Airbags do not deflate upon impact and electrical system short circuit on the printed circuit board and harness electrical short

'takata recall" -- vehicle is 8 years old.should be on top of recall list.although not consistent throughout the year, periods of hot and humid weather exists where i live; this condition, as stated in the recall, can add to the increase degrade of airbag.i have learn that if vehicle is over 6 years, our vehicle should be a priority for replacement or repair.recall is almost 8 months old.repair should exists by now.

The dashboard is cracked above the steering wheel and also around the passenger airbag.

Takata recall- this recall states that there isa defect with the air bags and my repair air bag light is on and i can't get my car to pass the yearly pennsylvania car inspection. I'm going to continue being stopped by the police and given a 50 dollar no inspection ticket until i can get this repair airbag light off.

Complete vehicle failure - gm has admitted that they are at a loss as to how to fix the many errors (22) that show up on diagnostics.it was towed 3 times in 5 days & has now been at the dealership for 2 weeks & is still not functional.

Sirius xm signal is not working and i have had the dealer do a reboot/reset on the radio. The reset worked for 2-3 months when i took it to gilchrist chevrolet in tacoma wa. I have lost signal again and dealership is not very helpful with this type of situation. Sirius xm points their finger at gm and gm is pointing their finger at sirius xm. I just want my radio to work. Dealership does not seem knowledgeable about hybrid cars that gm manufactured.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. The contact stated that the keyless entry malfunctioned. After locking the doors electronically, while driving 25 mph, the rear passenger door opened. The contact took the vehicle to an authorized dealer who replaced the door actuator on the rear passenger door. Now the front driver and passenger side door actuators were also malfunctioning; the vehicle was being repaired by the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

Motor mounts were broken what's resulted in the vehicle lunging me forward when coming to a stop. The check engine light for the hybrid battery also came on. The result is the car shaking and shutting off more than once when attempting to accelerate from a stopped position. Once was in a very busy intersection.itshut off when coming out of a bank parking lot and turning on to a busy street.

Rear door locks (actuators) stopped working. First passenger rear lock failed to open or close. This happened after warranty coverage had ended. After some research i have found out that this is a widespread gm issue especially with 2008-09 gm suv type of vehicles. My understanding is that the actuator motor fails. It is also my understanding that this electrical failure is due to a very inexpensive electrical actuator is used for the locking mechanism. This is a real safety issue and i am wondering when gm will be held accountable.

Out side rearview mirrors, will not open and close, using inside switch.have to roll down windows to adjust mirrors.this is done when entering or backing out of the garage.

My complaint towards my 2008 chevy tahoe hybrid is while driving my trucks stalls, twice already while driving off a parking lot onto the street it has shut off on me. Is getting to a point that i am afraid to drive it, i took it to the chevy placethey kept it for 8-10 through 8/17, pick it up and the very next day the truck began stalling, dropped it off on a monday 8/21, called the service department on friday 8/25 and they said they can't fix it but they are going to keep it over the weekend to see what they can do.

I was in the parking lotwith the motor running and heard a knocking sound coming from engine. I immediately took it to robbins chevrolet.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. The contact stated that the rear hatch door failed to unlock. The failure recurred on several occasions. On a separate occasion, while driving at approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled causing another vehicle to crash into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 117,475.

When started (usually the second time of the day after being driven to work and then having sat all day) the vehicle coughs and runs rough for a second. Then the throttle does not respond to input for a variable period of time. When it does respond it may respond to previous input causing unanticipated acceleration. I have had to use both feet on the brake to avoid a crash. Throws no codes. Dealer says they cannot diagnose it although they have reproduced it.in addition, an independent shop says that on start/restart there is a grinding noise in the starter/transmission (the electric motor in the transmission is used as a starter). Dealer denies hearing this although the independent says it happens every time.

Vehicle will sometimes go in reverse when in drive gear and vice versa. Vehicle will die when accelerating from a stop sign, stop light and/or parking lots. Vehicle jerks violently upon acceleration. Suspension pops, stabilitrack service, hybrid system service, brake service all illuminated on dash along with check engine light following the violent jerking and dying upon acceleration.

Gm is refusing to replace a defective catalytic converter under warranty mandated by federal law and applicable to residents of massachusetts, california, new york, vermont, and maine.

I had a check engine light on a 2008 chevy tahoe hybrid.i was on the way to the dealer when the engine moved to almost wide open throttle.i tried to stop the vehicle with the brakes but the power of the vehicle was too much.i moved into the center turn lane to not hit anyone and put the vehicle in neutral.the throttle was still almost wot.i was less than a half mile from the dealer when this occured.the vehicle lurched into the dealership parking lot with the smell of burning brakes.i asked the technician to come outside.he noticed the floor mat was wedged inbetween the floor and the brake pedal.this had caused the check engine light to keep coming on.there are no pegs or clips to keep the floor mat from sliding under the pedal.very dangerous to be driving a huge vehicle with electric and v8 power and it won't stop.

When driving around and at a stop light the engine will go into auto stop. When applying pressure to gas pedal the vehicle will hesitate and then lurch forward. Vehicle will also get a high idle between 1500 rpm and 2200 rpm and fluctuate between those rpms. Also when idling below 1,000 rpms the engine will rev up and down as if pressure is being applied to the gas pedal but there is no pressure being applied at all. Been having this issue for quite sometime and i figured it was just some bad fuel but it has been consistent. Also have no lights illuminated on the dash, no check engine lights or anything. I haven't taken to dealer yet because i am waiting on the supplies for the air bag recall so they can work on the vehicle while replacing the air bag.

2008 chevy tahoe hybrid. Auto door locks quit locking and unlocking - intermittently for about the past year. Dealer service dept suggested replacing actuators. Read other complaints that said replacing actuators not a fix - definite safety issue when doors can not be locked & unlocked at will. Accident or assault could be life & death issue.

The automated door locks fail to lock or unlock the doors.very dangerous if one needs to exit or enter the vehicle.numerous complaints of similar nature on line.

I have a 2008 chevy tahoe hybrid.about 3 mths ago the doors quit locking from time to time.i looked it up online and read hundreds of complaints about the exact same problem.on my truck it rotates from door to door which ones that will not lock.i called the repair shop and for them to fix one door they quoted $350.during my reading online someone stated that gm actually know the problem and it has to do with the wiring harness not the actual doors.getting the actuators on the doors fixed is only a temporary fix.this is a safety hazard while driving, with a door opening and while parked or sitting in traffic because of all the car jackings going on in society.i do see dangers associated with problem and a major recall needs to be ordered and gm forced to fix their known problem.

Vehicle shuts off randomly from stop to auto start transition feature. Modules has been updated to latest version. Problem still accumulating hybrid batteries soc 60% battery temperature inlet 81f outlet 107f 340volt total charge in the event of problem accured. Aux trans pump and module replaced new. Hybrid battery cooling fan replaced new. Problem still exist dealer cannot find the problem or they dont want to deal. In the even of shut off i loose brake power and steering power which i can not stop or steer the vehicle to pull over this results in serious safety issue.

Vehicle will jerk uncontrollably at times at parking lot speeds. Vehicle will stall at times when taking off from a stop. Vehicle will accelerate at times by itself witout pressing accelerator. Dealer claims it needs a new battery but cannot replicate problems. I disaggree with dealer and think vehicle is dangerous.

2008 hybrid tahoeslow reverse out of parking space, absolutely no pressure in the brakes. Put the pedal to the floor and vehicle came to rolling stop, 5-10 feet with pedal to the floor. Pressure returned after changing transmission to driveand pumping. Dealer could not duplicate.no warning lights or error codes when service checked it out. We completed buyback / lemon law with regard to this issue and transmission.transmission was completely replaced at direction of gm engineers and had same issues present within 2-3 months.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid.while driving 25 mph, the contact stopped the vehicle and the stow-n-go seat slammed against the driver and passenger seats.the spring on the seats are not strong enough to hold the seats.the contact placed a bungee cord on the back of the seat to hold it in place.he feels that the vehicle is unsafe because the seat could slam into the back of the driver and cause a crash.the current mileage was 5,200 and the failure mileage was unknown.

Started car, put in gear, depressed brake pedal, and it went nearly to the floor. No vacuum assist and the car was very hard to stop even at a rolling speed. The following lights illuminated: check engine light, stabilitrack indicator light, abs warning light, brake system warning light. The following displayed on odometer screen: service stabilitrack, service traction control, service brakes soon.vehicle has been at dealership for 2 weeks, with repeated calls to gm engineers, who first recommended replacing the master cylinder, which cost $1000 and did not fix the problem.since then, the engineers apparently say it is the hybrid brake valve modulator that has failed, which will cost additional $2300; however, the dealer cannot get the part and not sure if this will fix it.this hybrid braking system is defective and dangerous!!i cannot imagine what would have happened had i been driving at full speed.in reading forums, i am not the only one with this issue.i hope the nhtsa reads this with all the recalls and coverups that gm has had to deal with in the past few months.a recall should be issued.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. While driving 20 mph, the brakes failed to engage without warning. In order to stop the vehicle, the emergency brake had to be engaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 107,000.

When pushing the brake pedal the vehicle started to shake/vibrate as if the abs was activated when i got to work, and even when place the vehicle in to park and pushed the brake pedal the same vibration happened.i rushed to the dealership had to drive on hwy to get there kept at min speeds as possible and not using brakes at all.while approaching an exit ramp, i applied my brakes they locked up ( it really scared me) then the abs vibrating came back again.as i was approaching my house and hit the brakes again found i had none had to use emergency foot brake to stop. After over night on my driveway attempted to take the vehicle to the dealer and the brakes started to work kind of with the same abs vibration problem. Dropped it of at the dealer at valley buick gmc on sat 06/28/14, on monday the dealer tells me its a bpmv brake pressure modular valve needs to be replaced and that it will take 3-4 weeks to get the parts.1st of all it was scary enough to lose the brakes and now 2 weeks later renting a car out of my own pocket $600 out and now going onto 3rd week another $250 expenses, as of today 7/14/14 dealer part says they have no idea when the part will be shipped.called gm customer service and they say there is no recall on this issue (they have to wait till enough people die or get hurt), so they transfer me to the dealer that has my vehicle with no idea when the part will come.i love the hybrid tahoe but this is how gm take care of their customers i don't think i will be buying a new tahoe.

While approaching an intersection with vehicles approaching from several directions, i applied my brakes but found i had none.fortunately, the other cars noted my situation and stopped for me.there was a gm dealer one block away, so i slowly drove there.i turned off the ignition.i re-started the vehicle and found i had brakes again.i slowly drove to village chevrolet which was not far away.i was told the ebcm and bpmv were not builing pressure for the booster.they serviced and reprogrammed and delivered the vehicle the next day.on january 14, 2013, while driving i noted that again i did not have brakes. Fortunately, i was in a low traffic volume situation and i was able to slow to a stop. Again, village chevrolet was not far away so i took the vehicle in for service.the bpmv and the tansmission auxiliary fluid pump were replaced at a cost of $2,700.it is of concern that new brake design and technology is such that one cannot gain functional brake repair at a reasonable cost.this was my sixth tahoe from village chevrolet but it is my last gm purchase.i understand the vehicle is out of warranty, but village chevrolet says they have not have any similar problems.if that is the case, why would the company not stand behind new models with new technology for a basic need such as brakes.what if i had been driving on the freeway at 70 mph?now, while braking, i note a difference in pedal pressure during the braking process.i am going to have the vehicle checked at a different dealer.brakes are not just important, they are essential!!while the financial circumstances are disappointing, my main concern is the brake safety issue.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph, he applied the brakesand there was a slight response. The traction control, stability trak warning indicators and the service brake soon warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was maneuvered to the emergency lane where the engine was turned off. Upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normally although the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred ten times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The failure was contributed to the computer sensor and the vehicle was repaired. Eleven months after the repair was performed, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent defect. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled after depressing the brake pedal. After the failure occurred, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle could be operated after the failure using the vehicle manual control feature. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the entire electronic brake control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

Power brakes failed on this hybrid vehicle.the dealer says the power brakes can fail if the hybrid battery pack loses power.the brakes continued not to work until it was towed to the dealer, and they reset the computer system. They said they don't know if or when it will happen again and cannot do anything to prevent it.they said if the brakes fail two more times we could use the lemon law to deal with the problem.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid.while driving approximately 25 mph, the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel.suddenly, there was no response when the brake pedal was depressed.the driver experienced extreme difficulty stopping the vehicle and had to slam on the brakes.the vehicle was able to slow down upon reaching its destination.the "on star" device was engaged and recommended that the engine be turned off and restarted.immediately, the computer system reset itself; however, the failure recurred the following day.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that the power assist failed.the technician reprogrammed the computerized system and replaced different control modules.in addition, while driving over 35 mph, the vehicle lurched forward unexpectedly.the failure mileage was 5,000 and current mileage was 5,500.

90k mi.power steering assist motor shaft breaks off, disables power steering 100% as truck was traveling 65 mph on highway. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7cphpud53i

Sudden failure of electric power steering motor. No warning, no alarms, while driving. Luckily happened at slow speed and no accident occurred....but could have.post incident i could not find a recall notice or tsb for my vehicle, yet other gm vehicles with electric power steering have notices. The tahoe hybrid should have one.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet tahoe hybrid. While pulling into a parking space at 10 mph, the power steering failed without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v719000 (steering). The failure mileage was 122,000.

While driving the vehicle, any slight turn of the wheel stays in rather than tracking back to center. I have been told this is normal for the electric assisted power steering, however i have not noticed it in other electric vehicles. It presents a serious hazard as most if not all drivers are accustomed to a steering wheel which tracks back to center when the steering wheel is "bumped" slightly or when making a full turn as in intersection turns. The wheel in a 90 degree turn will begin to track back to center but stops short of it. A power steering control module adjustment was done by the dealer but it still does not track back to center. You must manually turn the wheel to get it to straighten out.

I was driving about 60 miles per hour, and the steering put very hard,so i can't go for nothing on left or right so i was very little to have crashed

Cracks on my dash around the passenger airbag and above the driver bezel area. It seems this could be a safety issue if i were to ever be in an accident and the cracks are getting worse.

The dashboard plastic has cracked in many places even though i have always used a windshield cover and have a carpeted dashboard cover.

When i start my 2008 ltz tahoe the service suspension system light comes on.this happens everytime i start my vehicle.is there a recall on this problem?

Vehicle will sometimes go in reverse when in drive gear and vice versa. Vehicle will die when accelerating from a stop sign, stop light and/or parking lots. Vehicle jerks violently upon acceleration. Suspension pops, stabilitrack service, hybrid system service, brake service all illuminated on dash along with check engine light following the violent jerking and dying upon acceleration.

The dashboard is cracked above the steering wheel and also around the passenger airbag.

Dashboard has cracked at upper left hand corner of passenger air bag and above driver side instrument panel. Crack at air bag is worrisome in event that it may effect air bag deployment.

Its about a corner i have just got a used chevy tahoe hybird 2008 at a dealer in nj with 30 day warranty, and now the doors from lr-driver left rear and rr-passenger side rear lock doesnt open or lock! had my friend in back and doors didnt open from no way!! hope in god that theres a fire or emergency how does my kids, family get out? thats my problem. I think in every case safety is alway first!and hope chevy should fix it as a recall!!

2 large cracks on dashboard not truama related just started to appear and grew larger

There are two separate cracks in the dashboard. The dashboard was never abused or hit. It has come to my attention that this is problem with many gm vehicles from 2007-2013.
