2008 chevrolet tahoe 4x4 v8 5.3l, check air bag light came on during a routine drive and no bags deployed. Checked with dealer and they wanted $300 to clear fault code b0083 for a front sensor. Looked online and many other gm vehicles have had similar issues with this safety related device. Since it is of safety concern and there has never been an accident with the vehicle i would like the nhtsa to investigate gm airbag sensor component failures of vehicles with less than 150k miles.

Takata recall.this recall has now been open for over 3 years and no fix available.this is unacceptable and needs to be handled asap.

I have an outstanding recall with no remedy available since 2016. I have imported the vehicle to canada and i'm unable to complete the import process due to this recall. I am unable to drive my vehicle as i am unable to obtain registration due to this outstanding recall. I want to know how long is chevrolet or takata going to take to complete this recall. 4 years seems long enough to complete the process. I want my vehicle fixed.

The dashboard on my 2008 tahoe is cracked and has become an issue because the cracks have made it to my passenger airbag and i am worried about my safety in case of an accident . I wouldn't want plastic flying everywhere and potentially kill someone.

I started up my 2008 chevrolet tahoe ltz on saturday and the dash cracked on the hump over the gauges. Vehicle is garage kept. Second owner to vehicle and i have never been in an accident.if air bags were to deploy could be effected. I haul my 3 children in my vehicle daily and i no longer feel safe.

Airbags have not been fixed due to parts not available it's been 3 yrs since! every time i call the dealer i get the same well we don't have any parts. You should be fine...because of that i haven't felt safe for my kids to be in a vehicle i love and paid so much for! so now it's just sitting or used by my husband but we have to be careful.

There is a crack in the dash that extends from the passenger side airbag area. I am concerned with the fact that if the airbag were to deploy it could propel plastic material into the cabin and at the passengers.

Takata recalli am the original owner of a 2008 tahoe lt 4wd and have contacted asheville chevrolet in asheville, nc on a couple of occassions regarding this airbag recall, most recently about 1 year ago when i noticed that the dash was starting to crack particuliarly two cracks near the passenger side airbag.the service manager came out and looked at the dash and advised me that this is a common problem with dash cracking in tahoe models and was not related to the takata recall but that there was also not a recall on the dash cracking around the airbag.i am a retired law enforcement officer that used to supervise a traffic safety unit and am a certified traffic crash reconstructionist, this problem with the dashboards cracking needs to be further investigated by nhtsa to determine if it is in fact related to the takata recall and escalate gm to replace the dashes and /or takata airbags if it is.

Takata recallno dealerships are making needed repairs to my defective takata airbag in my 2008 chevy tahoe i have called numerous dealerships they claim incomplete remedyi live in humid hot south florida, exactly what i understand to be the main underlying problem we are dealing with in this takata airbagif they cant fix it why cant they at least remove it before it causes us greatharm

Takata recall.between 2010/2011 side curtain airbags (front and back), deployed while operating vehicle in optimum driving conditions, after a passing over a pothole in the roadway. I was traveloing with my then [xxx] son and daughter. Imeediately took the vehicle into the dealership only to wait over a month, without a vehicle, and never given the option of a rental or loaner vehicle.as "chevrolet" investigated the on-board computer data, it falsely read that airbags deployed due to "rollover event" data was sent to the vehicles srs system. Chevrolet then deemed that i was driving over 95 mph (which is impossible due to the rev limiter), and i had oversized wheels on my vehicle. Wheel diameter and size were not the factor, as they were within 5/32"of oem stock dimensions. I was charged for "troubleshooting", as wewll as labor for the removal of the side airbags, andthey declined the claim. Additionally, i have hadto reyturn to the dealership to again "warranty" the ecm, bcm, window regulator (twice), as well as charging system faults. My extended warranty was again denied saying it was not within the parameters of the coverage. Full extended warranty, bumper to bumper and this was not covered? also, the dashboard front cowl is cracked (known defect, no recall), chrome peeling off interior door handle, as well as stabilitrak" computer errors and issues (known issue, no recall)parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Airbags did not deploy...updated 11/03/14updated 4/28/2015

Takata recall - we rec'd a recall notice back on july 2016 but the dealer has not rec'd the replacement parts.i contacted gm chevrolet and i understand gm is saying we are not at risk with the airbags based on their findings?why the recall? waiting on nhsta to change their decision on the recall?i'm confused...is there a recall or not?2 years and still no resolution?what would make the chevrolet tahoe takata air bags safe but the honda's we own, not safe and were replaced quickly by the dealer? my understanding is the chemical in the air bags breaks down...is there something special with the 2008 chevrolet tahoe where this does not occur?we live in georgia - high humidity!it should not take 2+ years to determine if the air bags should be replaced after a safety recall is issued...i hope they are safe...i am not sure who to believe.

Takata recall:the airbags have been under a recall for years but there is still no remedy.

Takata recall: on 11/14/2017 i learned that i can not sell or trade my 2098 chevy tahoe due to this recall. Furthermore gm district manager told me there is no fix and i will be stuck with my vehicle until a solution is found. Therefor i will loose money on the value of my vehicle.i would also like to bring to your attention that gm has faulty dashboards that crack, especially in 2008 chevy tahoe. Gm has acknowledged this flaw but it's not a recall because no one has been injured or killed yet due to the defective dashboards. I found online a news reporter named andy wise who invested this case and has all proofs as he can not report a news investigation without attorney review. He was able to get his client a free dashboard replaced. I went to my local dealership and played the video for the a service manager and he contacted the district manager. Gm alreadyvhas an open car claim for my vehicle. I received a phone call from the district service manager tonight who claims he is giving me a gift by paying for 50% of the repair cost. I shouldn't have to pay a dime. You should have many reports on file about crack gm or chevy dashboards. It was tonight i learned i can't even do a thing u til mybairbag recall is resolved and until that time i am stuck with a vehicle losing depreciation value every day. Please investigate and help us all out.

Takata recall - i have been trying since 2016 to get this remedied and keep being told that there is no current remedy for this. I just went to a chevy dealer this am and was told the same thing.

I am very frustrated that the following has not been resolved yet! i received notice in july of 2016 for the following: manufacturer recall number2049152nhtsa recall number16v383to date this is the status: recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet availablewhy has this taken so long?i purchased this vehicle due to the great testing qualities but very disappointed this is the quality i receive back from the manufacturers.please let me know what the hold up is on this and a tentative time it will be taken care of.thank you!

I already have a potential air bag recall #49152 that has not been resolved.additionally, i have had a cracked dashboard that cost 1,500.00 to repair, which i can't afford.my power folding mirrors have stopped working numerous times and now can not be fixed under warranty anymore.my radio had to be completely replaced.my vehicle has 29,550, and is a piece of junk.the roof is rusting out.g.m. Went bankrupt in 2008, which stopped the lease process.i got stuck with this vehicle and have been fearful of driving it.the low mileage reflects it.when will you as a government agency intercede and tell gm to make good on there defective products.no one cares, except the people that get rich selling these garbage vehicles!!!what are you waiting for someone to get a piece of cracked dashboard in there eye or worse, die in an accident caused by plastic flying into the drivers face.there are tons of complaints!!!just google it and watch the different news channels coverage of this massive defect.total disrespect of the customers/owners on from general motors.maybe next time they shouldn't get a government bailout, from my6 hard earned tax dollars!!!!

Takata recall: received notice in 2016 concerning the recall of the takata airbags. The notice came from gm.since the initial letter, i have received no follow up on the recall. Now i have received a notice of a lawsuit involving takata.they still have not replaced theairbags and have not had any communication from gm. About replacing the airbags.

Cracking dashboard. This has happened over time and cannot be attributed to the speed, direction, or orientation of the vehicle. I feel this can be a safety issue inhibiting the safe deployment of the airbags.

Safety recall on air bags that they can't fix and could cause death

There are very large cracks on my dash board, the worst one being around the airbag plastic cover on the passenger side of the dash! you can see under the cover showing all of the components under the dash! the crack that is on the drivers side is above the steering column running from the defroster to the top by the speedometer displays, etc! i feel as if these cracks, specifically the one on the passenger side, is a huge safety hazard! without crashing, there is no way of telling if the passenger side airbag will deflate properly due to this! i feel that to find this out, it should be at no ones expense! i have filed a complaint & a claim with gm a few months ago only to be told by the dealership that gm contacted on my behalf that the responsibility is mine if i wanted this problem to be fixed! the dealership informed me that it would cost $850 to $1000 to have the dash replaced! the dealership also said that they are very aware of this problem in the tahoes because they have replaced some dashes! gm is not taking any responsibility for their faulty equipment & refuse to issue a recall!there are thousands of other customers who i know for a fact that are also facing the same problems with their trucks & suvs! please do the right thing & issue a recall on these faulty & cheap made dash boards! thank you!

The dealer says they do not have the parts to replace the recalled air bags and do not know when they will get them.yesterday the computer flashed a warning to check air bag.

Dash has cracked in multiple places. First crack is on right side of dash, top left of the air bag panel. Second crack is on left side of dash over the instrument panel.most people don't think about a cracked dash being dangerous. However, if the airbags are deployed, fragments could become projectiles that can harm passengers. Chevrolet/gm needs to make this right.

There is a very large cracked area on the dashboard on the drivers side near the speedometer area. My concern is that this may some how deploy the air bag or other mechnical instruments in this area.

There are numerous cracks in the dashboard around the airbag.i am worried if the air bag will prematurely deploy, or will not be able to deploy as designed with the cracks.my vehicle is a 2008 tahoe ltz.there arecountless people with the same issue, with the crack in the same place.i have no idea what is going on with the electrically system and what the cracks might be doing.

I drove my vehicle in the morning and then parked it for about 2.5 hours. When i started my vehicle the gas gauge showed my car was empty, even though i had just recently filled up and had only gone about 80 miles on the tank, my airbag readiness light stayed on, and none of my gauges were functioning. Also, the light for the passenger air bag above my review mirror didn't illuminate at all. I drove it for a few seconds and tried turning it off and then back on, but nothing changed. After driving it for a few miles, i parked and turned the vehicle off again. When i turned it back on, everything began working again. I believe this is an electrical issue, but when taken to the dealership, i could not get it to replicate the issue. Besides the obvious danger of not having any gauges while driving, my fear is that the airbags would not work properly in an accident.

Cracked dashboard and instrument panel.

Takata recallno one can answer my questions.case reference: nhtsa11532841.gm had 2+ years to investigate the airbag they put in my vehicle.my question is: why nhtsa would allow them a time extension until the end of the year 2017.their time to investigate was granted an extension by nhtsa as per my call to nhtsa2.as the air bag on my car has never been deployed in the 10 years of ownership (contains original airbags installed in the gm janesville wi plant, never touched internally as the steering wheel has not been removed or the dashboard taken apart ). My question is: the tkholdings card states: "if your vehicle contains a defective or potentially defective airbag inflator and is under recall, contact your nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free repair."when dealer was contacted, he is still waiting for gm to finish the investigation and can not replace the airbag under the recall.which is true?will results happen before the december 27, 2017 date where i may be able to include myself as a "will suffer" (as i do not know the outcome of a accidental incident in advance of your 12/27/17 date to file a claim).observation: this sounds like the classic case of the governmental left hand not knowing what the governmental right hand is doing!attention nhtsa:i think someone should call me as to completion of the recall that gm is dragging their feet over. 724-654-0270 no response to my inquiry confirms to me that you are just as much at fault as gm or takata in the perpetuation of this recall and/or investigation.

A crack appeared recently on the dashboard starting at the corner of the passenger airbag.i just hope a friend or family member is not killed if i ever were to get in an accident.i see there have been quite a few complaints regarding this.why has gm ignored it and not started an investigation?

Takata recallit has been quite a few years since the announcement of the bag recall was made public, we still not heard back from gm or dealers when will they fix our problesm

My current 2008 chevrolet hybrid tahoe, vin# [xxx] has airbags included in the takata airbag recall, manufacturer recall number 2049152, nhtsa recall number16v383. The nhtsa has deemed these airbags have caused 16 deaths, and hundreds of serious injuries. Gm/chevrolet has stated the airbags are "safe" despite the nhtsa recall. I have contacted the nhtsa and they stated that the airbags in my vehicle need to be replaced, and in the interim until they are replaced no one should be allowed to ride in the front passenger seat of the vehicle due to potential risk of death from the airbag exploding without reason. This is an absolutely absurd, belligerent and unacceptable business practice gm is being allowed to engage in.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall. It's been two years and two months since i received this recall notice. The recall status says the remedy is not yet available. I been waiting too long for a repair of a potentially dangerous recall.

I received a letter dated july 2016 about the recall on my chevy tahoe's airbags. The manufacturer still does not have remedy. I'm concerned with driving this vehicle and the safety. Why can't this be corrected in a timely manner.

I was notified july 2016 by us mail that my vehicle is involved in gm recall 49152 for the passenger side takata airbag inflator. I have never recv'd any further communication from gm. I filed a complaint with nhtsa 4/10/19 (odi #11195391). I mailed requested docs to nhtsa 5/15/19. I have not heard back from anyone and the issue with the takata airbag inflator has not been addressed after 4 years of waiting for a remedy.

Takata inflatorsi went to national city, ron baker chevrolet for this matter and dealer ship said there is no such thing as a recall didnt want to replace my airbags. Pretty much my vehicle i cant sell because of this i a vehicle defected

Takata recall: gm announced the recall for the takata airbags on our 2008 chevrolet tahoe on may 27, 2016. I have called the dealer three times since this recall was announced and they say they have no guidance or parts from gm yet.one and a halfyears later and they still have no remedy? honda already has parts for their takata air bag recall available at the dealer. Gm should be taken to task for having no remedy after this length of time. They should at the very least remove these dangerous air bags from our cars immediately.

Takata recall, i cannot get the manufacturer to replace my defective air bag

Takata recall on my vehicle - why is taking so long to remedy this recall?i also have a few other issues i want to mention.i bought my tahoe in july 2016, my dash is cracking on the driver's side and from what i've read, this is very common and gm is ignoring the issue.my vehicle also started taking off on its own, took extra pressure to stop & rpm would fluctuate sporadically.after contacting a dealer, i was told there was campaign to replace the throttle body sensor but it had expired while the previous owner had possession and was told i'd have to pay for the repair and would possibly have to replace the throttle body.after replacing the sensor, my vehicle's rpm still fluctuates upon stopping and idle is rough.very upset chevrolet customer now.

Dashboard complete crack at left upper corner of passenger airbag cover dash plate.there is atakata airbag recall since 2016 that gm still has pending replacement.crack happened while vehicle was stationary in parking lot this summer. Since cold small hairline crack is now completly thru dash and pushed airbag dash cover up.i am afraid that if the vehicle gets jarred the bag will release.

I had just pulled up in the driveway at my residence heading inside an i heard a noise from the vechile! when i went to see the side airbagson both side deployed! i called insurance company and they didn't cover it so contacted gm an they decided to send someone out to the place where the truck was towed! now gm decided it was a electrical problem with the sensor an they gonna fix it! the truck could be ready anytime now they were waiting on a backorder part to come in. Im still thinking if this vehicle if safe for me an my family.

There has been a recall on my airbags for years. For about 2 weeks now my service airbag message has been on. It came on when i started my car one day and has remained there. The 2nd issue is something electrical. I can be driving and i'll lose all power and lights/radio for 5-20 seconds and then pop back on. That has happened numerous times. Or i'll get out of my car and go to lock it and have no power. Both times that has happened , i popped the hood and the power came back on without me doing anything.

Takata recall - nothing has happened but notice in may 2016.dealer says they can't get parts from gm.

"takata recall" the service airbag light is on in my 2008 chevrolet tahoe and when i called a gm dealership they said there isn't anything that they can do about it because the remedy is not yet available.however my vehicle wont pass inspection until the light is off and airbags are fixed.i received my letter from gm about this recall in 2016 and it stated that they wouldn't fix it unless the light came on and now that the service light is on i feel unsafe to drive it and worry about inspection when it comes due.

Takata recall - i received a notice of air bag recall on my 08 tahoe and every time i go to the dealer and ask for it be corrected they tell me the repair hasn't been authorized and i just recently received the chapter 11 notice for tk holdings... Wo i'm wondering is anyone taking responsibility for this repair? so at the moment i'm driving an unsafe vehicle! and nobody is taking action on this matter.

Takata recallseveral years without a solution.

Takata recall.many years and no action to resolve this matter.unable to sell due to outstanding recall.

Noticed two sizeable cracks in the dashboard, one of which is right near the airbag. I researched the issue and noticed there are several other tahoe owners that are experiencing the same thing and that it is a defect in the dashboard. The cracks seem to be getting bigger and i'm concerned pieces of the dashboard will splinter creating flying projectiles if the airbag were to ever deploy.

All six side airbags on our 2008 chevrolet tahoe deployed while my wife was driving the vehicle with our two children in their rear car seats.there was no impact, bump, pot-hole or any other reason apparent to us why the airbags deployed.it was completely random.no one was injured and my wife maintained control of the vehicle to a safe stop, but she was stunned and disoriented.the damage to our vehicle is extensive.in addition to replacing six airbags, light fixtures, plastic molding, the roof panel and fabric/liner are all damaged.at this point, the dealer is not helping at all.we have contacted gm but they have not responded after 2 days.we believe this is not only a product liability issue that gm should repair, but also a major safety issue.we are all very fortunate that this did not result in a single or multi-vehicle accident, injuries related to the accident, or injuries related to the airbag deployment.we need help to ensure gm addresses this issue proactively, before someone is seriously injured or killed.

Takata recall - our vehicle had a recall on 07/06/2016,we went to renew registration at dmv and they wouldnot give of tags to place on plate due to airbag recall. I had to get a temporary red card for vehicle which eventually would expire. Since august 2016 every other month i called puente hills dealer and chevrolet customer assistance center to get vehicle serviced. Either one had information as when the parts would be available for repairs. It is now 04/04/2017 and still no parts and no tags for my vehicle. Last night i got pulled over for no tags. I provided receipt of payment for registration and all documents on recall and temporary registration, the officer was nice enough to let me go. He did mention vehicle can be towed away. I called puente hills chevrolet dealership this morning to schedule service for recall and rene rodriguez told me parts are not available and that they have not been able to fix any vehicles on this recall due to no parts since the recall notice 07/2016. I also spoke to customer service and they were not able to help me. They would like me to get in writing from dmv why i can not get my tags.

I have tried many times to get my airbagsreplaced or whatever needs to be done for several years but am always advised that it can't be done at this time

Received recall notice in july of 2016 and called dealer and they stated that they did not have the parts to fix the problem.called again in june 2017 and dealer stated same no replacement at this time. Received a notice 11/9/17 and stating that the recall is still active and need to register with tk restructuring so i can file a claim if something were to happen in the future if my airbags fail.i want my vehicle fixed now!i should not worry while driving if they will deploy and kill me or a family member.the manufacturer of the airbags and gm should be held liable and remedy this situation yesterday!!!!!nhtsa recall # is 16v383,gm recall #49152

Multiple dash cracks around steering column and more concernedly around passenger air bag.this is separate from the airbag recall that currently exists.the dash being cracked around this particular point would cause vinyl shrapnel to be sent throughout the cabin of the vehicle presenting a serious safety hazard.this is the only place on the vehicle these cracks are happening even though much of the interior is finished with this same type of vinyl.

Having a car that i spent so much on and maintaining it cause i love it but i can't even drive it since i don't feel we as a family is safe. I wasted over $40k for it to just be there...cause who knows what can happen with that airbag.

Takata recall" -- gm recall #2049151; nhtsa #16v381. I live in southern oregon where it is very humid and can also get very hot, both of these conditions are listed by the manufacturer to increase the rate at which the airbags can degrade. This recall is over two years old, repair or replacement should exist by now. I have contacted the dealership in my area multiple times, only to be told each time, that there is no remedy for this problem. I would consider trading my vehicle in and getting something safer, but due to this unresolved recall, the value of my vehicle has been diminished. This is my second complaint to the nhtsa.

Dash cracking around passenger airbag

The dashes on a significant number of 1500-3500 series tahoe, suburban, yukon, sierra and silverado model vehicles from gm are cracking all over the dash.the cracks are located specifically around the passenger airbag causing a safety issue for vinyl shrapnel being launched at passengers in the cabin upon airbag deployment.this is similar to the crisis faced by toyota.gm is neglecting the safety of its customers by allowing this to occur.the number of vehicles experiencing the exact same cracks, down to the size and exact location, constitutes a design flaw in the location of the mounting points which is causing uneven distribution of weight as well as point stresses.if this piece was properly engineered it would distribute stress and flex properly to avoid the plastic mode of failure to which they are currently experiencing.updated 12/12/2017

Takata inflators.i was contacted several times over the past 2 years that my vehicle was part of the recall.everytime i have contacted the dealer i was told there was be remedy it this time. It seems that gm is holding out in performing the recall on a large amount of their consumers.this hasent been fixed in a timely manner.they have had plenty of time to prepare and complete the recall they are just dragging it out.my wife and i are now stuck with a vehicle that could possibly cause bodily harm or death.we can't even sell the vehicle because of the open recall and without gm fixing the recall people don't want to purchase a vehicle that could possibly kill them.i would like to see that gm is held accountable and perform the recall as soon 🔜 as possible.and if for some reason they can't perform the recall as soonas possible they should have to pay retribution to those that are affected by this recall.vehicles are very expensive and consumers work really hard to be able to purchase these vehicles.it is time to give the consumers that are affected by this recall something for their money.

Recall on 5/27/2016when may i expect service to b completeddeaths are climbing

Takata recallthis recall has been in a pending status since may of 2016. That is over a year of driving with a potential safety risk. This is very concerning when i have a passenger in my car %90 of the time. I also have an air bag notification on my vehicle notification center. Basically i dont have a functioning airbag in my passenger side

Takata recall - recall issued may 2016 and still no remedy available according to gm website.recall is now 3 years old.

My dash has cracked above the gauge cluster and above the passenger airbag.

Cracked dashboard that affects airbags and electric wiring associated to dash and dashboard components.causes visual images on windshield when driving making it a hazardous situation.there is two cracks on this dash which over time will cause tremendous issues with safety issues associated to the wiring and safety airbags.

Dash cracked in two places, driver and passenger side. Concerned more about passenger side due to air bag. The vehicle is not my everyday vehicle with very low mileage and kept inside its whole life in an well insulated fully covered garage.

"takata recall" -- gm recall #2049152;nhtsa #16v383.my chevrolet tahoe is now 8.5 years old.according to my information, if vehicle is more than 6 years old, it should be a priority for replacement or repair.our chevrolet should be on top of recall list.although not consistent throughout the year, periods of hot and humid weather exists where i live; this condition, as stated in the recall, can add to the increase degradation of the airbag.since i am now having to park the vehicle outside (instead of a garage), the increase risk has increased.recall is almost two years old.repair or replacement should exist by now.chevrolet has ignored my requests for this recall repair.this is my second complaint to the hntsa

The dash has severely cracked in numerous places including near the passenger air bag which i fear could create shrapnel if involved in a collision and the airbag inflates. This has gradually worsened over time.

Takata recall - there has been a very serious and dangerous recall involving the airbags of my vehicle that have not been able to be repaired or replaced as of today's date, january, 8, 2018.this has been an open recall since may 2016. I am reluctant to drive my vehicle due to the possibility of serious injury or death caused by a device that is there to help protect us in case of an accident.

I have been waiting to have my airbags replaced for over 3 to 4 years now. The airbags are extremely a safety hazard due to the fact that they can deploy at any given time. I have a grand child that i transport and i am scored for her safety in that vehicle. This is sad how long this has been unremedied. Please help!

Takata recall no remedy availabletaking a long time to come to remedy

The dash board o the vehicle is cracking all around the takata recall airbags.the cracks are spidering across the dash, there are so may complaints with this dash board cracking and it is a safety issue if the airbags go off the dash board is likely to shatter and potentially be a projectile causing injury or death. This should be invesitigated and be a recall.you will find thousands of vehicle have this problem,gm is aware and its all over facebook and online.just google tahoe cracked dashboard and look for yourself. Thank you for investigating this matter

I purchased my chevy tahoe in july 2013. I was only the second owner. I did not notice right away but the dash board was cracked above the cluster. Since i purchased the card i have used a sun shade to protect the interior of the car. Since i purchased the car there has been another crack located at the passenger airbag. My main concern is if i were to get into an accident would the dash stay intact or would the cracked pieces then become similar to shrapnel? i have contacted gm customer service regarding this, all they did was set up an appointment with my local dealership and did not explain the problem. I was then contacted by the local dealership and after some time was told that there was nothing they could do for me other than paying for the repair out of pocket. They claimed it was due to the fact that i am not the original owner and my mileage is too high. However on numerous on-line forums there have been different stories and amounts people are being charge for replacing this item that is a known problem. This problem effects 2007 - 2013 tahoe, silverado, yukon, denali, sierra and suburban.

Dash, radio lights not working

The company i work for purchased four 2008 tahoes new.all have had door lock problems.mine just happened on both driver side doors and it cost $741 to have fixed today at chevy dealer.i believe the other 3 tahoes were under warranty at the time, but not sure.the tahoe i drive was not under warranty.as others have said, you cannot unlock the rear doors since there is no key, and the manual button is not near the pillars so you cant reach it from the front doors.its a bad situation if you needed to access the rear doors.

When driving i hear a winding sound in my speakers when i accelerate. My radio is off when this happens. Also my drivers seat belt will not stay latched. Keeps coming updone when correctly fastened.

I took my 2008 tahoe in for a dead battery it's been 4 months in were on the 5th battery every time i get into my tahoe i don't know if it's going to start. On the last one it was scary i was driving on the highway at about 70 mph when the stability trac light came on and then my car shut down pulled over to the side and the car was dead had it towed to the dealer and the car started with no problem, i refuse to take the car and i called gm tech support and they took over my case with the dealer directly after 8 days at the dealer the gm tech calls me and said there was a bulletin tac #10288937 to replace all battery cables on the car, positive & negative battery cables, starter cables, alternators cables, and cables that go to the main fuse block. I've had my car back now for 1 week and so far it starting good. If my problem still continues to occur i will have no chose but to file for lemon law.

I have taken my 2008 tahoe ltz to the gmc dealership multiple times to repair the door locks / outer door handles.i have had two of the door locks replaced because they will not unlock when i hit the unlock button on the doors or the key fob. This is a major defect in this vehicle. It is a safety conern because i have a small child and i am afraid if i were to have an accident and i try to unlock the doors they will fail and i will be unable to get my child out without crawling over the front seats to manually unlock the lock.the same with the outer door handles breaking.i have had two of those replaced. I had to crawl over the passenger seat at one point to be able to get in the vehicle until i could get it to the dealership. I have searched the internet and see there are several complaints about these issues, yet there are no recalls.please help us.

This is the 3rd time this happens to my vehicle and i get it repaired. When i got my tahoe with 0 miles it already had this problem and i had it fixed, i thought no big deal of it. Then with time i find out it is a common problem with my vehicle. I did some research and this is a very common and pricey problem. The door locks on my tahoe go out, they don't go up or down automatically and this is an issue to me because i have children in the back with an unlocked car. Three of my doors are currently out and i don't have $940 to fix it. My passengers are not safe because the door locks are a major problem. Please help us out!

The power door locks do not work.you have to manually lock them.they are suppose to automaticaly lock when the vehicle reaches 5 miles an hour for safety and they do not.one door lock was replaced under warrenty without my knowledge but now the other 3 are not working properly.the mechanic said that this has been a known problem with the tahoes.it is over $200.00 per door to replace.this vehicle is not even 5 years old and is under 30,000 miles.

This year model has a serious defective problem with the gas accelerator malfunctioning. I have spoken to dozen of friends and family with this year model and above an all have problems with the gas pedal. This will lead to someone being killed if not addressed by the builder of the truck. The pedal sticks when driving ,thus causing you to acceleratewhen driving. I havealmost ran into the vehicle in front of me. I have asked family and friends with the same type of truck and they too have has this problem.

Failure of all four power door locks on my 2008 tahoe.at almost exactly 3 years and 30,000 miles of ownership, the door locks of my, purchased new, 2008 tahoe ltz began to fail.all four locks failed within 12 months of each other.the vehicle had less than 40,000 miles and four years of service at the last and final (4th) failure.concern: (#1) there is only one manual keyed entry located on the vehicle which is the drivers door.in the event of an emergency and total electronic lock failure, the only passenger door access would be through the drivers door utilizing the key and manual lock/unlock feature.if the manual lock were to also fail, there would be no way to gain access to the vehicle through any of the four passenger doors.restricted access to the vehicle could cost the life of a child, adult passenger or pet trapped in the vehicle.the system could be designed safer with a redundant manual lock located on another door.additionally, the electronic locking mechanisms currently installed are inadequate and unsafe.the common failure of these systems eliminates the argument of electronic redundancy for the system since the installed product is faulty and unreliable.why should we be forced to accept these unsafe products/designs on our vehicles?concern: (#2)the cost of replacing a lock has been quoted between $250 to $450 per lock from different facilities.the pricing may influence a generally safe mined person to postpone a repair which impacts theredundancy feature of the electronic system.note: these locks typically begin to fail immediately after the warranty expires.and, gm corporation is unwilling to help with the cost and wasted time to deal with the issue.further investigation by the nhtsa is warranted and i feel a recall should be mandated.

The auto door locks went out on my 2008 chevy tahoe lt just after 36,000 miles.the dealer wants to charge me $500 to fix it.there appears to be many gm vehicles with this same problem. This is a safety issue with children in the vehicle. A recall needs to be issued on the auto door locks.

All ip warning lamps illuminated, loss of power, stalling, gage fluctuation, intermittent door lock operation. Vehicle was in motion on highway when this occurred. Error codes include u0073, u0121m u0101, u0242 ( from dealership analysis). Cause unknown. Vehicle has been in dealership more than 7 weeks without cause of problem not isolated. Technician stated crackling sound when grasping wiring in dashboard area. Loss of communication between control module and various components occurs within one (1) to five (5) seconds. Chevrolet issued tech bulletin #08-07-30-021e. Dealership has followed this bulletin without correcting the problem.

I currently own a 2008 chevy tahoe. Today 1-17-13 , i had to have the power door lock actuator replaced for the 5th time on this vehicle. Every door has been affected at least once with today being the right rear door having to be replaced for a second time. From what i have read numerous times online , this seems to be a recurring problem for the gm suv products starting with the 2007 model years. Gm has yet to address this issue with a recall , however i feel as well as many other owners of these vehicles that this could cause a serious issue if the vehicle is hit from the side or a water related accident occurred with the vehicle being submerged and not being able to get out. 1 or 2 instances in a 4.5 year period i could understand but 5 in a 4.5 year period involving every door is not a coincidence. The replacement cost is well in excess of $200 and as such i can understand why gm would be reluctant to act. Does it have to take a death or 2 for gm to realize that this is a serious issue and needs to be addressed. If you build a vehicle such as this and charge in excess of $50,000 , then i as the purchaser have every reason to expect that these types of issues would be resolved by using quality parts and not junk. Please investigate this issue and you will find a whole lot of customers of these products who are highly upset and want something done to resolve this serious issue. Thank you.

When traveling above 30 mph then decelerating, once the car gets to around 15-20 mph it jumps forward. It's similar to when you drive a stickshift and take your foot off the clutch and the car jumps forward as if it might stall. It doesn't happen regularly.if i decelerate very quickly, then it does not do it. If i decelerate slowly then it does not do it. It has to be somewhere in between and the car is confused between staying in gas mode or switching to hybrid mode and auto stop. The car then jumps forward when confused.

The doors on my vehicle still fill up with water and switches have shorted out. It is an ongoing problem and i have to check for water in the doors every time it rains. The 2010 date is when the dealer first replaced shorted switches in the door. The dealer said it was a rare occurrence at the time, but now there is a major recall for similar problems, but the tahoe is not included.

While driving the vehicle, the stopped blowing and then begin to start blowing about 20minutes later. The vehicle also begin to smell of smoke at one point. The control buttons for the rear passenger windows stop working. The speakers begin to go in/ out of play and the rear windows would only work from the driver's door control. The window button then begin to control the level that the hat would blow at. Door controls stop working for some doors at a stop and the door would only open from the outside. After starting the vehicle, the door would then begin to work again. Electrical controls for the child proof were inoperable for backseat passengers. Speakers going in/ out of play while driving and the heater blower also going in/ out of working condition. Window control would make the speakers come on/ off at times. Battery would be drain from electrical problems and need a jump-off to begin back working. Battery, starter and alternator checks at dealership were perform with no problems noted but vehicle would still do unfamiliar things such as heater blower, speakers and control switches performing at their own times. Heater voltage draining the battery and also causing electrical problems. Vehicle will not perform as expected due to malfunctions of electrical modules and unknown control modules affecting the heater, speakers, windows and doors.

Vehicle won't start, dashboard lights all activated randomly, battery not problem, all electrical not working, windshield wipers randomly activated.vehicle towed to dealership.this is the second time this has happened in 2 months.last time, battery was jumped and car worked for 2 months. Battery checked 2 different times after, battery is good.had doorlock problems 5 times since purchase of this vehicle in 2008.covered under warranty first 4 times, and reimbursed on 5th time.this vehicle has had multiple electrical, sensor problems since purchase.i have never had this many problems with chevy before.reading other comments, this seems to be an issue for others as well.is there a recall for this problem?doesn't seem like other customers have received satisfaction with their issues either.what is chevy doing to resolve?vehicle is at chevy dealer now, awaiting response.if this was to occur while driving and all electrical shut off, this would be an accident waiting to happen.

While i was driving the air conditioner blower quit blowing and today when i went to a dealer for help he told me how to diagnose the fan relay, but it performed correctly.he also told me that he has seen before on the tahoes the a/c fan harness has melted before on this type of vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that after taking the vehicle to the dealer for nhtsa campaign number: 10v240000, (electrical system), the contact was informed that the heated washer module would be permanently disabled and removed from the vehicle. The contact indicated that by removing the heated washer fluid module from the vehicle, he would be unable to remove ice from the windshield during icy weather conditions. The heated washer module was an added expense when the vehicle was purchased. The dealer confirmed that they would not honor the recall repair until they revised the vehicle so that no one could install any type of heated washer modules in the vehicle. The contact requested that the dealer replace the module with a nhtsa approved replacement module but the dealer refused. The contact had not experienced a failure.remailed customer request 11/06/2014*lj

The door lock actuator has failed on my 08 chevy tahoe on 3 different occasions. The first time it was the driver side rear door. The two other times were the driver's door. Chevrolet replaced the actuator the first 2 times because it was under warranty.

While at a stop light or stop sign, while engine is on, at a complete stop while the vehicle accelerates the gas the vehicle completely conks out. The vehicle cannot catch speed after it comes to a stop. I am stuck in the middle of traffic at the light or at the stop sign.check engine light is on.

Dash has 2 large cracks above the instrument panel and another one at the passenger airbag. During operation, stabilitrak light comes on, all gauges go to zero, doors begin locking/unlocking, vehicle loses power, radio goes out and clock resets, lights flash, and battery dies as soon as ignition is turned off.numerous calls to gm and visits to dealership.no fix as of yet.this has been going on for years.now odometer has reset to zero.

First problem was the vehicle would not crank. The vehicle had to be jumped off and then it cranked quickly. While driving the vehicle, the window control, speakers and heater would go in/ out of operation. The speakers in all four doors would go out then come back on at different times. Sometimes they would work all at once, other times one, two or even three may come on and off. The heater would come on blowing some times then cuts off again and again. The heater blower would also blow at one speed then blow at another speed without anyone changing the settings. The window controls will make the heater blow stronger, then when the window control is released it will cut the heater off. The rear passenger window controls will not work at all. The rear passengers also can not get out of the vehicle. The vehicle has to be open from the outside for individuals sitting in the second row seats. The only control that will work the rear passenger windows is the driver side control. The vehicle also has a light smoke smell coming from the vents. The passenger side door in the front will open for the passenger sometimes then at other times someone will have to open the door from the outside. The vehicle will not crank back up after been cut off, it always has to be jumped off. The battery is drained everytime the vehicle is sitting down and not being operated. The vehicle was taken to the dealership numerous times without being fixed. Gm corporation was called and i was informed a recall was on some vehicles but not others. I was told that my vehicle was not listed as one thou. The dealership checked my vehicle and informed me that my vehicle didn't have any issues but then on a second request they informed me that my vehicle had a bad battery and was having firing trouble. They also informed me that i was not covered by my warranty.

I have had my 2008 chevy tahoe to the dealers 4 times due to stabilatrack light comes on, then my windows continue to click brake lights quit working windows won't roll up or down and sometimes the vehicle will not start.on the third time they said it was the mega fuse and replaced it. Everything seemed fixed. I parked the car in the garage and pulled it out approximately 7 months later to get to my shelves and when i went to pull it back in the same situation happened again. I have not taken back to the dealer yet due to the extreme costs that i have continued to pay the previous time for it not to be fixed..it effects the complete electrical system to the vehicle.

Cracked dashboard that affects airbags and electric wiring associated to dash and dashboard components.causes visual images on windshield when driving making it a hazardous situation.there is two cracks on this dash which over time will cause tremendous issues with safety issues associated to the wiring and safety airbags.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the theft system failed to deactivate intermittently. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated while driving an approximate speed of 30 mph, there was a burning smell in the vehicle and immediately, she noticed there was smoke emitting from the general console area. There were flames coming from the cigarette lighter.the contact moved the vehicle off the roadway and attempted to extinguish the fire, but to no avail. The fire department arrived and was able to extinguish the fire. A fire report was filed and the vehicle was towed to a local repair facility where the contact was awaiting further inspection of the failure. The cause of the failure had not been determined. The failure and current mileages were 40,000.

2008 chevrolet tahoe. Consumer writes in regards to defective remote door locks *tgwthe consumer stated the remote door lock for the front passenger door was replaced under warranty on 06/03/11. However, on 05/21/12, the remote door lock for the front driver's side had to be replaced. The dealer replaced the lock actuator/latch assembly.

The door locks have gone out on my 2008 tahoe approximately 6 months ago.our children cannot open the doors to get in our out of the vehicle.the only door that will currently work is the driver door, which only works with the key.the tahoe has a factor installed alarm system / key fob system, and does not control the doors to lock or unlock.you have to use the key to unlock the driver door, then manually open the passenger and rear doors from the inside, as well as manually lock them from the driver side.

The front a/c&heater blower fan quit working, and now it and the rear blower quit blowing again. The first time it happened the front blower electrical connector was completely melted.

Power locks are failing for second time after replacing.the actuators do not last over 2 years.each door costs $300 to repair.there are thousands of posts on the internet with this problem in multiple models and years.this needs to be a recall.

My 2008 chevy tahoe ltz electrical system would go through a series of phases either when i try to start it up during a cold day or when i am on the highway. This leads to my vehicle either not starting or while driving not being able to maintain speed because the transmission begin to slip. It can also die without warning and the "check engine light" would come on for a while and can disappear after starting up again. I have taken my vehicle to the same service adviser/manager each time i experience this problem and also called gmac to get them involved to be told that they can not duplicate this problem. When ever the codes are pulled, there could be at least 7 at a time. I called gmac went i experienced this for the fourth time and my case number was 71-1326091502 issued on 07/02/2014. Today my case number is [xxx] which was issued on 11/30/2016. I had many other number in between and custom service personnel (gmac) attempt to assist me and the results in the past has been the same each time.however, my vehicle continue to be unsafe. I feel that no one really care but are going through the phases to say that they have done all they can do. My vehicle started to give me this problem at about 107,000 miles, right after my 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warrantyexpired which cost about $2400.00. My vehicle also have a total of about nine plus (problem more) months in the shop at the chevrolet dealership over time where i purchased this vehicle with no results at the end of each trip but it was taken back for the same thing each time. I feel as if every one is just coving themselves by mouth work whether than by actions. All i know is that this vehicle seem to be a "lemon" and no one has the courage to say so. My vehicle is at al serra chevrolet north, colorado springs, co. 80920. There # is [xxx]. My # is [xxx]. Thanks for your time. [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Automatic door lock stop working on driver side then passenger side front door went out one month later.

All of the indicators in the instrument cluster sometimes read '0' upon initial startup.sometimes by turning the ignition off, withdrawing the key, and open/close the door then restarting the vehicle the problem corrects itself.however this procedure may be repeated up to 15 times before problem is corrected or, more often, it isn't corrected.

Rear passenger door electric lock actuator failed resulting in no way to open the door without manually unlocking it from the inside. In the even of an emergency, there would be no way to open the door from outside of the vehicle or from the lock switch on the driver door. In addition, there is no key lock on this door from the outside. I have learned that this is a very common problem on 2008 chevrolets, which has cost consumers a huge amount of money in addition to subjecting them to serious safety concerns. I was the victim of a theft when a passenger did not manually lock the door and several days later when i was parked in a parking garage someone entered my vehicle and stole personal property. This would not have occurred if the lock actuator had functioned properly and locked the door when i locked the others. To date, chevrolet has acknowledged this issue but refused to do anything to correct it without an approximate charge of $300 - $400 per door.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the rear driver side door could not be unlocked from the outside of the vehicle manually or remotely. The contact indicated that the defect was repaired by the dealer but the failure recurred. The contact also indicated that the arm rest console with climate control for the rear seats became very hot to the touch. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

I bought this vechicle as a used car in june 2010.before i left the dealership with the car i had to request that one door lock be fixed because it was not locking automatically.that door was fixed (driver side back door).since then i am having trouble with the passenger side rear door and the driver door not locking on a consistent basis.the driver door seems to lock and unlock correctly part of the time when the weather is cool; however, in the afternoons and during hot weather, the door very seldom responds to the automatic locking/unlocking.after reviewing this website, it is apparent that this make and model of vehicle has been reported to have consistent problems with the locking system that the manufacturer has not been required to address at their expense.consumer safety laws should apply to locking systems that do not function properly.a known safety hazard is unlocked doors during impacts.since this vehicle is problematic in this regard, the manufacturer should be responsible for not only providing improved parts but, also, for replacing those parts at the manufacturer's expense.

I have had all four doors in for repair at one time or another. First it was the rear left door which would not open from the outside. Same door still does/does not open. Second door was theright rear which dropped down when you opened it. Third door was the drivers door which would not open. Had to insert car key to open. Fourth door was the front passenger door which would not open. Each time the door lock actuator was changed. But now i'm still having trouble with the left rear door sometimes opening, sometimes not opening. If i had a child in a infants seat in that rear seat, i may or may not be able to get to him/her in a emergency. I believe this is a safety problem.

The door actuators went out on my car. The vehicle is all factory settings. I believe it is a manufacturer issue or electrical. Doors not lock using key fob or power locks button. Have to manually lock.

1. Door locks failed. Have been replaced multiple times. As a result, my [xxx] old baby got locked in the car in 100 degree weather in august. It continues to be an issue and often i have to resort in climbing through the back tailgate. 2. Stabilitrack and traction control lights flash. Sometimes after these lights flash, my vehicle will go into "reduced power mode" on its on which is very dangerous going 65 mph or pulling out from somewhere. 3.my wipers work when they want to...ever since the two recalls chevrolet released, the work intermittently when they want to.4. Major electrical issues with these vehicles....i have replaced the battery four times and something continues to drain it. "takata recall" my 08 tahoe's instrument panel and gauges are failing to work at times. My speed gauge, gas and rpm gauge just stopped working. They started back, but i think it's a safety issue due to the fact i was driving it when it happened. I am just trying to find out and report the problem. The oil gauge never came back on, is there anyway you shed some light on this issue? i was driving on the highway when everything started.

Hi i purchase 2008 chevy tahoe brand new. How i called last year to gm support as for this my door lock problem. They told me we will take care of this just take it to nearest dealer which was 220 miles away from where i live. ( and i was told they will take care of it. ) support dept got me an appointment set everything up.i drove in to dealership they look at all my complains. And got me quote for all the repair needs to be perform. Door lock problem is a know issue to gm i am not the only one who's affected. But dealership told us. That gm would not pay for repair. How would you feel drive 220 miles and get quote in your okay it's going to be $480 per door to fixed. My question if was not going to take care of this repair why would send me to dealership to have fixed.that trip cost me over 300 bucks not to mention all of the frustration involved.wasted my 1 1/2 days. I have been watching people complaining on edmunds and gm is answering emails.but none of them is getting any help, if gm is not going to stand behind of their product why would respond to emails. This is not done. I happened 2 months after warranty was expired. I bought my truck when gm was in trouble. I don't think that these giant company's care.that does tells me one thing stay away from gm. I would own another gm product in future or ever and pass on this to others. One thing i would like point is that. This door lock problem gm should look into little too closely. This is safetyissue. It should recalled and have it fixed immediately without any further delays. Thanks

Tamara recall car just shut down machane say electiial turn car off would not strat backin my yard

While the vehicle is in motion, the door locks begin to cycle (up and down), the clock resets itself to twelve, static runs through the radio, the console lights (lighting, engine ck, stability control) flicker on and off and the transmission downshifts at will. The effect on the transmission is of particular concern because at highway speeds the vehicle abruptly slows down causing a potential hazard for the driver, its occupants, and others. Once the vehicle ignition is turned off, all power inside, dome lights, radio, etc turn off and the vehicle will not restart until the battery cable is moved back and forth and a connection is reestablished. This is the second time i have taken the vehicle to the dealer and they have been unable to replicate the malfunction.

The passenger side factory installed trailer wiring harness is defective because it is pushed in under and to the rear of the spare tire.accident - coming onto highway 152 with a trailer, which is a left lane entry onto a two lane headed east.everything inside was working; passenger side signal was indicating properly, but unknown to me the signal was not working on the trailer.as i moved over to the outside lane to give faster vehicles room to pass in the fast lane (left) the car behind me did not see my signal (because it was not working on the trailer, but was on the tahoe) and had to slam on his breaks and skidded darn near into me.this is really dangerous and is a flaw in the manner in which the wiring harness is squeezed into the tiny space at the rear of the spare tire.i traced all the wiring and it is in the harness since i could not get a current flow reading from the connector/tit that is for the passenger side signal and stop lights. Yes, i did check the fuse and it is fully functional.i fully expect to hear from you since i cannot find a satisfactory place to call chevrolet;all they want to do is sell you another vehicle.thanks.

To whom it may concern;i am writing because we have problems with the door locks on our 2008 chevy tahoe.we have had a problem with the door locks in the past as we have had to literally climb out of the window to get out of the vehicle.it happened while on a boat ramp so it was an incredibly memorable event. We have been experiencing problems with the door locks again and took the vehicle to the chevy service this morning.their customer service rep called us to let us know that all 4 door locks needed to be replaced. The charges are $350 for the front doors and $250 for the back doors.needless to say we are not happy about having to pay for any additional door lock work on this vehicle.the vehicle has only 70,000 miles.this problem is huge considering that you can not get out of the car once a lock completely fails in that you have to climb out of the window to get out of the car.we request that a recall be initiated as soon as possible.

5/31/2011 driver door lock actuator failed, door wouldandalarm would not set.fixed under warranty. Rear leftand front right failed within a year.both were replaced at no charge out of warranty at 45000 miles, approx.october 23 2012, rear right lock actuator failed. Not sure how long it was not working, but the vehicle was parked and driven with the door unlocked, unknown to me. I find this to be a very unsafe condition, and with the number of complaints on this issue i'm surprised no injuries have been reported.thefts, kids opening moving vehicle door, carjacking are all things that come to mind.why is there no recall?clearly a safety issue, and not isolated to just a few vehicles.

The locking mechanism on my chevy tahoe 2008 ltz no longer works on the passenger side door. The electronic lock/unlock door mechanism no longer locks or unlocks the passenger door as well as the key remote no longer locks or unlocks the front passenger door. It sounds like from reading the other numerous complaints regarding this issue i can expect the rest of the door locks to quit operating at some point. This is obviously a real safety concern.

I own a 2008 chevrolet tahoe 4x4, i purchased itwith 80000 miles on it. When i start the car or i am driving all my gauges on my instrument cluster pass beyond the maximum level, even my speedometer sometimes i will be going 40mph but it is marking 80mph. My temperature gauge, my battery gauge, my fuel indicator gauge, even my oil pressure gauge stopped working. The worst part is that my prndl and info center also disappear while i am driving and they re- sometimes after few minutes sometimes for days. The dealer said they have no fix for this, other mechanics said that gm has this issue on most of their trucks and suvs. I think this issue is very unsafe for drivers especially when all your gauges stop working or work improperly or disappear from your screen, i believe this can be dangerous to drivers as well as other people on the road and gm should find a fix for it. Thank you

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaignnumber: 10v240000 (electrical system); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the engine warning indicator illuminated, the radio turned off on its own, and other lightning in the vehicle began to flicker. The contact replaced the battery, but the failures recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall.i have received two recall notice in the mail and took them to my dealer that i get services done, and they keep tell me that they don't have the repair part.i contacted chevrolet cooperate head quarter and spoke to them regarding these letters, and all they say is that they know about the recall, but no parts is available for my vehicle yet.

Passenger side door lock started having problems. Would work occasionally. Now, it won't work at all. Has to be manually pulled up to unlock and pushed down to lock. I noticed over 450 complaints from others about the actuators going out on theirs too. Seems to be a problem.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that he received recall notice 10v240000 (electrical system). The contact stated that the remedy, which was to disconnect the heated washer fluid module, was a safety concern because in his state, there were icy road conditions and the heated wiper fluid was necessary. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The current mileage was 31,481. The failure mileage was approximately 31,200.

After vacating the car through the front driver's side door, the electric door locks on the rear doors did not operate while my grandchildren were in the tahoe. The doors would not unlock either with the fob or the electric switch in the tahoe. This incident was very scary and could have been serious. Fortunately, i was able to reenter the tahoe through driver's door, start the car, lower the rear windows, manually unlock the doors, and remove my grandchildren. Had this been an emergency, serious problems could have occurred. As a result of this problem, which has recurred many times, i am not willing to drive with my grandchildren in the tahoe, unless an adult is available to accompany them in the rear seat.

I have a 2008 chevy tahoe ltz and the door locks just quit working one day.on all 4 doors!! the key fob will not lock or unlock the doors nor will the lock or unlock button in the car will work. I feel this is a major safety concern. What if you are stopped at a red light with no way to lock your doors and someone jumps in your car with you with a gun!i have two small children and this is a major concern for me! please issue a recall for the door locks.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, while depressing on the brake pedal the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that the abs, brakes, traction control and stability trac warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated he was able to come to a slow stop. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed of an unknown electronic issue. The contact called the local dealer chevrolet of montebello (310 w whittier blvd, montebello, ca 90640, (323) 271-3453) and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.

I have owned this tahoe for about 6 months now and i am going to replace the second door lock actutor now. I have done some research and this seems to be a chronic problem. This really is a safety issue for several reasons. When the first one failed it was the drivers front door, it failed in an unlocked position. Thats great, we could still open the door. But so could a carjacker! we drove this way for a month before we found that the drivers door didn't lock.now we are having a similar problem, but now it is the passanger rear door. It is intermittent in it's occurance but it is consistently in the locked position, i am going to replace this now since we know about it, but if we have an accident and one has failed in the locked position and we dont know about it. We will be unable to get our children out in a timely manner. I really think this should be addressed.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated the engine failed to start. In addition, the clock would independently reset and there was an overpowering odor within the vehicle.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 08v441000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 78,000.

While driving on the interstate all of the dash board instruments lost power, the door locks actuated as rapidly as possible, the four wheel drive engaged, and the engine temporarily lost power, & all the dome lights came on. The entire episode lasted approximately five seconds outside of the four wheel drive would not go back into two wheel until the vehicle was shut off and the ignition turned on. This type of scenario has occurred now four times. At one point the vehicle locked itself while shut off with our two year old child in the car stuck in his car seat. The vehicle is going in tomorrow for the fourth time and the mechanics have not been able to replicate the problem. The most recent event was preceded by the rear door refusing to open prior to departure, the headlights flickering, the radio panel shutting off, and when the headlights were switched from dim to bright the door locks again actuated at a high rate, the entire instrument fell dead, the engine briefly lost power & the air bag lights went on and off for about twenty seconds. Once the major failure happened the radio and instrument panel would go dead about every five minutes. Once we reached our destination i shut the car off and went to start it the next day and it had similar problems.

A few years ago all three door locks went at the same time on my 2008 tahoe.i told my dealer this seems very unusual. Asked if there is a recall and he shrugged his shoulders.i am not sure of the exact date other than to tell you it was a few years ago.a few months ago left blinker wont work. Took to dealer again. Said to bring it back as they needed more time to work on it and think i needed an entire new fuse box. Saturday oct. 5, 2013 headlights came on while parked in parking lot. Next day it was totally dead.tried charging it and headlights came on and would not shut off. Had to disconnect fuses and battery. Weird messages keep popping up on dashboard such as check tire pressure. It will say rear but actually it is the front.sometimes it isn't any tire that is low. Called chevy customer service and asked why there is no recall and they said it is your responsibility to do so.i researched edmunds.com and found 454 messages from people who have the same electrical problems. Chevy said to contact you.

Safety recall on air bags that they can't fix and could cause death

The passenger door would not lock or unlock, with the remote or by using the drivers door, nor would it lock when putting the vehicle into gear. This is the second time this has happened. So now if you think you are safe, your are not. They put onstar in your vehicle to keep you safe how does that help if you are hi-jacked at gun point? you thought all doors locked when you put it in gear all but the one door that failed because of a poor design. Or your child falls out of the vehicle while going down the freeway and because the lock failed due to poor design. Please help us with these poor designs on chevy vehicles. I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. Clunking noises starting now when i turn corners. Dealership states that is normal. Omg! are they insane? i know that is not normal because it was making that noise when i purchased it. Everything starts going right at the time of the warranty ends. Poor window designs the windows are so loose they could possibly fall out when going down the highway.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the battery drained and required replacement every three months. In addition, the engine rpms increased. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on numerous occasions. On one occasion, the dealer replaced the wiring harness that caused the check engine, the battery light and the abs warning lights illuminated. The failure mileage was 118,000.

Latches/locks/linkages complaint.three of the four door locks cannot be automatically opened or closed either from the inside or outside of thesuv .could pose a safetyproblem if trapped inside of the car.estimated cost to repair $180.00 per door.

The air/heat system completely quit working. No shop that has looked at it can tell what is wrong with it.

The doors fill with water after it rains.the water doesn't drain and begins to smell like mold in the car.now, the electrical system for the windows and door locks is acting strange.

To whom it may concern; i am writing because i have had similar problems with the door locks on our 2008 chevy tahoe. We have had a problem with the door locks in the past as we have had to literally climb out of the window to get out of the vehicle. We have been experiencing problems with the door locks again and took the vehicle to the chevy service this morning. Their customer service rep said the charges are $300 plus.the vehicle has only 84,470 miles. This problem is huge considering that you can not get out of the car once a lock completely fails in that you have to climb out of the window to get out of the car. Also the front driver side window has been making grinding noises when it is used open and close. As this is also another similar issue that othershave complained about. My question is why is this so hard to recall and fix? being that we spent good earn money to buy this vehicle and very much loyal to chevy's vehicles. What happened to taking care of your loyal customers? a recall should be indeed initiated to settle theserepeated issues with these vehicles so customers can feel that chevorlet is indeed loyal to their customers as we are loyal to purchase their vehicles. Money isn't everything however taking care of your customers can go a lifetime. It starts with the customers first.

Door locks on passanger sidefaulty.

Tahoe middle seat belt buckles have all come apart. I contacted local chevy dealer and they said it's not safe to drive uh no sh*t?! once again cracks on dashboard by passenger airbags and all over ridiculous! middle console started to smoke on 4/2018 and i have to have everything disconnected. I contacted dealer and they said to file complaints with y'all.

Turn vehicle ignition off take the key out of the ignition, open the driver door to get outi get a few dings like i have left the key in the ignition.i close the driver door, the lights flash, horn honks and doors then lock.i have done nothing to make this happen. It is an intermittent problem.the two local chevy dealers cannot make it repeat this issue and because there are no codes that come up, they tell me they can't fix it. The second issue is my turn signals.i turn on a turn signal, it shows up green, it does not click at random times.third issue, windshield wipers turn on with the fluids when i have the switch in the off position.i touch nothing.i have asked the dealer if they have seen any of these issues and they said they have ran the service bulletins and cannot find anything.so i have a $50k vehicle that has electrical issues that they do not want to look into because they cannot find a "code".

Drivers door and back hatch will bounce back open and not catch and then the door lock will not unlock to open the door by remote, door panel lock or by hand trapping person in the vehicle.spoke to gm, they know this is an issue but unwilling at this time to put out a bulletin or recall.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle's shifter indicators did not illuminate and the instrument gauges did not function. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the instrument cluster needed to replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Started with the drivers side lock not working and has progressed to all 4 locks not working with keyless entry and electric switch inside cab.i armed and locked my vehicle and expected the vehicle to be locked when it wasn't and items were stolen from my truck.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard has three cracks that were getting large. The contact mentioned that one of the cracks was located near the front driver side air bag. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was not available.

When in heavy traffic coming to auto stop then auto start vehicle accelerates on it's own even with brake pedal is applied to control vehicle from take off and go then start stalling shaking like transmission is gonna fall a part then shuts off. Once turn it of and restart vehicle goes back to normal. Untill its stop and go traffic again problem reoccurring. Danger to bump into vehicles infront of you cause accident. Also vehicle speeds up on it's own without applying gas pedal at 40 to 50 mph

While traveling out of town stabilitrac disabled engine power reduced on the highway.i had to pull over to the shoulder since speed was reduced.i had to turn off vehicle for a few minutes to let the ecm reset the fault.i distracted driver rearended the vehicle when i was stranded with my family inside the vehicle.

I have the same problem with the cracked dashboard as hundreds of other people and the more serious concern is that my brakes go out when i am stopping sometimes causing my car to jolt forward and it sometimes does the same with the gas when i am starting to drive, where it will stall and jolt forward.the dealership has "fixed" the problem two or three times replacing first the hybrid battery and then the regular battery. Neither truly fix it. A couple of days ago, i came within inches of hitting another car because my brakes went out again.i know it has something to do with being a hybrid because there are hundreds of others with the same vehicle who have had the same problem.

Reduced power to engine while driving on a highway

I was on the freeway in pretty heavy traffic. The traffic started to disperse and as i accelerated, the notification chime came on and the dash message said "stabilitrack off, traction control off, engine power is reduced". I could not drive any faster than about 20mph and it was jerking a bit. I pulled over and pushed the onstar button. They sent a tow truck and after sitting on the road for about an hour, when i started the truck again, the message was gone. I had it towed to the dealer anyway, and was told that it is a sensor problem, which is not covered under the powertrain warranty. I have a friend that has a 2007 tahoe and she had the same problem. Also, according to a few message boards, many other people have had this problem also.

While driving vehicle completely stalls no electricalnot even hazard lights.i was driving and radio startedto static and then car stalled was not able to turn on hazards making it very dangerous as other vehicles were not able to see that i was stalled and got very close to hitting my truck had to call for help as i was sitting in intersection had no way of telling them i was unable to move had to open my doors to call attention to drivers.a day before i noticed thatproblem began when i parked vehicle and ignition key turned off all electricity will quickly shut off including radio. When at a normal time radio would stay on until door opened. This incident has happen to me 3 times already. I have had full body throttle replaced, battery and ground cables replaced and still not fixed vehicle also shakes alot at times when stopped at intersection.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle began to shudder and jerk. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder and was towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the hydraulic lifters needed to be replaced. An engine overhaul was performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

I bought my 2008 chevrolet tahoe brand new. People laugh at me because i've always dealt with the dealership on everything including all oil changes. Now i'm being told that i have lifter and cam problems. I complained about the engine light being on 5 months prior to be told this. I was informed that the check engine light was on because of the tps sticking. I'm a single mother of 2. I purchased a new vehicle not to have these kind of problems especially since i've always taken my truck to the dealership. I cant afford a new engine, my truck is parked and i have to get rides to work from co-workers. I cant sleep nor work.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. While driving at 5 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,900.

I purchased my tahoe from the dealer brand new and always took it to get serviced at the same dealer. In 2015 i took it in for a check engine light and they said there was a misfire and they replaced the camshaft and machined the heads stating that the valves were leaking. Repairs cost nearly $3000. This year 2018 in march the engine light came on again. The dealer stated that there was a misfire in a cylinder the same cylinder that was mifiring 3 years prior. They said a roller on the rocker disintergrated and repairs would cost close to $6000 this is not due to anything i did the vehicle does even have 100,000 miles on it. No harsh driving or anything like that. I believe this is a manufacturing issue. Not a safety issue but i think it is a manufacturing defect.

Engine has very loud valve type tapping noise at idle and in gear.engine light is on and engine is burning excessive engine oil between oil changes.

We had this same recurring problem with this tahoe for the last 10k miles. Sometimes when driving at higher speed or just idling, it will display a "reduced engine power"and you will loose all power. Engine is still running and lights and radio will work, but you get no power when pressing the gas. Its scary because it happens so suddenly with out any warning.we have spend a couple of thousand dollars trying to trouble shoot this but it hasn't been solved..

Vehicle's autostop feature is extremely dangerous when driver is trying to apply the brakes and slow vehicle. Vehicle jolts violently forward upon breaking and accelerates to 10 mph. Vehicle's transmission failed at 135k miles during stop at traffic light in hayward ca in dec 2018. Transmission was rebuilt. Vehicle at 145k miles now is completely shutting down during auto stop with low rpm's without any service codes to check. At all times vehicle is in drive.

I bought my chevy tahoe in 2012.i would changed my oil every 3000 miles.every time my oil was changed, the oil tech would inform me that your oil is very low by showing me the dip stick.when i had 167,009 miles,i was experiencing lifter noise and oil consumption.i took my tahoe to a chevy dealership were they found ehaust lifters and cam lobe was worn.they had to replace camshaft, lifters, oil pump, bolts, gaskets, etc.very expensive fix.now that,i have my 5.3 vortex motor fixed,it still consuming oil.i have had many oil changes since motor was repaired and still my 5.3 vortex motor is consuming oil showing low on oil dip stick.on 12/5/2020,i had a oil change at a oil change place and the technician showed me the dipstick with the oil showing very low.where is this oil going?

Tapping noise in lifters developed at five days ago.vehicle mileage is 58,000 miles.chevy dealer informed us the repair would be $4,000-$5000.we have complete maintenance and repair records on the vehicle and purchased it new in november 2007.we are the only owners

The truck was having dry start ups winter or summer..could hear the lifters tapping really hard until oil hits it,,lifters collasped on right side now the left is doing the same and warranty wont fix..also the leveling pump keeps going out and this it rhe second one in two years that had to be replaced..also the driver mirror will not role in so when i park noone wont hit it..also dash is craxk over the passenger side and driver side air bags..also the transmission is slipping into second gear and it rumbles inside when it drops to 4 cylinder..

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle caught on fire. The vehicle was parked in a residential garage when the fire started. The contact stated that the vehicle had been sitting for 6 hours prior to the fire. The fire and police departments were contacted and responded to the fire.the fire department stated that the hottest part of the fire was on the driver's side between the engine and dashboard. The vehicle was not inspected. The failure and the current mileage was unknown.

Heard a ticking sound coming from engine, sounded like an exhaust leak.took in for inspection was advised that there was a broken bolt on exhaust manifold in the rear.was advised it was not covered under warranty or extended warranty as it fell under "exhaust" and "fastener" components that are not covered.after searching the internet, i have found that this is a very common issue.this is a fire hazard and will cause me to fail emissions when i am due, which also violates the epa laws. I live in arizona where we do not have weather conditions that lead to rust issues. How can this be possible with such a large problem??

Gas engine run away check engine light illuminated with p0069, p0430 (emissions codes)engine uncontrollably revved to maximum 6000 rpm (max throttle)while in drivegearfrom autostop resume.. I see as much as 2,000 to 2500 rpm from autostop resume...this is not normal it should be starting at 1200 to 1500 rpm..normal engine starts are at 1100 rpm

I purchased this car with 69k on the dash by the time i got to 80k i started having problems with misfires upon further inspection i found out my engine lifters went out while driving on the highway in the vehicle went into limp mode. I called gm they offered no repair assistance and aknowledged this was a common problem. However they havent released a recall to help or reimburse the many people that have had this problem.

Check engine light began flashing, check stabilitrak light came on, engine sputtered. This was first of 4 incidents from oil consumption issue gm has with this engine. They didn't recall the engine, but had a protocol - a series of bandaids that shops used to repair or prolong. Ultimate step is engine rebuild/replacement, which gm did under warranty for those "in the know." my dealership in small town hamilton, oh, rose chevrolet, was dropped by gm and is now independent. Neither rose or gm informed me of this ongoing problem. After spending more than $9-- out of my own pocket, the car now needs pistons and rings, for another $3000. Again, gm knew of this issue and didn't inform me of it. Had i know about it, and the magnitude, i would have insisted on repair or replacement while under warranty. I'm a sales rep and drive a lot. The car now has 146,000 miles and i have a case number with gm. They should pay for the repair, reimburse me for my out of pocket and/or repurchase the vehicle from me.

Reduced power to engine while driving on a highway

I was driving my truck to a softball game when i drove into the parking lot i noticed a burning smell. I parked in the parking lot and the smell got stronger. I didn't realize the smoke was coming from my hood until i got out of the vehicle. Two citizens that were walking by noticed the smoke and helped me open my hood and about thirty seconds later flames started coming up out of the engine by the upper right driver's side. A guy poured poweraide on the flames and it went out. After i made an insurance claim and called gm i found out it was the heated washer fluid that caused the fire. There was a recall on this specific item and i was informed they had fixed this recall in jan. Of 2009. I purchased the vehicle in april of 2009 not knowing there had ever been a recall on my vehicle. Gm has not even sent a representative from their company to look at it or take care of the problem. I am having to pay for a rental car out of my own pockets to get to and from work.

While i was driving the air conditioner blower quit blowing and today when i went to a dealer for help he told me how to diagnose the fan relay, but it performed correctly.he also told me that he has seen before on the tahoes the a/c fan harness has melted before on this type of vehicle.

I have extensive documentation to show that i have a consistent vibration problem.to date local chevy dealers have replaced my tires 3 times, rims twice, new drive shaft, new driver side rear axle, new steering shaft, and balanced my tires 7 times. I still have the vibration and now going through lemon claim.please contact me as i have 2 letters which outline all of my service records and incidents.not enough room on here to submit.

The outside door handles are cheap and defective.just replaced one and another is breaking apart.replaced the handle at the dealer who told me they are replacing a lot of them!

As soon as we drove our used 2008 tahoe off the dealer lot we had a tail light out that they claim was just a light bulb blown but it still continues to turn off and on by itself. We've had to replace the drivers seat belt because it wouldn't retract all the way. The dash cracked almost all the way from end to end and it is garaged unless we are out driving around so there should be no reason for it to crack. The driver side chrome door handle is peeling and has cut our hands. We've had to have the alternator replaced right after we bought it as well. This whole truck is a lemon! the truck is currently in the dealership because it wouldn't start and kept throwing a code "service security theft system." haven't heard from them saying what is exactly wrong with it now.

I been having several issues with this truck for about 2 years now. The dashboard is cracking, throttle sensor is going off, fuel sensor is off as well. The locks are getting stuck on my rear doors. The locks started to click on & off yesterday.wiring system is jacked. My speakers don't work.my mother has the same truck year and model and is doing the same things.

Dash, radio lights not working

I own a 2008 chevrolet tahoe and when i was driving home from work my truck quit running while driving on the highway. After calling a tow truck and having it towed, the mechanic informed me that i had run out of gas and my gas gauge was not working properly because it was registering that i had gas in the vehicle.

Gas gauge indicates more fuel than what is in the tank.

As stated on previous consumer reports the mpg on the chevy tahoe 2008 is false i can't get no more than 13 miles to the gallon & 15 miles on the highway. This is false advertisement on gmc.

Dash, radio lights not working

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle had an abnormal fuel odor. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the fuel pump experienced a leak due to corrosion and the material used to manufacturer the fuel pump. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was repaired with an aluminum fuel pump module. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that they could not assist because there was no recall. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.

Fuel pump on my 2008 z71 chevy tahoe was leaking fumes

Around feburary of this year my vehicle begin to idle out of control and was attempting to gun off evertime i tried to put it in drive, according to gm they were already aware of the issues and said they had an extended warranty on the throttle body for my 2008 chevy tahoe. My car did exactly what gm said it would do to confirm it was the throttle body but the gm service department denied the issue claiming it was a loose vacum hose and would not replace the throttle body. My vehicle still does not operate as it should which i know is due to the throttle body issue. Thousands of owners have confirmed the same issue and obviously gm knows about theissues but chooses to go around it by calling it an extended warranty which makes the replacement conditional. I am 100% sure that i and milllions of tahoe owners know this she be a recall and not a so called extended warranty to get around the expense of making a recall. When the issue occured i went flying down the freeway with minimal ability to slow the vehicle down, i had to drive my vehicle to the shop by riding my breaks because the vehicles throttle body would not let the trucks rpm go below x3000. Gm is continuingto ignore this serious issue and will untill someone dies instead of taking responsiblilty and making the recall to prevent the loss of life.

Noticed a strong smell of gas after refueling one day, a few days later noticed gas leaking from the tank while it was parked in the driveway. Took tank off and fuel pump was rusted almost all the way through. The mechanic said that he had the same thing happen to another 2007 tahoe just a few weeks prior.

The fuel pump and vapor lines are corroded.the pump and lines have to be replaced.

Fire hazard explosion hazard environmental hazard. While in motion pressurized fuel lines at the furl pump can unexpectedly fail due to corrosion resulting in fuel being pumped out of the vehicle onto the under surfaces of the vehicle and the roadway. As much as 25 gallons of fuel can be expelled from the vehicle while in motion with no warning to the driver other that a rapidly diminishing of amount of fuel remaining as shown by the fuel gage.the vehicle was being driven on an interstate highway when the fault occurred but it was not noticed until the vehicle exited the highway at which time a strong odor of gasoline was noticed. When the engine was shut off and the vehicle exited a pool of gasoline was observed under the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a repair facility.during the repair it was noted that the fuel pomp is located at the top of the tank and could be observed without removing the tank from the vehicle. Upon removal it was found the pump mounting lacation was in a well molded into the plastic fuel tank. The well was full of sand and dust which was cleaned out revealing a mass of rust on the steel fuel pump support and locking ring as well as the steel pressure and return lines. The leak was determined to be in the pressure line line inside the plastic fuel line quick connect both steel fuel lines disintegrated while attempting to disconnect the plastic lines from the tank.repairs included the replacement of the fuel pump, both plastic fuel lines and quick connects.these components are identical.to those originally installed and will be subject to the same corrosion as the originals due the to the poor design of the pump placemen ton the tank and the failure to shield the components from being covered with sand an dust, particularly in areas where salt is used on the roads in winter.

Drivers side door will intermittentlynot open from inside or outside. Must climb out other side door. This would be a death trap in an emergency.

2008 chevy tahoe with 35,000 miles.the passenger side and the left back door locks will not lock or unlock automatically anymore.big concern since i have small children in the back who could open the doors on their own.this is an expensive vehicle, this should not be happening.

The electronic door locks on all 4 doors do not function on a 2008 chevy tahoe.there are hundreds of complaints exactly like mine concerning the door locks, yet no recall has been initiated.is it going to take not being able to unlock the rear doors to save a drowning kid before something is done?i have talked to a chevy technician and they are well aware of the faultiness of the actuators in the doors, but still quote me $1200 to fix all four locks.

Passenger side door lock started having problems. Would work occasionally. Now, it won't work at all. Has to be manually pulled up to unlock and pushed down to lock. I noticed over 450 complaints from others about the actuators going out on theirs too. Seems to be a problem.

The door lock actuators on my 2008 chevy tahoe have been replaced 5 or 6 times, 2 or 3 the first time and 3 more the last time a few weeks ago all under warranty. The tahoe has 33k miles on it this problem has occurred on every door at least once this is asafety concern and should be recalled immediately as sometimes the door will only work manually by actually pulling up the door button to open the door from the inside or out. In some cases the affected door does not lock when car is put in gear which can result in a child or an adult inadvertently pulling on the door handle while going down the highway and the door swinging open or in an emergency not being able to open the door without having to enter through another doorchevy dealer suggested i get an extended warranty because after 36k miles it will cost $325 a door to fix the faulty actuators when they break again. This is the first time i have never had avehicle with any kind of door lock issues and to have 5 or 6 problems within 3 years is aproblem not to mention a huge safety concern for drivers and passengers alike.

Driver's side door lock will not work unless i push it down manually.if you don't lock the door manually and press "lock" on the key fob - when you try to open the door the alarm goes off.

The power door locks work intermittently in my 2008 chevy tahoe.i have had the rear driver's side door looked at in the past at my local chevy dealer, and they were unable to find a problem.recently my drivers side door will not lock or unlock using the key fob.the alarm is set and all other doors lock, except the driver's side door.i do not know how long this has been happening, as i usually trust that the door is locked when i push the button.plus, i can hear the other doors lock and i have never had to visually or physically check that all doors are locked.last year i had a similar problem when i would put the car in park with the engine running.the doors would unlock and then lock again.at one point i had actually gotten out of my car, shut my door, then the doors locked, and i was unable to open the rear drivers door to access my children.thank goodness the drivers door did not lock.i was able to open the drivers door and manually unlock the rear drivers side door.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side windows and door locks malfunctioned. The contact stated that she was unable to open or close the windows and the locks failed to unlock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. Updated 10/23/2012

2008 chevrolet tahoe door lock failure.

Drivers door and back hatch will bounce back open and not catch and then the door lock will not unlock to open the door by remote, door panel lock or by hand trapping person in the vehicle.spoke to gm, they know this is an issue but unwilling at this time to put out a bulletin or recall.

Door handles on my 2008 chevy tahoe broke again for 3rd time. Chevydealer notes its a issue but says its not covered under warranty since im over my mileage. Please help!

Door locks on 2008 chevrolet tahoe no longer work.locks do not move up or down when pressing the unlock/lock button on the key fob or the unlock/lock button on the door panel.

The automatic door locks no longer work. When using the key fob to lock the doors, they do not go up or down. When placing the car in drive, the locks do not go down. When placing the car in park the locks do not go back up.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that all of the door locks were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the lock actuator but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times for the same failure but the problem continuously recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,057 and the current mileage was 39,509.

The safety equipment locks and actuator have started to fail one by one on my 2008 chevy tahoe lt3. The first was covered by the warranty, but the last one was not. It appears this is a problem that gm has a problem with, but has failed to acknowledge.

Continuously having to replace door handles on 2008 chevy tahoe. Pinches my hand and causes brusing.

Power locks are failing for second time after replacing.the actuators do not last over 2 years.each door costs $300 to repair.there are thousands of posts on the internet with this problem in multiple models and years.this needs to be a recall.

Started with the drivers side lock not working and has progressed to all 4 locks not working with keyless entry and electric switch inside cab.i armed and locked my vehicle and expected the vehicle to be locked when it wasn't and items were stolen from my truck.

I just purchased a used 2008 chevrolet tahoe in june 2010. As of november 2010, 3 out of the 4 automatic door locks do not work.i am very upset about this and wanted to know what can be done because the estimated cost of repair is $250 per door lock.for a 30,000 dollar vehicle, i think this is a little ridiculous. I am not the only person that i know that has had this problem either.

All four power door locks on my 2008 chevy tahoe have had to be replaced.my passenger side door is being replaced for the 2nd time.i have a toddler who rides in the back and i depend on my doors to lock to prevent him from being able to open the door.

On my 2008 chevy tahoe, the door lock actuator has been replaced 3 times, twice under warranty and once out of warranty.this has occurred on different doors, and currently the driver's door is not working.so this will be the 4th time to have one replaced and the vehicle only has 50k miles.this is a huge safety concern, and should be recalled immediately.we have an infant that rides in the back seat, and if the passenger doors were to quit working there would be a risk of getting him out in case of an emergency.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the door actuator would not remain locked. The dealer replaced the driver and passenger side lock actuators two years prior to the current failure. The contact did not seek assistance from the manufacturer and the vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 94,000 and the failure mileage was 39,000. The vin was unavailable.

Driver's door and driver side rear locks failed.neither door lock would operate manually or with key remote.access in/out had to be from passenger side.this is the second occurrence.first time repairs were in excess of $400, this time repairs for both doors are $580.

Passenger lacerated right hand middle finger on sharp edge of peeling chrome on the top of the rap door handle. The rear doors exhibit some roughness of the chrome overlay indicating probable failure of the bonding on these as well. The drivers door handle was replaced the prior week at the owners expense for the same issue.

Doors will not all lock or unlock. Dealer said that lock actuators in each door need replacement.

Thank you.

I have a 2008 chevrolet tahoe ltz which has ~53000 mile on it. I have in the last 2 years replaced 2 door handles and 2 door lock actuators. Dealership actually told me this morning after had 2nd lock actuator replaced that another lock actuator failed. As you could imagine i wanted to explode. I was livid, especially at the cost of replacing these items. I did not have an issue with it before they started looking at the other one. It looked liked they were trying to milk me for money in my opinion.i am astonished that there has not been a recall on these items, as of yet. It is apparent that these parts are defective, especially the lock actuators. Any searches on the web or discussion with any dealer advisors one would realize these parts have issues. The lock actuator issue is the most concerning, especially when you have small children riding in these vehicles. What is it going to take for a recall to occur, someone dying? these parts(possibly chinese made)are failing left and right with replacement costs upwards of $300 or more. These parts are probably being replaced with different manufactured parts but owner would not know. The dealerships do not want to show you the defective parts. Is there a reason there is no recall in respect to the lock actuators?

2008 chevy tahoe ltz (50000 miles). My drivers side door does not unlock/lock with my keyless remote. All of the other doors work. I have 7 co-workers with 2008 tahoe's and they all have the same problem on various levels. I locked my doors with my remote and walked into to a diner to eat and looked out of the window and saw someone just open my door and run off with my shopping bag. The drivers door was the only unlocked door.

I have a 2008 chevy tahoe, the keyless entry stopped unlocking my driver side door in about march 2010 at about 45,000 miles.the lock would also not unlock from the driver side door panel.within a few months the same thing happened to the driver side back seat door.now both doors have to be locked and unlocked manually, which is not what i paid for when i purchased this 35,000 dollar vehicle!!!noticed how some have eventually spread to all doors, i think this issue needs to be resolved asap as many complaints as i am seeing via the internet!!

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated the front passenger and rear passenger interior power doors would not unlock upon engaging. The passenger seated in the front or rear exited the vehicle through the driver's side door. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

Driver's side door latch failure.door will not close.once latched, door will not open.

On both my 2008 chevrolet tahoe and 2008 gmc yukon we have had 5 power door latches quit working leaving the doors unlocked or locked. I am concerned what could happen in the event of a crash.

The locking mechanism on my chevy tahoe 2008 ltz no longer works on the drivers door , drivers side passengerdoor and right side passenger door. The electronic lock/unlock door mechanism no longer locks or unlocks the doors as well as the key remote no longer locks or unlocks the doors. The drivers side passengers door handle came loose and had to be replaced. This vehicle has only 47,000 miles. This is with no doubt is a safety issue.

In april 2011, the front passenger door would periodically not lock unless i manually locked it.eventually it would not lock automatically at any time.a couple of months later the front driver door began doing the same thing.the car was under warranty until august 2011 so we had the locks replaced by a chevrolet dealership in july 2011.i was told this was a known problem.they refused to give me an extended warranty on the new front locks or the rear locks that were not replaced b/c at the time they were working.in february 2012 the rear driver side door will not unlock automatically.about a week later, the rear passenger side door began to occassionally stay locked. I consider this a very concerning safety issue b/c i can not open the door unless i manually unlock the door by either climbing through the other side-if it opens or through the front seat.in the event on an emergency and the door locks fail to unlock, i (or emergency response crews) would be unable to remove my infant son whose car seat is placed in the middle seat or my three year old daughter who is on the passenger side.it is an enormous hassle to climb over car seats or through the front to unlock doors, but more importantly i am very fearful of driving with the kids in the car in case i were unable to remove them from the car if we were in an accident, etc.i called the chevy dealership again and was once again told, it was a known problem and my car was now not under warranty so i would be responsible for payment.i explained i had the front door locks replaced in july and the person i spoke to said "if it is not broken, chevy will not fix it."they have suggested i can request/apply for the gm assistance program.i feel very strongly that because it is a known problem and definitely a safety issue, there should be a recall or they should replace the locks at no cost.

Automatic door locks began to intermittently malfunction about four months ago. Now happening on a continual basis. Rear doors will not unlock or lock with either key fob or door control. Definitely a safety issue since doors can not be locked or unlocked in case of an emergency. Told it's the actuators with a approx cost of $300.00 to replace.

Power door lock actuating unit failure.two months ago i was unable to enter my drivers door when it would not unlock with the remote control.i unlocked it with the key and tested the lock mechanics and discovered that the door would neither lock or unlock electronically.gm replaced the door lock actuator to fix the problem.last week the passenger rear door lock failed in the same manner.gm once again replaced a defective lock actuator, part # 25876390.this failure is a safety concern.if the door does not lock electronically, a small child could inadvertently open the door while the vehicle is in motion.since two of the four actuators have already failed, i am sure it is just a matter of time before the rest fail too.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that while parked the driver was unable to enter the vehicle since he was unable to lock or unlock the doors. On several occasions the back door of the vehicle had to be used to enter and/or exit the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the door lock actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000 and the current mileage was 29,713.

Drivers door, front passenger, and driver side passenger doors do not lock or unlock using key less entry and driver side door lock button.2008 tahoe lt with only 38k just out of warranty.

A few months ago, the drivers side door wouldn't unlock. If manually pulled up, wouldn't lock. Chevrolet fixed the problem. Now, a few months later, my other 3 doors are all the sudden not unlocking. If manually pulled up will not lock. Chevrolet says its the actuators(?) door locks. I have to wait a few days until they can squeeze the truck in to replace all three...

Automatic door lock stop working on driver side then passenger side front door went out one month later.

Discovered that the rear door lock actuators are not working on my 2008 chevy tahoe. I found out because child opened door and almost went out the door. This happened when mileage was at about 40,000 and chevy dealer would only fix after i paid over $500.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact observed that all four exterior passenger door handles were stuck in position. The occupants were unable to enter or exit the vehicle. The contact had to activate the automatic windows in order to allow access to release the exterior door handle. The doors would not respond to the keyless remote. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician advised that the failure was due to a defect in the door lock actuator. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 47,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger sideexterior door handles were fractured. In addition, the chrome peeled off of the front passenger side interior door handle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer twice and the exterior door handle was replaced each time. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Rk

Torque converter went out completely causing me to have to replace the entire transmission, drive very low miles and do not pull/tow anything. Our dodge & ford both have well over 260,000 miles on them and have never had an issue. Cheap part were used in this tahoe causing major repair failures and costs to repair

After coming to a complete stop i press on the accelerator, at times i press harder and harder before the auto starts to move and it then goes much to fast.this does not happen at every stop.it is either in the accelerator or the transmission.the dealer ship can not make it duplicate the situation because it does not happen all of the time.

My airbag light continue to stay on the dealership said i needed to replace seatbelts switch and airbag switch costs $550.00 2hours labor i'd really want to know where can i have this resolved within my budget and not be taken just for the dollar bill and or the booking. I know it's just the connector regardless $550.00 bit redundant

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that she was attempting to exit the vehicle when the seat belt failed. The contact attempted to remove the seat belt but the anchor would not release the buckle. The contact ended up jamming her finger and injuring it. The seat belt released but would not connect later. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the anchor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and filed a complaint. The failure mileage was 104,800.

When driving i hear a winding sound in my speakers when i accelerate. My radio is off when this happens. Also my drivers seat belt will not stay latched. Keeps coming updone when correctly fastened.

While in motion, 6 yr old in booster seat, seat belted in 3rd row rear seat, drivers side complained to operator that his seat belt was choking him. Operator stopped vehicle, went to child and tried to unlatch belt.the unlatch button would not depress, operator was unable to create any slack in the upper belt, the belt was so tight the child was nearly passed out, operator had to cut the belt to release child.

2008 chevy tahoe does not have a child safety seat hook in the second row seat left side to hook your child seat to.i have called chevy and they do not have an answer for the missing part only they do not recommend the use of a child seat in that location. This location is next to the left door they do recommend you to use a child seat on the right side of the car next to the door (?)so you have to place the child seat on the right side next to the door and in the middle of the seat. So if you do this you can not get to the back third row seat . This is a mistake that they left outthe part and will not fix.

Excessive lint build up on ebony cloth seats in 08 chevy. Tahoe.gm knows there is a problem - gm bulletin #07-08-50-018a, 10/02/2007 models 2007and 08 tahoes and many other models built with cloth seats prior to 8/01/07. Supposed to recover the seats but after many phone calls back and forth with gm they are not willing to do anything for us.our tahoe is a 08,# .the fabric seats pull cloth fibers from any type of clothing you are wearing and the seats look filthy all the time.the fibers are difficult to remove with a lint brush or a vacuum.it only takes getting in and out once and your seats look terrible.we have only owned this vehicle for less than 3 months and it is driving us insane trying to keep up with the fabric fibers from our clothing all over the seats.we are very angry that gm refuses to do anything at all for us after replacing the same fabric on other models in accordance with their bulletin stated prior.we have always had cloth seats in our vehicles and have never seen anything like this.there are many chat sights on-line dealing with this exact problem about the ebony cloth seats.gm needs to do something about this immediately.after all, they have already acknowledged the problem.we feel absolutely screwed over by gm.

Rear brakes faulty no to minimal braking power to the rear bakes as of todaystopping distance significantly increased...by 20-30 feet ..no check engine light, abs or brake light illuminated ...currently there is no reason as to why it should not be working...front brakes work perfectly fine..momentarypower loss to vital components lost.system power loss eventthat caused power steeringand all wheels to lock upamong other things to stop working.approximate speed at the time was 50mph...engine was still running at the timei was very fortunatefor it to happen on a off ramp the two cars behind me were able to stop in time ...it nearly cause and accidentpile up with 2 other cars

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. While driving approximately 75 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to decelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that throttle position sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

2008 chevrolet tahoe @ 19,000 miles. Back brakes grinding while driving to pennsylvania. There was no warning it happened all of a sudden. We brought it to the chevy dealer and they gave us a print out of all these issues on the brakes and got charged $917.00 later. Can't understand how back brakes went before front brakes and they gave us a story.

My vehicle 2008 chevy tahoe ltz 8 months old 16 k miles all 4 rotors had metal shaved and groves from the brake pads but the pads was 25 % worn. Chevy resurface rotors and replace brake pads my concern is safety. Is this a wide spread problem. According to my mechanic yes but they did not replace the rotors just resurface them. Is there a batch of chevy rotors that have defective material?

It started with some lights on the dashboard then the brakes smoking. When driving itthe brakes seems unsafe took it to a mechanic said it's the steering angle sensor . They called several placeses included the dealership and gm does not make that part anymore for the year and model. Said it could be ordered online they tried it but it's not the same part needed. The mechanic said it's not recommended to drive that's it's very unsafe to do so.we have decided to park it and not use it for safety issues. *ln

I bought my chevy tahoe in 2012.when i bought this vehicle, this vehicle had 20 inch tires that came with it.because of the larger, low profile tires, this has caused a bumpy ride and has caused many repairs to the front end suspension.i have changed the ball joints a few times, wheel hubs, front shocks, steering column ujoint, and constantly getting front end alignments.when i go over bumps,my truck shifts to either left or right.i decided in 2020 to changed my tires to a different make and model thinking this would correct problem.it didnt correct problem.i have spent alot of money for nothing

I previously filed a complaint regarding two cracks in my 2008 chevy tahoe dashboard, which have now increased to three. This has now left the entire piece above the passenger airbag detached from the rest of the dashboard. Also, i now have inside components that have broken, fallen through the dashboard compartment and fallen on my feet as i am driving. The pieces are very sharp and are a distraction while driving and i am concerned for other pieces that may fall and impede my ability to operate the gas or brakes properly.

I been having a cracked dash and is something from the manufactured. And is really dangerous to have a cracked dash and i don't think i need to pay for it if is something from the manufactured .

There are several cracks in the dashboard of my 2008 chevy tahoe.there are two separate pieces to the dash=the first: "panel assembly, upper trim" has severe cracks on the driver's side and passenger side.the second: "panel assembly, instrument" has a small crack that is touching the passenger air bag panel & there is a crack leading up to the steering wheel.i am very nervous about these cracks because if a wreck happens then i fear this dashboard would just break apart and somehow interfere with the deployment of the air bags.i have searched this complaint online and i am not alone with this problem.i have read where gm will replace dash for a cost or sometimes for free.i have contacted them and hope to have an answer soon.i think this should be a "recall" for these types of vehicles.

Around 45,000 miles on my 2008 tahoe, a crack appeared in the dashboard at the top left corner of the passenger air bag. The crack has continued to get wider ever since, the vehicle now has 66,000 miles. The driver's side dash is also now cracked above the instrument panel. The crack is quickly working its way from the edge toward the steering wheel. Currently, it is halfway through the dash but the plastic shows signs of pressure but has not cracked all the way through yet. Gm has been contacted and i've been referred to my dealership to inspect it.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the passenger's side dashboard became cracked near the air bag area. The vehicle was taken to dealer, who repaired the dashboard however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

The dashboard has cracked for the 2nd time it was replaced a few years ago under warranty but has cracked again in 2 places. I have a 2008 tahoe with 51000 miles. I have been in contact with gm trying to get this repaired at their experience. I have done some research and found many complaints about the dash cracking, a recall needs to be released to fix this issue.

Noticed a crash on the dash near the corner of the passenger airbag. Gm defect in the dash material. Could affect performance on the passenger airbag if deployed.

There are very large cracks on my dash board, the worst one being around the airbag plastic cover on the passenger side of the dash! you can see under the cover showing all of the components under the dash! the crack that is on the drivers side is above the steering column running from the defroster to the top by the speedometer displays, etc! i feel as if these cracks, specifically the one on the passenger side, is a huge safety hazard! without crashing, there is no way of telling if the passenger side airbag will deflate properly due to this! i feel that to find this out, it should be at no ones expense! i have filed a complaint & a claim with gm a few months ago only to be told by the dealership that gm contacted on my behalf that the responsibility is mine if i wanted this problem to be fixed! the dealership informed me that it would cost $850 to $1000 to have the dash replaced! the dealership also said that they are very aware of this problem in the tahoes because they have replaced some dashes! gm is not taking any responsibility for their faulty equipment & refuse to issue a recall!there are thousands of other customers who i know for a fact that are also facing the same problems with their trucks & suvs! please do the right thing & issue a recall on these faulty & cheap made dash boards! thank you!

The dashboard is cracked on the drivers side above the instrument panel about 6-8 inches long.it is also has 3 other cracks on the passenger side airbag on the dashboard, the cracks are in the top two corners.these cracks just started appearing and around the date mentioned above is when we noticed the cracks.i know this is an ongoing issue with many of these vehicles and it is a safety concern when it is on the airbag.if there is a wreck, who is to say pieces wont be flung up into my family and hurt or possible kill them.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard cracked in multiple areas. The cracks extended from the driver side defrost vent to the instrument panel and from the passenger side defrost vent to the corner of the passenger side air bag cover. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Before the warranty expired the dash of this 2008 tahoe crack.when to the chevy dealer and was told that type off damage was not cover under the warranty and at that time we also had the extended warranty from gmc.. Maroone chevrolet of miami.

Dashboard has substantial cracks at and around passenger air bag. Cracks have subsequently appeared on the dash above the steering wheel. May be associated with inadvertent deployment of air bag causing bodily harm to passenger.

I have had a cracked dash over the air bag for several years and then another crack happened over by the gauge cluster so it's broken all the way through and the dealership will do nothing but charge me way to much to replace it. How do we get this fixed?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called westside chevrolet at (281) 392-3200 (23001 katy fwy, katy, tx, 77450) and was informed that the parts were not available. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked on the driver's side air bag location. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The failure mileage was unknown. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Dash is cracked in three (3) locations. One location is near air bag and passenger air bag light will not engage. Dealership and gm directly have advised they will not repair. The airbag could deploy on its own, or could fail to deploy if needed, both of which are a safety issue. Dash cracks are large. Thousands of gm owners are experiencing this same issue. Electrical system has gone haywire. After three attempted repairs by a dealership, they finally replaced the negative battery cable. The vehicle would disable completely at random, requiring tows on too many occasions to recall. Electrical issues still remain. I am afraid that the vehicle will catch fire, as the electrical system appears to be engaged and operating when there is no power to the vehicle.door handle on drivers side will not engage with automatic lock feature. Other doors lock and unlock, but drivers side will not. This is a serious safety issue, as the door has failed to open when needed in an emergency. The door handles have chrome covering coating. The coating is peeling off and is very sharp, resulting in cuts to your hands. I have attempted to file down the coating, but have finally covered it with duct tape to avoid further cuts to my hands and my passengers hands. On a cosmetic note, the coating on the steering wheel is all peeling off. All of the issues i have reported are happening to thousands of gm owners and gm has failed to accept responsibility for these issues. I have also been overcharged by an authorized gm dealership for time expended on repairs to my vehicle.

So i take very good care of my truck its garage kept always have sun visor on when in the sun but that didn't matter. I first noticed a small crack above the instrument panel maybe a inch and with a month it's cracked all the way up almost around to the front. This is not he fault of the consumer. There are thousands and thousands on facebook, on the news and all social media. Gm needs to get this recalled immediately.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the chrome coating on the interior door handles was separating. The contact sustained minor lacerations to the hand as a result of grabbing the door handle with the chrome shards. The contact also mentioned that the exterior door handles had also become detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the failures were due to normal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failures. The failure mileage was 85,000. The vin was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that all four door handles detached from the vehicle as he attempted to open the doors. The dealer was notified of the failure who advised the contact that the door handles were not on recall.the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 78,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle developed a crack on the dashboard near the air bag. The dashboard began to disintegrate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who stated that the failure was a common issue with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,000. The vin was not available.

Chrome plating on interior door handles peeling, cutting my fingers when trying to exit the vehicle.

Dashboard has cracked adjacent to corner of passenger side airbag panel and along top of driver side instrument cluster panel. Cracks were noticed upon entering vehicle after it being parked in front of home overnight. The cracked dashboard is a safety concern in that shards of the plastic may break off during an accident and/or during deployment of the airbags, impaling the passengers.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured from the driver's side and extended to the passenger's side of the vehicle. Additionally, the powered side mirrors were inoperable. The contact stated that the mirrors were only adjustable manually. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who referred the contact to the nhtsa for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,000.

Takata recall. Airbag light going on and off constantly. Also dashboard cracking all over and pieces coming out which can be dangerous in an accident!

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle fractured. The dashboard was in close proximity to the frontal air bag compartment. The contact stated that portions of the dashboard started to disintegrate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 9-5211213523. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

Two dashboard cracks on 2008 chevrolet tahoe, 1 of which is directly going to passenger side airbag compartment.if this airbag is to be deployed, it will send the pieces of this dash flying throughout the vehicle.this is a well known issue and there are thousands of these identical cracks on these generation vehicles with no support from gm.this is a safety issue and needs to be recalled.

There is a crack in the dash that extends from the passenger side airbag area. I am concerned with the fact that if the airbag were to deploy it could propel plastic material into the cabin and at the passengers.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. While driving at 25 mph, the contact noticed that there were multiple cracks on the dashboard where the air bags were located. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Chrome on inside door handle beginning to flake and chip and cut passenger's hand when operating door handle.

The dashboard is cracking all over, and there is even a hole where it cracked so bad that a piece fell off. I believe this is a common defect and that the manufacturer should be responsible for this.

Dashboard is cracking around the airbag and on top of the odometer/ speed and is a safety issue if passenger side airbag goes off. Potential for it to shoot plastic shrapnel into cabin and it's occupants. I have children and i feel unsecured riding my truck.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact noticed cracks on the dashboard towards the front passenger side near the air bag components and cracks on the driver side near the gauges. The dealer and manufacturer stated that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer provided no repair solution other than stating to take the vehicle to the dealer for repair. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.

Dash cracked while stationary. Very common. Potential to become projectile during accident.

Dashboard has 3 large cracks. Started as a small stress crack then spread throughout the dash. This is a known problem with the 08-14 gm vehicles ( tahoe, suburban, avalanche) this happened as the car was stationary. This is very unsafe as the crack can spread and/or break during driving, gm needs to address this major concern

The "chrome" outside door handles broke. They are cheaply made. We are currently in need of repair for the second replacement set.

Dashboard crackedon instrument panel and by passenger airbag causing a terrible rattle

The door handles on my 2008 chevy tahoe z71 are chrome plated and have delaminated and cut my hands several times upon opening the door while stationary.i saw a recall was issued for 2007 models but never for 2008.the issue is occurring in these vehicles as well.

Dashboard has cracked adjacent to corner of passenger side airbag panel and along top of driver side instrument cluster panel. Cracked dash continues to expand. The cracked dashboard is a safety concern in that shards of the plastic may break off during an accident and/or during deployment of the airbags, impaling the passengers. The sad part of this is that i had to replace all the exterior door handles also because they all broke off from the cheap plastic clip that holds the handle in place - no recall on that either. This is inexcusable when you look at the cost of the ltz vehicles. Both of these defects are safety issues - mishandling of aibags when deployed and someone able to enter your vehicle through a broken handle!!!!!!!

The door handles on my tahoe have broken off at the post in the door.this is a common occurence for this model according to the data on the internet.the plastic handle easily breaks off from the metal post over time.this is not from excessive use or force this is just a design flaw with inferior materials.both the passenger and driver side handles have broken off. The situation just contuinued to get worse over the last year.this vehicle is garaged 90% of the time only being driven as a pleasure vehicle. The doors broke when the vehicle was parked.

Crack on dashboard near passenger airbag may cause damage to airbag during deployment or pieces of dash to contact passenger during deployment

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard of the vehicle was fractured in several places, which could cause injuries. The vehicle was diagnosed, but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was 54,398.

Dashboard cracking in several different places, even beside passenger airbag.

There is a very large cracked area on the dashboard on the drivers side near the speedometer area. My concern is that this may some how deploy the air bag or other mechnical instruments in this area.

The dashboard is cracking in multiple places.

Takata recall - i have been checking on this for a year and a remedy is still not available. I was involved in an accident april 10 2017 and the tahoe sustained significant front and rear damage while stationary. I was hit from behind by a large truck and was then pushed into the car in front of me. No airbags deployed.

The outside door handles are cheap and defective.just replaced one and another is breaking apart.replaced the handle at the dealer who told me they are replacing a lot of them!

2008 chevy tahoe cost in 2008 , $35,000. Current mileage 68k, dash cracked at passenger airbag at 38k mileage while taking a family trip and same thing happen at 44k the dash board on drive has now crack as well i made a huge investment when i made choise to buy chevy now is looking like i made a mistake. I will be buying ford products from here on out. Shame on you chevrolet!! you should stand behind your products. And to think i was in process of maybe getting a newers model

My dash panel has cracked over the drivers side instrument panel and above the passenger airbag area. This can cause potential safety issues if the airbags were to deploy or possibility of things getting in through the crack to damage the electronics underneath.

The dashboard on my chevy tahoe is cracking.it began with one very small crack and now it has spread to the airbag compartment.the cracks have become so bad that the airbag compartment on the passenger side has begun to protrude above the surface of the dashboard.

Dashboard cracked in several places above airbags creating very sharp, jagged edges.this poses a major safety concern as the exposed sharp plastic edges can and have cut fingers and could also damage the airbag in the event of a crash.

Dashboard has crack 6 inches long above instrument paneloccured while vehicle was parked taken out of servicewith refective sunvisor in window

I bought the car a year a go, i started to notice some cracks ok the topdashboard, by the instrument cluster, i big crack by the top air bag system. The cracks are getting bigger, im afraid this is not safe in case of traffic accident.

Have two area on my,dash board where. Cracks are located, running from the steering to the passage side.never use any cleaning products, just a damp towel.

My dashboard recently cracked on its own in several locations including around the passenger side airbag and in front of the drivers console. It seems as if this is some sort of defect in the manufacturing process. It split all the way through. My main concern is the pieces next to the airbag may become projectiles if the airbags were to ever be deployed. Gm and chevrolet dealerships refuse to address the issue after numerous complaints.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the front passenger and driver's side interior door handles became fractured. The door handles were sharp and the contact sustained a laceration from attempting to open the door. The rear and front passenger exterior door handles and also became detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who inspected the door and stated that the failure was caused by normal wear and tear. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was 85,000. The current mileage was 104,000.

2008 chevy tahoe door handles coming off. Has 79,000 miles on it. Ltz model. This should be a recall cause a lot of people are having problems with this.

The chrome is peeling on my door handles and have caused cuts for different family members this is bad.

The chrome plating on the driver interior door handle split at the seam and almost cut my hand....it would have if i had not noticed it before i grabbed the door to open it.

Door handles on my 2008 chevy tahoe broke again for 3rd time. Chevydealer notes its a issue but says its not covered under warranty since im over my mileage. Please help!

Continuously having to replace door handles on 2008 chevy tahoe. Pinches my hand and causes brusing.

Driver and passenger side broken exterior door handles (chrome plated). Both door handles pulled away from the door and are broken.also the chrome plating on all handles are peeling.my research indicates that this is an extremely common problem with this model.

2008 chevrolet tahoe. Consumer writes in regard to rusted frame. *ldthe consumer stated the front right stabilizer bracket broke off the frame.

Thanks

Complain to dealer prior to gm warranty expiration and extended warranty expiration but now that warranty expired willing to investigate.constant p0300 random misfire detected on cylinder 5.misfires over 20 times within 60 seconds via gm fast test (launch software version v44.30)happen at idle or in motion leveling / suspension / stability system constantly alert during motion.also have crack on dash that leads to passenger airbag.if remote start is used loud grinding can be herd after idle for approximately 8 minutes or sooner.

The vehicle exhibits accelerated side to side movements in side winds and when following high profile vehicles. The side to side movement is extreme enough to cause mild discomfort from the safety belts and will cause the vehicle operator to be come disoriented. Inclement weather makes the problem intolerable.

Right front stabilizer mounting bracket ripped off of frame.this leaves the front stabilizer bar flopping under the car resulting in noise and unsafe driving conditions.this is due to a weak mounting point on the frame

The service suspension system warning message came on when starting the vehicle, prompting me to search for warranty information upon which i discovered this recall information.please advise me how to get this problem fixed under recall if this situation applies.thank you.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that while repairing the vehicle for an unrelated defect, he discovered that the front upper ball joints were prematurely wearing and would need to be replaced. The contact was in the process of repairing the vehicle himself. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was unavailable.

2008 tahoe ltz - automatic load leveling air suspension in the rear is pressured up so high that it is as if there is no suspension in the rear.it will not adjust to lower pressure.this is very dangerous.on the highway saturday, a road that i have traveled many times in another vehicle, i ran over two small bumps and the rear end of the tahoe bounced off the road.had i not correctly corrected i may not be writing this.again, this is a very dangerous defect.i will take the tahoe in to michael chevrolet tomorrow morning and hope they can correct this.if not, chevrolet can have the tahoe back.i sure as heck will not be diving it in this condition.

2008 tahoe first service reported a noise from the center of vehicle and passenger rear side.service said needed grease on the transmission collar and the suspension on in the rear.problem recurs every 6 to 8 months.need problem resolved. Now out of warranty. Wow- now they will tell me what the problem is and how i can have it fixed and how much it will cost.

Cracks can grow and turn into large holes that exposing the mechanical and electronic parts underneath.

Dashboard severely cracked

I have done everything in my power, knowledge and experience to address the issue of my cracked dashboard/pad. I have reached out to dozens upon dozens of other tahoe/yukon owners who have experienced the exact same issue and have reached out to gm for further assistance to only have been turned away.

Known defect in 2007 through 2013 chevrolet tahoe dashboard.dashboard cracks around passenger side air bag housing causing defects to air bag system.

My dashboard is cracking and it's a big problem in gmc vehicles and this has been reported by numerous people nationwide.this is a manufacturer problem and they should fix it. They say they are not responsible for it and that is not right. My vehicle started cracking like right after a year and that is ridiculous. The cracks are all over my dashboard.

Takata recall.many years and no action to resolve this matter.unable to sell due to outstanding recall.

Dashboard cracked above instrument panel. Vehicle was in motion on a neighborhood street. Heard popping noise that startled me while driving. Upon inspection discovered new crack in dash which was not cracked prior. We do not use cleaning solutions in our tahoe due to our daughter having respiratory issues. We only wipe with cloths. This could not have been caused by cleaning solutions due to that.

The dash of my tahoe has numerous cracks around the airbag, vents, and the instrument panel.also the tire pressure sensor has been replaced numerous times and still causes the indicator to light up becuase the sensor failed.

My dashboard started cracking when my tahoe had approximately 40,000 miles, went to the dealership in monterey park ca, and they did not want to do anything.at 60,000 miles another crack appeared and i sent an email to gm, they said it was not a safety issue, they offer to pay only part of the repair.why pay to have it replaced if it is more than obvious that they made a big design error or perhaps materials used are super low quality.i know i'm not the only customer with this issue, and the cracks keep appearing and growing.

Dash is cracked around passenger airbag.

My 2008 chevy tahoe developed 2 cracks in the dashboard and willinterfere with the airbagdeployment.creating a safety hazardand possibly endangering my passengers.

I noticed that on my tahoe my dashboard started cracking on both sides. So i did a little research and it was happening with many other tahoe silverado and gm cars where the dash started cracking. I don't find it fair that we all have the same problem and that gm doesn't pay for it because it clearly shows that it's the product they put in our cars were cheap quality to where all of us buyers have the same problem and have to pay for it. Therefore i feel that they should have a recall and take care of what they messed up with also it is a hazard because anything on your car that isn't met to the basic standards may be entitled to a law suit so i think we need a recall and thats all i have to say becuase i don't feel safe driving my car with cracked parts that can fly into anyones eye with the window open. That is all i have to say s just please give us the recall and make us consumers happy it would be much appreciated.

Cracked dashboard in 2 places. This could lead to air bag safety issues.

Dash cracked in two places, driver and passenger side. Concerned more about passenger side due to air bag. The vehicle is not my everyday vehicle with very low mileage and kept inside its whole life in an well insulated fully covered garage.

Hello, there is a crack in my dashboard of my 2008 chevy tahoe that may very much affect the deployment of my airbag.i really and truly feel that if an accident should occur they air bag will not function properly.i just purchased from bmw in macon on 1/6/2016 and i have an expended warranty.

Dashboard has crack 6 inches long above instrument paneloccured while vehicle was parked taken out of servicewith refective sunvisor in window

The dashboard on my 2008 tahoe is cracked and has become an issue because the cracks have made it to my passenger airbag and i am worried about my safety in case of an accident . I wouldn't want plastic flying everywhere and potentially kill someone.

Is this car a total loss vehicle? carfax says it is, and it happened in 2011. There was a total loss reported by an insurance company?

Takata recall dashboard cracking more and more... Falling into pieces. Worried it may affect airbags or prevent airbags to work properly.

The driver side dash board is cracking

Cracking dashboard. This has happened over time and cannot be attributed to the speed, direction, or orientation of the vehicle. I feel this can be a safety issue inhibiting the safe deployment of the airbags.

Dash board has three cracks in it around the airbag on the passenger side.

Dashboard on tahoe is cracking on theinstrument panel and passenger side air bag.

My concern whit this vehicle is the dash is cracking on pisesis be reading a lot about this problem and tahoe sierra and yukon's .all gmc vehicles i think this should be a safety this pises can fly when the vehicle is on the move and cause accidents...

Dashboard is cracking around the airbag and on top of the odometer/ speed and is a safety issue if passenger side airbag goes off. Potential for it to shoot plastic shrapnel into cabin and it's occupants. I have children and i feel unsecured riding my truck.

The air/heat system completely quit working. No shop that has looked at it can tell what is wrong with it.

The front dash board is cracked, it happened in 2014, there was a crack across from top to bottom on the driver side, i did not contacted the company because it was out of warranty already but just a few months ago another crack appeared in the passenger side across from where the air bags deploy, this got me concerned for safety reasons, i started reading more and found out that this is a common issue with most chevrolet trucks/suv's. Action needs to be taken from gmc to correct this issue and replace cracked dashboards.

The dash has severely cracked in numerous places including near the passenger air bag which i fear could create shrapnel if involved in a collision and the airbag inflates. This has gradually worsened over time.

Dash has cracked to the point if the air bags came out it would be very harmful with all the plastic pieces flying everywhere!didn't get the recall notice. This needs to be fixed since it is the manufacturer using inferior materials.

Cracks on dashboard be lived to be faulty material or craftsmanship. Fear of accident and the airbag inflation causing dashboard fragments injuring front seat occupants

Dash cracking on and near airbag in dash , tried to repair once at a shop and still carcked.. Other parts of dash is cracking .

Mutable cracks in dashboard. This is a well know issue with 07 to 11 gm's. There was no abuse or reason for the cracks. The cracks are causing sharp edges and points that are directly in front of the driver and passenger. As well as exposing internal equipment that could lead to failure including air bags.

Dashboard crackedon instrument panel and by passenger airbag causing a terrible rattle

My dash is cracked on the driver's side over the stirring wheel. I have noticed that there are several other complaints about the same issue. Thanks in advance.

The dashboard has a cracked from the driver's side to the passenger side of the vehicle. The crack involves the passenger side airbag cover.

Cracked dashboard and instrument panel.

While driving 65mph on the interstate in very good driving conditions, i heard a loud pop and realized that my dash had cracked. The crack originally stretched 6-7 inches from the edge of the dash close to the windshield above the gauge cluster toward the driver. The crack continues to lengthen and my concern is this presents a safety hazard that increases as the crack gets longer. Another crack is forming where the airbag is located which will present a considerable hazard in the event of an airbag deployment as any shards of plastic could become potential projectiles that may cause serious harm to myself or a passenger. I have been a lifelong loyal gm customer and i disappointed with the performance of this component. I brought this concern to the attention of the local dealership and they will not address the obvious failure of the dashboard.

Dash cracking in multiple locations. Recently pieces began falling out around passengers side airbag. This is a safety hazard. If accident occurred pieces could become projectile objects. Over 10,500 signatures on change.org and still no results to solve the issues.

My dash has cracked above the gauge cluster and above the passenger airbag.

My 2008 chevy tahoe dash cracked near airbag and right on top of steering wheel

Dash board is broken

Dashed is cracked on passenger side near passenger side air bag cover under windshield and the dealership will not cover this safety issue.

The dashboard has a 6-8" crack, vehicle is garage kept & sunshades. No damage caused to vehicle to cause the crack.

I have been the only owner of my 2008 chevy tahoe, my dash has cracked twice and replaced, now my dash is cracked again. This is obviously an issue with this specific vehicle as i am among thousands that are having the exact same issue. I do not have warranty any longer and neither gm nor the dealership will fix this issue for free. This is wrong and not a good way to conduct business if gm is expecting those same people to purchase another vehicle for them as they obviously do not stand behind their product. A cracked dash is not a wear and tear issue and simply should not happen. It shows the vehicle was made with the cheapest of products. It is also something that could potentially be a safety hazard as the dash sits over air bags, so if an accident shall occur and the air bags deploy could cause more harm to the drivers. I am appalled that no one will fix this issue since it has happened multiple times. I am very upset at the customer service by dealerships and gm altogether.

My dash has cracked without any force being applied to it due to cheap material used in manufacturing item. It is a safety issue which may cause parts of dash to propel to driver and passenger causing injuries.

We bought a 2008 chevy tahoe & the dash is cracked near the airbag like many others & a brand new crack has happened above the cluster area. We also purchased the warranty when we bought it but gm will not cover it.

Door locks failed to work with key remote as well as buttons on the doors.ended up paying $560.00 to have locks and latches replaced.

Latches/locks/linkages complaint.three of the four door locks cannot be automatically opened or closed either from the inside or outside of thesuv .could pose a safetyproblem if trapped inside of the car.estimated cost to repair $180.00 per door.

Driver side dashboard cracked above steering column by front windshield.vehicle was stationary overnight.came out in morning to find huge crack in dash.

Dashboard cracking near airbags, both driver and passenger side.

2008 chevrolet tahoe.noticed cracks on the dashboard towards the front passenger side near the air bag components and cracks on the driver side near the gauges.the approximate failure mileage was 113,500

We own two chevy tahoe's and both of them (2008 & 2012) have cracking dashboards. I am concerned with the safety of the airbags. There are many complaints online regarding this issue and is a hazards to drivers and passengers.

The dashboard is starting to form cracks through out and around the passenger airbag.

My dash developed one crack, than two, then three, with no impact or obvious reason.i eventually took it to a dealership.i was told by the advisor that this was not uncommon.they split the repair cost with me, but i have since discovered this was far more wide spread than originally thought.it is obviously a faulty part.

Dashboard has severely cracked in two places; one at the passenger side airbag and one over the instrument cluster in front of the driver.

The dash is cracked above the drivers instrument panel and looks as if it is separating along the seam down to the passenger airbag.there is also a crack at the passenger side airbag. Very concerned about unnecessary airbag deployment. I am uncertain of the exact date so i put when i noticed it in the date line.

Shortly after my 2008 warranty expired i noticed that the interior dashboard began cracking in various places and i called my dealership where i purchased the vehicle but they couldn't do anything. I have had to replace many of the parts in this vehicle several times and they are not cheap parts. After my last part episode, i decided to look up a common theme online; only to discover there are many other customers that have the same issues that i am having. However, the cracked dashboard is more serious because it houses the defected takata airbag that is supposed to be replaced. However, no one has contacted me on replacing that issue either. The dash board first cracked in july 2011 and another cracked occurred in july 2017. I use a dash cover to protect my vehicle from heat; however, nothing seem to stop the dash from cracking and the interior parts from falling a part.

I bought the car a year a go, i started to notice some cracks ok the topdashboard, by the instrument cluster, i big crack by the top air bag system. The cracks are getting bigger, im afraid this is not safe in case of traffic accident.

I purchased vehicle in 2009 from ross downing chevrolet dash board was cracked in three places.was told nothing could be done except to replace it at a cost of about 800 dollars.two of the cracks is around passenger side air bags.

I have cracks all over my dashboard that just appeared. I contacted gm and they advised me that this is a common problem and they will not assist me.

Cracked dash board by driver and passenger airbag

Dash board cracks on the passages side beside the airbag cover. Also cracks on the driver side from near the windshield running toward the odometer area. Cracks appeared over time that i owned the vehicle.

A crack started to form on the dashboard above the upper left corner of the passenger airbag. The crack has spread and has caused pressure and strain on other parts of the dashboard leading to major cracks in the plastic all the way from the passenger airbag to the drivers side dash 'hump' above the steering wheel. This has been identified as a very common problem/defect with the chevy tahoe model from 2007-2011. The cracks are a safety concern since they are starting from and are surrounding the airbags. Any deployment of the airbags are at risk of malfunction as well as possibly causing damage to passengers due to the cracked pieces potential of breaking off and being hurled at passengers upon impact/deployment. Gm should recall these models and fix the safety issue.

Dash is cracking everywhere...

Reporting odometer fraud

Dashboard cracks at the corner of the passenger air bag!

Dashboard cracked and may be unsafe.

Tamara recallcracked dashboard.

Dashboard is cracking near the passenger side airbags. Is this safe and will not cause any malfunction to the correct operation of the airbags? kindly do the needful to check on this issue. Thanks.

The dash around the passenger air bag has cracked and continues to spread.i fear this may be a safety issue in the event of airbag deployment with pieces of the dash becoming shapnel

Dashboard is cracked in multiple locations. Notably around the airbag. Dashboard was replaced once at my expense and cracked again 2 years later.

A crack has developed on the dashboard behind the instrument cluster.the dashboard was completely replaced under warranty by the dealer (bryan chevrolet, metairie, la) in 2010.this is a widely common problem with all gm trucks and suv in this "class".this is a defect and should be considered for recall due to possible injury due in the event of a crash.

April, 2015 i noticed small crack in right side of dash in front of passengerand larger crack indriver dash.may 2015 the cracks were significantly larger.the vehicle lives in a garage in florida when not being driven.it is not primary vehicle driven. Dash pad was replaced by palm chevrolet in ocala, florida on june 2, 2015.the cost was $721.41..

Have two area on my,dash board where. Cracks are located, running from the steering to the passage side.never use any cleaning products, just a damp towel.

*ln

I have 3 cracks in my dashboard that have appeared over a course of approximately 2 years. I have 2 that are above my odometer and one that is coming from the passenger airbag area of the dash. Driving down the road it is making crackling noises as if it is slowly spreading.

The dash has multiple cracks, exposing the air bag compartment. The plastic/foil outer coating on the door handles are cracked and peeling and have cut people's hands.

Dashboard is severely cracking above and around airbags putting passengers in harms way. This is a manufacturer defect as tens of thousands of owners have reported but gm has failed to recognize as of yet. Please please get someone to look into this as it is a major concern. I'd love to continue to buy american products but my faith in their quality is waning!

Takata recall battery drainage with tested good battery & good alternator. Issues unknown but car had to be jumped 3 times in one week. Nothing was left on or plugged in. Shop couldn't find problem. One example is went to get gas & after fill, car wouldn't turn on.

Thank you

There is a very large cracked area on the dashboard on the drivers side near the speedometer area. My concern is that this may some how deploy the air bag or other mechnical instruments in this area.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph there was static coming from the radio and then the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights on the instrument panel. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The static from the radio also caused the electric windows to open and close intermittently. The failure was diagnosed by the dealer who stated that the full body throttle needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76127.rk

After getting the required software update from gm, my 2008 hybrid tahoe has had multiple episodes of uncontrolled acceleration when driving on cruise control. When using cruise control at around 30mph and when reaching an incline that requires slight acceleration to maintain speed, the vehicle "floors" itself, downshifts and accelerates aggressively. I've had to jump onto the brakes to avoid launching forward. If i had been in a situation where i was close to another vehicle or other object, or if i had not been paying close attention, the truck could easily have accelerated rapidly causing a crash.

The vehicle exhibits accelerated side to side movements in side winds and when following high profile vehicles. The side to side movement is extreme enough to cause mild discomfort from the safety belts and will cause the vehicle operator to be come disoriented. Inclement weather makes the problem intolerable.
