turns coming down in speed on a highway exitthe stability and traction control lights appear and switch to off. Felt a jerking feeling when i was starting to accelerate almost as if the engine was stalling immediately following the lights coming on.. This is the first time i felt a jerking but the lights have now come on a few times usually when exiting a highway and go off once the car is shut off and comes back on.

While driving vehicle continues to drop into reduced power mode causing a jarring motion as it drops a significant amount of speed, almost causing multiple accidents. The check engine light comes on, traction control turns off, stabillitrack turns off, and engine goes into limp mode and starts shaking and jarring. The same 2 codes continue to come up in diagnosis. P2135 and p2176. I have taken the vehicle to three mechanics 1 of them being chevy its self. With no solution found.i have had the acceleration pedal replaced, the wiring replaced, the ignition switch and relay replaced had the throttle body connector replaced, the throttle body and gasket replaced 3 times. I have done everything recommended by all shops including chevy. Please help as the truck has been in the shop more then it has been on the road and i have almost been in multiple accidents as the truck is difficult to control when the issue happens.

My traction and stabilitrak system will have random alerts that will go on and off for no reason. My dash has also cracked by front passenger airbag and my front driver's side and now makes cracking noises at times and nowrattles when driving.

2013 chevrolet tahoe police package (65 total) consumer writes in regards to engines hesitate on acceleration, idle speed fluctuates and the engine would stall.general motors acknowledged the concern and stated they were working on a resolution. General motors released a service bulletin which consisted of a new engine calibration.eleven of the vehicles were re-calibrated. However, the new calibration did not correct the concern. General motors has sent multiple engineers to road test the vehicle, taken numerous recordings, fuel samples, but to no avail.

2013 chevrolet tahoe. Representative from the city writes in regards to problems with police fleet. *tgwthe consumer stated after the new engine calibrations were installed on seven vehicles, less than 24 hours later, the problem continued, along with additional issues and problems that were never experienced before. Specifically, the vehicles lunged forward aggressively after coming to a stop. Gm eventually removed the calibrations. The issue with the vehicles stalling, lack of power, idle surging and hesitation upon acceleration, continued.

After 50000 miles on vehicle i begin to hear engine noise coming from the passenger side of engine. I came to the conclusion that it was the valve lifters. This happen after a trip while on a highway. I took the vehicle where i bought it to have it repair but was deny repair. I took the vehicle to another chevrolet dealership to have it repair with warranty, but was also deny repair.

While driving car started sputtering, check engine light came on, tahoe stopped running and stalled out. Took to local shop to check the check engine code - fuel pump flow control module

When traveling at highway speeds the car totally shut down. Couldn't get off of highway, creating a very dangerous situation. Had car towed to dealer only to find out that the entire fuel sending unit, fuel level sensor, and harness had failed at 37000 miles and needed to be replaced.

'service side blind zone alert warning displays on control center. I'm having this issue now it's causing other things to go back as if i have an electrical problem all kind of warning lights are going on and then off

I received recall and i call my gm dealer and they have not yet called me as of today to get this recall done.they told me that the parts are not in and it has been already 3 months since then.

Vehicle placed in park with engine running, approximately 5 to10 minutes passed vehicle began to roll forward hitting side of building causing damage to front driver side bumper.

The dashboard has cracked in 2 different location most importantly around the frame of the passengers side airbag. Online over 15,000 complaints filed, no help from gmc. The transmission goes outwhile driving on the interstate had it replaced at $2900.00, and the problem still exist.

Transmission drops out of gear when starting up and transmission is cold. This is especially frequent when going up a grade no matter how slight. Sometimes the problem is so severe that it chirps the tires. Basically the vehicle stops until the transmission re-engages. The problem has been occurring for as long as i have owned the vehicle. I feel this hesitation is dangerous and causes an issue with durability. The dealership indicates that this issue is normal operation. However, my searches on the internet show that my complaint is not isolated. Please investigate this potentially dangerous problem.

Transmission broke it front pump will not moveit has 93079 miles.

Traction control and stability trak lights come on while driving, common problem with alot chevrolet trucks suv and cars. I had 2005 tahoe previously and the same problem was occurring.

At freeway speeds the dic message to service brakes soon appears. While this occurred perhaps 2 or 3 times during a 30 mile drive originally, now it only appears perhaps once every 300 miles. Can be cleared by reset button in control panel. Dealer unable to trace fault even after shown message on dash.front doors do not drain water properly - sure to lead to premature rust-out of lower panels.

1- every time i apply my brakes, they vibrate, speed doesn't matter, i have been complaining to my husband about this for about 1 year.2- sometimes when i apply my brakes then release them a little and reapply the 2nd time it feels like i am pressing against a brick wall and can't push the brakes.i notice this when i am going super slow, parking lot, stop and go traffic, etc.

During pursuit training a 2013 tahoe suffered a catastrophic failure of the wheel suspension assembly.this is the third identical incident in the past month.the other two vehicles were 2014 police pursuit tahoes.in all instances the front wheel assembly failed during a turn.the race or inner dust cover for the wheel bearing assembly separated.this resulted in the bearings coming loose, and the wheel subsequently folding under.in two instances the vehicle was in danger of a rollover situation.this occurred during emergency vehicle training at a regional academy and the vehicles belonged to two different police agencies.the two prior incidents involved vehicles with under 5000 miles.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the power steering failed without warning. The vehicle was increasingly difficult to control. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and current mileage was 46,159.

Experienced a clunking or banging noise when going over bumps. It turns out that the right front mounting bracket for the sway bar broke off the frame of the vehicle.

The purpose for this communication is to let you know i've been having issues with the dashboard on my car that mechanics believe will effect the airbag. At this point i'm at a bit of a loss for words and understanding with this particular situation.the dashboard has multiple cracks throughout.the car has 87,000 miles and has been garaged for its entire ownership and well maintained.the biggest issue surrounding the cracks in the dashboard is that they've formed around the front passenger airbag, which multiple dealerships have told me is a safety hazard.that being said, the dealerships and the associate i spoke to at chevrolet customer assistance team has said they've seen this issue multiple times and they're surprised there hasn't been a recall issued.i honestly wouldn't care about the cracks if they weren't surrounding the airbag. Pictures of my car included.vin number [xxx] after researching through multiple dealerships and online there seems to be a large number of customers with the same exact problem and there are current lawsuits pending against gm, please follow the link:http://www.abcactionnews.com/money/consumer/taking-action-for-you/another-big-auto-maker-gets-hit-with-a-suit-over-cracking-dash-boardshttps://www.change.org/p/recall-2007-2013-vehicles-due-to-the-safety-of-cracked-dashesif this isn't enough concern on your end to correct the issue and issue a recall i'm not sure what is.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

We bought a 2013 chevy tahoe in jan 2016 with just under 30,000 miles with certified warranty.my dash started cracking at the driver side and at the passenger front dash airbag, we took it back to franklin chevrolet in statesboro, ga. Well under48,000 miles to let them know what is going on, the service manager [xxx] told my husband that the dash was not covered under the warranty and did not ask to look at it to see if it was something that needed to be addressed.i have seen several cases on these issue, i'd like to have the problem taken care of before it cracks more and the airbag start having issues since it's cracking at the dash where the airbag is at, it's making noises every time i drive down the road and pretty sure it's only going to get worse over time.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Cracks have developed at the center and passenger side areas of the dashboard and appear to be growing as the dash cools and warms. The vehicle was stationary for several days prior to noticing the cracks. The passenger side crack, like many others have reported, is at the right rear corner of the airbag containment area on the dash. This crack is especially concerning as it looks to be under pressure and bulging. My biggest concern at this point is the airbag going off prematurely while we are driving.

Crack in dashboard without cause. Flawed workmanship and/or materials.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. In inclement weather, water entered from the rear doors and leaked into the rear door paneling. As the failure progressed, the contact heard an abnormal noise of water moving around within the rear door paneling. Multiple dealers were notified. The dealer indicated that the failure was a known issue, but the manufacturer had not issued a recall to provide a solution. The contact was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was waiting for a solution. The vin and failure mileage were not available.

Two cracks have appeared on my dash, one on the driver's side and a small one on the passenger side. The car has 34,000 miles, is garaged and only driven on paved roads. When parked in a lot, a window viser is always used. I noticed the larger crack about two months ago. It gets bigger every day.

Dashboard cracked very small area but now is cracking everywhere.

Dashboard is cracking, which has been recognized as a known problem.it caused integrity issues with cracked plastic in event air bags deploy.

Cracked dash by passenger air bag not long after i purchased the vehicle i woke up got into my tahoe and saw a crack.

Thank you.

Dash cracked front passenger side, aboveand into left side of airbag compartment. Vehicle has been garagedor shade in window, was stationary & unoccupied when the dash cracked.

The passengers side front door handle literally fell off when opening the door.was out of warranty due to mileage.had to pay $250 to replace.the passenger door is not used daily, and was not being pulled hard, was being opened by a 50+ year old with average torque for that age.

Dashboard has several cracks. Three around the airbag box which are extremely concerning! i try to always have my tahoe in cool places to prevent extreme temperatures and further damage but still notice the cracks growing. I understand there have been many gm owners having to deal with similar problems.there must obviously be a defect in the material or the assembly of this part. Being both a safety concern and a customer satisfaction issue, i am really looking forward to options for resolving this matter.

The dashboard on my 2013 chevy tahoe (53,000 miles) has cracked near the passenger airbag.

My dashboard has cracked in two separate places.the first crack in the dashboard is at the passenger airbag.the second crack is large in size and runs from the back of the dashboard all the way up to the dash that covers my instrument panel.

The dash on this vehicle has sever cracks in 2 different places. The vehicle has never been wrecked and has been very well maintained. This is a known problem with chevrolet tahoes. It is foreseeable that injuries would be significantly increased in the case of a front-end collision should the dash come completely apart and leave sharp edges exposed.

Cracked dashboard.this started as a small problem a year ago when i took it to the dealer and was told it was not covered under warranty and i would have to pay $1600 to get it replaced.the four cracks continue to get bigger and neither the dealership nor manufacturer will recognize it for anything more than cosmetic damage i need to fix even though i did nothing to cause this damage.i can hear the crack continue to get bigger both when it's parked in the driveway and driving down the road in all conditions.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact observed a fracture in the dashboard leading to the steering wheel. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000.

As with many other complaints there is a crack in the dash. I feel this is unsafe if there is ever an accident that occurs and the air bag will need to deploy. I just purchased this car 30 days ago and now have a crack in the dash. By readingup on this, there is so many complaints. I have had in the past a 2004 tahoe with no,complaints.i feel that gm should get off there pocket books and recall this. This tahoe only has 48,000 miles. Practically brand new. Come on gm do the right thing. If an accident occurs and i loose an eye or suffer facial damage due to flying debris from a cracked dash that will be on you. I also have a camry. They recalled there dash just because its sticky. Step up made in the usa. Please. After paying $29000. For a car this should be fixed. This car was sitting still when this happened.

The dash has cracked from one side to another.

The dashboard is cracking right above the steering wheel. I do not know it the crack starting while in motion or stationary.i know it happened in may 2018.it is cracking more everyday. This is my dream car and i think it's a shame to pay this kind ot money for such a expensive car and it starts falling apart.my husband and i are nothing but chevy buyers we have owned a number of blazers and tahoe and have never had this problem .my husband's tahoe is a 2004 . Looksgreat.also on the 2013 tahoe the door pull is broke and the dealer said i had to buy the hold door panel thst would be over $500.i only need the the pull handle not the entire door panel.this is nonsense. Is chevrolet getting cheap on their quallty . This willmake be look into other vehicles (ford, toyota, jeep , etc.## vin passed ## chevy tahoe 2013##

Cracked dash - dash has separated/cracked at airbag release location as well as at the instrument cluster.unknown if this will affect airbag deployments or electrical issues in speedo cluster.was told to report this by dealer.

This is a series of crack on the front dashboard. Started from the cowling over instrument panels and has spread to a section by the passenger airbag. There have been a number of gm vehicles with this same dashboard cracking but gm does nothing about it. I'm only a little over 50k miles.

I started noticing a small crack in the dashboard and now i have larger gashes and one very concerning next to airbag in front of passenger side.

Cracking of the dashboard in multiple areas. Driver side, center speaker and in from of passenger airbag.

I was driving at about 45 mph and heard a rattle coming from my dashboard. The vent near the windshield was visibly vibrating. I then noticed a crack extending from the corner of the airbag cover to the vent. The dealer said that this happens on some models/year. This is my third tahoe in over 20 years and it hasn't happened before. The vibration is going to make the crack worse and the dashboard will start to break apart. I believe that the airbag compartment is also at risk.

Cracking in the dashboard that has carried into the airbag section of the dash that prevented deployment in an accident on both passenger and driver sides of dash

Dashboard has cracked above the passenger airbag and above the instrument cluster on the driver's side.it is unknown if the vehicle was parked or moving at the moment the cracks occurred.nothing has ever been placed on the dashboard that could cause the cracks.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked from the passenger side to the diver side windshield area. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the cracked areas could be covered. The dashboard was not replaced. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 35,000.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked along the driver's side of the vehicle. The contact was concerned that the air bags may not deploy properly in the event of a crash, which could lead to serious injury or death. The vehicle was taken to asheville chevrolet (205 smokey park highway, asheville, nc 28806, (828) 348-7326) where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The doors do not drain water effectively, this will cause an electrical shortage and failure for the windows to work and the doors to rust!!

The entire frame and all supporting bolts of the vehicle is rusting and rotting.

The dashboard has a crack from the windshield and is spreading toward the steering column(about 8-10 inch crack).there is also a small crack near the airbag on the passenger side. We first noticed the crack in august/2017.we were told our extended warranty would not cover the bill.when we first noticed the crack was about 4 inches.it has now grown close to 8-10 inches.

The dashboard cracked from the corner of the airbag in front of the passenger side seat and is sinking below the airbag.the car was stationary.

Dashboard cracking can result in structural integrity issues that can result in the creation of projectiles in the instance of a collision, airbags being unable to properly deploy, etc. Almost all gm vehicles in this model year range have this issue; is of widespread concern.i just purchased this car and am worried that if i were ever to be in an accident, my safety would be jeopardized.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked from the top driver's side to the front passenger side air bag area. The crack was rapidly expanding and the contact was concerned that the front passenger air bag could deploy. The vehicle was taken to nelson hall chevrolet (1811 south frontage road, meridian, ms 39301, (601) 621-4324) where they stated that they were aware of the defective dashboard and determined that the driver's door panel was fractured. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Split dash at corner of passenger air bag

Auto has a crack in dashboard in front of steering wheel

Dash has severely cracked in two places.

This 2013 chevrolet tahoe was purchased in august 2013. The chrome door handle on the passenger front door just came off in my hand and had to be replaced in august 2015. In february 2016 the drivers side front door handle broke off and also had to be replaced. The vehicle was parked and i was attempting to open an unlocked door from the exterior. I was told the chrome door handles have had issues with being defective. Are there any recalls, what can i do regarding reoccurring expenses for repairs ?

I'm seeing large structurally unsound cracks in the top of the dashboard, but on top of the main speedometer etc dome and over by the passenger side airbag area.the ones over on the driver side are large enough to actually flop around.it does appear to be a safety hazard especially in case of accident when jagged pieces would be about.vehicle was purchased in this condition (noticed after purchase when on rougher roads without radio and the various pieces started making quite a racket.)

The exterior molding have separated, or started to pull away from the doors.out of warranty and paid almost $300 to repair one (drivers door) molding, and others are starting to pull away on other doors.

Dashboard is cracking.only 3 years old, 70000 miles when noticed.never had a vehicle do this before.the crack today is on the dash at the top right corner of the passenger airbag

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard had premature extensive cracks that could affect the structural integrity of the air bag components. The cracks extended on both sides, but primarily near the front passenger side. The dealer (pinkerton chevrolet, 925 n electric rd, salem, va 24153, (800) 813-5960) inspected the vehicle and diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and refused to assist with the dealer's repair to replace the part. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

The dash has cracked on the passenger side. The crack starts on the left side of passenger air bag and continues upward. Started small and seemed to get larger overnight. Vehicle is garage kept. No reason for this. Scares me if airbag deploys will plastic explode into someone. From what i have read , this seems to be quite a problem with these dashes.

The dash cracked.

My 2013 chevy tahoe ltz front tires are cupping on the outter edges and appear worn out. I took it to two different shops and had the vehicle aligned, balanced, and tires rotated. They were unable to diagnose the problem but highly recommended that the struts be replaced even if they are not leaking. I provided the dealership where i purchased the vehicle with original receipts to prove that i had took the truck in to two other shops previously. I also purchased a service warranty plan when i purchased the vehicle and although this repair is included, they refuse to fix the problem.

Dashboard on the driver side is cracking and extending upwards towards the driver.consistently rattles when vehicle is in motion.crack is also visible on the passenger side leading towards the airbag. Both cracks were noticed when vehicle was in motion.

Dash board is cracked at passenger side air bag. Vehicle was parked when crack was found

My dashboard is cracked on both the driver and passenger side. While i was driving my passenger commented on it and asked what happened. I hadn't noticed it before since i couldn't see over the part of the dashboard that is higher than the backside closer to the windshield.

Dash cracked from corner of airbag to top of dash. Vehicle stays in garage other than when driven to work. Was stationary when crack was seen.

The dashboard of the vehicle has severe cracks around the passenger side airbag as well as the driver side steering wheel. The vehicle has been well maintained and never been in a wreck. I am very concerned that the plastic may become projectiles in the event of an accident. The dealership refuses to acknowledge fault or cover repairs.

Dashboard- crumbling apart. Two cracks, one on the passenger side and a 9 inch crack on the drivers side. This car has been very well taken care of. Garage parked with 26,000 miles. Very cheap material used in a $65,000 dollar car. This has never happened to me before in any other car i have owned.

The entire frame and all supporting bolts of the vehicle is rusting and rotting.

Crack in dashboard that leads to the airbag and main controls.

The top of the dashboard is cracking in multiple locations. The cracks are getting longer. This is happening over time. Nothing has been done to provoke this.

My dash has two cracks: one near the left corner of the passenger air bag and one on the right mid point of the curve over the control section of the dash. I have see where this is a design problem and many people have the same cracks. I noticed the first crack may 5, 2018 and the second crack may 25, 2018. I noticed them when my vehicle was parked.i am very concerned about how unsafe this is with the passenger airbag and possible flying debris in the event of an accident. My car is still under warranty.

The inside door panel on the drivers side broke where handle is. Very very disgusted at all the problems i have had with my vehicle while it was new

The dash has cracked 2 times. We had one section repaired but the next section has cracked. In an accident pieced of this could crack worse and fly around the cabin creating a hazard for passengers as well as the airbags.

On monday 05/25/15 my husband noticed a small crack in the dash on the drivers side. I have watched in the past couple days it grow in size and have taken pictures to document it too. I am upset as this is a new car i purchased used from a gm dealer. I have read that another crack is soon to be expected on the passenger side by airbag and causing it to possible deploy or deemed unusable. I have 2 small children and no safety is a concern. This issue needs to be resolved quickly.

All three are on the plastic dash where seam near front window plastic and dash plastic meet and make a seam. The weather has been 13 degrees and 14 degrees the past two mornings december 19th and 20th 2016. I do not think this degrees should make the plastic dash crack. Multiple cracks in dash panel around passenger side airbag that could potentially become dangerous shrapnel in the event of deployment.

Dashboard cracking in two areas, one stemming from passenger side air bag area and the other coming up toward the steering wheel on the drivers side.this started just past the 3 year mark, so is out of warranty. My concern is whether it could impact the effectiveness of the airbag, and/or the structural integrity during any potential impact or crash.

After researching this problem, i found that this issue is more than just an isolated issue, as people are having the same issue everywhere. This is a lemon and should be a recall.

Dash board is cracked over the instrument cluster.i am concerned the airbag will shred pieces of the dashboard into my truck cabin causing serious injury or death.the plastic used for this dash is very flimsy, thin, and cheap, yet the cost to replace and repair is over 1,000! ridiculous. At almost 50,000 dollars new, chevrolet should take care of their customers investment, and nhtsa should ensure our safety with this defective product. My 2013 chevy tahoe has only 50,000 miles and is garage kept. I use a reflector in the windshield daily when at work.

Dash board cracking, caused small fiber to go into my eye while i was driving with window open

I was driving home on the highway when i heard a loud pop.i thought a rock had hit my windshield.

The dashboard has cracked for no reason.

Spent nearly $600 for a dashboard assembly that should have never required replacing.

The dashboard of my 2013 chevrolet tahoe cracked on the passenger side and on the steering column.

We contacted the recommended dealership and they refused to do the repair unless we as the owners accepted responsibility for the broken dash. This issue is also a know defect and gm is refusing to complete the repair. Due to gm defective parts the air safety bag cannot be replaced and i will be required to pay gm and additional $1500 to $2000 dollars to make the car safe to continue to drive.this type of safety defect should be repaired by gm including any item that is damaged due to the repair or defect that keeps the car from being repaired as this becomes nothing more than a way for gm to escape their responsibility for completing this safety defect if the ntsb allows this then the government then becomes responsible for the loss of life and is just as big a culprit as general motors..

The dashboard cover is cracked in several places.the vehicle is well maintained, garaged and has not been used off paved roads.the cracks are a safety hazard in the event of even small collisions since they create sharp corners and pointed ends.in the event of a major collision, pieces would likely become hazardous flying objects propelled by the airbags.

While driving the speedometer is showing 0 on both the digital display and analog needle display.also it is showing that the vehicle is in park.only by pulling over and starting the car up again (~5 minutes), the problem goes away.

Specifically, the vehicles lunged forward aggressively after coming to a stop. Gm eventually removed the calibrations. Please help as the truck has been in the shop more then it has been on the road and i have almost been in multiple accidents as the truck is difficult to control when the issue happens.

Rear defrost wire constantly separates from the glass. We have been to various dealerships more than a dozen times and the same problem persists. Many of these repairs have included a brand new back window and wiring and the problem continues to occur. Our truck has been in and out of the dealer for days at a time only to break again within days/weeks of repair. This creates a very unsafe driving experience, especially in the winter months (now) when we cannot see out of the back window. This case is fully registered with the dealership and with gm directly, but no permanent resolution has been identified. The wire is currently detached, it fell off again within 24 hours of the last repair.this has happened both while the vehicle is stationary and while it is moving.

Rear window defroster electrical connector on driver's side broke while opening glass hatch. Soldered joint broke away from glass. Seems as if the electrical wire is too short or under too much tension. Back glass will no longer defrost limiting visibility. Vehicle was stationary when problem occurred.

Spare tire wheel diameter is smaller than the diameter of the four wheels on the vehicle. The four main wheels have 18" wheels. The spare tire wheel is a 17" diameter.if the spare tire is used on the rear drive wheels, the smaller spare wheel would turn at a faster rpm than the regular tire.is this permitted? seems dangerous to me.
