Dash continues to crack. Worried about integrity of dash in the event of accident due to placement of the passenger airbag. Gm just recalled passenger airbag due to 'shrapnel' which could also be part of the dash exploding. Furthermore, only option is to add a 'glue on' cover to build quality to oem, but has possibility to cover passenger air bag or make recall of airbag not possible (or other repairs possible).gm should offer dash replacement as a recall along with passenger airbag.

Takata recall chevy saying not available yet!

The dash has cracked in several places. What is alarming is there are cracks around the passenger airbag and if it ever deploys i'm afraid there will be exploding pieces of the dash going everywhere. The passenger seat belt gets tight and will not release until fully retracted.

Within last 90 days dash has developed cracks around passenger side airbag compartment, which runs all the way to the bolt attachment point. Also cracked above driver instrument cluster. When turning the steering wheel (in motion or not) has a slight rubbing sound, and i am told by repair shop that it is the wound wire ignition line to the driver side airbag.i am concerned that both deficiencies in design and manufacturing, could prevent air bag deployment, or case them to go off without a front end impact to the sensors. This is a common problem with this model vehicle for several model years, and gm accepts no responsibility for defective design and manufacture, unlike ford & toyota.this is not a mileage issue, it is a plastic interior part, and unrelated to mileage. This vehicle is garaged and not parked in sun for long periods.

While driving my vehicle i started to hear this cracking sound in which i noticed that the crack was coming across my dashboard. It started on the passenger front side from the airbag and came all the way across to the driver side and up towards steering wheel. Now it just flaps while driving as it is open and exposed and i am very concerned in regards to airbag safety at this point. My tahoe is in excellent condition might i add. Ironically my sister has the exact same car as me and she has the exact same crack in her dashboard as well starting and ending in the same place.

The dash is cracking in 2 places.one at the airbag which is a concern if it causes a malfunction with the airbag and the other is over the instrument panel where i am sure when dust and dirt gets down in it, there will be more damage caused

Takatarecallairbag inflator is taking too long. Gm sent an initial letter last year; july 2016. I am driving around in florida; hot and humid. Stress is building as new tahoes are rolling off assembly lines, but no parts can be spared to fix an "over time" serious injury. I have 3 reference numbers; but no parts. Can u help?

Tamara recall needs immediate attention safety concern

My airbag is unsafe...and gm is not doing anything about it. I do not want my family driving around in a car that has unsafe parts. I don't understand how this problem is allowed to go unsolved, especially when gm and takata both know about it.

Takata recall has a recall on my vehicle airbags. When i hit a pothole on city street airbag came out, brakes locked up and stabilization and traction controlservice lights came on. Had to call for a tow truck..

Takata recall letter july 2016; no parts yet?

Takata recalli have received numerous recall notices from tk holdings inc. Regarding recall on takata airbags on my 2009 chevrolet tahoe. Every time i receive the notice i contact autonation, 5757 lake worth road, green acres, fl 33463, and i get this same response--we do not have replacement parts for the airbag recall.why would any authorized dealership not have the recall replacement parts?i have heard about malfunction of the takata airbags.i do not understand why the dealer that i bought my tahoe from would not have the parts for the recall. What is my recourse?

Takata recall-----nothing being done for years-----why ???

"takata recall"i can not find a dealer with parts for this recall

My dash is cracking and getting worse every day. I've seen hundreds of pictures of similar gm vehicles that have the same issue. I've been dealing with my insurance on this issue for over a year and have concluded that this is a defective product. My one of my cracks has reached the passenger airbag and may become a huge liability for the manufacturer. What are my options on moving forward?

I still have not been able to get my airbag replace. They say they do not have an airbag yet.i have been trying since july 2016.plus my dash cracked near the airbag.

Vehicle dash has started cracking around the air bag and instrument cluster.this can and will affect the deployment of the airbag and could send flying debris into the vehicle or cut the air base upon deployment.some estimates are that 80% of the 2009 model year have cracked.dealership states this is a common issue and have repaired so many they have it done to half a day.cost to repair is 1200 dollars.gm was contacted and state they cannot help us due to the fact we are second owners.vehicle has been well maintained and has not be off road nor has it had any chemicals placed on the dash.cracks are in the same place as everyone else's.simple google search shows the massive amount of people dealing with this issue.in my wife's case, her vehicle, in my opinion, is not safe to drive.after calling gm and the dealership repeatedly, they have offered no help except to charge me full price for the repair.absolutely unacceptable to sell these vehicles knowing the dash won't last and then take no action to correct an obvious safety issue.i would be curious to see one of these crash tested with a big piece of broken plastic in the flight path of an airbag.

Takata recallno remedy since may 2016

Dashboard is cracking in multiple places, pieces falling off inside dash and rattling.2 places on dash where passenger airbag deploys.this has happened over the past 3 years and keeps getting worse.afraid of airbag deployment on passenger side with the cracks on the deployment area and possibly having shards of hard dash pieces flying and hitting/hurting someone else or myself.

Crack in dashboard near passenger airbag.

Dash board above steering wheel well to wind shield and passenger side air bag panel is cracking and continues to grow in both directions. Vehicle was purchased this way and others of this year have the same issues.

Cracked & broken dashboard vehicle was stationary.

The dash around the airbag is cracked. Tahoe had 45k on it when it started to crack.

I received a recall notice in may 2016 telling me my airbags were defective and being recalled, however there is no remedy available.there is still no remedy available over a year later.i am being told my vehicle is still safe to drive.i know that, it is just not safe in an accident - if i know when i will get in an accident i would have won a lottery by now.this is not acceptable.the airbags need to be replaced immediately!!

Front dashboard has two cracks. This is not due to sun damage or negligence. This is a product failure.

Takaka airbag and crack dash above passenger air bag unknown

Vehicle dash cracked on the passenger side. A straight crack in the dash going from the air vent/defroster to the passenger air bag. A complete crack in the dash exists 2-4 inches long.

No dealership has parts so i am unable to get fixed? how can i make car safe? when will parts come in?

Dash has cracked in multiple places and now chunks are falling off.

Why is there no remedy for my vehicle and all other vehicles affected almost 3 years later? i'm complaining about the length of time it is taking. I spoke to a dealership who said parts aren't available yet and they gave me the number to gm/chevrolet. When i contacted gm/chevrolet they told me, the decision from the nhtsa hasn't been made, they have the parts available to ship out to dealerships, but are not able to until the decision is given on what vehicles are affected. The representative from gm/chevrolet gave me the phone number to the nhtsa to contact them and see if they had any other information on how long it would take to resolve this recall. I spoke with beau from nhtsa on 5/25/2018 at 1:23pm pst, and he told me that the petition had been declined in 2017, and that he didn't know why gm/chevrolet hasn't updated their information. He told me the nhtsa website it updated everyday and i could check the status there. When i checked the status, this is what came up. Same thing gm/chevrolet told me, there is still a pending resolution. When is this going to be taken care of? recall date: may 27, 2016manufacturer recall number: 2049151nhtsa recall number: 16v381recall status: recall incomplete, remedy not yet availabledocket no. Nhtsa-2016-0124.

Dash is cracking in several places, including around passenger air bag and top of instrument panel in front of driver, causing possible unsafe conditions in a collision.cracks occured under normal driving conditions and dash was not subjected to any physical abuse.

I currently have a dangerous airbag in my vehicle with no recourse to resolve it and no time frame for when this will occur.i have contacted two dealers and neither seem to know what i can do other than go to the website.

My 2009 chevrolet tahoe has developed numerous cracks in the dashboard including around the passenger airbag. My biggest concern is that is i get into an accident, are pieces of the dash going to be shot at/into passenger and/or driver/ i have tried to get gm/chevrolet to replace and their option was for me to spend $800 to replace their dashboard that has material defects. That does not seem acceptable and i am sure is not practical considering i have read there are thousands of people with the same issue. Can the nhtsa help?

The dash board is cracked in three different spots and one is right at the passenger air bag. The dealership will not fix cause it's not under warranty. I feel like this is a safety hazard and gm needs to fix this issue.

Dashboard has cracked near the passenger side airbag and driver side near the defrost vent- no accident. Simply sitting in the driveway of our home. The check engine light came on and when it was hooked up to the diagnostic computer system it stated it was bc of the fuel system control module which is already under recall.

Dash cracked on my 2009 chevrolet tahoe cracked around the airbags in about the year of 2013. If the airbags should deploy, the dash would most likely send shards of the dash flying. The dash cracked and split around the airbag without any anything setting on the dash. The tahoe has been located in california.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The contact stated that the driver's side dashboard had a three to four inch crack. Additionally, there was a one inch crack on the passenger side dashboard. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (musson patout buick gmc, 214 w. Hwy 90 frontage rd., new iberia, la 70560) where it was diagnosed that air bag parts were not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 131,415.

The first thing that happened is our right front door lock actuator went out and we just thought it was broken and have not had it fixed and then the service air bag warning light has been coming on for several thousand miles. Then the truck would not start and we replaced the battery but even after doing that there are times when the truck electrical system just goes dead and we can open the hood shake the wires or just wait and it starts working again.then in the last few thousand miles the " warning light" comes on and a bell starts ringing and then the drive train does not operate correctly.i was on a project and my wife told me all this and she parked the truck and started driving my truck.when i got home i took it to allen samuels chevrolet and they worked on it and said that the computer showed the air bags and stabilitrac showed something had happened and they reset it or something.i didn't get down the road 10 miles and the "service air bag warning light" came back on.they then wanted 112.50 an hour to try and find out what was wrong.i took it home and a few days later i was driving it and came to a stop and the door locks started going up and down quickly, the stabilitrac light came on, and the truck would not go over about 2 - 3 mph per hour.i pulled over to the side of the road and after a mile or two everything started working again.when we got home i parked the tahoe and turned it off and the whole electrical system went dead.we couldn't lock the doors. This has happened several times.i have called chevrolet and they have said they would pay for 1/2 of the problem but you call the dealer and they will not give you a price, they just say it may be this and it may be that.it could cost thousands of dollars.all of these electrical problems are safety issues and could cost one or both of our lives or someone else.?????

I received a recall in may 2016. I jus got off the phone with norman frede chevrolet and they told me they do not have the parts to fix my chevrolet. What i am supposed to do to get this deadly problem fixed? i live in a very humid environment and humid weather is supposed to make these air bags more dangerous,

The dealership said takata filled bankruptcy and as of right now they can not replace the air bags.. What about our safety?

The dash on the vehicle has cracked at the passenger air bag cover.also cracked above the speedometer.concern is there may be humidity ingress to the airbag, the electronics or sub assemblies increasing the risk for an airbag deployment anomaly. Another concern is plastic or metal from the dash could also impact the airbag (deflation) or present injury to the occupants (flying parts).a lesser concern is the sensors for the automated ac/heating systems in the car.believing they are calibrated with sealed intact components.the larger split at the speedometer has only recently happened which makes this a concern that there are larger more underpinning issues not fully realized.

Takata recall. I received a recall notice two years ago and my air bags have not been replaced. In the beginning when i would call i was told to wait for a take it to the dealer letter. Today i was told by gm that the air bags in my vehicle were safe and i would not receive a notice to replace. The gm statement was read to me and which in essence stated that the current air bags were safe as takata had manufactured them under the guidelines of gm and were not suspect in being defective. Is this true??

I don't understand why gm can put the replacement of takata air bags off and put my family in danger. I understand other car manufactures have already started replacing the defective air bags. Don't they know there is a danger. The statement from gm to me is it is safe to drive my car. If so why do they have a recall at all?

"takata recall" i received a recall notice for my car over two years ago for defective air bags made by takata.when i asked my dealership about it i was told at the time there was not a fix.every time i return for service i ask about the recall and i am told the same thing.two years is too long since it could affect my family.i have two kids and i am scared every time we go in my car for fear of the air bag exploding and killing my family with flying metal.two years us way too long.replace the bags and keep people safe and prevent lawsuits from happening.

I noticed a crack in my dashboard going to my air bag on the passenger side. The crack in the dashboard could possibly alter the deployment of the passenger airbag and has compromised the integrity of the dashboard as a whole. There have since developed two additional, larger cracks in the dashboard, furthering the dashboard integrity problem. I have reported this to chevy and gm and they both refuse to accept that this is an ongoing problem. Several hundred people have reported this problem (and countless, unknown people have not reported it, or don't know how to, or where to report it, or who to report it to.) both gm and chevy refuse to put anything in writing and will only discuss the issue over the phone and have told customers they will not replaced the defective dashboards for free. This is a safety issue and it is an ongoing issue with gm trucks (1500, tahoe, suburban, yukons, etc.)

The dash is cracked in 2 places near the passenger dash airbag and directly up the dash where the speedometer is located. I'm concerned this could be a safety issue in the event of an accident.

Dash has cracked on passenger airbag and driver side. Plastic has sharp edges where cracking when cleaning.

Like everyone else i have spoken to with 2007-2013 year model chevrolet vehicles my dashboard is cracked because of a design flaw.i am worried that my passenger side air bag will not work correctly because of the crack.i have contacted gm for help but they offer nothing.the crack has gotten worse over the years and is now really bad.gm is pitiful

The dash on my tahoe has broken right next to the passenger air bag.it has actually broken a piece of in the air bag.it is my understanding that this is a common problem with these vehicles as the dash is not structurally sound.my fear is that if the air bag is deployed that shards of plastic will be embedded in the passenger.this is the only defect on the dash and it appears to have happened at the weakest point.

Takata recallthis entire recall reeks of a back office deal with gm and nhtsa.in one para gm states that " if the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries." yet the following sentence states " gm considers your vehicle safe to drive".you should put pressure on gm to fix this as opposed to srringing it out for ever.d a lundy

Dashboard on the passenger side has crack and may be hazardous if air bag deploys. This happened while stationary. Other people have told me their tahoe has the same crack in the exact same place

Cracks in the dashboard of my 2009 chevrolet tahoe have been appearing over the past 7 months. Gm and chevrolet refuse to acknowledge a fleetwide problem and will only pay for partial repairs. One of the cracks is in approximation to the passenger side airbag and how the airbag deployment will affect the dashboard (and vica versa) is unknown and worrisome. Gm and chevrolet refuse to pay for a defective part replacement on their vehicles for this issue that affects hundreds, if not thousands of their vehicles.

Dash cracking severely around airbag on passenger side,, if deployed may cause additional damage from shrapnel from broken plastic pieces. This ongoing and progressive, started about two years ago

I have a dash that is cracked in multiple areas.i think there may be a future issue affecting the air bags.

Takata recallwhen is this recall going to be fixed. I don't want something to happen and the airbags fail and someone get hurt or killed because so much time is wasted fixing the issue.

The dashboard has cracked and repositioned itself. These cracks occurred over a period of 3 weeks until the dash repositioned itself.these cracks occurred in the normal course of driving and parking the vehicle. This repositioning is a direct result of the cracks.the passenger airbag appears to be affected by this condition posing a safety risk to any front seat passenger.these risks include improper deployment of airbag preventing proper passenger protection in a collision and pieces of the dash becoming sharp plastic projectiles if the airbag does deploy causing serious bodily injury and possibly death.

Vehicle was moving at normal speed and the dash cracked by the front passenger airbag

2009 chevrolet tahoe - with 5,194 milesintermittent and complete failure of all gauges on instrument panel and also intermittent cycling of door locks and horn as if the vehicle were being locked by using the remote.the failure of the gauges has occurred twice in the last 200 or so miles and the door lock cycling has happened once during the same period of time.there is no apparent pattern to the described problem.since there are no gauges when the problem occurs, the drivability of the vehicle is severely limited; the speedometer, tachometer, oil, temperature and transmission gear selection indicator are inoperative.the vehicle is scheduled to be inspected on 02/10/2010 by the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and a replacement vehicle is being provided while the vehicle is out of service.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked in four places and the engine compartment was exposed. In addition, the door lock actuators failed on all four doors and the running boards failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

Car stalls when making turns or when its at a stop light or just in traffic that its moving very slow.

Both back doors on my tahoe began to stop unlocking and locking when using the clicker. A month later they stopped locking and unlocking using the unlock/lock button inside the vehicle. At the time i had a two month old who i was having to carry through the driver's side door and crawl through to the back to put him in his car seat. I asked the chevrolet dealership about this & i was told it would cost me around $600 per door. By that time, my front passenger door had also stopped working. I do not understand how this is not a recall. What if there were a fire and i could not get to my children? or heaven forbid i get into an accident and i can't unlock the vehicle to get to my kids. I have done plenty of research on this matter and it seems as if thousands of people are having this issue. Chevrolet has always been our vehicle of choice. I will never buy another chevrolet vehicle after this. My husband was just looking at buying one of the 2014 trucks and i forbid him to do so.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. While driving 40 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated, the oil pressure gauge elevated, the tire pressure indicator illuminated continuously, and the air conditioner activated as the vehicle remote locked. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Driver door and rear door on driver side do not lock/unlock consistently with key fob nor do they lock/unlock with power lock button.i have to manually lock and unlock both doors most of the time.the previous owner said they replaced these a few years back under warranty shortly after purchasing vehicle. Obviously there is a design flaw or mechanical issue causing this to happen.numerous people have reported the same issue.i have to manually lock and unlock my doors when i leave the vehicle.passenger side doors appear to work fine all the time.the cost is close to $300 per door to correct and i believe only a 30 day warranty.so it doesn't appear to be a permanent resolution.

Doors will not lock or unlock.locks make sound that they are trying to engage but have to be manually locked or unlocked.i have small children that i am afraid that will be locked inside my vehicle and i will be unable to open doors without breaking the window.

Doors do not lock when car moves or when they are locked or unlocked with remote. Kids sitting in back seat could open door and fall out , faulty door lock actuator.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. While parked, the contact noticed that the passenger side air bag warning light was illuminated with the passenger seat occuppied. In addition, the gauges on the instrument panel would not provide an accurate reading. The failure would recur intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics but the technicians were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.

Door lock actuator failure.rear doors can not be unlocked or locked with the key fob or the manual unlock button on the driver control panel.

I have bought 4 door lock actuators and all keep failing there needs to be a recall. If there is a fire or an emergency i have kids and something may happen.

Keeps loosing power and staking while driving the brakes calipers are malfunctioning the fuel control module is being effective see there was a safety recall on this but my vehicle is listed dmfor make and model but not vin but it's effective

One evening i drove to the store and placed my truck on park for about 10 minutes without shutting the vehicle off. Once i'm back in and going in reverse i noticed that the assisted power steering wasn't working.i disconnected the battery terminals and waited but the eps never came back on. I had the vehicle toed to my nearby chevrolet dealer whom later concluded that the steering gear and some computer module needed replaced. They billed me for approximately $2900.now, here i am exactly one year later with the same problem! expired warranty and a huge bill of repair. I have the dealer receipts on file.

Recall #09v154000 should have been performed on my vehicle according to the list of vin #'s affected, but it never was and i was never notified of the recall. I purchased this vehicle the month before this recall was announced in 2009 and did not start having safety issues until after my new suv warranty had expired (how convenient). Over the years, i have spent thousands of dollars replacing all kinds of sensors, relays, batteries and various other parts trying to alleviate the unsafe electrical and loss of power issues that this faulty part continues to cause. I have taken this vehicle to my local dealership on countless occasions, complaining that the vehicle intermittently: does not start, the engine suddenly dies while driving on the highway or turning a corner (becoming unsteerable and the brakes won't work), suddenly decelerates, door locks cycle rapidly while driving, the check engine light and other warning lights/alarms come on, headlights and dash lights suddenly shut off, windows or ac stops working, and now the fuel gauge only reads 1/4 tank when i just filled it up. I took the suv to my local dealer again today, explained the intermittent electrical and loss of power issues and history again and asked why this recall had not been performed or was not scheduled to be performed at any previous time that i had brought the vehicle in for diagnostics or service on these related issues. The service manager admitted that the recall had never been performed, but denied the possibility of the fscm causing any of these issues, regardless of the recall notice stating they were. He then refused to perform the recall and said i needed to pay $380 to have another diagnostic scan performed. Never scheduling/performing the recall when the suv was serviced countless times for related safety issues as defined in the recall notice that they never mailed to me and refusing to perform the recall today is a violation of the us ntmv safety act and should have consequences!

Actuator failed on 3 out of five doors, so far.several forums have a lot of reports of failure.i would appreciate someone looking into this.today, i am paying out of pocket over $500 to have this fixed at a chevy dealership.you can never be sure a dock is locked or unlock, which poses a safety risk for my child who could open the door while i am going down the road; not to mention the risk of someone entering the car while it is stopped (attended or not).

I own a 2009 chevy tahoe andi have been dealing with door lock problems for the past year.the driver door will not open at this point and rear passenger door will not open from time to time.at this moment we have 2 working doors, but i am concerned that in case of an emergency these remaining 2 currently working doors will not open either and my family may be trapped.someone suggested we contact the national transportation safety board and file a complaint to see if maybe we can force gm into a recall since this is a safety issue. Is this something you would be able to help us with? please advice on how i should proceed with this issue.thank you so much in advance for your help and cooperation with this issue.

In regards of my 2009 chevy tahoe ltz this vechicle has had some issues in the few months of ownership. When ever the car is parked an you exit the suv to lock it it does not lock you hear the clicking sound like its locked but when you try to open the door that should be locked it opens right up an the alarm goes off an to mention the door handles are chipping away an the plastic cuts almost every person that opens my doors that are not careful. An ive had to patch almost 5 places on my coolant an a/c lines that are aluminum very cheaply made.

Tahoe looses all electrical power wont crank, radio goes off while driving, door locks go up andengine goes into lose of power volt gauge drops below 14v ,stop. Truck go to crank no electrical power, go to touch battery cables then it will start have not been able to correct problem, intrarnate is full of same problem

Auto door locks failed to function. This has continued thru several repairs including today - 11/30/2012.

We have had nothing but problems out of this tahoe. When driving the dash lights flash, door locks move up and down, speedometer will go to zero then back up to speed an so forth, the tahoe will start gearing down on its own, the air will go off, and the radio will flash on and off. The vehicle has even shut completely off before when going down the interstate. We have replaced the negative ground wires and the 175 amp mega fuse. Second vacation with this tahoe and still having problems!!!

The battery gauge will drop or fluctuate. It does not occur immediately, but after driving for a couple minutes. Once the battery gauge drops many things are affected. The car hesitates to increase speed, braking is affected, cruise control is affected. The cruise control will turn on unexpectedly at times. When needing to accelerate it hesitates and once it goes the engine puts out more than is needed or expected. Braking is slow and pulsates slightly as the transmission is downshifting. The battery and alternator have been checked and appear to be in working order and nothing wrong with either of them.

The actuator in the passenger driver door became inoperable. Once that was fixed, both the passenger and driver door started having the same issue. This should be a recall item since it's affecting multiple doors.

The 2009 chevrolet tahoe automatic lift gate became a significant danger to those accessing the rear compartment of the vehicle. Typical operation of the automatic lift gate is that the rear hatch opens completely and remains open with a single button click. The same automatic lift gate typically closes and remains shut with a single button click.on or around may 28th, 2015, my son was placing several items in the back of the vehicle when the liftgate began shutting on him. In an attempt to hold the liftgate open, it continued to close forcefully without raising back up. Thinking quickly i was able to pull him away from the liftgate as it continued to clamp anything in its path. My son received a bumped head and scratches as the door shut on him.the issue appeared to be an electrical issue that caused the liftgate to close forcefully and clamp shut without consideration of anything in its path. I also was not able to prevent the liftgate from closing as it just clamped shut, crushing anything in its path.this is a major safety concern and we fear that other people may be injured or killed as a result of this malfunction.there is no rapid functionality to override the the motor (switching to manual) that controls liftgate operations.this could very well have crushed my child if i hadn't been standing next to him.other issues that occurred at the same time within the vehicle included:1) a single event where the radio stayed on one channel and would not change without restarting the car was when the issue began;2) xm satellite radio began working without a subscription;3) the automatic memory position of the driver seat did not remain in position as typical; and4) the liftgate would automatically open about 18 inches and immediately close, crushing anything in its path.

Electrical issues dash and all electric would go hey wire engine performance would be erratic a very safety problem while driving

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated the rear left door failed to unlock when using the driver's control panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician replaced the door actuator. However, after the vehicle was repaired the failure occurred on the right side. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

Stabilitrak will disengage, air bag light comes on then off, abs light comes on then off, cruise stops working when using turn signal, door locks start unlocking then locking, brakes start applying themselves, engine slows to a crawl, lights start going on and off on the dash with dinging sound.

I have an 2009 chevrolet tahoe ltz that has several electrical issues. My local chevy dealer (lakeside chevrolet in warsaw) hooked it up on their computer system and can't find anything wrong, so the dealer where i purchased this used vehicle (theautopark.net) replaced the ignition switch because they "think" that may be what's causing my vehicle issues. Below are the various issues that i am experiencing:1. Periodically, the door locks will cycle up and down and the power on the dash (radio, headlights, etc) goes black and the vehicle sputters like it's going to die (even while driving down the highway)2. After that happens, and the vehicle comes out of this state, but if you smash down on the pedal the whole thing will occur again (huge safety issue while on the highway...no headlights and decreasing speed)3. Sometimes, the vehicle won't start (nothing happens) 4. The cd player sounds like the motor inside is constantly running.the dealer (theautopark.net) said this is a cooling fan...but it always runs? 5. The vehicle will completely die when placing the car in park and shutting off the engine (no power....nothing.coasts to a halt.)note: we've already replaced the battery and still have all of the aforementioned issues.update: the ignition switch replacement was a huge fail. On the way home last night, the vehicle did some really wacky things when i used my turn signal (the vehicle slowed dramatically while driving down the highway and the headlights and dash lights flickered off and on). All of this has made me angry enough that i disconnected the battery overnight to reboot the computer....i don't know if this helped or worked, but i am desperate enough to try anything right now because my family's safety is in jeopardy.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a failure in which it would intermittently resist acceleration accompanied by a warning chime sounding. The contact also stated that the door locks would unexpectedly lock and unlock. The failure occurred regardless of the speed traveled. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 57,000. Updated 07/06/12 on four occasions the door began locking, unlocking, chiming as if the doors were open. The warning lights began flashing and the vehicle would decelerate quickly as if the vehicle was placed in neutral and the accelerator was unresponsive.the dealer was unable to diagnose the problem. Updated 07/17/12

Vehicle's rear passenger side door lock stopped functioning.door lock will not respond to wireless transmitter, nor unlock button in the vehicle.lock can be manually opened or closed from within the vehicle, but that does not do me any good when i have a 4 year old child in the back seat.

The battery light turns on. Ut reads check battery system.

When driving the dash lights flash, door locks move up and down, speedometer will go to zero then back up to speed an so forth, the tahoe will start gearing down on its own, the air will go off, and the radio will flash on and off. The vehicle has even shut completely off before when going down the interstate.have had to replace dvd player, horn.also have 3 children this vehicle is not safe at all to drive.i don't want to sale it because im scared for someone elses life.

Light comes on abs traction control

Heat sensor on the dash bord neverwork correctly because of my crack dash board. And even it is freezing out side, with in 5 minutes, needle will shoot to full in red zone. Make my car shut off , i had to replace it 3 times at 325.00. I would like to be reimbursed. The sensor comes on at least 4 times a year after the dash cracked.

Was driving on a local street a little over 20mph, getting ready to get on highway, when my 2009 tahoe abruptly, forcibly, and instantly dangerously dropped down to almost 10mph. The car behind me had to abruptly stop to avoid colliding with my truck. Tried to increase speed to over 10mph and truck kept forcibly jerking. I was able to avoid afew collisions by turning on my hazard lights and waving out my hand to traffic. Definitely did not get on the highway because my truck would not increase speed and continuously, forcibly, and abruptly jerked all the way down to the dealer (approximately 9 miles, 20 minutes driving).

Loss power while driving while going 75 mph on a highway, the.car went to a limp mode from 75 to 15 mph in a couple of seconds time, almost was hit from behind., door lock actuators startcycling, dash lights go on the blink, fail to start & cruise control loss of operation.id for recall is 14v614, my vin currently is not on the recall list, but i am experiencing the exact same system of safety issues et..

On 7 occasions (after 3 they reset the code, then a month later i brought my vehicle in of they had vehicle for 30 days of which put in 3 parts. After 800 at dealership they cancelled remaining warranty with agreement for me to afford payment to fix except it kept happening.while driving 2009 tahoe driving approached corner and brake system failed.was able to coast to a stop.shut off vehicle and restarted vehicle and it started to work fine.it will not fix while driving and it is an extreme safety hazard.vehicle acceleration has delay or lack of power when accelerating.when attempting to brake, vehicle continues to increase momentum for brief moments.i've had the vehicle back for 2 months and problem with brake failureand acceleration hesitation/in fluctuations has happened and continues to happen. By phone agreement talking with dealership where vehicle was purchased, was going to return vehicle today but the owner bill nettleton refused.i need this vehicle safe so i can drive it or sell it.

My tahoe will jerk backwards really hard.then i get error messages stating the "stabilitak has malfunctioned" "traction control off" "service engine" and last but certainly not least "reducing engine power".i cannot go over 15 when this happens, which makes it really hard to get off the road when this is all happening.the whole vehicle bucks back and forth wildly as the cyclinders are shutting down.this is a terrifying experience since i have 2 small children in the car with me.now my car is not safe to drive.if i do try to drive it it grinds and makes horrible noises and the service engine light is now permanently illuminated on my gauges.i cannot turn the vehicle with out it completely stopping. On its own. My foot will still be on the gas.also it accelerates on its own. We live in nd and get tons of snow and ice. This thing is a death trap.i have purchased a vehicle that i cannot drive. But still must make payments on.it is a total lemon!

Have owned since 2010. Have had the vehicle lose power while driving a couple of years ago. The throttle body was replaced. The vehicle idles rough (you can feel it idle but not all of the time). Dealership said they could not detect a rough idle issue. Later, another issue with the throttle body causing the check engine light and misfires in cylinder (have paperwork inside vehicle) replaced a sensor related to the throttle body. Last friday, march 2, 2018 driving on a crowded downtown street the tahoe began to idle rough again, to the point of the seat belts shaking and the engine sounded as if it were about to lose power again (been there done that). Arrived at work placed the vehicle in park and the traction control/stabilitrak message appeared that both were off, then the warning service traction control flashed then to service stabilitrak. I looked into the issue and called the dealer ship as well as the warranty folks telling them of the issue made appt for following day to bring in. Went to drive home, the check engine light is now on and the car is rocking and sounds like it might stall out in rush hour traffic. Limped the car to the closest dealer out of fear of an accident should the car shut down driving home. Researched online, found that this is an issue with a tsb issued # 11273 that noone has ever mentioned with the multiple times the vehicle has been repaired due to the issue listed in the bulletin that could have caused a devastating accident as i drive 5 - 6 kids to school every morning and can not imagine why this was not shared with me as an owner (registered with gms website with the vin) so i am sure to receive updates for issues just like this, that no one has ever mentioned even though the repairs are identical to what is stated in the gm issued technical service bulletin # 11273.

While driving my vehicles traction control is coming on for no reason. The dealership said it is a false reading causing the traction control to come on when it shouldn't. They said the sensors would need replaced and all the previous models have had this recalled but not out current year yet. The dealership said there are so many that have had this same problem but it has yet to be recalled on this current model. This is a death trap while driving but we don't have the $500 to fix it. This part should be recalled like the rest of the models. It is so scary and hard to control when it suddenly starts doing it!!! please help!!

Takata recall has a recall on my vehicle airbags. When i hit a pothole on city street airbag came out, brakes locked up and stabilization and traction controlservice lights came on. Had to call for a tow truck..

Started with a #4 misfire and no engine power and dealer said truck was fine. Finally after 4 cylinder misfiring, dealer agreed truck had an issue and is now saying i needa valve job done for # 1800.00 but it looks like i should tell them that its the lifters.. 74,000 on my 2007 tahoe for a 25,000.00 truck not only that but they are saying if that don't fix it then i need to pay 3500.00 for a cam shaft. Its running but check engine light stays on.

Confused why this would happen.. Left motor mount broken, right side stressed and cracked.replaced motor and trans mission mounts.

I was driving my 2009 chevy tahoe and the engine quit .so i coasted and of course their was no brakes or steering ... I could have been killed in this vehicle. I was scared to death.what if i was driving at 65 on interstate?something is def wrong.

Check engine light came on and i pulled over and there was no oil.it has been using oilever since i bought the vehicle, it will use anywhere from a 1 1/2 to 2 quarts of oil in between oil changes

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that while idle or in stop and go traffic, the vehicle stalled without warning. Additionally, there was a loss of power steering assist. The contact placed the vehicle in park, turned off the vehicle and then restarted the vehicle. The contact contacted cox chevrolet incorporated (2900 cortez rd w, bradenton, fl 34207; (941) 348-6417) who informed the contact that the failure was a common issue however, there was no recall for the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

Warning light, turn off the engine.and the vehicle tugged forward. This vehicle has turned off on occasion and has had other engine warning lights.the engine warning light, now, remains lit.

Engine oil consumption, when you fill up with gas you fill up with oil

Cracks in dash could cause serious injury in crash. Dash cracking started around 80k. Engine uses oil, several qts. Between oil changes. It has used oil since around 45k miles

My emgine had just a little over 100000 miles on it and i almost got killed on the interstate.first i saw smoke coming from below and it looked like it was coming from thetruck next to mine.then i felt a stopping feeling in my tahoe.i moved quickly to the service lane and got it immediately to my mechanic.i have records of regular services to my vehicle.i had to replace the motor $7239.49.ihad my attorney look into it and my year plus a few other years had the same problem but the dealer never recalled it.

Driving truck east on imperial hwy, at around 40 mph, when the truck had a sudden loss of power, could not accelerate, truck was towed to the dealer, on 9/30/14 i picked up truck from the dealer, 5 minutes after driving it from the dealer, at around 35 mph, it stalled again, truck was taken back to dealer.

I have a gm product. A 2009 chevy tahoe with only 7,000 miles on it. It turn off itself witout any warning i am approaching the stop sign or traffic light and when start to turn i noticed the vehicle have turn off itself. Since i can not steer well since the vehicle is off is then when i can hit a car or cause a rear end crash because i am abruptely stoping. I had to put the vehicle in parking and the vehicle start right away with hot air coming from the vents of the air conditioning. The vehicle came with a 3 year 0r 36,000 miles warranty. I took the vehicle to the dealership and no codes are coming. This always occur randomly and when approaching intersections and in two ocasions i almost have an accident. I have talked to the dealership here in lake city and they told me that the vehicle is not on the recall but is showing exactly the problem described in the recall. I also wrote a letter to gm along with the recall and no action is taken by gm. As myself i hope we don't have other customer accross the nation dealing with this problem and gm not acting and dealership not acting i learn my lesson with gm.

The dash board is cracked in three different spots and one is right at the passenger air bag. The dealership will not fix cause it's not under warranty. I feel like this is a safety hazard and gm needs to fix this issue.

The dashboard is cracked in 2 areas.one at the airbag and over the speed odometer gage area. I also had to replace the instrument panel dash-knee bolster because it became loose and broke into hundred pieces when i attempted to press itback into place.bad material - too brittle

The 2009 tahoe fuel module control board assembly exhibited faulty adhesive and allowed water to enter and create one or more shorts in the fuel module.this prompted a check engine light.the vehicle was taken to a chevrolet dealership (buckalew chevrolet, conroe, tx).after checking the vin, the dealership stated that no active recalls were found and that the fuel module had been exposed to too much water.i was asked if i took the tahoe "off-roading" or used boat-ramps excessively.i replied that the tahoe had not been exposed to any form of off-roading or abnormally wet conditions and had not been taken to any boat ramps or bodies of water.i was told the condition was not covered under the drivetrain warranty and therefore required repairs that had to be paid by the vehicle owner.i have since found a gm recall that matches the symptoms and diagnosis exactly (gm recall no. 08411), but after calling the national hotlines listed for chevrolet and gm (as well as the local dealer), i have been told that my vin does not match those listed under the recall.the 2009 chevrolet tahoe is still experiencing several issues with adhesive failure in areas requiring water seals (fuel module again, cabin leaks, door leaks causing shorts in power windows and power locks in two doors).despite many attempts, i have been unable to prompt chevrolet/gm to take any appropriate action in assisting/resolving the issue.

Keeps loosing power and staking while driving the brakes calipers are malfunctioning the fuel control module is being effective see there was a safety recall on this but my vehicle is listed dmfor make and model but not vin but it's effective

By phone agreement talking with dealership where vehicle was purchased, was going to return vehicle today but the owner bill nettleton refused.i need this vehicle safe so i can drive it or sell it.

Car stalls when making turns or when its at a stop light or just in traffic that its moving very slow.

Electrical issues dash and all electric would go hey wire engine performance would be erratic a very safety problem while driving

The fuel control module on the 2009 gmc tahoe has malfunctioned four times since we purchased the taho, it has failed as we are driving down the highway compromising our safety, it fails without warning, gm is aware of this issue and has only recalled the early manufactured vehicles, 27000 to be exact, have tried to tell gm about this problem and they refuse to acknowledge it as a safety issue.the last time it failed was driving down the highway about 65-70 miles an hour with children in the back seat, and the fuel system just shut down...this is a problem with the manufactured part that is supposed to be waterproof, but the seal fails and shorts out the fuel system. This is the recall on the early part of the year vehicles: gm is recalling 27,188 my 2009 cadillac escalade, escalade hybrid, escalade esv, and escalade ext; chevrolet avalanche, suburban, tahoe, tahoe hybrid, and colorado; and gmc yukon, yukon hybrid, yukon xl, and canyon vehicles. The fuel system control modules may have a condition in which an adhesive separation of the room temperature vulcanizing (rtv) seal between the seal and the housing may allow water to seep into the module.

Dashboard has cracked near the passenger side airbag and driver side near the defrost vent- no accident. Simply sitting in the driveway of our home. The check engine light came on and when it was hooked up to the diagnostic computer system it stated it was bc of the fuel system control module which is already under recall.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that upon placing the key in the ignition, the vehicle cranked but failed to start. The check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not offer any further assistance. The contact referenced tsb14515a. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact previously received a notification for the air bags recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to preston hood chevrolet (212 hollywood blvd nw, fort walton beach, fl 32548) for the recall repair. The contact stated that soon after retrieving the vehicle, the blind spot detection system failed to operate as needed. The contact also stated that the turn signals made an abnormal cracking sound while activated. The dealer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with a diagnostic fee to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Auto door locks failed to function. This has continued thru several repairs including today - 11/30/2012.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the power windows and all four door locks failed when attempting to engage with the automatic key fob and the contact had to manually lock and unlock doors. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not inspected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000. The current mileage was 60,000.

The lock on the rear, driver side door does not work properly. It will not lock or unlock with the key fob. This is a known problem and gm refuses to cover the repairs unless the vehicle is under warranty. This is a safety issue. My son is in a car seat and is not able to unlock the door himself. There are multiple threads online of people all complaining about the same problem. It's an expensive repair. Shame on gm for not covering this when it is clearly a manufacturing defect!!!

Power locks on driver and rear passenger door stopped functioning properly ( will not lock or unlock ).this could be a serious problem if in a vehicle crash as i would have trouble accessing my child in the rear seat. Could you imagine a car on fire and not being able to reach your child. Please issue a recall to have the door lock actuators replaced. This came up as a very common issue while searching for a remedy.

The door does not lock or unlock at certain times, you see the locks try to move up yet it doesn't happen. I need to use the key. I've changed the batteries on the remote thinking it wasthe reason but it did no good. I know a few others that have a 2009 with same issue to include the cracking of the dash board.

Door lock on the driver's side rear doesn't not want to lock.cannot lock the door by pushing the door lock button on the key fob or lock button inside the car.

Left side rear door lock actuator does not function, will notlock or unlock with either manual button on armrest or remote keyfob.assembly receives an electrical signal to lock/unlock but mechanism does not travel enough to complete full lock/unlock.

The locks on my 2009 chevrolet tahoe do not lock or unlock. I feel this is a safety hazard because i have 4 children.

Door lock actuators failed on the two front doors and the driver side rear door creating significant difficulty in both entering and leaving the vehicle. Of particular concern was the great difficulty in removing children from the backseat of the car. The manual locks are out of reach of an adult in the front seat which ultimately requires returning the key to the ignition and lowering the rear window to remove a child from the car. This procedure is time-consuming and i hope that no one ever needs to perform that procedure in an emergency situation such as a fire.

Vehicle's rear passenger side door lock stopped functioning.door lock will not respond to wireless transmitter, nor unlock button in the vehicle.lock can be manually opened or closed from within the vehicle, but that does not do me any good when i have a 4 year old child in the back seat.

Doors will not lock or unlock.locks make sound that they are trying to engage but have to be manually locked or unlocked.i have small children that i am afraid that will be locked inside my vehicle and i will be unable to open doors without breaking the window.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the doors would not lock when utilizing the electronic key fob from the exterior of the vehicle. When the contact was inside the vehicle, the doors would not lock or unlock automatically, only manually. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the door lock actuator assembly would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the front driver's side door would not unlock from the interior or exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the door actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

I have had an ongoing problem with the passenger side rear door lock not locking properly. It seems that the is a problem with the actuator. I have researched this and found that it is a huge problem for many tahoe owners.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for an unrelated repair and they detected that the transmission dipstick had broken. In addition, both front passenger and rear driver side doors would not lock. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. The vin was unavailable.

Doors do not lock when car moves or when they are locked or unlocked with remote. Kids sitting in back seat could open door and fall out , faulty door lock actuator.

I have had to replace the brakes twice, as well as the driver side hub.i have replacethe door trim at least 4 times. Everyone i have met that has the same year has had trouble with the trim.i also feel that the transmission has trouble shifting when towing.

Warning light, turn off the engine.and the vehicle tugged forward. This vehicle has turned off on occasion and has had other engine warning lights.the engine warning light, now, remains lit.

The contact stated that the failures all occurred on different occasions. The contact stated the service engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the auxiliary transmission fluid pump and auxiliary transmission control module were replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repairs as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

Drive train vibration since taking dealer delivery nov/december 2015 @ 2830 milesair bag notice not to ride in front passenger seat10/27/2016 1st occurence of unintended acceleration oct 27, 2015 @ 8680 miles

The vehicle is a 2009 chevy tahoe ltz. At about 9000 miles the vehicle started to have problems. When you first started the vehicle and drove it and had to stop in the first 1/2 mile or so, when you tried to accelerate the vehicle would jump forward and then lockup and the engine would die. It didn't matter if it was 30 degrees or 60 degrees out. It happened everytime the stop had to be done. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they said there were no codes so nothing could be wrong, gm was contacted and the dealership called back and had me leave the tahoe there. They were told it only happened when the vehicle was first started or when it had been sitting for about 5 hours. It was tried shortly afteri left it and they called and said nothing happened so they were going to leave it overnight and try it in the morning. They did and i got a call that it almost put the service person riding in the pass seat through the windshield. Long story shortened, it was found that the transmission was manufactured with out one of the main bearings, this wastheir answer to the problem and after about three weeks it was finally repaired and i got it back. Gm, chevy knows about this as they were part of the notification process as they had to ok all repairs on the rebuilding of the transmission would not install a new one. Don't know if it was a bearing or not as the tahoe ran fine for about 9000 miles.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning light, followed by abnormal acceleration. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel injector needed to be cleaned yet, the remedy failed to repair the problem. The vehicle was taken back to dealer who then replaced the converter but to no avail. The vehicle was then taken to a local repair shop for a second opinion who diagnosed that the torque converter and the transmission were defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 40,000.

2009 chevrolet tahoe. Consumer states problem with vehicle transmission *tgwthe consumer stated the six speed transmission shifted constantly, and hard. It didn't maintain speed when the cruise control was set.the dealer replaced several modules and sensors within the transmission.

The dash has cracked in several places. What is alarming is there are cracks around the passenger airbag and if it ever deploys i'm afraid there will be exploding pieces of the dash going everywhere. The passenger seat belt gets tight and will not release until fully retracted.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe hybrid.while the second row seats were pulled back to house cargo, the seats returned to the upright position and crushed the cargo.while driving less than 60 mph, with the second row seats pulled back to transport cargo, 40 percent of the seat would fall and lock to the floor during acceleration.the remaining 60 percent would fall to the floor and then return to the upright position, striking the rear of the driver's seat in the process.the manufacturer stated that they were researching the failure and currently have no remedy.the failure and current mileages were less than 877. Takata recall has a recall on my vehicle airbags. When i hit a pothole on city street airbag came out, brakes locked up and stabilization and traction controlservice lights came on. Had to call for a tow truck..

I have had to replace the brakes twice, as well as the driver side hub.i have replacethe door trim at least 4 times. Everyone i have met that has the same year has had trouble with the trim.i also feel that the transmission has trouble shifting when towing.

On june 16, 2015, i slowed to get off a highway in maine and immediately noticed that the brakes were not slowing properly. Soon after i heard a clucking noise and thought i ran over something that sounded like metal.i checked but saw nothing, but i noticed that the brakes looked very blue like they had been running hot.a short distance down the road the sound got worse.i contacted a chevrolet dealer.fortunately they were able to accommodate me the next morning.i did not use my car for the rest of that day. Upon inspection of the front noise they showed me that the right front wheel was about to fall off and the left front was grinding and ready to fail.the rotors had to be replaced due to the high heat, and bluing was causing chipping off and brake failure.i should mention thatthis 2009 vehicle only had 48,793 miles on it, at the time of the failure.the best part is that the vehicle had a full inspection one week prior to the failure.so, the end result was that both front wheel hub bearing assemblies had to be replaced, along with the both front rotors, brakes and calibers.the dealer tried to tell me that the calibers were still good, however i had them replaced because they were also overheated.anyone who knows mechanics should understand that in this situation after running highway speeds, that there would be overheating of the calibers along with rotors and brakes when the wheel hubs are not running smooth.i question why these wheel bearing failed at such low mileage. I take excellent care of my vehicles.on 12/31/2013 at 40,126 miles i had new brakes and rotors installed, and had the brake fluid changed.still gm doesn't think that they have any responsibility to reimburse me for the calibers, rotors, and brakes that were damaged because of the premature failure of my front wheel hubs.

Stabilitrak will disengage, air bag light comes on then off, abs light comes on then off, cruise stops working when using turn signal, door locks start unlocking then locking, brakes start applying themselves, engine slows to a crawl, lights start going on and off on the dash with dinging sound.

I own a 2009 chevy tahoe hybrid (purchased in early march of 2009). I was backing out of the garage with my family when i realized the brakes weren't working to slow us out of the driveway. I drove through the subdivision at 15mph and i couldn't get it to stop! in reviewing online, there are several people who have had the identical problem with this failure.the "service brakes" and "service stabilitrak" lights came on. The dealership stated they hadn't heard about this and they've ordered a "control module" to fix it. Many people on the internet have returned the car and others are still dealing with the problem. If gm knows of a brake failure issue and hasn't ordered a recall yet, i just don't understand.

On or about 8-9-10, we felt a shuddering feeling in our vehicle.we took the vehicle to a gm dealer and they stated the brakes needed to have the rotors turned.gm dealer completed repairs and on or about may of 2011, vehicle began to shudder again.we took the vehicle back to the same gm dealer and the rotors were bad again.the dealer stated that the rotors had been turned improperly back in august 2010.they returned the rotors and told us it was an engineering defect and that we would have to come back every year to have our brakes repaired and they would take responsibility.on or about 8-5-11, the vehicle began to shudder once again.on 8-9-11, we returned the vehicle to the same gm dealer and advised them it was shuddering again.the service representative advised that we would have to replace the rotors and it would cost us as it is not covered under warranty.we informed him of the prior visits and he was not forthright that he knew of our vehicle.i advised him that i was told by the service manager that the rotors were repaired improperly and he acknowledged it was a bad machine and they have a new one now.he said it was due to our driving habits and was not a warranty item as it is normal wear and tear.he then attempted to change the conversation by getting us to perform recommended maintenance on the transmission, fuel injectors, and differential.these services were not even required by the owners manual until at least 100,000 miles and this vehicle only has 30,000 miles currently.we changed the conversation back to the issue at hand (the brakes) and he said he would inspect and advise and document to the service manager.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that there was a leak in the power steering. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the rack and pinion gear was replaced three times. The failure continued to occur. The contact planned to have the gears replaced again. The contact called the manufacturer who offered an extended warranty. The current mileage was approximately 9,040. The failure mileage was 923.

Car stalls when making turns or when its at a stop light or just in traffic that its moving very slow.

The dash over my steering has busted as well as the dash around my airbag in my truck for unknown reason. The cracks continue to run. I was going to check about having it possibly patched but found that this is a common problem with hundreds of people including some i know personally. The cracking around the airbag is kind of scary.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard in the vehicle had a three inch crack starting from the driver side air bag to the windshield. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 39,525.

Vehicle dash cracked on the passenger side. A straight crack in the dash going from the air vent/defroster to the passenger air bag. A complete crack in the dash exists 2-4 inches long.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard had severe fractures on the front passenger side air bag area. The fracture extended and caused the dashboard to separate from the base, exposing the front passenger side air bag. The manufacturer stated that the dashboard failure was not recalled. The dashboard was not replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Updated 04/14/16*lj

Dashboard cracked at airbag and over the instrument panel.

Crack in dashboard near passenger airbag.

Our 2009 tahoe has developed a crack in the dash at the passenger-side airbag.this is above the left upper airbag area.we learned from friends that this is a common. We researched this problem the research on-line to realize that this is obviously a major product defect.i am also somewhat concerned that this defect is at the junction of the air bag lid- a potential safety issue. The integrity of the dash at the airbag junction is suspect of being compromised. The other concern is that gm take full responsibility for the replacement.i have been advised my share of cost will be $300.00. Our one friend has had his dash replaced 3 times, two of which were at the airbag junction.he told me of another friend with multiple replacements. He advised me that he would expect that my new dash would likely crack in the same place within 1-2 years.our local dealer (regal/lakeland) has also acknowledged that this is a common issue and did not dispute the potential for the new dash to have the same issue- noting that the dash is quite thin.

The dashboard on my 2009 tahoe has cracked in three different places and two of these cracks are located near the passenger airbag.i have concerns about expanded cracking and ultimately a problem occurring with that airbag.

Dashboard cracked near airbag module. Presents a potential hazard of dashboard shattering upon airbag deployment

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked at different locations, including where the air bag was located. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer stated that nothing could be done and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Dashboard is cracked on the driver side above the steering wheel.

In addition, the door lock actuators failed on all four doors and the running boards failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

When trying to open the liftgage, either manually or by pushing the button, the liftgate opens partially then suddenly falls.i have seen a recall for this, however i am not able to locate a recall specifically for a 2009 chevrolet tahoe."the affected vehicles have gas struts that hold the power liftgate up when open," said nhtsa in its recall summary. "these struts may prematurely wear and the open liftgate may suddenly fall. It may strike a person, increasing their risk of injury."

Cracked dashboard.

The dashboard above the steering column and gauges panel is cracked on two places and just keeps getting bigger.it rattles loudly as i drive down the street.

The dashboard cracked in several places although this car has always garaged and the sun shield used consistently. I am concerned about this affecting safety through airbag performance or sharp pieces of dash flying during an accident.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard exhibited severe cracks near the passenger front air bag area. The fracture extended to the drivers steering wheel area. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The technician advised that the dash board needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not replaced. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 98,000. Ma 10/5

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact noticed that the dashboard was cracking where the driver and passenger side air bags were located. The abs warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags), but the contact did not receive a notification. The failure mileage was 120,000.

I own a 2009 chevrolet tahoe that the dash board all of a sudden began showing cracks, within a peroid of 3 months after noticing, these cracks have traveled up the dash board above instrument panel, and at passenger side air bag cover. Eventually the dash will fall completely in. I am concerned that if the passenger air bag is deployed, the dash is so brital that fragments of the dash will cause severe cuts, and bodily harm with the possibilty of death.

Dashboard craked from one end of the passenger side to the other end of the drivers side. Its being going on over time, i can only think it happened when is stationary. However, it might of cracked when driving aswell.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard cracked near the instrument cluster. The crack was approximately 3 inches long. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 68,000.

Dashboard has cracked around the airbag

There is a crack in the airbag area of the dashboard.i reported this to gm in march 2016 and they refuse to correct the issue. Today, there is a new crack on the dashboard near the drivers side now. This is a known issue with these cars. The same thing happened to my 2007 chevy avalanche, and in 2010, gm replaced it without any issues.now with the tahoe, they refuse. The vehicle is parked under a garage awning and we never use anything but a dry rag to clean the dashboards. This is no fault of ours, and appears to be a known issue with chevy manufacturing.

I have a problem where the dash cracks right next to the passenger airbag which splits the dash and makes it weaker.

I bought the 2009 used chevy tahoe on august 1st 2015. I began to notice the plastic dashboard close to the passenger airbag began to crack and vibrate. The vibration got so bad that the crack spread and a new crack appeared on the plastic dash above the speedometer. Both cracks make the entire dash rattle when the car is driven over 45 mph. I am worried that if the airbags were to deploy, the plastic will fly into the passengers in the vehicle. I've tried contact covert gmc in austin, tx where i bought the vehicle and they said i had to spend $1300 to replace this defect.

Door lock will not lock or unlock

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the front driver's side door would not unlock from the interior or exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the door actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

My vehicle dash board has a lot of cracks in it. I have one near my airbags and two near my steering wheel.it rattles so bad when i drive. The cracks keeps getting worst.

Dashboardis cracking on passengerside around airbag also on drivers side above steeringcolum.i have 2 cracks on eachside of my dashboard.i have other people that own the same make, model and year that are having the same problem.

Cracked dashboard above instrument cluster and left upper portion of passenger side dash airbag, vehicle was stationary, came out one morning and cracks showed up, about a month went by and pieces of dash started breaking off dashboard and falling inside dash area

Dash has cracked by the passenger airbag and also on the driver side at the joint and climbing towards the steering hump. The cracks showed up almost at the same time. No impact to the dash and only wipe them down with a damp cloth or duster.

Dash board cracked all the way acros driver and passenger side. Crack continued until it met the seams of dashboard to airbag.

My dash has 2 cracks that have appeared under normal driving conditions. The dash is starting to bounce as i drive and im worried it will become separated and hit someone in the truck. There are so many tahoe owners who have this same problem, it is obvious that it is a defective part. I have a crack in the center and 1 over the driver side gauges.

Dash cracked in several places. Pulled out of driveway and heard a 'pop' sound, stopped car and noticed that the dash had cracked. I fear that pieces of the dash would be sent flying in the event of an air bag deployment.

Left side rear door lock actuator does not function, will notlock or unlock with either manual button on armrest or remote keyfob.assembly receives an electrical signal to lock/unlock but mechanism does not travel enough to complete full lock/unlock.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. While cleaning the vehicle, it was discovered that the dashboard was cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

Front passenger door fails to lock at preselected vehicle speed.will not lock with remote or door lock switch.rear passenger door will not unlock by any electronic means.

Dash has cracked in two place.the same thing has happened in our 2011 chev. Silverado pick up.

The dash board is cracked in three different spots and one is right at the passenger air bag. The dealership will not fix cause it's not under warranty. I feel like this is a safety hazard and gm needs to fix this issue.

I have two cracks in my dash board right by where my air bags are.one is on the passenger side and the other is on the driver side.i view this has a safety hazard, if for some reason i am in a wreck i do not know how this would affect myself or my daughter or even if this would prevent the air bags from deploying. I have contacted my local dealership and waiting to hear back from them what gm will do about this situation..replace..repair etc.

Dash board crack around passenger air bag. Left inside upper corner. Vehicle was parked at time it happened. No chemical have been used on dash and no heavy objects have ever been placed on dashboard.dashboard has become very unstable around passenger airbag

Front passenger and driver interior door handles are peeling plastic with sharp edges. A child and an adult have cut their hands opening the door from the inside to get out. No stitches required but severe cut. I went to see about replacement. Told not considered defect and the same type of handles would be replaced at a cost of $800. Why would anyone replace them when you know the same thing will happen again with new handles. There has got to be a better solution for this defect.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoethe contact stated that all the coating on the door handles began to peel without warningthe vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000. Updated 02/14/17*lj

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that there was premature deterioration on the interior door handles of the front driver and passenger side doors. The contact stated that the handles were fraying with sharp edges. The dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that the two front interior door handles needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa action number: ea10004 (latches/locks/linkage, structure). The failure mileage was 46,700.

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. While the contact was driving the vehicle 10 mph without warning the rear windowand hinges suddenly broke off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the rear window and top hinges needed to be replaced. There were no prior warnings and the current and failure mileages were 24875. Updated 3/12/10 updated 06/18/10

The contact owns a 2009 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the front tires were wearing down much faster the rear tires. The contact took the vehicle to be inspected and found that the front end was out of alignment. The vehicle has never been in an accident and has only been driven on paved roads. The manufacturer stated the vehicles alignment was not covered. The failure mileage and current mileages were 12,975. Updated 09/02/11*ljupdated 09/14/11

I've tried contact covert gmc in austin, tx where i bought the vehicle and they said i had to spend $1300 to replace this defect.

The dashboard on my 2009 tahoe cracked just to the left of the airbag on the passenger side and then several months later cracked above the gauge cluster.i contacted gm, along with many other owners with this issue, as i am concerned about the safety - since it was so close to the air bag.

Cracked and broken dashboard.broken near passenger side air bag.if in an accident the dashboard could shatter sending sharp edged hard plastic into occupants possibly propelled by deployed airbags.

Dash board cracked at drivers side . This is a safety issue due to deployment of airbags.

I still have not been able to get my airbag replace. They say they do not have an airbag yet.i have been trying since july 2016.plus my dash cracked near the airbag.

20759945 fuel pump flow control module has a bad seal and gets water inside it just like the others that have been recalled on many gm vehicles including most other 2009 chevy tahoe's. This is terribly dangerous and i almost wrecked due to my vehicle not running right after driving through a puddle on interstate.

Cracked dashboard.

Dash panel is cracked in two separate places

The dash around the airbag is cracked. Tahoe had 45k on it when it started to crack.

I have 2 large cracks in the dashboard of my 2009 chevy tahoe ltz. I have always kept a sunshield in the window to reduce interior heat and damage to dash. But, this didn't work. The damage happened while the vehicle was in front of my home. I believe that the problem could have been avoided if the manufacturer had used a thicker material (plastic) for the dash. I love the vehicle. But, hate to look at the cracks every time i get in. I inquired into replacement of the dash and was given a rough estimate of $1500-1800.

Dash cracked in several places. Gm refuse to repair.

Dash board cracking

The dashboard has cracked in several places. We haven't had any wrecks.

Like all other chevrolets, the dash has cracked on the passenger side by the airbag. 73223 miles. Unsure when exactly it happened

Warning light, turn off the engine.and the vehicle tugged forward. This vehicle has turned off on occasion and has had other engine warning lights.the engine warning light, now, remains lit.

Dash crack appearing on top left corner of passenger airbag area anddrivers side above instrument cluster . The vehicle was in a enclosed garages;stationary and not running.first noticed on 04-04-2016

Dash has a 7 inch crack above theinstrument panel this is a problem with a lot of 2009 tahoe and i think this should be a recall.

My dashboard has a crack in it....i am afraid it will not be able to protect me in a crash (may effect airbags).

The dashboard of my 2009 chevrolet tahoe is cracked in the passenger side where the airbag is located. I see many chevy tahoeowners with the same issue but there is no recall yet and it seems that this problem could not only get worst but potentiallydangerous based on the location of the crack.

The dashboard is cracked in two places .

Purchased this vehicle new in 2009 in baton rouge, louisiana. In the last two years have noticed cracks have developed on the dashboard adjacent to the vent openings on both the driver and passenger side. These cracks appear similar to those reported by others. The dash has been cleaned routinely with armor all, which has preserved the condition of the dashboards on our other vehicles. Recently the crack on the driver's side has begun to propagate toward the steering console. It is not just unsightly but concerning, as others have raised, as i fear this may impair the effectiveness of the airbag system.

My dash is horribly cracked all the way across

Have 2009 tahoe only 70k miles dashboard has big crack

The dash is cracked in 2 places near the passenger dash airbag and directly up the dash where the speedometer is located. I'm concerned this could be a safety issue in the event of an accident.

Dahsboard cracked and smelled smoke now hear clicking noise in the dash think that its related to air flow heat / air cond.

Dashboard cracked in multiple places, spontaneously.

Dashboard cracked in more than one place

The dash is cracking in 2 places.one at the airbag which is a concern if it causes a malfunction with the airbag and the other is over the instrument panel where i am sure when dust and dirt gets down in it, there will be more damage caused

Dashboard cracks above the airbag area and above the instrument cowling. The crack has slowly been increasing and now it is so bad that it will have to be replaced. This is a manufacturer's defect possibly from over-tightening bolts.

My dashboard has large cracks extending from the driver's side to the passenger side airbag. I have fears the dashboard will break apart and strike me or a passenger if the airbags deploy.

Very large crack across the dash while not driving

Dashboard cracking in places

Dash board cracks severely above steering column and by air bag on passenger side

Cracked dash. Gm is offering no help. They act like they haven't heard of the problem.my dash is cracked above the instrument cluster and starting to by the passenger airbag.

Dashboard has cracked in three places. One in corner surrounding passenger air bag. Could lead to improper airbag deployment. Others around "hump" corners above instrument cluster. Very common issue from what i have read. Vehicle garage kept. Cracks occur in same location on hundreds of chevrolet vehicles.

Purchased vehicle feb 2012. The dash became cracked above steering wheel within a year of ownership, had dash replaced at chevrolet dealership in may 2013. Within 3 years the new dash started to crack also and has continued to crack in multiple places; above the steering wheel and around passenger side dash airbag. We live within city limits on paved roads, we also have a paved driveway.

Cracked dashboard and spreading - my 2009 dashboard has large cracks in several places and is now exposing the electrical underneath.not only do i find this very alarming seeing as the airbags are underneath but the problem is only getting worse , in motion or not , and the rattling sounds of all the pieces have become super annoying. Gm this needs to be addressed and fixed! take care of your customers!!!!

Dash has cracked in two places.above instrument cluster and at the passenger airbag

Dash has cracked on passenger airbag and driver side. Plastic has sharp edges where cracking when cleaning.

2009 tahoe has a cracked dashboard it's very enjoying sometimes can cause a distraction from little bumps in the road making loud noises and makes a car's interior look horrible it's ridiculous that gm won't replace these under the lemon law it was just sitting in the garage when it happened to crack

Extensive cracks in dash including around and going up to front passenger side airbag placement. Fear is that if airbag deploys shards of plastic dash may be disloged and become projectiles.

Dash board cracking possibly effecting air bags

I have bought 4 door lock actuators and all keep failing there needs to be a recall. If there is a fire or an emergency i have kids and something may happen.

My dash is cracked across hump over speedometer gauges and cracked on side of passenger airbag. Just got in my car one morning to notice the dash cracked in two places. Worry about it cracking more and if passenger airbag goes off, possibly some pieces break off and fly with airbag.

Cracked & broken dashboard vehicle was stationary.

Dashboard is cracked where the passenger airbag is located

Dashboard cracked in several places

Dashboard cracking starting from on top of steering wheel by airbag. Other cracks around the dashboard.

In regards of my 2009 chevy tahoe ltz this vechicle has had some issues in the few months of ownership. Dash cracked above instrument panel while parked overnight in my driveway. Was not compromised prior to cracking.

Cracked dash.the dash has cracked at the passenger side airbag.if airbag deployed, the dash would probably turn to shrapnel.

The chrome on the insidedoor handles for both drive and passenger side is peeling and is very sharp. My 12 year old recently cut his finger open attempting to open the door. Online research indicates that this is a known issue with these vehicles

Dashboard has cracked near the passenger side airbag and driver side near the defrost vent- no accident. Simply sitting in the driveway of our home. The check engine light came on and when it was hooked up to the diagnostic computer system it stated it was bc of the fuel system control module which is already under recall.

Takata recall-the car was in motion when i noticed the dash cracked. It's cracked in three different sections, i noticed the same issue on other tahoe's and yukon.

Cracked dash.crack on the passenger side at the edge of the passenger airbag.larger crack on the driver side on the left hand side of the instrument panel.this has happened over time and the cracks have gotten larger. Since i have to select a date, simply putting todays date...

Dashboard is cracked in numerous places. Vehicle was stationary.

Cracks on dash and corner of passenger side airbag on dash

Cracked dash in multiple places

Cracks in dash could cause serious injury in crash. Dash cracking started around 80k. Engine uses oil, several qts. Between oil changes. It has used oil since around 45k miles

Dash board has cracked over the instrument panel and over the glove box area. No reason for this to happen.

Dash has started cracking more started on top by gauges and now has another crack by airbag on pass side. Called dealership said its out of warranty gm wont cover it, although its manufactured defect.

Cracked dashboard. Hazzard faulty installation and materials

Dash cracking severely around airbag on passenger side,, if deployed may cause additional damage from shrapnel from broken plastic pieces. This ongoing and progressive, started about two years ago

I purchased a 2009 chevy tahoe used and a knew about the cracking dashes so i made sure the one i purchased didn't have any cracks. I thought maybe they had resolved the issue. Well, after filling up with gas the other day i looked over ad noticed and crack in my dash right at the airbag. This is very concerning as i have 3 kids that ride in that car and if the airbag goes off i'm afraid the plastic will act like shrapnel and really hurt someone. Gm knows about this and i contacted them about it and they are not willing to do anything about it. More people need to come forward on this matter and gm needs to address it fast before someone gets killed.

My 2009 chevrolet tahoe dash is cracking which started at the passenger airbag. Now the cracks are on the driver side. There is also one area where the cracks have come together and can easily expose the trucks components under the dash which could include electrical components. I do not place items on my dash nor do i use any chemicals on the dash it just began to crack.

Dash cracking and causing impaired vison

There is a large crack in the dashboard running parallel with the front windshield of the car. It extends from driver side to passenger side up to the airbag on the passenger side. It also splits in two separate areas off the horizontal crack. One about 2 inches perpendicular to the large crack near the driver side and another perpendicular crack closer to the passenger side that extends 1-2 inches away from the larger crack. My car has been stored in the garage from day one. I did not notice how long ago this crack began.

Cracked dash in 2 places

Dash has cracked by driver side.

In october of 2015, i was driving my 2009 chevrolet tahoe on a city street during normal weather conditions. As i was sitting at a red light, i heard a loud "pop" noise that i originally thought came from an object hitting the windshield. Upon further review, i noticed my dashboard had inexplicably cracked in 2 places. The cracks are rather large and i am concerned this will jeopardize the deployment of the airbags. I contacted the local chevrolet dealership and they said they were not aware of any recalls regarding this matter.

Dash board above steering wheel well to wind shield and passenger side air bag panel is cracking and continues to grow in both directions. Vehicle was purchased this way and others of this year have the same issues.

My dash has been cracking and i have a crack in between the passenger airbag. I'm very concerned about this problem. I'm afraid that the airbag can deploy and enger my passenger in there face.i've tried to address this issue with the dealership, but i've gotten no help, especially now since my warranty has expired.i really hope i can get some help with this major problem and concern i have with my dash.

Cracks forming on dashboard panel, presents the hazard of plastic debris either deflating the air bag upon it's inflation or debris flying into the faces of passengers.transmission dipstick tube is also cracked which allows water to get into the transmission, this was recalled for 2008 tahoe's but not 2009.

Dashboard cracked.

Both door handles on driver and passenger side are this silver plastic that has began to peel up just on top of the handle exactly where you grab to open the door. Myself as well several people have sliced their finger open pretty bad on my door handles. Very poor quality.

Front dashboard has two cracks. This is not due to sun damage or negligence. This is a product failure.

Dashboard cracks - the vehicles dashboard has several extensive cracks. This started occurring in 2011 and has gotten worse over the years. Now a section has completely broken off. The dealers refuse to address this.

The dashboard in the tahoe has cracked. The crack just showed up overnight. We went out one morning to go somewhere and the crack was there.

The wheel bearing broke.
